- 0:00There is a substantial and well known danger of the vital nature
- 0:04taking advantage of the force that comes down through the
- 0:08psychic aspiration and using it to advance objectives of the
- 0:13vital rather than those that carry out the intended purpose
- 0:18of the divine power. There is a well known
- 0:21connection, for instance, between the opening of the heart
- 0:24center and its emotions and the activation of the sexual impulse
- 0:29when the being has not been sufficiently prepared and
- 0:33purified in its ability to receive and hold the higher
- 0:37force as it descends. In Western psychology, a similar
- 0:43phenomenon is known as transference.
- 0:46When a patient transfers his or her affections to the therapist,
- 0:51there are strict rules governing this type of relationship, as
- 0:55the patient is in a vulnerable position and the doctor or
- 0:59counselor has a power and authority that, if misused, can
- 1:03lead to tragic results. Similarly, the relationship
- 1:09between doctors and patients, teachers and students, and
- 1:13employers and employees have shown that this type of
- 1:17imbalanced power dynamic combined with authority or
- 1:20respect or even outright affection can create serious
- 1:25difficulties. Steps have been taken to try to
- 1:29govern the misuse of this power dynamic for the spiritual
- 1:34practitioner, particularly for someone who holds a position of
- 1:38authority or is able to project a strong spiritual energy, there
- 1:43are similar dangers but fewer actual societal controls
- 1:48available. Thus, we see a number of
- 1:51examples of this type of misuse of the power by the vital nature
- 1:56to enjoy sexual relations or other types of vital
- 2:00satisfactions in modern day society.
- 2:03This issue is being taken up and through the use of lawsuits,
- 2:08criminal proceedings and simple exposure, some major systemic
- 2:13and group cases have been addressed.
- 2:16The problems, however, are not limited to large organizations
- 2:20and groups, but can break out even in a one-on-one
- 2:24relationship, particularly if the perpetrator has a strong
- 2:28spiritual energy as well as a strong but as yet untransformed
- 2:34vital nature. The vital power is dramatically
- 2:38enhanced by certain yogic practices, and thus the risk of
- 2:43misuse is enormously accentuated.
- 2:46For this reason, the sadak is counselled to not try to focus
- 2:50on pulling down the energy, but to first prepare the being, the
- 2:55body, the nervous system, the vital power, the emotions and
- 3:00the mind to hold the descent of the force without spilling it
- 3:05and to keep the aspiration pure and focused to ensure that no
- 3:09part of the being can divert or in any way redirect the force to
- 3:15vital satisfaction. Trioropindo notes Quote When the
- 3:21psychic puts its influence on the vital, the first thing you
- 3:24must be careful to avoid is any least mixture of a wrong vital
- 3:29movement with the psychic movement.
- 3:32Lust is the perversion or degradation which prevents love
- 3:36from establishing its reign. So when there is the movement of
- 3:40psychic love in the heart, lust or vital desire is the one thing
- 3:45that must not be allowed to come in.
- 3:48Just as when strength comes down from above, personal ambition
- 3:52and pride have to be kept far away from it, for any mixture of
- 3:57the perversion will corrupt the psychic or spiritual action and
- 4:01prevent a true fulfillment. End Quote.
