Melissa in the Morning: Homestead Act in Stratford
Stratford homeowners may qualify for property tax relief under a new homestead exemption. The program reduces the taxable assessment of eligible owner-occupied homes by 35 percent. We wanted to make sure Stratford residents understood why to fill out the application, who qualifies and how Stratford even pulled this off. We got the information from Mayor David Chess.
