Transcript
- 0:22Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, Emily A Badi here, you are listening to
- 0:25Speaker 1: five Minute Friday from Hurdle. I am in a good
- 0:30Speaker 1: mood this week, and I want to encourage you to
- 0:35Speaker 1: ask yourself what it is that you're after. Why I
- 0:38Speaker 1: am saying that is that I know so many times
- 0:42Speaker 1: on the show before I have said the sentiment. I've
- 0:44Speaker 1: shared this thought that energy attracts like energy. And on
- 0:49Speaker 1: a week that is commercialized to be all about love,
- 0:53Speaker 1: as a single woman, it could be easy to feel
- 0:57Speaker 1: some kind of way about it, and that's understand but
- 1:01Speaker 1: I have had the best week and I firmly believe
- 1:06Speaker 1: it is because I am exuding love. I once sat
- 1:11Speaker 1: down with Brendan Collinsworth. He was working with Core Power
- 1:15Speaker 1: at the time, helping to develop their first new program
- 1:18Speaker 1: in quite some time, previously a Nike trainer, such a
- 1:22Speaker 1: sweet guy, and he said something that really resonated with me,
- 1:27Speaker 1: which was that if you want love, you must be love.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And in approaching my week this way, I really was
- 1:38Speaker 1: met with so much goodness. I don't just mean by
- 1:44Speaker 1: my friends and my family and the people that I
- 1:46Speaker 1: see all the time, but by complete strangers on the subway,
- 1:51Speaker 1: at the donut shop where I ran to on Tuesday.
- 1:56Speaker 1: In my inbox, unexpected opportunities popping in multiples. Candidly, I
- 2:04Speaker 1: just felt like, because I was approaching my day to
- 2:07Speaker 1: day this week with an optimistic attitude, that I was
- 2:11Speaker 1: being met by the universe with good things. And that's
- 2:16Speaker 1: not to say that every day it's easy to wake
- 2:18Speaker 1: up and choose positivity and light, of course not. However,
- 2:24Speaker 1: if you remind yourself that you have that opportunity, that
- 2:28Speaker 1: it is available to you, even in the moments when
- 2:31Speaker 1: it might not feel that way, you may just be
- 2:35Speaker 1: surprised with how the universe and how the world shows
- 2:38Speaker 1: up for you in return. Earlier, I was on the
- 2:41Speaker 1: phone and I said a sentence that I haven't said
- 2:43Speaker 1: in months. I said, I feel really good in my
- 2:48Speaker 1: body right now. And I don't just mean like in
- 2:51Speaker 1: general with how my body feels, but with the injuries
- 2:55Speaker 1: that I've dealt with for so long. This week I
- 2:57Speaker 1: went on multiple runs and I haven't thought about my
- 3:00Speaker 1: mee at all. And I say this two weeks out
- 3:03Speaker 1: from a marathon, and I believe that it is caused
- 3:08Speaker 1: by the fact that I am choosing where I want
- 3:11Speaker 1: to be in this space. I don't want to sit
- 3:14Speaker 1: in this woe is Me space. I don't want to
- 3:16Speaker 1: sit in this victim mindset. I want to be in
- 3:20Speaker 1: a place where not only I feel in control, but
- 3:23Speaker 1: I have immense amounts of gratitude for what my body
- 3:26Speaker 1: has empowered me to do, even in the moments where
- 3:29Speaker 1: it hasn't operated as I've wished. Right right now, I
- 3:35Speaker 1: feel content and I'm not focused on the things that
- 3:38Speaker 1: I am without, but rather on the goodness that I
- 3:42Speaker 1: am with that I do have. And so my problem
- 3:47Speaker 1: for you this week is what's one highlight from your
- 3:50Speaker 1: past twenty four hours? I literally answer this question every
- 3:54Speaker 1: single day in a notebook when I journal, after I
- 3:57Speaker 1: do my breath work in the morning, and by doing so,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and I've shared this on the show before, it enables
- 4:04Speaker 1: me and empowers me to reflect on the past day
- 4:07Speaker 1: and be more present and think about the good. And so,
- 4:11Speaker 1: maybe you're not at the place right now where you
- 4:13Speaker 1: feel like you can get on this positive mindset train,
- 4:16Speaker 1: and that's okay, but it starts small. And so, what
- 4:21Speaker 1: is one good thing that you can highlight from the
- 4:24Speaker 1: past twenty four hours? Where's your gratitude at? And now
- 4:28Speaker 1: a listener question.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Hey, Emily, this is Janet, longtime listener. I know you
- 4:35Speaker 2: do so many different types of projects and you're such
- 4:38Speaker 2: an entrepreneur, but I was wondering of all the projects
- 4:40Speaker 2: that you do most recently, in which ones do you
- 4:43Speaker 2: feel the most creative? And like are your biggest creative outlets?
- 4:47Speaker 1: Hey Janet, Oh, this is a good one. Okay, When
- 4:50Speaker 1: do I feel my most creative? Generally speaking, I have
- 4:55Speaker 1: a lot of opportunities to feel creative in the work
- 4:57Speaker 1: that I do, And there are two airs specifically that
- 5:01Speaker 1: I feel my most creative, and both of them involve brainstorming.
- 5:06Speaker 1: So the first one is on my bi weekly call
- 5:09Speaker 1: that I have with Chelsea, my assistant. We brainstorm upcoming
- 5:13Speaker 1: content and things for the show, and in that meeting
- 5:17Speaker 1: I love how we get to flex those creativity muscles.
- 5:21Speaker 1: And then the other moments that I feel the most
- 5:25Speaker 1: freely creative are probably the ones where I am concepting
- 5:30Speaker 1: or pitching brands on ways that we can collaborate. And
- 5:33Speaker 1: so what that might look like is I am working
- 5:37Speaker 1: with Adidas on things for the Boston Marathon, and I
- 5:41Speaker 1: know what their objectives are, and then I think about
- 5:45Speaker 1: what within my skill set I could bring to the
- 5:47Speaker 1: table to make that experience great for not only the
- 5:51Speaker 1: customer the individuals that they're trying to engage, but also
- 5:54Speaker 1: for my audience as well. I hear those words come
- 5:57Speaker 1: out of my mouth and it's fun for me because
- 6:00Speaker 1: I never took marketing or marketing classes in college. Yet
- 6:04Speaker 1: so much of what I do now for the show,
- 6:07Speaker 1: for the offerings that I've created, for the lane that
- 6:10Speaker 1: I've carved for myself, is within that wheelhouse, and it's fun.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I'm constantly learning, I'm constantly evolving, and it really does
- 6:20Speaker 1: keep things interesting. Make sure your following the show over
- 6:24Speaker 1: on social It's at Hurdle Podcast. I am over at
- 6:27Speaker 1: Emily a Body Another hurdle conquered. And yes, by the way,
- 6:31Speaker 1: I'll see you in Boston. Catch you guys next time.
