- 1:17Speaker 5: like your last name.
- 1:19Speaker 3: That's good.
- 1:20Speaker 5: It brings about it does it's a good name. That's
- 1:25Speaker 5: a good one. Gino has a little bit of a
- 1:27Speaker 5: rant right now. We're in between the Mets. What's going on?
- 1:31Speaker 3: You got no?
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean we were just like, I mean, it's
- 1:35Speaker 2: probably when this airs. Hopefully the Mets will still be
- 1:37Speaker 2: further in the postseason.
- 1:38Speaker 3: But yesterday was one of.
- 1:39Speaker 2: The most draining games if you're a Met fan, it was.
- 1:43Speaker 2: It was incredible that he lost.
- 1:45Speaker 5: It was how many anything?
- 1:49Speaker 3: Oh, they went, they went, they wanted to think an
- 1:52Speaker 3: extra inning. They lost by one.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Mother and who they play?
- 1:54Speaker 3: The Phillies.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Yeah, do you like the Phillies.
- 1:59Speaker 3: I'm not against the philm but they're playing the Mets.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I mean that's the you know, Crosstown kind of like
- 2:03Speaker 2: rival like there in Philadelphia, New York.
- 2:04Speaker 4: I mean, what do you think about a subway series
- 2:07Speaker 4: because the Yankees in there too.
- 2:08Speaker 3: In the game. Listen, it would be great for the city.
- 2:11Speaker 3: I would love that.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I'm not a Yankee hater, just so, just so you know,
- 2:13Speaker 2: any Yankee fans that are listening, I'm not a Yankee
- 2:15Speaker 2: hate even I mean, that's this is twenty five years right.
- 2:18Speaker 2: He did a song for the Yankees with some of
- 2:20Speaker 2: the guys back in the day. But they need met fans,
- 2:23Speaker 2: So I'm gonna I'm a base I love baseball.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I'm not a big football guy.
- 2:27Speaker 7: I like baseball mean too, I was baseball too.
- 2:31Speaker 5: That's could you in the middle.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm talking. I'm not a Yankee hater, and that'd
- 2:34Speaker 3: be beautiful. I mean, the last Subway series, actual World
- 2:37Speaker 3: Series two.
- 2:38Speaker 5: Thousand, what you said, the city could use it. We
- 2:41Speaker 5: have been beaten up.
- 2:43Speaker 4: We have been we have been through the mill, coming
- 2:47Speaker 4: out of the lockdown, coming out through COVID.
- 2:51Speaker 5: We need something to lift off.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Possible, It's definitely possible.
- 2:55Speaker 5: If they if they're in the playoffs.
- 2:57Speaker 3: It's possible. Well there's eight teams left, so yeah, from
- 3:00Speaker 3: New York, So it's definitely possible.
- 3:02Speaker 4: I mean, a beautiful Subway series would be fanest.
- 3:10Speaker 3: I mean, they haven't remember a year during the regular season.
- 3:14Speaker 4: This is different though, when when you're playing at the
- 3:16Speaker 4: playoffs in the World Series. It's different when you play
- 3:19Speaker 4: They're not gonna play each other in the playoffs, but
- 3:21Speaker 4: the World Series, it would be phenomenal.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Oh my, that would be amazing. Could you imagine?
- 3:27Speaker 4: Though, Like, so, what if I don't know about this?
- 3:31Speaker 4: But like how it works for the Subway series. They
- 3:34Speaker 4: would play at Chase Stadium.
- 3:35Speaker 3: And they would stadium.
- 3:37Speaker 5: They knock that down.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I mean.
- 3:42Speaker 5: They would play at shitty Field.
- 3:44Speaker 8: Now and then the Yankee Stadium.
- 3:47Speaker 5: Why did they make it such an ugly color?
- 3:49Speaker 3: As question?
- 3:52Speaker 5: It's orange and gray?
- 3:54Speaker 2: First of all, do you know why the men colors
- 3:56Speaker 2: are like like blue and orange? Because you had the
- 4:01Speaker 2: New York Giants and the Dodgers orange, which I said
- 4:03Speaker 2: for the scow Giants and the Dodgers.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Yeah, Brooklyn Dodgers. So he took orange.
- 4:07Speaker 4: And so anybody who was a Dodger or a Giants
- 4:10Speaker 4: fan became a back fan.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Oh that's what happened, because the.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Dodgers went to LA and the Giants went to LA too. Yes,
- 4:19Speaker 5: well we lost two teams to California.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I mean listen, and I'm not again, I'm not a
- 4:24Speaker 2: Dodger hater, but fans though, I mean I'm not.
- 4:28Speaker 3: The Philly fans.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Crazy bossed me and they and they'll say the same
- 4:34Speaker 5: thing by New York. Yeah, the same thing by New York.
- 4:38Speaker 3: New York fans especially.
- 4:42Speaker 5: I'll tell you what fans I love.
- 4:44Speaker 4: I had the privilege of being at the playoff game
- 4:48Speaker 4: with the New York wrinch Rangers when Mark Messier. I
- 4:53Speaker 4: was at that game when they won and they let
- 4:55Speaker 4: out the doves.
- 4:57Speaker 5: They let out doves and they flew all around. They
- 5:00Speaker 5: won the Stanley car.
- 5:03Speaker 4: And the doves were flying around it.
- 5:06Speaker 5: It was such a beautiful experience.
- 5:08Speaker 4: It was almost spiritual, even though it was crazy and maudy.
- 5:14Speaker 5: But it was a togetherness. We were all cheering for
- 5:16Speaker 5: something which was right. Yeah, is that crazy? How many
- 5:22Speaker 5: years is that? Is that crazy? Twenty four years ago?
- 5:29Speaker 5: Isn't that crazy?
- 5:31Speaker 3: Well?
- 5:31Speaker 9: Now, I tried to count my years in like moments
- 5:35Speaker 9: like in summers, like someone that taught me through some
- 5:40Speaker 9: like you know, self help and stuff.
- 5:42Speaker 3: We can talk about this character and I'm trying to
- 5:44Speaker 3: found self self.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Improvement or like mentors that we find online. That'd be
- 5:49Speaker 2: game for like years and years ago years, But I
- 5:51Speaker 2: count my I guess my moments in summers. I think
- 5:54Speaker 2: about how many summers?
- 5:56Speaker 3: No, yeah, I mean.
- 5:59Speaker 5: About that was dark and pudding?
- 6:03Speaker 3: How dare you right? Okay? All right, but but it
- 6:07Speaker 3: puts a sense of reality.
- 6:09Speaker 10: Also, yeah, you get the closet, so.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I get a question, So why why pudding? I mean
- 6:17Speaker 3: I know you have cats. You gave me the name
- 6:19Speaker 3: because I.
- 6:20Speaker 4: Was sitting in my house eating pudding out of a
- 6:23Speaker 4: pot one night.
- 6:24Speaker 5: My cats. No, absolutely not sugar freight, and so with
- 6:27Speaker 5: my cat's sitting on me. So that's what I said.
- 6:30Speaker 5: I said, Now my life is cats and pudding.
- 6:32Speaker 4: And now it's a double meaning now because of the
- 6:34Speaker 4: podcast is about it.
- 6:37Speaker 5: I thought it was cute, it's different, it's very playful. Yes,
- 6:41Speaker 5: that's what I like when you.
- 6:45Speaker 3: I guess that's your signature.
- 6:46Speaker 5: At the beginning. Are we like that?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Yes?
- 6:50Speaker 2: I mean yes, but you can get a ram when
- 6:53Speaker 2: someone was like, when you get someone on the girl
- 6:55Speaker 2: on the cat's gonna be playful, cat's gonna be plainful.
- 7:07Speaker 3: But they could also screw.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Yes, that's true. It could be big mold you.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Okay, So Gino, really we want to talk about you
- 7:21Speaker 4: have the New Adventure av Yeah. First of all, let's
- 7:25Speaker 4: quickly talk about the movie that you did with me. You,
- 7:29Speaker 4: Emily Rodjakowski, and Sebastian mens Cackle was in it.
- 7:34Speaker 5: Rob Siegel directed it. Gina, I love this movie.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Well. I wrote the proof of concept, which was like
- 7:39Speaker 3: a short story.
- 7:41Speaker 4: When we all lived in l A In the chateau.
- 7:47Speaker 3: You look at.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Excuse Mattie Davis used to live in my apartment.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Really well, huffy about Huffy Bogart. Did you feel his spirit?
- 7:57Speaker 5: I felt the spirit was magical, though, the fucking spirit.
- 8:02Speaker 5: What the hell? My fuck comfort ball god spirit ship.
- 8:10Speaker 3: I felt some people in that courtyard.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I forgot who else was there, like the like big
- 8:15Speaker 2: people that were in the right the fountain. Yeah, no, yeah,
- 8:19Speaker 2: I felt the presence.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah, like there was something like there was a lot
- 8:22Speaker 4: of big people who used to live in that place, right, like,
- 8:24Speaker 4: oh yeah, it was all the actors lived.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I lived up the block in the little courtyard, and
- 8:30Speaker 2: then I moved into that chateau.
- 8:32Speaker 5: And it's called the Chateau del Barnes barn And let
- 8:38Speaker 5: me let me just say something. We had the best
- 8:41Speaker 5: times in La.
- 8:42Speaker 4: I think we caught the last best decade of the.
- 8:48Speaker 5: Great La be a lot like New York City full
- 8:53Speaker 5: of actors, a city full of actors.
- 8:55Speaker 4: It's all industry, it's all movies, it's all business.
- 9:00Speaker 3: It's all that.
- 9:02Speaker 5: And you meet you met the most interesting, fun people,
- 9:06Speaker 5: and now it's made a little turn.
- 9:07Speaker 4: I'll never knock La, but I'm just saying it's a
- 9:11Speaker 4: lot different from them we lived there. Yeah, one because
- 9:15Speaker 4: of the way the business is changing, but the whole
- 9:17Speaker 4: AI and everybody folding, the studio of the folding.
- 9:23Speaker 2: You see the recent video that was posted on someone
- 9:25Speaker 2: was taking a cruise down Sunset Boulevard on Thursday night
- 9:28Speaker 2: and it was it was dead.
- 9:29Speaker 3: It was like empty at like nine thirty ten o'clock
- 9:31Speaker 3: at night. Now nine thirty ten o'clock at night on
- 9:34Speaker 3: a Thursday or Friday. We lived back there, which was
- 9:36Speaker 3: just fuck.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And it's said like all these businesses are closing, like
- 9:40Speaker 2: these lounges like I used to bartend and on this.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Lodge ball the den, the Den, which was a lot
- 9:46Speaker 3: of fun. But we did catch the tail in and
- 9:49Speaker 3: all that, Yeah, caught the tail in reality.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Think it was pretty big when I had moved LA
- 9:54Speaker 2: and still had a sense of like, you know, there's
- 9:56Speaker 2: still a TV and film world and this was even
- 9:59Speaker 2: before the face.
- 10:00Speaker 3: It was really the only big one in my space.
- 10:02Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think I.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Think I might have left when Instagram was just starting
- 10:06Speaker 2: to get big and like all these apps like Uber
- 10:09Speaker 2: Reads and I don't want to you know, I don't
- 10:11Speaker 2: I want to plug that people stuff. All these apps
- 10:14Speaker 2: of like like where you could actually get a gig,
- 10:18Speaker 2: like a side gig, side hustle.
- 10:20Speaker 3: They weren't around.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Like they weren't around when we came back to New York,
- 10:24Speaker 2: like eleven there was apps went around like actually.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Hop in to an app and like make a little
- 10:31Speaker 3: side money.
- 10:31Speaker 2: It was either bartend or any side hustle when you
- 10:34Speaker 2: could come up with.
- 10:35Speaker 3: So, I mean bartending was just as hard as getting an.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Act the job, yeah, because that's what do you wait,
- 10:41Speaker 4: The funniest thing is at bartending in l A.
- 10:43Speaker 5: You have to give a headshot.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Well, I mean I that was the only that was
- 10:54Speaker 3: the only thing because of my it was it was
- 10:59Speaker 3: hard getting you also had an ice following, Yeah, it was.
- 11:02Speaker 3: It was very hard.
- 11:03Speaker 5: Did you work in the city.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Did you work in New York City at the bot
- 11:05Speaker 3: tender years ago?
- 11:08Speaker 5: It's it was fun working.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a lot of fun. I mean.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Yeah, he worked well China Club, That's what That's what
- 11:15Speaker 5: they said.
- 11:17Speaker 3: That was the fun that was all worked at Catholic Society. Yeah,
- 11:21Speaker 3: but I did like well whole parties. Yeah. I wasn't.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I wasn't. I was like a cool bartender like you
- 11:30Speaker 3: know like.
- 11:30Speaker 11: Well, Broce Willis worked in the city, and then he
- 11:32Speaker 11: also worked at Hunting Mountain, where everybody worked to like
- 11:35Speaker 11: if they have the Botens worked in the Hamptons and
- 11:37Speaker 11: Hunted Mountain.
- 11:38Speaker 5: That's where the Bartenders wet.
- 11:39Speaker 4: So they made all the money in the summer time
- 11:41Speaker 4: in the Hamptons and then went on the mountain whereverybody
- 11:43Speaker 4: went skame.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I can still shake your drink, but I just experienced
- 11:47Speaker 3: very tired. I mean I was late thirties early forties
- 11:50Speaker 3: when those parts. Now I'm like that and I can't.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Okay, tell us about let's get back to went off
- 11:58Speaker 5: the pav.
- 11:58Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Tell us how tell us aboot Cruise, make it short
- 12:02Speaker 4: and sweet, and then we will go into your newood, Betcher.
- 12:04Speaker 4: But Cruise was your first big movie. It was you
- 12:08Speaker 4: wrote concept for it.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Then the one big lesson that I learned when I
- 12:13Speaker 3: lived in la was like kind of like right, what
- 12:15Speaker 3: you know?
- 12:15Speaker 2: So I wrote a proof of concept about the neighborhood
- 12:19Speaker 2: that I grew up with in Queens and Flushing, white
- 12:22Speaker 2: Stone Baside area, which was Francis's boolward.
- 12:25Speaker 3: I went to the Holy Cross High.
- 12:26Speaker 5: School and my daughter went to hol across.
- 12:28Speaker 3: That's all funny really just graduate.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Yeah, well because it's now, yeah.
- 12:32Speaker 3: That's wild. And so I went to holy Cross and
- 12:34Speaker 3: I would you know at nights did whether it be
- 12:37Speaker 3: days nights, We cruised the boulevard. So I wrote what
- 12:39Speaker 3: I know. I did a proof of concept and Rob
- 12:43Speaker 3: Siegel who.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Did the wrestler and did a move called Big Fan
- 12:46Speaker 2: that I was at Sunday else he hopped on board to.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Producing director, writing and it crewed. Frannie Loue was the
- 12:53Speaker 3: short film that inspired Cruise.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Wow.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so and that was a ten year journey.
- 12:59Speaker 5: So Cruise, who had some good actors, you got into it.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Catherine played my basically played my mother and I basically
- 13:05Speaker 2: played my father.
- 13:06Speaker 5: We played husband and wife.
- 13:08Speaker 3: She played my.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Mom, uh you know.
- 13:10Speaker 2: And Theian Rensican for Midland, which was really exclusely based
- 13:14Speaker 2: so my parents.
- 13:16Speaker 3: The lead boy, yeah, the lead boy was the Hollywood
- 13:18Speaker 3: version of me. It was like six foot one. We
- 13:23Speaker 3: had to give me absolutely spens the ball, which would
- 13:28Speaker 3: be different. Ki Benjamin sco call Captaine and she was Southiano. Yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 3: It was a ten year process that Jan but you
- 13:41Speaker 3: got it done, got it.
- 13:42Speaker 5: Now you have another I have to watch it now.
- 13:46Speaker 5: I I gotta watch it, or it on Netflix.
- 13:52Speaker 3: It's on it's on Apple tv now, and it's on Amazon.
- 13:56Speaker 3: It came out of the room. But you can find
- 13:59Speaker 3: anyway can find it too, b.
- 14:02Speaker 5: I have to watch all of them. Yeah.
- 14:04Speaker 2: The music soundtrack, it's kind of like the soundtrack of
- 14:07Speaker 2: Our Lives, how we kind of up.
- 14:08Speaker 3: It just takes you back. There's no agenda to the movie.
- 14:11Speaker 3: It's just a lot of fun. I was very grateful that,
- 14:14Speaker 3: you know, people believed in it because it was it
- 14:15Speaker 3: was hard to get.
- 14:16Speaker 2: That made because they don't make movies like that, like
- 14:19Speaker 2: you're trying to excite their feet, you know.
- 14:21Speaker 3: But like Rocky where it was like you know, you know,
- 14:23Speaker 3: Grady true main streets that aren't making these movies.
- 14:25Speaker 2: An you know, there's still a lot of fun, like
- 14:27Speaker 2: all back in that period, the summer of eighty seven,
- 14:30Speaker 2: eighty seven.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Or seven, Yeah, the summer of eighty seven. Now let's
- 14:34Speaker 4: cut to now twenty twenty four. You went to La
- 14:39Speaker 4: you you shot something and give us the back of
- 14:43Speaker 4: hit you Mark.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Well, it was right around like just right after COVID
- 14:46Speaker 2: or what kind of like just inside the world world
- 14:48Speaker 2: of COVID, thing was like like cusped like twenty twenty
- 14:52Speaker 2: twenty one, and you know, I really was shut down.
- 14:55Speaker 2: That's when I came up to day I dud like
- 14:58Speaker 2: finishing my children's book and then at the same time
- 15:00Speaker 2: started developing this pilot that you know, my writing, the
- 15:06Speaker 2: use and partner and co creator Chris Cornwall and myself.
- 15:11Speaker 3: We liked we like to write or doing we know,
- 15:13Speaker 3: so Cruise came from a real place and so this
- 15:16Speaker 3: is coming from overal place. Also the same dad actor.
- 15:21Speaker 3: So we shot it as a pilot. We shopped it
- 15:24Speaker 3: and you get the usual. People love it. It's great.
- 15:27Speaker 3: We have some really great people and they really loved it.
- 15:30Speaker 2: But unfortunately, you know, just because they love it doesn't
- 15:32Speaker 2: mean they're going to take it up and play no,
- 15:34Speaker 2: you know, play it on the air.
- 15:36Speaker 3: So we decided to just release it on our moment.
- 15:39Speaker 5: We dropped it on many episodes.
- 15:41Speaker 3: We chopped up the pilot. It was a pilot. We
- 15:44Speaker 3: chopped it up and we put.
- 15:45Speaker 2: It into short form of each episode was like six
- 15:47Speaker 2: seven minutes, and we got an out there. Just dropped
- 15:50Speaker 2: on YouTube on September twenty seven.
- 15:52Speaker 3: How does it do it? I'm proud of it. Because
- 15:55Speaker 3: I don't get to play the average job.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I don't get to play you know, you know, kind
- 16:00Speaker 2: of like the blue collar guy who's you know, a
- 16:02Speaker 2: single dad against loosely me.
- 16:05Speaker 3: You know, a guy's name is Pete. But you know
- 16:07Speaker 3: I wasn't gonna named them Gino. I don't know I was.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I've been named Geno on a few, like a few things.
- 16:13Speaker 2: So you know, his name is Pete, but it's it's big.
- 16:16Speaker 2: It's just you know, seeing Dad goes to l A.
- 16:19Speaker 2: You know, he bunks him with this eccentric guy who
- 16:22Speaker 2: really meant on a reality show. Did a reality show
- 16:24Speaker 2: I don't want so I don't want to see the
- 16:25Speaker 2: reality show I did, but I did a legit reality.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Show that was on NBC twenty something years ago. So
- 16:33Speaker 3: that kind of gave us the idea. And I met
- 16:35Speaker 3: this gentleman by the name of Dante they called m
- 16:38Speaker 3: Donny's and this is Chris, that's the one is not thing,
- 16:42Speaker 3: and just you know.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Start developing this idea about you know what we would
- 16:46Speaker 2: be like mounking with this guy.
- 16:48Speaker 3: But it came from bunking with a bunch of guys
- 16:51Speaker 3: on this reality It's so.
- 16:54Speaker 5: So that's out that you that's on.
- 16:59Speaker 3: YouTube, you mark, yeah, which is a metaphor for just
- 17:02Speaker 3: go few ons we talked about this, but you know, as.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Gatekeepers out there, yeah, you know, yeah, but I guess
- 17:11Speaker 2: what these gatekeepers eventually are kind of fading away, like
- 17:16Speaker 2: a lot of these big companies and these agencies and
- 17:19Speaker 2: these gatekeepers, they're worried because you got creators today that
- 17:24Speaker 2: are doing their own thing.
- 17:25Speaker 3: And that's where we'll be on these preaches.
- 17:27Speaker 2: If you got a story that you want to tell,
- 17:28Speaker 2: tell your story. Yeah, no matter what what people think
- 17:31Speaker 2: of They're just gonna tell you a story.
- 17:32Speaker 3: It's authentic to you to tell your story.
- 17:34Speaker 5: I think, I mean, I think today it's just we
- 17:37Speaker 5: were talking about this too the other day, that there
- 17:38Speaker 5: is a lot of people that are putting content out there.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Not all of it is good content, but there's a
- 17:43Speaker 5: lot of content.
- 17:44Speaker 3: That is good. And that's a little bit of a
- 17:45Speaker 3: tonal war with that word. And I use it and
- 17:48Speaker 3: digital creator. I get all that.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I love that I see, you know, people that have
- 17:52Speaker 2: never had a chance back then to never get the
- 17:54Speaker 2: stuff seen being seen now.
- 17:56Speaker 3: But I believe putting in the work. First. Of course,
- 18:00Speaker 3: a lot of people throw stuff on their own wall.
- 18:02Speaker 3: Some of it's gonna stick in, some of it's not.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Absolutely, But I always believed because I was in the
- 18:06Speaker 2: corporate world for for a long long time. I was
- 18:09Speaker 2: in corporate America for my last corporate job is in
- 18:11Speaker 2: two thousand and six.
- 18:13Speaker 3: So I come from a sales mentality and marketing mentality.
- 18:16Speaker 2: So it's a numbers game, like it only takes really
- 18:18Speaker 2: more person to see something like it takes one person,
- 18:22Speaker 2: you know, you can.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Have nine people that don't like it with that one
- 18:25Speaker 3: person like say it and it's a quality and you
- 18:28Speaker 3: believe in it.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Like for me, this citing worn for me is probably
- 18:34Speaker 2: the best. I'm hoping future work will be the best work.
- 18:37Speaker 11: But to me, I don't get to be this person
- 18:41Speaker 11: because I think it was work that you made. Make
- 18:44Speaker 11: it made it six minutes the episodes because today nobody
- 18:48Speaker 11: has the intention span I'm watching, well exactly the kids
- 18:51Speaker 11: they don't know attention.
- 18:55Speaker 2: But what I do know is a lot of people
- 18:58Speaker 2: watching the first episode and then watching this I can
- 19:00Speaker 2: then not getting to the foot I mean, they won
- 19:02Speaker 2: seven minutes.
- 19:03Speaker 3: The last episode wants film minutes. The whole thing is
- 19:06Speaker 3: like twenty three minutes. And still people you can't get
- 19:09Speaker 3: people to watch it? Wow, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:10Speaker 3: It's that hard. But again it takes one person. So
- 19:14Speaker 3: I really just wanted to get the work out there
- 19:15Speaker 3: because it's that good.
- 19:16Speaker 4: What do you think is the strongest social media platform
- 19:19Speaker 4: for somebody filmmakers?
- 19:22Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna say YouTube. I know everyone again, I
- 19:25Speaker 2: you know, YouTube just got I think the number of
- 19:27Speaker 2: it he just went up. I think he said two
- 19:29Speaker 2: hundred and thirty seven million people. Yeah, wow, I mean
- 19:33Speaker 2: and then they say that's the number one streamer I
- 19:35Speaker 2: believe it or not.
- 19:36Speaker 3: Yeah it is. And again I know the algorithms and
- 19:39Speaker 3: all the typical you know that technical stuff. It's different.
- 19:43Speaker 3: But if you want to get your stuff out there,
- 19:46Speaker 3: you can get it out there. But now you said it,
- 19:48Speaker 3: you said a lot of people do make contact. And
- 19:50Speaker 3: it's a tug of war with that.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Word as long as it's content and you really kind
- 19:55Speaker 2: of like really want to put out there.
- 19:56Speaker 3: And I can't say this. Yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 5: Now I have another fun fun facts. Do you remember
- 20:01Speaker 5: what year was it? Remember the how you doing?
- 20:04Speaker 3: Boys? Back at your day? What is it called? We will?
- 20:08Speaker 5: They did the Twelve Days of Christmas Josh part of that.
- 20:13Speaker 5: That's a long time ago, remember that as days of
- 20:16Speaker 5: greedo love.
- 20:17Speaker 3: That that's a long time ago again, but we all
- 20:20Speaker 3: start somew It was.
- 20:21Speaker 5: That's how long you're making you know what? You should
- 20:23Speaker 5: redo that? And we posted out.
- 20:26Speaker 3: There we went viral back in this was nineteen ninety eight,
- 20:29Speaker 3: ninety nine. We did toll Days a Guido Christmas and
- 20:32Speaker 3: then we did how You Doing Yankees, which was a
- 20:35Speaker 3: song for the Yankees, How You're Doing Yankees? And the
- 20:37Speaker 3: crazyness of Gino here was. I mean, I said, I
- 20:41Speaker 3: want to trademark that the word how you doing?
- 20:44Speaker 2: You can't treat me trademark And I'm like, well, if
- 20:46Speaker 2: you turn it into a product between care.
- 20:49Speaker 3: We made it into a song and we saw share
- 20:50Speaker 3: it to.
- 20:51Speaker 2: Say Jane House like ninety ninety ninety two thousand and
- 20:56Speaker 2: then again just the guy a little out of control
- 20:58Speaker 2: and then you know it starts in a good way.
- 21:01Speaker 3: But we were young back then. It was myself which.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Was my.
- 21:07Speaker 3: Je It was Joey baseballs.
- 21:09Speaker 5: And comedy, see but no listen moments and know goes
- 21:15Speaker 5: how you though?
- 21:16Speaker 4: And I actually said to him and he was really great.
- 21:20Speaker 4: I said, you know, my friend Gino, that's their thing.
- 21:23Speaker 4: They trademarked up.
- 21:24Speaker 5: But I didn't know.
- 21:25Speaker 3: You didn't. I thought, you know, we did trademark.
- 21:27Speaker 10: But you know, he goes how you're doing, but that
- 21:31Speaker 10: comes from you from ll right, No, no, I like it.
- 21:35Speaker 10: He's doing whatever he's doing with it. It's actually a
- 21:37Speaker 10: compliment these guys.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Gino's the original, you don't you know, and it's cruel.
- 21:45Speaker 2: I don't want to do a lot. I mean, if
- 21:46Speaker 2: it's all if you go back old school, I mean,
- 21:48Speaker 2: you go back on YouTube and you put in how
- 21:49Speaker 2: you're doing Yankees, this song comes up. It's it's not
- 21:53Speaker 2: like I can't back that up. I mean we were
- 21:55Speaker 2: in the Yankees magazine.
- 21:56Speaker 3: And stuff like that.
- 21:57Speaker 5: What do you mean you can't back it up? But
- 21:58Speaker 5: there's a song out.
- 21:59Speaker 3: I tried not I came back it. It's when I
- 22:04Speaker 3: say it spun out of it. We signed up. We
- 22:05Speaker 3: signed the deal with Pepsin and we signed the deal
- 22:08Speaker 3: with Mountain Dew. Back in ninety nine, we were doing
- 22:10Speaker 3: do do how you're doing it? Like that's it was going.
- 22:13Speaker 2: It was going there and that's when we said, well
- 22:15Speaker 2: we have the trademark, and we did, and it was
- 22:16Speaker 2: in the process in the trademark, but then it spun
- 22:19Speaker 2: out of control and it was like, you know, like
- 22:21Speaker 2: you can't stop everybody at saying we're using it.
- 22:24Speaker 3: And then when the Williams started it.
- 22:26Speaker 2: And then Imas and then we're like, you know what,
- 22:30Speaker 2: we kind of did this musical comedy stuff.
- 22:32Speaker 3: It's kind of like a platform because we were really
- 22:34Speaker 3: writers and actors, all three of us. Yeah, so it
- 22:37Speaker 3: opened up a lot of doors. And Donnie Ironer and
- 22:40Speaker 3: Tommy Montoma called us into Sony Sony.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Radio Columbia Records when they heard us on the radio
- 22:50Speaker 2: when we did an interview and it was during a
- 22:52Speaker 2: postseason with the Yankees, and they called us in and
- 22:55Speaker 2: they almost signed us a record deal.
- 22:57Speaker 3: This is fact, Like if Donnie Irons not how inter
- 23:00Speaker 3: sees this. It was me, Joey Bowles, Akomano.
- 23:03Speaker 2: We went Downie Ironer's office and he was listening to
- 23:06Speaker 2: Heiding Yankees, said we were jumping.
- 23:08Speaker 3: It was that a loud in his room.
- 23:09Speaker 2: He had Sampoo studio office and he's listening to Let's
- 23:13Speaker 2: give me twenty four hours.
- 23:15Speaker 3: And we didn't get the record deal. But we didn't
- 23:17Speaker 3: get a record dealer. Like a week later the company. Wow,
- 23:20Speaker 3: and like you like forractice, what were we doing? Well?
- 23:24Speaker 4: Could you imagine if you did own the trademark? Well,
- 23:28Speaker 4: you would be rich right now?
- 23:30Speaker 3: Well, not really, because I consulted with a lot of
- 23:34Speaker 3: I consulted with a lot of attorneys, just even recently,
- 23:37Speaker 3: because you could.
- 23:38Speaker 2: You can go back on the trademark on the website,
- 23:41Speaker 2: on the trademark websites, and you'll see that my company
- 23:45Speaker 2: was the one.
- 23:46Speaker 3: That registered it like twenty seven years ago. Now, could
- 23:48Speaker 3: you probably retract that and get that back? Yes, But
- 23:53Speaker 3: the lawyer said, it's not working. It's all this money.
- 23:55Speaker 5: People try to get it. It's gonna say, it's a phrase.
- 23:58Speaker 5: How can you do that?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:59Speaker 3: Yeah, because you've been spelling in so many different how y'all?
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah? How you how?
- 24:04Speaker 3: It just but that truth be told? Yes, that's how
- 24:09Speaker 3: it all.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Isn't that crazy? Yeah?
- 24:11Speaker 3: People thought it was crazy. They thought it was crazy.
- 24:13Speaker 3: They said, how you doing? You can make a song?
- 24:15Speaker 3: How you don't like?
- 24:15Speaker 12: Yeah, like originally started how you Go? I don't remember
- 24:18Speaker 12: its originally started on a C. But I'm not the
- 24:24Speaker 12: sing I wasn't the singing. Jody Bulls was a singer.
- 24:30Speaker 2: All right, So again I'm not I'm not gonna try
- 24:32Speaker 2: to give my best how You're doing? But the original
- 24:34Speaker 2: how You're doing? So before it became a Yankee song,
- 24:37Speaker 2: all right.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Everyone, how you doing? How you doing? Imagine you wake
- 24:42Speaker 3: up from the night going out in the nightclub and
- 24:44Speaker 3: you find the riginal twenty in your in your in
- 24:45Speaker 3: your in your pocket. How you doing? You would talk
- 24:50Speaker 3: about saying genero, we would talk about finding a toy.
- 24:52Speaker 3: I would go the next thing. Everybody found money, the
- 24:54Speaker 3: next thing, like you know, So it was just these
- 24:57Speaker 3: little surprise things that would happen. He just thought, how
- 24:59Speaker 3: you doing?
- 24:59Speaker 5: And who came up with the concept of twelve days
- 25:01Speaker 5: of who Christmas?
- 25:02Speaker 3: I was old. That's old Carmaine and Joe that they
- 25:05Speaker 3: wrote that. They wrote that in like.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Twenty minutes and they wrote that and you sang it
- 25:09Speaker 5: with them.
- 25:10Speaker 3: No, it was Joe Komaoch and they I was going
- 25:14Speaker 3: to see them at day.
- 25:15Speaker 5: They still play it on the radio. They still play it, right, yeah,
- 25:17Speaker 5: they play it.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but we we you know, throughout the years
- 25:20Speaker 2: they started giving us a little shlacking.
- 25:22Speaker 3: They were like, you know, derogatory against Italians.
- 25:24Speaker 5: And I'm like, oh, oh, It was a lot of fun.
- 25:27Speaker 5: And I remember hearing Johnny Goombaugh he used to play it.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yes, it aired on K to You.
- 25:34Speaker 5: We went live on K to You KA to You.
- 25:37Speaker 2: December seventeenth, nineteen ninety eight. We all went into the
- 25:42Speaker 2: studio and we drove into Jersey City to go on
- 25:46Speaker 2: K to You and it was it was Johnny, Michelle
- 25:49Speaker 2: Maussage and and the guys went on and they sang
- 25:53Speaker 2: it live and then and then it went viral and
- 25:55Speaker 2: the switchboard I saw the switchboard and it was ninete eight,
- 25:59Speaker 2: like let up and went they like where can we
- 26:01Speaker 2: get it? Like like, okay, Christmas is next week, bro,
- 26:05Speaker 2: we can't print the CD CD that fast. So again
- 26:09Speaker 2: crazy marketing. I was like, we'll put up a CV
- 26:11Speaker 2: and we'll sell it the CENTRONL And that's what we did,
- 26:13Speaker 2: and the Yankees.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Picked up the boy coach.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Hes got a masters in marketing, No, I just got.
- 26:20Speaker 2: A bachelors in marketing management, well a bachelor's and management, a.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Minor in market I have to play that comes into die.
- 26:30Speaker 5: I have an NBA too.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but again, like I listen, nothing beats like street smarts.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I take I trip, I take growing up in Queens
- 26:39Speaker 2: any day a week, but like me too, you know.
- 26:41Speaker 3: I just I was with a friend of mine who's
- 26:44Speaker 3: a master cake maker, the cake dye, and he said,
- 26:46Speaker 3: you learned more of the seventh trade. Yeah, he did
- 26:49Speaker 3: in four years in high school. That's that's the truth.
- 26:54Speaker 3: That's the truth. And I and that was kind of
- 26:56Speaker 3: like the gateway from like Queens into Manhattan. You would
- 26:59Speaker 3: like pass all these neighborhoods Queens to get to that.
- 27:03Speaker 5: I agree, friends with the cakes and your friends with
- 27:06Speaker 5: the cake and he.
- 27:08Speaker 3: And he spoke very highly about him.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Yeah, he's he's a he's are They're a good fan.
- 27:14Speaker 5: I like their family. They're a nice family. The key closer,
- 27:16Speaker 5: they're really good.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Yeah. And Don and I just I just staid a
- 27:19Speaker 3: little thing with Don because we grew up. We grew
- 27:22Speaker 3: up in Queens and you grew up on off any love.
- 27:24Speaker 3: But you grew up in baseline right Flushing, Flushing, Flushing wits.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I grew up in now a beach star part Queens.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I used to I used to really like to go
- 27:33Speaker 3: to the beach to to you know, flat with each.
- 27:39Speaker 5: That was but that's my smarts key for.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Yes, I used to what I wanted to kind of
- 27:48Speaker 3: like because there was no camera phones, right, so I
- 27:51Speaker 3: kind of want to.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Get out of my neighborhood and like go into like
- 27:53Speaker 2: a neighborhood that I really didn't hang out and they
- 27:55Speaker 2: would you know, they.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Were coming to get the flushing and b stuff cut.
- 27:59Speaker 5: We've built friend all the time. Yeah, we'd always be white.
- 28:02Speaker 3: So we go there.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Well, I know I saw him redundant say this, but
- 28:06Speaker 2: that was you know, that was a social media hanging out.
- 28:11Speaker 3: It was nothing was nothing better.
- 28:13Speaker 4: No, it's just you don't want It's so funny because
- 28:18Speaker 4: I always wanted to go to Howell Beach and I
- 28:20Speaker 4: finally broke my cherry Howard Beach bam bad bad, bad, bad,
- 28:27Speaker 4: bad bad bad.
- 28:29Speaker 5: Finally, however, came to my house. Yeah, I got went
- 28:33Speaker 5: to the house.
- 28:34Speaker 4: Yeah, you had to come over there, and I had
- 28:35Speaker 4: the Italian ice there, Yes, boulevard, Yes, what it's what's
- 28:39Speaker 4: the name of that?
- 28:40Speaker 5: Luigi unbelievable, un believed. I love it, like Luigi's you
- 28:45Speaker 5: better sponsor me, Luigi.
- 28:47Speaker 4: I wanted an Italian ice every times.
- 28:50Speaker 3: But I mean, because I grew up betweens a thing
- 28:52Speaker 3: used to know Southern Oh, I know, man, I know
- 28:56Speaker 3: the things because I I I would take to do
- 28:59Speaker 3: my mother would.
- 29:03Speaker 5: I actually met the owner.
- 29:06Speaker 4: I just recently met the owner, the woman pretty lady's door.
- 29:10Speaker 5: And she was like, oh, you've never been to the
- 29:12Speaker 5: I said no, I was never there. Yeah, you gotta
- 29:14Speaker 5: we gotta take you to the box.
- 29:16Speaker 3: I should take wanted to take you to the box side.
- 29:19Speaker 5: Oh my god, on the box and.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Trying to like trying to combine forces and like trying
- 29:28Speaker 2: to maybe like build the time machine and back.
- 29:31Speaker 5: I would love to. I need to go back for
- 29:34Speaker 5: a visit. Hey, hey guys, Hey guys, I got a plan.
- 29:39Speaker 5: Let's go back back back in. We should be doing
- 29:50Speaker 5: a freestyle song and like the intermission of the ah
- 29:53Speaker 5: Way and I remember and I I'll get Brenda to
- 30:01Speaker 5: come on Brenda will come on star and we'll get well.
- 30:04Speaker 5: But now she's named Bombing. I'm named Bombing. My clients
- 30:08Speaker 5: tray get talenting. Oh hey, listen.
- 30:20Speaker 2: You reas just like growing up like today like to
- 30:22Speaker 2: like some girl and like the supermark and just like
- 30:25Speaker 2: like naming like songs.
- 30:26Speaker 5: And you're like you know, and I'll be like looking
- 30:31Speaker 5: at you, like what do you want on land?
- 30:33Speaker 3: If you really want to.
- 30:35Speaker 5: I'm hungry people love. You know what I'm hungry for
- 30:40Speaker 5: for your love?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Listen you can always you know, always like listen Alicia.
- 30:49Speaker 5: At least you would you get her? And Julie Torres
- 30:52Speaker 5: said she would do it.
- 30:54Speaker 4: She love. Yeah, sybe, we should do an inter vision of.
- 30:59Speaker 5: Freestyle every time.
- 31:00Speaker 2: And we have a little that's a great idea and
- 31:03Speaker 2: pocket DeLorean outside just hopping the.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Del No, we needed Caddy with true spolkes and Volks nice,
- 31:09Speaker 4: that's right, a little with Rome.
- 31:12Speaker 2: But I think I think Frankie Loop was more caddy
- 31:14Speaker 2: and like and like how the beach they were going
- 31:16Speaker 2: into the rivieras because every.
- 31:18Speaker 11: Time I met a girl that had a rivy, they're like,
- 31:21Speaker 11: we have riviers, but do we have caddies too?
- 31:23Speaker 5: Spokes, true spokes folks. Yeah, what was your favorite? Let
- 31:26Speaker 5: me just have a great one thing in the rabba.
- 31:29Speaker 5: What was you You could pick your one time, all
- 31:31Speaker 5: time favorite freestyl song?
- 31:33Speaker 3: What was it? My My all favorite?
- 31:36Speaker 5: Probably India? Which one is that?
- 31:40Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 31:41Speaker 5: How's it go on the fire?
- 31:45Speaker 3: Yeah? What you was?
- 31:51Speaker 2: Well, it wasn't a freestyle Songbody was considered a freestyle song.
- 31:53Speaker 2: It was from a group of information society.
- 31:57Speaker 5: That's a and running so hard to find that's so freestyle.
- 32:05Speaker 3: No, no, really they were.
- 32:06Speaker 5: They were kind of like a very Uh I did
- 32:08Speaker 5: what maybe techno.
- 32:12Speaker 3: Em em what they call em electric music?
- 32:15Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, but they hit that.
- 32:19Speaker 2: But if you listen to that song now, it doesn't
- 32:22Speaker 2: get old. No, it's like everybody's running so hard to
- 32:26Speaker 2: find it. So again every freestyle song. And I was
- 32:29Speaker 2: just telling a friend of one of this thing.
- 32:32Speaker 5: It's true.
- 32:34Speaker 3: It was.

- 34:34Speaker 4: So glad because I would have. I was into it
- 34:37Speaker 4: and I was there for one hundred percent. If I
- 34:39Speaker 4: feel like I'm not anywhere one hundred percent anymore but
- 34:42Speaker 4: my phone. That's so even the way I watch a
- 34:45Speaker 4: concert because I want.
- 34:46Speaker 5: To look at it again, and do I really look
- 34:48Speaker 5: at it again? The whole time I'm going like this
