- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac studios, the Mark Simone Show. Hey,
- 0:07Speaker 1: let's take some calls. Let's go to Jamie, Columbus, Ohio. Jamie,
- 0:11Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hey, Mark. Great show. I have a question about these
- 0:17Speaker 2: executions that these states try to do. Why don't they
- 0:21Speaker 2: just use the 25-cent bullet?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Why do they.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Still try to use it.
- 0:27Speaker 1: He's talking about this woman, two lethal doses, death penalty,
- 0:35Speaker 1: lethal injections. She survived both of them. I guess they're
- 0:38Speaker 1: trying to be humane. It's not Iran. You can't take
- 0:41Speaker 1: somebody out and shoot them.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 0:46Speaker 1: You'd have to have a firing squad. You can't do that.
- 0:49Speaker 2: No, no. But do it in a way where You know,
- 0:54Speaker 2: there's four guns with, and one has a bullet, and
- 0:59Speaker 2: pretty much they don't know where it actually.
- 1:02Speaker 1: All right, but it's, you know, we're too woke now.
- 1:06Speaker 1: We're too soft now. You can't shoot.
- 1:08Speaker 3: I see.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, but it's a good question, Jamie. Thanks
- 1:10Speaker 1: for calling. Yeah, they gave her the lethal injection, and
- 1:14Speaker 1: she survived. So they gave her another lethal injection. And
- 1:20Speaker 1: she survived. I don't know what you're going to do.
- 1:21Speaker 1: I would take her over there to the Carnegie Deli,
- 1:24Speaker 1: get her one of those nine-foot pastrami sandwiches and the cheesecake.
- 1:27Speaker 1: They give you a piece of cheesecake that is so big.
- 1:29Speaker 1: See if she'll survive that. Actually, it's delicious. It's great.
- 1:34Speaker 1: The new Carnegie. I did eat there finally. Big pastrami sandwich.
- 1:40Speaker 1: The cheesecake is the finest cheesecake you'll ever have. It
- 1:42Speaker 1: was unbelievable. Ate the whole thing. Now, for two days,
- 1:45Speaker 1: my stomach was like lead, but it's worth it. It's delicious.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Let's go to Dana in Poughkeepsie. Dana, how are you doing?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Good.
- 1:55Speaker 2: How are you?
- 1:56Speaker 1: Very good.
- 1:56Speaker 3: So I have a question. So most of the people
- 2:01Speaker 3: who are Trump opponents keep talking about, oh, he's in
- 2:05Speaker 3: the Epstein files, calling him a pedophile. And I know,
- 2:11Speaker 3: like you just said, there's so many people named in there.
- 2:14Speaker 3: It's just an email.
- 2:16Speaker 1: They keep bringing up the Epstein files. Trump has nothing
- 2:19Speaker 1: to do with sex with Epstein. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. And
- 2:21Speaker 1: he's in the Epstein files a million times. But all
- 2:24Speaker 1: it says is that Epstein hated his guts. They were enemies.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Epstein is bad-mouthing him all through the files. Epstein is
- 2:30Speaker 1: working with Michael Wolff and others trying to bring down Trump.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I saw one reference in there, though, that said, Has
- 2:37Speaker 3: some lady that said she wanted to know why nothing
- 2:39Speaker 3: was being done in regards to information she provided about
- 2:44Speaker 3: Trump saying he's a monster and he was actively recruiting
- 2:47Speaker 3: girls with Epstein. But the person's name is, it's a woman. Yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 3: I know. How come her name is redacted?
- 2:54Speaker 1: Because, well, it was totally debunked. What is that other one?
- 2:56Speaker 1: Virginia Giuffre also totally debunked. She finally confessed that the
- 3:02Speaker 1: story she was telling wasn't true. Yeah, no, Trump is totally,
- 3:05Speaker 1: totally exonerated by the Epstein files. Not only do they
- 3:08Speaker 1: have nothing to do with all that, but if you
- 3:10Speaker 1: read the files, and everybody should go read them, Epstein
- 3:13Speaker 1: hated Trump. They were bitter enemies.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Hated Trump, right?
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 1: He wasn't too crazy about you either, but he hated Trump.
- 3:20Speaker 3: That's okay.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And what do you do up there in Poughkeepsie, Dana?
- 3:25Speaker 3: Actually, I'm a financial writer.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Very good.
- 3:28Speaker 3: I work remotely, but I used to work at Bloomberg, actually,
- 3:30Speaker 3: in the city.
- 3:31Speaker 1: That's a nice place to work. Don't they have the
- 3:33Speaker 1: best cafeteria in the world?
- 3:35Speaker 3: Yes, yes. It's like a casino. You touch a button,
- 3:38Speaker 3: someone's cleaning it, 19 types of waters and everything.
- 3:42Speaker 1: You could want. 47 food stations, the finest of everything
- 3:45Speaker 1: you've ever seen. All right, Dana, great call. Thanks for calling.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Let's go to Joe in Lincoln Park. Joe, how are
- 3:51Speaker 1: you doing?
- 3:53Speaker 4: Hey, Mark, a pleasure. Good longtime listener. Hey, Patterson, where
- 3:58Speaker 4: I grew up in the 50s and 60s, is now
- 4:01Speaker 4: called Little Palestine. I don't know if you've been there
- 4:04Speaker 4: or heard anything about it. It's got a Muslim mayor.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Everything is.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Well, you get those now and then. Dearborn, Michigan used
- 4:11Speaker 1: to be Henry Ford, the Ford Motor Company. Now it's
- 4:13Speaker 1: like the same thing. It's all like crazies that vote
- 4:16Speaker 1: for wacko politicians.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yeah, but they have they have minarets calling to prayer
- 4:21Speaker 4: that I can hear all the way up the hill
- 4:23Speaker 4: in Wayne.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Well, that's why you should get a data center. It
- 4:26Speaker 1: will drown them out. You won't have them anymore.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Anyway, thanks for calling. Good call. Let's go to Vincent
- 4:32Speaker 1: in Brooklyn. Vincent, how are you doing?
- 4:34Speaker 5: I'm okay, Mark. I guess you were referring to also
- 4:38Speaker 5: this past weekend– A 41-year-old father was killed by an
- 4:44Speaker 5: e-bike in Central Park. Apparently, they had made the e-bike
- 4:51Speaker 5: lanes bigger. Before, there was only one. Now, they've made
- 4:55Speaker 5: them two, and they reduced the pedestrian walkway. And the
- 5:00Speaker 5: way I see it is, as you said, they have
- 5:02Speaker 5: to put some teeth into this legislation now. and really
- 5:06Speaker 5: follow it because apparently DoorDash and Uber Eats got to
- 5:13Speaker 5: members of the city council because they wanted to write
- 5:18Speaker 5: a much stronger law, the city council. And, of course,
- 5:24Speaker 5: money got involved and money talks, unfortunately, and we have
- 5:31Speaker 5: every day. I mean, yesterday I heard it on... The
- 5:35Speaker 5: news on your show that 500 people last year were
- 5:40Speaker 5: injured by.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Oh, it's way more than that. But, Vincent, great call.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Great point. We'll get back to that, too. It's a
- 5:46Speaker 1: great point. When we come back, the very funny Jimmy Fallon.
- 5:50Speaker 1: He'll be with us next on 710WOR.
