- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where the.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Plays get broken down and science gets denied.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Off the Bench.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hour two of Off the Bench Live from the Raising
- 0:12Speaker 1: Kine Studio.
- 0:36Speaker 3: All Right, welcome back our numb buck to Off the Bench.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Hundred's past eight a m. Now, so you can say
- 0:48Speaker 3: as weapons.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Yeah, they're gonna open up a Canada West.
- 0:57Speaker 3: That's not even I guess it should be whit.
- 0:59Speaker 2: But yeah, which is that? If that's an improvement?
- 1:05Speaker 3: Alright, but again I applaud your effort to keep it
- 1:09Speaker 3: clean for the cheerings for the young out there.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I'm not around children much, so it's like, I don't
- 1:15Speaker 4: ever have to censor myself.
- 1:17Speaker 2: What would parents prefer just hearing that or kids being like,
- 1:21Speaker 2: is but whipp an actual thing?
- 1:24Speaker 3: I think we should trademark it?
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah for else take my idea, we're.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Not going to make anything actually good. What are we
- 1:34Speaker 2: going to put in the bottle to just like.
- 1:38Speaker 3: It's all market? Uh, you aren't around the youth, salot,
- 1:46Speaker 3: but you did show me a real funny picture. Y.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Yeah. So my cousin Bo, he's five years old, he's
- 1:53Speaker 4: gonna be six this year, which is so jarring because
- 1:58Speaker 4: I was basically like my aunt's and nanny at the time,
- 2:01Speaker 4: so I like when he was like a newborn baby,
- 2:04Speaker 4: I was like taking care of him. But it is
- 2:07Speaker 4: the hundredth day at school, so they all dressed up
- 2:11Speaker 4: as old people, and he's like this little old man
- 2:14Speaker 4: and it's so adorable. I'm gonna see if Taylor. I'm
- 2:18Speaker 4: just in a picture of it to Taylor, see if
- 2:19Speaker 4: he could pull it up. But it is the cutest
- 2:22Speaker 4: thing ever. And then she said that she went to
- 2:25Speaker 4: go drop him off and there's just a bunch a
- 2:26Speaker 4: little old like a bunch of kids, dresses a little yeah. Environment,
- 2:33Speaker 4: So I guess they do that now. I was telling you, Taylor.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Taylor said, they used to do glasses. We used to
- 2:37Speaker 4: just do a little T shirt.
- 2:39Speaker 3: He's like the hundred The picture he shed me is
- 2:41Speaker 3: full blood.
- 2:41Speaker 2: We used to make one hundred day glasses like the
- 2:44Speaker 2: zeros were the.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Eyes newspaper boy cat. He has little wrinkles on his head,
- 2:53Speaker 4: and I guess they painted his hair gray.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I can only hope that the entire class went all out.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Yeah, she said, there there's a bunch of little old
- 3:00Speaker 4: people there.
- 3:01Speaker 3: Okay, that's fantastic. I need to see that. I think
- 3:04Speaker 3: our school it's like one hundred day, Like they wear
- 3:06Speaker 3: a hundred you know, fethers or whatever, drink kets where
- 3:10Speaker 3: they can put on their shirts or hats whatever. I
- 3:12Speaker 3: don't know if today's a hundred day, though I've already
- 3:14Speaker 3: been there.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's pretty cute, though.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I feel like it takes a long time to get
- 3:20Speaker 3: to one hundred days of school because I feel like
- 3:21Speaker 3: they get a lot off days.
- 3:22Speaker 4: They do get a lot of off days.
- 3:24Speaker 3: It was a back in my day type of soapbox.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Here may that's a lot off days.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Back in my day, we didn't get the full week
- 3:29Speaker 4: of Thanksgiving off. We just got like Wednesday and Thursday
- 3:32Speaker 4: and Friday or something, maybe even just Thursday and Friday.
- 3:35Speaker 3: It's fall break, which is a full week.
- 3:37Speaker 4: It's Thanksgiving, Yeah, Christmas, Christmas, which is like the whole month.
- 3:41Speaker 4: Marti Gras, Yeah, we don't get spring over there. They
- 3:45Speaker 4: don't get Marty gral Easter.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yeah, what are we doing?
- 3:49Speaker 4: Why didn't they ever make spring break the same time
- 3:52Speaker 4: we solve?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:55Speaker 3: Is it not? I can't remember. For in college, I
- 4:01Speaker 3: know it was definitely not in college.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I don't think it was duram or at least not
- 4:05Speaker 4: for me. I don't know, mm hmm, but yeah, little
- 4:09Speaker 4: children dressed up as old people as hilarious.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Well was it? It was just Thanksgiving? Was just like
- 4:16Speaker 3: you're off Thursday and Friday, right, yeah? Or maybe maybe
- 4:19Speaker 3: a Wednesday?
- 4:20Speaker 4: Maybe, think maybe we had Wednesday off the kids these days, kids.
- 4:27Speaker 3: These days, they don't get it.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Good for them, they don't ever go to school.
- 4:34Speaker 3: All right, super Bowl week?
- 4:38Speaker 4: Who's doing the next?
- 4:39Speaker 3: Oh? Good question?
- 4:41Speaker 2: I know this, Arlie, Charlie, Charlie Booth. It worked.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Like picture this, I know this and then eyes closed,
- 4:53Speaker 3: finger to the scalp. How quickly did I get it?
- 4:58Speaker 2: After that?
- 4:59Speaker 4: Charlie?
- 5:01Speaker 2: You know, and you've heard some of his pu h.
- 5:05Speaker 3: That sounds like a day Okay, yeah, yeah, that's in
- 5:11Speaker 3: furious song. You nailed it.
- 5:13Speaker 4: If radio doesn't work out for me, all.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Right, I need to look up I'd like to look
- 5:19Speaker 3: up the I always like the always I enjoy that one. So,
- 5:25Speaker 3: like I said, this is you know, I think the
- 5:28Speaker 3: time of the year, we're not a ton of actual
- 5:31Speaker 3: sports to break down is happening. We're going to go
- 5:33Speaker 3: through a lot of the different problem best, but we
- 5:35Speaker 3: do have some NFL news, and it got me thinking,
- 5:38Speaker 3: there's there's I think we have wrapped up the coaching
- 5:43Speaker 3: and we'll get to that. But I was I was
- 5:45Speaker 3: looking at the coach, I was looking at the GM movements,
- 5:47Speaker 3: and it got the thinkment thinking this weekend and this
- 5:53Speaker 3: is a I kind of want this to be a
- 5:54Speaker 3: little roundtable discussion here, But who screwed up worse? Who
- 5:59Speaker 3: made the dumber move? And it's all pertains to the
- 6:02Speaker 3: super Bowl, the Seahawks versus the Patriots. Who made the
- 6:07Speaker 3: dumber move? The Minnesota Vikings or the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee Titans.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I think, so wow, that was fast.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I think I appreciate what Kevin O'Connell can do with quarterbacks,
- 6:20Speaker 2: and I get the JJ W wasn't great. You got
- 6:22Speaker 2: to understand this was technically JJ's rookie year. This was
- 6:26Speaker 2: his first year in the league. Like I'll give him
- 6:28Speaker 2: another year before like you know, we're completely out on him.
- 6:31Speaker 2: But he took you to the one seed as the Titans.
- 6:35Speaker 2: When the hell have you ever been the one seed?
- 6:38Speaker 2: Ryan Tannehill was your quarterback, You were the one seed.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Guess what, Tannehill when his contract was up in Tennessee.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Nobody in the league wanted him. He hadn't played since
- 6:47Speaker 2: and you were the one seed and were a game
- 6:49Speaker 2: away from making it to the super Bowl, and you
- 6:51Speaker 2: fired the guy. Now, guess what, You're gonna have top
- 6:54Speaker 2: five picks for the next four years.
- 6:57Speaker 3: I didn't realize that Raybo was there for six four seasons.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I knew he was there for a while, but if
- 7:03Speaker 3: you would have like gone to my head, I would
- 7:04Speaker 3: have said probably three or four years. But he did.
- 7:07Speaker 3: He get hired in twenty eighteen, went fifty four and
- 7:10Speaker 3: forty five with the Titans, which is respectable record with
- 7:15Speaker 3: the Titans, certainly over sixties, and then two and three
- 7:18Speaker 3: playoff record, Like you said, number one seed Tannehill quarterback,
- 7:26Speaker 3: and then they fire him out of nowhere. And I
- 7:29Speaker 3: think they fire a guy who was pretty much well
- 7:33Speaker 3: respected as a really good coach. So you fire somebody
- 7:36Speaker 3: that's approven good coach, Well, what does he do? Well,
- 7:40Speaker 3: he takes like a year off, he goes and like
- 7:42Speaker 3: you saw him working like the bags and the hitting
- 7:44Speaker 3: drills with the Browns last year. Then he takes a
- 7:48Speaker 3: job with the Patriots and all he does is go
- 7:53Speaker 3: nine to zero on the road, makes it to the
- 7:57Speaker 3: Super Bowl with a second year quarterback as a first
- 8:00Speaker 3: first year head coach, ties the record for the amount
- 8:03Speaker 3: of wins for a first year head coach in the
- 8:06Speaker 3: NFL history. So pretty decent, pretty good, So Titans, egg
- 8:12Speaker 3: on your face. But also on the other hand, counter
- 8:14Speaker 3: argument to what Taylor just said, Minnesota Vikings, you get
- 8:20Speaker 3: rid of Sam Darnold after a year where he had
- 8:24Speaker 3: an incredible year. You have a really good offensive mine
- 8:27Speaker 3: head coach Kevin O'Connell, and you get rid of your
- 8:30Speaker 3: starting quarterback because you believe that this quarterback out of
- 8:34Speaker 3: Michigan is your replacement. And it doesn't matter what anybody does,
- 8:39Speaker 3: doesn't matter who's available. You are going to trust that
- 8:41Speaker 3: draft pick and you're going to give him every opportunity. Well,
- 8:45Speaker 3: guess what happened. Person who made that decision is no
- 8:48Speaker 3: longer employed. There, Vikings fire general manager. I'm going to
- 8:53Speaker 3: try to say this name. I'm gonna try to say
- 8:55Speaker 3: it right, quesci adofo Mensa. How do you think I did?
- 8:58Speaker 2: You nailed it? Actually?
- 9:02Speaker 3: Or Queasi I heard I heard questiadofo Mensa fired. This
- 9:08Speaker 3: was like a Wall Street guy who got into football late.
- 9:12Speaker 3: He wasn't like a football dude got into it. I
- 9:14Speaker 3: think back in twenty thirteen with the Niners, kind of
- 9:17Speaker 3: a different way of thinking, a different molded or a
- 9:21Speaker 3: different mindset when it comes to his moves and how
- 9:25Speaker 3: he's you know, created a roster and procured a roster
- 9:28Speaker 3: and drafted well. He hadn't drafted well, and he's made
- 9:31Speaker 3: some terrible decisions. I think four of his twenty eight
- 9:33Speaker 3: players that he drafted as GM ended up being or
- 9:36Speaker 3: I think where the starters at the end of the year.
- 9:38Speaker 3: This year drafts classes so bad it makes the Saints
- 9:42Speaker 3: look good. And don't laugh at that, it's not funny.
- 9:49Speaker 3: So he decides to go with JJ McCarthy and reports
- 9:55Speaker 3: are saying, now, of course that Kevin O'Connell and every
- 9:57Speaker 3: the coaching staff did not want to get rid of
- 10:01Speaker 3: Sam Donald. Well, what does Sam Donald do? He goes
- 10:04Speaker 3: to the Seahawks leads them to the Super Bowl. So
- 10:07Speaker 3: these two castaways from these two organizations, Sam Donald Mike
- 10:11Speaker 3: Vrabel have led their teams in the first year there
- 10:15Speaker 3: to a Super Bowl. What else did this GM do? Well?
- 10:19Speaker 3: He also got rid of Daniel Jones, who Okay, that's
- 10:22Speaker 3: that one's excusable because he wasn't your starter in Minnesota.
- 10:25Speaker 3: But he did go somewhere else and get off the
- 10:28Speaker 3: first half of the season, got off to an MVP
- 10:31Speaker 3: type of start, got some injuries. We know what happened there.
- 10:34Speaker 3: But he did look like a capable quarterback, which your
- 10:37Speaker 3: quarterback did not look like a capable quarterback at any
- 10:41Speaker 3: point during the season, maybe the first week. He had
- 10:43Speaker 3: that one drive at the end of the game. I
- 10:46Speaker 3: can't was it the Bears, he'd be at the line.
- 10:48Speaker 2: It was the fourth quarter. Remember he came back in
- 10:50Speaker 2: the game.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Terrible the whole game, and then he has one drive
- 10:52Speaker 3: where he completes a couple of passes. Then all of
- 10:54Speaker 3: a sudden, his alter ego nine, he's nine after that
- 10:58Speaker 3: comes out. Then he gets hurt, and then he's terrible.
- 11:02Speaker 3: So I mean, okay, look, we're not closing the door
- 11:03Speaker 3: on JJ McCarthy. But the move that was made. You
- 11:06Speaker 3: had a guy last year planned towards an MVP caliber level.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Your team was really really good, and you got rid
- 11:12Speaker 3: of them, and at a time where the Vikings are
- 11:16Speaker 3: in kind of a strike now position, they had a
- 11:18Speaker 3: good roster. They had a good team. You're in the
- 11:20Speaker 3: NFC North, who is stacked with loaded with loaded with
- 11:24Speaker 3: teams and to make that decision. And oh yeah, one
- 11:27Speaker 3: other thing, they got rid of Sam Darnold, they got
- 11:31Speaker 3: rid of Daniel Jones. And guess who reports say wanted
- 11:35Speaker 3: to go there, Aaron Rodgers And they said no to that.
- 11:39Speaker 3: So not only did they get rid of the people
- 11:41Speaker 3: in the building, they shut the door from anybody else
- 11:44Speaker 3: coming in to play that position because they believed so much.
- 11:48Speaker 3: Or this one person, quesi Adofo Mensa nailed it again,
- 11:53Speaker 3: credit to myself because he believed so. I think it
- 11:58Speaker 3: is a such an inner questions. You answered it way
- 12:01Speaker 3: faster than I thought you would have. Of who made
- 12:03Speaker 3: the bigger mistake the Viking. The Vikings might be leading
- 12:08Speaker 3: the discussion for me because quarterback is the biggest domino
- 12:12Speaker 3: to fall on any team. I think it's harder to
- 12:14Speaker 3: find a good quarterback than it is to find a
- 12:16Speaker 3: good coach, and a good quarterback can make a good
- 12:19Speaker 3: coach look way better. If you have a quarterback, you
- 12:24Speaker 3: don't get rid of it for an unknown, especially even
- 12:27Speaker 3: if you have a first round pick invested in that unknown.
- 12:31Speaker 3: And at the position at the time where they did it.
- 12:34Speaker 3: Where the Vikings have a good roster. They have a
- 12:38Speaker 3: Justin Jefferson who's at the top of his game in
- 12:41Speaker 3: the NFL, the top of his position, and you're going
- 12:45Speaker 3: to get rid of that, So, you know what, One
- 12:48Speaker 3: man's trash, another man's treasure. The Seahawks find their quarterback
- 12:54Speaker 3: played at an MVP level for most of the season
- 12:57Speaker 3: and has led them to a super Bowl. The Paid
- 13:00Speaker 3: find their coach. They get rid of Jared Mayo after
- 13:03Speaker 3: one season. Who does that? Well, why'd they get rid
- 13:05Speaker 3: of him after one season? Because Mike Vrabel was available.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Do you think they get rid of a coach after
- 13:11Speaker 3: one year if they don't know what they're getting, They're
- 13:14Speaker 3: not like, holy hell, the Titans fired this guy. He's available,
- 13:21Speaker 3: So Jared Mayo, you better have like an incredible year
- 13:24Speaker 3: or we're going to hire this guy. It doesn't matter
- 13:26Speaker 3: who was coaching the page. It's not a not an
- 13:28Speaker 3: indictment on Jared Mayo. It's because Mike Rabel is such
- 13:32Speaker 3: a good head coach and a leader of men, and
- 13:34Speaker 3: obviously the Titans didn't see it. So both boneheaded mistakes
- 13:38Speaker 3: by the Vikings boneheaded mistake by the Titans, and now
- 13:42Speaker 3: the Titans of course those two gms, and oh yeah,
- 13:46Speaker 3: the GM who ended up firing. Let's see, what's his name,
- 13:50Speaker 3: ron Or Ran Carthon was a GM for the Titans
- 13:54Speaker 3: first year in fires Mike Rabel. Guess what, he's not
- 13:59Speaker 3: the GM any more. So you make dumb moves in
- 14:02Speaker 3: the NFL, and dumb moves that make you look bad
- 14:05Speaker 3: fast like these two have, you end up losing your
- 14:08Speaker 3: job over it. And so I gotta only speculate that
- 14:11Speaker 3: that was the main reason that the GM for the
- 14:13Speaker 3: Vikings got fired was because he got rid of their
- 14:17Speaker 3: quarterback and their quarterback stinks. So anybody else say it
- 14:20Speaker 3: any different? No, because, like.
- 14:23Speaker 2: You talked about it, it's not just getting rid of
- 14:27Speaker 2: Sam Donald. It's the fact that if you get rid
- 14:29Speaker 2: of Donald, you're trading McCarthy. Right. There was a report
- 14:32Speaker 2: last night that came out that it was the Raiders
- 14:34Speaker 2: that were looking to trade for JJ McCarthy. If you
- 14:37Speaker 2: trade for a starting quarterback a minimum, you're giving up
- 14:40Speaker 2: a first round pick. Could the Vikings potentially have, if
- 14:44Speaker 2: not the first overall pick, at least the top three
- 14:46Speaker 2: or four overall pick this year? That would have been
- 14:49Speaker 2: in the cards for the Vikings, and like it's like,
- 14:52Speaker 2: I think it's a bigger screw up, but also I
- 14:55Speaker 2: almost understand it more than the Titans. Like maybe the
- 15:00Speaker 2: GM wanted to come in and check things up, but
- 15:03Speaker 2: at least if you're mensa, you're like, I trust Kevin
- 15:06Speaker 2: O'Connell regardless of who the quarterback is. Now it's dangerous
- 15:09Speaker 2: and a backfire. But no to Rogers. You didn't trade McCarthy,
- 15:13Speaker 2: you didn't bring back Sam Donald. All those things together
- 15:16Speaker 2: is just a massive screw up.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Yeah, you could survive, like saying no to Rogers because
- 15:21Speaker 3: he did wasn't great in the Jets. He's an aging quarterback.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Blah blah blah. Look we got this young kid, we
- 15:25Speaker 3: got the quarterback whisper Like that's that's explainable. Maybe getting
- 15:32Speaker 3: rid of one person like whatever it is. But getting
- 15:35Speaker 3: rid of a starting quarterback that played at the level
- 15:38Speaker 3: that you did with a team that is not rebuilding.
- 15:41Speaker 3: You were not starting from the ground up with the
- 15:43Speaker 3: Vikings last year, that is inexcusable. And then just to
- 15:47Speaker 3: highlight that, he goes that quarterback you get rid of
- 15:50Speaker 3: goes and makes a Super Bowl looks pretty terrible. And
- 15:55Speaker 3: you know what that's there's there's consequences to everything, whether
- 15:58Speaker 3: it's good or bad. And if you know, you fire
- 16:00Speaker 3: the guy that goes to the super Bowl the next year,
- 16:02Speaker 3: you end up losing your job. That's kind of the
- 16:03Speaker 3: way it works. So long'd there any thoughts on this
- 16:09Speaker 3: want which one screwed up worse?
- 16:11Speaker 4: I think that the bigger screw up. I agree that
- 16:15Speaker 4: the mensa, like all of it added up, probably is
- 16:18Speaker 4: like one huge one. But firing my rabel, I think
- 16:23Speaker 4: is the bigger one because I think that you can
- 16:26Speaker 4: get away with having a good coach and not a
- 16:29Speaker 4: great quarterback, like with some scheme and stuff like that.
- 16:32Speaker 4: But I don't I don't know, Like I feel like
- 16:35Speaker 4: the Sam Donald thing, did anybody really see that coming?
- 16:39Speaker 4: Like did anybody really see Sam Donald going to the
- 16:43Speaker 4: super Bowl and like he had did did you did
- 16:47Speaker 4: you see that coming?
- 16:48Speaker 2: No? Because like the Vikings, Yeah, well to her point,
- 16:53Speaker 2: like I respect Kevin O'Connell so much, and I Donald
- 16:57Speaker 2: was great at how much of that was Kevin O'Connell
- 16:59Speaker 2: at that point that he was the outlier?
- 17:01Speaker 4: Ye, Selock's got a bunch of weapons too, that are
- 17:04Speaker 4: like like Jackson Smith and Jigba.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Like, I don't know, but a great team.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He's got a lot of
- 17:11Speaker 4: weapons around him, So I still don't know. I mean,
- 17:13Speaker 4: Sam Darnold's obviously really good quarterback. But I think that
- 17:17Speaker 4: the bigger screw up is letting go of Mike Rabel
- 17:20Speaker 4: because now the Titans like, what position are you in?
- 17:23Speaker 3: You know, not a great one? You hire Robert saw Up. Yeah,
- 17:28Speaker 3: it feels like a makeup higher, like a makeup higher
- 17:31Speaker 3: a day ball.
- 17:31Speaker 2: We had, a defensive coach, had success. Let's trying to
- 17:35Speaker 2: bring back.
- 17:36Speaker 4: You can give him, you can give I feel like
- 17:38Speaker 4: you can give Robert Sali a mulligan for the Jets.
- 17:41Speaker 3: I think that you get anybody.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure. So like I I'm not going to
- 17:45Speaker 4: say that's a bad higher yet, is it a better
- 17:48Speaker 4: higher than Mike Rabel? No?
- 17:50Speaker 3: No Vikings defense cord Brian Flores, who has got interviews.
- 17:57Speaker 3: He's been a really good coach for really long time,
- 18:01Speaker 3: has a great name, great reputation, really good coach. He
- 18:05Speaker 3: has is getting interviews for head coaches. Well, he signs
- 18:09Speaker 3: back with the Vikings. Yeah, for reported six million a
- 18:11Speaker 3: year defensive coordinators, so like this six million number is
- 18:14Speaker 3: getting thrown like coordinator in the NFL. Good job. But
- 18:18Speaker 3: he made a statement the of the day and he
- 18:20Speaker 3: thanked everybody. He loves the will family, the owners, he
- 18:24Speaker 3: loves this head coach. He mentioned a lot of people
- 18:27Speaker 3: and never mentioned the GM. So this had like this
- 18:29Speaker 3: little stinky vibe to it where this GM was not.
- 18:32Speaker 3: It doesn't feel like, at least from an outsider perspective,
- 18:35Speaker 3: that he was very well liked within that building. So
- 18:39Speaker 3: the timing is weird, like you're gonna wait until, like
- 18:41Speaker 3: I think this mensa guy was at the Senior Bowl,
- 18:44Speaker 3: he was at doing all the scouting, and you wait
- 18:47Speaker 3: till like now to fire him when a lot of
- 18:49Speaker 3: like these probably really good prospects for young and young
- 18:53Speaker 3: enup and coming GM's. Probably a lot of guys have
- 18:55Speaker 3: re signed or taken jobs elsewhere, So the timing is weird.
- 18:59Speaker 3: It just probably felt like there was a lot of
- 19:01Speaker 3: internal pressure like hey, we got to get rid of this. Yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 3: this guy sucks, so he's out of there. But six
- 19:07Speaker 3: million coordinator NFL, it's a good time to be a
- 19:11Speaker 3: coach right now? Yeah, all right, A lot well It
- 19:15Speaker 3: doesn't really matter who the dumbest one is in this
- 19:17Speaker 3: whole situation, the Vikings or the Titans. They both made
- 19:21Speaker 3: a pretty big mistake and moral of the story. In
- 19:23Speaker 3: the NFL, it's a results oriented world, so if you
- 19:25Speaker 3: don't get the results, you get fired. Both those gms
- 19:27Speaker 3: who made those dumb decisions are no longer employed with
- 19:30Speaker 3: those organizations. So that's what happened. Sorry about it. We'll
- 19:35Speaker 3: keep talking sports. Right here, we come back aft thementrum
- 19:38Speaker 3: off the bench. Why'd you laugh? I said, we'll keep
- 19:41Speaker 3: talking sports.
- 19:42Speaker 4: I don't know it.
- 19:43Speaker 3: It's a sports show.
- 19:44Speaker 4: It's a great tease.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Thank you. I know nailed it. Gulf Coast Office Products.
- 19:49Speaker 3: You know, in today's world, your business cannot afford downtime.
- 19:53Speaker 3: So whether you're running a small office, school, full scale company, hospital,
- 19:57Speaker 3: whatever it is, it doesn't matter the size of the company,
- 20:00Speaker 3: they can help you out. They can fix you up.
- 20:02Speaker 3: So when the printer stop at the copiers jam, it
- 20:04Speaker 3: slows everything down. Business comes to a halt, and that
- 20:06Speaker 3: is where Golf Coast Office Product can step in. They're
- 20:10Speaker 3: Louisiana's leader in office technology. For over forty years, Golf
- 20:13Speaker 3: Coast has kept businesses like yours, running smoothly with printers, copiers,
- 20:17Speaker 3: managed it services that actually make sense. But what really
- 20:21Speaker 3: sets them apart is not just the technology, it's the people.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Their award winning local service team responds fast, keeps you
- 20:27Speaker 3: up and running, and treat your businesses like their own.
- 20:30Speaker 3: That's why you'll see their names and all these officers, schools,
- 20:33Speaker 3: athletic departments. They see them all over, proud partners of
- 20:36Speaker 3: the LSU, Tigers, the Saints, the Pelicans. Everybody go to
- 20:38Speaker 3: gcop net, dot com.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Tigers, turn talkers. This is off the.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Bench, all right, welcome back here off the bench Monday shows,
- 21:10Speaker 3: brought to you by Bye you board. I think we're
- 21:14Speaker 3: good at like do a good haul on oas day
- 21:16Speaker 3: every what two months? One month?
- 21:19Speaker 4: Did we do that? We did one recently?
- 21:21Speaker 3: No, I don't think recently. It was yeah, sure, no,
- 21:27Speaker 3: you have to have one.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Yeah, at least every two months. I want whatever they
- 21:35Speaker 4: were on because they were in that studio cooking, cooking.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Darryl Hall, John Oates. I think Darryl Hall was like
- 21:45Speaker 3: pretty widely regarded in the music world of having like
- 21:48Speaker 3: the best singing voice of It's pretty good. Everybody in
- 21:51Speaker 3: the world. All right, let's keep talking about NFL since
- 21:59Speaker 3: it is super Bowl week, the Big Game, the Big
- 22:04Speaker 3: Game almost like a Super Game. Someone I know who
- 22:09Speaker 3: gets in trouble for that.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I think it's if you're like, like, okay, if Guarantee
- 22:14Speaker 2: is carrying the super Bowl on the radio, you have
- 22:16Speaker 2: to say the Big Game, like I think if I think,
- 22:19Speaker 2: if you're promoting it, you have to say the Big Game.
- 22:23Speaker 2: If you're just casually chatting amongst your buds, I don't think.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I met don't listen to the super Bowl right here?
- 22:31Speaker 1: Mmmm?
- 22:33Speaker 3: I think I think that's the I watched the Big Game.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Listen to the Big Game, not the Super Bowl. Big Game.
- 22:45Speaker 3: A lot of new coaches in the NFL, Taylor, you
- 22:49Speaker 3: got the list? Can we run down? Because I think
- 22:51Speaker 3: we've talked about these coaches, these new coaching changes, a
- 22:53Speaker 3: lot of the different ones. But I think we are
- 22:57Speaker 3: putting a putting a cap on it. I think we have.
- 23:00Speaker 3: I don't think there's any vacacies left, is there? No,
- 23:03Speaker 3: that's a Raiders and Cardinals were the last ones. John
- 23:07Speaker 3: Harball to the Giants and then, as we just mentioned,
- 23:11Speaker 3: Clint Kubiak to the Raiders. Micha Lafloor to the Cardinals,
- 23:14Speaker 3: not Matt Lafleur. There's a little confusion on your confusion.
- 23:18Speaker 3: I was like the floor, where do you leave.
- 23:22Speaker 2: The fancy to the falcon.
- 23:25Speaker 4: The Packers to go to the Cardinals.
- 23:27Speaker 2: H my god, that's a that's a tough job just
- 23:31Speaker 2: because of the division.
- 23:32Speaker 3: You're the division like for the Cardinals that that was
- 23:34Speaker 3: not a sexy job to take it all.
- 23:36Speaker 4: And you have a little boo boo at quarterback.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Clint Kuby exercode man. I thought it was a little
- 23:43Speaker 2: weird that he took the Raiders job over the Cardinals.
- 23:46Speaker 2: I probably would have taken the Cardinals' job before the Raiders.
- 23:49Speaker 2: It's just me would have taken the Cardinals over the Raiders. Yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 2: I would have taken the Cardinals job over the Raiders.
- 23:56Speaker 2: The Kyler's not your long term answer. Can you be
- 23:58Speaker 2: your bridge guy for a year? Figure things out? Like
- 24:01Speaker 2: you're getting Mendoza, but okay, great, who's blocking for him?
- 24:06Speaker 2: Your line's awful. You got brock Bowers. You have nothing
- 24:09Speaker 2: on defense, at least with the Cardinals. Like Michael Wilson
- 24:12Speaker 2: was in a thousand yard receiver. Marvin Errison Junior is good.
- 24:15Speaker 2: You got a top five tight end and Trady McBride.
- 24:17Speaker 2: There's pieces there. You just don't have your quarterback. Figure
- 24:20Speaker 2: out their defense was good? Just the Raiders like they
- 24:23Speaker 2: have nothing. Yeah you have brock Bowers.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Yeah. But from an offensive minded perspective, Vegas. Yeah, if
- 24:29Speaker 3: you're if you're a coordinator, offensive coordinator, and you're going
- 24:34Speaker 3: to take a head coaching job, your first shot at it,
- 24:36Speaker 3: Like you give me quarterback, Yeah, if you want, you want,
- 24:42Speaker 3: you want to start fresh with a top quarterback, Like
- 24:45Speaker 3: you tell me, whatever the road is, you tell me, Okay,
- 24:47Speaker 3: you don't have this, you don't have that, you don't
- 24:49Speaker 3: have all of these things. But what you do get
- 24:54Speaker 3: as you get Fernana Mendoza with the number one overall
- 24:56Speaker 3: pick as his first year, and you can install your
- 24:58Speaker 3: offense and we're gonna give you four or five years
- 25:00Speaker 3: as the head coach. See what you got. I take
- 25:03Speaker 3: that and I say I can we can figure out
- 25:05Speaker 3: a way as long as you're right, GMS in place.
- 25:07Speaker 3: We've got Tom Brady makes some decisions. Good. We have
- 25:12Speaker 3: to be able to figure out the rest. But if
- 25:14Speaker 3: I can, if I can knock out the biggest domina,
- 25:16Speaker 3: like the Arizona thing. I'd rather be in the Raiders
- 25:20Speaker 3: Division than Arizona's division right now, just from the way
- 25:23Speaker 3: that well, yeah, because like none of them are great.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Miss most of the season this year, right because I
- 25:29Speaker 2: mean what he got hurt second to last game of
- 25:30Speaker 2: the year, He's gonna he's gonna miss at least the
- 25:33Speaker 2: large chunk of the season.
- 25:34Speaker 3: So the Broncos are good, but I don't think they're
- 25:39Speaker 3: They're like a fearful good. Like I'm not scared of
- 25:41Speaker 3: them type good. Now Seahawks I'm a little wary of.
- 25:45Speaker 2: And then what are what are the Chargers with all
- 25:47Speaker 2: their injuries? Like how of how does that work? Charge
- 25:49Speaker 2: is gonna Charger at some point? Right? Okay, Well those
- 25:53Speaker 2: are the those are the two. Over the weekend. Obviously
- 25:55Speaker 2: we mentioned John Harball with the Giants, Kevin Stefanski to
- 25:58Speaker 2: the Falcons, Robert Solos we mentioned earlier to the Titans.
- 26:03Speaker 2: The Ravens hired Jesse Mentor, who is the defensive coordinator
- 26:06Speaker 2: with the Chargers. Joe Brady gets promoted to head coach
- 26:09Speaker 2: at the Bills. Todd Monkin finally gets a shot. He's
- 26:13Speaker 2: going to the Browns. Jeff Halfley to the Dolphins and
- 26:17Speaker 2: Mike McCarthy to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 26:20Speaker 3: All right, let's talk winners and losers in the off season.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Give me your biggest loser first on each ofvl's biggest loser,
- 26:30Speaker 3: and then we'll come around talk about winners.
- 26:32Speaker 1: On that.
- 26:33Speaker 4: I think the Ravens. I don't know too much about
- 26:35Speaker 4: Jesse Minter, but to get rid of John Harball, like,
- 26:39Speaker 4: I don't know, it's what we always talk about, like
- 26:41Speaker 4: is the grass greener on the other side, I don't know.
- 26:45Speaker 4: And then the Steelers kind of feels like you made
- 26:51Speaker 4: a lateral move a little bit with getting firing Mike
- 26:54Speaker 4: Tomlin and hiring Mike McCarthy.
- 26:56Speaker 2: He's the offensive version.
- 26:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it feels like a very lateral So for me,
- 27:02Speaker 4: I think the Ravens just because you got rid of
- 27:04Speaker 4: John Harbaugh, who is keeping you in conversations for somebody
- 27:09Speaker 4: who is a coordinator, which everybody needs a shot at
- 27:12Speaker 4: some point, right, somebody has to start somewhere. But I
- 27:15Speaker 4: guess we'll just have to see how that works out.
- 27:18Speaker 2: My biggest loser is gonna be the Dolphins hiring Jeff Haffley.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Not that Jeff Haffley's not a good coach. It's just
- 27:25Speaker 2: all the talk was, how come Mike McDaniel can fix
- 27:28Speaker 2: this offense? You got to bring in somebody that can,
- 27:30Speaker 2: and you hire a defensive coach like I'm good with
- 27:32Speaker 2: going offense to defense. Also try something different if you're
- 27:37Speaker 2: the Dolphins, because you're never good. Eight straight coaching cycles.
- 27:40Speaker 2: They have hired a first time head coach. That's going
- 27:42Speaker 2: all the way back to Nick Saban by the way,
- 27:44Speaker 2: a first time NFL head coach. They continue to do
- 27:47Speaker 2: the same thing over and over. Not the sexiest higher
- 27:51Speaker 2: Your defense will be a lot better, but find me
- 27:54Speaker 2: a path to getting all those weapons of the ball
- 27:56Speaker 2: that you couldn't do the past few years. I don't
- 27:58Speaker 2: like that hire at all. That's my biggest lee.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Dolphins trying to become like Packers south right a little bit.
- 28:09Speaker 3: They take their new GM and he of course from
- 28:12Speaker 3: from Green Bay, and then longtime guy with the graa
- 28:15Speaker 3: Ay scout executive up in Green Bay, and then he
- 28:18Speaker 3: of course does something comfortable and familiar. So it's hard
- 28:22Speaker 3: to hire like a first time guy and say this
- 28:24Speaker 3: is a winner or a loser.
- 28:28Speaker 2: I mean, Pittsburgh, I don't think it wasn't great last
- 28:30Speaker 2: year either.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, yeah, I guess I don't know if
- 28:34Speaker 4: the Ravens are gonna end up being the loser out
- 28:36Speaker 4: of this field.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yeah, they take jesse mentor defensive guy that kind of
- 28:39Speaker 3: fits with the Ravens personality. The Steelers they do take,
- 28:43Speaker 3: I wouldn't I don't disagree with that comment that it's
- 28:46Speaker 3: a lateral move, but I think maybe they wanted to
- 28:49Speaker 3: make a lot like if you make a lateral move
- 28:50Speaker 3: from Mike Tomlin, that's you got a pretty good head coach, right,
- 28:53Speaker 3: And Mike Tomlin is the one that broke up in
- 28:56Speaker 3: that did the breakup in that situation. I think the
- 28:58Speaker 3: Steelers organization was a little bit maybe they knew it
- 29:02Speaker 3: was gonna happen. Maybe that was gonna be a like
- 29:04Speaker 3: they make an announcement together. But I think Tomlin doing
- 29:07Speaker 3: it so fast, I think it might have taken them
- 29:09Speaker 3: caught them all a little bit off guard. But I
- 29:11Speaker 3: think if you can find a lateral move to Mike Tomlin,
- 29:13Speaker 3: pretty good, right. And we've talked about Mike McCarthy's resume
- 29:18Speaker 3: on this record, it's very similar to you know, when
- 29:22Speaker 3: this is a handful of years ago when him and
- 29:24Speaker 3: Sean Payton were both available at the time, and Sean
- 29:28Speaker 3: Payton was like this guy that everybody was talking so
- 29:31Speaker 3: great about, and everybody was kind of like laughing at
- 29:33Speaker 3: Mike McCarthy, and I was like, well, so like the
- 29:35Speaker 3: same guy. Yeah, they're both really good head coaches. They
- 29:38Speaker 3: both have a Super Bowl victory, they both have they
- 29:41Speaker 3: both have MVP caliber quarterbacks. I know Drew never actually
- 29:44Speaker 3: won one, whether you know he should have or not
- 29:47Speaker 3: or whatever, but we know who Drew Brees is. They're
- 29:52Speaker 3: like the same coach. And so Mike McCarthy, Pittsburgh guy
- 29:56Speaker 3: you saw in this press conference. So I think that
- 29:58Speaker 3: I think that hire is actually a win. The biggest you.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Have neutral on that one.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's like a lot of these are wait
- 30:06Speaker 3: and see, especially with the new with the new hires,
- 30:09Speaker 3: but the Cardinals with Mike Lafore, like just the Cardinals
- 30:13Speaker 3: when you're like the last person to hire, Yeah, you
- 30:16Speaker 3: know that it's.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Just hire to Yeah, Like they were like, actually, we're
- 30:21Speaker 4: gonna also get rid.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Of well I mean I guess, I guess the Steelers
- 30:24Speaker 2: because the admitted to the playoffs and all that. But yeah,
- 30:26Speaker 2: I mean as far as like the bad teams yeah,
- 30:29Speaker 2: I wanted one more year of Jonathan Gannon so that
- 30:31Speaker 2: we can get a hard knocks. Yep, A little upset
- 30:33Speaker 2: about that, but.
- 30:34Speaker 3: I need you to pull some of those clips, Like
- 30:36Speaker 3: we were talking about some of the clips, like the
- 30:39Speaker 3: secondhand awkwardness that you get just watching them watching him,
- 30:43Speaker 3: you love them. That had been fantastic. He get a
- 30:47Speaker 3: hard knocks.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Wait, so that's your loser.
- 30:49Speaker 3: That's my loser. It's just and I don't know, like Mike,
- 30:53Speaker 3: he could be amazing, he could be great. We don't
- 30:56Speaker 3: know he's coming. Where's he coming from? The Chargers.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Well, he's coming from the under And I get it.
- 31:01Speaker 2: It's the McVeigh coaching tree. But yeah, I mean before
- 31:05Speaker 2: this season, did anybody know that Michae Lafore was even
- 31:10Speaker 2: on the Rams coaching stuff? I didn't hand up. I mean,
- 31:12Speaker 2: that's just to me, that was just kind of an
- 31:14Speaker 2: out of left field name.
- 31:16Speaker 3: I was like, oh, yeah, a hiring cycle like in
- 31:20Speaker 3: the NFL, when you're the last person to hire, you know,
- 31:23Speaker 3: it's just always going to rereak of desperation. Yeah, you're
- 31:26Speaker 3: you're reaching trying, so you you probably struck out in
- 31:28Speaker 3: all the names you wanted, all the names that you
- 31:30Speaker 3: had a good feeling that we're going to work out
- 31:33Speaker 3: and be a good head coach for a long good
- 31:35Speaker 3: long term head coach to bring in a new era
- 31:38Speaker 3: of Cardinal football and find a new find the franchise
- 31:42Speaker 3: quarterback and all this good stuff. But then when you don't,
- 31:45Speaker 3: when that doesn't happen, I think at that point you
- 31:48Speaker 3: tried to go find a diamond in the rough. You
- 31:50Speaker 3: go try to find the next great thing and try
- 31:52Speaker 3: to find an innovator, try to find someone. Can somebody
- 31:55Speaker 3: can this guy come and be the next Sean McVay,
- 31:57Speaker 3: Can he do it? Well? Everything else? So we struck
- 32:00Speaker 3: out on everything else, we might as well try, like
- 32:02Speaker 3: there's it's not gonna hurt anything to give it a try.
- 32:05Speaker 3: So you go and you try to find somebody that's
- 32:07Speaker 3: just going to be this person that came out of
- 32:09Speaker 3: left field that nobody knew if he was gonna work
- 32:12Speaker 3: out or not. And so we'll see the only time
- 32:14Speaker 3: will tell. But Cardinals are my loser there. All right,
- 32:18Speaker 3: Let's have a break. Let's go get some commercials in hell, y'all,
- 32:24Speaker 3: go back, talk a little winners, some more sports right here,
- 32:26Speaker 3: off the bench, Off the bench, all right, go to
- 32:33Speaker 3: go Tommy's Go Tommy's dot Com. Can I get a yo, Tommy? No, hell, Tommy,
- 32:42Speaker 3: here we go. We're gonna put a little little weight
- 32:44Speaker 3: behind that one. Good job, all right, you work with
- 32:48Speaker 3: good Tomas, You're gonna clearly see the difference. Tommy's windows, doors, inside,
- 32:52Speaker 3: and and you talk about the best in the business,
- 32:54Speaker 3: the best around ever since twenty sixteen. They just went awards.
- 32:58Speaker 3: They're stacking him hanging those bands every single year. Why
- 33:01Speaker 3: because they are the best in the business. When you
- 33:04Speaker 3: get them to work on your house, on your home,
- 33:07Speaker 3: whatever that product is, they are going to prove to
- 33:11Speaker 3: you that they're the best by working with integrity. They're
- 33:13Speaker 3: going to show you that they're dependable, they're professional and
- 33:16Speaker 3: the most important, Like when you get your house ripped
- 33:18Speaker 3: open and you got people in your house, you got
- 33:20Speaker 3: a project happening, you're sitting there waiting. They work efficiently.
- 33:23Speaker 3: They're going to get in, get the job done, and
- 33:25Speaker 3: get it done the right way. Give them a call
- 33:26Speaker 3: and go see them. Go Tommy's dot Com.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven. Champs Purple and Gold to the Core.
- 33:42Speaker 1: This is off the Bench with Hester and Flynn Matton
- 33:45Speaker 1: Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 34:00Speaker 3: All right, welcome back here off the bench, eight forty am.
- 34:06Speaker 3: I hope you're staying warm out there. It's been cold
- 34:10Speaker 3: for a long time. Ready for a little sun or
- 34:12Speaker 3: ready for a little warmth? Tired of dripping the faucets?
- 34:21Speaker 4: I didn't even drip mine, and my faucets are fine.
- 34:25Speaker 3: Don't take that advice, people, it's a myth. Don't take
- 34:27Speaker 3: that advice. It's not a myth at all.
- 34:29Speaker 4: My pipes are fine. Didn't drip not one faucet?
- 34:33Speaker 3: You ready to call Central? You didn't drip one faucet
- 34:38Speaker 3: one time?
- 34:38Speaker 2: No, We'll say I always wrapped mine, don't always drib them.
- 34:43Speaker 4: I don't think.
- 34:44Speaker 2: I don't even know where we're.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Going to wrap that outside.
- 34:47Speaker 4: I don't even know where mine are.
- 34:54Speaker 3: I feel like that's irresponsible a little bit. But you
- 34:57Speaker 3: did it.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Its been a whole week with me. You think did
- 35:01Speaker 4: that screen?
- 35:03Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Okay, here, batteries. We know what hard work looks like.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Nobody represents that's bever better than Pala Industrial Contractor's Pala

- 36:12Speaker 3: week we were at the Senior Bowl. Of course we've
- 36:14Speaker 3: already talked about the Nustbus, but I want to talk
- 36:16Speaker 3: about the eies. Huh, Jenny's Dunker never meet your heroes. Everybody.
- 36:27Speaker 3: I wanted to talk to this guy.
- 36:28Speaker 4: For the week, the whole week.
- 36:30Speaker 3: I wanted to talk to Jennings Dunker, beautiful Red Mullet,
- 36:35Speaker 3: an absolute unit dominating out there in practice. Do you
- 36:39Speaker 3: know what, never meet your heroes. We got an interview
- 36:43Speaker 3: with them. It wasn't really like it was like a
- 36:45Speaker 3: media day interview. It's one of these situations where it's
- 36:47Speaker 3: real awkward that these people are staying around, they don't
- 36:49Speaker 3: really want to be there, and go, hey, man, can
- 36:51Speaker 3: I get a couple questions with you? And they're like, okay, fine,
- 36:54Speaker 3: well we give it up. I was asking everybody like
- 36:57Speaker 3: four different questions. He was a big disappointment. He was
- 37:04Speaker 3: a big.
- 37:07Speaker 4: Like literally has zero opinions.
- 37:10Speaker 3: She sent me.
- 37:11Speaker 2: She sent me the video because obviously that wasn't getting posted.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Let'n't make no snopa. You've never been anywhere, you'd never
- 37:19Speaker 2: done anything. He didn't have any interest, he didn't have
- 37:22Speaker 2: any opinions. Just think of everything.
- 37:24Speaker 3: That's one thing he can changed about college college sports.
- 37:29Speaker 3: I don't think I'll change anything about college sports. All right, Cool,
- 37:33Speaker 3: what's your favorite football movie? I've never seen any football movies.
- 37:38Speaker 3: Red Red Flag, for sure. So I didn't even follow
- 37:41Speaker 3: up with the Varsity Blues question, what's your go to
- 37:44Speaker 3: order to talk about I don't think I've ever had
- 37:47Speaker 3: talk about how well you're gonna be a draft bust?
- 37:54Speaker 3: For sure?
- 37:55Speaker 4: Sorry, just based off these four questions alone, you're not.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Making Before that, I was ready to take him at
- 38:00Speaker 3: one overall.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Before the interview, he'd be like, thanks to Jenning's I'm
- 38:04Speaker 2: sure you'll crush the draft interviews.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Thanks to absolutely electric stuff you.
- 38:10Speaker 4: Chris Marler sends us this, uh interview. I didn't even
- 38:13Speaker 4: watch it because it was gonna make me mad. It
- 38:16Speaker 4: was like, oh, this this interview was electric.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like some amazing stuff here, right, takes it back?
- 38:22Speaker 3: That stuff was not amazing, I guess so he he did.
- 38:27Speaker 4: You're right though. I did ask him if he could
- 38:29Speaker 4: do the questions with us, and he was like, I
- 38:31Speaker 4: just need to go eat first.
- 38:33Speaker 3: I got a car blow. Yeah, what wasn't talk about?
- 38:36Speaker 3: No anyway, of course, we're having a little fun with this.
- 38:39Speaker 3: I hope he has a fantastic career. I was just
- 38:42Speaker 3: expecting so much because of this got fire red hair.
- 38:46Speaker 3: He was he was an absolute you know, he was
- 38:48Speaker 3: wearing like the shortest like butterfly shorts of practice too.
- 38:51Speaker 3: It's like you got it, fly it like tree trunks.
- 38:57Speaker 3: I wish him well, but it was a born interview
- 38:58Speaker 3: and he didn't have have. We just asked them the
- 39:00Speaker 3: wrong questions obviously. I mean, what football player would ever
- 39:03Speaker 3: watch a football movie? So there was a ridiculous question.
- 39:09Speaker 3: I should have asked him, do you like music? He
- 39:11Speaker 3: probably would have said no, I don't never heard music before.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I usually just wear headphones but don't actually turn them on.
- 39:17Speaker 3: No, he's canceling for life.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Oh.
- 39:21Speaker 4: The popular answer for favorite football movie was remember the Titans.
- 39:27Speaker 4: I said that the week before we left, and y'all
- 39:30Speaker 4: didn't agree with me. That my favorite.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Well, obviously it's not my favorite football movie. Yeah, remember
- 39:41Speaker 3: the Titans was the number one. Yeah, the program got
- 39:44Speaker 3: to vote.
- 39:45Speaker 4: The program did get one.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Any given Sunday gotta vote, yes, But like the programs
- 39:50Speaker 3: older than Varsity Blues, any given Sundays, it's gotta be
- 39:54Speaker 3: like right, and the same Sunday is older than Varus, it's.
- 39:58Speaker 4: Gotta be No one said Draft.
- 40:02Speaker 2: Wow, the movie.
- 40:02Speaker 3: About the Browns. None said that one, but nobody has.
- 40:06Speaker 2: He's scary that's a scary movie for them. None of
- 40:07Speaker 2: them want to be drafted by the Browns.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Like, not only have people not seen nobody saw Varsity Blues.
- 40:13Speaker 3: Not only have they not seen it, they had to
- 40:16Speaker 3: think about the words I said, like, wait, Varsity Blue?
- 40:20Speaker 3: Is that a movie? Oh? No, I hadn't seen that one.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Of course, barely even heard of it. Varsity Blues came
- 40:27Speaker 3: out in nineteen ninety nine. Any guesses on.
- 40:30Speaker 2: The da given Sunday came out? Man, I guess, I'll
- 40:33Speaker 2: say ninety eight, nineteen ninety nine, same year.
- 40:36Speaker 3: All right, so have same air and nailed that boom.
- 40:41Speaker 3: When did the Replacements come out? It was a big
- 40:43Speaker 3: football movie. Placements was later? They too much later?
- 40:47Speaker 2: No, it was probably early two thousands, a.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Lot of football movies. Thousand, two thousand, an elephant.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Rotten Tomatoes?
- 40:59Speaker 2: What's you? Maybe just have awful taste in movies. I
- 41:03Speaker 2: think roden Tomatoes sucks. Anytime I see a movie, they're
- 41:06Speaker 2: like this movie, he's in ninety percent on rotten Tomatoes.
- 41:08Speaker 2: I watched it.
- 41:09Speaker 3: I'm like, side yeah, not man. So usually you like
- 41:15Speaker 3: you look at the worst the rotten Tomato score is
- 41:20Speaker 3: probably the more you're gonna like it.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yep. I look at the audience score, my people.
- 41:25Speaker 3: So what was the one you was it Varsity Blues
- 41:27Speaker 3: or the replacements you just gave?
- 41:29Speaker 4: Replacements was in two thousand and.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Then Varsity Blues and any given Sunday, we're both.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Ninety nine years, big big air for football movie.
- 41:40Speaker 2: We had one in a one.
- 41:41Speaker 3: I have ever seen the movie The Last Boy Scout
- 41:45Speaker 3: with Bruce Willis. I believe I have Damon Wayne. Well,
- 41:50Speaker 3: the beginning scene of it is this football movie where
- 41:54Speaker 3: this guy's like drugged out of his mind, I believe,
- 41:57Speaker 3: and like he's a running back and he's running with
- 41:59Speaker 3: the ball. Okay, okay, all right, maybe i'm mister. It's
- 42:04Speaker 3: either the runner they guy tackling basically pulls out a
- 42:07Speaker 3: gun then shoots the ball carrier, or he shoots the
- 42:11Speaker 3: guy trying to tackle him. I can't remember. Oh yeah,
- 42:13Speaker 3: this is a city movie.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Is actually that's actually.
- 42:17Speaker 3: A movie game? Oh yeah, it's raining, it's in the game.
- 42:21Speaker 3: I think it's the I think it's the running back.
- 42:22Speaker 3: He's a ball carrier and he's running with the ball
- 42:24Speaker 3: and he starts shooting people trying to tackle him.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Well, that's what I was gonna ask roughness the guy
- 42:31Speaker 2: who fired the shot. Did he get ejected or did
- 42:33Speaker 2: he get to.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Was atmatic first down?
- 42:36Speaker 2: Targeting set out one? No, that's not as bad as
- 42:40Speaker 2: targeting no shot.
- 42:43Speaker 3: He had to set out the first half of the game.
- 42:45Speaker 3: The following game one series is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. When
- 42:51Speaker 3: someone brought up air bud, I'm sure, I'm assuming he's
- 42:54Speaker 3: made a golden, golden receiver.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Yeah, great movie.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Okay, I mean they had to deflate the hell out
- 43:01Speaker 3: of those balls for a dog to catch a football
- 43:04Speaker 3: right the cover of this movie.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Yeah, like Damon Wayne's here, I got it right here. Yeah,
- 43:09Speaker 2: Damon Waynes is holding a football and then Bruce will
- 43:12Speaker 2: fire in the background as a gun.
- 43:17Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't actually i've watched the movie.
- 43:20Speaker 3: This is like back in college, and I don't remember
- 43:22Speaker 3: how it ends. I just remember that beginning scene. I
- 43:24Speaker 3: didn't remember it well because I could remember if it
- 43:26Speaker 3: was a ballcarrier that did the shooting or the tackler.
- 43:29Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Yeah, a ball carrier doing the shooting running down the field. Yeah,
- 43:35Speaker 2: it's effective. Actually, like that better.
- 43:38Speaker 4: I don't get what the plot of this movie is,
- 43:40Speaker 4: but look.
- 43:40Speaker 2: At this, Look at this this movie cover.
- 43:42Speaker 4: Guys halle Berry is in this.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Obviously this was how to be late nineties two.
- 43:49Speaker 4: So the film follows a washed up private investigator, Bruce Willis,
- 43:54Speaker 4: who teams up with a scandalized former football star Waynes
- 43:58Speaker 4: to uncover a political conspiracy involving their former players. I
- 44:02Speaker 4: don't know how you come up with something.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Perfect for a movie that doesn't sound good. It's got
- 44:09Speaker 2: a big dust. I don't know what the pitch was.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Very the beginning scens electric lot of people in the
- 44:15Speaker 3: all right, we're gonna get to the bottom of us.
- 44:17Speaker 3: We're gonna keep talking football movies and clicked on the
- 44:20Speaker 3: last boy scout. Maybe we'll even watch that first scene
