  Speaker 1: Let's dive into it Acts chapter eleven, and we're gonna
• 8:32
  Speaker 1: read it all the way from verse twenty seven to
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: verse thirty. Now we're talking about the relief in Judah,
• 8:43
  Speaker 1: the relief of Judah. Now let me give you a
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: little background first. You know, we've been going through the
• 8:48
  Speaker 1: Book of Acts. We just went through Acts chapter ten.
• 8:53
  Speaker 1: It took us a while to get through that. That
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: was a great chapter, some great scriptures. So all the
• 9:00
  Speaker 1: fact that the apostle Peter went to the house of
• 9:05
  Speaker 1: a gentile believer in Centurion Canelius, who was a devout
• 9:10
  Speaker 1: man unto the Lord. And as Peter went, which his
• 9:16
  Speaker 1: mind was blown right, God totally changed his theology because
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: they thought salvation was only for the Jews at the time.
• 9:25
  Speaker 1: But God was showing them that he was doing a
• 9:28
  Speaker 1: new thing. The gentiles have always been a part of
• 9:31
  Speaker 1: the plan. And so now the blessings, salvation, a relationship
• 9:37
  Speaker 1: with God, all that is opened up to the gentile believers.
• 9:41
  Speaker 1: They were touched with the same holy spirits, the same
• 9:45
  Speaker 1: move of God. You can say that the gentiles had
• 9:48
  Speaker 1: their own Pentecost like they did in Jerusalem. So God
• 9:55
  Speaker 1: is moving, God is breaking down walls. So this is
• 9:58
  Speaker 1: why it's perfect for Martin Luther king Day, because we're
• 10:01
  Speaker 1: breaking down barriers and we are loving one another as
• 10:07
  Speaker 1: brothers and sisters. And so this is something that will
• 10:12
  Speaker 1: happen once you open up your heart to Christ, and
• 10:14
  Speaker 1: once a gospel, the true Gospel of Christ is preached
• 10:19
  Speaker 1: amongst our brothers and our sisters. Right there's got to
• 10:23
  Speaker 1: be a changed life. There's got to be the power
• 10:25
  Speaker 1: of the Holy Spirit, and that I release the power,
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: the presence of the Holy Spirit to convert souls, even
• 10:33
  Speaker 1: right now, even in the midst of this parade, Amen, hallelujah.
• 10:40
  Speaker 1: And so now before all this, when we were talking
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: about Stephen earlier in this chapter, or should I say
• 10:52
  Speaker 1: Stephan when he was mortyared, he was stoned to death,
• 10:56
  Speaker 1: there was a practice that happened in the early Church
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: during that time. They were selling their property and they
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: were giving the proceeds to the apostles at the time.
• 11:12
  Speaker 1: And so now we see something happening. We see the
• 11:16
  Speaker 1: prophetic spirit working in the new Church. And now there's
• 11:22
  Speaker 1: going to be a damine that is going to affect
• 11:26
  Speaker 1: the whole entire world. And see how the church works,
• 11:31
  Speaker 1: see how the prophetic ministry works. The prophetic ministry is
• 11:35
  Speaker 1: still important for the church today. And my prayer is
• 11:40
  Speaker 1: that the pastors will not try to shun this gift
• 11:44
  Speaker 1: or ignore it, but allow the prophets to minister freely
• 11:49
  Speaker 1: as God intended them to. So we're going to see
• 11:54
  Speaker 1: the work right here of a prophet in these verses.
• 11:59
  Speaker 1: We're going to read so verse twenty seven. And in
• 12:02
  Speaker 1: those days, profits came from Jerusalem to Antioch. Now here's
• 12:09
  Speaker 1: a bridge. The Antioch was made up of mostly gentiles.
• 12:12
  Speaker 1: It was multicultural, and prophets came from Jerusalem. Now Jerusalem,
• 12:18
  Speaker 1: you can say, is the mother Church, right, Jerusalem is
• 12:23
  Speaker 1: where it all started. Now twenty eight. Then one of
• 12:28
  Speaker 1: them named Agabus stood up and showed by the Holy
• 12:35
  Speaker 1: Spirit that there was going to be a great famine
• 12:38
  Speaker 1: throughout all the world. Now that is amazing. That is
• 12:43
  Speaker 1: a huge prophetic word. And can you imagine all the world.
• 12:48
  Speaker 1: Just think about it. Think about the different countries of today.
• 13:00
  Speaker 1: Countries existed back then two thousand years ago. Right. Just
• 13:04
  Speaker 1: think about the different countries that are lush with farms
• 13:12
  Speaker 1: and fruits and vegetables and just plentiful with food in abundance.
• 13:20
  Speaker 1: Think about the rainforest, think about all the apple orches
• 13:25
  Speaker 1: of the world. Just think about all of these food
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: producing nations, and then this word comes at all the
• 13:34
  Speaker 1: whole world is going to have a famine, Like all
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: this stuff is going to dry up and be gone.
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: If it happened back then, what makes us think that
• 13:45
  Speaker 1: it won't happen today. And I've heard a lot of
• 13:49
  Speaker 1: prophetic words telling us to prepare, to prepare to store
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: up food, our gas, our water, because ain't no telling,
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: especially in the times we're living in. How many of
• 14:03
  Speaker 1: y'all believe that we are living in the last days,
• 14:06
  Speaker 1: So we need to hear the prophetic word for today.
• 14:10
  Speaker 1: If the Lord spoke, then, if the Holy Spirit spoke,
• 14:14
  Speaker 1: then he's speaking now, and he's speaking today. Now. The
• 14:19
  Speaker 1: issue today is there's a lot of false prophets out
• 14:22
  Speaker 1: there and a lot of false words. We just have
• 14:24
  Speaker 1: to shuffle through to get to the true prophets that
• 14:28
  Speaker 1: are faithful to the Word of God. Amen alllujah. So
• 14:32
  Speaker 1: he prophesied that there was a great famine throughout all
• 14:35
  Speaker 1: the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.
• 14:41
  Speaker 1: Now that's interesting, that's something I haven't looked that up.
• 14:45
  Speaker 1: But I'm gonna look that up. Who Claudius Caesar was
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: and what kind of famine happened in that day. Now
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: there you go. There's some homework for you posting a
• 14:56
  Speaker 1: life chad once you find out who this guy was
• 15:00
  Speaker 1: and what happened. Like this family is similar to that.
• 15:05
  Speaker 1: According to this prophetic word verse twenty nine. Then the disciples,
• 15:09
  Speaker 1: each according to his ability, determined to send relief to
• 15:14
  Speaker 1: the brethren dwelling in Judea. Now this is interesting. Now,
• 15:21
  Speaker 1: a lot of prophetic words that we hear today tell
• 15:25
  Speaker 1: us to store up food for ourselves, tell us to
• 15:29
  Speaker 1: hoard our resources and supplies, you know, build shelters, you know,
• 15:35
  Speaker 1: get generators and get all this, and think about your family.
• 15:40
  Speaker 1: But their reaction was, they wanted to make sure the
• 15:44
  Speaker 1: believers in Jerusalem were good, and they gave according to
• 15:49
  Speaker 1: their ability. We're going to talk about that a little later, right.
• 15:54
  Speaker 1: So they weren't even thinking about themselves at all. Their
• 15:57
  Speaker 1: heart was for the They wanted to make sure that
• 16:02
  Speaker 1: the mother Church was taken care of amen verse thirty.
• 16:07
  Speaker 1: Then they also did and sent it to the elders
• 16:13
  Speaker 1: by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. Now this is great,
• 16:20
  Speaker 1: this is interesting, and we're gonna break this down and
• 16:24
  Speaker 1: we're gonna show you how we're gonna tie this into MLKDA.

  Speaker 1: So the title of the message today is one Body,
• 16:34
  Speaker 1: One Burden, Amen, One Body, One Burden. So twenty seven
• 16:45
  Speaker 1: and I'm coming at you from the New King James.
• 16:48
  Speaker 1: And in those days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch. Now,
• 16:54
  Speaker 1: the early Church was not isolated or divided the Jerusalem.
• 17:00
  Speaker 1: It was the birthplace of the church. Antioch had become
• 17:04
  Speaker 1: like a powerful hub at this time. It was a
• 17:08
  Speaker 1: multi ethnic, it was multi cultural, and it was a
• 17:14
  Speaker 1: spirit filled church. Hallelujah. Oh man, we need this church
• 17:19
  Speaker 1: back today. Hallelujah. Now, God was rising up leaders in profits,
• 17:28
  Speaker 1: not for status, not just so that they can get
• 17:33
  Speaker 1: an Instagram ministry and get one hundred dollars line, right,
• 17:37
  Speaker 1: But he was raising up these profits for service to serve. Now,
• 17:43
  Speaker 1: notice this profits, they didn't stay in a comfortable place, right,
• 17:50
  Speaker 1: They didn't stay comfortable. They went where God was moving.
• 17:55
  Speaker 1: They went where God was leading them. Now, you to me, unity,
• 17:59
  Speaker 1: if I can my words to work here, Unity requires movement.
• 18:06
  Speaker 1: You don't build bridges just by staying put, just by
• 18:10
  Speaker 1: staying in one place. Amen. Now that's already the word
• 18:18
  Speaker 1: for today. Unity requires movement. Hallelujah. Now verse twenty eight again.

  Speaker 1: Then one of them name Agabus, stood up. That's the
• 18:31
  Speaker 1: cool name. Huh Agabus. He stood up and showed by
• 18:36
  Speaker 1: the spirits. Now that needs to be one of our prayers.
• 18:41
  Speaker 1: Need to add this to our prayer lists. Lead us
• 18:44
  Speaker 1: by your spirit, Lord, show us by your spirit. We
• 18:47
  Speaker 1: need to love our wives by the spirit. We need
• 18:51
  Speaker 1: to love our husbands by the spirit. We need to
• 18:54
  Speaker 1: work our jobs by the spirit. Our business is our career.
• 18:58
  Speaker 1: Everything Bible says that the children of God are led
• 19:03
  Speaker 1: by the spirit. Amen. Now this prophet stood up. Then
• 19:08
  Speaker 1: there was going and he was showed them that there
• 19:11
  Speaker 1: was going to be a great famine throughout all the world,
• 19:14
  Speaker 1: which also happened in the days of Claudia Caesar. Now
• 19:20
  Speaker 1: Agabus didn't predict disaster for attention. He wasn't trying to
• 19:24
  Speaker 1: get clicks on social media. It was not clickbait. He
• 19:31
  Speaker 1: revealed it for preparation. True prophetic ministry doesn't cause us
• 19:39
  Speaker 1: to be fearful, It doesn't torment us, it doesn't make us,
• 19:45
  Speaker 1: you know, cry like chicken. Little right, the sky is falling.
• 19:49
  Speaker 1: It caused people to a faithful response, not a fearful one.
• 19:56
  Speaker 1: Here what stands out to me on this LK Day,
• 20:03
  Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Martin Luther King. Doctor King didn't just dream,
• 20:11
  Speaker 1: He also warned. He spoke truth about justice. He spoke
• 20:16
  Speaker 1: truth about poverty in the moral famine of the day.
• 20:24
  Speaker 1: And just like Agabus, he was not popular for it.
• 20:30
  Speaker 1: People didn't really like his message at all all right,
• 20:38
  Speaker 1: Verse twenty nine. Then the disciples, each according to his ability,
• 20:43
  Speaker 1: determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea. Now,
• 20:50
  Speaker 1: this is one of the clearest pictures of biblical unity
• 20:54
  Speaker 1: in the New Testament. You got Gentile believers helping Jewish believers. Amen.

  Speaker 1: This goes across racial, cultural in geographical lines right here.
• 21:13
  Speaker 1: No pressure, no manipulation. It was all done just by obedience,
• 21:21
  Speaker 1: just by having a heart to please God. Amen. We
• 21:27
  Speaker 1: got to get back to that. We got to get
• 21:29
  Speaker 1: back to a place where our priority is to please
• 21:36
  Speaker 1: God above people. It may not be popular, but I
• 21:42
  Speaker 1: tell you that is living your purpose, That is fulfilling
• 21:49
  Speaker 1: the call in your life. When you put God the
• 21:53
  Speaker 1: number one priority. Hallelujah. That's how we're going to break
• 21:59
  Speaker 1: down these. Now, this verse preaches to all of us,
• 22:09
  Speaker 1: and it preaches all by itself, each according to his ability. Now, look,
• 22:16
  Speaker 1: it wasn't by comparison, and it was not by competition. Right.
• 22:27
  Speaker 1: It was a heart of compassion and a heart of preparation.
• 22:36
  Speaker 1: Now this sounds a lot like doctor King's vision of
• 22:44
  Speaker 1: the beloved Church. Beloved Now we're justine, all right, let
• 22:51
  Speaker 1: me try that again. We're justice, compassion, and shared responsibility
• 22:59
  Speaker 1: to find people. They don't just say that's not my problem, right.
• 23:07
  Speaker 1: We can't say that no more. We can't say, oh,
• 23:10
  Speaker 1: that's somebody else's problem. Right. We can't say, oh, they
• 23:18
  Speaker 1: don't look like us anymore. It's because they don't look
• 23:22
  Speaker 1: like us doesn't mean we can't love on them. It
• 23:25
  Speaker 1: doesn't mean we cannot help them. We can't say, oh,
• 23:30
  Speaker 1: they don't worship like we do. No. But what we
• 23:35
  Speaker 1: can say, if they're hurting, we're hurting. That's the gospel.
• 23:41
  Speaker 1: If they're in need, we're in need. If they are
• 23:47
  Speaker 1: in lack, we are in lack. We have to be united.
• 23:52
  Speaker 1: We have to be as one. Amen. Now, Verse thirty
• 23:57
  Speaker 1: says they also did and sent it to the elders
• 24:04
  Speaker 1: by the hands of Barnabas and Saul. Now the church
• 24:10
  Speaker 1: trusted proving the leaders to send out this resource. Barnabas
• 24:19
  Speaker 1: his ministry is the ministry of encouragement in Saul. Saul
• 24:27
  Speaker 1: was the former persecutor turned preacher. Can you imagine that
• 24:33
  Speaker 1: the person that used to wreck the church is now
• 24:37
  Speaker 1: sending support and bringing aid to the church. That is powerful,
• 24:46
  Speaker 1: That is redemption now. Doctor King believed transformation was possible
• 24:54
  Speaker 1: even for systems that were broken, because God is able
• 25:01
  Speaker 1: to change every heart. Hallelujah. You got to start with
• 25:06
  Speaker 1: the heart first. We're not gonna have peace with our
• 25:10

  Speaker 1: on your wife, drinking, smoking, stealing, whatever it may be.
