Speaker B: I love you in a way I've never loved nobody else. My heart is in a bottle corked and put upon your shelf. And I don't mind bab, I know the deeper your capacity to love the deeper your well is dug for her. So I'll drive a little slower, Take a bite less of dessert. Cause I've got plans for a lifetime with you. I never thought I'd be the girl getting lost in a summer world. I thought that I would say I love you this way. And I love like I've never loved before. Been thinking back on this time where we were a year ago. If I had any chance of loving you again? You know I had to let you go. I had to let you go. I never thought I'd be the girl getting lost in a winter world. I never thought that I would say does it have to be this way? And it hurts like it never hurt before.
• 3:04
  Speaker C: Fall.
• 3:08
Speaker B: In earth and ever find a way to meet in the middle. Feel the wind up there Feel the grass down here. Can we slow it down just a little? And we'll feel like we never felt before. I never thought I'd be found and lost in a b swad I never thought that I would say it was worth all the heartache I never thought it would be you. I'd share my dreams from home My bed and wake up every morning too? So will I love like we never loved before.

Speaker A: All Right. That was Angelina Valente's like I've never loved before. So once again, Stockade of blues of Stock Night 2, 4:30pm at Stella's Pasta Bar and Bistro in Schenectady. Moving on to Friday. Friday. You know what? I couldn't decide on just one entity, musical entity for Friday, so I went with two, which is my prerogative. So I did it. So first up we've got Girth Control, the ever present Girth Control that we love immensely. They are going to be playing at Ophelia's on Broadway in Albany. So a lot of you may be familiar with that. Great food, great people and now great music. So head over there, watch that. And because we love Girth Control so much, we decided to play one of the better songs. They're all good, by the way. This is Shorts Song for Shorts People, off the album, Life's Too Short for Girth Control. That's a great album name, guys. So well done. So here you are, Girth Control's Short Song for Shorts people.
• 5:44
Speaker B: It's sweating time. It's okay to wear shorts if you wanna and it's okay to watch sports if you wanna and if you wanna be dorks of any sort well, that's quite alri. Why do we take ourselves so seriously? Set down the rules to be cool and sweat through our skinny jeans what am I supposed to do when it's 85 degrees? I'm gonna feel that cool, cool breeze on my knees it's okay to wear shorts if you wanna and it's okay to watch sports if you wanna and if you wanna be dorks of any oh well that's quite alright with me why do we take ourselves so seriously? I've got cargo pockets for everything I need what am I supposed to do, man? My grandma got me these. I'm gonna feel that cool, cool breeze on my knees it's okay to wear shorts if you wanna and it's okay to watch sports if you wanna, you want to be dorks of any sort well, that's quite all right with me and if you want to be dorks of any sort well, that's a. Okay with me.

Speaker A: All right, thanks guys. That was Shorts Song for Shorts People off the album Life's Too Short for Girth Control. It's. God, those guys are fun to listen to. Jesus. And yes, yes. The second person for Friday is Chris Busson. So this gentleman's been around the music scene for quite some time now. He's been covered by a lot of people. He's Made his way around a lot of different places that he's been playing. Great artist. And he's gonna be playing at McGarry's Pub at 7pm so, you know McGeary's, go to McGarry's. And I know they're like, what is that a conflict of interest? Not if you drive fast enough, man. Go from one to the other. Duh. Come on, you can. You can make it happen. So from Chris Bu Sohn, this is more. The song is off the album River Street Rochambeau. That's a great album name too.
• 8:12
  Speaker B: Jesus.
• 8:13
Speaker A: All right, so here we go. Chris Bu? Sohn Moore off River Street Rochambeau.
• 8:20
Speaker B: All right. If you really got to. Let's talk about love and all that you gave you saved all the best the summer the man. Let's talk about that. Other small things. The dreams that mixed up they begin. All the stuff that makes canes. Cause life is honey Baby girl, I've been there before. Truth is a luxury in here that I just can't afford. There got to be more. I know there's more. More and more. More and more. It's got to be move I know, I know there's more loving, baby. There's more joy, that's for sure. There's got to be more. L. Rash you want to talk? Let's talk about you all your five friends. You just want to talk and take and talk to me, baby. Till your words make no sense. Cause laugh is holiday baby, I've been there before. Truth is a luxury that I just can't afford. It's got to be I know there's more, there's got to be more. I told you I know there's more loving, baby. There's more joy, that's for sure. There's got to be more. I know there's more, there's got to be more. But let me tell you, I tell you like this. Listen, Sam. I know there for joy, that's for sure. How much can you not take it? I want more. Come give me more.
• 15:11
Speaker A: All right. The name of that song is more off of album. River Street Rochambeau. If you do happen to get punched in the balls after listening to this, it's not the responsibility of myself or Chris. Please keep that in mind. It will just be a random occurrence. All right, that being said. All right, where are we moving on to now? Ah, yes, yes, yes, yes. Our banjo. Those guys are incredible. Andy was just there not too long ago doing a thing over there. It's on YouTube. You should look it up. It was a lot of fun. You should definitely check it out. It was a great night, great bands. But you know what, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Let's check in with our band show and they can tell us what's going on. Take it away, guys.
• 16:03
Speaker B: What is going on? BJ and the unsigned 518 community. Hello, everybody. It is Christian Ivanko, host and producer of our band show. Back again with you this time to talk about an event that we recently just wrapped last weekend, our first ever unsigned 518, our band show showcase. Basically, Andy, the incredible Andy that we all know and love, brought down four amazing artists from the unsigned 518 community to perform on the our band show stage. And we did what we do best. We mic'd them up up, we interviewed them and we let them truly be themselves. And one of those artists is today's feature, Camtron 5000. The first time we've ever had a hip hop artist on the show and what a great performance it was. Camtron brought his classic cinematic storytelling to the our band show set and of course spread the love. And it was a lot of love on the set of our band show last weekend. And as Camtron said, we were given hugs. So without further ado, let's introduce Camtron with the incredible song he performed this weekend.

Speaker C: This next song, it's called in this house, and it's about accepting people for who they are and what they want to do. And then there's a little bit of just kind of lyrics in there, you know, just BS that I like to spit. So here we go. It's hot. In this house we believe in science in this house we believe in love in this house we don't believe in violence in this house we be giving hugs in this house we talk about our feelings in that house they let them out of love in this house House we stack it to the ceiling in this house we believe in trust in this house we believe in science in this house we believe in love in this house we don't believe in violence in this house we be giving hugs in this house we talk about our feelings in that house they let them bottle up in this house we stack it to the ceiling in this house we don't give a In this house I'm feeling like a giant the highest the sky is the limit and I'm flying my time in his perfect I'm a wordsmith like the best I've ever heard maybe I'm biased and my smile is the logo Cam Tron Never child never grow up Life tries to put you in a chokehold don't fold I made it through some nights and they'll be so cold I maybe spit some rhymes and they'll be so hot these other rappers climbing on their soapbox they call me camtron5 cause I'm a robot whatever's in my way cause I'm driving through the roadblocks don't stop, don't stop that's what she gon say they all sound the same But I just do this shit my own way Tell these other mother stay home like a snow day I'm the one they least expected Call me cause they're so say I'm the one that redirects the lightning when it's thrown at me Savage ain't seen nothing like me in anomaly Bad bitch ooh I bet she liked me Cause she on my D I'm about to put my dick in sun I ain't talking Emily making sure that shit gets done cause I'm my almost enemy Fuck the hate they sending me Matter of fact I like the shade Cause hot is what I tend to be I'm going back to Cali On a non stop flight from John F. • 20:50
  Speaker A: Don'T give a fuck.
• 20:52
Speaker C: Shout out our band show. Shout out unsigned 518.
• 20:55
Speaker B: Now let's hear a little bit from Camtron about his creative process.
• 20:58
Speaker C: Yeah, so it's not created, it's fin. And it is like kind of collaborate. So I don't make any of the beats, but I'm so lucky to work with very talented producers. And if I'm just like listening to something on the radio, I might just be feeling that beat and then I'll write something to that. But then we can take it with a producer and kind of completely transform it or just possibly use kind of just the same tempo as like a building block, but then like build off of that. But I've worked with producer Merc. I'm working with a producer, his name's Ursus, and they're both from 518 and super talented. And. Yeah, so I basically, if I need to, I'll find beats on like YouTube or just on the Internet and I'll bring them to these guys who can, like, we. We turn it into something completely new.
• 21:47
Speaker B: I love that. Nothing stops the creativity.
• 21:49
Speaker C: No. And just kind of, you know, be like, don't overthink it. Kind of just be like, you got. You got the Internet right there. Just be resourceful. You can build it from the materials you have it. Like, it doesn't have to be perfect. Doesn't have to be, you know, what you see out there, or it just kind of do what you can with what you can. And that's what I did.
• 22:10
  Speaker B: Yeah.
• 22:10
  Speaker C: Yeah.
• 22:11
Speaker B: I know a lot of artists, they sometimes try to convey a vision and a message in their music. Is that an approach you take? And if so, what would that approach be?
• 22:22
Speaker C: Yeah, it's definitely approach an approach I take, like, as I kind of said previously, like, I like to build that kind of just creative writing that almost fictional, you know, visual. But also sometimes I'll approach it, like, I'll just be feeling, like, stressed out, and that'll cause me to write a song or I'll have just gone through something kind of more emotionally intense and, like, that'll inspire me to write a song. And because there is, like, I don't know, I guess maybe the. The processing of the things you deal with through the kind of creative expression obviously is, like, cathartic. But, yeah, so, like, late. As of late, I've been trying to do songs that are more serious and more about what I experience and more resonating with people who might be going through stuff not to be too preachy, but just to be authentic. But I always love getting back into the bullshit.
• 23:13
Speaker B: Well, that's all from us here at our band show. Hope you guys have a great weekend and we'll see you again in the next weekend spotlight.
• 23:20
Speaker A: All right, thanks, guys. I really appreciate it. That was our band show. And don't forget, if you like our band show, and you should, and if you don't, God, what's wrong with you? You can look them up on YouTube, Instagram, tick tock, and Facebook, or you can just go to www.ourbandshow.com, check out what they're doing. It's amazing. It's fun. It's so good for the 518 music scene. And you should really kind of just delve into it. There's so many. You'd be surprised how many are artists that you know and love have been. Have been on their show. And I cannot overstate it enough. Check it out. Please, please, please. All right. And it is that time of the show, then we're doing the Metroland Now's hot single of the week, thrown together by not thrown together. Carefully crafted by T.J. foster. Might I say throwing together together. I think it might be an Jesus. It's like this weird latent thing now carefully cultivated by T.J. foster. And this week we are going with Simple Machine and their song Follow Me. So this is Dave Tayo, the consummate musician. Musician who is almost worryingly musically talented. This guy is just. Just multifaceted. He plays so many different instruments. It's insane. And Simple Machine is such a great band with such a great varied sound to it. So, yes. So here is Simple Machine. Follow me.
• 25:15
Speaker B: You couldn't teach me nothing if you tried. I saw the things I needed and I locked them in my mind. The morning sun gets jealous every time. Cause he sees the way I'm beaming and he feels ashamed to shine. Come and see, don't be shy. Promise you I know that I'm your favorite guy. Then come and say loud and clear all the ways you know that I'm the leader here. You could say I'm disarming with a certain charm. And it's natural to be scared. But more than just your crush I trust you've come to me prepared. When I say I'm getting ready to knock em down well I mean I'm gonna break the mold you're with me luckily we'll fig you. What I mean is prepare to watch me tear this wilder basis. Follow me it's been spoken since the dawn of time. Some are built a little better. Some are born to fall behind. Clearly I'm a former born to shine Destiny guaranteed to come and see how I let madness enter me. You could say I have a little complex yeah. And I know I'm kind of losing my shape. But I'm more than just a madman. I can be your advocate. When I say I'm getting ready to blow your mind. What I mean is that I'm on my endless grind. It's a race at a place you can't take. It's a shame you're not made toe turn this goddamn world could be s like me. Silent silence gather to me say you follow me. Ooh, I feel a rush. What could this be? And I see a light and it's burning straight out through me. I explode to the floor on my clothes listening and you can pout out. Doubt me if you'd like and I promise not to blame thee. Not equipped to sniff divine I'm not afraid, I need no alibi. Cause I'm just a humble genius with the balls to take what's mine. And now you'll pray before me. You best believe I'm watching close for loyalty. You could say I'm demanding. But it's only that I care deeply for your soul. So excuse me as I take you won't be needing that control. When I said I was your battle well it's only fact. So I'm sorry but you better start to accept that. Understand? That's the plan. That's my man. Take my hand and away. She wants me tear this world happy dance, follow me wherever you want to follow.
• 28:57
