- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jack Wars fans welcome in to do vault daily presented by Jim Jack.com and fueled by brass tax coffee right now we are talking the most underrated aspect of the Jacksonville Jack Wars and to me the Jack Wars are underrated in a lot of ways right this is a team that won 13 games last year there's a lot of talent on the roster I think their roster is underrated overall I think when you look top to bottom they are a top 10 roster in the NFL
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: But in my opinion, what makes them the most underrated or is the most underrated aspect?
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: Is the coaching staff?
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: The coaching staff in my opinion takes a top 10 roster and puts them in a position to potentially be a top three to five team in the NFL and a given week.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's going to push into January.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to potentially push into February very soon.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: If this coaching staff is able to stick together, I think that they have one of the best chances in the AFC, right?
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: Just this year, I think that one of the best chances in the AFC to win the whole Dan conference are really do.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: They're right up there at the top for me.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: And again, very good roster, elite coaching staff.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think this coaching staff is second to none across the NFL.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like there might be a better offensive coach than Liam Cohen, or Sean McVay, Kyle Shanahan, whatever.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: There might be a better defensive coordinator, defensive coach than Anthony Campanylei.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: There might be a better special team's coordinator than he far well, but there is not a better grouping of three in my opinion in the NFL.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: And this coaching staff is what makes the Jack Wars have the opportunity to potentially win their conference to win a tough AFC South, right?
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to get into a really appreciate y'all being here.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: When we talk about this coaching staff with Liam Cohen, there's a lot to it.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's an excellent motivator and just top level like leader in the building.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that was the one question you didn't really know much about.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you saw what he did at Kentucky as an offensive coach.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: You saw what he did with Baker, may feel in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: You knew he had the chops as an offensive coach.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously he had to prove that he could do that and be a head coach.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I think he did that in the biggest way possible.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Excellent motivator, fiery guy.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a huge part of it.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: But from an offensive standpoint, I think some of the most important things about what he did for the Jaguar's Offences, first of all, like attention to detail.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: There is greater attention to detail with this offense than any offense that I've seen in Jacksonville, Bar none, not even close.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think that,
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: the preparation week to week is huge too like I just think Trevor Lawrence and the entire offense now their ability to get to the line of scrimmage when they get there they already have an idea if the defense is showing this which they are probably likely to show given their tendencies
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: then we can can the play and get to this play.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: And if they adjust to that, then we can cannot get to the next, like just the coaching, the players, and giving them the answers, or the ability to find the answers is huge.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: And more attention to detail stuff, just like with the dropback game with Trevor Lawrence, really marrying the progressions to the footwork, is something that should be done with every coaching staff, but it hadn't been done at that level in Jacksonville before, with Trevor Lawrence.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, getting the most out of the offensive line in past protection, they did a really good job with that group last year.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just teaching too, like that's a huge part of coaching, is communicating in a way that players can take it from the meeting room and put it on the practice field.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's a big part of it too.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I think Liam Cohen is just dynamite.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's just like also the play calling aspect of it and play design aspect of it, all of that is there too.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: But I think just the attention to detail and preparation,
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: is the biggest difference you've seen, honestly, knowing what you're probably going to be presented, knowing how the opponent knows what you think they're probably going to present, and knowing what they might change to based on that information as well.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's huge.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: And then you look at Anthony Campanile,
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: everybody, you know, everybody will give Cohen and Campany like credit because, well, you took an offense that was performing at this level and you got them performing at this level, but it's like about the actual lie of it.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: And with Anthony Campany like, to me, the lie of it is multifaceted, everything's intentional, but you have, from the corner back position,
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: basically a five to seven yard on average off zone coverage look, but then what changes is the second and third level defenders in the middle of the field, the linebackers and the safeties, that that look changes post snap often.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: You think you're seeing this, you're actually seeing this as a quarterback, right?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: You
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's actually cover one.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: You think that you're seeing a linebacker blitzing, he's actually dropping back into the second level of the defense.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: You think that you have a safety in the box that's going to be coming downhill for the run.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: He's actually ready to drop back and get to the third level of the defense quickly.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: All of these different moving parts of the second and third level up the spine of the defense.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think are what's so impressive with Anthony Camponele.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: upfront you just have a smorgas board of different looks that he will throw at you week to week, game to game quarter to quarter, drive to drive where it's like you really don't know what's coming at times and he's got the right guys to do that to execute that I think upfront right now.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's from a kind of exesino's big picture standpoint, what makes Camp Nealais special, a variety of defensive fronts that marry with the coverage really well in the coverage being mostly static on the outside boundary, but very, very dynamic and a lot of post-snap coverage rotation at the second and third level.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: And even at the first level.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: So that's to me really impressive.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then you want to run through a brick wall for this guy every time he talks to the team, like special type of leadership qualities, you just love the guy as a player.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: And then again, the teaching.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is probably the most complex defense we've seen in Jacksonville.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: ever?
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: I gotta go back and think about it.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I don't think you've seen a more complex offense or defensive system in Jacksonville.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: but players making the fewest amount of mental mistakes.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: And now, there were a lot of pre-snap mental mistakes by the Jaguar's offense early on last year.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: It took a minute, but they got there.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: They got there.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then defensively, just the least amount of mental mistakes you've seen by a Jaguar's defense in a very long time.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: Again, despite having a lot of different moving parts going on at all three levels,
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: that's really impressive.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then again, do not forget about Heath Farwell, who is one of the best special teams coaches in the league.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: He coaches a great group, but he gets the most out of these guys.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: And he also has an input and scouting for special teams in a big way.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: So he's got to give give him that credit.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's a fire, fire, energetic guy.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: He's now like a he got a promotion beyond just special teams coordinator this year So yeah, I think that Heath is awesome and then Beyond that you have all of these younger coaches or you know coaches down the totem pole a little bit Who can tribute at a very high level and then also like all the analytics stuff that the Jaguars do
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: is huge.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then the strengthening addition in coaching is top level as well.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I think across the board, you look at the Jaguar's coaching staff and this gives them a huge advantage.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it's even better than it was last year.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_00]: I really think adding Matthew or Rujo as the secondary, you know, past game coordinator is huge, basically cornerbacks
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: And then, Brian Picucci is the Rung Game Coordinator on offense, I think, is huge.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: So, they're coaching staff had the potential to get torn apart by Coordinators getting head coaching jobs.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_00]: That did not happen fortunately for the Jaguars.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: If they play again this year, the way they played last year and coach the same way.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, continue to push the envelope.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: You're probably going to say goodbye to at least one of those guys,
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: or you didn't ski, then you also have guys that I think are position coaches that have potential to be coordinators.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of that on the defensive side of the ball.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Shane Waldron's had his opportunities already as a coordinator could he get another opportunity again in the future, maybe.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: But I think the Jaguars are definitely trying to keep him around.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Spencer Whipple could be a coordinator at some point, but that remains to be seen, but defensively.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: Matthew or Rujo, he feels like a potential defense of coordinator.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think Tim Lucobbo feels like a potential defensive coordinator in the NFL as well, the linebackers coach.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: So there's just a lot of talent in this building on the field and in the coaching staff.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: So that to me is the thing that just people don't talk about enough.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: and the off-season is the coaching.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I think how special the Jaguar's coaching staff is is going to help elevate them through this second season where they are trying to attack.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think that their great coaches, again, from an exasinose and schematic and kind of preparation standpoint, but also the teaching and the connecting with the players is really a huge part of it.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: So
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I am really fired up that, you know, obviously you won't camp to go get a head coaching job and you then ski and do the best for them and what's best for their families and their careers.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: But for the Jaguars in 2026, I am so happy to see those guys back.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: I absolutely am.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
