- 0:22Speaker 1: Hey, welcome back.
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's the North Florida Sports Network.
- 0:25Speaker 1: We're going to talk about the draft.
- 0:29Speaker 1: We're going to go through who we think should be the top picks as we get ready for Thursday night and round one of the draft Touch on the NBA playoffs.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I haven't really been in good games, except for the one last night in Denver I got Miami contributor Justin.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Might as well start just calling me basketball contributor.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Basketball contributor.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Justin, we'll see, man, we'll see, I think well yeah, I don't know man this football season.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Show contributor Justin.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Show contributor man this football season.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Show contributor Justin.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Show contributor Justin.
- 1:09Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Show contributor Jimmy.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Just that, jimmy Reno here.
- 1:15Speaker 3: That guy lives in the corner.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Last night man LA.
- 1:21Speaker 1: That's a heartbreaking loss for them.
- 1:22Speaker 1: They came out on fire.
- 1:24Speaker 1: They were playing well.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Anthony Davis was doing it all, but you look up the second half.
- 1:32Speaker 1: The Nuggets found their way back and at the end Jamal Murray was the game winner and at the end of the day Joker was another triple-double.
- 1:41Speaker 1: He just does it all.
- 1:43Speaker 3: And you know what?
- 1:44Speaker 3: Somebody who didn't watch that game got from all of it.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Early waking up this morning, all I heard about was LeBron complaining about the officials, Nothing about the game.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Well, I mean the Joker hit all his free throws.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah, sounds like a really good game.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Dude hit it like the last minute, right Last second shot.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Last season they were close games, but the Nuggets won them all.
- 2:09Speaker 2: I think the Lakers have lost 10 consecutive games To the Nuggets right now, and they're big close too.
- 2:14Speaker 1: So it's hard to believe.
- 2:15Speaker 1: You know you can keep losing close games like that, but I mean, when it was crunch time the Lakers missed a shot.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The Denver got the rebound.
- 2:23Speaker 1: They didn't call time out, which is what you do when you got a guy, you try.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's why you got a guy like the joker right who does everything but not to admit.
- 2:33Speaker 1: But you got a closer as well and jamal murray, and he just took over.
- 2:37Speaker 1: He takes the ball, shoots a fadeaway, jumper in the corner, just nothing but the bottom of the net in the face of anthony davis and that was it.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It was 2-0 denver and then that's it.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That was like the only good game.
- 2:55Speaker 2: You know, the heat got blown out the every game this weekend was a blowout, do you think?
- 3:00Speaker 2: I mean the closest one was the sixers in the knicks?
- 3:03Speaker 2: Um, uh, saturday, right, um, and I mean the closest one was the Sixers and the Knicks Saturday, and I mean still the Knicks won by like seven or eight points and again the Sixers kind of kept it close with the Knicks again last night but couldn't close it out yet again.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Man, I mean, I think we got to start questioning Embiid at this point.
- 3:19Speaker 2: I mean, I know he's not healthy, but dude's never made it out of the second round of the playoffs.
- 3:23Speaker 1: That's true.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You can't keep saying like I hear all these talking heads talking about Embiid is up there with you know, the David Robinsons and the Hakeem Olajuwans, as, like these all-time great centers, it's like dude, win more than one playoff series.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Like he's got a great skill set.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I mean, like I, I love Joel Embiid, but we can't keep calling him great when he apparently is just a guy that pads stats.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, you're talking about Akeem now.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Right, and the Admiral.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You're right though.
- 3:50Speaker 3: You can't be.
- 3:50Speaker 1: you're right, this is where you make a name for yourself is this time in the playoffs.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I mean, we'll see if anybody can steal game two Slow El Embiid right now man.
- 4:00Speaker 1: But the Suns did not run down ready.
- 4:09Speaker 1: The pelicans came up a little bit short.
- 4:10Speaker 2: They almost got one.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Um well, I hope he's eye on coming back for the pelicans could mean something.
- 4:13Speaker 2: This series they.
- 4:14Speaker 1: They got close against.
- 4:15Speaker 1: That's a 1-8 matchup.
- 4:17Speaker 1: That's a little close.
- 4:19Speaker 3: That could be a good series right there you guys think the magic are done, not yeah they're just, they don't have enough.
- 4:25Speaker 1: They don't have enough I mean they can't shoot.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I was at, if you watch, we talked about it.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I picked the magic.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I was completely picking with my heart.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I had.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yes, I did too.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I have.
- 4:35Speaker 1: No, I had that.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I mean, first of all, the calves have experience and donovan mitchell has been in the playoffs several times and been in some huge matchups and that and scored a lot of points, like over 50 a bunch.
- 4:50Speaker 1: So that experience alone is more than anyone on the court.
- 4:55Speaker 1: So had that with he.
- 4:57Speaker 1: They have a pretty good squad there and there's just nobody that on the magic yet that you can say it's going to take over the game.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't score in the mid-80s in an NBA playoff game and expect to win.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Right, but I mean I like what they're doing.
- 5:14Speaker 1: It's a great season for Orlando.
- 5:16Speaker 1: I mean they just need to add maybe a big free agent or something.
- 5:20Speaker 2: They need to get a shooter, because that's one thing they, that's one thing they're, they're seriously lacking is is just like a killer shooter.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Like uh, I mean like even like uh, when I was watching the Knicks game the other day, uh, like a buddy healed buddy healed would fit really well in.
- 5:35Speaker 1: uh, in Orlando Cause that's exactly what they need.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I was wrong.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I thought I thought they would bow out.
- 5:40Speaker 1: You know I, they bow out.
- 5:47Speaker 1: You know I.
- 5:47Speaker 1: They got the two seed late.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You know I thought it was just.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You know great, you know end of the season streak, you know when not many people are playing and arresting people and you're getting ready for the playoffs or whatnot.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But they were able to squeeze out those two games.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Um, I, I, I don't know that that's a series I still see going, maybe six or seven.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Um, I don't know about the other ones in the East.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Uh, I mean, it looks like I was wrong about Indiana, but we'll see.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I haven't seen one really play of the Pacers yet, but let's get it yeah.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's still early in all these series.
- 6:20Speaker 2: And it goes back and forth Um yeah, once you lose a home game, that's.
- 6:25Speaker 2: That's when an nba playoff series starts.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, I forgot about that.
- 6:28Speaker 2: You know that's, that's the the rule yeah, the rule right, so you didn't have a series that finishes and never starts yeah, we're basically still in the plan, right all right, well, it's also draft week.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Finally, it feels like a whole, feels like it's been forever, but the all the hoopla is coming to an end.
- 6:50Speaker 1: We're going.
- 6:52Speaker 1: We got draft one round one Thursday night.
- 6:56Speaker 3: There's really no mystery to the number one.
- 6:58Speaker 1: There's really no mystery to the number one pick, so we're going to say who would you take Number one if you were Chicago?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Well, anybody that isn that listened into this podcast since day one knows exactly who I'm taking.
- 7:13Speaker 2: If I'm the gm of the chicago bears and it's drake may, there's no question about it in my mind.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I think caleb williams is a bust okay I don't see anything.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I haven't seen caleb williams win ever well I did.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I saw him do good things.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I saw him play really well at oklahoma.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Ever since day one I think he's been one of those guys who's been the highest rated dude.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He was won a heisman trophy.
- 7:38Speaker 1: He he picked up the ball one time and he ran for a touchdown after, like he f, he fumbled it.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, listen, yeah, that ain't going to happen in the NFL.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Right, you know what's going to happen in the NFL.
- 7:52Speaker 2: He's going to fumble it and look like Cam Newton in the Super Bowl.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Here's what bothers me about Caleb Williams is he just seems to rely on nothing other than his God-given talent in games, and when you get to the NFL, everybody up there has that special God given talent.
- 8:10Speaker 2: That's what I remember.
- 8:11Speaker 2: That's what I remember from his time at Oklahoma.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I never saw him being an elite quarterback at Oklahoma.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I saw him being a great athlete, right yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Probably the best arm in the draft you know other than Joe Milton, but like in terms of being able to hit your target best arm in the draft.
- 8:27Speaker 1: So you're taking Drake May one if you're Chicago.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Who are you taking?
- 8:30Speaker 1: One if you're Chicago, Jimmy?
- 8:32Speaker 3: Me If I'm Chicago.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I would have traded that pick.
- 8:34Speaker 3: I would not have gotten rid of Justin Fields.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I'm trading and building up that offensive line, which is still going to be a problem, and now you're going to have Caleb Williams running around.
- 8:44Speaker 3: He's going to look just like Kyler Murray, except a little bit bigger.
- 8:48Speaker 3: It's going to be that gunslinger.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I mean, it's why they're the Bears, it's why they're the Bears, it's why they never have a good quarterback, it's why they?
- 8:58Speaker 1: you know Well, this is the kind of you take a chance on.
- 9:00Speaker 1: This guy might be that generational talent.
- 9:03Speaker 3: But what do you have?
- 9:03Speaker 1: to find a coach to coach him.
- 9:06Speaker 1: So he'll you know.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Look at last year.
- 9:08Speaker 1: He had drafted young out of Alabama and he had nothing around him, so his coach didn't even want him.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Chicago's got more than Carolina and I think the fact that a lot of people want them.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You know he'll get what's going to happen in the locker room.
- 9:23Speaker 1: People rag him about his nails or something.
- 9:26Speaker 1: He had a little LA Everybody goes out there, you know, goes a little gay.
- 9:30Speaker 3: I don't think that he has the maturity that Justin Fields has.
- 9:34Speaker 3: When he was coming out of the draft, you know everything Justin Fields went through at the University of Georgia, transferring up to Ohio State.
- 9:43Speaker 1: What's crazy is that we'll find out.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I mean, it's supposed to be a consensus number one pick here.
- 9:49Speaker 1: I mean it's coming to the.
- 9:51Speaker 3: That's just maybe all the hype, but no I mean there's no drama about who's going to be the pick.
- 9:55Speaker 1: I wanted to keep my job yeah, they've already gotten rid of field and they're taking, they're taking um, they're taking williams in and I think he's a buzz too all right.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Well, so you're you who?
- 10:09Speaker 1: But who would you take?
- 10:10Speaker 1: So you're gonna try to trade, but if you had to take one, I had to take one quarterback and you had to step up there and your job's on the line.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Who you taking out of these four quarterbacks that are probably going to go top of the draft?
- 10:22Speaker 3: at all those qbs I would probably lean towards may as well, just because of the adversity that he's faced, but I'm not taking a QB.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Oh, you're going to do the draft day move.
- 10:37Speaker 1: That's right, oh man, oh yeah.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Oh, sonny Weaver, Sonny Weaver, there we go, it's that time of year, baby, that's right, it is that time of year.
- 10:46Speaker 1: We'll have to get there later.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Find me a linebacker, which one of these guys is not getting in.
- 10:51Speaker 1: We got to check the birthday party invites for all the quarterbacks.
- 10:54Speaker 3: That's right, nobody's going to Caleb Williams birthday.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Kidding me, I mean we had the Will Levis.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I thought he was the Bo Callahan if there ever was a real life.
- 11:05Speaker 3: He sat there in the green room.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeah To be fair to Caleb Williams, his mom would show up there so he could fall uncontrollably while she hugged him because nobody else showed up.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I don't know, man, I guess I'll take Caleb Williams if I was the Bears in my job, depending on it Right, because you're going to put butts in seats and everybody's going to come in and that's all anybody cares about.
- 11:29Speaker 1: I've seen him play.
- 11:30Speaker 1: You're right and you just got to hope.
- 11:32Speaker 1: If you're an NFL coach, you should be good enough to coach him.
- 11:39Speaker 3: One thing I know about Matt Eberfluss is that he's got the chops.
- 11:43Speaker 3: How many wins does he have as head coach?
- 11:47Speaker 3: Like nine, three years Maybe.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I mean they say they're starting to lose close games.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Maybe they need to take that other step.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I mean, who knows?
- 11:55Speaker 3: It's the NFL man.
- 11:55Speaker 3: You lose close games.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Yeah, chicago haven't had a star at quarterback, I mean.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Since old Marlboro man himself right, Jay Cutler.
- 12:09Speaker 1: This is it's old Marlboro man himself, right, Jay Cutler, Right.
- 12:10Speaker 1: So he's day one going to be the biggest star that Chicago's had at that position in a long time Right.
- 12:12Speaker 3: and then all the rumors about him trying to trade and get Marvin Harrison's union Well.
- 12:17Speaker 1: New England's taking offers at the three.
- 12:19Speaker 1: That's going to be interesting because Minnesota the coordinator there was the high school coach of drake may.
- 12:32Speaker 2: So if that's and then.
- 12:35Speaker 2: Oh, that fit would be perfect yeah.
- 12:38Speaker 1: So if you could go, if you're one of these quarterbacks usually if you're taking at the top of the draft, if you can get one of these teams that has talent, that trade down, trade up and get you, that's ideal for you, because that's a win-win right there.
- 12:52Speaker 1: If you don't have weapons and if you don't have a team around you, good luck.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I mean, you saw what happened to young last year and it can be rough you get the right situation and you're looking at that.
- 13:02Speaker 3: Stealers with Roethlisberger type stuff.
- 13:04Speaker 1: That's why maybe one of these quarterbacks, you know, but at the top of the draft who's going to be the next level?
- 13:14Speaker 1: You have kind of the same way.
- 13:15Speaker 1: At receiver you got the first three guys that are going to get taken.
- 13:19Speaker 1: I mean, you could very well have all quarterback and receiver, the top seven picks of this draft maybe.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Yeah, God, that'd be great for everybody down on the backside of that draft If the top seven picks are all receivers and quarterbacks.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Man, you're going to be able to draft the number two guy on your board at number 12.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I mean, once they go, they go in bunches.
- 13:45Speaker 1: That's been the tendency of the receivers.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Who's the Out of all the receivers, though I'll do the same thing about these group of receivers.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Out of all the receivers if you had, if your job's on the line, you need a receiver.
- 14:01Speaker 1: You're Arizona because they're probably going to take receiver.
- 14:04Speaker 1: What are they picking five Right?
- 14:08Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I don't pay attention to the Cardinals.
- 14:12Speaker 1: All right.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Well, you're the first in every mock draft.
- 14:15Speaker 1: I haven't taken receiver, all right.
- 14:18Speaker 1: So, justin, who are you taking out of all these receivers?
- 14:23Speaker 2: You've got to take Marvin and he's the most well-rounded one.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Like, you got a speedster kid out of LSU.
- 14:29Speaker 2: But I mean we've seen these speedster receivers that get drafted that only run one route and how they turn out.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Marvin Harrison Jr can run the whole route tree.
- 14:40Speaker 2: He's got great hands, he's got the speed, he's got the size.
- 14:42Speaker 2: I mean I don't see how you could pass on Marvin Harrison Jr if you needed a wide receiver right, arizona has the fourth pick.
- 14:50Speaker 1: So I mean, unless you see the trade there, which you could very well see someone's going to come up and try to get JJ McCarthy I see the Chargers probably trading, with the Harbaugh being there, I see them trading down.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the Chargers.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I've see them trading down.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the chargers.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I've already heard plenty of talk about the chargers, like maybe nothing official, but it makes way too much sense for the charter.
- 15:14Speaker 2: If not, they're gonna get a receiver tackle, you get a weapon.
- 15:19Speaker 1: If they're gonna stay at five, you're gonna draft.
- 15:21Speaker 1: They're gonna see them get a receiver, but I say they, they're probably gonna draft down, um, so you're taking hair.
- 15:27Speaker 1: What about you, jimmy?
- 15:28Speaker 1: If you're out of all these receivers, you taking neighbors over them, or?
- 15:31Speaker 3: no, I'm not taking either one of the lsu guys okay if there was an argument to be made, I think it would be the kid from washington.
- 15:39Speaker 3: But yeah, rome rome adunze just because a the offense that he played in and the fact that, you know, michael pennix was actually one of the worst accurate quarterbacks in terms of throwing on target.
- 15:53Speaker 3: A lot of the catches that those receivers made in Washington were, quote unquote, outside the normal catch radius.
- 16:00Speaker 3: But dude, whatever that's nerd stats.
- 16:04Speaker 3: I agree with Justin Dude.
- 16:06Speaker 3: I don't think that you cannot draft Marvin Harrison whatever that's nerd stats.
- 16:08Speaker 3: I agree with Justin dude.
- 16:09Speaker 3: I don't think that you cannot draft Marvin Harrison Jr.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I mean, the kid is, you know, he comes from NFL greatness and everything he said is true the whole route tree.
- 16:18Speaker 3: He's got the speed and the size, so it's probably Arizona.
- 16:21Speaker 1: that's going to trade.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Yeah, because you're going to see someone like Daniel Jones is out.
- 16:27Speaker 1: That experiment's over, so the Giants are going to come up and get.
- 16:31Speaker 3: There's been a lot of talk of the Giants being really interested in May.
- 16:35Speaker 3: I hope for the kids' sake that that's not who picks them up.
- 16:38Speaker 1: That's going to be the, that'll be the thing to watch.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Because right now you're saying, I think it's, even though Justin likes May.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Right now you're saying and I think it's even though justin likes may and you know it's it really depends on who goes to the best situation for them.
- 16:52Speaker 1: And you know that could happen a lot differently.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I mean because you never know if mahomes works out, if it's not andy reed and the chiefs, um, so it's.
- 17:02Speaker 1: It's really tough when you're, when you're at top of the draft and you're going to these bad teams, but I see the Giants coming in and taking and a lot of people like JJ McCarthy.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I don't I don't get it.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I do not get it.
- 17:17Speaker 3: He's won.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I like him in.
- 17:19Speaker 2: like the fourth round, yeah he's Zach Wilson again, dude, he's Zach Wilson, who had a very impressive pro day, and that's it.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Yeah, and these pro days, man, these things are so orchestrated now, except he played at Michigan and not BYU Right.
- 17:34Speaker 3: He played for Harbaugh.
- 17:35Speaker 3: But, no man, not a first-round pick.
- 17:39Speaker 1: No, well, that's who they're going to get.
- 17:41Speaker 1: If the Giants are trading up, they're going to get someone's trading up to get him, and Drake May.
- 17:48Speaker 3: It just feels like some franchises refuse to just sit this one out.
- 17:52Speaker 3: You know, like guys we're not going to get our QB in this draft.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Let's just try to take a shot next year.
- 17:58Speaker 3: But the Giants keep doing the same thing over and over again.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I'll say this, though, about Jaden Daniels, though.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I mean he has an ability that nobody has.
- 18:11Speaker 1: I mean, he can take it to the house on his legs.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Nobody can do that.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Him and Drake May are the two QBs at the top of the draft.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I like the best yeah.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Drake May is fast and he is big.
- 18:26Speaker 2: But he does not's a big athletic kid man like jayden daniels, no no, jayden daniels can take like a lamar jackson gear he's got the extra gear that he needs and I think he throws it better than jackson does.
- 18:38Speaker 1: He's coming out, but jackson threw it pretty good.
- 18:42Speaker 3: He just yeah, it just looks unorthodox yeah, it does you know jackson was a kid.
- 18:47Speaker 3: People were trying to make a wide receiver a defensive back his whole high school career.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Daniels has been groomed quarterback so he's going to look a little more polished mechanically.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Who's going to trade up for the third pick?
- 19:01Speaker 1: Because, if you like, drake May and you know there's somebody that feels the same way that Justin does who's going to be that team, minnesota, watch out for them.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I would say minnesota makes the most sense if I'm not, to me yeah, if I was the may family, I would be rooting for that I mean you have the familiarity with the coach and yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's a good coaching staff too, not just what's-his-name.
- 19:24Speaker 1: It is a good coaching staff.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I like them, as well as the Browns staff.
- 19:27Speaker 2: And he's got weapons and he's already got weapons on the team man.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I mean Jordan Addison started coming on strong last year with Justin Jefferson out.
- 19:35Speaker 2: They got Justin Jefferson coming back.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, that's correct.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I mean Drake May will pick apart defenses in the NFC North with those weapons.
- 19:44Speaker 3: You kind of look at UNC and what he did with Josh Downs and you get to the NFL and you got a better Josh Downs and Jordan Addison and that's just with Justin Jefferson on the outside, man it it yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Well, after those first four quarterbacks you know, because I always you know if you look at it a while ago or if you watch the rankings Deja McCarthy is the late one.
- 20:07Speaker 1: That's rent that stacked up the most after the play is stopped.
- 20:10Speaker 1: You know his I was hearing about.
- 20:14Speaker 1: You know Kayla Williams, forever.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Right, he was always been the projected number one.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I just feel like McCarthy is?
- 20:22Speaker 3: is the the propaganda machine that kind of comes with?
- 20:25Speaker 1: all the way ahead of, uh, the next round.
- 20:28Speaker 2: So who do you like out of Bo Nix or Phoenix, I like I like Bo Nix man, I like Bo Nix, I like, I really like Bo Nix dude.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I think Bo Nix to Denver is the move.
- 20:39Speaker 2: I think he fits.
- 20:41Speaker 2: I think he fits With Sean Payton's offense this perfectly dude.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yeah, and Nick's is mobile enough.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I mean, it's a perfect, perfect fit.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I think Payton is a Is a great coach.
- 20:51Speaker 1: For the short passes and.
- 20:52Speaker 3: For Bo Nix's mentality.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Right To be able to just calm that when he's calm and just Just going without thinking.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you saw what he did.
- 21:00Speaker 3: He can be kind of Drew Brees-esque, yeah yeah, I mean that would be kind of a natural fit Peanuts.
- 21:06Speaker 3: I have a lot of questions.
- 21:08Speaker 1: They went and just got the guy from the Jets.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know why they did that other than Jets Because they got him for nothing and he's talented.
- 21:18Speaker 1: And you know, sean, if anybody like you just said about this guy, if Peyton can get that of one of the guys, he finds out which one's better.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Right If you can do it, he he seems to be able to both first round talents.
- 21:33Speaker 1: If you get them both in the first round, it really doesn't matter which one.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Which one you can tap into.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he just wants somebody.
- 21:37Speaker 3: That's all about football and.
- 21:39Speaker 3: I think you know.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Bo Nix is it is coming.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Family Wilson, you know he came from out there and then he went to New York, so this will get him back towards the mountains.
- 21:50Speaker 1: You know, and I think it's one of those you know you take it's like if you're that if you get drafted in the first round you get longer, people are going to try to.
- 21:58Speaker 1: If it doesn't work for you in the first team, you're going to be a project, or at least a couple more you can hang around a lot longer.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Well, actually you know why I just thought of this, why Zach Wilson is a good fit in Denver.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Yeah, because all his mom's friends live out there.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Right, that's exactly.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I mean, it's just the familiarity.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just saying going to like 23?
- 22:24Speaker 2: .
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and then going out to be the freaking quarterback of the Jets.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Come on, that's a miserable place to be a quarterback Right right.
- 22:30Speaker 1: So I mean, that's what you see, there is value and that's what Sean Payton's tapping into.
- 22:40Speaker 1: They'll be interesting to see what the Broncos do at quarterback with that move.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Now.
- 22:41Speaker 1: If they take one or if they don't, that'll be a telltale sign, you know watch the guy out of Tulane.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Yeah, Michael Pratt.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Pratt.
- 22:50Speaker 3: I like him a lot.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:52Speaker 3: I was hoping that he would, a couple years ago, jump in the portal and FSU would even make it and it's just tough.
- 22:57Speaker 1: You know, if you see a guy I mean Jordan Travis I don't know if he'll get a chance, if he's late round, maybe somebody takes a flyer.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I'd be stunned if he got drafted just because nobody's seen him post-injury.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I imagine he'll get interviews.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Maybe, private workouts.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Someone's going to take a chance.
- 23:15Speaker 1: He's a quarterback.
- 23:17Speaker 2: If I got a late round draft pick and I need quarterback depth, I absolutely take Jordan Travis.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Especially what happened with a guy like Purdy.
- 23:24Speaker 1: You, I need quarterback depth.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I absolutely take Jordan Travis, especially what happened with a guy like Purdy.
- 23:26Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 23:26Speaker 1: That's going to change mentality here.
- 23:28Speaker 1: They're going to be like man.
- 23:29Speaker 1: You see, a quarterback with that kind of experience it's worth a shot, you know.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Yeah, it really is.
- 23:36Speaker 3: This is going to be a big season for the whole Brock Purdy thing.
- 23:39Speaker 1: If you're in the right situation, you put the right guy and you can see like a guy, like trap if he's healthy, I could see him working.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Jordan travis would actually jordan travis would actually work really well in the dolphins, yeah it's really, it's just hell with him, it's health, you know, and that's what's always been the case so timing routes that speed if he, if he doesn't lose too much of that speed because he's very he.
- 24:03Speaker 1: What impressed me the most last couple years is the, his efficiency.
- 24:07Speaker 1: He didn't turn the ball over and that's what you got to have in the nfl um okay.
- 24:11Speaker 1: So that's what else you guys in the first round.
- 24:15Speaker 1: What else are the big stories in the first round?
- 24:17Speaker 1: I'm looking forward, you know, because you know you can tell, fsu's made it back kind of.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Now that you can see, oh, there's going it back.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Now that you can see, oh, there's going to be guys drafted on top of the draft, and nobody had it better than when the Miami Hurricanes had so many draft picks in the first round.
- 24:34Speaker 1: And that's how you can tell, because that Miami hasn't been good Well as we get closer to the draft.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Justin, who are you looking forward to Miami getting who's drafted out of Miami?
- 24:44Speaker 2: I'm interested to see the two safeties man.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, kitchens yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Kitchens and Williams.
- 24:49Speaker 2: That's it, though.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Right, yeah, I can't think of anybody else.
- 24:55Speaker 2: I mean, maybe what's his name?
- 24:57Speaker 2: Colby Young.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:59Speaker 2: The wide receiver is a later round pick, didn't he?
- 25:02Speaker 1: No, I thought he transferred to Georgia.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, he did just transfer.
- 25:06Speaker 1: He got drafted by the Bulldogs man.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Semi-pro.
- 25:09Speaker 1: So that's what sucks is like when he gets drafted.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Now he's going to say out of Georgia.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Maybe, or just say out of whatever high school.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but that's what you do, but as we get, closer to the draft.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Man Jared Ver seems to just.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Dynamite on that one, justin, I love it.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Falling.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I've seen some that got to go to Miami.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I think, Jared, you're getting a good pick there.
- 25:32Speaker 1: I would take him.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean, he's so strong and he's fast.
- 25:36Speaker 3: But he's right now.
- 25:38Speaker 1: He's the only one, he's got a motor.
- 25:39Speaker 3: In the first round.
- 25:45Speaker 1: If you're gonna, the best two line I mean fisk and verse are gonna work because they have motors and they're great, they love the game they're, they're from like they've, they've.
- 25:52Speaker 1: They've been places that nobody you know, but nobody thought they'd be there.
- 25:57Speaker 1: They've done it the hard way and I'm I'm a fan of both those guys.
- 26:02Speaker 1: I mean, they're both transfers looks like you know.
- 26:04Speaker 1: That's just yeah, they're both.
- 26:05Speaker 2: I Looks like you know.
- 26:05Speaker 2: That's just– yeah, they're both transfers.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I was actually going to bring up Fisk, because he reminds me of the D-tackle for the Dolphins Siler Sealer whatever the guy that played next to Christian Wilkins, right.
- 26:17Speaker 1: He's a guy that you can rely on.
- 26:19Speaker 1: At that position, that's going to a tough dude.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that position, that's going to tough, a tough dude.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Hey, you gotta have those guys.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I mean, what was great about fist this last year is you you didn't really had in the beginning of the season, you didn't really see it, but he was there just bulldozing way and then, like, as the season wears on, he was still there doing it and it got better, it hit.
- 26:36Speaker 1: That's looked at in the nfl like the grind only continues to get more.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah, and his ability to stay strong and get and improve.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I'm thinking someone's gonna, someone's really likes him already.
- 26:49Speaker 1: You know I could, you're gonna get.
- 26:50Speaker 3: You're gonna get a good player.
- 26:51Speaker 3: There's a few, I mean dude, if it, if the timing is right, I'd be shocked if the colts don't pick him um right it's just a matter of you know if they got to do it in the second round or the first round so that's the question.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I'm looking for it.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Uh, just I'm seeing if the knolls get, how many they get in the first round, or if any I think versus verse and you could see the wild cards are keon, coleman and fisky and fisk yeah, those are probably day two guys?
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yep, if you had to bet on it right.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I think someone takes coleman in the first right.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I think somebody at position is so.
- 27:26Speaker 1: The position is such a you mean, you see it, you've seen it last few years when receivers start to go and if it goes like we think we are, the top three are going to be taken, like that, off the board.
- 27:37Speaker 1: There's going to be a next.
- 27:39Speaker 1: He's going to be like oh, who's the top receiver?
- 27:42Speaker 1: We got to have a guy, and this is a guy that can produce in the red zone and it's all about scoring points.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I agree with you.
- 27:50Speaker 3: If he's on the board when the 49ers pick.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I think he's going to go late first.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Because I think it's a certainty that the 49ers are going wide receiver If he's on the board and they don't pick him Right.
- 28:06Speaker 2: How about Ke pick him right now about keon coleman to the chiefs?
- 28:07Speaker 2: Oh man there we go chiefs.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Chiefs are desperate for a wide receiver right now.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I could see that you know you get a last pick in the first round.
- 28:11Speaker 2: It makes perfect sense again there you go well damn, I don't want that suck on that milk kuiper well, you gotta go, that's all right, but the playoffs continue.
- 28:24Speaker 2: Yeah, the Heat get curbed stomp on Wednesday, just an FYI.
- 28:30Speaker 1: What's different about this Boston team than the last few years?
- 28:35Speaker 2: Porzingis.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:36Speaker 2: It's all Porzingis dude.
- 28:37Speaker 2: That guy is a freak, he's an alien.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Right, and then when you get him as like the third wheel now, yeah, that's one hell of a pressure.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, I was just like when you bring him in, you kind of just like ditched.
- 28:51Speaker 1: It didn't work with the you know the hustle, the hustle team with you know all the, all the guys that worked their butts off.
- 28:58Speaker 1: That team was good, but it wasn't good enough.
- 29:00Speaker 1: So they made the moves to bring in the guys around jalen brown and tatum, like and drew holiday holiday again.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Another guy.
- 29:12Speaker 1: That man though what are what two guys that there's no pressure on you can bring in a guy like drew holiday, who's been on team usa again.
- 29:20Speaker 1: He's going to be on team usa moving forward.
- 29:22Speaker 1: That has been.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I mean, what was the little feisty dude?
- 29:27Speaker 1: They had that one defensive player of the year for the Celtics last couple years.
- 29:32Speaker 2: Oh.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Marcus Smart.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they had Smart.
- 29:33Speaker 1: He's a fan favorite and a hard dude.
- 29:36Speaker 1: You don't want to try him, but you improved.
- 29:38Speaker 3: He's like 64 years old, right.
- 29:40Speaker 1: You improved.
- 29:40Speaker 1: You got an Olympian-type player, a guy that can lock down defensively in Drew Holiday, and then you got a freak and a matchup nightmare in Porzingis to go along with Jalen Brown and Tatum.
- 29:54Speaker 1: So yeah, good luck, you think the Heat win.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Good luck.
- 29:58Speaker 2: And they still got that son of a bitch that I can't stand.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Derek White and Derek White played great in game one against us on Saturday.
- 30:08Speaker 1: That's true, that is a son of a bitch, that's all I.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Oh crap, we got him.
- 30:13Speaker 1: We got him.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Oh, he gets you.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I'm going to say that ten times a game when I watch the Heat play the Celtics.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Son of a bitch, Derek White.
- 30:22Speaker 1: FSU baseball.
- 30:23Speaker 1: They got they got lost a series to Wake.
- 30:26Speaker 1: The bullpen is the problem there?
- 30:27Speaker 1: That's what Jim Norena is telling you.
- 30:29Speaker 1: They got a big series at Duke coming up.
- 30:31Speaker 1: They're playing tonight at home.
- 30:33Speaker 1: We'll watch that.
- 30:35Speaker 1: The draft this weekend.
- 30:38Speaker 2: And more NBA playoffs.
- 30:40Speaker 1: And the transfer portal is going crazy.
- 30:41Speaker 1: We got to have that one coming up to you as well.
