Hello, and welcome to today's industry spotlight.
• 0:03
Today, we're looking at a huge milestone event.
• 0:07
That's the Emirati Women Forum 2026, organized
• 0:11
by the Dubai Women Establishment. The Dubai Electricity
• 0:15
and Water Authority, or DEWA for short, played
• 0:18
a major role as a strategic partner. It was held
• 0:21
under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Manal
• 0:24
bin Mohammed bin Rashid al -Maktoum. The forum
• 0:27
really showcased how DEWA is actively shaping
• 0:30
future development pathways. That includes the
• 0:33
energy, water, and sustainability sectors. A
• 0:37
major focus of the event was actually the leadership
• 0:39
of Emirati women. There was this discussion panel
• 0:42
titled Emirati Women, Leadership and Impact in
• 0:46
Vital Sectors. During that, Fatima Mohamed Al
• 0:49
-Jokhar outlined their core mission. She's the
• 0:52
senior legal advisor and chairperson of the DEWA
• 0:54
Women's Committee. She pointed out that Emirati
• 0:57
Women's Day is an annual national milestone.
• 1:00
This year's theme was We Emerge Stronger and
• 1:04
Better. She said it reflects the remarkable achievements
• 1:07
of Emirati women and their positive role in driving
• 1:10
prosperity. Through the Women's Committee, they
• 1:12
support DEWA's efforts to strengthen the presence
• 1:15
of Emirati women in influential positions. That's
• 1:18
both locally and globally. Al -Jokhar noted that
• 1:21
the committee provides a motivating work environment.
• 1:24
This empowers Emirati women, helps them keep
• 1:26
pace with rapid developments, and enables them
• 1:29
to transform challenges into opportunities. And
• 1:33
DEWA backs up this vision with some incredible
• 1:35
statistics. The organization currently has 1
• 1:38
,925 female employees. That includes 844 women
• 1:43
specifically in engineering and technical roles.
• 1:46
Plus, 1 ,185 are occupying supervisory positions.
• 1:51
In fact, Emirati women account for 85 % of DEWA's
• 1:55
total female workforce. This operational impact
• 1:59
was a key theme during the Women and Sustainability
• 2:01
Workshop. Mariam Abdulaziz Khan Sahib shared
• 2:05
her perspective on the environment that makes
• 2:06
this possible. She's the manager of corporate
• 2:09
sustainability. She noted DEWA's leadership in
• 2:11
  sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation.
• 2:15
There's a motivating work environment there that
• 2:17
fosters continuous development. The top management
• 2:20
strongly believes in the vital role of Emirati
• 2:23
  women in supporting sustainable development.
• 2:25
Because of this, Emirati women at DEWA are emerging
• 2:28
as real decision makers and influential partners.
• 2:31
The conversation then shifted to the future trajectory
• 2:34
of female leadership. Reem Al -Mansouri added
• 2:36
a powerful observation. She's the acting manager
• 2:39
of network design. She stated that the journey
• 2:42
of Emirati women is progressing from basic empowerment
• 2:44
to a more advanced stage. Now it's focused on
• 2:47
enhancing their impact and active participation
• 2:50
  in organizational development. Continued investment
• 2:53
in female talent enables DEWA to leverage their
• 2:56
expertise. This helps develop more efficient
• 2:58
and resilient work models while fostering innovation.
• 3:01
To truly demonstrate this commitment to innovation,
• 3:04
DEWA also hosted an interactive platform at the
• 3:07
forum. Visitors were given this unique opportunity
• 3:09
to explore the massive Mohammed bin Wash at Al
• 3:12
Maktoum Solar Park, and they did it using virtual
• 3:14
reality technology. This futuristic display was
• 3:18
complemented by a cultural corner, inspired by
• 3:20
Emirati heritage. It beautifully bridged the
• 3:23
gap between tradition and tomorrow. Now, here's
• 3:26
a question we'd like you to think about. We're
• 3:28
seeing the journey of women in the workforce
• 3:29
evolve. It's moving from basic empowerment to
• 3:32
active high -level decision -making in technical
• 3:34
fields. So, how can other global utility and
• 3:38
tech organizations replicate this model of success?
• 3:40
  Thank you for listening.
