- 0:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Which is out in here. I don't know if they
- 0:20Speaker 2: have it fixed yet, but I will say it's down
- 0:23Speaker 2: to 81 because Pooh brought a fan in.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Thanks, Pooh.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Thanks, Pooh. You're welcome. What a hero. Not all heroes
- 0:28Speaker 2: wear capes. Nope, they don't. All right. If you've got
- 0:32Speaker 2: a secret, 833-787-1029. Confessing, you've got a big secret.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It is a big secret.
- 0:37Speaker 3: And I did tell my mom, but I honestly don't
- 0:40Speaker 3: think that I will ever tell anyone else ever again.
- 0:44Speaker 3: But long story short, so almost nine years.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Ago, I actually gave birth to a little girl. And
- 0:53Speaker 1: I did make a very hard decision to.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Give her up for adoption.
- 0:59Speaker 3: And yeah, it's a really long story, but yeah, it
- 1:05Speaker 3: was a very difficult decision and I don't really want
- 1:08Speaker 3: to get into that, but it was an anonymous adoption actually.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So it was arranged through someone that I trusted and
- 1:14Speaker 3: I never met the parents and.
- 1:16Speaker 1: That was how I wanted to do it. You know, I, I,
- 1:19Speaker 1: that was how I wanted to do it.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 3: So, um, I, over the years, I have spent years
- 1:24Speaker 3: in therapy, uh, you know, dealing with it. And, and
- 1:28Speaker 3: some days I feel like I did the right thing
- 1:30Speaker 3: and other days, you know, it's, it, I regret it
- 1:33Speaker 3: almost like unbearably.
- 1:35Speaker 1: So, um, yeah, I, but it, I made my decision.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And I've lived with it and that's that, but so
- 1:41Speaker 3: here's where things get crazy. Um, so I've worked as
- 1:44Speaker 3: a nanny for several years And about six months ago,
- 1:50Speaker 3: someone that I knew had recommended this family to me
- 1:53Speaker 3: that they were looking for help with their kids, and
- 1:56Speaker 3: they have a son and a daughter. And I'm sure
- 1:59Speaker 3: you can see where this is going, but I swear
- 2:01Speaker 3: to you, the second that I saw the little girl, I.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Just almost fell to my knees.
- 2:07Speaker 3: I can't explain how, but I just— yeah no way
- 2:15Speaker 3: I'm like yes I know what she looked so much
- 2:19Speaker 3: like me when I was little and I don't know
- 2:23Speaker 3: there was a feeling that I just cannot even put
- 2:26Speaker 3: into words that something inside of me recognized her and.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It was for sure this is for sure your biological
- 2:36Speaker 2: daughter well.
- 2:37Speaker 3: So then I started you know, trying to put the
- 2:40Speaker 3: pieces together.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:42Speaker 3: So I found out her age and she was eight
- 2:45Speaker 3: and just about to turn nine, which meant that the
- 2:47Speaker 3: dates completely matched up. And eventually through conversations with her parents, I.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Did find out that she was adopted. And I know,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I know. And it's weird. It's like crazy how the
- 3:02Speaker 1: universe works.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I mean, we don't live in a like some small
- 3:06Speaker 3: tiny town where everybody knows everybody. I mean, we're not
- 3:10Speaker 3: in like the most, the largest city ever either, but
- 3:13Speaker 3: what are the chances? You know, what are the chances?
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And I guess my actual secret, my actual secret is,
- 3:24Speaker 3: so I've been taking care of my own biological daughter
- 3:28Speaker 3: for six months and her parents have absolutely no idea.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Oh, So you didn't actually, so I thought this could
- 3:37Speaker 2: go one of two ways. Like you said, okay, I
- 3:39Speaker 2: can't do this because here's why. But you didn't say
- 3:43Speaker 2: anything and you've never mentioned it to them once or anybody. Right. Right.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Well, no. Well, I told my mom.
- 3:50Speaker 3: And my mom at first thought I was absolutely crazy.
- 3:52Speaker 3: But then the more info that we got, you know,
- 3:56Speaker 3: the more she believes that it could be possible.
- 3:59Speaker 1: And I did almost tell the family in the beginning.
- 4:02Speaker 3: And I actually was almost going to quit because I
- 4:06Speaker 3: just didn't think that I could. you know, emotionally handle it.
- 4:09Speaker 3: But I just kept showing up. And now I can't
- 4:13Speaker 3: imagine not seeing her. I mean, part of me feels
- 4:16Speaker 3: like this is like God's way of bringing us back together.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And I don't know. She has an amazing life.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Her parents are wonderful people. And I can I'm so
- 4:26Speaker 3: grateful for everything that they've given her. But I would
- 4:28Speaker 3: be lying if I said that I wasn't jealous sometimes,
- 4:32Speaker 3: you know, like watching another woman be her mother and
- 4:36Speaker 3: hearing her call someone else mommy and.
- 4:39Speaker 1: It hurts, like, more than I can explain. I can't
- 4:44Speaker 1: even imagine. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Sometimes I look at the two of us, I'm like,
- 4:47Speaker 3: how do other people not see that we look so
- 4:53Speaker 3: much alike? How are people not seeing this? And I
- 4:56Speaker 3: don't know, I feel like your listeners or people would
- 5:00Speaker 3: say that I need to tell her parents, but just
- 5:04Speaker 3: so they know where.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm coming from.
- 5:06Speaker 3: I'm terrified that the second I do that, that they
- 5:08Speaker 3: would fire me and I would never see her again.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And I don't know if I'm around long enough.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Maybe things would be different and maybe someday I would
- 5:16Speaker 3: tell them, but right now, you know, I don't plan.
- 5:18Speaker 1: On saying anything and maybe it's selfish.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Maybe it's selfish, but.
- 5:22Speaker 3: For the first time in like nine years, you know,
- 5:25Speaker 3: I get to be a part of my daughter's life.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Even if she has absolutely no idea who I really am.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Literally gave me the chills. I mean, because this is
- 5:34Speaker 2: I'm trying to think how I would react as a
- 5:36Speaker 2: parent if I was in the situation in their shoes,
- 5:38Speaker 2: because I don't know if I'd be comfortable with it.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And it's not to say anything bad about you or
- 5:45Speaker 2: the decision you made by any means. That's your choice,
- 5:48Speaker 2: your decision. there's so many, what ifs, what if, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 2: you get too emotionally tied and you can't let go
- 5:55Speaker 2: and you start to blur the lines. There's so many things.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I don't know. Candace is a mom. Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I'd be afraid that you guys would connect in a
- 6:01Speaker 4: way that would make her feel uncomfortable or question it,
- 6:04Speaker 4: or God forbid you said something. And then you, you know,
- 6:07Speaker 4: we couldn't have, we didn't have any words to say
- 6:09Speaker 4: about it at the time.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Right. We're not there. But I mean, I'm in putting
- 6:13Speaker 2: myself in your shoes. I can't imagine walking into a
- 6:15Speaker 2: room and you, you felt that connection instantly. You just knew.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Absolutely with really honestly in that second without a shadow
- 6:22Speaker 3: of a.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Doubt that is it that is such a powerful coincidence
- 6:27Speaker 2: yeah the positive part is at least she has an
- 6:29Speaker 2: amazing life yeah you know at least you yes you
- 6:33Speaker 2: get some kind of um closure if you needed it
- 6:36Speaker 2: or not but at least you see it's not a
- 6:38Speaker 2: situation where you're walking into the parents are awful and
- 6:40Speaker 2: it could be worse.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Yeah and i know it's a gift and it's also yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 2: It's crazy Well, keep us up to date. I really
- 6:49Speaker 2: appreciate you sharing that because I know it's pretty emotional,
- 6:51Speaker 2: but please let us know what happens and good luck
- 6:53Speaker 2: with everything.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I will. I will. Thanks for letting me chat it out.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Absolutely. I can't believe how many DMs I'm getting of
- 7:01Speaker 2: people saying I would never let her near my daughter. Right.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I don't trust her. Yeah. Which, it's not her fault
- 7:09Speaker 2: that this happened. I mean.
- 7:10Speaker 4: It's kind of sus.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:12Speaker 1: What are the odds?
- 7:13Speaker 2: Well, someone else said that. They're like, what are the
- 7:15Speaker 2: odds this is going to happen by chance? Some people
- 7:19Speaker 2: don't think it's by chance.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Which is terrifying.
