Transcript
- Michael Chestnut: Some of you listening right now, you know exactly what your lion is. That thing you keep avoiding, that addiction, that compromise, that conversation, a responsibility, that fear, and the longer you avoid it, the stronger it gets. There's a man in the Bible most people have never heard a sermon about. His name was Benaiah, not David. not Samson, not Joshua, but Benaiah, And in two verses, this man paints one of the hardest images of biblical masculinity in all of scripture. The Bible says he chased a lion into a pit on a snowy day and killed it. Every detail made the fight worse. A lion is already deadly. A pit means there's no easy escape. Snow means unstable footing. Everything about the situation screamed back away. But Baniah stepped in anyways because biblical men don't spend their lives running from hard things.
