- 0:00Speaker 1: I am Sherry Mackie and his time right now for
- 0:03Speaker 1: today's word. Guard your ear, guard your destiny. Guard your ear,
- 0:11Speaker 1: guard your destiny. Psalms one twenty five and four says,
- 0:16Speaker 1: Oh Lord, do good to those who are good, whose
- 0:19Speaker 1: hearts are in tune with you. You know what you
- 0:23Speaker 1: listen to will shape what you believe, and what you
- 0:26Speaker 1: believe will determine how you live. That's why guarding your
- 0:30Speaker 1: ear is guarding your destiny. David understood this even as
- 0:35Speaker 1: a young shepherd boy. When the prophet Samuel came to
- 0:39Speaker 1: annoy the next king of Israel, David wasn't even invited
- 0:43Speaker 1: to the lineup. His own father didn't think he was
- 0:46Speaker 1: qualified enough to be considered. Imagine the sting of that rejection.
- 0:52Speaker 1: The message was clear, you're not king material. Then came
- 0:58Speaker 1: his oldest brother, Eliab, who criticized him when he showed
- 1:03Speaker 1: up at the battlefield. Eliab belittled him, questioned his motives,
- 1:07Speaker 1: and tried to make him feel small. Later, when David
- 1:12Speaker 1: told King Saul he wanted to fight Goliath, Saul dismissed
- 1:16Speaker 1: him outright, You're just a boy. Those were powerful voices family, authority, leadership.
- 1:24Speaker 1: If David had allowed those words to settle in his spirit,
- 1:29Speaker 1: and security would have replaced courage. Doubt would have replaced destiny.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Israel might have remained under the shadow of a giant.
- 1:39Speaker 1: But David tuned out the noise and tuned in to God.
- 1:44Speaker 1: He remembered the lion and the bear. He remembered God's faithfulness.
- 1:48Speaker 1: He remembered the private victories that proved he was equipped
- 1:53Speaker 1: for the public battle. David understood something we've all got
- 1:57Speaker 1: to learn. Not every voice deserves access to your heart.
- 2:02Speaker 1: The enemy often uses people, not always bad people either,
- 2:07Speaker 1: sometimes even well meaning people to plant seeds of doubt.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You're not ready yet, you're not qualified, you don't have
- 2:16Speaker 1: what it takes. Stay where you are, and if you
- 2:20Speaker 1: entertain those voices long enough, they will shrink your vision.
- 2:24Speaker 1: But here's the truth. You would not be facing a
- 2:27Speaker 1: giant if you were not already equipped to defeat that giant.
- 2:31Speaker 1: The size of your opposition is a clue to the
- 2:34Speaker 1: size of your calling. If the obstacle were too big,
- 2:38Speaker 1: God would not have allowed you to stand in front
- 2:42Speaker 1: of it. When your heart is in tune with God,
- 2:46Speaker 1: his voice becomes louder than the critics. His promises become
- 2:50Speaker 1: stronger than public opinion. His calling outweighs comparison. You can't
- 2:55Speaker 1: control who talks, but you can control who you shoes
- 3:00Speaker 1: to listen to. Tune out the negativity, tune out the fear.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Tune out the labels and the limitations others try to
- 3:08Speaker 1: place on you. Tune into what God says. You know
- 3:11Speaker 1: what he says about you. He says you're chosen. He
- 3:14Speaker 1: says you're anointed. He says you're capable, he says you're equipped.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You are not just surviving battles. You are assigned to
- 3:21Speaker 1: win those battles. So guard your ear because your destiny
- 3:25Speaker 1: is too important to let the wrong voices define it.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Oh Father, God, help us to guard our hearts and
- 3:31Speaker 1: our minds from voices that discourage and distract us from
- 3:35Speaker 1: your purpose for our lives. Teach us to tune in
- 3:38Speaker 1: to your truth above all else. God, we declare that
- 3:41Speaker 1: we're equipped, anointed, and prepared for every giant we've got
- 3:44Speaker 1: to face. And God, we will not be limited by
- 3:47Speaker 1: human opinion. We will be led by your promise in
- 3:50Speaker 1: Jesus' name. Now that's your word for today. Take it
- 3:54Speaker 1: applied to your everyday life. You're Inside the party, your
