- 0:02Speaker 1: To teas in a pod which Teddy Mellencamp and camradge Edge.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Hi, guys, welcome to another episode of Flashback with Teddy
- 0:18Speaker 2: and Cameron. This is the finale and the reunion.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Of Orange County Season two, episode nine. Back in the day,
- 0:29Speaker 3: there was only nine episodes. Shortly after that it went
- 0:33Speaker 3: to eighteens, and it went to twenty five, and now
- 0:36Speaker 3: I think they were averaging about twenty.
- 0:39Speaker 2: This air date was March thirteenth, two thousand and seven.
- 0:42Speaker 3: The not doing in two thousand and seven, Teddy br.
- 0:46Speaker 2: One thousand and seven, You're still I was? I was
- 0:49Speaker 2: still in the womb. No, I was living out here.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I was riding horses for a living. I was married
- 0:55Speaker 2: to my first husband.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Was you know, can we get your first husband on
- 0:58Speaker 3: the pod?
- 0:59Speaker 4: No?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely not. He would be like, are you on glue?
- 1:03Speaker 3: What do you get mine? And you get yours? We
- 1:05Speaker 3: can do a whole podcast about it.
- 1:07Speaker 2: All right. The synopsis of this episode is Joe and
- 1:10Speaker 2: Slade attended therapy session. Shane ponders a career in baseball.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Hasn't even been pondering that for a while. Sophia and
- 1:17Speaker 2: Sophie and George throw a joint birthday party for their daughters,
- 1:21Speaker 2: Vicky and down look to reconnect. Okay, so it starts
- 1:26Speaker 2: out with Laurie having a birthday party for her daughter
- 1:29Speaker 2: and George's daughter. Their families have perfectly bonded together like
- 1:32Speaker 2: the Brady Bunch, except for Ashley. Ashley seems pissed all
- 1:36Speaker 2: the time.
- 1:37Speaker 3: She's just hating life. But she's probably at the age
- 1:40Speaker 3: where everything's so annoying, you know, like, oh, but.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I have to I'd be in a pissed off mood
- 1:46Speaker 2: all the time if I had to sleep or with Cat.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Well, that's her choice, yeah, I mean, but definitely her choice.
- 1:53Speaker 3: But back in the day when they had birthday parties
- 1:56Speaker 3: and bowling alleys, I.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Had Dove's birthday party was at a bowling alley this year,
- 2:02Speaker 2: was it.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I'm sure it's a new type of bowling alley. Was
- 2:06Speaker 3: it cosmic bowllying or I think.
- 2:08Speaker 2: There was no, but it was. It is a little
- 2:12Speaker 2: bit of a There wasn't a separate room, there's tables,
- 2:15Speaker 2: there's all the things. I mean this pretty much how
- 2:18Speaker 2: I throw a birthday party is I'm like, listen, I
- 2:21Speaker 2: need to know who friend of whatever kid the birthday
- 2:26Speaker 2: that I'm having is the same time, and then I'm
- 2:28Speaker 2: going to latch onto it so I don't have to
- 2:30Speaker 2: throw the party myself.
- 2:31Speaker 3: He skates a half. Yeah, Ava just had a birthday
- 2:36Speaker 3: party and it was at roller skating rink. Oh see,
- 2:40Speaker 3: we're bringing it back, bringing back to old school.
- 2:43Speaker 2: So we're back at the birthday party at the bowling Alley.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Ashley says that no matter what, Josh is not moving in.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Josh says that he does not get to decide that.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Do you think that being on the show had an
- 2:57Speaker 2: extra negative impact on Josh or you think it was
- 3:00Speaker 2: gonna be hard for him regardless.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I think it was gonna be hard for him regardless.
- 3:08Speaker 3: It's hard to say it really is. I think that
- 3:10Speaker 3: he's been troubled even to this day. It's really sad. Yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 3: it's I mean, probably TV didn't help him.
- 3:19Speaker 2: But I do love seeing their family kind of grow
- 3:22Speaker 2: and build together. Knowing that they're still together, they're still
- 3:24Speaker 2: each other. That's huge.
- 3:26Speaker 3: We need to get Lori on the pod next. I
- 3:28Speaker 3: know she's on next season. Oh you know what her
- 3:30Speaker 3: wedding might be next season season three. I attended her
- 3:35Speaker 3: wedding with my ex and it was beautiful. It was
- 3:38Speaker 3: in their backyard. They have grounds in San Luan.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Because we'll be well before we get into covering season three,
- 3:44Speaker 2: we go back to cover Beverly Hills. Yeah, so are
- 3:47Speaker 2: we on season two of Beverly Hills for next flashback?
- 3:50Speaker 3: Yes? Oh that is correct, Teddy Joe, correct.
- 3:54Speaker 2: That is correct. A moon though. Then we are back
- 3:58Speaker 2: in Codo to watch Joe cooking for Slate with her
- 4:02Speaker 2: baby voice. Slade says Joe doesn't need her anymore and
- 4:07Speaker 2: that they don't feel like boyfriend and girlfriend anymore. Slade
- 4:12Speaker 2: tells Joe that she's been treating him like crap and
- 4:14Speaker 2: that she doesn't care about anything he does for her
- 4:17Speaker 2: and that she doesn't respect him. He also says Joe
- 4:22Speaker 2: is a different person now. Joe tells him to love
- 4:24Speaker 2: it or leave it. We're going to have Joe on
- 4:29Speaker 2: next week so we can ask her additional questions about
- 4:32Speaker 2: the relationship. But I do you know, I.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Like she regrets that relationship. No, I think.
- 4:40Speaker 2: It's dysfunctional as it seemed. I think that there must
- 4:44Speaker 2: have been good parts of it for her to even
- 4:46Speaker 2: be there, because she doesn't seem super interested in being on.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Reality TV or she doesn't, which is really surprising for
- 4:52Speaker 3: a twenty five year old girl to be on reality
- 4:54Speaker 3: TV and basically just choose to go live in LA
- 4:58Speaker 3: and you know, walk away from what is now a
- 5:02Speaker 3: very popular reality show.
- 5:04Speaker 2: But she probably didn't know that. I mean, hell, she's
- 5:06Speaker 2: sitting there whipping up a bullegn aze white dressed in
- 5:10Speaker 2: scarf and uggs like she didn't know what was going
- 5:13Speaker 2: to come of this.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I don't know, but even I mean, I just feel
- 5:16Speaker 3: like anybody that's never been on TV and they get
- 5:18Speaker 3: on TV show, they're like, oh my god, I'm famous.
- 5:21Speaker 2: But I think she thought her music career was going
- 5:23Speaker 2: to probably take over from that, you know, that was
- 5:26Speaker 2: going to be the bigger thing. Then Shane is home
- 5:30Speaker 2: resting from his back injury. It's been a wake up
- 5:33Speaker 2: call not having baseball in his life anymore. Gina worries
- 5:37Speaker 2: Shane won't have the skills to fall back on something
- 5:40Speaker 2: of his baseball career fails. Do you think that Gena's
- 5:44Speaker 2: too lenient towards Shane?
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I do. I mean the dad definitely not.
- 5:50Speaker 3: But I don't think Shane's career ever took off in baseball,
- 5:53Speaker 3: and he had so much pressure.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Then Vicky and Gina go out to dinner. Gina tells
- 5:58Speaker 2: Vicky that she treats Don the way she treats Matt
- 6:01Speaker 2: and they both need to make changes. Gina treats Matt
- 6:04Speaker 2: like the mail man. I don't necessarily agree with Gina
- 6:06Speaker 2: on this. I from what I've seen, it seems like
- 6:10Speaker 2: Matt isn't very kind to Gina and she's just ignoring it.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Then Vicky says she is independent and doesn't think she
- 6:18Speaker 2: needs a man, but knows Don is her rock and
- 6:21Speaker 2: she needs him in her life. Gina says, Matt sman's
- 6:24Speaker 2: two hundred nights of the year in a hotel. When
- 6:26Speaker 2: he gets home, he just wants to sit at home.
- 6:29Speaker 2: What is he doing two hundred nights of the year
- 6:31Speaker 2: in a hotel?
- 6:32Speaker 3: That is one thing I'm not quite clear on. I
- 6:35Speaker 3: don't know what he was doing to be in a
- 6:38Speaker 3: hotel all the time. But let's just talk about Don.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Poor Don. I mean, he really is a great guy.
- 6:44Speaker 3: I don't know if he's a great husband. He's a
- 6:45Speaker 3: great guy, and I know Vicky wished it would have
- 6:50Speaker 3: worked out after.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Well, watching Vicky say she would never cheat on Don,
- 6:57Speaker 2: but then finding out that she cheats on on with Brooks.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think at this moment Vicky started talking
- 7:07Speaker 3: with Brooks and carrying on with Brooks. And I think
- 7:11Speaker 3: at one point like her daughter got wind of it,
- 7:14Speaker 3: like I saw a message or herd a call or something.
- 7:18Speaker 2: How long was Brooks in the picture, because remember I
- 7:21Speaker 2: didn't watch all these originally, so it's like my first
- 7:23Speaker 2: time watching. I thought Books just came that season. Now.
- 7:28Speaker 3: No, they had known each other for a long time,
- 7:30Speaker 3: and I think that Brooks was in the insurance business too,
- 7:33Speaker 3: so they Vicky would travel a lot, so I think
- 7:36Speaker 3: that they would meet up when they traveled. Oh, I
- 7:40Speaker 3: neither one of them were great. In fact, I was
- 7:42Speaker 3: in dig Bear over the weekend and I was with
- 7:45Speaker 3: a woman and Bitlve's out there and she said, I
- 7:48Speaker 3: used to work at home Depot with Down. He was
- 7:50Speaker 3: like an executive for Home Depot. And I go, oh,
- 7:52Speaker 3: my god, he's so great, because he's great, but let
- 7:55Speaker 3: me tell you was not a good husband.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Oh so you think they were both stay.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Oh with the other bostum on.
- 8:01Speaker 2: But you see when they go out to their dinner,
- 8:04Speaker 2: this part was sweet, Like how excited Vicky was that
- 8:08Speaker 2: Don planned something for them that you do see that
- 8:13Speaker 2: like that happens in a lot of relationships where you
- 8:17Speaker 2: just want the other person to like take initiative. And
- 8:21Speaker 2: they're kind of having Levey Devey moments. They go to Catalina,
- 8:26Speaker 2: Don says He's made all the plans. Vicky's so happy
- 8:29Speaker 2: about that. But kind of watching it back, does it
- 8:33Speaker 2: make you think that they could have made it work?
- 8:36Speaker 3: No? No, no, it was Their relationship is long gone.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I mean to see them hold hands on camera is like,
- 8:43Speaker 3: I don't think I ever even saw them kiss or anything.
- 8:46Speaker 2: How many seasons were you on with them as a
- 8:48Speaker 2: married couple.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Had to have been at least three or four. So
- 8:57Speaker 3: I was on with Simon for three years and I
- 8:59Speaker 3: divorced him before she divorced Dawn.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I can't believe we're going to get into all that.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I can't. I cannot.
- 9:05Speaker 3: I never even thought about the Simon part of it.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I was just thinking about my bad white, broken off hair.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Yeah, were your banks banks?
- 9:13Speaker 3: And you know what I'm saying, And my baby wait,
- 9:16Speaker 3: because Sophia was only like, I don't know, a year
- 9:19Speaker 3: and a half when I started filming Crazy.
- 9:22Speaker 4: It was that long ago. That is crazy.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Then Joe en Slade plan on seeing a relationship counselor,
- 9:40Speaker 2: which this relationship counselor like gave me anxiety?
- 9:44Speaker 3: I am so, I mean just goes to show. They've
- 9:47Speaker 3: even been showing therapy sessions and counseling sessions on Housewives
- 9:51Speaker 3: for eighteen years.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I think therapy is an important thing
- 9:57Speaker 2: that people I don't want to see it, but when
- 9:59Speaker 2: it so your very first appointment and your very last appointment,
- 10:03Speaker 2: it doesn't really track. Like if you're authentically going to
- 10:07Speaker 2: therapy and the person knows you, but if not. This
- 10:11Speaker 2: gal just seemed like she was friends of Slade and
- 10:14Speaker 2: she came on to make Joe feel like an asshole.
- 10:17Speaker 2: But Slade says he's fifty percent committed and Joe is
- 10:20Speaker 2: not committed at all. She's a two out of ten.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Then she says that she's a nine, an eight or
- 10:26Speaker 2: nine committed, and I'm like, huh, no, girl, your actions
- 10:29Speaker 2: are showing different. Do you think Slade is more worried
- 10:32Speaker 2: about staying on the show than breaking up because if
- 10:35Speaker 2: he broke up with Joe, his job is over. However,
- 10:40Speaker 2: on one of the reunions, and I can't wait to
- 10:42Speaker 2: get to it.
- 10:43Speaker 3: He said, he quit the show. Andy said, dude, you
- 10:46Speaker 3: didn't quit the show.
- 10:47Speaker 2: You wouldn't quit you.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Yeah, you weren't with anybody on the show, but I
- 10:51Speaker 3: quit no.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Like Listen, the one thing that I do know for
- 10:56Speaker 2: sure is they both were one hundred percent committed to
- 10:58Speaker 2: being on television Season two County, and that's what they
- 11:01Speaker 2: showed us here. Then we get to the barbecue. Joe
- 11:07Speaker 2: arrives alone to Vicky's barbecue and Slade brings a date, Janice.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Who or yes, Janie? What are your thoughts?
- 11:16Speaker 2: What somebody dick move? Well not just a dick move,
- 11:20Speaker 2: but what are your thoughts when you are like the
- 11:22Speaker 2: other woman and you come in and you're dressed like
- 11:26Speaker 2: so over the top? Like, what would you do if
- 11:28Speaker 2: you were the other woman and you were coming in
- 11:30Speaker 2: you were in that situation, would you come in like
- 11:33Speaker 2: sexy and over the top or would you come in
- 11:35Speaker 2: and just try to be like the cool casual background.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I would try to be the cool casual with a
- 11:39Speaker 3: little bit of sex appeal, and I would have had
- 11:41Speaker 3: my makeup done.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Slade says, you know they're not a couple. Joe says,
- 11:48Speaker 2: she didn't bring a date out of respect to Slade.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Laurie says, Slade thrives on drama. He thinks he's the
- 11:57Speaker 2: next housewife. Which it's funny that they even that back.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Back then, right, and then I mean, how long had
- 12:05Speaker 3: it been since they really officially broke up? That this
- 12:08Speaker 3: backyard barbecue is happening for the season finale and he
- 12:11Speaker 3: decided to bring a date.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Well, he decides to bring a date, and then Gina
- 12:15Speaker 2: asks if the date is a rented date, and Vicky
- 12:21Speaker 2: says he thinks he paid for I wonder what you
- 12:24Speaker 2: know Janice is thinking watching this back.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I know now, if you were Joe, would have you
- 12:28Speaker 3: introduced yourself to Janie?
- 12:30Speaker 2: I maybe would have, but I absolutely would not have
- 12:33Speaker 2: done it the way that she did it, with the
- 12:35Speaker 2: dog and the baby voice and the awkward waving with
- 12:38Speaker 2: the thing. I would have just been like, Hi, hi, slide,
- 12:41Speaker 2: good to see you, Nice to meet you. I'm Joe
- 12:43Speaker 2: and moved it along.
- 12:44Speaker 3: But I think she took her Louis Vuitton that was
- 12:48Speaker 3: all beat up, and she says she's walking, she's leaving,
- 12:52Speaker 3: and the next thing you know, we see her in
- 12:53Speaker 3: the grotto with Shane.
- 12:55Speaker 2: It was it was very confusing to me, the timing,
- 13:00Speaker 2: but no, the whole hello, Like I was like, no, Joe, yes,
- 13:04Speaker 2: you can go up and say hi if you want
- 13:06Speaker 2: to kind of stick it to him like that you're
- 13:08Speaker 2: the bigger person. But then don't pretend that you're not
- 13:11Speaker 2: awkward doing it for just a second.
- 13:14Speaker 3: Yeah. But and that was her exit out of the show,
- 13:18Speaker 3: and then she did get a spinoff. Bravo was clearly
- 13:21Speaker 3: not done with her.
- 13:23Speaker 2: I can't wait to watch that. Apparently it's called Date
- 13:26Speaker 2: My Ex, which.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I thought meant that not a bad concept, not.
- 13:32Speaker 2: A bad concept. But they often talk about at this party,
- 13:39Speaker 2: Vicky at the party, trying to get people to drink
- 13:42Speaker 2: and wanting to control the cooking. This is the Vicky
- 13:45Speaker 2: I love to see.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Well me too. Vicky is controlling. That's who she is.
- 13:51Speaker 3: There's no changing in her. And I love a girl
- 13:53Speaker 3: that has a plan. That's the one thing. One thing
- 13:55Speaker 3: that me and Vicky have always bonded over is we're
- 13:58Speaker 3: both really good with her money. We're both very organized.
- 14:02Speaker 3: We don't make frivolous you know, purcha Yeah, like we're
- 14:07Speaker 3: just really I don't know, I mean, we're not that
- 14:09Speaker 3: close in age, but you know, more geared towards the future,
- 14:13Speaker 3: saving money. So I like that about her.
- 14:17Speaker 2: No, I like it. And as we get into the reunion,
- 14:20Speaker 2: we'll talk about kind of her recaps on watching herself,
- 14:23Speaker 2: But then it's already over. We're at the end credits.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Shane recently returned to the Oakland A's minor league team.
- 14:31Speaker 2: He and Joe continue to talk. However, they both insist
- 14:35Speaker 2: they are just friends. Gina and Matt are still together,
- 14:39Speaker 2: living under the same roof. Joe has moved out of
- 14:42Speaker 2: the apartment with JJ and now lives alone in La
- 14:45Speaker 2: She is still looking for a recording deal.
- 14:47Speaker 3: We need to have a feeling those friends with j Yeah,
- 14:49Speaker 3: and I have a feeling that he had a falling out. Now,
- 14:52Speaker 3: did you notice that everybody got their own eulogy? I
- 14:55Speaker 3: was called the eulogy. I know it's always called but everybody,
- 14:58Speaker 3: even the kids, they give an update at the you know,
- 15:00Speaker 3: nowadays it's just the housewife. They show the picture, they
- 15:03Speaker 3: play the music, and now Tamra's happily ever after living
- 15:07Speaker 3: in her house in San Clemente. You know what I mean,
- 15:09Speaker 3: Like every single kid got ever.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Well, before we even get to that question, because Gina's
- 15:15Speaker 2: daughter kept saying she never has seen Gina and well
- 15:20Speaker 2: her mom and dad kissed, and that she kept saying
- 15:23Speaker 2: that she should leave him. Have you ever seen that?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Did you ever see them kiss?
- 15:26Speaker 3: No? No, they were not together like when you see
- 15:30Speaker 3: them filming. They're really not together. He just has an
- 15:34Speaker 3: injury and has a room at the house and she
- 15:36Speaker 3: kind of keeps an eye on him.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Oh okay, Well, the end credits still were. Gina and
- 15:42Speaker 2: Matt are still together, living under the same roof. Slade
- 15:46Speaker 2: is now Joe's manager. He planned what he plans to
- 15:50Speaker 2: move to la into his own apartment. I miss this part.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I don't believe that ever happened.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I don't believe this to be true. Yeah, he was
- 15:59Speaker 2: just hoping that would be in the OC Burden Way compation.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Lourie and George planning to get married in the spring.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Ashley still lives in Laurie's townhouse, only now she pays
- 16:11Speaker 2: the rent, the water bell and cleans up after the cat.
- 16:14Speaker 2: That may also not be true. Tammy and Duff remain
- 16:19Speaker 2: broken up. She's still dating the new guy she brought
- 16:22Speaker 2: to Vicky's party.
- 16:23Speaker 3: She dated him a while and I'm trying when I
- 16:25Speaker 3: saw him, like, oh god, how do I know? I'm like,
- 16:27Speaker 3: oh my god. They did date a while, and I
- 16:29Speaker 3: remember seeing them out together. I think I wouldn't break
- 16:32Speaker 3: his name.
- 16:33Speaker 2: I think I would have picked deaf.
- 16:34Speaker 3: Deaf is kind of goofy.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Megan and Roman never got back together. All those has
- 16:39Speaker 2: the tattoo about the pitbulls, and then Vicky is trying
- 16:44Speaker 2: to control her control issues. That is the end of
- 16:49Speaker 2: season two.
- 16:50Speaker 3: But but the riveting, riveting TV of a reunion and
- 16:56Speaker 3: they don't even call it reunion. They call it watch
- 16:59Speaker 3: what happened? We want to watch reunion? Yeah, which which
- 17:04Speaker 3: I think sparked what what Happens Live?
- 17:07Speaker 2: Well, the thing I have a question about is how
- 17:10Speaker 2: mad do we think Vicky was that she was fourth
- 17:13Speaker 2: down the line in seats or was this before any
- 17:17Speaker 2: seat hierarchy started?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Oh I'm not sure. How was it last year? The
- 17:22Speaker 3: first season? Did they do it in Vicky's backyard?
- 17:25Speaker 2: Yeah? But Andy wasn't even there.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Andy wasn't there, That's right, they were just being asked
- 17:29Speaker 3: questions by the producer. So two thousand and seven was
- 17:34Speaker 3: Andy's very first reunion.
- 17:37Speaker 2: I mean between Andy's hair and saying Bravo TV dot
- 17:41Speaker 2: Com eighty two times.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Because everything was done through the website. We didn't have
- 17:46Speaker 3: we had we were MySpace transitioning into Facebook in two
- 17:51Speaker 3: thousand and seven. I believe.
- 17:52Speaker 2: I mean, it was just hilarious. Well, Bravo TV dot
- 17:55Speaker 2: Com said, and Bravo TV. I'm like Bravo TV dot
- 17:59Speaker 2: com the t before TMZ. Yeah, but I.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Think that's where people would send in their questions.
- 18:05Speaker 2: That's so funny. But nobody seems to grow old in OC.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Vicky says there's a pressure to stay young looking and
- 18:11Speaker 2: there's a lot of competition. In OC. Joe is regretful.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Joe has blonde hair, but she's also regretful of her
- 18:17Speaker 2: boob job and is getting reduction. Vicky had a boob
- 18:21Speaker 2: reduction three years ago. Tammy thinks you should wait until
- 18:24Speaker 2: you're older to decide if you want a boob job.
- 18:27Speaker 2: What do you think the appropriate age to get a
- 18:28Speaker 2: boob job is?
- 18:30Speaker 3: Well, I mean, I think it's ideal to have a
- 18:32Speaker 3: boob job after you have kids. But you know, some
- 18:35Speaker 3: girls in their twenties and not really going to have
- 18:37Speaker 3: kids still the later and they want boob jobs. More
- 18:40Speaker 3: power to them. I just think that they should, you know,
- 18:44Speaker 3: be over the age of eighteen. For sure.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It's totally consistent to Andy always asking the ladies what
- 18:49Speaker 2: work they have had done, So even back then, he
- 18:52Speaker 2: was the question. Joe says she and Slade are still
- 19:07Speaker 2: broken up but remain friends. Joe says, Slade called himself
- 19:11Speaker 2: the sixth housewife. This is even more embarrassing than somebody
- 19:14Speaker 2: calling you I want to be housewife.
- 19:16Speaker 3: I wouldn't that give you just an ick feeling if
- 19:18Speaker 3: your man called himself the sixth housewife? Ugh, yuck, You're like,
- 19:24Speaker 3: oh my god. And the douche award goes too well.
- 19:30Speaker 2: The douche word was kind of a combo between Slade
- 19:32Speaker 2: and Shane. But Shane, Yeah, they say that. Joe says,
- 19:36Speaker 2: nothing went on with Shane.
- 19:39Speaker 3: I don't believe that.
- 19:40Speaker 2: I don't believe it either. Vicky says she's in control
- 19:43Speaker 2: and she hopes the people in her life just know
- 19:46Speaker 2: she just wants what's best for them. You know what,
- 19:49Speaker 2: Honestly Vicky's saying, I am saying, I'm just I'm not controlling.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I'm just it's just the way you guys, It's just
- 19:56Speaker 3: the way you guys go about it now.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I'm curious, do you have like a type that you
- 20:01Speaker 2: like Tam that you really because apparently you like control freaks.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I like everybody. I'm an equal opportunist.
- 20:09Speaker 5: Mm hm.
- 20:10Speaker 2: When I think Tam or I think somebody that loves everyone.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I would I would not want to be with a
- 20:15Speaker 3: control freak. No, it would. Eddie's definitely more controlling than
- 20:21Speaker 3: I am.
- 20:22Speaker 2: But like I I got to tell you, if somebody
- 20:25Speaker 2: was cooking, I wouldn't be controlling that.
- 20:27Speaker 3: No. No, Eddie cooks. Yes, he can over that job.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 20:32Speaker 3: I don't like to cook.
- 20:35Speaker 2: I don't need to micromanage any household.
- 20:37Speaker 3: But he doesn't do dishes. Oh he will not. He'll cook,
- 20:40Speaker 3: but he does not do the dishes.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Then, Gina says she was offended in shocked to see
- 20:45Speaker 2: Shane called Tammy tits and that it was out of
- 20:49Speaker 2: character for him.
- 20:50Speaker 3: I had a character for him.
- 20:52Speaker 2: I was confused. But then also, I love all the
- 20:55Speaker 2: discussion about the underage kids drinking. I'm like time some change. Granted,
- 21:01Speaker 2: we probably drank around that same age, so it's not
- 21:04Speaker 2: shocking that they drank. It's just shocking that we watch
- 21:07Speaker 2: it and debate it on television.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't drink until well into my twenties.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Oh I did. I drank in high school.
- 21:15Speaker 3: Thanks, I mean I had one time where I drank
- 21:18Speaker 3: and threw up, and so I'm never doing this again.
- 21:21Speaker 2: That lasted Lourie. She is her children's friend and she
- 21:26Speaker 2: needs to parent more. Laurie says Josh is very unstable
- 21:29Speaker 2: right now and they have barely been in contact since
- 21:32Speaker 2: he turned to eighteen. Laurie gave him a car and
- 21:34Speaker 2: let him live in the towhouse. But two weeks and
- 21:38Speaker 2: he had broken every rule, which is like no drinking,
- 21:41Speaker 2: no drugs, no parties, no whatever he wants.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Let's just say, every single kid on that show got
- 21:47Speaker 3: away with way too much. And I don't know if
- 21:49Speaker 3: it was just acting up for the cameras or they
- 21:52Speaker 3: were just entitled little breads.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Well, Gina's daughter really grew on me.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Gina's daughter has all ways always been the best kid
- 22:03Speaker 3: on the show.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Like she's funny, Shels, deprecating, she can be enough of
- 22:07Speaker 2: an asshole like all of it. Like I was like,
- 22:09Speaker 2: I like her, and then at the reunion she was
- 22:12Speaker 2: funny too. The fact that they bring all the kids
- 22:14Speaker 2: onto the reunion.
- 22:15Speaker 3: That is crazy. Now if you ever, like, I follow
- 22:18Speaker 3: Kara and like she she's a writer. She just writes
- 22:23Speaker 3: and writes just beautifully on her Instagram. Okay, a lot
- 22:27Speaker 3: going on.
- 22:27Speaker 5: She she lost her baby at birth, oh no, a
- 22:32Speaker 5: few years ago, and just the stuff that she would
- 22:35Speaker 5: write about him, it was just, oh my.
- 22:38Speaker 3: God, such a great writer. I heard she was writing
- 22:40Speaker 3: a book.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Oh well, I need to follow her and see. But
- 22:45Speaker 2: it's essentially The Real Kids of OC joined. That's Kara, Shane, Ashley, Lindsay, Michael,
- 22:51Speaker 2: and Brianna. Brianna says that Vicky is still controlling even
- 22:55Speaker 2: though she's a sophomore in college. Michael says he was
- 22:58Speaker 2: smart to move Colorado. Shane says he's no longer a virgin.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Things I didn't need to know, Shane. He also claims
- 23:09Speaker 2: that nothing has happened between him and Joe.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I don't believe that.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Would you have wanted your kids like by the time
- 23:15Speaker 2: you joined, were the kids still involved?
- 23:17Speaker 3: Well, you have to remember shows like Laguna Beach and
- 23:19Speaker 3: The Hills were very, very popular at that time, So
- 23:22Speaker 3: Bravo was trying to do a show called The Real
- 23:25Speaker 3: Kids of OC and I don't know if they ever
- 23:29Speaker 3: shot anything, but it just never took off. And I
- 23:31Speaker 3: think this was their attempt to start launching it is
- 23:34Speaker 3: to have the kids at the reunion.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Well, I want to know how much the kids were
- 23:37Speaker 2: getting paid to be at the reunion, because Shane's rocks
- 23:41Speaker 2: and his ears actually offended me, like those huge diamonds.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I know for a fact that Ryan got paid
- 23:48Speaker 3: season three. When we started, kids eighteen and older would
- 23:53Speaker 3: get four thousand dollars every time they filmed.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Four thousand dollars every time they filmed. Yeah, what about husbands?
- 24:02Speaker 3: I think it was Wait, am I mistaken?
- 24:05Speaker 2: That seems like a lot.
- 24:06Speaker 3: It was a lot. I would say Ryan made anywhere
- 24:09Speaker 3: from forty to sixty thousand dollars a year filming. But
- 24:14Speaker 3: that has changed, that has stopped. So it was really weird.
- 24:17Speaker 3: It was good at the time, but the husbands didn't
- 24:20Speaker 3: get paid.
- 24:20Speaker 2: That get paid.
- 24:23Speaker 3: No, only children over eighteen got paid. Oh wow, then, actually,
- 24:30Speaker 3: I'm sorry. No, it was a flat rate. It was
- 24:31Speaker 3: a flat rate of like forty thousand for the year.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Okay, that's what it was. Either way, it's kind of
- 24:36Speaker 2: it was a lot of the kids got paid and
- 24:38Speaker 2: not the husband's. Then we get into the Joe got
- 24:43Speaker 2: a music publishing deal with Sony and is negotiating with labels.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Joe says, if she could have one person's career, it
- 24:49Speaker 2: would be Jessica Simpson. Like, Joe, I mean, out of
- 24:55Speaker 2: all could you not have picked like, yeah, Brettney or Christina.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, out of all the pop stars, Jessica Simpson. But
- 25:02Speaker 3: she kind of I feel like she channeled her Jessica
- 25:04Speaker 3: Simpson on the show, Oh for.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Sure, and like playing like she didn't know, Like she's
- 25:11Speaker 2: very smart, that gal, Like I don't know if they're smart. Yeah.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Then Andy asks what advice they have for housewives across
- 25:18Speaker 2: America who watch this is hilarious. Vicky says, people admire
- 25:24Speaker 2: but this this. He asked what advice they have? But
- 25:28Speaker 2: this is not advice, Vicky, I love you, but it's
- 25:30Speaker 2: not advice. But Vicky says, people admire their strength and independence.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Okay.
- 25:36Speaker 2: Tammy says she wishes she had someone like them to
- 25:40Speaker 2: watch growing up. Really Tammy. Joe says they redefined what
- 25:45Speaker 2: it means to be a housewife. Laurie hopes the wives
- 25:50Speaker 2: watching can relate to at least one of them. They
- 25:52Speaker 2: all have the same hopes and fears, and they all
- 25:54Speaker 2: love their kids.
- 25:55Speaker 3: That was probably the best answer right there.
- 25:58Speaker 2: That being said that no one person provides any bit
- 26:00Speaker 2: of advice, So you can say.
- 26:04Speaker 4: What do you have?
- 26:05Speaker 3: A hard question? Like to answer? What would you say?
- 26:10Speaker 2: What advice would I have?
- 26:13Speaker 4: That?
- 26:15Speaker 2: You can't judge a book by its cover, you know,
- 26:18Speaker 2: Like that's why it's so important to watch these shows
- 26:20Speaker 2: because you can see the good and the bad and
- 26:22Speaker 2: the ugly. We all have highs and lows.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I will say this is the end of
- 26:28Speaker 3: season two. Starting season three, it's a whole new show
- 26:33Speaker 3: because Tamra's completely new show. There's a new bleach blonde
- 26:38Speaker 3: with broken dyed hair that is going to change everything.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Who's gonna come change that?
- 26:43Speaker 2: She is an iconic queen and I cannot wait to
- 26:48Speaker 2: find out who it is.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Oh my god, I don't know why. I just came
- 26:52Speaker 3: in and fought with everybody.
- 26:54Speaker 2: So like me. So weird that that happened.
- 26:57Speaker 3: I know, I don't even know how that happened.
- 26:59Speaker 2: But before we get into recapping Beverly Hills season two,
- 27:03Speaker 2: we are gonna have Joe Delarosa on and then we
- 27:06Speaker 2: will get into Beverly Hills, So make sure that you
- 27:08Speaker 2: guys keep tuning in to Flashback with the Twats
