- 1:05Speaker 2: thought we would put out this extra special episode. A
- 1:07Speaker 2: big thanks to the Netball World Cup for giving us
- 1:09Speaker 2: the information on a basis of trust that we won't
- 1:12Speaker 2: tell anyone in advance. But we can. We can share
- 1:16Speaker 2: this news now.
- 1:17Speaker 1: We're going to scream it from the rooftops now, in fact. Yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 1: This is exciting.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Why don't you do the honours, Catherine?
- 1:23Speaker 1: Well, Tuesday the 10th of November, tickets are... available got
- 1:31Speaker 1: to sign up to the netball world cup 2027.com website
- 1:36Speaker 1: firstly and that will be the sale to the general
- 1:39Speaker 1: public is going to be thursday the 12th of november
- 1:41Speaker 1: through ticker tech this is so exciting the good thing
- 1:44Speaker 1: is it's catering to everybody so there's options for passes
- 1:49Speaker 1: you can do just opening your night which would be
- 1:51Speaker 1: incredible you definitely get to see the australian diamonds play
- 1:54Speaker 1: on opening night that would be incredible can you imagine
- 1:57Speaker 1: the atmosphere Of the very first night of the World Cup.
- 2:00Speaker 1: The very first game. That will be crazy. Brace yourself.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Brace yourself.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Yeah. So we don't know yet who the Diamonds are
- 2:07Speaker 2: going to be playing.
- 2:08Speaker 1: We don't.
- 2:08Speaker 2: But we do know that the Diamonds will be playing
- 2:10Speaker 2: in the very first game on the very first night
- 2:13Speaker 2: of that. But here's the things that you need to know.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And we're going to repeat them a couple of times
- 2:17Speaker 2: because there's some important stuff in here. Tickets will go
- 2:20Speaker 2: on sale to the general public on the 12th of November.
- 2:23Speaker 2: If you are a subscriber... to the netball world cup
- 2:27Speaker 2: and you go there via nwc2027. com free just sign up
- 2:33Speaker 2: subscribe you get the pre-sale which starts on tuesday the
- 2:37Speaker 2: 10th of november at noon so that is noon australian
- 2:42Speaker 2: eastern daylight time i don't know what time that is
- 2:46Speaker 2: in wa should have asked gordy before i got on
- 2:49Speaker 2: but everything is changing at the moment but it is
- 2:51Speaker 2: noon sydney time so make sure that you factor that
- 2:54Speaker 2: in If you're anything like me and you spent last
- 2:56Speaker 2: week in a mad rush trying to get powder finger
- 2:59Speaker 2: tickets and did not get powder finger tickets, you know
- 3:01Speaker 2: that you want to be well and truly prepared for
- 3:03Speaker 2: this by the time you get on. So it's on Ticketex,
- 3:06Speaker 2: so make sure, reset passwords, make sure all of that
- 3:08Speaker 2: stuff is in line. Did I tell you about how...
- 3:10Speaker 2: We spent nearly a whole day of our holiday in
- 3:12Speaker 2: Korea with eight computers set up and got offered Taylor
- 3:16Speaker 2: Swift tickets and then I couldn't get the log on
- 3:18Speaker 2: in time and we had to let those ones.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Go and we had to go back in the next book.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Don't be like me. Don't make the same mistake.
- 3:23Speaker 2: So Tuesday, then remember that that's a week after the
- 3:26Speaker 2: Melbourne Cup. If that means anything to you, go, if
- 3:29Speaker 2: you don't like horse racing, as I don't particularly, think
- 3:31Speaker 2: of it as one week to go until tickets go
- 3:33Speaker 2: on sale. And there are a range of ticket options available.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So what we've seen so far is, is the travel
- 3:40Speaker 2: and hospitality packages. And I know a lot of people
- 3:43Speaker 2: were like, oh, that's expensive. I think these ticket offerings
- 3:47Speaker 2: are incredibly reasonable. And obviously, these are the starting prices.
- 3:51Speaker 2: There will be more expensive offerings for those who are
- 3:54Speaker 2: interested in that. But what we know at the moment
- 3:57Speaker 2: is that there are three interesting pass types that you
- 4:01Speaker 2: can get. So opening night, Catherine, what night is the
- 4:03Speaker 2: opening night?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Opening night is Wednesday the 25th of August. And as
- 4:08Speaker 1: I mentioned, that's going to be two games. So it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: a doubleheader. One is guaranteed to be the Diamonds. As
- 4:12Speaker 1: you mentioned, we don't know who that is. They start
- 4:15Speaker 1: from $ 59. That's two games of netball from less than
- 4:18Speaker 1: $ 30 a game. Unbelievable value. I'd be getting on that
- 4:21Speaker 1: one just to warm you into the whole thing.
- 4:23Speaker 2: That is pretty good.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Well, there's other options. But I was about to say,
- 4:26Speaker 1: but if you are after your full fix of netball
- 4:30Speaker 1: the entire way through– You can get a tournament pass,
- 4:34Speaker 1: one pass, one venue, 64 games of netball. I mean,
- 4:41Speaker 1: how good would that be? Guarantee you'd see every single
- 4:44Speaker 1: country in action. You get to see the playing for
- 4:47Speaker 1: the plate. You get to see playing for the cup.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Of course, there's two competitions within this World Cup tournament.
- 4:52Speaker 1: that would be sensational. Those prices, of course, are a
- 4:55Speaker 1: little bit more expensive, but start from $ 970 for 64
- 5:01Speaker 1: games of netball. Must I say that again? That's a
- 5:04Speaker 1: lot of netball. How great.
- 5:05Speaker 2: And this, in recognition of what our community is too,
- 5:10Speaker 2: Netball World Cup also has child prices. So I was
- 5:14Speaker 2: outraged to find out recently if you are going to
- 5:18Speaker 2: a concert at one of the big arenas, so you've
- 5:20Speaker 2: spent several hundred dollars going to a concert, if you
- 5:23Speaker 2: have a baby who you are breastfeeding– why did I
- 5:25Speaker 2: say baby?– if you have a baby who you are breastfeeding–
- 5:28Speaker 2: and can't leave it home and you want to take it,
- 5:30Speaker 2: that child needs to have its own ticket if you
- 5:33Speaker 2: want to go and see a concert. Netball World Cup,
- 5:35Speaker 2: children under three who are sitting on your lap are free. Now,
- 5:41Speaker 2: I think that is great acknowledgement. of the fact that
- 5:44Speaker 2: this sport often is attended and supported by women and
- 5:49Speaker 2: particularly women who have child caring responsibilities. So the tournament
- 5:55Speaker 2: pass is $ 970 for 64 games for adults and from
- 5:59Speaker 2: $ 579 for 64 games for a child. I tell you,
- 6:04Speaker 2: I'm not going to take any child to 64 games
- 6:06Speaker 2: of netball, but I like the fact that there isn't.
- 6:09Speaker 1: There is an option there. There's an option.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. And in between the two of those is
- 6:14Speaker 2: another package, Catherine.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, the finals pass. Now, this one sounds like it
- 6:18Speaker 1: would be up my alley. Absolutely. This covers the final
- 6:22Speaker 1: four days of competition. So days nine through to days 12.
- 6:27Speaker 1: You get to see both the cup and the plate competitions,
- 6:30Speaker 1: ensuring again that you see all 16 nations that are playing.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And this is obviously going to include the big games
- 6:37Speaker 1: right at the pointy end of the competition. That'll be phenomenal.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Check this price out though. Those start from $ 352 for
- 6:44Speaker 1: the final four days and finals. I mean, that to
- 6:47Speaker 1: me sounds like a bargain. And of course, as you mentioned,
- 6:50Speaker 1: the child tickets are a little cheaper. They are from $ 254. Wow.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Lots to get excited about.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I would consider taking a child to all of the
- 6:58Speaker 2: finals but also just leave me with my friends watching.
- 7:04Speaker 1: We love our children. There's options to take them, absolutely.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Maybe I would take my daughter to the opening night
- 7:10Speaker 2: to those two games there. But, yeah, certainly it wouldn't
- 7:13Speaker 2: be the price. It would just be the not wanting
- 7:15Speaker 2: to do any parenting while I'm watching football, please. Thank you, darling.
- 7:19Speaker 2: So I reckon and I'm actually genuinely surprised at how
- 7:26Speaker 2: cheap these tickets are. First of all, I really love
- 7:27Speaker 2: that we know before they go on sale because I'm
- 7:30Speaker 2: really annoyed lately with getting online to try to buy
- 7:34Speaker 2: something and you know you've got to make a decision
- 7:36Speaker 2: that second and that's the second you find out exactly
- 7:38Speaker 2: what the ticket prices are. So this allows people to
- 7:43Speaker 2: really do some planning there. There is a limit of 10%
- 7:46Speaker 2: of these passes that any one person can buy. I
- 7:49Speaker 2: think that's good too because then you've got, if you've
- 7:52Speaker 2: got a group of friends and someone's not working that
- 7:55Speaker 2: day or someone can take the day off or that
- 7:57Speaker 2: there's a bunch of you who can get online at
- 7:59Speaker 2: the same time and try to buy that, you'll be
- 8:01Speaker 2: able to buy for your friends and sit together. But
- 8:04Speaker 2: just can I put this in a little bit of
- 8:06Speaker 2: perspective about the other tournaments that are happening? So the
- 8:09Speaker 2: Rugby League World Cup is on at the moment. The
- 8:12Speaker 2: Rugby Union World Cup will be on next year in
- 8:15Speaker 2: Sydney as well. Both of those have their finals at
- 8:19Speaker 2: a stadium that sits 80,000 people. Our games will all
- 8:23Speaker 2: be played at Afterpay Arena, which is wonderful, but when
- 8:25Speaker 2: it's set up for netball, there's only 18,000 seats in there. Now,
- 8:28Speaker 2: that means there's 18,000 good seats, you know, that you
- 8:30Speaker 2: can see the court from everywhere. But what it means
- 8:34Speaker 2: is that for the sport to really try to make
- 8:36Speaker 2: some money out of this, you know, once every, you know,
- 8:40Speaker 2: once in a sort of netball generation opportunity that we
- 8:42Speaker 2: get to host this year, They need to be able
- 8:45Speaker 2: to charge some decent prices for tickets. They need to
- 8:48Speaker 2: extract some value out of this event and to start
- 8:52Speaker 2: to use that to invest in the game going forward.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Even though our venue is the smallest, the prices that
- 8:59Speaker 2: we're being asked to pay are the most reasonable. So
- 9:01Speaker 2: Rugby World Cup, for their final, for which there are
- 9:03Speaker 2: 80,000 tickets on sale.
- 9:06Speaker 2: The lowest price is $ 175 to go to that one
- 9:09Speaker 2: single match. Now, I don't think that's an outrageous price, frankly.
- 9:12Speaker 2: But what I do want to do is put that
- 9:14Speaker 2: in the context of if you, you know, four of
- 9:17Speaker 2: those equals a, well, two of those, you couldn't even
- 9:21Speaker 2: buy two of those as the same price for a
- 9:23Speaker 2: finals pass there to go to the whole finals. And
- 9:25Speaker 2: they've got 80,000 of these. Their most expensive ticket is $ 2, 000.
- 9:29Speaker 2: that doesn't include all the hospitality ones. So I think
- 9:31Speaker 2: these ticket prices for the Netball World Cup hit a
- 9:35Speaker 2: really nice point for our market that says we know
- 9:38Speaker 2: that there are a number of people who are very
- 9:40Speaker 2: happy to pay a premium price to see the game.
- 9:43Speaker 2: But we also know that gender pay gap A lot
- 9:47Speaker 2: of women particularly are not earning as much as the
- 9:49Speaker 2: blokes and they do not have as much disposable income.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And what we want is for this tournament to be
- 9:54Speaker 2: open for people who love the game and are loyal
- 9:57Speaker 2: to the game and are contributing to the game to
- 9:59Speaker 2: be able to come along and experience it at its peak.
- 10:02Speaker 2: So I'm pretty pumped.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I'm excited. I'm very excited. But it's also a reminder that,
- 10:08Speaker 1: as we mentioned, those prices are the cheapest ones. They
- 10:11Speaker 1: are the starting prices. You need to be at your laptop,
- 10:13Speaker 1: as you mentioned, and get in quick if you want
- 10:16Speaker 1: to make the most of those prices and There will
- 10:19Speaker 1: be other options closer to the court, of course, available.
- 10:22Speaker 1: But I think these are three incredibly good packages that
- 10:26Speaker 1: cater for all budgets, all needs, all wants, all covered.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And I don't know, but I assume that after these
- 10:34Speaker 2: have been on sale for a while, any other individual
- 10:37Speaker 2: tickets for different matches and things will come up for sale.
- 10:40Speaker 2: But I don't think that you should count on that.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I think that you should grab what you want as
- 10:45Speaker 2: fast as you can, as early as you can. Now,
- 10:48Speaker 2: I did say for the, I just want to correct
- 10:51Speaker 2: something here, for the tournament pass. and the finals pass,
- 10:54Speaker 2: there is a limit of 10 tickets per person. For
- 10:57Speaker 2: the opening night doubleheader there where tickets start from $ 59
- 11:00Speaker 2: for adults and $ 30 for children, there's a limit of
- 11:03Speaker 2: eight tickets per person for that one. So just make
- 11:06Speaker 2: sure you're planning properly. But please learn from me and
- 11:09Speaker 2: my bitter experience and make sure that your Ticketek passwords
- 11:13Speaker 2: are set up and that you have a reliable internet
- 11:17Speaker 2: connection and all the things– that you need, your Valium,
- 11:21Speaker 2: whatever else it is that you need that day, but
- 11:23Speaker 2: that is on midday Australian Eastern Daylight Time on Tuesday
- 11:28Speaker 2: the 10th of November.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Start the conversations with your friends, guys. Get planning.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Buy your tickets.
- 11:33Speaker 2: I think that was well worth a news break, the
- 11:36Speaker 2: very first No Dribble news break. Is that the Morse code?
- 11:41Speaker 1: What's happening over there?
- 11:43Speaker 2: We will see.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I shouldn't pull this skin. It's too delicate.
- 11:47Speaker 2: We will see you tomorrow, Dribblers.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Bye.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Bye.
