- 0:00Did you know that three and five people dump their partner just because of political
- 0:04beliefs. That's crazy to me. For me, yes, you it's more
- 0:09of a if somebody is so wrapped up into it, like we have kids,
- 0:13and so for me, how we parent is definitely gonna be like the
- 0:16number one thing. Yeah, you know what I mean. But there are
- 0:19certain people who it's just it's a deal breaker. It depends on how into
- 0:23it you are. If it's like bleeding over into your personality. If like
- 0:27how you are as a person is directly reflective of your political beliefs, I
- 0:32probably won't like you, you know, one way or the other. I
- 0:34mean, that's just how it is. But yeah, I just can't imagine
- 0:38getting to the I mean, maybe if you're just dating and you go on
- 0:42maybe one date and you don't discuss politics, and maybe the next one right
- 0:46you find out or you start going through their Facebook feed and it's like,
- 0:50oh god, who you supported? What? I mean, my husband and
- 0:56I are pretty in line. I'm way more liberal than he is. He
- 1:00tends to be a little bit more conservative than How are you possibly in line?
- 1:03You just described the complete opposite in the things that in my opinion are
- 1:08super important. That's where we're where we're in line. Does that make sense,
- 1:12Like that's the hard things that I'm like, Okay, here we are.
- 1:15Yeah, and then I tend to be a little bit more liberal in
- 1:19certain conversations and whatever. But overall, yeah, no, that's that's about
- 1:23right. Yeah. With my wife and I it's not. Yeah, we're
- 1:26definitely in agreeance on most things. Now. We're not overly political people in
- 1:30general. Yes, you know, I trust me. I'm educated on the
- 1:33process and just you know, civics in general, and I think that's important.
- 1:37But you can dive into just candidates and issues as much or as little
- 1:41as you want, and it's not going to change. So I try not
- 1:45to make my life revolve around it or affect my relationships in any way.
- 1:49I think that that's one of the hardest things. And we've seen friends and
- 1:53people and it was probably you know, four years ago, where they just
- 1:57if you did see to eye, they would just like delete unfriends. I
- 2:04have a couple of family members who take it to that level where they unfriended
- 2:07like all of us on social media, like I don't ever talk politics,
- 2:10but just because of the way they are it's it's wild to me that people
- 2:15have that kind of behavior. It is it's hard to understand. I mean,
- 2:17I guess it's just something to be interested, much like sports or music
- 2:21or just it's it's a thing some people just care a lot about and they
- 2:23put a lot of their time into it, which is totally up to you.
- 2:27But now otherwise don't really care. IM not going to dump my wife
- 2:30for that unless she has some radical change. If I come home today and
- 2:34she's shaved her head, we might have to have a conversation. That would
- 2:42be like in reference to like a neo Nazi shaving her head, not just
- 2:46like two thousand and seven Brittany. In that situation, I might stick around
- 2:52just to be supporting, like in a minute in the morning, Big ninety
- 2:57eight point seven. We were fed a lot of myths growing up, and
- 3:00finally somebody stepped up, and I'm talking about the University of California did a
- 3:05whole study on these myths that our parents told us growing up or that we
- 3:08experienced, and I'd like to debunk them now. If you are okay with
- 3:12that, Yes, it's amazing to me. You might tell me something right
- 3:15now and I will still roll with it. In fact, I'm probably using
- 3:19it with my kids maybe wild how this happens, Well, you remember ever
- 3:23having a stomach ache and getting force fed ginger ale as a child, all
- 3:28the time, ginger ale and seven up just in general, saltine crackers,
- 3:32seven up. I mean, where did that even come from? Well,
- 3:34here's where it came from. Is that actual ginger apparently can help with a
- 3:38stomach egg but ginger ale most of them don't include actually any ginger at all.
- 3:44It's just a flavor, right, And so it's really not doing anything
- 3:46for your stomach ache. But you know it, I guess for a parent,
- 3:52it makes you feel like you're doing something, but really it's doing absolutely
- 3:55nothing other than being just sort of a nice treat. And isn't that the
- 3:59big part of when you're sick as a kid, just getting like comforted,
- 4:02whether that be a fun drink or food. Oh, it's not actually helping
- 4:06with the illness, but it is funny, how whatever. Like I think
- 4:10I had shared this with you. Every time I wanted to go home sick,
- 4:13my grandma would have to come pick me up, and it's like she
- 4:16knew and so she would make me have milk toast, so she would put
- 4:20you just put a piece of toast, put milk over in it and have
- 4:24to eat it, And was like, oh, maybe it's not worth Why
- 4:27I don't even have a clue. Bread soaked in milk. It's so gross?
- 4:31Why is that? I don't something somebody would want to do. Apparently
- 4:34that was supposed to help the old tummy hikes. Another myth they debunked in
- 4:39this big study gum staying in your stomach for seven years, which is so
- 4:43it's always a bizarre amount of time. Why would it Why would it be
- 4:46in there for that long but then suddenly is then gone. Just told this
- 4:50to my cat. You did it? You did. I was like,
- 4:54that's going to be stuck in your stomach. Make sure you spin it out.
- 4:57Oh man, that's good. And listen, we all knew we as
- 5:00a kid, and you maybe were one of them that like swallowed their gum,
- 5:02Like instead of throwing their gum away, they would just swallow it.
- 5:04Yeah, So what are those like? How did those kids not all just
- 5:08seven years later all pass away? They just have really bad digestive tracks.
- 5:12Well, that's the thing they do say in the study that while swallowing gum
- 5:15is not recommended. I guess, probably because you could choke on it.
- 5:17If you do accidentally, you're likely going to pass it like any other indigestable
- 5:21food. What, Yeah, get out of here. I know the whole
- 5:25You shouldn't swim for thirty minutes after eating. Yes, of course we all
- 5:29heard that. I guess that's a myth. There's no supportive evidence at all.
- 5:31I mean they say, I guess what I heard is there? It
- 5:34could cause it a cramp. Well, you'd have like you could get a
- 5:39side egg if you're actually swimming hard, but usually you're just like playing.
- 5:43Yeah, but that's not because yeah, if you're it's going out into the
- 5:46middle of the lake to swim some exact labs and then h finally, chicken
- 5:49soup crying a cold and fed some Campbell soup as a kid when you were
- 5:54sick. Yeah, what is the what is the whole chicken soup thing?
- 5:58Well, they say chicken soup is warm and comforting when you're sick, but
- 6:00it's not a cure. Drinking any hot broth when your sinuses or stuff can
- 6:04help clear them out. Okay, so there's some relief there. Yeah,
- 6:08But as far as like the actual virus that you're experiencing not going to happen.
- 6:13Also, you're going to ruin your eyes if you sit too close to
- 6:15the TV. Myth. They say, while it can strain your eyes,
- 6:19it actually won't do any long term damage. You're fine. And again I'm
- 6:25still using a lot of these with the kids. Weird. Well, isn't
- 6:28it weird now? Because we were told all the time as the kids,
- 6:30because you'd want to sit right up next to the TV. Yeah, and
- 6:32that was the whole thing. But now everyone's screens are literally in their face.
- 6:36Oh yeah, like whenever if the kids are playing on an iPad or
- 6:39some minutess like, no, push it back a little bit, you're gonna
- 6:42you don't want it too close because some brigs for some reason, he'll like
- 6:45hold it right by your pace. But can you even see what's happening there?
- 6:47Taking a minute in the morning seven to play this little thing we do,
- 6:56it's called is it weird? And what we do is decide to the
- 7:00things we do are weird? Are you ready, Amanda? I'd like you
- 7:01to start if you could. All right, this has to do with my
- 7:03dog. Every time I get forget. You have a dog, because once
- 7:08you had those kids, your dog's presence on social media just vanished lous around.
- 7:14Am I wrong to feel bad for the dog? And maybe it was
- 7:16more so your previous dog Veno God rest her soul. Yeah, it was
- 7:21just disappeared. Yeah a kid, well before kids for sure. Yeah,
- 7:27yeah, I just I just always I guess I had a soft spot in
- 7:30my heart for your dog, who is not in existence anymore. Well,
- 7:33I will let you know she's she's well, she's fine. And every time
- 7:38I'm like she comes up anything, I automatically like clean her eyes, like
- 7:44take the little iboogers out, and then in her ears. I always am
- 7:48like looking in her ears and picking at him and like there's always like weird
- 7:53stuff. It's kind of gross, but I do it all the time.
- 7:55And my husband is the one who pointed it out. He's like, why
- 7:59every single time you're with the dog, like that's what you do. It's
- 8:01like I can't just like pet the dog. I'm always like messing with the
- 8:05dog. Does that make sense? Yeah, it's very odd. Yeah,
- 8:07it is odd. I'm going to go as far as to say it's weird,
- 8:11right because I think of like if this was a human it would be
- 8:13like basically every time you came around, I'm like, dig it in your
- 8:16eyes, your ear, Like that's just weird behavior to do. Yeah,
- 8:20they say, you're not even supposed to clean your own ears. I do.
- 8:22Now you're picking through your dog's ears. I know. Oh listen,
- 8:26I love dogs. I don't have a dog. I enjoy not having a
- 8:28dog. But you kind of just let them be dogs, right like we
- 8:33like you did brush their teeth? No, I mean where do you try
- 8:37to? Well? Remember I did tell you in another episode of Is it
- 8:39weird that I sometimes will wipe her bum with a baby wife? Yeah?
- 8:43See, that's just it. That's that's super weird. Yeah, I honestly
- 8:48that that's all weird. But that's why we're talking about it, all right,
- 8:52man? Is it weird that I would request to move tables at a
- 8:56restaurant? Oh gosh, have be so. Well, here's what would be
- 9:01the reason. I mean, there's a couple of reasons. One, I
- 9:03do this often when there's a loud group next to me because I cannot stop
- 9:07it people talking loudly. It never fails either. Yesterday, my wife and
- 9:11I nice little Sunday wanted to get out of the house. So we went
- 9:15to have dinner and at a nice restaurant we like in town and went on
- 9:18the patio and we were the only ones out there. Right away, I
- 9:20thought, well, this is just my style. Yeah, relaxing, beautiful
- 9:24evening. And then of course, just right on cute party is seven the
- 9:28loudest people you've ever heard on otherwise quiet patio. And then there was like
- 9:33a sort of foul smell emitting from the group, and so I just looked
- 9:37at my wife Lauren. I'm like, I can't do this. What's going
- 9:41We're going inside? So just got up, moved our stuff. Oh that's
- 9:45a bummer, but for who? For you? Yeah that you guys like
- 9:48have a nice situation. Yes, And I get like, you're not gonna
- 9:52get you I audios. You never know what's gonna what's gonna go down.
- 9:56But that's unfortunate. I was thinking, if you were in like an inside
- 10:01at a place, would you wait, what would you say? Here's this
- 10:05was like a different situation because you're on the patio and it can very easily
- 10:07be like, oh, we're just going to go in. We got cold.
- 10:11Yeah, And that's what I told the server because I wanted to move
- 10:13to just a different spot on the patio, but like, that's so awkward
- 10:18because they're going to see us get up and move right just down the way
- 10:20a little bit. That would be super weird. I thought about doing it
- 10:24anyway, because who cares, I'm not going to see him again. Yeah,
- 10:28I have friends that will go out with sometimes, and I find this
- 10:33to be weird restaurant behavior. I don't care if I'm in a booth a
- 10:37high top blowtop. If they ask, you know, I'm like, usually
- 10:41i'd sit it a high top. Like that's kind of really my vibe.
- 10:43I go back and forth on what I like. I seem to take a
- 10:46day and just kind of test out the three different options. So and I
- 10:50think it depends on how many people you're with or whatever. Like I don't
- 10:52want to be squished into a booth, but they are just like all,
- 10:56wait, never a booth, Like you can never ever sit in a booth,
- 11:00and they just it's just funny how people have I think. I think
- 11:03I like the booth. I like when the kids are with and we get
- 11:07a booth because then Wilson on the outsides and I feel like somehow that's like
- 11:09holding them in. It is and you know not to mention the privacy.
- 11:15You know, it's like you're not out of the open. Yeah that's true.
- 11:18Yeah, is that you would agree? As far as the privacy,
- 11:20I would say privacy God, Amanda in the morning on signe seven. I
- 11:28know Amanda Stills the Sea. Let's see bring it. Will Smith debuted a
- 11:35brand new song and to be et Awards. It's called you Can Make It
- 11:39very inspiration. It is trying to heal with the battles up heal and if
- 11:43God is for real, you just want to reveal. Listen, so many
- 11:46tests for the flesh, exhausted, caspit to catch your breast, walking through
- 11:52the valley, and the shadow with death when you think you've got nothing left,
- 11:56keep going ahead, you get mad. So he is not the Will
- 12:01Smith that we're used to. I mean, listen, I was banging big
- 12:05Willie style so much in the late nineties. That album was incredible. Yeah,
- 12:09but this is like a weird, serious inspirational vibe. But whatever.
- 12:13It felt very much like Kanye's Sunday Service when he was doing those a little
- 12:18bit. No, well, I mean the rapping style or because it you
- 12:24know, I'm just trying to figure out. I don't know. I didn't
- 12:26listen to his it was and an that wasn't an album, that was just
- 12:28him. Well, I feel didn't he have a full album like that.
- 12:33I don't know. I feel like he did about four years ago. That
- 12:35was his version. You're right, the man listen Big Willy wants to get
- 12:39back into the music. Cool. I don't think it's going to go anywhere
- 12:41other than you know, like he can still rap that, but you don't
- 12:46think it's going to be like he's not going to be getting jiggy with it
- 12:48anymore. I would be open to getting jiggy with it, but this sort
- 12:52of thing like though you can do it go as I think there's enough of
- 12:56that all right. Taylor Swift's Airs was in Ireland's over the weekend and Swifties
- 13:01went wild thinking that she really did not know Travis was going to be there.
- 13:05There was a bunch of videos at surface, like the moment she saw
- 13:09him and just like totally like, oh my gosh, I can't believe you're
- 13:13here. Really, she strikes me as somebody who's probably got his location already
- 13:16on her phone, so that I don't believe that. Well, I mean,
- 13:22which is you know, listen, that's my wife and I have each
- 13:26other's just hilarious first first date. I'm thinking she probably wanted that find my
- 13:33iPhone? Oh my gosh. Well, anyway, whether you believe it or
- 13:37not, he was there. He was in the VIP ten with Julia Roberts
- 13:41and Stevie Nicks. Julia Roberts just giving him like this big old hug.
- 13:48Well, my mind has just blown because we what we hear of t have
- 13:52everything about it. Yeah, he's just like a cool, down to earth
- 13:54guy. But if I'm Taylor, there's gonna be moments, especially Stevie Nix
- 13:58and Julia robb Yeah, I'm looking at trap going don't say anything, stupid?
- 14:03What are you? What are you talking to them about? Is he
- 14:07like pulling out like pretty woman lines? Is he you know, like just
- 14:11being super basic, like oh my god, Stevie Nicks, I love that.
- 14:13What's that one song you guys do? Uh? Oh Landslide? Yeah?
- 14:18I love Landslide. I don't want oh thank you? Or are they
- 14:24just awestruck of him too? I don't know, the whole situation is very
- 14:28bizarre. I'm going to guess Julia Roberts isn't exactly starstruck meeting Travis Kelsey unless
- 14:33he's a big cheap span Yeah, I don't know, never know. Justin
- 14:37timber like, I don't know what he was trying to do here. He
- 14:39was trying to poke fun of his legal troubles in front of legal troubles his
- 14:43d uy, and from what we know, and I'm pretty sure it was
- 14:48just a duhy, why would you make light of it? Listen, So,
- 14:54is there anyone here tonight that is driving a knockskin that's so dumb that
- 15:05it's not it's not funny? First of all, so he was doing the
- 15:09whole thing. Has anybody been in one of my shows before? But is
- 15:11anybody driving? Come on? He drove drunk? Unless again because his lawyer
- 15:16made it seem like there might be more to it anything short of him just
- 15:20being a misunderstanding and he was totally sober. I don't know. I just
- 15:26don't think we need to be laughing about a duy dude. And it's almost
- 15:31like he needs this affirmation, like you guys still love me, right exactly?
- 15:35Who who? They bought tickets to your show? They love you as
- 15:39anybody. No, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding. Anytime you do
- 15:43that the whole like, no, I'm just kidding. I'm just kidding.
- 15:45It's not kind of annoying like a in the morning, big nutty eight points.
- 15:54Now here's what you need to know. Well, the fallout from Thursday
- 15:58nights presidential to bacons in he is with Democratic officials and party members sending mixed
- 16:02messages about the future of President Biden's re election campaign, but it did spend
- 16:07the day yesterday with his family at Cam David. Early reports said that they
- 16:10are urging him to continue running. Some are saying it's time to dip out,
- 16:15but it'll be interesting to see how it all unfold. We do know
- 16:18Governor Bergham is currently over in West Fargo at Randy's Diner. Two. Fox
- 16:22and Friends is over there this morning, seeing a lot of people having breakfast
- 16:26over there and just being a part of it. Getting anybody showed up just
- 16:29to get their usual practice and there's all that going on. Like what the
- 16:33heck is that literally these bright lights is actually eggs inside out. To across
- 16:40the one billion marker at the box office in just nineteen days. It was
- 16:44the quickest for any animated film Frozen two held it before with twenty five Days,
- 16:49but I gotta go see this. Never never saw the first one.
- 16:53Why would I don't have kids? But you know what, not even sure
- 16:56who the characters are? Interesting? I know I have not seen the first
- 16:59one, But how many like families with older kids went and saw this,
- 17:03Like it doesn't feel like it's just a little kid movie, and I feel
- 17:07like that's how they're making them now anyway, I mean, I don't know.
- 17:11I guess Okay, here it is. Inside Out is a song by
- 17:14American alternative rock band Eve six. Does that sound right? Nope, that's
- 17:18that's gonna be this song. I should know. My band opened for that
- 17:22very bad. You would think not a month ago, right. Taylor Swift
- 17:26is a huge fan of Simone Biles and this is pretty cool. So over
- 17:30the weekend they had the US Olympic Trials in Minneapolis at the Target. So
- 17:34yeah, and one of her routines, her floor routines, Simone Bile said,
- 17:38you're ready for it from Taylor Swift? Oh she used that song?
- 17:41Yes, And Taylor said watch this so many times and still unready but she's
- 17:47ready though. Oh that's cute, isn't that cute. That's good to you
- 17:51know, listen, women supporting women. I love to see it. You're
- 17:55here for that, absolutely, and I'm ready for it. You can say
- 17:57I am ready for the summer. That is one thing I love watching gymnastics.
- 18:02I get locked in. Yeah, even swimming. I mean, you
- 18:04can start watching that. It's just it's good. It's so competitive, Like
- 18:08how close those races aren't you know? Yeah? Absolutely, even a track
- 18:12I love watching that too. It makes me anxious because every time they're running,
- 18:17I mean they're going so fast, like you could just trip in one
- 18:21second. And for me, it's like the skinning of a knee, Like
- 18:25I can't does that happen often? And I don't think so, but I
- 18:29think about that, I'm like, ohoo. I kind of get frustrated watching
- 18:32like the longer distance running because it looks like on the TV that they're just
- 18:36kind of casually jogging. I'm like, hey, I know you got more
- 18:38in the tank than that. And no matter how many times I watch track,
- 18:44I always feel like there's an advantage for somebody who is on the inside
- 18:48when they're like in the back. I can't get that out of my mind,
- 18:49and like ooh, well, the inside they start way back from everything.
- 18:55Do I have an opposite Yeah, well that's why they even it evens
- 18:57it out because when they start on this starting line. Yeah, the person
- 19:00on the inside of the track is like way back and its staggers like h
- 19:04still frustrating for me to watch, Like I feel like somebody always has an
- 19:07advantage, no matter why. I know. I mean, I'm sure they
- 19:11all have like their preference on all which spot they like to be in,
- 19:14I would think, but I think just the I don't even know what the
- 19:18geometry of it all. I think it all works out. That's surely wrong.
- 19:22Oh gosh, all right, today it is going to be most a
- 19:26cloudy chance of some thunderstorm Taia seventy four. Like, get Amanda in the
- 19:29morning, come on, get up on Big seven. I saw something that
- 19:34I wanted to share with you. I saw it and I thought, oh
- 19:37wow, this is helpful. And so if your parent, like Amanda,
- 19:40especially if you got young kids, this is gonna be very very helpful.
- 19:44I think I'm ready for So listen, it's summer. You might be going
- 19:47to like public pools, you might be going to the park a lot with
- 19:51the young kids, and I imagine it can be very difficult to get them
- 19:53to agree that it's time to go home. Oh yeah, that's always that's
- 19:57always a challenge. We do our best, Like you always kind of set
- 20:00that intention before you go. Hey, just a reminder, you know,
- 20:04when we say it's time to go, we're gonna go. Okay, And
- 20:07that's not reasonable, but works about seventy people. Right. One thing I
- 20:11know about young children is well, reason isn't exactly they're strong, right,
- 20:17strong point. But here's a hack. A mom shared online that I saw
- 20:19this. I thought, oh, this could be helpful for Amanda and anybody.
- 20:22So basically the hack she realized and she did it by total accident.
- 20:26They were going to the pool and she was in such a hurry to get
- 20:29to the pool she forgot to bring any sort of snacks or anything, and
- 20:32so it got to the point where the kids were very hungry and she's like,
- 20:36well, we're gonna have to go home if you kids want to eat,
- 20:40and so it clicked in her brain, just don't bring any food and
- 20:44that way, when they get hungry, the only option for them is to
- 20:47go home. Just like anything, when it's like make that person as uncomfortable
- 20:51as possible, and they'll be like, okay, yeah, that's right.

- 21:04sometimes I'll have a little snack in my purse or whatever. But for the
- 21:07most part, the thing is is it feels like everywhere you go anymore you
- 21:11can buy snacks. And my kids know that it's just there. It's like,
- 21:15no, we don't want to be buying that. But a lot of
- 21:18times you can't bring snacks for free to a lot of places because they want
- 21:22you to buy the concessions. You see it everywhere. Even I remember growing
- 21:26up, like in church, kids can't sit through a forty five minute service
- 21:29without you know, munching on some serials some something to do. Yeahah,
- 21:33and that's a problem even in my old age. Now it's just eating for
- 21:37something to do. It's really a lot big snack boy. Wow, guilty
- 21:41is charged with the snack boy
