- 1:40Speaker 2: at sunclouds today eighty six gonna be hot tonight, cloudy
- 1:45Speaker 2: sky's sixty five degrees. It was just talking with this
- 1:49Speaker 2: nice old man is walking down the sidewalk out here
- 1:53Speaker 2: in front of the studio this morning, getting his morning
- 1:55Speaker 2: walk in before the heat comes. He said, Tuesday looks
- 2:00Speaker 2: like sun and clouds tomorrow ninety five degrees. Can someone
- 2:06Speaker 2: say Warren Falls could get some thunderstorms Tuesday night and
- 2:12Speaker 2: they could be strong. I'm going to keep an eye
- 2:14Speaker 2: on it for you and we'll keep you up to
- 2:16Speaker 2: speed on things Wednesday, sunny, eighty five, Curryer Park, the

- 3:00Speaker 2: this day, number thirteen of July. What's the What's the
- 3:07Speaker 2: best thing that happened to you this weekend? The best thing.
- 3:16Speaker 2: We're going to get into that this morning. We're going
- 3:18Speaker 2: to talk about it. One of the best things that
- 3:22Speaker 2: happened to me. Actually, I don't know if I could
- 3:26Speaker 2: say one of the best things. The best thing that
- 3:33Speaker 2: happened to me this weekend was the experience that I
- 3:38Speaker 2: had in a large field out in the middle of
- 3:43Speaker 2: nowhere in South Royalton. It was just amazing to experience
- 3:52Speaker 2: everything that happened at Vincent's Battle of the Bands. We're
- 3:57Speaker 2: going to be chatting with Vinnie here in just a
- 4:01Speaker 2: little bit central Vermont. Habitat for Humanity's new restore in
- 4:07Speaker 2: Berlin is where everybody was yesterday for their grand opening.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Several people, several hundred people showed up for this and
- 4:18Speaker 2: it was just amazing, and a big shout out to
- 4:20Speaker 2: the Wayside Restaurant for donating the burghers and the dogs
- 4:24Speaker 2: for the free cookout. The volunteers, the entire staff, including
- 4:29Speaker 2: Zach and Jess, were just amazing. The prices were fantastic,
- 4:35Speaker 2: the variety was huge, the layout was well planned, everything
- 4:41Speaker 2: was organized. It was just even though there were so
- 4:44Speaker 2: many people and there had to be three or four
- 4:45Speaker 2: hundred people in there, easily proceeds support Habitat for Humanity
- 4:51Speaker 2: affordable housing projects, including the one currently underway in Northfield.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I can't wait to get back over there and chat
- 4:59Speaker 2: with Zach and Jess and a few other of the
- 5:01Speaker 2: volunteers really really soon as we shine the spotlight brightly
- 5:07Speaker 2: on this new store in Berlin. Incredible. Two separate missing
- 5:11Speaker 2: person cases involving Bradford area men over the weekend. Both
- 5:17Speaker 2: incidents had positive outcomes with the men found safe after
- 5:22Speaker 2: a whole lot of public assistance and law enforcement efforts.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Great news. There some drunk guy at the Do Good
- 5:31Speaker 2: Fest on Saturday biting officers while he was getting arrested.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Next time he needs to do gooder. First ever Upper
- 5:43Speaker 2: Valley Cars and Coffee event at the Powerhouse Mall parking
- 5:48Speaker 2: lot in wes Lebanon yesterday, huge crowd, over one hundred
- 5:52Speaker 2: and fifty classic and antique cars a crowd of several
- 5:56Speaker 2: hundred people. Organizer Chris Hatch and his son were just
- 6:00Speaker 2: over the moon with the turnout and expect next month's
- 6:05Speaker 2: August ninth meet to be even bigger. Follow them on
- 6:09Speaker 2: Facebook and Upper Valley Cars and Coffee. And speaking of
- 6:12Speaker 2: cars and car shows, brace yourself. Barry Cyrus Douchcharm is
- 6:19Speaker 2: bringing the goods to thunder Road with the first of
- 6:24Speaker 2: its kind car show in just about two weeks from now.
- 6:28Speaker 2: The Cars and Rubber Show at thunder Road July twenty fourth,
- 6:33Speaker 2: twenty fifth, and twenty sixth vendors car show, cars, two
- 6:41Speaker 2: step comps, burnouts, car limbo, music, food, tons more. Cyrus
- 6:50Speaker 2: is going to be on the air with us really
- 6:52Speaker 2: soon and talking about this a lot more the national headlines.
- 6:58Speaker 2: I think the primary here over at the last couple
- 7:01Speaker 2: of days, Senator Lindsey Graham dying at age seventy one,
- 7:07Speaker 2: long time South Carolina Republican senator passing away from an
- 7:13Speaker 2: aortic dissection unbelievable. The US has launched another round of
- 7:19Speaker 2: military strikes against Iranian targets after renewed attacks on the
- 7:26Speaker 2: commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, increasing concerns over
- 7:31Speaker 2: global energy supplies and regional instability. That was not the
- 7:38Speaker 2: greatest news over the weekend, and things are just ramping
- 7:41Speaker 2: up there over in the Middle East, and it's sad
- 7:43Speaker 2: to hear Wall Street brasen for a busy week. Investors
- 7:47Speaker 2: are watching closely major banks, including JP Morgan, Chase, Bank
- 7:54Speaker 2: of America, City Group, Goldman, Sachs, Wells Fargo. They're all
- 7:58Speaker 2: going to be reporting earnings, and the inflation report is
- 8:03Speaker 2: due this week and could influence future interest rate decisions,
- 8:08Speaker 2: So pay attention to that. I'm going to be very
- 8:12Speaker 2: much so dangerous heat gripping parts of the West Salt
- 8:16Speaker 2: Lake City one hundred and nine degrees heat warnings remain
- 8:20Speaker 2: in effect there. Congress is going to be returning to
- 8:25Speaker 2: key legislative battles. Lawmakers expected to debate federal spending, national security,
- 8:32Speaker 2: economic priorities. Could be a pivotal week on Capitol Hill.
- 8:36Speaker 2: We'll keep you posted on things. Health officials continuing to
- 8:41Speaker 2: monitor ebola or ebolai cases. What is it? Obola ebola?
- 8:48Speaker 2: I think whatever it is, I'm glad I don't have it.
- 8:51Speaker 2: The CDC is tracking a US citizen who's tested positive
- 8:56Speaker 2: right now. Health risk very low, so they said, on
- 9:02Speaker 2: a lighter note, it's e Bowlie. Michael Jackson, his movie Michael.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I don't know if you've seen it. Highest grossing movie
- 9:14Speaker 2: just landed one billion dollars. The movie, the Michael Jackson
- 9:21Speaker 2: Biopic has officially crossed it. And I think this hit
- 9:24Speaker 2: last night the one billion dollar worldwide mark at the
- 9:29Speaker 2: box office. Milestone. Yes, first biographical film in history to
- 9:36Speaker 2: reach that mark. Highest grossing musical biopic of all time.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Not surprised, saw it twice, Loved it. Israeli officials have
- 9:48Speaker 2: reportedly warned the United States about a possible Iranian plot
- 9:52Speaker 2: targeting President Donald Trump. Are you surprised? According to multiple
- 9:57Speaker 2: news outlets citing unnamed official, The reports say that Israel
- 10:03Speaker 2: shared intelligence with United States authorities after identifying what it
- 10:08Speaker 2: believed to be a credible threat. Although no public evidence
- 10:12Speaker 2: has been released detailing any of this alleged plot, reports
- 10:16Speaker 2: also indicate there is no indication that the threat is
- 10:19Speaker 2: considered imminent. US Secret Service and other federal agencies routinely
- 10:25Speaker 2: evaluate and respond to threats against the president. Neither the
- 10:28Speaker 2: White House nor US Intelligence officials have publicly confirmed specific
- 10:36Speaker 2: details about the reported warning. Of course they haven't. No
- 10:42Speaker 2: Tailor Rocketman didn't do that as well, not this big,
- 10:46Speaker 2: and neither did Bohemian Rhapsody this weekend. As I let
- 10:52Speaker 2: off this morning by saying, was huge for me. Not
- 10:57Speaker 2: only was my heart full to see the huge out
- 11:00Speaker 2: yesterday at the new Restore building in Berlin, and it
- 11:04Speaker 2: was just so much fun to be there, but Saturday
- 11:08Speaker 2: was particularly particularly special for me. It was an experience
- 11:15Speaker 2: unlike none other that I've ever had. In Vermont. I
- 11:19Speaker 2: got a chance to get to Vincent's Battle of the
- 11:22Speaker 2: Bands at Vincent's campground in Royalton for the live music,
- 11:29Speaker 2: the incredible food, the camping, the whole experience was just stellar.
- 11:39Speaker 2: And if you haven't been on Vincent's Battle dot Org.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yet you gotta get there. Vinnie has been on with
- 11:50Speaker 2: me in the past a couple of times. He's back
- 11:52Speaker 2: with me this morning. You must be a very very
- 11:57Speaker 2: tired guy right now, Vinnie.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Well, I'm definitely a little tired, and I'm trying to
- 12:03Speaker 3: get my voice back from all hooting and hollering on Saturday.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Yeah. It was amazing, dude.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it turned out perfectly. Bands were just I mean,
- 12:17Speaker 3: if you love music, it's there was something there for everybody. Yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 3: and the right amount of people showed up because literally
- 12:25Speaker 3: the whole one hundred and seventy pound pig was there's
- 12:29Speaker 3: nothing but yeah, it was nothing but bones, you know
- 12:32Speaker 3: at the end. So, I mean it was the right
- 12:34Speaker 3: sized crowd for me, you know, being my first one.
- 12:37Speaker 3: I didn't want like too many people to.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Show you were you were busy enough as it was. Yeah.
- 12:42Speaker 2: How many people do you think were there, Vinnie.
- 12:45Speaker 4: I have no idea.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yeah, just a couple of hundred.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Yeah, probably that's probably roughly all right correct.
- 12:52Speaker 2: What happened was what's the story of your son, Vincent Jr.
- 13:00Speaker 2: What's the inception of all of this For folks that
- 13:03Speaker 2: are not familiar with Well.
- 13:04Speaker 3: He was a musician and he played music, and you know,
- 13:08Speaker 3: he died recently fentanyl poisoning, you know, murder. That's how
- 13:13Speaker 3: I classify him. And the band showed up for his
- 13:19Speaker 3: celebration of life, and they just it was just amazing. Now,
- 13:23Speaker 3: they just all came and played music for him and a.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Couple how many bands twelve thirteen?
- 13:30Speaker 3: Well, fifteen, this last weekend was twelve, But the original
- 13:34Speaker 3: Celebrational Life I think was seven. Okay, But so this show,
- 13:41Speaker 3: we really concentrated on all his friends that played music,
- 13:44Speaker 3: and we got them all there, and I mean it
- 13:50Speaker 3: was kind of like another Celebrational Life, you know, in
- 13:52Speaker 3: a way. But so it was a great turnout. We
- 13:57Speaker 3: had politicians showed up. I was able to talk to
- 13:59Speaker 3: you and more.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Depth, you know.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I got to tell you Joshua Lake, Yeah, amazing guy
- 14:06Speaker 2: who's running for Windsor County sheriff. Yes, thirty years old.
- 14:13Speaker 2: That dude had such an impact on me. We had
- 14:18Speaker 2: a conversation and I was like, well, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 14:21Speaker 2: hang on, man, hang on, I got to turn my
- 14:24Speaker 2: phone on. We need to start capturing what we're saying
- 14:28Speaker 2: right now. I want everybody to hear. And I did
- 14:33Speaker 2: and it came out perfectly. What he said really resonated
- 14:39Speaker 2: with a lot of people. This guy is so dialed
- 14:43Speaker 2: in thirty years old. His older brother was ten years sober,
- 14:50Speaker 2: relapsed just like your son did, Yeah, and died.
- 14:54Speaker 3: And that tells you the importance of the after treatment programs.
- 15:00Speaker 3: They're they're crucial.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, they are huge. There's a lot going on here,
- 15:07Speaker 2: and Joshua and I we were able to chat about
- 15:12Speaker 2: this a little bit. Prevention is key, being a great parent,
- 15:19Speaker 2: starting out early, getting your kids on the right path,
- 15:24Speaker 2: recovery treatment centers, getting people the right resources, but also
- 15:35Speaker 2: the relationship with law enforcement. As josh was saying, Yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 2: that's has got a change.
- 15:40Speaker 3: It has to change, asked the way they do policing
- 15:45Speaker 3: has to change too. I mean, I think if this
- 15:49Speaker 3: epidemic was treated the same as like say domestic violence,
- 15:53Speaker 3: I mean, if somebody calls the police for domestic violence,
- 15:56Speaker 3: you got like twenty cops will show up, you know instantly. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 3: some what as you going to jail?
- 16:02Speaker 2: Here's the thing, Fornny, and you know this, this is
- 16:06Speaker 2: a this is a controversial subject in respect to everybody's
- 16:11Speaker 2: got an opinion on drug use. You can't put this
- 16:21Speaker 2: one thing in a box.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Man.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Now there's folks that are supplying, selling, distributing all that
- 16:31Speaker 2: real problem. Then there's there's folks that just can't get
- 16:38Speaker 2: themselves out of the grips of addiction, yeap, and maybe
- 16:46Speaker 2: have explored a couple of resources that haven't really worked out.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I mean, Josh was telling me that right now, in
- 16:56Speaker 2: the state of Vermont, treatment facilities are what are they
- 17:01Speaker 2: twenty eight days?
- 17:03Speaker 3: It's in my experience, I think it took almost four
- 17:07Speaker 3: weeks to get him in treatment, and that's just unacceptable.
- 17:11Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's they could be dead before they
- 17:15Speaker 3: even get there, you know.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Yeah, Josh is one, I mean insanely busy guy. He
- 17:27Speaker 2: was going on no sleep, running around going from one
- 17:32Speaker 2: thing to another, and even on no literally no sleep
- 17:37Speaker 2: from the previous day. He was at your event and said,
- 17:45Speaker 2: I've gotta I've got to get on a jet and
- 17:50Speaker 2: and and i gotta i gotta catch a plane. I
- 17:53Speaker 2: gotta go. You know, I'm I'm hoping at some point
- 17:59Speaker 2: that he'll drive up here and sit on the couch.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Yeah. I spoke to him. He wants to be here.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I also hope that we can get some of
- 18:11Speaker 2: these musicians to come in here and not necessarily perform maybe,
- 18:19Speaker 2: but mostly to share their story. Patrick Sargent one of
- 18:24Speaker 2: the musicians that played blew my Mind. H Jacob Green unbelievable,
- 18:35Speaker 2: another good one. Gully Boys Legends, you know, Bill, Bill
- 18:42Speaker 2: Temple both there. Yeah, I mean these guys, Rick Reddington,
- 18:49Speaker 2: Rick Reddington, you know.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Uh, these are the people that want to help the community.
- 18:57Speaker 4: And and they're all in.
- 19:00Speaker 2: There. There were a couple of different crowds that were there.
- 19:06Speaker 2: There was a young crowd that was very very dialed
- 19:09Speaker 2: into the music, the artistry of rap, which your son
- 19:16Speaker 2: was and his his friends were all there, and their
- 19:22Speaker 2: friends were there. And there was a community, a couple
- 19:26Speaker 2: of different communities that all came together from some from
- 19:28Speaker 2: New York and and Rutland, and they were just all there.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I've never been really a rap guy, however, I sat
- 19:44Speaker 2: and listened to them rapping, them performing, and I was
- 19:50Speaker 2: listening to the messages in their lyrics.
- 19:57Speaker 4: That's that's there.
- 19:59Speaker 3: I think there advantage to their type of music as
- 20:02Speaker 3: they can they can use what that's their music is words.
- 20:05Speaker 2: It's words, and they can say and and rhythm and
- 20:11Speaker 2: putting those two together. What a fusion, and it was
- 20:15Speaker 2: it was amazing to hear what they were saying. Sometimes
- 20:20Speaker 2: a little fast for this old guy to process it,
- 20:24Speaker 2: but man, I mean And they've got a big music
- 20:29Speaker 2: festival that's coming up this coming weekend seventeenth, eighteenth, and
- 20:36Speaker 2: nineteenth Music is Life Fest, And so many of the
- 20:42Speaker 2: artists that were performing under your tent at your event
- 20:48Speaker 2: are going to be there this weekend Bellows Falls. And
- 20:52Speaker 2: I'm going to give you more information on that. Trust me,
- 20:56Speaker 2: we're gonna we're going to blow that up here on
- 20:58Speaker 2: the air. But this is for you. This is about
- 21:04Speaker 2: bringing awareness. This is also about prevention, This is also
- 21:13Speaker 2: about recovery. But this is also about Vermont getting tough
- 21:20Speaker 2: on this stuff.
- 21:21Speaker 4: Yeah, we need to change the laws.
- 21:24Speaker 2: We need to change a lot, and hopefully we've got
- 21:30Speaker 2: some politicians that are paying attention and really going to
- 21:37Speaker 2: put forth some effort in maybe drawing up a bill.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, we're working on that right now.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Okay, we have.
- 21:45Speaker 4: Kirk White who's has a lot of experience with that.
- 21:48Speaker 4: He was there.
- 21:50Speaker 3: And my cousin, so he's kind of dedicated to this
- 21:55Speaker 3: cause as well, and I would like to get him
- 21:58Speaker 3: in here at some point.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Too as well possible please and.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Yes, and also we have Rebecca White the other end
- 22:06Speaker 3: the Senate, and she wants to help craft this law
- 22:10Speaker 3: as well. So and then my input, you know, and
- 22:14Speaker 3: and you know I need their help because they know
- 22:18Speaker 3: how to get the laws, you know, moved forward and passed.
- 22:22Speaker 2: So one of the guys that we were all kind
- 22:27Speaker 2: of in a different frame of mind. I think when
- 22:29Speaker 2: we were there, a lot of us were consumed with
- 22:31Speaker 2: the music and some incredible food. But one of the
- 22:36Speaker 2: guys that I really wanted to chat with more. And
- 22:40Speaker 2: when I was driving home, it hit me, I'm like,
- 22:44Speaker 2: damn it, I wish you had more. I wish that
- 22:48Speaker 2: you took more of an opportunity to chat with. This
- 22:52Speaker 2: guy was Jay from Divided Sky.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he's he's definitely. We're definitely trying to get
- 23:00Speaker 3: Divided Sky to be part of our organization, and Jay's
- 23:04Speaker 3: working hard with that. He's talking with the higher ups
- 23:07Speaker 3: that I don't know what you call him, the chair people.
- 23:11Speaker 3: And so yeah, I would like you guys at some
- 23:15Speaker 3: point be able to do just a Divided Sky interview
- 23:20Speaker 3: because not many people know about it.
- 23:22Speaker 1: No.
- 23:23Speaker 2: It all started when Trey is Anastasio from from Fish.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I think he was what pulled over and busted for
- 23:31Speaker 2: I don't know what it was. I don't know pot
- 23:34Speaker 2: or booze, whatever it was. And he, you know, graciously
- 23:41Speaker 2: accepted his failures and accepted his responsibility to do better.
- 23:51Speaker 2: But he also noticed a couple of pretty big loopholes
- 23:55Speaker 2: that weren't being met and said, I got to do
- 23:59Speaker 2: something something in this state. And it took that experience
- 24:05Speaker 2: for Divided Sky to be born. And now Jonas Promise
- 24:11Speaker 2: has got a coffee that's called Divided Sky named after
- 24:15Speaker 2: all this. I mean, it's it's a big deal, man,
- 24:17Speaker 2: it's a big big deal.
- 24:19Speaker 3: And you know, being that we do music and stuff,
- 24:21Speaker 3: and and Jay knows these people like I think he
- 24:25Speaker 3: knows three members of Fish, you know, so it's possible someday,
- 24:32Speaker 3: you know, it'd be amazing if we could get some
- 24:36Speaker 3: of the members that even show up someday.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Tell me about Bob Duncle.
- 24:44Speaker 4: He's another politician.
- 24:47Speaker 3: He's running for state representative in in my area and he.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Wants to be windsor Orange District one I think, yes,
- 24:56Speaker 2: which which includes Worlton and Tonbridge.
- 24:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and he was gonna try to do a phone
- 25:02Speaker 3: in with you today, but I.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Think he's with us right now. Bob, you there, I
- 25:07Speaker 2: am here, hey man, it is. It's a pleasure to
- 25:10Speaker 2: have you on aired Out this morning. Thank you so much.
- 25:14Speaker 2: What say you about all of this? Were you able
- 25:18Speaker 2: to get to Vincent's Battle of the Bands on Saturday?
- 25:22Speaker 5: I was, and I enjoyed it.
- 25:24Speaker 6: I brought some friends up from Massachusetts and they said
- 25:27Speaker 6: it was the best Pig Girls they'd ever been to.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Yeah. What an experience. Man. The music, I mean, everything
- 25:35Speaker 2: about it was unbelievable. It was full of love, full
- 25:39Speaker 2: of joy, full of great music and drink and everything.
- 25:43Speaker 2: But a bigger, bigger message here, and it goes beyond
- 25:48Speaker 2: just awareness. Are we being tough enough in Vermont on
- 25:55Speaker 2: the battle against opioid use? Overuse, addiction? And how how
- 26:05Speaker 2: can we do how can we do something to prevent
- 26:12Speaker 2: the drugs from infiltrating our state at the level that
- 26:18Speaker 2: they are?
- 26:21Speaker 6: Well, I don't think we're doing enough, mainly because I
- 26:25Speaker 6: think we're a little soft on crime in general and Vermont.
- 26:30Speaker 6: I mean that's just my opinion. But you know, if
- 26:34Speaker 6: you if you're bringing in drugs that have a very
- 26:42Speaker 6: high kill ratio. I mean, I'm on the fire department.
- 26:45Speaker 6: I've been an empty We do special training just for
- 26:52Speaker 6: those instances where we come across somebody who's overdosed on
- 26:56Speaker 6: ventanyl and we have to be careful in touching and
- 27:00Speaker 6: handling the person that we're working with because that can
- 27:03Speaker 6: infect us as well. Right through this. So that stuff
- 27:06Speaker 6: is so potent, so vile that it doesn't take much
- 27:12Speaker 6: to kill somebody. And if you're, in my opinion, if
- 27:15Speaker 6: you're bringing that to somebody with the intent to give
- 27:18Speaker 6: it to them with or without their knowledge that you're
- 27:21Speaker 6: trying to kill that person, I mean, you know that
- 27:23Speaker 6: the consequences can be that that person will die, and
- 27:28Speaker 6: so I think there needs to be a higher penalty
- 27:30Speaker 6: for that that's enforced.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Yeah, what what is what is currently in place for
- 27:40Speaker 2: something like this? Anything?
- 27:43Speaker 6: You know, I'm not sure, to be honest with you.
- 27:47Speaker 6: I think there is some penalties, but I don't think
- 27:50Speaker 6: there's I'm certain they're not severe enough. I mean, I
- 27:54Speaker 6: can look it up real quick, the Vermont consequences Vermont
- 28:00Speaker 6: law of regarding bent and all. But it's I've talked
- 28:05Speaker 6: to uh, you know, I have other friends whose child
- 28:09Speaker 6: children have died from the same thing and and yeah.
- 28:13Speaker 6: So some people will say, well, this person was taking
- 28:15Speaker 6: drugs anyway, so they're you know, they're not harmless in
- 28:20Speaker 6: this or they can't be held harmless. That might be true,
- 28:23Speaker 6: but that person may not know that there's been something
- 28:25Speaker 6: else added to it that's they could kill them.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's uh, you know it. In Joshua Lake, who's
- 28:36Speaker 2: running for sheriff Winsor County, right, I'm pretty sure. Yeah,
- 28:45Speaker 2: I asked him point blank, is this murder? And he
- 28:51Speaker 2: didn't even hesitate. He was like, absolutely it is. We've
- 28:57Speaker 2: but he also recognized we got some some real problems
- 29:03Speaker 2: in some of our corridors coming into Vermont, and it's
- 29:09Speaker 2: not just ninety one North out of Springfield in Hartford.
- 29:15Speaker 2: I'm not sure what we need to do here in Vermont,
- 29:19Speaker 2: josh says. And I've had a few other people on
- 29:23Speaker 2: the air here who have echoed the same sentiment that
- 29:27Speaker 2: the only the only way to really get a grip
- 29:31Speaker 2: on this is to destroy the market, essentially the customers.
- 29:41Speaker 2: The customers and I'm sorry, yeah, no, please bop go
- 29:46Speaker 2: right ahead.
- 29:48Speaker 6: So I guess my next question would be, how do
- 29:50Speaker 6: you destroy the customers I mean using that term. Yeah,
- 29:55Speaker 6: and the market. You know, the problem is that people
- 29:59Speaker 6: have addictions. Everybody has addictions, whatever it is. Everybody has
- 30:03Speaker 6: an addiction. It could be caffeine, it could be whatever. Sure, gambling, gambling,
- 30:09Speaker 6: you know all.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Cigarettes work. Yeah, exactly.
- 30:17Speaker 6: So, so once we acknowledge that we all suffer from
- 30:21Speaker 6: something along the line of addiction, then maybe we can
- 30:24Speaker 6: be a little bit more compassionate towards the person has addictions,
- 30:27Speaker 6: towards things that can actually kill them more quickly. And yeah,
- 30:34Speaker 6: so education, I think parents need more involvement with their kids.
- 30:38Speaker 6: I think there's all kinds of things that go into
- 30:40Speaker 6: that to help keep them from going down that road
- 30:44Speaker 6: to begin with. But my issue is with the person
- 30:47Speaker 6: who knows that they have this addiction and and use
- 30:52Speaker 6: that to gain an advantage over them or to put
- 30:59Speaker 6: them in harms way. There are some drugs that are
- 31:03Speaker 6: so addictive all you have to do is have it
- 31:05Speaker 6: once and you're hooked. And there are people who will
- 31:08Speaker 6: go out and try to get you that drug with
- 31:12Speaker 6: or without your knowledge, so that you become a customer.
- 31:14Speaker 6: So so how do we stop that from happening, I
- 31:19Speaker 6: guess would be the question.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're absolutely right, and Joshua Lake was hitting
- 31:29Speaker 2: on some of these things too. You know, destroying the
- 31:32Speaker 2: market is a multi tier effort. Man. It's like it's huge,
- 31:39Speaker 2: and prevention is just one of them, small piece of
- 31:43Speaker 2: the pie, but in a very important one too. It's like,
- 31:46Speaker 2: we got to start at the route and be better parents,
- 31:50Speaker 2: better community members. We have to better law enforcement, we
- 31:55Speaker 2: have to look out for one another. We have to
- 31:58Speaker 2: get you know, like josh Us saying, you know, look
- 32:02Speaker 2: at the look at the sports communities we have. We
- 32:06Speaker 2: have families, we have we have people in our community
- 32:09Speaker 2: that are pushing for for you know, for for athletic
- 32:17Speaker 2: departments and for kids to get into basketball and softball
- 32:25Speaker 2: and soccer. And the community is tight and they they bang.
- 32:31Speaker 6: Don't forget track of course, yes, track and field.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Yeah absolutely, It's like, you know, but look at how
- 32:42Speaker 2: dialed in this this community is and how they all
- 32:45Speaker 2: support each other and they push each other and encourage
- 32:49Speaker 2: each other, and there's there's a there's a sense of
- 32:52Speaker 2: camaraderie that's very very strong. We need to do that
- 32:56Speaker 2: for our community. If we have a friend or a
- 33:00Speaker 2: friend of a friend who is going down a road,
- 33:04Speaker 2: we need to try to help them get off of
- 33:06Speaker 2: that road and get on a better road.
- 33:11Speaker 6: Yeah, I agree, and I want to give a shout
- 33:14Speaker 6: out first of all, to law enforcement. I know quite
- 33:16Speaker 6: a few people are on law enforcement. They're doing a
- 33:19Speaker 6: great job, they're doing the best they can. But what
- 33:21Speaker 6: they're up against, I think a little bit, is that
- 33:23Speaker 6: the state tends to catch and release really quickly, and
- 33:27Speaker 6: so they could put on these books all these tough
- 33:31Speaker 6: consequences for trafficking and possessing, but they if the cops
- 33:37Speaker 6: arrest them and then they're sent right out, you know,
- 33:40Speaker 6: back on the streets, there's no consequence there. Maybe the
- 33:44Speaker 6: consequences on the books, but what is the reality of
- 33:48Speaker 6: whether those consequences. I mean, I know I have friends,
- 33:52Speaker 6: I know people who are very frustrated with the idea
- 33:54Speaker 6: that you know, so and so got arrested again for distributing,
- 33:58Speaker 6: but they're back out on the street the next day.
- 34:01Speaker 3: And that's where we need mandatory sending sentences and they
- 34:06Speaker 3: have to be strong. And that's the main backbone of
- 34:10Speaker 3: the law that I would like to present, and we
- 34:13Speaker 3: need to take this out of the judge's hands and
- 34:16Speaker 3: they're give and not give them the ability to catch
- 34:19Speaker 3: a release anymore, because they're literally killing other people in
- 34:22Speaker 3: our community by letting them go back out. And in
- 34:28Speaker 3: my opinion, that is absolutely keen in this new law.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Bob, what do you say to other politicians that are
- 34:42Speaker 2: campaigning right now, that are running, or politicians in our
- 34:48Speaker 2: Vermont legislature right now who may not look at this issue?
- 34:58Speaker 2: And I know, Bob, we could talk about Act one
- 35:01Speaker 2: eighty one all day. We could talk about lowering taxes
- 35:04Speaker 2: and the state spending and stuff like that. I know
- 35:08Speaker 2: that we've got a lot of challenges. But what do
- 35:10Speaker 2: you say to Vermont politicians running or already in office
- 35:17Speaker 2: that don't have this issue of our opioid crisis in
- 35:25Speaker 2: this little, tiny, beautiful New England state that they don't
- 35:30Speaker 2: have this as one of their top three priorities.
- 35:34Speaker 6: Maybe they ought to spend more time, maybe doing ride
- 35:37Speaker 6: alongs with ambulance companies, but they need to understand that
- 35:41Speaker 6: drugs are non partisan. There's nothing partisan about fentanyl. It'll
- 35:46Speaker 6: kill anybody regardless of what they wear for a label.
- 35:49Speaker 6: And unless we as a community gathered together and put
- 35:53Speaker 6: that partisan crap aside and say, look, we've got a problem,
- 35:58Speaker 6: how can we work together to result this problem. Part
- 36:01Speaker 6: of the problem is that we have divisiveness. And so
- 36:05Speaker 6: you know, our judges may be more left wing leaning
- 36:09Speaker 6: than some of the people who want them to be,
- 36:11Speaker 6: and and they make I don't know, I don't know
- 36:14Speaker 6: all the answers, but I do know that partisanship is
- 36:18Speaker 6: going to destroy us as a state if we don't.
- 36:21Speaker 6: And that's foot all issues. We all breathe the same air,
- 36:25Speaker 6: we all drink the same water, we all enjoy the
- 36:27Speaker 6: same scenery, and a lot of us are related. So
- 36:30Speaker 6: we need to realize that the big issues that are
- 36:34Speaker 6: killing our friends and our kids are bigger than the
- 36:40Speaker 6: partisan you know, get out on the street, talk to
- 36:43Speaker 6: people and learn what their stories are. Don't isolate yourself
- 36:48Speaker 6: from it. You can't isolate yourself from it. You have
- 36:51Speaker 6: to be a part of the community to be able
- 36:53Speaker 6: to represent the community.
- 36:56Speaker 2: We just got to comment here. The judicial system and
- 36:59Speaker 2: the correctional systems hearing from it are terrible.
- 37:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's it's absolutely horrible. I mean because
- 37:14Speaker 3: I've spoke with law enforcement and actually a person related
- 37:21Speaker 3: to me has a job as a manager of a
- 37:23Speaker 3: convenience store and she actually speaks to the law enforcement
- 37:26Speaker 3: officers on a daily basis. I mean, she's almost like
- 37:29Speaker 3: friends with them all, and they all say the same thing.
- 37:33Speaker 3: They're like, we finally do the right thing, we finally
- 37:35Speaker 3: get a bust, and a week later they see the
- 37:40Speaker 3: same person on the street and and that's like very
- 37:43Speaker 3: demoralizing for the law enforcement. But also, I mean, we
- 37:50Speaker 3: got to start looking at this. This is a threat
- 37:53Speaker 3: to society, like it's that serious. I mean, in my opinion,
- 37:58Speaker 3: you could call it a up in a mass destruction
- 38:01Speaker 3: if you want to call it that. And we're not
- 38:05Speaker 3: looking at it like that. It's like everybody's got blinders
- 38:10Speaker 3: on and there's a word game going on where they
- 38:12Speaker 3: just call it, oh, it's just another overdose. And somehow
- 38:17Speaker 3: by just saying it's just another overdose and not even
- 38:20Speaker 3: having a law that is for that overdose victim is
- 38:25Speaker 3: I don't even know how it's possible. I don't even
- 38:27Speaker 3: understand it. I mean, to be serious about it, I'm
- 38:31Speaker 3: not an I legal expert, but I can use common
- 38:34Speaker 3: sense and know that, you know, we we have to
- 38:39Speaker 3: change the laws. The cops have to be unhandcuffed so
- 38:44Speaker 3: they can do their job, and when they do do
- 38:47Speaker 3: their job. They need to get to that a boy
- 38:50Speaker 3: or victory in court.
- 38:53Speaker 2: You know, it's you know a comment here that's in it.
- 38:58Speaker 2: I know, Bob. The the primaries coming up August eleventh,
- 39:02Speaker 2: which is pretty much tomorrow, and there's a lot of
- 39:08Speaker 2: stuff that needs to be talked about with regard to Vermont.
- 39:12Speaker 2: One of the comments that just came in is, I
- 39:15Speaker 2: think a lot of people, especially those in power, think
- 39:18Speaker 2: that it runs too deep and there's too much to
- 39:21Speaker 2: try and fix. But if we just call or but
- 39:25Speaker 2: if we just all came together and put our foot
- 39:28Speaker 2: down as a collective community and start treating it like
- 39:31Speaker 2: the crisis that it actually is, it can be possible.
- 39:36Speaker 4: It's perfectly said.
- 39:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's what say you, Bob, No, I agree.
- 39:43Speaker 6: You know, if we keep electing the same people, we're
- 39:45Speaker 6: going to get the same results. And I'm not I
- 39:48Speaker 6: don't walk on water by any means, but i am
- 39:52Speaker 6: very outspoken and i'm very I'm in your face. I mean,
- 39:57Speaker 6: if I see something that's not just I'm going to
- 39:59Speaker 6: talk about and I'm gonna raise hell over it. And
- 40:03Speaker 6: so they're right, the community needs to get together. One
- 40:07Speaker 6: person's death from an overdose could be anybody's. Yeah, And
- 40:11Speaker 6: I know they talk about how well that guy was
- 40:14Speaker 6: a drug addict, or he's done drugs or whatever. Well,
- 40:17Speaker 6: first of all, I'd like to ask who in this
- 40:19Speaker 6: state hasn't done drugs at least once. There's not very
- 40:22Speaker 6: many people overall. And it's not a matter of whether
- 40:24Speaker 6: you do drugs once, twice, three times, ten times. It's
- 40:27Speaker 6: a matter of if somebody put something in there that
- 40:30Speaker 6: you weren't aware of that's gonna kill you.
- 40:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it's poisoning.
- 40:35Speaker 6: And it's more about for these some of these people's
- 40:40Speaker 6: more about money. If I can get you addicted to something,
- 40:43Speaker 6: I'm gonna make money. And it's a game all across
- 40:46Speaker 6: the board. McDonald's does it with their food flavors, Coca
- 40:49Speaker 6: Cola does it with I mean, Coca Cola used to
- 40:51Speaker 6: put cocaine in their coked right. You know, it's it's
- 40:55Speaker 6: the way it works. And if we can educate each
- 40:58Speaker 6: other and say, look, going down this road is going
- 41:00Speaker 6: to result in this, we gotta we got to educate
- 41:03Speaker 6: our kids from day one in school all the way through,
- 41:07Speaker 6: and then we've got to back up the law enforcement.
- 41:09Speaker 6: We've got to support them we've got to thank them,
- 41:12Speaker 6: and we've got to find judges that will put the
- 41:16Speaker 6: people that are doing this away so that the cops
- 41:18Speaker 6: don't have to keep arresting the same people over and
- 41:20Speaker 6: over again and take up their time and effort off
- 41:25Speaker 6: of other things that are important.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Amen. That was beautifully said. You know, I, Bob, I've
- 41:34Speaker 2: got a little girl, and I've had friends. I've had
- 41:38Speaker 2: people that are school teachers say to me, Man, you
- 41:43Speaker 2: got to be paying attention. Don't live in a bubble.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Don't think that it's not gonna that your your kid's
- 41:51Speaker 2: not going to be faced with this in some capacity.
- 41:54Speaker 2: You better if if if you got your head in
- 41:57Speaker 2: the sand and you think that they all is all
- 42:00Speaker 2: is good and clear and you don't have anything to
- 42:03Speaker 2: worry about, you're missing the boat here. Man. Keep your
- 42:07Speaker 2: freaking eyes wide open, is what I've been told as
- 42:11Speaker 2: a dad.
- 42:12Speaker 6: That's great advice. And I'm a grandfather. So I raised
- 42:15Speaker 6: eight kids and thank god, none of them got into drugs.
- 42:19Speaker 6: But I have twelve grandkids and I have this conversation
- 42:24Speaker 6: with them every time I see them. I have the
- 42:27Speaker 6: conversation when they start school. We talk about the drugs.
- 42:30Speaker 6: We talk about the alcohol. We talk about all this stuff,
- 42:34Speaker 6: and then I make them swear with me, a pinky
- 42:36Speaker 6: swear you're not going to get into this stuff. And
- 42:39Speaker 6: then every time I see them, I interview them and
- 42:42Speaker 6: I say, are you keeping your promise to me? You
- 42:45Speaker 6: have no idea as a parent or as a grandparent
- 42:48Speaker 6: how much influence you have over your kids. And that's
- 42:51Speaker 6: what it takes. You've got to have these conversations because
- 42:55Speaker 6: if you don't, somebody else is going to.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Bob, what you just said is the beginning of the beginning,
- 43:04Speaker 2: according to josh Joshua Lake of destroying the market.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Yes, that's the very that's the root of it right there,
- 43:15Speaker 3: That is the very beginning.
- 43:16Speaker 4: I'm so glad you just said that.
- 43:20Speaker 2: That's a SoundBite right there. I mean, that was perfectly said. Bob. Listen,
- 43:26Speaker 2: you got a microphone that's live and waiting for you
- 43:30Speaker 2: anytime you want over here.
- 43:31Speaker 6: Man, Well, I appreciate that.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Thanks for joining us this morning. We appreciate you so much.
- 43:38Speaker 6: Yeah, thank you for inviting me, and good luck and
- 43:40Speaker 6: let me know what I can do to help out.
- 43:42Speaker 6: I'm I'm a loud speaker. I have a loud voice,
- 43:45Speaker 6: and I have of you know, strong opinions about this,
- 43:47Speaker 6: But I have kids that I love. I have neighbors
- 43:50Speaker 6: kids that I love. We got to work together.
- 43:53Speaker 5: To stop this.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Wow. Thanks Bob, all right, take it easy. Look that's
- 43:59Speaker 2: the kind of a guy right there. You want your
- 44:01Speaker 2: corner man.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Yeah, oh exactly, you know that's these are the people
- 44:06Speaker 3: we got.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Has Josh had a chance to meet up.
- 44:10Speaker 3: I don't know if they brush passed on, you know,
- 44:13Speaker 3: during Saturday's event. They may have, but they should.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Know what you're you're doing, Vinnie. Is you're you're you're
- 44:23Speaker 2: doing exactly what you said you were going to do. Yeah,
- 44:27Speaker 2: while you were grieving. Yeah, and I heard, I heard,
- 44:33Speaker 2: I overheard, without you knowing, someone asked you a question
- 44:42Speaker 2: during this event Saturday. They asked you, have you had
- 44:48Speaker 2: a chance to fully grieve yet the loss of your son.
- 44:54Speaker 2: I admittedly did not hear your answer, so I asked you,
- 45:00Speaker 2: have you had a chance or have you just dived
- 45:03Speaker 2: in headfirst to everything that you know?
- 45:06Speaker 3: I think I skipped past the grieving process because I
- 45:12Speaker 3: got myself so involved in you know what I'm what
- 45:16Speaker 3: I'm doing forward and I kind of made it a
- 45:18Speaker 3: point after the funeral, I you know, I wanted to
- 45:22Speaker 3: put sadness to rest there, and and I didn't think
- 45:27Speaker 3: my son wanted me to be sad. So you know,
- 45:31Speaker 3: I've tried to sort of skip past that whole process,
- 45:37Speaker 3: and and I've been so busy, so it's been you know,
- 45:41Speaker 3: I don't even have time to think about much like that.
- 45:44Speaker 2: But you're not letting this go though, You're not going
- 45:48Speaker 2: to let this slip off your hook.
- 45:50Speaker 3: No, I mean, I'm like, I'm working on the next phase.
- 45:58Speaker 3: There's a lot to what I am trying to do
- 46:01Speaker 3: versus maybe a traditional nonprofit that's focused on one thing. Sure,
- 46:09Speaker 3: I'm kind of focused on all of them, and I'm
- 46:12Speaker 3: trying to bring all of the everything is important, not
- 46:16Speaker 3: just the law enforcement, not just the treatment centers, not
- 46:19Speaker 3: just the change in the laws. All of them together
- 46:23Speaker 3: collectively are important.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Sure, And.
- 46:29Speaker 3: So for what I am trying to do, I'm trying
- 46:31Speaker 3: to do massive amounts of things. Changing law, for one,
- 46:35Speaker 3: is just not something you do in a week's time.
- 46:38Speaker 3: It's something you you work on you know, might take
- 46:41Speaker 3: a year, right, So I get the long term things
- 46:44Speaker 3: I'm working on and the short term things. But one
- 46:48Speaker 3: of the short term things I did kind of want
- 46:51Speaker 3: to touch on somewhat today, please, And that's the after
- 46:56Speaker 3: treatment programs, of which there is none or very little,
- 47:03Speaker 3: I guess, and if there are, I'm not aware of them.
- 47:07Speaker 3: I mean, I guess. The only one that we could
- 47:10Speaker 3: speak of that's set up kind of is the narcotics
- 47:14Speaker 3: anonymous meetings that people can go to, which are really important,
- 47:19Speaker 3: but there's not enough of them in close locations. And
- 47:21Speaker 3: plus a lot of times people going through this don't
- 47:25Speaker 3: even have a driver's license or anything to get to meeting.
- 47:27Speaker 3: So yeah, it's kind of tough. But in my son's case,
- 47:33Speaker 3: I think one of our biggest flaws we didn't even
- 47:36Speaker 3: know about was when they're clean, your defenses go down.
- 47:41Speaker 2: You know, like your guard goes down.
- 47:44Speaker 4: Yeah, you think it's over. And that is a.
- 47:50Speaker 3: Very deceptive, tricky thing as for the family, because your
- 47:55Speaker 3: guard goes down, you don't know. And those relapses are
- 47:59Speaker 3: what Jeff really always kill people because they think they
- 48:02Speaker 3: can take the same amount of drugs they normally do
- 48:07Speaker 3: and they haven't been taken drugs for a while, and
- 48:10Speaker 3: so they're even more at a very weak and deceptible
- 48:15Speaker 3: point at that time. If they do have a relapse
- 48:17Speaker 3: to overdose. Yeah, and then you combine the fetanyl and
- 48:22Speaker 3: it's it's.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Just a how long was your son cleaned for about
- 48:27Speaker 2: two years, okay, and relapsed in.
- 48:31Speaker 4: May, Yeah, the sixteenth, I believe.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Took a pill.
- 48:37Speaker 4: One one pill, you know what.
- 48:40Speaker 3: He didn't know what was fal obviously, but yeah, but
- 48:43Speaker 3: that's all it takes.
- 48:45Speaker 4: There's one pill, you.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Know, it's and he was gone in a matter of what.
- 48:49Speaker 3: Minutes, you know, minutes. He purchased it on the street
- 48:56Speaker 3: right where he was living, went upstairs and it ran
- 48:59Speaker 3: off No South Royalty at the law school graduation.
- 49:05Speaker 2: During the law school graduation.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Yeah, you walked out onto the street, bought the pill
- 49:11Speaker 3: basically right at the location and the graduation from the
- 49:15Speaker 3: law enforcement Yeah, law law enforcement everywhere, and went upstairs,
- 49:21Speaker 3: took that one pill and was dead minutes later.
- 49:24Speaker 5: You know.
- 49:24Speaker 3: It's so that's the relapse is what we have to
- 49:29Speaker 3: concentrate on a lot. And so I've been talking to
- 49:34Speaker 3: a few different organizations and people that are doing other
- 49:38Speaker 3: things and what I'm what I'm trying to set up
- 49:42Speaker 3: on the website eventually, which I haven't been ready to
- 49:45Speaker 3: do up until I think we're getting close now is
- 49:48Speaker 3: to have.
- 49:50Speaker 4: An area on there for.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Not only the treatment centers, but after treatment programs. So
- 49:58Speaker 3: when you get out of the treatment, there's already something set.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Up for you.
- 50:03Speaker 3: And and so it's not just to go there, get
- 50:06Speaker 3: clean and then oh well, now you're back on the
- 50:09Speaker 3: streets without a job. You likely don't you likely don't
- 50:12Speaker 3: have a driver's license, you know, and you've got to
- 50:15Speaker 3: keep your head together, you know in that kind of
- 50:18Speaker 3: it's that yep, that must be even more tough than
- 50:21Speaker 3: the treatment itself. And uh, and we don't want people
- 50:26Speaker 3: that are getting out of that treatment to be sitting
- 50:28Speaker 3: around not doing anything and just thinking about things, you know.
- 50:34Speaker 4: So I've talked with Ryan Hearn, Brian Hearn.
- 50:40Speaker 2: He was just on the air with me last week.
- 50:42Speaker 3: With the VCA, the Vermont Construction Academy, And.
- 50:48Speaker 2: If anyone missed that interview, you got to go back
- 50:51Speaker 2: to last Wednesday and check that out. It's unbelievable.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I mean, me and him are very early on in conversation,
- 50:57Speaker 3: but I I think there's opportunity for his nonprofit to
- 51:02Speaker 3: help with people that are getting out of treatment, to
- 51:05Speaker 3: teach him a trade and you know, have them learn
- 51:08Speaker 3: something that maybe it'll change their lives, you know, just
- 51:14Speaker 3: to have you know, I'm out there working and making
- 51:17Speaker 3: money and I'm doing something. And plus they're gonna be
- 51:20Speaker 3: with a group of people that are you know, men
- 51:23Speaker 3: like on the construction site. I mean I think that
- 51:25Speaker 3: would be like absolutely crucial.
- 51:29Speaker 4: Hopefully he's he's gonna me and him can work on that.
- 51:33Speaker 2: Here's another layer in peeling back the onion here, yeah,
- 51:38Speaker 2: in destroying the.
- 51:39Speaker 3: Market exactly right, exactly, And we have to do lots
- 51:44Speaker 3: of these different things. And then there's Rex Thompson, who's
- 51:49Speaker 3: can you help me with his charity name.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Rex Thompson is one of the most amazing guys, excellent
- 51:56Speaker 2: that you will ever meet. He is so dialed in
- 52:01Speaker 2: to helping kids be better in their lives through martial
- 52:08Speaker 2: arts and many many other things. He is going to
- 52:18Speaker 2: help you so much with what you're going to do,
- 52:24Speaker 2: trust me. Resilient Defense is his new institute. Yeah it's
- 52:33Speaker 2: starting out real small, but let me tell you it
- 52:38Speaker 2: has already grown and he is really changing lives. Resilient
- 52:45Speaker 2: Defense Institute already backed up and supported by Fuji Sports
- 52:54Speaker 2: and so many others including the United Fighting Arts Institute.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Get on their Facebook page, follow them. You can be
- 53:03Speaker 2: a monthly subscriber too. I'll drop the link right here.
- 53:08Speaker 2: But there's another guy who with what he's doing, is
- 53:14Speaker 2: changing lives at the root level and destroying the market.
- 53:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and I mean I haven't had a chance to
- 53:24Speaker 3: talk to him in depth about this, but I think
- 53:27Speaker 3: there's an opportunity for him to help. Actually, I know
- 53:32Speaker 3: the perfect candidate right now, a friend of mine who's
- 53:36Speaker 3: recently gotten clean and sober. He's a very physical guy,
- 53:40Speaker 3: and part of his problem is anger and stuff, and
- 53:45Speaker 3: I think somebody like Rex would would be like so helpful.
- 53:49Speaker 4: For him right now.
- 53:50Speaker 3: I mean that's just one that I know of off
- 53:53Speaker 3: the top of my head, but there's probably several different
- 53:57Speaker 3: individuals that maybe could use his help coming out of treatment.
- 54:00Speaker 3: And again, this is the same thing to have an
- 54:04Speaker 3: adult male man, yeah, to help mentor you as I
- 54:09Speaker 3: think crucial.
- 54:10Speaker 4: I mean I really do.
- 54:12Speaker 2: One of the performers that was there was Cult staff. Yeah,
- 54:18Speaker 2: an amazing, amazing performer. And I'm gonna see if we
- 54:23Speaker 2: can connect with connect in with him this morning. No
- 54:28Speaker 2: he's not he's not available. That's too bad. I'm calling
- 54:31Speaker 2: him right now. I mean all of these guys Kla Yeah,
- 54:39Speaker 2: Kla Mac guy out of Rutland. Unbelievable what I I
- 54:46Speaker 2: was so inspired by so many of these these young
- 54:51Speaker 2: guys that were there, that were performing. Their message was amazing.
- 54:59Speaker 2: The their relatability was extremely powerful. Their lyrics supported their message,
- 55:09Speaker 2: supported who they are, where they've come from, where they've been,
- 55:14Speaker 2: but more importantly, how they're going, how they're pushing forward.
- 55:18Speaker 2: But relatability is key being a good person, understanding the
- 55:27Speaker 2: life that some people have led. I think we've got
- 55:30Speaker 2: cultsaff with us. Good good morning, my friend. How are
- 55:35Speaker 2: you good man? I'm sitting right next to Vinnie right now.
- 55:38Speaker 2: We got you live on aired out You guys, I'm
- 55:43Speaker 2: sure you just missed it. I was just talking about you.
- 55:45Speaker 2: You guys blew my mind. And even for folks that
- 55:51Speaker 2: were there that aren't necessarily rappers or love that style
- 55:59Speaker 2: of music, our message was so profound it resonated with
- 56:04Speaker 2: everyone that was there.
- 56:05Speaker 5: My brother, thank you, thank you. I worked hard to
- 56:09Speaker 5: have it be more than just aimless and more of
- 56:14Speaker 5: a message.
- 56:16Speaker 7: That everybody could understand, because that's what it takes to
- 56:19Speaker 7: relate to certain styles.
- 56:21Speaker 2: And where are you from?
- 56:24Speaker 5: Originally I'm from Worcester, Massachusetts.
- 56:27Speaker 2: Okay, and you've been in Vermont for how long?
- 56:30Speaker 5: About a year now?
- 56:31Speaker 2: Okay? What was your life like growing up in Worcester?
- 56:37Speaker 5: It was rough.
- 56:38Speaker 7: I grew up in the projects with a six sister
- 56:43Speaker 7: and it was just hard all around, you know, dad
- 56:47Speaker 7: in and out and didn't really have that stability that
- 56:53Speaker 7: I needed.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Did you get yeah? Did you get an into drugs?
- 57:02Speaker 7: A little bit, but nothing too crazy because I had
- 57:06Speaker 7: to grow up really fast where I was, so I
- 57:10Speaker 7: understood right from wrong in the beginning, probably around eleven
- 57:14Speaker 7: twelve years old. But now I don't even I don't.
- 57:21Speaker 7: I don't even smoke or anything, you know what I mean.
- 57:25Speaker 7: I have a beer here and there, but everything turns
- 57:32Speaker 7: around eventually.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Do you have any kids?
- 57:36Speaker 5: Two daughters?
- 57:37Speaker 2: What are you? How old are they and what do
- 57:39Speaker 2: you say to them?
- 57:40Speaker 5: One is three and one is four?
- 57:44Speaker 2: What do you say to them?
- 57:47Speaker 5: What do you mean?
- 57:48Speaker 6: Like?
- 57:48Speaker 2: Well, what's the message that you you push on your kids?
- 57:53Speaker 5: You could do anything you want as long as you
- 57:56Speaker 5: put your mind to it, and safety instability. He is key.
- 58:02Speaker 2: Did you know Vincent?
- 58:07Speaker 5: Not personally yet?
- 58:08Speaker 7: I so Kla had told me about it and had
- 58:14Speaker 7: reached out to me, and I loved the movement that
- 58:17Speaker 7: was going on, and I had seen footage from the
- 58:21Speaker 7: last show that got thrown and I think it was
- 58:25Speaker 7: just awesome all around.
- 58:26Speaker 5: So I figured, if I.
- 58:28Speaker 7: Can come and help make an impact and bring people
- 58:31Speaker 7: together and be a part of that.
- 58:32Speaker 2: But i'd love to have you lost anyone to drugs?
- 58:38Speaker 5: Yes?
- 58:40Speaker 2: Who is that?
- 58:43Speaker 7: One of my best friends? What happened a couple of
- 58:47Speaker 7: years ago, just overdose and it wasn't pills. But you know,
- 58:57Speaker 7: it's relative. It's the same grievances all around, you know,
- 59:01Speaker 7: regardless of substance.
- 59:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's we got a lot of work too. Now, Yeah,
- 59:13Speaker 2: when did you start rapping?
- 59:16Speaker 7: I was always musically inclined as a as a kid,
- 59:19Speaker 7: I would write and uh. Then I started getting into
- 59:23Speaker 7: music around twelve and thirteen, and then I started taking
- 59:28Speaker 7: it serious, probably when I.
- 59:32Speaker 5: Was sixteen to nineteen.
- 59:35Speaker 7: And then that's when I learned that I wanted to
- 59:39Speaker 7: teach myself how to do it all start to finish.
- 59:42Speaker 7: So that's when I started building the studio and diving
- 59:46Speaker 7: deeper and deeper and deeper, and the learning never stops
- 59:48Speaker 7: after that.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Where are you hoping to take this.
- 59:58Speaker 5: Pretty much wherever.
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: You know, I have no no fixated goal, and as
- 1:00:05Speaker 7: an end result, just the connections. And I'd love to
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: make music for the people that felt misunderstood their whole
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: life too, because I was always misunderstood.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: I have fourse hissters.
- 1:00:17Speaker 7: I'm the only boy, so I was the black cheep,
- 1:00:22Speaker 7: the last one to be heard. But when I started
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: making music, you know, they wanted to listen to it,
- 1:00:30Speaker 7: like my family, and now they understand things that they didn't.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: I gotta tell you, man, I sat and watched you.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: I watched you like a hawk. I watched the way
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: you interacted with the crowd, the message that was in
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: your lyrics, and it was really powerful. Man.
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: We hope the best for you. You're already doing great things.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: You got a beautiful family, You've got an incredible life
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: in front of you. And I know Vinnie wants to
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: thank you for being there.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, definitely, thank you that so many people thought
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: he was amazing.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: Yeah, I appreciate it.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: I appreciate it too.
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: Thank you for letting giving me the opportunity to come
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: and be a part of everything.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: And you're going to be part of the Music Is
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: Life Fest. This weekend. Am I right, yes, Bellows Falls?
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: Can you tell us any more about that?
- 1:01:40Speaker 5: So it's this weekend there, there's camping there.
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: It's a big open field and I'm trying to think
- 1:01:53Speaker 7: because it's a it's a little different dynamic than it
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: was at the last show that he had put on
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: because there's family activities from volleyball to basketball to water sports. Yeah,
- 1:02:08Speaker 7: so it's not just a music oriented like it's all
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: aspects for kids, adults and all different types of personalities.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Yeah, you've got to be eighteen plus camp unless you're
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: with a parent. No outside alcohol I'm seeing here. But
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: it's open to all ages, which I think is amazing.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: You guys have such a great message. You're gonna hear
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: a couple of f pomps that are dropped. I mean,
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: my god, but I mean, you know, uh, that's just
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: part of that's just part of the all of the art,
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: that's part of the culture. What you guys are doing
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: is incredible, man. And you're again the message behind your
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: lyrics is what is so so incredible? You guys are artists.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: It is beautiful to hear what it is. And I
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: say artists, but in some ways, let me say this, Vinny.
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: These guys are preachers, yeah, and they're they're basically contract
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: concentrating on the younger crowd for the most part.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: And that's another level of you're killing the market.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: And you guys are doing that. Man, that's what we
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: need to do. Brother. You know that that there's a
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: market here in Vermont for drugs, and Springfield knows it,
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: so does Hartford, Sods Albany, so does New York. We
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: have to do better. We have to make Vermont not
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: the place to buy and sell.
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: Yep. And if you change the narrative early, then there
- 1:03:47Speaker 5: won't be no narrative done. Road.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Yeah, doing great stuff, dude. I hope I get a
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: chance to meet you again.
- 1:03:56Speaker 5: Wow. I hope so too.
- 1:03:58Speaker 7: It was a blast and all of you guys and
- 1:04:01Speaker 7: everyone there, that was one of the most fun surprise
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: shows that I've ever done.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Thanks brother, Thanks for hopping on with us.
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: This morning, of course, man, thank you for having me.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: Great guy. I just enjoyed that so much. Vinny, this
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: is what this is what we need. We need. We
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: need the youth to be part of this. We don't
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: need a bunch of old guys up on up on
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: a stage trying to put push a message.
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: Well, some of the old guys we had on the
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: stage last night. But but but I know what you mean,
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: You know, it's gonna take more than just us older
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: people to be involved.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Big shout out to Jay, who is your nephew. J R.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Buco has a pot cast called Let's Hear Your Journey. Yeah,
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: he's just starting out, he's just getting going here. We
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: want to start telling people about this and directing folks
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: over to Jay's podcast so that he can get some
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: more followers and get some more traction and start chipping
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: away at this.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: Yeah, can you put out his.
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: I am right, yeah, yeah, absolutely, yeah, and he's listening
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: Jay got a hold of me before the event and
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: he was like, I need so many followers to go live.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: And I was like, all right, I'm gonna push this out.
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: So I pushed it out to a bunch of people
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: that you know on on my social sites and he
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: got his followers he needed before the event, which made.
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: Him pretty happy. Yeah.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: But yeah, he's great with the bands too, Rick Reddington
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: and Tough Love. They really liked Jay and did some
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: pictures with him after the show, but.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: Couldn't drop his his his page right here, not only
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: in the link, but also I'm going to show everybody
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: what it looks like because he's just a He's just
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: a freaking great guy. I mean, I've I've known him
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: for a long time. Now here it is. My name
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: is Jay r Abusio. I'm from the Randolph area. I'm
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: looking to start a podcast because everybody has a story
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: to tell and deserves to tell it, and I'd love
- 1:06:32Speaker 2: to give people the opportunity for this. So please give
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: him a follow, give him a like, give him a comment,
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: a share reaction, and be part of what he has
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: going on right there, super guy. And I think his
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: first guest was Rex Thompson.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I think it was.
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: It was so he's a good dude. Hopefully we're going
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: to get some some momentum here with what we're doing
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: in Vermont and maybe what we're not doing enough of
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: when it comes to getting a grip on what's happening
- 1:07:22Speaker 2: with drug use in our state. We have this is you,
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: and you know it's an uphill.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: I think it's mostly a matter of organization. Currently there's
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: like no one person that's organizing things correctly and you're wrong.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: There is one person and it's you.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Well, I'm very early and trying to do that.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, but you're the guy.
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: It could be.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: I mean no, it's not could be. You are the guy.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: You're the one that's doing this. Mh. You are. And
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: I know it, and so does Josh.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: And I and I think with the right team of people,
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: I think we're gonna make a big difference. And and
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: so what I'm trying to do is put the team together.
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: The and I already have like so far, an amazingly
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: good team of people, but like adding adding the Ryan
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Aaron and the Rex Thompsons, the world and and all
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: them other ones. More police enforcement, more politicians, you know,
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: and uh, more musicians and more shows.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: Uh.
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: I think I think it's gonna work. I really do.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: I think we're gonna get new law in the next session.
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: I feel it.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: I hope.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: And and the new law has to have mandatory sentence
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: and and and the judges can't have some loophole.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Way of getting around it.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: And I think once we have that established here in Vermont,
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: that's gonna change a lot on the law enforcement. En
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: I mean, if these individuals that are selling these poisons
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: need to be considered a threat to society, so there
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: should be like very strict bailary requirements. And you know,
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: if not, no bail and and if we pull that
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: person off the street quickly, Uh, it could save lives.
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the things we have to do.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Yeah. You you have a lot of moving parts here.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: You have a lot of phone calls that you're you're making,
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: plus you're working full time at the same time.
- 1:09:47Speaker 4: Uh.
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: But between politicians, you're speaking with law enforcement, divided sky
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: setting up another event soon, another concert. Uh, you got
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: a ship ton going on, Vinny I do. I'm not
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: sure how you're you're doing it, man, but you are.
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: And you had really an incredible event. Thank you for
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: what you did for the couple hundred people that were there.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: Thank you for the pig roast, all the free food,
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: thank you for the incredible music that filled so many hearts.
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: Great entertainment. To see the Gully Boys up there.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: Yeah, show at the end of the closing.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: To see them with both they.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: Fire on the mountain with fire.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: I never even I never even heard that song played
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: that well in my life.
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: Honestly, I'm saying the same thing. We're both sitting there shocked.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: We're both sitting there, You and I were sitting next
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: to each other, and I screamed out. Fire in the
- 1:10:56Speaker 2: Mountain started playing it, and it was out of body,
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: out of body.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: Experience, the best I ever heard the song played in
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: my entire life. Better than You're Grateful Dead, I believe
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: you know what.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: You had a big smile on your face the whole time.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: Part of it was that the music was incredible, but
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: part of it was I think, Vinny and I don't
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: want to speak for you, but it looked like you
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: just felt so much love. You met this incredible woman.
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, tell us about that.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I'm glad you reminded me about that. Like
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: at our events, there was a lot of special moments,
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: but one of them was a lady. She messaged me
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: before the event. She said, I'm deaf, I can't hear,
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: but I don't want to come support your event. And
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: so I'm like, all right, fine, that's great, And she
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: actually showed up and she come up to me, and
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: I don't know sign language, so had to kind of
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: communicate difficultly and h but I figured out she wanted
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: to go down to the river, so I brought her
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: down to the river, and then afterwards, towards the end
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: of the show, when the goalie boys and and and
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: both are got up there. She started dancing and having
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: a great time. And she go up to me and said,
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: I can feel it. She said, I can feel it,
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: even though she couldn't hear it, She's like, I can
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: feel it.
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: And then they let her go up on the stage.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: And play the congass.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was. It was a special moment.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: You saw it, you were there, you like.
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: She was so so so happy, and and look at
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: her the vision of her and Jamie dancing together. Oh yeah,
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: it's beautiful. I even forgot that part.
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: Now her and Jamie are friends and she wants to
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: come down and go to the river all the time, and.
- 1:12:54Speaker 2: Look at that. It's amazing.
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: Yeah. No, there was a lot of love there last night.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, or Saturday night.
- 1:13:03Speaker 4: Or that's what I meant. Yeah, I'm so tired. It
- 1:13:07Speaker 4: still feels like last night to me.
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: I'm sure, man, I'm sure. Listen, you compartmentalize all of
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: this stuff. Take one day at a time, one hour
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: at a time. You're doing a great job organizing everything
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: and keeping you're juggling a lot of things right now.
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: You're putting a lot of different hats on your head, Vinnie. Yeah,
- 1:13:36Speaker 2: take it easy, brother.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: Well I'm almost there.
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: You know, I got I got an event i'd like
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: to do in the future. I'm not not officially breaking
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: it here, but August twenty one is venton al awareness yep, nationwide.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: So nothing's in stone right now, but I would like
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: to do something.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: For that, Okay, And if you do, you're gonna let
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: me know. Oh absolutely, and I'll let everybody know.
- 1:14:09Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:14:09Speaker 2: All right, so possibly another event similar to what you
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: just did.
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: I'm out nine sure that date's solid, but I have
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: to talk to the different musicians and your chat holl
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: is differend if he's listening out there, check your schedule
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: for that twenty first or twenty second, because the next
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: one's going to be a two day show, okay.
- 1:14:32Speaker 2: Wow, you had a lot of artists that we're trying
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: to squeeze in in a ton.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: That's why we got to do two days the next one.
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: And if I already have the tent and stage and
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: everything set up the next day is logically absolutely we
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: should do.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: One the next day free camping, free parking, free food,
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: free music.
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: It's free everything at our advents. It's because of the economy,
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: you know. It's wow, it's.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: Not Amazinglyny, We thank you so much. And my buddy
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: Andy just had such a blast, so happy.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Andy was. He had one heck of a
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: time there dancing with all the women.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: Oh my god, he had so much fun. And Rick
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: is Rick has just joined us a Rick Reddington. Oh excellent,
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: he's commented just a second ago. It was a beautiful gathering.
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: So there's another guy we got to get.
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: I would love to get Rick in here.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: He in some way he wants to be part of
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: the nonprofit and maybe take some of the weight off
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: of me being a music festival promoter, which I'm not.
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: I mean, I do it, and I do try to
- 1:15:44Speaker 3: do my best, but that's not really my expertise. So
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: but he also hasn't a wonderful idea for after treatment.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: He takes in lots of rescue dogs and and and
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: I think he has an idea. I don't want to
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: speak for.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Him on that, no, but you were telling me this.
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: I think he has an idea with the rescue dogs
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: for after treatment or maybe even during treatment, bringing the
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: dogs in.
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: For people to help cope.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: And I don't think there's a better remedy for anything
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: for any of that planet than a dog.
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, nothing can show love more like a
- 1:16:25Speaker 3: doghead nothing.
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: No disrespect to the cats listening. I'm just saying, yeah.
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: So I'm hoping that was another one, you know, like
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: like Ryan and like Rex. You know they that's funny
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: Ryan rec and Rick.
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: I guess we got thet the covered listen. Rick just
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: said yes, JD, Chad Hollister and I want to do
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: a show. So I didn't really get a chance to
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: chat with Rich. I didn't get a chance to chat
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: with with Rick at all.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: He was in a hurry too. He had to do
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: three shows that day. Unreal, and he showed up to
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: our event when he's already.
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: Booked twice animal.
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: It's amazing, big art.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: But Rick, one of the things I wanted to say
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: to he is that Chad and I have known each
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: other for a long long time. We've done so many
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: things together. I've promoted him so much. He's been on
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: the air here a gazillion times in the last eight years,
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: and I just love the guy and I don't know
- 1:17:29Speaker 2: what else to say. I don't know if he'll be
- 1:17:31Speaker 2: able to bring a ten piece band with him like
- 1:17:33Speaker 2: he does with a full horn section. But the guy
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: really gets it. Chad really gets it. And if Rick,
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: if you can help me threaten Chad, you know, and
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: you can, Rick, you can make up anything you want
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: about me to to get Chad there. But we've got
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: to make that happen. I'm only see, I don't see.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Here's the thing about these crazy musicians. If you don't
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: play a guitar or if we're an instrument, then you're
- 1:18:10Speaker 2: not in the circle. But if you're in the circle,
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: also known as Rick, then you have more clout, You
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: got more leverage.
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: I think Rick has a pretty big circle.
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: Rick has a massive circle. But he's in and Chad
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: knows me, he knows. I can't sing. I can't. I
- 1:18:33Speaker 2: can't do anything other than threatening him. But we got
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: to get Chad part of this man.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's part of building. We're in such early beginning
- 1:18:47Speaker 3: part right now.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: And I'm telling you, I'm telling you right now, Rick,
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: if I get one beer in me, I will get
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: on the kungas. I mean one one beer, I will
- 1:19:00Speaker 2: get on the congas and rip it to shreds. Anyway,
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: he says, we're in the circle. Thank God. I was
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: hoping that he was going to say that, dude, you're
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: kicking ask man, Vinnie, You're just you're doing it. You're
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: doing it. Yeah, all right, Oh, I know you're doing it, dude.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: It's we're moving lightning fast. I think in my opinion,
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: and I think when you see the growth by the
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: end of this year, how big we're going to grow.
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, it will be amazing.
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, quick note here our community calendar, which is
