Transcript
- 0:00I draw a distinction between disappointment and
- 0:03discouragement. So I tried out something and I
- 0:06didn't succeed. I can be disappointed or I can
- 0:09be discouraged. Failure.
- 0:11Disappointment sits between failure and discouragement.
- 0:15Disappointment means I didn't make it.
- 0:17I didn't get the grade I wanted. But you know what?
- 0:20I'm going to try harder. And next time I'm going to, I'm
- 0:22going to beat this thing. I'm disappointed.
- 0:23I'm sad that I didn't make it, but I'm going to try harder.
- 0:26I'm going to. I'm going to watch me.
- 0:28I'm going to do it. That's disappointment.
- 0:30Discouragement is I failed. I might as well walk away.
- 0:33I might as well give up. I didn't think I could do it
- 0:35anyway. You know, somebody warned me and
- 0:37told me not to try. And it's just a negative
- 0:40narrative we're telling ourselves.
- 0:41Discouragement packs it in. Give it up.
- 0:44Disappointment is I realized that I didn't make it, but I'm
- 0:47coming back. I'm coming back for you.
