- 1:07Speaker 1: since sinking your clocks. We all got an extra hour
- 1:13Speaker 1: of sleep on Sunday morning, but that's not my favorite
- 1:15Speaker 1: part of daylight savings time. It's getting up first thing
- 1:19Speaker 1: in the morning after the time change and sinking all
- 1:22Speaker 1: of the clocks in our house. In our kitchen alone,
- 1:26Speaker 1: there's a clock on the stove, the microwave, the coffee maker,
- 1:30Speaker 1: the toaster, oven, and a clock on the wall. Maybe
- 1:34Speaker 1: it's just me, but I love it when they are
- 1:37Speaker 1: all matched up almost to the second. Now, let's get
- 1:42Speaker 1: to football and the radio replays from a primetime win
- 1:46Speaker 1: over the Buffalo Bills tonight, the eyes of the football
- 1:51Speaker 1: world are on downtown Cincinnati is Two of the NFL's
- 1:54Speaker 1: best teams, led by superstar quarterbacks, go head to head
- 2:00Speaker 1: in a prime time showdown. It's Joe Burrow and the
- 2:04Speaker 1: Bengals versus Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, and it
- 2:09Speaker 1: is time for the pigskin to fly here in the jungle.
- 2:13Speaker 1: The Bengals go empty on first and goal from the seven. Burrow,
- 2:17Speaker 1: back at the twelve, catches the snap short drop throws
- 2:21Speaker 1: it into the back left corner of.
- 2:22Speaker 2: The end zone pot by IRV Smith Junior.
- 2:26Speaker 3: His first touchdown has a Cincinnati Bengal and the Bengals
- 2:30Speaker 3: are on the scoreboard first.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Jordan Poyer was in coverage. You beat a good one.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Joe Burrow put it up. What a drive.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Latavious Murray, a bigger running back, checks into the game.
- 2:41Speaker 1: On first and goal, Alan fakes to him. Pump Fakes,
- 2:45Speaker 1: runs toward the pylon and does a little taunting of
- 2:48Speaker 1: Nick Scott as he cruises into the end zone. There
- 2:50Speaker 1: are two penalty flags thrown late on the play. Now
- 2:54Speaker 1: it's third down in goal from the two. Chase Alone
- 2:57Speaker 1: out to the left, Boyden Higgins out to the right.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Burrow hands it to.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Mixon and he will go flow into the end zone
- 3:05Speaker 2: for a touchdown.
- 3:07Speaker 3: And here comes the jungle jump as the Bengals have
- 3:11Speaker 3: gone back in front.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Shotgun snap Allen to throw. Pump Fakes fires a strike,
- 3:17Speaker 1: intercepting Cam Taylor.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Brett picks it off at the thirty two yard line.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Big third down and seven play coming up. Trayon Williams
- 3:27Speaker 1: in the game. He lines up to the left of
- 3:28Speaker 1: Joe Burrow. Joe has the ball under pressure, dumps it
- 3:31Speaker 1: off short caught. Drue Sample has a first down to
- 3:34Speaker 1: the ten, the face to the pie line. He's in touchdown.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Beautiful Bengals Drew Sample catching a short pass from Joe
- 3:45Speaker 3: Burrow and doing the rest on a twenty two yard TD.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Well he released late. He stayed in the block and
- 3:53Speaker 2: then he released late, and as a result, the Buffalo
- 3:56Speaker 2: Bills lost track of him.
- 3:57Speaker 1: First and ten at the twenty two percent Alan catches
- 4:01Speaker 1: looking left, throw us over the middle.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Caught by kick Aid loses the football scooped up by
- 4:07Speaker 3: the Bengals.
- 4:08Speaker 2: At the thirteen yard line. Hit the takeaway.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Nick Scott knocked it out and recovered it.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Bengals ball Now did the did the ground cause the fumble?
- 4:19Speaker 4: No?
- 4:20Speaker 2: The ball is out long before King Kaid comes to
- 4:23Speaker 2: the ground.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Three forty two to go, third down and one in
- 4:26Speaker 1: the red zone at the seventeen yard line. Alan has
- 4:29Speaker 1: the ball looking over the middle, fires toward the end zone.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Caught Stefan Diggs got behind DJ Turner and it's a
- 4:37Speaker 1: Buffalo touchdown with three thirty two to go. Joe Burrow
- 4:40Speaker 1: hands on hips, eyeballing the defense. Buffalo's showing pressure up
- 4:45Speaker 1: the middle. The Bengals handed to Mixon gets away from
- 4:48Speaker 1: an ankle tackle running toward the first down marker.
- 4:51Speaker 3: He's got it, wow and that his coffin.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Nails Bam Bam bam. And what he did was he
- 5:00Speaker 2: made von Miller miss one on one von Miller Joe Mixon,
- 5:04Speaker 2: he makes von Miller missed. What a play by Joe Mixon.
- 5:08Speaker 1: One more snap will do it. Once the clock is
- 5:11Speaker 1: inside of forty seconds to go, the Bengals can snap
- 5:13Speaker 1: the ball. They snap it with thirty eight seconds to go.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Burrow takes a knee and the coaches begin walking toward
- 5:20Speaker 1: the fifty yard line. Let the record show that in
- 5:24Speaker 1: the head to head competition between Joe Burrow and Josh Allen,
- 5:29Speaker 1: it is Burrow two, Allen nothing.
- 5:32Speaker 2: At the Bengals win.
- 5:34Speaker 1: They're fourth in a row, beating the Bills tonight by
- 5:37Speaker 1: the final score of twenty four to eighteen. Here are
- 5:42Speaker 1: some key stats from the win. Joe Burrow threw for
- 5:45Speaker 1: a season high three hundred and forty eight yards with
- 5:48Speaker 1: two touchdowns, no picks, and a passer rating of one
- 5:51Speaker 1: oh eight point nine. T Higgins was his favorite target
- 5:54Speaker 1: with eight catches for one hundred and ten yards unless
- 5:57Speaker 1: you consider the tight ends as a grit tanner. Hudson
- 6:01Speaker 1: Drew Sample and earth Smith Junior combined for ten catches
- 6:06Speaker 1: for one hundred and one yards and a pair of touchdowns.
- 6:09Speaker 1: The Bengals didn't get much out of the running game,
- 6:11Speaker 1: as Joe Mixon finished with thirty seven yards on fourteen carries.
- 6:15Speaker 1: That's just two point six per attempt, but he did
- 6:19Speaker 1: put the game away with a great five yard run
- 6:22Speaker 1: on third down and three with two minutes to go.
- 6:25Speaker 1: He spoke to Dave Lapham in the locker room.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Big run. Basically under the ballgame at that point with
- 6:33Speaker 2: that rush that you had, talk about it.
- 6:36Speaker 5: Yeah, man, they played pretty much double A gaps. They
- 6:39Speaker 5: tried us, you know, pretty much zero blitzies. It was literally, uh,
- 6:44Speaker 5: basically just me and Vaughn at that point.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I thought that.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Jonah sil you know, the edge well, you know, came
- 6:50Speaker 5: crashing down on a h I don't know.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I think it was a seventh I don't know.
- 6:54Speaker 5: I think there was a linebacker maybe, but you know,
- 6:57Speaker 5: I bounced out. It was me and Vaughn, you know,
- 6:59Speaker 5: cho give him a joke, made a miss and got
- 7:02Speaker 5: the first down. Wish I can go back and you know,
- 7:05Speaker 5: get out of bound or fall instead of going out
- 7:08Speaker 5: of bounds. But you know, we was able to get
- 7:11Speaker 5: it done, man, and that's how that mattered.
- 7:13Speaker 2: So you mentioned that they were running double a gap
- 7:15Speaker 2: on that snap. They did that a lot. Man. It
- 7:18Speaker 2: was like they felt like they had to crowd the
- 7:20Speaker 2: line of scrimmage and pressure you guys. And I thought
- 7:22Speaker 2: a big part of your game tonight was blitz pick up.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Man.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You were outstanding in blitz pick up.
- 7:27Speaker 5: Yeah, man, I thought that. You know, me and Trey
- 7:29Speaker 5: did a hell of a job. You know, I wish
- 7:31Speaker 5: I could go back on one and you know, technique wise
- 7:34Speaker 5: and you know, clean some things up. But for the
- 7:36Speaker 5: most part, I definitely felt like, you know, we honed
- 7:38Speaker 5: in and handle business and you know, got a few
- 7:41Speaker 5: pancakes and you know, pretty much was holding up firm
- 7:44Speaker 5: in the pocket.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Man.
- 7:46Speaker 5: So Joe was delivering dimes and everything was coming together.
- 7:49Speaker 5: So he's gotta keep building on that and keep going
- 7:52Speaker 5: getting better.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Joe, You're on a four game winning streak and you've
- 7:55Speaker 2: scored not only in the first drive in every single game,
- 7:58Speaker 2: but the second drive, your first two drives and all
- 8:01Speaker 2: four wins. You guys just score touchdowns. What what does
- 8:04Speaker 2: it mean to get off to a fast start like that?
- 8:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean pretty much over here, that's what we preach,
- 8:09Speaker 5: you know, start fast and finish faster when it comes
- 8:12Speaker 5: down to it, Man, I thought that the guys that
- 8:14Speaker 5: the hell of a job honing in on the game plan, crowd.
- 8:18Speaker 5: They played a great part of it, you know, with
- 8:20Speaker 5: the momentum and things like that.
- 8:21Speaker 2: But when it come down to.
- 8:22Speaker 5: It, we just got to keep building and keep capitalizing
- 8:25Speaker 5: on you know what teams give us. Like I said,
- 8:27Speaker 5: I feel like, you know what, the potential that we
- 8:29Speaker 5: got in this here locker room. We got the potential
- 8:32Speaker 5: to be the best and literally every stat you know
- 8:34Speaker 5: in football, from from offensive defense, and when it comes
- 8:38Speaker 5: down to it, we just got to keep on getting better,
- 8:40Speaker 5: honing in on a game plan and doing what we
- 8:43Speaker 5: gotta do. Keep stacking these wins, and they are, every
- 8:46Speaker 5: single one of them, getting bigger and bigger. We can
- 8:48Speaker 5: try our own destiny and we's got to come out
- 8:51Speaker 5: here and finish, you know, one week at a time
- 8:52Speaker 5: and hopefully, you know, see us come down the road.
- 8:55Speaker 2: And finally everybody said, oh, you know the tight ends.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I don't know the Bengals tight ends. Are they good enough?
- 9:00Speaker 2: Tight Ends played their asses off tonight. The tight end
- 9:02Speaker 2: position stepped up running backs, receivers, a bunch of receivers
- 9:06Speaker 2: made plays, you know, not just Jamar who made plays
- 9:08Speaker 2: himself as well, but that that passed to Tyler Boyd
- 9:11Speaker 2: on on your final drive. How big was that? Yeah?
- 9:14Speaker 5: I thought TV came a huge on that hell of
- 9:18Speaker 5: a play? Uh, how's the hell of a play? Paul Bozak.
- 9:22Speaker 5: You know, we pretty much executed, you know, all the way.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Around, all eleven of us.
- 9:27Speaker 5: And uh, when it comes down to it, when you're executing,
- 9:29Speaker 5: great things is gonna happen. And that's just what it is. Man.
- 9:32Speaker 5: But I'm excited.
- 9:33Speaker 2: About you know this, big dug.
- 9:35Speaker 5: We're going to celebrate today tonight and come tomorrow, you know, Uh,
- 9:40Speaker 5: get the kinks out, learn from the drawing boards, go
- 9:43Speaker 5: back to the drawing boards, and get ready for Houston. Man.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Defensively, Mike Hilton had ten solo tackles and the Bengals
- 9:51Speaker 1: won the turnover battle to nothing. Jermaine Pratt forced to
- 9:55Speaker 1: fumble that was recovered by Nick Scott and Cam Taylor.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Britt came away with his third interception in the last
- 10:02Speaker 1: four games. I caught up with Cam in front of
- 10:05Speaker 1: his locker. Two games for you against the Buffalo Bills.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Two picks off Josh Allen describe the one you had tonight.
- 10:13Speaker 3: It's so crazy.
- 10:15Speaker 2: It was the same defense and I baited him.
- 10:18Speaker 5: Man, I just gave him two steps downhill thinking I
- 10:21Speaker 5: was gonna go for the outing. We knew he's He's
- 10:23Speaker 5: a guy who trustes on more than you know, any
- 10:25Speaker 5: dB to ever touch the ball. So you know, I
- 10:28Speaker 5: just you know, use my athletic ability most definitely to
- 10:30Speaker 5: track the ball and go back and you know, play
- 10:31Speaker 5: the play enough bade ball.
- 10:33Speaker 2: You know he was gonna try to get.
- 10:34Speaker 5: The whole shot in which he always does. And you know,
- 10:36Speaker 5: we see no film film Gona Lie.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Gabe Davis didn't have a catch, Stefan Diggs didn't get
- 10:43Speaker 1: to one hundred yards. They've got some great weapons, and
- 10:45Speaker 1: by and large he shut them down pretty well.
- 10:47Speaker 5: To him, I'm supposed to have, you know, Just like that,
- 10:50Speaker 5: I feel like anybody would play, you know, and I'm
- 10:52Speaker 5: line up on them or DJ or Mike or Cheatah,
- 10:54Speaker 5: anybody on the back of him. I just feel like,
- 10:56Speaker 5: you know, we we we're so close and tight knit
- 10:59Speaker 5: right now. I don't feel a lot of people, you know,
- 11:01Speaker 5: running by us, you know, getting by us.
- 11:03Speaker 1: That was a huge play and obviously the force fumble
- 11:06Speaker 1: by Germain and the recovery by next Scot was huge
- 11:09Speaker 1: insight the ten. How significant did you feel that play was?
- 11:13Speaker 5: I think that was one of the mainsor you know,
- 11:16Speaker 5: turning points. I feel like we always are turning points
- 11:18Speaker 5: in our games, and you know, you could just you know,
- 11:19Speaker 5: pinpoint them. And I believe that was the one right there,
- 11:21Speaker 5: you know, going down to score and you know we
- 11:24Speaker 5: had to nut up to shut up basically, and you
- 11:26Speaker 5: know when it we always say yards are ecle points.
- 11:29Speaker 5: It's gonna come back to that always, you know.
- 11:30Speaker 1: And we hit a four straight wins, including back to
- 11:34Speaker 1: back wins over the forty nine Ers and Bills, two
- 11:36Speaker 1: of the best teams in the NFL. How do you
- 11:37Speaker 1: feel about the state of the Bengals right now?
- 11:40Speaker 5: It should be lit right now. We got a lot
- 11:42Speaker 5: of football to play though, so yeah, you know, you
- 11:43Speaker 5: could be lit right now. But Monday we back here.
- 11:46Speaker 1: What'd you think of the atmosphere tonight with the striping,
- 11:48Speaker 1: the jungle and the whole deal.
- 11:50Speaker 5: I think I can say it was lit now. It
- 11:53Speaker 5: was crazy, man. We and got some of the guys
- 11:55Speaker 5: are talking about it, you know, just MS Maris, But
- 11:57Speaker 5: you know the words in black, I color coordinated. It
- 11:59Speaker 5: would they read to take the time to do that, man,
- 12:01Speaker 5: and it so man, I think it was, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 5: intimidation thing. You know.
- 12:05Speaker 4: The game A great show.
- 12:06Speaker 5: Congrats, thank you so much.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So the Bengals have won four in a row. The
- 12:11Speaker 1: only team in the NFL with a longer current winning
- 12:13Speaker 1: streak is Jacksonville at five in a row. Now time
- 12:18Speaker 1: to hear from head coach Zach Taylor, who spent about
- 12:20Speaker 1: three and a half minutes with Lap after the game.
- 12:24Speaker 2: So, I gotta ask you about this four wins in
- 12:28Speaker 2: a row. You haven't scored on your first drive on
- 12:30Speaker 2: you just scored in your first two drives and all
- 12:32Speaker 2: four of those victories. I mean, how big is that?
- 12:35Speaker 6: It's big to get that momentum early in the game,
- 12:38Speaker 6: put pressure on the other team where they can feel
- 12:40Speaker 6: what type of game it's going to be. Oser, defensive,
- 12:42Speaker 6: tee off you know, when they've got that type of lead,
- 12:44Speaker 6: and it makes the game easier to call for our
- 12:47Speaker 6: guys and freeze it up, let us and be a
- 12:48Speaker 6: little more aggressive on offense.
- 12:50Speaker 2: So when you work so hard on your first few plays,
- 12:54Speaker 2: you know you have an idea what you might want
- 12:57Speaker 2: to call for your first two drives. When it works
- 12:59Speaker 2: out like that, how rewarding is that?
- 13:01Speaker 6: For rewarding, you know, and our guys they understand what's
- 13:04Speaker 6: coming at him. Those are things that we walked through
- 13:06Speaker 6: and talk about great, great detail, so they can preview
- 13:09Speaker 6: it really the night before and they come out and
- 13:11Speaker 6: they do a great job executing it.
- 13:13Speaker 2: You much maligned tight end position was large today.
- 13:16Speaker 6: They were awesome, you know, and all those guys contributed.
- 13:19Speaker 6: James Casey does a great job getting that room ready
- 13:21Speaker 6: and answering the bell when their numbers called, and then
- 13:24Speaker 6: they all did that today.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Joe didn't even target Jamar Chase until this thirteenth pass
- 13:29Speaker 2: attempt of the day. Was that my design? Or was
- 13:32Speaker 2: it they were just taking Jamarrow away? Or did you
- 13:34Speaker 2: really want to get others involved because you knew what
- 13:36Speaker 2: Jamar was going to do.
- 13:37Speaker 6: No, there were things where he was the primary, you know,
- 13:39Speaker 6: and the type of coverage dictated the ball had to
- 13:42Speaker 6: go away from him. And so the credit to them.
- 13:44Speaker 6: They did the good job. They keep you all balanced.
- 13:46Speaker 6: They throw a lot of different things at you. They'll
- 13:47Speaker 6: pressure you, and they're not afraid to contest you. So
- 13:50Speaker 6: it was difficult to predict where the ball was going
- 13:53Speaker 6: to go. You just kept calling it and jo just
- 13:54Speaker 6: finding the open receiver.
- 13:56Speaker 2: They blitzed a ton. I mean that double A gap.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Seemed like every snap they were lining up in the
- 14:00Speaker 2: double A gap and sometimes coming with everybody and sometimes
- 14:03Speaker 2: not put Was it a higher percentage than normal or
- 14:05Speaker 2: is that the way they played it all year?
- 14:06Speaker 6: They pressure you, you know, they're not afraid to do it.
- 14:09Speaker 6: And so again our guys were ready for a lot
- 14:11Speaker 6: of the different looks that we were going to get.
- 14:13Speaker 6: They do a great job changing it up, and so
- 14:14Speaker 6: you just got to stay in your toes.
- 14:15Speaker 2: The whole game. Joe Mixon talk about how big a
- 14:17Speaker 2: factor he was today.
- 14:18Speaker 6: That was the way he finished that out was big time,
- 14:20Speaker 6: you know, and he had some harder and run. It
- 14:22Speaker 6: was never easy. So in four minute drill, you know,
- 14:25Speaker 6: you can't block them all. It's cover zero, it's the
- 14:27Speaker 6: last play of the game. And for him to find
- 14:29Speaker 6: a way to make that last guy miss get that
- 14:31Speaker 6: first down was enormous.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I thought, well, you know, maybe the alongside kick. I
- 14:34Speaker 2: don't know. I mean, because Joe Burrow the way he's playing,
- 14:37Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe if they kick it to the Bengals,
- 14:40Speaker 2: just take a knee and the in the game. That's
- 14:42Speaker 2: the way it turned out. That throw to Tyler Boyd
- 14:44Speaker 2: though unbelievable call by you, Tyler Boyd executed it. Talk
- 14:48Speaker 2: about that play.
- 14:49Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a player guys believe in, you know, and
- 14:52Speaker 6: you really don't want to start with the first and
- 14:54Speaker 6: ten run that gets, you know, yards, because that's what
- 14:55Speaker 6: they're anticipating. So you wanted to put yourself ahead of
- 14:58Speaker 6: the sticks and let our guys you know, finished off
- 15:00Speaker 6: from there. And so again great protection, great throw, great
- 15:03Speaker 6: route by TV.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And so it's good to see you played a clean
- 15:06Speaker 2: game last week. No penalties on the offense, clean game
- 15:10Speaker 2: this week, no gifts, no giveaways, two takeaways plus two.
- 15:14Speaker 2: It's big.
- 15:15Speaker 6: The turnover battle is huge in games versus really good
- 15:18Speaker 6: opponents like this. You got to find a way to
- 15:20Speaker 6: win it, you know, and plus two usually guarantees your victory.
- 15:23Speaker 6: And so that was good to see that our guys
- 15:24Speaker 6: been just that way.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Today uncharacteristically, and it had to be frustrating to you.
- 15:28Speaker 2: The stretch of penalties and down this the end of
- 15:31Speaker 2: the second quarter had to be frustrating for you.
- 15:34Speaker 6: It was tough. You know, there was two of them,
- 15:35Speaker 6: one of one of them. Will have to watch and
- 15:37Speaker 6: see again, you know, on the scramble. But you know
- 15:40Speaker 6: there's some things that we got to I got to
- 15:41Speaker 6: get the call on better so that we can have
- 15:42Speaker 6: some urgency, get into the line at the ball snapped
- 15:44Speaker 6: and help our guys out.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Coach, appreciate it. You got your team playing really hard.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Joe Burrow's back. There's no doubt about that. I mean,
- 15:53Speaker 2: everybody around the league is looking to say, uh oh,
- 15:56Speaker 2: Bengals are back. Bengals are back, no question about it.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Thanks Coach, Thank you.

- 16:18Speaker 1: is the official healthcare provider of the Bengals. Now time
- 16:23Speaker 1: for the radio guys recap that before the trade deadline,
- 16:27Speaker 1: a lot of folks were speculating that the Bengals would
- 16:30Speaker 1: try to add a tight end to the room. They didn't.
- 16:32Speaker 1: They did promote Tanner Hudson from the practice squad to
- 16:36Speaker 1: the fifty three man roster. Well, at least tonight they
- 16:38Speaker 1: didn't need any other tight ends. Drew Sample had a touchdown.
- 16:42Speaker 1: IRV Smith had a touchdown. Tanner Hudson had four catches
- 16:45Speaker 1: for forty five yards. They got great production out of
- 16:48Speaker 1: that position.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yeah, they really did. It was good to see on
- 16:53Speaker 2: a national stage to boot you know. I mean, I
- 16:55Speaker 2: think it takes a lot of pressure off off of
- 16:58Speaker 2: the players that position group, and they work hard. Their
- 17:02Speaker 2: coach works hard. He gets them ready. They're absolutely on
- 17:08Speaker 2: point with respect to assignments, not making mistakes, not doing
- 17:12Speaker 2: anything to hurt, you know, the football team from a
- 17:14Speaker 2: negative standpoint. And today they stepped up and made plays.
- 17:17Speaker 2: And I thought it was interesting that Jamar Chase was
- 17:20Speaker 2: not targeted by Joe Burrow until the thirteenth pass attempt
- 17:23Speaker 2: of the day. And I asked Zach about it and
- 17:26Speaker 2: he said, well, he was the primary in some cases,
- 17:28Speaker 2: you know, wasn't there. They were bracketing him and doing
- 17:32Speaker 2: different things to him, rolling coverage, clouding and all that,
- 17:35Speaker 2: so they went elsewhere. But other times it was designed
- 17:38Speaker 2: to go to other people, and t Higgins as a result,
- 17:41Speaker 2: stepped up and had a game nine targets, eight catch,
- 17:44Speaker 2: one hundred and ten yards. I mean it was big Hudson,
- 17:48Speaker 2: like you said, four catches for forty five yards. He
- 17:51Speaker 2: was targeted five times. Tyler Boyd had that huge catch.
- 17:55Speaker 2: That thirty two yard catch basically stealed the game. Made
- 17:58Speaker 2: that four minute drill or three minute and whatever second
- 18:00Speaker 2: drill heck of a lot easier when they picked up
- 18:03Speaker 2: three first downs on that on that one drive. It
- 18:06Speaker 2: was a great call by Zach and a great road
- 18:08Speaker 2: run by Tyler Boyd.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Let's go back to the beginning of the game. They
- 18:11Speaker 1: score on their opening drive. Four straight games of the
- 18:13Speaker 1: touchdown on the opening drive, and then they followed up
- 18:16Speaker 1: with another touchdown. Third straight game that they've done that,
- 18:19Speaker 1: and going back four games, they had a field goal
- 18:22Speaker 1: on their second drive. So four straight games where they
- 18:25Speaker 1: score points on their first two drives. I don't ever
- 18:27Speaker 1: remember that happening before.
- 18:29Speaker 2: That's that's unbelievably impressive, and it just takes such a
- 18:33Speaker 2: load off the defense. I mean, you know, when when
- 18:35Speaker 2: the offense is playing like that, it it makes uh,
- 18:39Speaker 2: doctor Lou's scheme addicts even even more difficult. I think
- 18:44Speaker 2: it gives him so much freedom. He can do a
- 18:47Speaker 2: lot of different things. And it's it's, it's, it is,
- 18:51Speaker 2: it's it's extremely impressive the start that they get off to,
- 18:54Speaker 2: and it's going to be unbelievably rewarding for Zach that
- 18:57Speaker 2: you work all week on, you know, on a script
- 18:59Speaker 2: and things you might like to put it in there
- 19:01Speaker 2: in the first couple of drives of the football game,
- 19:03Speaker 2: and then for them to come to Fortion that well,
- 19:06Speaker 2: there's nothing better than that when you're put in all
- 19:09Speaker 2: that work, all those hours, and it pays off, and
- 19:12Speaker 2: it pays off big time.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Defensively, the Bengals get a couple of huge takeaways. The
- 19:17Speaker 1: first one was Cam Taylor Britt with the interception off
- 19:19Speaker 1: Josh Allen three picks in his last four games. Also
- 19:23Speaker 1: had one in the playoff game last year in Buffalo.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Am I being way premature to think that Cam Taylor
- 19:29Speaker 1: Britt is the top corner on this team and one
- 19:32Speaker 1: of the better young corners in the league.
- 19:34Speaker 2: I think he's I think he's making a move in
- 19:38Speaker 2: that area. I think he feels like he is, and
- 19:41Speaker 2: that's what you have to have. You have to have
- 19:42Speaker 2: that kind of confidence, You have to have that kind
- 19:45Speaker 2: of belief that you can make that sort of contribution
- 19:47Speaker 2: for your football team. He's a physical guy, and he
- 19:50Speaker 2: brings the emotion, the enthusiasm, and he bothers receivers. He
- 19:56Speaker 2: gets in their heads. There's no question about it. He's
- 19:59Speaker 2: an impact player. I think that sometimes he followed Diggs,
- 20:05Speaker 2: you know, he was the guy and he was going
- 20:07Speaker 2: wherever Digs went. Other times they rolled coverage and clouded
- 20:10Speaker 2: toward Digs. They changed up what they did to him,
- 20:14Speaker 2: just like the Buffalo Bills changed up what they did
- 20:16Speaker 2: to Jamar Chase. They're both since twenty twenty two started,
- 20:21Speaker 2: both of those guys from the top five and receiving
- 20:23Speaker 2: yards in the entire league. So you're going to do
- 20:25Speaker 2: things like that to try to curtail their contributions. But
- 20:31Speaker 2: that's when other guys have to step up.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Second takeaway great teamwork between Nick Scott and Jermaine Pratt.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Nick makes the jarring hit to send Dalton Kincaid head
- 20:40Speaker 1: over heels, and as he's upside down and coming to
- 20:43Speaker 1: the ground, Jermaine, who's always obsessed with coming away with
- 20:46Speaker 1: the ball, punches it out and leads to the fumble recovery.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I think probably the biggest reason the game ended
- 20:52Speaker 2: up the way it did is they were plus two
- 20:54Speaker 2: and that gave them an opportunity to hold onto the football,
- 20:59Speaker 2: run more snaps, burn more clock. I mean, they almost
- 21:02Speaker 2: had the ball for a full quarter more than the
- 21:05Speaker 2: Buffalo Bills did thirty six minutes and thirty eight seconds
- 21:08Speaker 2: to twenty three twenty two. I mean, thirteen minutes in
- 21:12Speaker 2: sixteen seconds. That's pretty impressive against the team. The caliber
- 21:16Speaker 2: of the Bills and the turnovers had had something to
- 21:18Speaker 2: do with that. And they also dictated field position. The
- 21:21Speaker 2: Bengals won the field position battle, the average drives battle
- 21:24Speaker 2: by quite a bit in this football game as well,
- 21:27Speaker 2: So you know things like that that contribute, you know,
- 21:30Speaker 2: overall to the victory. Team has to go long field
- 21:34Speaker 2: while you're going short field. You know, you're eating clock up.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Now there's more pressure on them to try to make
- 21:40Speaker 2: bigger plays because there's less time on the clock and
- 21:43Speaker 2: you're still trailing by two scores, and that puts a
- 21:45Speaker 2: lot of pressure on the offense and it frees up
- 21:47Speaker 2: your defense. So they're starting to do a lot of things,
- 21:51Speaker 2: you know, really well in that regard. Last week, the
- 21:53Speaker 2: Bengals offense was penalty free and they had got a
- 21:56Speaker 2: big winn in the road against the forty nine Ers.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Tonight they would turnover free against a really good team,
- 22:02Speaker 2: you know who'll probably be in the playoffs and trying
- 22:06Speaker 2: to make it run in the playoffs like they have
- 22:08Speaker 2: every year, and not turning the football over and getting
- 22:10Speaker 2: two of them being plus two, it's probably as huge
- 22:13Speaker 2: a factor in the win as anything.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I guess if there are a couple of negatives tonight,
- 22:17Speaker 1: the running game wasn't very good, and they did have
- 22:19Speaker 1: far more penalties than usual they did.
- 22:22Speaker 2: They had a stretch there or on into the second quarter.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Three straight penalties just took them out of a scoring opportunity.
- 22:31Speaker 2: They left meat on the bone. There's no doubt about it.
- 22:34Speaker 2: They could have they could have hung thirty on them easily,
- 22:38Speaker 2: maybe into the mid thirties if they had finished everything,
- 22:40Speaker 2: every opportunity that they had. But they finished enough of
- 22:44Speaker 2: them to win the football game for sure. And you know,
- 22:48Speaker 2: here's a situation now where two straight games against the
- 22:52Speaker 2: forty nine Ers and the Bills, two of the better
- 22:54Speaker 2: teams in the NFL, and to never trail. You haven't
- 22:58Speaker 2: trailed in eight quarters against those two teams. That means
- 23:02Speaker 2: you're starting to play some pretty decent ball.
- 23:04Speaker 1: The game's kind of weird in the sense that they
- 23:06Speaker 1: won by six. There was some tension at the end,
- 23:09Speaker 1: and yet I never felt like there was a chance
- 23:12Speaker 1: they were going to lose the game, Am I not? No?
- 23:14Speaker 2: I don't think so. I felt the same way. You know.
- 23:16Speaker 2: It's like as if you keep that two score lead,
- 23:20Speaker 2: you know, until there's like eight minutes or so to
- 23:23Speaker 2: go in the game, you think, I just don't see
- 23:25Speaker 2: a team the caliber of this team, you know, blowing
- 23:28Speaker 2: this thing. And I walked by Joe, I'm like, you know, man,
- 23:33Speaker 2: when they gave you that gave you that opportunity to
- 23:36Speaker 2: close it out with three minutes and change to go,
- 23:39Speaker 2: I said, I don't know if i'd kick it to
- 23:41Speaker 2: you know, kick off and let Joe Burrow take control
- 23:43Speaker 2: of that football and you and Tyler Boyd stepped up
- 23:45Speaker 2: and he goes closed it out. Close it out, man,
- 23:48Speaker 2: That's what it's all about. There's nothing better than kneeling down,
- 23:53Speaker 2: taking the knee to win the football game. When you
- 23:55Speaker 2: can do that, a couple of snaps at the end
- 23:58Speaker 2: of the game.
- 23:58Speaker 1: When you get the ball back with three and a
- 24:00Speaker 1: half minutes to go and the other teams down by
- 24:02Speaker 1: six and they never get the ball back, that's got
- 24:05Speaker 1: to be a tremendously satisfying feeling.
- 24:07Speaker 2: No question. I mean that four minute drills in those
- 24:09Speaker 2: situations are hard to run. But when you make a play,
- 24:13Speaker 2: when you pick up over three first downs in one play,
- 24:17Speaker 2: now it's all of a sudden that four minute drill
- 24:19Speaker 2: has become much easier. I mean, you flipped field position,
- 24:23Speaker 2: you picked up the third of a football field on
- 24:25Speaker 2: one snap. That's that dog will hunt right there.
- 24:29Speaker 1: All right, four straight, five out of six. The Houston
- 24:32Speaker 1: Texans coming up next with a rookie quarterback who put
- 24:35Speaker 1: on a show. Four hundred and seventy yards and five
- 24:37Speaker 1: touchdown passes for CJ.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Stride today. It's amazing. You know, I'm watching that game
- 24:42Speaker 2: a little bit, and his throwing motion is so compact,
- 24:45Speaker 2: it's so short, and I mean he stays in a
- 24:49Speaker 2: tight pocket. I mean he's a fearless kid, and he's
- 24:53Speaker 2: very accurate with the football obviously, and they're no joke.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I mean he's he's on a stretch He went into
- 25:00Speaker 2: the game with just one interception on the season. I
- 25:03Speaker 2: don't think he threw any today. I mean five touchdown passes,
- 25:07Speaker 2: no picks. This guy's putting together some numbers that are crazy.
- 25:12Speaker 2: You're looking at the offensive rookie of the year. It
- 25:14Speaker 2: looks like in the National Football.
- 25:15Speaker 1: League game winning touchdown pass with six seconds to go
- 25:18Speaker 1: after Baker Mayfield ha thrown me when to take the
- 25:21Speaker 1: lead with forty six seconds to go. That's incredible.
- 25:23Speaker 2: It is no timeouts. I think it was four plays,
- 25:26Speaker 2: four throws, the one to the sideline, the deep ball
- 25:29Speaker 2: of the sideline where his receiver, you know, drag, the drag,
- 25:33Speaker 2: the left toe, And I'm thinking, how can you give
- 25:36Speaker 2: up that play? They have no timeouts. How can you
- 25:38Speaker 2: not funnel action back to the middle. Why would you
- 25:41Speaker 2: give up the sideline play like that? But he threw
- 25:44Speaker 2: a very accurate football and took advantage of a very
- 25:48Speaker 2: very tight window.
- 25:49Speaker 1: It's good to be two games over five hundred, it
- 25:51Speaker 1: really is.
- 25:52Speaker 2: How about the asc North, everybody's two games over five hundred,
- 25:56Speaker 2: you said earlier, if the playoffs were to start tomorrow,
- 25:58Speaker 2: everybody be in right.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Yes, I believe so. I think Cincinnati vaults ahead of
- 26:02Speaker 1: Buffalo on the a totem pole, and that I'll double check,
- 26:06Speaker 1: but I'm pretty sure that as of right now, of
- 26:08Speaker 1: these seven teams that would make the playoffs in the AFC,
- 26:11Speaker 1: you've got all four of the AFC North teams.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Everybody in the AFC North at least two games over
- 26:15Speaker 2: five hundred. That is well done by the division. Some
- 26:18Speaker 2: of a gun they swept this weekend, swept the action unbelievable.
- 26:24Speaker 1: After double checking, I was correct. The four division leaders
- 26:28Speaker 1: in the AFC right now are Kansas City, Baltimore, Jacksonville,
- 26:32Speaker 1: and Miami, and the three wild card teams are Pittsburgh, Cleveland,
- 26:38Speaker 1: and Cincinnati. There's obviously a long way to go. Cleveland
- 26:43Speaker 1: and Baltimore face each other in Baltimore next week, and
- 26:46Speaker 1: Pittsburgh has a home game against the three and five Packers.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Now time for this week's fun fact segment, where you
- 26:54Speaker 1: get to know the person under the pads. Time for
- 26:58Speaker 1: some fun facts with offensive lineman Cody Ford from Pineville, Louisiana,
- 27:04Speaker 1: a small town in the central part of the state.
- 27:07Speaker 1: As you enter Pineville, there's a big sign that says
- 27:10Speaker 1: a great place to call home. What do you love
- 27:14Speaker 1: about your hometown.
- 27:15Speaker 4: The closeness of the community, the willingness to be there
- 27:22Speaker 4: for your neighbor that's not family, I would say, just
- 27:26Speaker 4: the environment alone, and then ultimately, just like I said,
- 27:31Speaker 4: the people in the city and in the community. And
- 27:34Speaker 4: I think the sign is accurate. It's a great place
- 27:36Speaker 4: to call home. I love being from Pineville, Louisiana.
- 27:39Speaker 1: You went home during the Bengals bye week to have
- 27:42Speaker 1: your number seventy four jersey retired at your high school.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Can you describe what that meant?
- 27:47Speaker 4: A dream come true? I remember I was talking to
- 27:50Speaker 4: my girlfriend before we went down there, and I was like,
- 27:53Speaker 4: there's only one jersey in the facility that I used
- 27:56Speaker 4: to walk in every day that was retired. And I
- 27:59Speaker 4: used to look at it every day and be like,
- 28:01Speaker 4: why not me? And then also looked at it as
- 28:04Speaker 4: you know, more motivation and inspiration for myself to, you know,
- 28:08Speaker 4: shrive to be better and take take this football the
- 28:13Speaker 4: sports serious and see where it can take me.
- 28:16Speaker 1: We're visiting with Cody Ford. You're a big band, the
- 28:19Speaker 1: six three, about three hundred and thirty pounds. Were you
- 28:21Speaker 1: always the big kid in the neighborhood?
- 28:23Speaker 4: No, maybe one of the taller kids, But I didn't
- 28:28Speaker 4: surpass two hundred and forty pounds until I would say
- 28:33Speaker 4: junior year of high school, and then kind of hit
- 28:36Speaker 4: a little spark. Junior year, I gained about twenty thirty pounds,
- 28:41Speaker 4: got to two seventy, and then the next year I
- 28:45Speaker 4: was the biggest kid in school.
- 28:48Speaker 1: When it came time to go to college, you traveled
- 28:51Speaker 1: about seven hours from home to go to the University
- 28:53Speaker 1: of Oklahoma. You became an All American there. In your
- 28:57Speaker 1: two full seasons as a starter, the team went to
- 29:00Speaker 1: the College Football Playoff both times. Your quarterback won the
- 29:04Speaker 1: Heisman both times, Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. What did
- 29:08Speaker 1: you enjoy most about playing at Oklahoma?
- 29:11Speaker 4: The locker room, The guys in the locker room, especially
- 29:14Speaker 4: the O line room.
- 29:15Speaker 2: We u.
- 29:16Speaker 4: I mean there's guys that don't play in the league today,
- 29:21Speaker 4: some that didn't even get a chance to play in
- 29:22Speaker 4: the league, and I think we talk every day. The
- 29:26Speaker 4: brotherhood that we built there is just bar nine. I
- 29:29Speaker 4: don't think. I mean a lot of guys speak highly
- 29:32Speaker 4: of their locker rooms, but I know me and the
- 29:35Speaker 4: guys in the O line room and other positions as well,
- 29:39Speaker 4: put great pride in the you know, being a tight
- 29:41Speaker 4: knit group and that's what we lived by. And then
- 29:44Speaker 4: ultimately going to Oklahoma, like just being a part of
- 29:47Speaker 4: such a prestigious program that was that was a big,
- 29:51Speaker 4: you know, bonus in itself.
- 29:54Speaker 1: You had a great career. You also earned your degree
- 29:56Speaker 1: in three and a half years. Where academics always important
- 29:59Speaker 1: to you.
- 30:01Speaker 4: I'll just be honest, I wouldn't say important. It wasn't
- 30:04Speaker 4: the top of my list. I know it was the
- 30:06Speaker 4: top of my parents and my grandparents list. But once
- 30:11Speaker 4: I got there, I had my career. And then when
- 30:15Speaker 4: it was time for my last season of football, I said, well,
- 30:19Speaker 4: I'm not leaving until I get my degree. So I
- 30:21Speaker 4: pushed myself to have my degree by the time the
- 30:24Speaker 4: season ended. So you know, I took I want to say,
- 30:28Speaker 4: six to eight extra hours of class that semester on
- 30:32Speaker 4: top of it being my last semester of football and
- 30:35Speaker 4: I had a big, busy schedule, but I took it
- 30:38Speaker 4: more serious probably my last two years of college. I
- 30:41Speaker 4: was like, I have to get my degree. I think
- 30:44Speaker 4: came too far not to leave with my degree.
- 30:47Speaker 1: We're chatting with Cody Ford. You were selected early in
- 30:49Speaker 1: the second round of the twenty nineteen draft by the
- 30:52Speaker 1: Buffalo Bills. Describe your draft experience.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Long, exhausting, exciting, humbling experience, But I don't know. It
- 31:04Speaker 4: was a great, great experience, great memory, great moment, and
- 31:09Speaker 4: you know, everything I had done up until that point
- 31:12Speaker 4: was it was all paid paid off. And the first
- 31:17Speaker 4: night being in the draft room expecting my name, hoping
- 31:21Speaker 4: my name to be called that night and then it
- 31:23Speaker 4: not happened was probably the most humbling piece of my
- 31:29Speaker 4: career up at that point. That was a long day.
- 31:32Speaker 4: And then the next night to have my name called
- 31:34Speaker 4: that early was really fun, really really enjoyable.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I grew up a little bit south of Buffalo, so
- 31:42Speaker 1: I know all about the weather. Since you're from Louisiana.
- 31:45Speaker 1: With the heat and humidity, how did you find the
- 31:47Speaker 1: snow in western New York?
- 31:50Speaker 4: Not friendly? I remember the first time it snowed, I
- 31:54Speaker 4: didn't have a shovel, I didn't have a brush for
- 31:57Speaker 4: my car. I didn't have a heavy coat, which I
- 32:00Speaker 4: should have been prepared for. But I remember I opened
- 32:04Speaker 4: my door and the snow was probably about three inches
- 32:07Speaker 4: above the base of the floor, and I was like,
- 32:11Speaker 4: holy you know that was That was insane id never
- 32:15Speaker 4: I've never seen snow before that, So yeah, it wasn't friendly.
- 32:20Speaker 1: This past offseason, you became a free agent for the
- 32:22Speaker 1: first time, and you reached out to your former Oklahoma teammate,
- 32:26Speaker 1: Orlando Brown Junior with an idea before the start of
- 32:29Speaker 1: free agency. Explain what happened.
- 32:32Speaker 4: I knew he was going to be up. I knew
- 32:34Speaker 4: there was going to be a lot of teams that
- 32:36Speaker 4: wanted him, and I knew that him being the guy
- 32:39Speaker 4: he is, he wants to go to a winning program,
- 32:43Speaker 4: a great program and play for you know, guys or
- 32:48Speaker 4: played with guys that you know have the same motivation
- 32:51Speaker 4: and same mindsets as him. And being on the outside
- 32:54Speaker 4: looking in, I've always looked at Cincinnati as that. I
- 32:58Speaker 4: told him early on. I was like, man, let's go
- 33:01Speaker 4: to Cincinnati, because I mean, at the time, it wasn't
- 33:04Speaker 4: a shot at anyone here. I myself wanted to be
- 33:08Speaker 4: a part of this organization. I wanted to be on
- 33:12Speaker 4: this team. And I sent him a text. I was like,
- 33:14Speaker 4: let's go to Cincinnati, And next thing you know, he
- 33:17Speaker 4: signed the day of my visit or the day before
- 33:20Speaker 4: my visit, and then I signed the next day.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Describe your friendship with Orlando.
- 33:26Speaker 4: I would consider him more than a friend. He's like
- 33:29Speaker 4: a big brother than me. From the first week I
- 33:33Speaker 4: stepped on the campus at Oklahoma, he was all the
- 33:37Speaker 4: little things, from two big things. He was like, this
- 33:40Speaker 4: is how we practice, This is what coach expects from you.
- 33:43Speaker 4: This is what the team expects from you. And then
- 33:46Speaker 4: you know, he was like, this is this is where
- 33:48Speaker 4: we eat at, this is do you want good food?
- 33:51Speaker 4: This is where you go in. And then he's like
- 33:53Speaker 4: this where you can get your haircut at. This is
- 33:55Speaker 4: like all the from little to the smallest to the biggest.
- 33:58Speaker 4: He from week one, you know, he kind of took
- 34:00Speaker 4: me under. And you know, he like portrayed itself as
- 34:04Speaker 4: a mentor to us younger kids, and he portrayed itself
- 34:09Speaker 4: as a as a leader. And then he also lived
- 34:12Speaker 4: through through those everything and we assumed of him. He
- 34:16Speaker 4: he lived up to it.
- 34:17Speaker 1: We're doing fun facts with Cody Ford. You post on
- 34:20Speaker 1: Instagram from time to time, and most of your posts
- 34:23Speaker 1: include the hashtag our ip Papa, which is a tribute
- 34:28Speaker 1: to your late grandfather. Tell us about him and your relationship.
- 34:32Speaker 4: Me and him, we were best friends growing up until
- 34:36Speaker 4: literally until the day I left for college. There's a
- 34:40Speaker 4: point in my life where me and my mom had
- 34:42Speaker 4: to go live with my grandparents for some time, and
- 34:46Speaker 4: I think that's when we really kind of bonded together.
- 34:50Speaker 4: And I think that's when I really started to look
- 34:52Speaker 4: at him as not just a grandfather, but a friend,
- 34:58Speaker 4: a male a male figure in my life that I
- 35:00Speaker 4: want to represent and strive to be, and as a father, husband,
- 35:06Speaker 4: even as a neighbor. I used to tell not used to,
- 35:10Speaker 4: but I tell my girlfriend all the time, like, my
- 35:12Speaker 4: grandfather was community rich because I could walk into any
- 35:15Speaker 4: grocery store, any sporting of it, and they always be like, Oh,
- 35:18Speaker 4: you're any Rabbelaye's grandson. And that always made me feel good,
- 35:23Speaker 4: knowing that people knew where I came from and the
- 35:27Speaker 4: values that were instilled in me, and the morals and
- 35:30Speaker 4: things like that that I knew. I had a choice
- 35:33Speaker 4: to follow or not follow, and I always chose the following.
- 35:36Speaker 1: So you just referenced your girlfriend Tianna on cutdown Day,
- 35:41Speaker 1: many of us were introduced to her. She has more
- 35:44Speaker 1: than one hundred thousand followers on TikTok. She posts some
- 35:47Speaker 1: very entertaining videos and she posted one on cutdown day
- 35:50Speaker 1: where the two of you are in a car as
- 35:52Speaker 1: the clock hits four o'clock and at that point you
- 35:57Speaker 1: know you have officially made the Bengals roster. It was
- 36:00Speaker 1: really touching. What did you think of that?
- 36:03Speaker 2: That one?
- 36:04Speaker 4: That's That's another another humbling experience I've had with my
- 36:08Speaker 4: time in the league, because being that I'm going into
- 36:11Speaker 4: my fifth year, I've seen people who you would expect
- 36:15Speaker 4: to make the team get cut, and I've seen people
- 36:17Speaker 4: that you wouldn't expect to make the team get make
- 36:20Speaker 4: the team. And you know, just with the late concussion
- 36:25Speaker 4: that I had not putting any film on the in
- 36:28Speaker 4: the last preseason game that day, and that last hour
- 36:33Speaker 4: or so was very stressful. I had never been in
- 36:37Speaker 4: that position before, as eye opening as it was. I've
- 36:44Speaker 4: always been on the verge of, well, you never know
- 36:46Speaker 4: what can happen. You can always get cut, but that
- 36:48Speaker 4: that was the first time where I've been like, no,
- 36:51Speaker 4: like I don't know if I made this team. But
- 36:54Speaker 4: at the same time, you know, I had enough confidence
- 36:56Speaker 4: in myself and enough confidence in what I had done
- 36:59Speaker 4: so far that I knew I had a good shot,
- 37:03Speaker 4: and I took advantage of every opportunity, and I put
- 37:06Speaker 4: everything out there, and as the time kept going down,
- 37:13Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't have anything. I don't have a call,
- 37:16Speaker 4: don't have a text, And she's like, well, did you
- 37:20Speaker 4: check your other phone? And I was like, no, I haven't.
- 37:24Speaker 4: I didn't want to check it, but I knew I
- 37:26Speaker 4: had to check it, so then I checked it and
- 37:27Speaker 4: nothing was there. And then the clock hit four o'clock
- 37:31Speaker 4: and then church bells rang and we knew we had
- 37:33Speaker 4: made it.
- 37:33Speaker 1: They literally rang in the background, which was amazing. After
- 37:37Speaker 1: seeing that video, I've looked at a few of her
- 37:39Speaker 1: other TikTok videos. She's bubbling with enthusiasm, while you typically
- 37:44Speaker 1: played the straight man and often looked mildly annoyed. Are
- 37:49Speaker 1: you in character or is that real?
- 37:51Speaker 2: Both?
- 37:52Speaker 4: The annoyance is just a show. And I told her
- 37:56Speaker 4: that and then like, we folso a positivideo about that,
- 38:00Speaker 4: and she knows, Like the beauty of it is that
- 38:03Speaker 4: she knows what's real and not real as far as
- 38:06Speaker 4: how I act on camera. She also knows that I
- 38:08Speaker 4: hate the camera, so she she she expects it sometimes
- 38:12Speaker 4: and uh, she's aware of it. But at the same time,
- 38:16Speaker 4: we I started to kind of enjoy it. And then
- 38:19Speaker 4: there's just those true moments where like, I really don't
- 38:22Speaker 4: want to be on camera right now, uh, because I've
- 38:26Speaker 4: always just been like the nonchalant, like keep everything low
- 38:32Speaker 4: profile whatever. But you know, I've as much as she's
- 38:37Speaker 4: into into that, not saying she's like a spotlight person,
- 38:40Speaker 4: but as much as she's like into the recording everything
- 38:43Speaker 4: and stuff like that, she's learned to adjust to me
- 38:46Speaker 4: not wanting to be on camera as much as well.
- 38:48Speaker 4: So when I'm annoy it on there, it's just a
- 38:52Speaker 4: little show.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Well, she is a talented content creator. You play a
- 38:56Speaker 1: very good straight man. What do you like to splur.
- 38:59Speaker 4: John unnecessary things? Clothes, shoes, bags, more so just because
- 39:07Speaker 4: I didn't grow up with the finer things. Now that
- 39:11Speaker 4: I have the opportunity to afford it responsibly, I do
- 39:17Speaker 4: have my moments while I go splurged. But I was
- 39:20Speaker 4: just those three things kind of And then House of
- 39:23Speaker 4: Decord is kind of my big thing too, like will
- 39:26Speaker 4: art comfy seatings like bean bags, chairs, and then probably
- 39:32Speaker 4: my gaming system is what I splurge on quite a
- 39:34Speaker 4: bit as well.
- 39:35Speaker 1: All Right, final fun fact for Cody Ford, and this
- 39:38Speaker 1: one is kind of deep. If you could meet anybody
- 39:42Speaker 1: in history, living or deceased, athlete, entertainer, statesman, who would
- 39:49Speaker 1: that person be.
- 39:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna have to say Michael Jackson. No, no, I'm
- 39:53Speaker 4: switching at Bernie Mac. I love Bernie Mac. I think
- 39:57Speaker 4: he's the greatest comedian of all time. And he's also
- 40:02Speaker 4: one of the smartest, smartest men. You know, with his
- 40:07Speaker 4: quotes and stuff and just the way he lived his life,
- 40:12Speaker 4: you could tell you he was you know, he knew
- 40:15Speaker 4: he was that guy, and that's the way he lived.
- 40:17Speaker 4: But yeah, I wish I could meet him and just
- 40:20Speaker 4: sit in the room and laugh all day. That would
- 40:22Speaker 4: be my.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Guy, Cody. This has been fun. It's great to have
- 40:25Speaker 1: you in Cincinnati. I appreciate your time and best of
