- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to a lily Pad production.
- 0:05Speaker 2: This is the Team Up Play Show podcast.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Previously in the City of Bones.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Sorry, work's been stressful, as Page says, yeah, there's only
- 0:39Speaker 2: so much I can say, trying to keep a lot
- 0:41Speaker 2: of things under wraps. In basic terms, it's a bunch
- 0:45Speaker 2: of ecosystem modeling making sure the resources can cycle through
- 0:50Speaker 2: and we can create kind of a self sustaining massive graririum.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I don't know. That's the tricky part. Has been effectively
- 0:59Speaker 2: simulating seasonal name biome changes in varying segments of the
- 1:03Speaker 2: dome to accomplish the perpetual production of the varying yields
- 1:07Speaker 2: that have been required of me and my team. Page
- 1:10Speaker 2: comes in and she has with her a companion comes
- 1:13Speaker 2: in with a young, beautiful Asian woman. She shakes your
- 1:18Speaker 2: hand firmly, and Paige says, hey, Jason, I wanted to
- 1:22Speaker 2: introduce you to my friend. This is Elaine.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Oh right, Elaine, I'm Jason. Welcome to the library.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Then there's another switch to Dirk's voice Spellbook Everwing. She
- 1:35Speaker 2: is coming for them. Which side do we stand on?
- 1:38Speaker 2: You're right, You're right, of course, of course you're right.
- 1:42Speaker 2: They deserve a chance to be here if they want.
- 1:49Speaker 2: The other thing that you notice that's paper is it's
- 1:52Speaker 2: very similar to the other notes that Zara seems to
- 1:57Speaker 2: have left behind it, says aesthetic consultant Esthetic and design
- 2:04Speaker 2: consultant Sasha Martin, Glass of sass. You go up to Arthur,
- 2:12Speaker 2: Jason either, I'm ready, I'm ready to talk? Oh for real.
- 2:17Speaker 2: A reporter from the Tower got this amazing shot of
- 2:20Speaker 2: the three of you fighting the masterpiece. Arthur slams it
- 2:23Speaker 2: down on the table in front of you. Jason says,
- 2:27Speaker 2: bring your friends, they need to hear. I will say
- 2:30Speaker 2: a fact or two about spellbook, and then we'll not
- 2:34Speaker 2: speak of him any further. There is old magic and
- 2:39Speaker 2: there is new magic. Jason, I'm dying hunted. Arthur looks
- 3:02Speaker 2: at the three of you and keels over dead. But
- 3:06Speaker 2: I knew it. I knew you've been dead for a week.
- 3:13Speaker 4: You should have adopted a teenager in your seventies, you
- 3:17Speaker 4: fucking idiot.
- 3:18Speaker 2: What do you think what's gonna happen?
- 3:21Speaker 1: Okay, Hey, if you're out there and you're in your
- 3:23Speaker 1: seventies and you want to adopt a team and their
- 3:25Speaker 1: their game, go for it.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Even one Day of Love is immeasurably valuable.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Speak on it.
- 3:33Speaker 2: We can guarantee that nothing will go wrong.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Yeah, because it's not my life.
- 3:43Speaker 2: We're going on. That thing's gonna go We can't think
- 3:48Speaker 2: it goes on. You can sue us. We guarantee.
- 3:51Speaker 4: We'll say, adopting a team while in your late seventies
- 3:55Speaker 4: is a stellar idea.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Say late? Did we say late?
- 3:58Speaker 3: I mean there's a big seventy one and late seven anyway.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Jason Jason of seventy two fucking jerk. There is old
- 4:23Speaker 2: magic and there is new magic. Old magic is also
- 4:29Speaker 2: called realm magic. Should we be taking notes? Probably would
- 4:34Speaker 2: be good.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Can't you just do that with your brain or something?
- 4:38Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, you're right.
- 4:39Speaker 4: I leave my notebook in my pants and I'm taking notes.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Why did it have to be in your pants?
- 4:44Speaker 5: You?
- 4:45Speaker 2: What's I going to keep it? What are you writing with?
- 4:48Speaker 2: You know? His powers? My power? Yeah, that power, the
- 4:55Speaker 2: big pe, my power. I don't know why there was
- 4:57Speaker 2: that pause. Yeah, there, I ca My power is the
- 5:00Speaker 2: big pe. You all hear you guys are on the
- 5:06Speaker 2: second show. You guys are on the second floor. You
- 5:10Speaker 2: hear the front door of the library open. It's late.
- 5:15Speaker 5: It's after hours immediately since scan us recognize the energy
- 5:22Speaker 5: or it's a stranger.
- 5:23Speaker 2: You don't recognize the energy. You just but you only
- 5:26Speaker 2: notice one person walking in the only other person who
- 5:29Speaker 2: has a key that would come in this late is page.
- 5:33Speaker 2: You guys are on the second floor. You start to
- 5:35Speaker 2: hear footsteps up the stairs. Arthur Jason, Jason. I'm gonna hide.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I got it, I got it, I got I
- 5:45Speaker 4: got this, Guys, I'm awesome at lying. It's never gone
- 5:49Speaker 4: poorly for me before.
- 5:50Speaker 5: I electromagnetize myself to the ceiling.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll flight, start up and hide on top of
- 5:56Speaker 3: a bookshelve.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Got it. The two of you go ahead and make
- 5:58Speaker 2: a sneak check. No, you can add your powers? Oh,
- 6:02Speaker 2: thank you. Can I help them hide?
- 6:05Speaker 5: Yes?
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm rolling two D fours.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Hell yeah.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Can you quit like rolling precision?
- 6:12Speaker 6: No?
- 6:12Speaker 2: You cannot.
- 6:15Speaker 4: All right, So for helping him in this instance, you
- 6:16Speaker 4: just want like, I'm gonna cloak them in paper here?
- 6:20Speaker 4: Do you want a paper manipulation just added to their roles? Yes,
- 6:24Speaker 4: And because we're not in combat, you can do both.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Great, I got a seven.
- 6:29Speaker 3: So it's sneak plus flight stars for me, Okay, I
- 6:33Speaker 3: got a four.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I got another four, so I'm gonna give them gonna
- 6:37Speaker 2: help push him up into the rafters.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You paper just pushes against my body on the ceiling.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Page walks up the stairs. She sees the two of you, Arthur,
- 6:51Speaker 2: and uh and you Jason.
- 6:55Speaker 4: Hilarious anecdote Arthur, Oh god time, Oh bit, hey.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Guys, what's going on? Guy time? All right? Uh? Jason?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Could could you help me with something?
- 7:11Speaker 6: Oh?
- 7:11Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no problem, no doubt. What can I
- 7:14Speaker 4: What can I do for you? It's a little library
- 7:16Speaker 4: is closed, So what do you need? Like a booker?
- 7:19Speaker 4: What do you need help with? Yeah? The library being
- 7:24Speaker 4: closed has never mattered before we grew up here. No,
- 7:27Speaker 4: I know you just anytime I feel like what can
- 7:30Speaker 4: I help you with? Is like that's my work hat,
- 7:33Speaker 4: you know?
- 7:33Speaker 2: Yeah? So do you not want to help me? Is
- 7:36Speaker 2: it with books? Yeah, it's with books. I don't know,
- 7:40Speaker 2: it's kind of the library is closed. Okay. I can
- 7:43Speaker 2: go rummage around for a specific book I need, or
- 7:47Speaker 2: you can help me find it. This is what you do.
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'll yeah, it'll be it'll be quicker if I help you.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I can. Arthur, you're cool with keep you gonna keep
- 7:55Speaker 2: guy time alive? Yeah, you know, actually, jeez, and meet
- 8:01Speaker 2: me in my room and he gives you a wink.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Is there something in your eye? Oh? My room? Oh,
- 8:13Speaker 2: I'll take all the stuff to my room. Cool, cool, cool,
- 8:17Speaker 2: cool cool.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Yeah, we've been we're smoking those those geriatric cigars. So
- 8:23Speaker 4: I told you you guys, you either have to stop
- 8:27Speaker 4: joking about that or tell me what's going on.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Jason, I need your help. Yeah, I got you. I'm
- 8:32Speaker 2: uh I I what can I help you find? Well,
- 8:36Speaker 2: it's it's specific, it's I think it's in the humidifire room.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, let's uh, let's go check it out. What
- 8:44Speaker 4: are you kind of late? What are you looking for
- 8:46Speaker 4: right now? Is this really important?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Yeah? Just come on. Okay, okay, you guys head off
- 8:51Speaker 2: up the elevator.
- 8:53Speaker 4: As soon as I get out of range, all of
- 8:55Speaker 4: the paper that's holding you guys in place will just
- 8:57Speaker 4: like uncompress and uncrump to the floor.
- 9:01Speaker 7: Down.
- 9:02Speaker 8: Uh.
- 9:02Speaker 2: But probably best to talk about this in a place
- 9:04Speaker 2: where there won't be ears. Jason knows where to meet
- 9:09Speaker 2: us if you want to follow me. Okay, man, she
- 9:12Speaker 2: was pretty.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, Jamir, Jamir. Uh hovers down and Jamir is
- 9:19Speaker 3: still wearing a mask under his tightly pulled hoodie that
- 9:24Speaker 3: he's trying to keep mostly covered, and keeps his hands
- 9:28Speaker 3: in his pockets and says, uh, man, you gotta be
- 9:32Speaker 3: more careful about this.
- 9:33Speaker 2: People just walk in on us talking about magic and stuff. Well,
- 9:37Speaker 2: only Page. She's the only one with the key. She's
- 9:40Speaker 2: my grandniece, and you're keeping her in the dark on
- 9:43Speaker 2: all this. Oh yeah, absolutely, she wouldn't wanna. Yeah, no,
- 9:48Speaker 2: I don't want to tell her. Jason can tell her
- 9:51Speaker 2: after I'm dead, but I don't. I don't need any
- 9:53Speaker 2: of that now, too old. Follow me, your choice, man,
- 9:57Speaker 2: your choice, yeah, coming, he starts. It's walking just up
- 10:02Speaker 2: the stairs, and then on the fourth floor there is
- 10:05Speaker 2: a hallway the books turn into just a narrow hall,
- 10:09Speaker 2: and down the hall is a door that he takes
- 10:12Speaker 2: you all into and we'll reveal what's inside there in
- 10:16Speaker 2: a minute. Jason Page takes you up to the seventh floor.
- 10:24Speaker 2: She starts running through the aisles of books, and she says, Okay,
- 10:32Speaker 2: I just wanted to get it out of your shot
- 10:33Speaker 2: of Arthur. Oh you don't, you don't need to find
- 10:37Speaker 2: a book. No, Oh, what's going on? Well, I just
- 10:45Speaker 2: wanted to If Arthur knew about all this, he would
- 10:50Speaker 2: he would freak out. I'm I'm awesome at keeping secrets. Great.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I want to to tell you. I haven't been able
- 11:01Speaker 2: to tell you because it's all been kept under wraps.
- 11:05Speaker 2: But now it's out in the open. What are you
- 11:09Speaker 2: talking about? The space barge, the biodome in the space barge, sure, yeah,
- 11:15Speaker 2: in the station. Yeah, where all the fruit and vegetables
- 11:20Speaker 2: is coming from. I'm I'm on that team. I'm I
- 11:27Speaker 2: helped make that. You made all the fruit? Well, I
- 11:33Speaker 2: got the space barges, the biodome system back up and running. Oh, page,
- 11:40Speaker 2: that's amazing. I mean, you're helping so many people. That's
- 11:45Speaker 2: that's awesome. Why can't you tell anything that, Well, it's
- 11:49Speaker 2: all wrapped up in politics now. Cordulla Soma, the leader
- 11:58Speaker 2: of the Core gang. That's a weird thing to say
- 12:01Speaker 2: because she's so nice and she's so noble, and she's
- 12:05Speaker 2: so running for mayor. Yes, she's so running for mayor.
- 12:10Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 2: And I don't know what Arthur thinks about all that.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's all tied to you know, their
- 12:17Speaker 2: background and crime and the history of the Core Gang
- 12:19Speaker 2: is not a nice one, but she's a good person.
- 12:22Speaker 2: She wants to help this city, and she started with
- 12:25Speaker 2: this project and she took me on, you know, not
- 12:28Speaker 2: too many years ago, and I just wanted to let
- 12:31Speaker 2: you know that that's like what I've been working on.
- 12:33Speaker 2: And I had to tell somebody because it's so it's
- 12:34Speaker 2: so exciting. It's like the culmination of a lot of work,
- 12:39Speaker 2: years of work. It's amazing. Page. I'm I'm really proud
- 12:42Speaker 2: of you. Thanks, Jess. Maybe we could we can celebrate,
- 12:53Speaker 2: not tonight, but maybe sure, Yeah, go out for a
- 12:57Speaker 2: drink or I'd love that. I mean, you're not busy
- 13:02Speaker 2: going out with your your friend Elaine?
- 13:07Speaker 1: Oh uh.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Elaine is uh. Elaine's great and she can she can
- 13:15Speaker 2: come and celebrate with us. She's she's just a friend, Jason.
- 13:21Speaker 4: Jason is like thumbing through a big at list, just like, yeah, okay, cool,
- 13:26Speaker 4: Oh just a friend, nice? Oh really yeah, just just
- 13:28Speaker 4: a good friend. Did you think there's something different going
- 13:33Speaker 4: on there?
- 13:34Speaker 2: I don't know. You just seemed like so excited and yeah, well,
- 13:41Speaker 2: I mean she's a cool person. I was excited to
- 13:43Speaker 2: meet her, excited to show her around, it's not always
- 13:46Speaker 2: easy to make new friends when you're in our stage
- 13:50Speaker 2: of life. But I was just I guess I was excited.
- 13:54Speaker 2: But no, she's not not anything. I'm not really like.
- 13:58Speaker 2: We're not romantic. Cool.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Yeah, nice, that's I mean, that's that's neutral. That's normal.
- 14:10Speaker 4: That's good, but also not bad. It's fine, that's great ye. Information.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so let's celebrate yeah soon.
- 14:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I gotta show you these the things the old
- 14:24Speaker 4: people smoke that we've been smoking is so good.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Okay, you have to tell me what's happening. You guys
- 14:31Speaker 2: aren't smoking, are you? It's just me and you? What's
- 14:34Speaker 2: going on with Arthur?
- 14:38Speaker 4: I don't want to keep you in the dark, Okay,
- 14:42Speaker 4: but I don't know. Sometimes there's there's stuff in the
- 14:47Speaker 4: dark that it's safe there. It's maybe better to not know,
- 14:55Speaker 4: but I don't want to lie. Okay, that's just so cryptic.
- 15:04Speaker 4: Are you let me just say? Are you safe?
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:07Speaker 4: That's what I was going to say, is we're we're all.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Everything's good, everything's safe, there's nothing to worry about, Okay,
- 15:19Speaker 4: I mean except for just how painfully.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Old Arthur is. I know, I know he's so old, but.
- 15:26Speaker 4: Uh, I'm pretty sure when I heard him sit down
- 15:28Speaker 4: the other day and it sounded like dust coming coming
- 15:32Speaker 4: out of a book.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Rude. Yeah, like I think it was his joints. I
- 15:38Speaker 2: don't know. I know he is so old. I trust you, okay,
- 15:42Speaker 2: if if you tell me that, if you're telling me
- 15:45Speaker 2: that the two of you are safe and then I
- 15:47Speaker 2: don't need to worry, then I'll do my best to not.
- 15:51Speaker 2: But I love you too, I'm You're my family, you know,
- 15:54Speaker 2: and so I you know I'm gonna worry a little.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I understand. I put my hand on her shoulder. I promise, okay,
- 16:18Speaker 2: But yeah, I want I want to celebrate with you.
- 16:19Speaker 2: And if you have any friends you want to bring,
- 16:22Speaker 2: I'm happy to celebrate with them. And yeah, and I
- 16:26Speaker 2: want to show you, I asked. I asked Cordola if
- 16:30Speaker 2: I could bring and show somebody what we've been working on,
- 16:33Speaker 2: and she said it was okay if you're trustworthy.
- 16:35Speaker 4: So yeah, that sounds amazing, and yeah, I do. I
- 16:40Speaker 4: I know I've been busy lately, but it's because I
- 16:42Speaker 4: found some some friends to hang out with.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Really, Yeah, how'd you meet him? Uh? Book club? That
- 16:51Speaker 2: makes sense. I don't know why you didn't start a
- 16:54Speaker 2: book club forever ago. I know it's so stupid. I
- 16:58Speaker 2: thought you were just supposed to not read the book
- 17:00Speaker 2: and drink wine. That was my understanding. But you could,
- 17:03Speaker 2: you could we read the books. That's great. Uh no,
- 17:06Speaker 2: that's great. I'm happy for you.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Thanks, I'm I'm excited to celebrate.
- 17:12Speaker 2: And yeah, we can. I've never had a kiwi before.
- 17:16Speaker 2: He has a kiwi. They are making kiwi.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Hell yeah, and shout out to Kiwi.
- 17:24Speaker 2: You know, yeah, sure, Jason shout out. I say to
- 17:29Speaker 2: no one and there was Yeah, there was nothing going
- 17:36Speaker 2: on with with Mina Lane. I want you to know
- 17:38Speaker 2: that it's we're not seeing each other again.
- 17:45Speaker 4: If you were, that would be fine. Oh I want
- 17:48Speaker 4: you to know that we're not. That's interesting that you
- 17:50Speaker 4: want me to know that.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, that's all I wanted to tell you.
- 17:56Speaker 4: I'm thanks, that's exciting news. And yeah, I I'll bring
- 18:01Speaker 4: my friends and yeah, we'll find a time to to party.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Would we be like in the station, like going to
- 18:06Speaker 4: the ship, Well you can, I can only bring in
- 18:10Speaker 4: one person, but gotcha. Uh but yeah, but then for
- 18:16Speaker 4: the for for celebrating, we can, you know, go out.
- 18:19Speaker 4: I can bring a friend or two and you can
- 18:22Speaker 4: bring your friends and where could be us.
- 18:25Speaker 2: You know, let's play it by you. Okay, yeah, we'll
- 18:28Speaker 2: play it by you. We'll just play okay, Okay, I
- 18:32Speaker 2: gotta go home. Yeah, yeah, yeah, this was so fun.
- 18:35Speaker 2: All right. I like hug her badly as you kind
- 18:41Speaker 2: of try to hug or she comes in for a
- 18:44Speaker 2: big hug and hugs you in a real wady all right,
- 18:59Speaker 2: you and Arthur keep having fun with guys night. Or
- 19:02Speaker 2: you said I'm gonna go home, love you? I mean
- 19:06Speaker 2: bye bye? Whoa? As Jason and Paige awkwardly stumble over
- 19:13Speaker 2: their words, It's just I just have a book in
- 19:22Speaker 2: my pants.
- 19:25Speaker 1: It was transcribing the.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Arthur opens the door to his secret room and allows
- 19:36Speaker 2: in two people who shouldn't see what they're about to.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Arthur's room is a menagerie of trinkets, old dusty books.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Oh I shouldn't be seeing this.
- 19:54Speaker 2: There's a plinth in the middle, marble plinth that is bare,
- 20:00Speaker 2: and a shining brown staff intricately carved with a green
- 20:05Speaker 2: orb on top resting its head. In the corner, a
- 20:12Speaker 2: desk with candles, sigils, chains. This is Arthur's room. Oh yeah,
- 20:25Speaker 2: I got a couple of chairs over there, fold a bolt,
- 20:29Speaker 2: you can.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Unfold him off the wall. Thank you.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Let me see here, he let me see. He goes
- 20:36Speaker 2: over to the wall and he pulls a curtain off
- 20:39Speaker 2: of an old chalkboard and he wheels it out. Okay,
- 20:43Speaker 2: get this right here and see if I got chalk anywhere.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Jamir's just gonna summon a flight star and just sit
- 20:51Speaker 3: on it casually now that since I already showed it
- 20:55Speaker 3: my powers down below, flying away from page.
- 20:59Speaker 2: He it takes him a minute to realize. He's like
- 21:02Speaker 2: looking at the chalkboard and cluttering in his desk, looking
- 21:05Speaker 2: for chalk and the eraser and where's that eraser? He
- 21:08Speaker 2: turns around. Who he might be a little magic there?
- 21:13Speaker 2: Love to know more? Yeah, once Jason gets back. Jeez,
- 21:17Speaker 2: So I'm Arthur, you know I Jason's kind of my.
- 21:27Speaker 9: Well it says, he says, you're like he's dead. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 21:31Speaker 9: that's nice. I adopted him. I told him he didn't
- 21:34Speaker 9: need to call me dad or nothing. But I adopted
- 21:37Speaker 9: him when he was you know, fourteen or fifteen or something.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Wow, that's amazing.
- 21:44Speaker 2: He's a good kid. He's an amazing kid. He needed
- 21:47Speaker 2: a place, you know, place that felt comfortable.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Well, he told us you were just a stranger that
- 21:53Speaker 1: we hadn't met yet.
- 21:54Speaker 2: So hey, that's true. Nice to think about it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Yeah, that is true.
- 22:00Speaker 2: If you had met me before tonight, I would have
- 22:03Speaker 2: been a stranger. But know that you hadn't met. But
- 22:08Speaker 2: now we've met. But I was a stranger before we'd met.
- 22:11Speaker 2: It makes so much sense.
- 22:14Speaker 4: I come in through the door, bright red, cool, cool
- 22:19Speaker 4: you all right there, buddy, Yep?
- 22:21Speaker 2: Normal book stuff?
- 22:24Speaker 1: You guys is going crazy?
- 22:28Speaker 2: Phantom is Jason? All right? Nothing? Nothing gets me going
- 22:31Speaker 2: like looking for books late at night?
- 22:33Speaker 4: You know me?
- 22:34Speaker 1: Are you guys kissings? What were you kissing?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Were you kissing? No, No, we weren't kissing. I tell
- 22:42Speaker 2: you if they were kissing, shut up. Okay, what's up? Okay, guys,
- 22:48Speaker 2: thank you, thank you, Jamir, I mean friend, dude, Fuck,
- 22:55Speaker 2: that's Jesus, it's okay.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Pops off of his flight story and it's like, I
- 23:04Speaker 3: come here. We said, I'm clearly covering my identity. Is
- 23:09Speaker 3: this what you do? Do you just tell our names
- 23:12Speaker 3: to everyone? Is this what you do?
- 23:13Speaker 2: It's just Arthur. He's just a stranger that you haven't
- 23:15Speaker 2: met yet, do we have to kill him after he
- 23:18Speaker 2: tells us he's gonna die in an hour? Probably, I'm
- 23:21Speaker 2: not gonna die. I'm not gonna tell anyone. I promise
- 23:24Speaker 2: I can make.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Him forget that.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Jason said that, Rachel, if you.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Want to probably forget, No, do the thing.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Zap is brain, Okay, Ronnie, No, Ronnie, don't, zap is brain.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I'm just removing. I'm just moving right.
- 23:39Speaker 2: It's your fault, Jason.
- 23:41Speaker 1: You did this, sir. I'm gonna erase my friend's name
- 23:45Speaker 1: from your brain.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:46Speaker 5: I close my eyes and then I open them because
- 23:50Speaker 5: I have to see.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Where the neural pathways are to erase that memory.
- 23:58Speaker 2: All right, roll a knowledge check. This is a small memory.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I'm rolling an average check.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Madden Control Electricity.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I rolled one. You go into Arthur's defense. Arthur puts
- 24:18Speaker 2: up a very weak mental defense.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Shout out to the elderly. We're big fans of the older.
- 24:23Speaker 3: This is not represent This representative that we feel about
- 24:27Speaker 3: the elderly.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Here's what happens. Arthur seems as though he's offering you
- 24:33Speaker 2: the fact that he heard Jimmyer's name. Yeah, and you
- 24:35Speaker 2: wipe that away. He does seem to have some powerful
- 24:39Speaker 2: control over what's happening in his mind.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Respect All right, it's done.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Okay, where was I? There's old magic? Well, no magic.
- 24:50Speaker 2: You guys want to know about magic? Yeah, yes, yes,
- 24:52Speaker 2: please that there's old magic and there's new magic. Old magic.
- 24:57Speaker 2: It is also called realm magic. So if you just
- 25:00Speaker 2: if you hear old magic or realm magic, it's all
- 25:02Speaker 2: the same. Okay, here's how the story goes. The first
- 25:19Speaker 2: souls that passed into the after found that there was nothing,
- 25:26Speaker 2: and yet they still had themselves. And here's what I
- 25:33Speaker 2: was made to memorize. Wise Eve said that those who
- 25:41Speaker 2: did great wickedness and great good on earth should be judged,
- 25:46Speaker 2: and thus she shaped a place of waiting called justice,
- 25:52Speaker 2: where she judged the fate of their life in the after.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And then generous Manu said those that lived well on
- 26:02Speaker 2: earth should be rewarded with a place of joy and peace,
- 26:06Speaker 2: and shaped a place of waiting called Elysium or heaven.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Then lustful and jubilous Asker said, those who care not
- 26:17Speaker 2: of good or ill, but only passion and creation should
- 26:22Speaker 2: have a place where all of their desires are fulfilled.
- 26:26Speaker 2: If you judge it so, Wise Eve, and thus ask
- 26:30Speaker 2: your shape to place of waiting where the deepest desires
- 26:34Speaker 2: of creatives and the passionate were fulfilled. It is said
- 26:37Speaker 2: that Eve was cautious in whom she sent there. Then
- 26:41Speaker 2: Shrewd Lilith said those who lived in wickedness and did
- 26:45Speaker 2: harm to others should find punishment in their time in
- 26:50Speaker 2: the after, and thus shaped a place of waiting where
- 26:53Speaker 2: souls were punished for the extent of their wickedness. This
- 26:57Speaker 2: has been called hell or Hades. And finally, kind Pandora said,
- 27:04Speaker 2: souls should not have to wait forever, if they desire
- 27:07Speaker 2: it not, I will ferry them beyond our shapes, unto oblivion,
- 27:13Speaker 2: or without their minds, back to the beginning. And thus
- 27:17Speaker 2: Pandora shaped a mighty vessel named the Runnel, with which
- 27:22Speaker 2: she bore souls through the void into annihilation or back
- 27:28Speaker 2: to the spirit. So then the types of magic drawl
- 27:34Speaker 2: from those realms. Those are the realms created by the
- 27:39Speaker 2: first souls in the after, And that there are languages
- 27:44Speaker 2: and runes that line up with each realm. And you
- 27:50Speaker 2: can learn that. There are times, however, when magic rears
- 27:54Speaker 2: its head without the knowledge, without the runes, without the language,
- 28:00Speaker 2: just Arthur pulls out an old book, leather bound read Jason,
- 28:08Speaker 2: where did you get this? Oh? Uh?
- 28:14Speaker 4: I look over chamir uh me. I they borrowed it
- 28:22Speaker 4: from your grandma's library. I'm just used to borrowing books.
- 28:28Speaker 4: It's the cultural thing about the library, and I was
- 28:33Speaker 4: gonna return it. I just Arthur knows about this kind
- 28:37Speaker 4: of stuff. And yeah, sorry, if you need.
- 28:47Speaker 2: To erase my memory again after I tell you this, though,
- 28:51Speaker 2: you remember that your memory was erased. Yeah, we talked
- 28:55Speaker 2: about it, but I don't remember what it was.
- 28:57Speaker 1: I didn't erase the fact that we erased it, just
- 28:59Speaker 1: to erase.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Relate, erase the thing. I don't remember anymore. Damn. Okay,
- 29:04Speaker 2: So if you need to do that again, that's fine,
- 29:07Speaker 2: But let me talk for a second. This book he
- 29:12Speaker 2: opens and flips through it. It is this bit of
- 29:17Speaker 2: a sad tale. Someone's searching and finding a lot, but
- 29:24Speaker 2: not the right bits and pieces. See that this spell
- 29:28Speaker 2: he points to a series of runs. See these runes
- 29:33Speaker 2: are from the realm of justice, Eve's realm. But then
- 29:38Speaker 2: these runs in the same spell are from the realm
- 29:44Speaker 2: of punishment Lili's realm, And the spells at times overlap. Yes,
- 29:51Speaker 2: but the runes and the languages must be said in order.
- 29:55Speaker 2: So this person, though trying so desperately to know and
- 30:01Speaker 2: to work and learn magic, they didn't have a teacher
- 30:05Speaker 2: who knew the who knew what to tell them, knew
- 30:08Speaker 2: the realms. So you can use these spets, Yeah, you
- 30:12Speaker 2: can read it. Yeah, I can read some of it. Okay,
- 30:23Speaker 2: that's old magic and new magic I know less about.
- 30:27Speaker 2: But that's the most I know about. How do I
- 30:30Speaker 2: say that I can do some new magic, which I'm
- 30:35Speaker 2: about to explain new magic, I know less about how
- 30:39Speaker 2: it works, more about the runic language of some new magic.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Here's what I'm trying to say. New magic is called
- 30:50Speaker 2: new not because of chronology. Some new magic is older
- 30:58Speaker 2: than humanity, but it's new because we've learned about it
- 31:04Speaker 2: more recently. And the person that taught me was a
- 31:08Speaker 2: practitioner of annihilation magic. And so the I really only
- 31:14Speaker 2: know the five new magics by name, Balance, Discord, Annihilation, Spirit,
- 31:23Speaker 2: and Star.
- 31:24Speaker 3: At the mention of Star, Jamir will hover a little
- 31:27Speaker 3: higher on his flight Star and just lead a little forward.
- 31:31Speaker 4: And Arthur, if you don't mind me asking who taught
- 31:34Speaker 4: you annihilation magic?
- 31:36Speaker 2: He points to Jason he points to you, I taught
- 31:42Speaker 2: you no, no, you fucked. I fucked everywhere. He points
- 31:48Speaker 2: to you. Jason. Not long ago, Jason was shot and killed.
- 31:57Speaker 2: In that book in your chest was the spell book
- 32:01Speaker 2: of the hero that called himself spellbook. Oh shit, And
- 32:20Speaker 2: it is a tone of annihilation. Maybe that's why I
- 32:25Speaker 2: destroy so many things. This is why I'm scared about
- 32:31Speaker 2: what's in you.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Well, okay, and you came into the possession spell books,
- 32:40Speaker 4: spell book, biz book. I point to my chest because
- 32:46Speaker 4: he taught you magic.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yes, and that's all I'll say about spell book. At this.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Jamir will'll pull his hood down of staring at Arthur,
- 33:04Speaker 3: trying to gauge his reaction. If any and Jamir, underneath
- 33:09Speaker 3: his hoodie is wearing the first leather mask of ever wing.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Make a sense check, Jamir, hold on everybody.
- 33:21Speaker 5: I would also, in light of the recent sentences spoken
- 33:25Speaker 5: by Arthur, do a scan to see what his state
- 33:28Speaker 5: is like. Why is he being cagey about this one thing?
- 33:33Speaker 2: You can also roll then against this stuff with your scan.
- 33:36Speaker 2: Stand back for my mighty D.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Six three seven? What the seven's today?
- 33:44Speaker 2: I rolled seven? Dang, Jamir, You look at Arthur. He's
- 33:50Speaker 2: old you wonder if there'll be some sort of reaction
- 33:54Speaker 2: on his face. He looks at you pretty stone cold.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Quantu you scan, I'll say, I think, on that close
- 34:04Speaker 2: of failure, do sense a hint of familiarity run through him?
- 34:09Speaker 2: But his face is blank. So he holds up the
- 34:18Speaker 2: spell book of the broken spell Book of Jimi Or's Grandma.
- 34:26Speaker 2: I give this back to you. It's yours.
- 34:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm still like half leaning have sitting on my
- 34:32Speaker 3: flight star and I'll kind of have it hover closer.
- 34:36Speaker 2: And I'll take it from him.
- 34:38Speaker 1: So you're saying, the person who wrote that one did
- 34:42Speaker 1: it incorrectly.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, there's a lot. I mean everything's in here.
- 34:48Speaker 2: There's bits, there's annihilation bits, justice bits, there's punishment bits.
- 34:53Speaker 2: It's all kinds of random, jumbled up. Again, some of
- 34:57Speaker 2: the spells would make sense if you, you know, put
- 35:01Speaker 2: them all in a single language.
- 35:02Speaker 1: But what about what about Jason? Is he going to be? Okay?
- 35:08Speaker 2: I really do not know, and I worry about it.
- 35:11Speaker 2: I'm doing what I can. He kind of gestures to
- 35:14Speaker 2: the room around you to study. I'm not The great
- 35:21Speaker 2: old wizards are gone. There's no one left who knows
- 35:24Speaker 2: this kind of stuff. At least not here in New Babbel,
- 35:27Speaker 2: maybe out there in the world. I'm trying to learn.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I'm trying. That's why why I got the book in
- 35:35Speaker 2: the first place, trying to learn.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Well, I mean, annihilation sounds I mean that sounds pretty bad.
- 35:42Speaker 4: It's well, the book saved my life, so it can't
- 35:47Speaker 4: be all bad. That's true, and there's bad. You're still here, Yeah,
- 35:54Speaker 4: that's good. And if annihilating bad stuff, that's something. Yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 4: I guess Arthur. The reason we were I know you
- 36:07Speaker 4: don't want to talk about Spellbook, but we were looking
- 36:10Speaker 4: for information because I know we want to. There's no
- 36:15Speaker 4: roadmap for us. There's no blueprint for how to operate
- 36:19Speaker 4: with this kind of power. So we just wanted to
- 36:24Speaker 4: know from people who maybe came before.
- 36:27Speaker 2: The story of Spellbook is a tragic one. And perhaps yep,
- 36:32Speaker 2: you said you'd say no more about it. So yeah,
- 36:35Speaker 2: but but perhaps I will come to a place where
- 36:37Speaker 2: I can. But the pain is close to me. Would you,
- 36:42Speaker 2: if it's too hard to say, would you let my
- 36:47Speaker 2: friend reach in?
- 36:51Speaker 5: Perhaps it's not a no, but I won't do it
- 36:54Speaker 5: without a yes. Yes, thank you, bye am. I've only
- 37:06Speaker 5: done this with sharing me before, so I think I
- 37:12Speaker 5: know how to do it.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Is it still? Yes?
- 37:16Speaker 4: Yes, yes, okay, yeah, she successfully made me go blind.
- 37:19Speaker 2: For a little bit.
- 37:20Speaker 1: That's not what I'm talking about.
- 37:21Speaker 5: Okay, Okay, before, I you know, touched four heads. So
- 37:28Speaker 5: if that's okay, just walk right in front of him.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Yes, and I'll try. I'll try to help. He goes
- 37:35Speaker 2: and grabs the staff off the wall.
- 37:38Speaker 5: And you know, maybe so he doesn't have to use words,
- 37:41Speaker 5: and yeah, I don't have to interpret. I just hold
- 37:44Speaker 5: out my hands to Jason Engineer. Thanks, all right, I'll
- 37:48Speaker 5: see if I can bring you in with me, and
- 37:50Speaker 5: I I pull up my abola clava so I can
- 37:54Speaker 5: actually touch day skin to human skin.
- 38:00Speaker 2: This will be a branching power, an attempt to go
- 38:03Speaker 2: grab a memory out of someone else's head and show
- 38:06Speaker 2: it to other people. I guess you can do that
- 38:10Speaker 2: with electricity. Probably, let's do it.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's how electricity works at my house.
- 38:18Speaker 1: It's all running through us. Now we're all touching.
- 38:20Speaker 2: It's electric because you're an EVO. It's just a single
- 38:23Speaker 2: godly check. And so I'm rolling a D twenty and
- 38:26Speaker 2: a D four. Okay, would someone please roll Arthur's magic die. Gosh, Jason,
- 38:32Speaker 2: it sounds like something you should do. Arthur's magic dye
- 38:36Speaker 2: is a D eight, so he's gonna help Quanta with this.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Okay, great, So you're.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Rolling knowledge okay, plus control, electricity.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Scanned scanned it.
- 38:48Speaker 5: I mean they're both two fours, but like scan it
- 38:51Speaker 5: makes more sense snaptic scan.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Okay. I rolled a one on my D six.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Arthur got a seven on his magic die.
- 38:59Speaker 1: And one on my four. That's a cut.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Nine total nothing. I rolled a five on my D
- 39:09Speaker 2: twenty and I rolled a four on my D four.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I rolled nine. There nothing we can do to help, right,
- 39:19Speaker 2: I can't do nothing to help that. Both of you
- 39:21Speaker 2: are magic kids. Yeah, magic kids. Wait, don't check what
- 39:25Speaker 2: I just said. There's nothing I could do? Yeah, I
- 39:31Speaker 2: mean I feel like the book the books all can I?
- 39:33Speaker 4: Yeah? Can I add some paper cents to this juice?
- 39:36Speaker 3: I could kind of charge up some magical energy in
- 39:40Speaker 3: my hands and try to we're all holding hands, send
- 39:43Speaker 3: good energy out and not try to form form it
- 39:47Speaker 3: into a blast.
- 39:48Speaker 2: All right, here's what I'm gonna do. I think the
- 39:50Speaker 2: two of you have only used the magic within you
- 39:53Speaker 2: for violence and not this kind of thing. Yes, I
- 39:57Speaker 2: think I'm gonna take that close fail and you're you're
- 40:00Speaker 2: gonna see why in a minute. Here's what happens. You
- 40:03Speaker 2: all close your eyes, holding hands Quanta, your head on
- 40:07Speaker 2: Arthur's forehead.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Okay, you ready?
- 40:12Speaker 2: You all open your eyes back in time on the
- 40:21Speaker 2: day that the hero known as Spellbook gave his life
- 40:26Speaker 2: to save millions.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Whoa Everything in this memory is safe.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Your tone, Jason, you open your eyes, not as Jason.
- 40:43Speaker 2: You look down, a wooden staff in your hand with
- 40:48Speaker 2: the green orb on top, the book that resides in
- 40:52Speaker 2: Jason's chest in your hand, a hood and a cloak
- 40:58Speaker 2: falling behind you. Jimir, you open your eyes. You see
- 41:07Speaker 2: first a screen with a hood, and past that sharp
- 41:14Speaker 2: eye slits whow. Everything you think channels through your body
- 41:21Speaker 2: to reacting to something, and you feel stiff metal wings
- 41:28Speaker 2: on your back, claws on your hands, though you're the
- 41:34Speaker 2: everwing of the Quanta. You open your eyes, you look down.
- 41:43Speaker 2: You also have a flowing cape, a helm with a
- 41:46Speaker 2: white fin streaking over the top of your head, a
- 41:51Speaker 2: blade attached to your arm. You feel your body. No
- 41:56Speaker 2: one else can see it, but you're a large day
- 41:59Speaker 2: man under armor. Derek. A woman runs up to you.
- 42:06Speaker 2: She has no clothes, her body is covered in fire.
- 42:15Speaker 2: She has a black bandana around her head. In her
- 42:19Speaker 2: hands are two chains that she drags behind her on
- 42:24Speaker 2: the ground with broken manacles. She looks at three of you. Spellbook,
- 42:33Speaker 2: Bright Blade, Everwing. War Hero has come to force the
- 42:39Speaker 2: last Evos on the space barge. We have to stop her.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Just as just as she says this, the sound barrier
- 42:48Speaker 2: breaks above you, a crack in the sky, and a
- 42:55Speaker 2: woman streaks through the air and lands an enormou miss
- 43:00Speaker 2: punch to the hero called war Hero, and they both
- 43:03Speaker 2: slamed into a building that starts falling down around here.
- 43:30Speaker 2: You all come out of this vision.
- 43:37Speaker 6: M h.
- 43:40Speaker 2: It didn't quite work. Huh almost? I felt that, did
- 43:47Speaker 2: you guys felt that right? Yeah?
- 43:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah yeah? I was. We we were all.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Dirk right, I was spelling. I was and I tapped
- 43:59Speaker 2: my leather.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Oh you were? You were the other two?
- 44:04Speaker 4: Jason Knuds, I'm why am I so hungry?
- 44:10Speaker 2: Hey? This is We'll try again. We'll try again, We'll
- 44:14Speaker 2: go back, We'll try again, and and you'll get more
- 44:18Speaker 2: of it. I'm tired. I'm tired me too. That was
- 44:22Speaker 2: of the magic.
- 44:24Speaker 1: I could really use some Grimace King right now.
- 44:27Speaker 2: After this, But any other questions about magic, I don't
- 44:35Speaker 2: even know what to ask that.
- 44:36Speaker 5: I mean, I feel like you gave us information and
- 44:38Speaker 5: now I know less than I did before.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Well I know a little bit about the new magics.
- 44:43Speaker 2: The old magics make the most sense to me, Like
- 44:46Speaker 2: I said, Yeah, souls of the first who died created
- 44:50Speaker 2: these realms, and then we can draw power from those
- 44:54Speaker 2: realms through like rudes and shit. Yeah okay, but sometimes
- 44:59Speaker 2: it just kind of happens. Sometimes it just happened, like
- 45:02Speaker 2: it happened to Jason. But that's a bad example, because
- 45:05Speaker 2: that's a new magic. Could I understand the premise though?
- 45:08Speaker 1: Okay, okay, could it just happened to a day person?
- 45:12Speaker 2: I don't. I don't see why not?
- 45:15Speaker 1: What did? What did these these five? Is there anything
- 45:18Speaker 1: about what they look like?
- 45:20Speaker 2: Only what what is in mythology? There are all characters
- 45:24Speaker 2: of mythology.
- 45:25Speaker 5: Right right, So like, but if like somebody you know,
- 45:31Speaker 5: must like draw them or like meet them, would they
- 45:35Speaker 5: you know?
- 45:36Speaker 1: Is there anything about what they look like?
- 45:38Speaker 2: That was never the point of these tales?
- 45:40Speaker 1: Sure, yeah, right, I have.
- 45:43Speaker 2: No information about that. But the new magics that balance
- 45:48Speaker 2: in discord make a little bit of sense to me?
- 45:51Speaker 2: Is this this is how it was told to me.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Balance is created when two things that are too different
- 46:00Speaker 2: things become one thing. There's a magic in that. You know,
- 46:06Speaker 2: fifty states is one nation. That's maybe a bad example.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Two people get married, they become one one thing, one marriage,
- 46:14Speaker 2: one one body or three yeah whatever, Yeah, but there's
- 46:28Speaker 2: like magic in that. But then when that breaks, there's
- 46:32Speaker 2: discord is created. So those energies have been building and
- 46:39Speaker 2: building for so long, and those are those again, they're
- 46:43Speaker 2: called new magic. That makes more sense to me because
- 46:46Speaker 2: that is a consequence of our humanity.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 46:49Speaker 4: Let me let me stop you here for a second. Okay,
- 46:52Speaker 4: not that I don't love a good theory of magic.
- 46:57Speaker 2: I do.
- 46:58Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, look no, but no one loves a
- 47:01Speaker 4: good theory of magic more than me. You know, spells.
- 47:05Speaker 4: We're trying to protect this city. I don't want to
- 47:09Speaker 4: destroy it. Can you teach us any magic that would help?
- 47:13Speaker 2: Like?
- 47:13Speaker 4: Is there protection magic? Is there something we can do
- 47:15Speaker 4: to to protect ourselves or people? I promised Paige I'd
- 47:22Speaker 4: protect you that we were safe.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Jason, I am so old. Wait what in my seeking
- 47:31Speaker 2: out to do the same I have brought great ruin
- 47:35Speaker 2: upon you. No, that's not.
- 47:50Speaker 4: Look before all this happened before I got this book
- 47:54Speaker 4: in my chest and met these two. It's like you
- 47:59Speaker 4: were saying, I whole, I've never felt more normal than now.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Whenever I ever told you you need to be normal, Jason,
- 48:14Speaker 2: I assumed you didn't. Because it's a losing battle for me.
- 48:21Speaker 1: Can confirm respectfully, Yes.
- 48:24Speaker 2: I've never been normal. You've never been normal, and magic's
- 48:28Speaker 2: not going to fix that. Magic is brought ruin to
- 48:32Speaker 2: the people I love the most.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Well, respectfully, we're going to fuck around with it, and
- 48:44Speaker 4: I think it would be better if we had some
- 48:49Speaker 4: instruction or guidance. Unless you just want I point to
- 48:55Speaker 4: my chest, Annihilation magic here to take both hands on
- 49:00Speaker 4: the wheel and do what is gonna happen.
- 49:05Speaker 2: The only magic I know how to do is from
- 49:08Speaker 2: that book, and the only magic I'm interested in learning
- 49:13Speaker 2: is to get it out of you while maintaining your life. Well,
- 49:18Speaker 2: I don't I don't want it out of me. Oh okay, okay,
- 49:27Speaker 2: you're gonna fuck around with magic, You're damn right, and
- 49:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna fuck around with getting that out of you.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Then we'll all fuck around and to find out.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Damn right, Well, while you guys are doing that, this
- 49:43Speaker 3: has been very helpful, sir. Do you have any kind
- 49:47Speaker 3: of do you have any kind of grammar or dictionary
- 49:53Speaker 3: for this rutic language accessing these magics that you know
- 49:58Speaker 3: a guy like me per se could read and learn
- 50:02Speaker 3: more about this stuff by themselves if they had their
- 50:04Speaker 3: own magical text on hand.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Yes, yes, he gestures to the books behind him. These
- 50:10Speaker 2: are all tomes of spells and things. I don't read them.
- 50:15Speaker 2: All I can, and I know a rune here or there.
- 50:19Speaker 2: What magic do you believe? Star magic? Star magic? Oh?
- 50:27Speaker 2: That is unique one. There are no texts on stars.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Damn it, I'm sorry it is. The old magics have
- 50:38Speaker 2: pretty clear runic systems, the new ones not so much.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Balance discord annihilation. Do Spirit and star are the two
- 50:50Speaker 2: magics that I and it seemed like the magic community
- 50:54Speaker 2: knew the least about.
- 50:56Speaker 4: All Right, wait a minute, what we saw when we
- 51:01Speaker 4: went into your brain was that that wasn't your Was
- 51:08Speaker 4: that your memory?
- 51:09Speaker 5: Uh?
- 51:09Speaker 2: No? Okay, okay, are.
- 51:14Speaker 1: You at all?
- 51:20Speaker 2: Go ahead and roll a sense chick.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Seven two also too, I added my scan got it?
- 51:28Speaker 2: This is an average check. I rolled an.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Eight dang dang ding dang dang do.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I think your characters decide whether to believe Arthur
- 51:38Speaker 2: or not in this moment.
- 51:41Speaker 5: I mean, we were all inside someone else out. Yeah,
- 51:47Speaker 5: how does that work? I guess I'm just wondering.
- 51:51Speaker 2: We know.
- 51:52Speaker 4: One of those people is still what if one of
- 51:58Speaker 4: the people from that memory, whoever's it was, Yeah, what
- 52:02Speaker 4: if they were just like chilling in like a basement
- 52:07Speaker 4: in a place that we know and have access to. Hypothetically,
- 52:13Speaker 4: that would be crazy. That would be crazy. It's just
- 52:16Speaker 4: a crazy hypothetical, right, But there, I should say there's
- 52:21Speaker 4: a lot there. There was a lot going on there.
- 52:23Speaker 4: When when you.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Quanta Quanta, when you did what you tried to do,
- 52:30Speaker 2: I don't know what kind of magic you have access to.
- 52:34Speaker 2: And I was trying to help with this, and you
- 52:36Speaker 2: eat gestures to his staff. Uh, And this is a
- 52:40Speaker 2: creation a tool of creation magic, so you can imbue
- 52:46Speaker 2: magics into certain things. I didn't do that I found
- 52:49Speaker 2: you know, this is part of my family's history. And
- 52:52Speaker 2: so I don't know. I don't know if I was
- 52:54Speaker 2: showing you my memory or just what you're supposed to
- 52:57Speaker 2: see based on the magics I'm a bad like I'm
- 53:01Speaker 2: not a good teacher for this. I'm no, no, no,
- 53:05Speaker 2: this is helpful. I was ill something. I wasn't a mage.
- 53:09Speaker 5: I just I mean, I'm learning a lot. I just
- 53:15Speaker 5: feel like not enough to know what to ask. Yeah,
- 53:18Speaker 5: it's all so new and strange.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Let's maybe let's let Arthur rest and we'll maybe try
- 53:27Speaker 4: this again later.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't I don't want to try to do
- 53:30Speaker 1: that again right now. Thanks Arthur, Thank you, sir, thank you.
- 53:36Speaker 1: It's good to meet the both of you.
- 53:37Speaker 3: And we've heard a lot of great things about you,
- 53:41Speaker 3: so it's.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Nice to meet you too. But we were never here obviously,
- 53:47Speaker 2: right right, And I was around when there were heroes,
- 53:51Speaker 2: and I'm glad you're back.
- 54:00Speaker 3: Jimir Duds pulls his hood back up and tries to
- 54:05Speaker 3: quietly leave the library.
- 54:09Speaker 5: Don't be a stranger, I say, pulling my bottle klava
- 54:12Speaker 5: back over my face.
- 54:17Speaker 2: I give Arthur a hug, and in his ear, I whisper,
- 54:21Speaker 2: I don't know what your political leanings are. We'll talk
- 54:25Speaker 2: about that later, okay, Okay, love you. I love you too, jeez,
- 54:44Speaker 2: and uh leo, what are you guys going to? A grimace?
- 54:46Speaker 2: King are you going back to Ronnie or Jamir's house
- 54:50Speaker 2: or do we want to get back into downtimes. I
- 54:54Speaker 2: know you guys.
- 54:55Speaker 4: Wanted to chase threads, but if there's anything we have
- 54:57Speaker 4: to unpack.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I'm thirsty for those threads.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Yeah, goods.
- 55:00Speaker 1: But we can unpack. We can unpack. We could unpack
- 55:03Speaker 1: the suitcase before we get mey threads.
- 55:06Speaker 2: We can do both the same time. You guys can
- 55:07Speaker 2: do it, do a fashion show montage and we can
- 55:10Speaker 2: we can chat.
- 55:10Speaker 1: I don't know whatever you Yeah, I think maybe that
- 55:13Speaker 1: night Ronnie would head back to her apartment with Jillian,
- 55:17Speaker 1: pick up some burgers on the way.
- 55:20Speaker 2: Sure, So we're still in downtime, so that would have
- 55:23Speaker 2: been the end of unmasked life. So we can move
- 55:27Speaker 2: into thread chasing. If that's what everybody wants to do.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Sounds good, I think so. Yeah, And we'll break here
- 55:34Speaker 2: for some fun advertisements.
- 55:37Speaker 1: So fun.
- 55:38Speaker 4: Get on down to the gream is king, Get on
- 55:41Speaker 4: down to the gream is ging?
- 55:44Speaker 1: That's your thing?
- 55:45Speaker 2: Get on, I'm having it all right. So what did
- 55:55Speaker 2: we give to thread chasing? Y'all?
- 55:57Speaker 7: Four?
- 55:58Speaker 2: Whoa all four four to me?
- 56:00Speaker 1: For me?
- 56:01Speaker 2: I did zero zero to threads? Ben I did zero.
- 56:06Speaker 3: I did four in Patrol three and Train two and
- 56:09Speaker 3: unmasked one and rest I did zero following threads.
- 56:14Speaker 4: Here's what I'll so. My unmasked was very juicy, and
- 56:18Speaker 4: I did I gave two to follow threads. If you'll allow,
- 56:22Speaker 4: I'd like to just get I'd like to donate those
- 56:25Speaker 4: threads to to have Jamir and Rigel get threaded up.
- 56:29Speaker 1: That's so nice. I also think it's fair.
- 56:32Speaker 4: I just want to attend the fashion show changing montage.
- 56:36Speaker 5: I also feel one of my threads should be donated
- 56:39Speaker 5: for all that juicy stuff about magic that felt that
- 56:44Speaker 5: felt like a lout, like you gave.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Us a lot. I guess in this moment, I will
- 56:49Speaker 2: let the paper Vantom give you a thread chasing point
- 56:52Speaker 2: to go get new suit with totally fine not getting
- 56:55Speaker 2: a suit. I'm totally fine. We want, I know, but
- 56:58Speaker 2: I made.
- 56:59Speaker 3: The choice put a zero and following threads, and I'm
- 57:02Speaker 3: fine with there being consequences.
- 57:04Speaker 1: We are so we're so thirsty for the group shopping.
- 57:09Speaker 4: Yeah, we want the shopping. And I'll say, you can
- 57:12Speaker 4: try on a lot of suits, but I get to
- 57:14Speaker 4: pick what you have to wear. No, I'm not going.
- 57:21Speaker 10: I have to imagine Ronnie and Jason trying to convince
- 57:24Speaker 10: Jamiir to go with them. He's just like texting back
- 57:28Speaker 10: on the cube, like, can't with my family, can't on patrol.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Daisy Dukes for you it is. We're going shopping. How
- 57:40Speaker 2: are you going about finding new suit? Quanta?
- 57:43Speaker 1: We had that lead? Uh, Sasha martin Glass of Sas
- 57:47Speaker 1: in the Glass of Sas. So we get out a
- 57:51Speaker 1: phone book.
- 57:53Speaker 2: I touched the phone book. Is it in there?
- 57:56Speaker 4: Boop, touch with my big pe my powers, my papers.
- 58:01Speaker 4: My big pea's resting right on it. Oh yeah, slap
- 58:04Speaker 4: it with my big pea. Yeah, okay, it's been like
- 58:08Speaker 4: a week.
- 58:12Speaker 2: Yes, the Glass of Sass is in the phone book.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Uh.
- 58:16Speaker 2: And the address is in Sass. Of course. It is
- 58:21Speaker 2: in a district called crows Hold.
- 58:28Speaker 1: I've never been there. I don't think.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Sounds nice.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Tub time.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, tub time. You gotta get like a car.
- 58:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it's hard to I guess get there quickly without
- 58:41Speaker 5: Jamier's star.
- 58:43Speaker 1: We could try the paper thing again.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess. So we're gonna go to the Glass
- 58:52Speaker 2: of SaaS. I think Jimi or do you want to
- 58:55Speaker 2: go with them? I think you should got you're going
- 58:58Speaker 2: you don't have a.
- 58:58Speaker 1: Chow ye where let's go. Let's spread out where ms
- 59:01Speaker 1: and pick him up on the way. Yeah, has no choice, you.
- 59:04Speaker 3: Need Yeah, I mean yeah, I mean I'm not gonna
- 59:07Speaker 3: not come.
- 59:08Speaker 1: But we pop out of a manhole and Jamir is
- 59:10Speaker 1: like tailing tailing somebody down the street.
- 59:15Speaker 2: Ye hey, hey, stop what you're doing.
- 59:17Speaker 1: Come with us.
- 59:18Speaker 2: We're going, we're gonna do, We're gonna.
- 59:20Speaker 1: Try, We're gonna we're gonna work. The ever wing got
- 59:25Speaker 1: her awesome suits.
- 59:27Speaker 3: I look at my dry fit. It's a little ratty.
- 59:30Speaker 3: The pits are a little, a little stayed in a
- 59:34Speaker 3: way that even after you wash it, the stains just
- 59:37Speaker 3: don't leave.
- 59:39Speaker 2: All right, I'll go yeah, shop bank, shop shop.
- 59:43Speaker 1: Can you can you fight stars there? Please?
- 59:46Speaker 2: Yeah? Thank you great. I'm gonna allow Jamir to come

- 59:56Speaker 3: My love of rules is classic with my like of fun.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: Got your priorities like, sorry to do to you, man,
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: but I think I think that you need I think
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: we all want you to go. No. I made the game.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: So the bright lights of the fanciful sections of Kno
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: are a gilded statue. John, damnity sual you said, John,
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: damn you John, You might come out like that, gloriously crafted,
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: but guilded. There is an air of living as though
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: nothing is the matter, because how could anything be the matter?
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: When we live here in Kono.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: In Crow's Hold, and in really all of SaaS, there
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: is no such deception. Instead, the people here indulge in
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: vices because.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Something is the matter. In fact, a lot is the matter.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: So you need dusty blues bars, grimy shot glasses, and
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: raw artists fury. As you get to Crow's Hold, it
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: is It's like one of those places in a city
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: where the street is the street that matters, and the
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: street is called crow Crow Street. Everything revolves around this street.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: There are buskers, there are open stalls, there are bars
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: with open windows and open those open garage door things.
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: Well, man, this looks like so much fun.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: It is a fun part of town. Who I don't know.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: If it's for you, Jimir, How have I never been here?
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: As you get to the address of the Glass of Sasas,
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: you're greeted by a glistening Marquis's sign that invites your
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: curiosity and gently wakes you with the simple words, she's
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: been around for a while. Colon the tailor.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: That sounds promising.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Shall we put my arms out to link up like
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: we're in the Wizard of Ouz.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Let's go Scarecrow and Dorothy.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: You enter this bar and you're wrapped in a ubiquitous
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: silver blue hue that excites your senses and at the
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: same time calms you into a state of lethargy and wonder.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: You don't mind the oppressive cigar smoke. It seems to fit,
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: and you don't notice the sticky floors, don't mind the
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: language state of apathy. The patrons of a glass of
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: sass seem to be trapped in. You're greeted by a
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: host standing in a host stand a large man, small
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: bowler cap. Evening.
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: It is like something weird happening to us or is
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: that just atmospheric?
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: Just atmosphere. It's a smokey barye. Uh yeah, he looks
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: you welcome in looking for a table. No, we're looking
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: not exactly.
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Someone a tailor. I think Sasha Martin.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Uh, Sasha Martin is about to go on. I wouldn't
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: interrupt her before her show. What a dream of it?
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: So so a table? Then I can see if she's
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: willing to talk after Okay, sure sounds good. You guys
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: sit you in the full paper. You guys sit at
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: the bar, or excuse me, you sit around a table.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: There is a stage, a small stage in this dusty
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: blues house. A small trio starts to play quietly, but
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: not enough yet to disturb the chatter in the room.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: A waiter comes over, What are you having tonight? You?
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: Three waters for it?
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: Okay, babble smoky please.
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: Battle smokey shore coffee, black black coffee. You got it.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: I'll be back gree if you sit here at this table?
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: Are people staring at us? You do notice that? Yeah,
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: people look, But also there's a bunch of other weird
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: people in this bar and in the street you just
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: walked off of. It is a kind of an eccentric,
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: artisty part of town. But yes, people are looking at you,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: and yes you notice quantum notice is more that some
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: peoples are curious and suspicious. No one seems to be threatening.
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: Adjust my sunglasses, make sure they're on on good, and
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: then try to act casual.
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: Jason's trying to drink hot black coffee with his entire
- 1:05:31Speaker 4: face covered in paper. It's blowing on it and like confused.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: This is I mean I thought this would be some
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: kind of like haberdasherie, but this is it.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what I was expecting, but not this.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: I like the vibe. Yeah, it's not complaining.
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: Yeah it's cool. Just wish you know, I had we
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: had worn our paper suits again or something.
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: I mean, we just could still do that, I guess.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: No, we're here.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Above the unintelligible murmur of the crowd, the lilting piano
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: begins to plank away, louder than it was before, and
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: walking onto the stage spotlighted, the tailor in navy and
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: silver begins to sing, transfixed by her hourglass silhouette that
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: moves stark against the light and haze. All you can
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: do is watch and listen to this drag queen.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: As she sings in jues Go stood buck and square
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: of Food of God, try to imbress me with your
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: suits of baby booz, sweety.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Eye been a round.

- 1:07:53Speaker 2: As she sings the song, she's joined by a man
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: who is dressed only in his underthings at first, and
- 1:08:01Speaker 2: in her song as she mentioned shoes, a shirt, a scarf,
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: suit the man, she dances around him and he slowly
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: is seemingly like magically getting dressed somehow as she throws
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: suppers and stripper. Yes, it's she reversed and strips him.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: It's a QUITCHI.
- 1:08:22Speaker 8: Artist, flash them charm They expensive gold rings, cashmere scarf cover.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: Straight through your.
- 1:09:06Speaker 7: Grettyt of things. Can see the mask you.
- 1:09:12Speaker 8: The sweety eye. Been around for.
- 1:09:27Speaker 7: Mister, rive it around.

- 1:10:03Speaker 1: Reverslesk.
- 1:10:05Speaker 2: At the end of her song, the man is fully dressed,
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: and the crowd, the small crowd in this bar, erupts
