- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:02Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:05where we left off with the New York Times article
- 0:08about the relationship between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein once again.
- 0:13The authors of this article are Nicholas Confessor and Julie
- 0:18Tait Sex talk and office hours. Sometimes the phone would
- 0:22ring in mister Trump's office at Trump Tower. The caller,
- 0:25the mysterious Jeffrey, as mister Trump described him in a
- 0:29two thousand and four book of business Advice, never gave
- 0:32a last name, nor did he need to, mister Trump wrote.
- 0:36A few times a week, the phone would ring in
- 0:38mister Epstein's office in the Villard Houses on Madison Avenue.
- 0:42Mister Trump would be on the line. On one occasion,
- 0:45recalled an Epstein assistant from the mid nineties, Mister Trump
- 0:49refused to give any name at all. The White House
- 0:52spokeswoman declined to say whether mister Trump book was referring
- 0:55to a different Jeffrey, but the two talked at least
- 0:58three times a week during the mid late nineties, According
- 1:01to a second Epstein assistant from the period. The first assistant,
- 1:06who often worked late recalled that sometimes that when the
- 1:09office emptied out, mister Epstein would check to see that
- 1:12she was at her desk and put mister Trump on speaker.
- 1:15Mister Trump, she said, seemed to enjoy regalling mister Epstein
- 1:19with tales of his sexual exploits, and mister Epstein seemed
- 1:22to delight and how uncomfortable it made her to overhear them.
- 1:26And that's a power play, for sure. That's what people do.
- 1:29Right I'm on the phone with this guy. Let me
- 1:32put it on speaker so I can flex and show
- 1:34exactly the kind of power that me and my buddies
- 1:36have over women. And it's something that Epstein did quite
- 1:39a bit. She remembered one call in the mid nineties
- 1:43on which the two men discussed how much pubic hair
- 1:45a particular woman had and whether there was enough for
- 1:48mister Epstein to floss his teeth with. Like, what, hold on,
- 1:52wait a minute, talking about floss in your teeth with
- 1:56pubic hair? You sick, disgusting piece of garbage. What sort
- 2:00of degenerate mind even thinks up something like that? Have
- 2:03you ever been sitting around saying to yourself, you know what,
- 2:06I bet I could lost my teeth with someone's pubic hair.
- 2:08The whole last thing is just weird and disgusting. On another,
- 2:12mister Trump told mister Epstein about having sex with another
- 2:15woman on a pool table. The former assistant said, and look,
- 2:19I'm not going to sit here and tell you that
- 2:21any of this is criminal. We don't know, we have
- 2:24no idea, but it's the kind of conversations that in
- 2:28the past would have sunk somebody if they were president.
- 2:31So have we fallen that far as a society where
- 2:33this kind of thing is just okay because it's your guy.
- 2:39That is some wild shit. Because I promise you right now,
- 2:42if this was Joe Biden who had this conversation with
- 2:46Jeffrey Epstein, we would never heard the end of it.
- 2:49The same people that told us about Tom Hanks and
- 2:51Adreno chrome would have been talking about reptilians and you
- 2:55name it. But now those same people are making excuses
- 2:59for this kind of behavior from Donald Trump. None of
- 3:02it's okay and all of it's disgusting. A woman known
- 3:06in court records as Jane Doe, who mister Epstein traffic
- 3:09during the mid nineties, beginning in her early years, testified
- 3:12in Miss Maxwell's criminal trial in twenty twenty one, that
- 3:15Epstein often put famous friends on speakerphone in front of
- 3:19other people. And that's what I was talking about previously.
- 3:23That's something that Jeffrey Epstein did quite a bit. According
- 3:26to a lot of reports, the cause with mister Trump
- 3:28continued through the later years of the men's friendship. According
- 3:31to a third former employee who worked for mister Epstein
- 3:34on and off through most of the two thousands and
- 3:37also recalled them putting mister Trump on speaker, they would
- 3:41talk about pageants or modeling shows for which countries women
- 3:44were in vogue in the fashion world. Sometimes, the third
- 3:47employee said, mister Trump went on so long that mister Epstein,
- 3:51whose attention span was famously short, would leave the room
- 3:54while his friend was still talking. That certainly tracks certainly
- 3:58the kind of thing that Epstein did. And if you
- 4:01think that Jeffrey Epstein was impressed by Donald Trump, you're crazy.
- 4:05At this point, Jeffrey Epstein was more powerful than Donald Trump.
- 4:08Keep that in mind. Trump might have had a few bucks,
- 4:11but he wasn't protected like Jeffrey Epstein was. Maria Farmer,
- 4:15an artist who said that she was sexually assaulted by
- 4:18miss Maxwell and mister Epstein during the mid nineteen nineties,
- 4:22till the Times in twenty nineteen that mister Epstein had
- 4:25one summoned her to meet mister Trump at the Villard
- 4:28House's office. Mister Trump leered at her, she said, before
- 4:31mister Epstein informed him that she is not for you.
- 4:35And I remember Maria telling me that directly, and she
- 4:37also said it in the interview that I did with
- 4:39her both times. So there's no doubt in my mind
- 4:43that Trump was around quite a bit. I think the
- 4:46only thing that we don't know now for sure is
- 4:49how deep it ran, and if Trump was involved in
- 4:52any kind of criminal behavior, well other than the cover up,
- 4:55because that's certainly happening. I don't even think that's a debate.
- 5:00This summer, a spokesman from mister Trump denied that the
- 5:03President had ever set foot in mister Epstein's office. The
- 5:07first former assistant, though, recall mister Trump meeting there briefly
- 5:10with mister Epstein at least several times during the mid nineties.
- 5:14Her account was supported by Mark Epstein, mister Epstein's brother,
- 5:18who said that Jeffrey had told him that mister Trump
- 5:20visited very frequently, and Mark Epstein has been adamant about
- 5:24that for years now. He's talked about how Jeffrey Epstein
- 5:27and Donald Trump were very close. And it's not just
- 5:30Mark Epstein saying it. We have a lot of people
- 5:33who have come forward now and who have corroborated the story.
- 5:37He was at the office all the time back then,
- 5:38mister Epstein said in an interview with The Times Daily.
- 5:42Handwritten notes kept by the first former assistant and reviewed
- 5:45by the Times suggests that mister Trump was a regular
- 5:48presence in mister Epstein's life. The notes, spanning several months
- 5:52in the late nineteen ninety four, have not been previously reported. Well,
- 5:56that's interesting, and I'm guessing they're talking about Leslie Groff here?
- 6:01Is that who they interviewed? Who else could it be?
- 6:06Some pages contain instructions to call mister Trump or return
- 6:09his call. One note reminded the assistant to call mister
- 6:12Trump's office to see if he was flying to Florida tomorrow.
- 6:15Another recorded that a package would be arriving with an
- 6:19invitation tomorrow. Lago events. On one page of instructions about
- 6:24invitations for an upcoming party, mister Trump was to be invited,
- 6:29but only if his ex wife, Havanna, with whom Miss
- 6:32Maxwell was friendly, declined. Their relationship was riddled with undertones
- 6:37of envy and disdain. Mister Epstein seemed to hold a
- 6:40low opinion of his friend's business acumen, according to the
- 6:43former employees and others who knew him. Well, that's par
- 6:47for the course. Epstein didn't have friends, He had people
- 6:50that he could use and climb on. And if Trump
- 6:53was dumb enough to think he was friends with Epstein,
- 6:55more's the pity. On one occasion around two thousand and one,
- 6:59the third four employee said mister Epstein was annoyed after
- 7:02mister Trump called him. He later told the employee that
- 7:05mister Trump was short on cash and wanted to ride
- 7:08on mister Epstein's plane. Well, Trump certainly was going through
- 7:12some money problems back in the day when everything failed
- 7:15up in Atlantic City, you know, when people were pressing
- 7:18for their debts to be repaid. Trump certainly was in
- 7:22a crunch. Now, did he have any kind of business
- 7:24with Epstein as far as financial, I don't know, but
- 7:27it seems likely. And that's another reason that I think
- 7:31Trump is so worried about the files coming out, he
- 7:33knows that he might be exposed by his financial dealings
- 7:36with Jeffrey Epstein. During the early years of their friendship,
- 7:40mister Trump was racing toward a reckoning over the billions
- 7:43of dollars he had borrowed to assemble his struggling empire,
- 7:46including casinos, hotels, an airline, and a yacht. According to
- 7:51former Epstein employees, mister Trump seemed attracted to the financier's
- 7:55wealth and business network, especially because Trump couldn't get loans
- 7:59at the time. Nobody was going to offer him money.
- 8:02So where's he going to get that money? You go
- 8:04to a guy like Jeffrey fucking Epstein. You want to
- 8:07talk about a middleman, You want to talk about somebody
- 8:09that has access to billions. You're looking at him. It's
- 8:16unclear whether mister Epstein, who ostensibly specialized in offering tax
- 8:20and estate planning for wealthy clients, helped mister Trump navigate
- 8:24his financial problems, but in his twenty twenty memoir of
- 8:28representing Epstein victims relentless pursuit, the Florida lawyer Bradley J.
- 8:33Edwards wrote that mister Epstein had claimed to some young
- 8:35women that he had bailed his friend out of bankruptcy.
- 8:39Boys and girls, that is bad news for Donald Trump
- 8:42if that's the case. Was that money declared, did he
- 8:45pay taxes on it? Where did that money originate? Did
- 8:48it originate from a place of criminality? All of these
- 8:52things you're going to have to be explored. Even as
- 8:56he dismissed mister Trump's stillmaking, mister Epstein, who could be
- 8:59socially offered at other people's parties, seemed to admire his
- 9:03friend's brash confidence and access to higher realms of nightlife
- 9:06and celebrity. He frequently mentioned his friendship with mister Trump,
- 9:10according to several accusers, telling one he had a bedroom
- 9:14reserved at Mar a Lago. Take that with a grain
- 9:16of salt. Epstein was certainly a liar, So we have
- 9:19to take things that he said with a grain of salt.
- 9:22And there's no doubt about that. Does that mean everything
- 9:25he said was bullshit? No? And how do we know, Well,
- 9:28we have to use evidence to back up the comments
- 9:31he's making. Even after they fell out, mister Epstein kept
- 9:34a framed photo of himself with mister Trump and his
- 9:36future third wife, Malanya, on a credenza in his upper
- 9:40east side dining room. And you have to understand that
- 9:43the pictures on the walls at Epstein's house was like
- 9:45a menagerie, right, That was his collection of people that
- 9:49he felt he had power over. I mean, do we
- 9:51have to talk about Bill Clinton in the blue dress? Well,
- 9:54you think Epstein just did that out of the blue?
- 9:57Does the power play folks? Just like the picture Trump
- 10:00on this credenza the party circuit. A few years into
- 10:05mister Trump's friendship with mister Epstein, Avonna Trump filed for divorce.
- 10:11Mister Trump's affair with Marlon Maples, a former pageant contestant,
- 10:14was running hot and cold. In ninety two, he invited
- 10:18NBC Tomorrow Lago to shoot a video for a feature
- 10:21about his post divorce life on the talk show A
- 10:23Closer Look. I love beautiful women, I love going out
- 10:27with beautiful women, and I love women in general, he
- 10:30said in the footage, And look nothing wrong with that. Hell,
- 10:33I love beautiful women, I love going out with beautiful women,
- 10:36I love being around them, and I'm sure that most
- 10:38heterosexual males out there feel the same way. But at
- 10:41the same time, I don't look at women as a
- 10:44piece of meat. Or something to be conquered. They're my equals,
- 10:48my peers, my friends, my sister, my wife, whatever. But
- 10:52these sons of bitches, they have a whole different outlook
- 10:54on life, and they look at people as commodities, as
- 10:57opposed to people. So there's nothing wrong with liking beautiful
- 11:01women and wanting to be around them. There's something completely
- 11:04and utterly wrong with abusing them. The cameras captured him
- 11:08and mister Epstein at the Palm Beach estate, surrounded by
- 11:11cheerleaders from the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills. In the video,
- 11:15mister Trump grabs a smiling woman from the rear and
- 11:18pass her on the behind. In another clip, he appears
- 11:21to point toward women on the dance floor and mister
- 11:24Epstein doubles over, laughing at something his friend whispered. Can
- 11:28you imagine what kind of vile nonsense these two guys
- 11:31were talking about. In January of ninety three, mister Trump
- 11:34held another party at mar A Lago, this one to
- 11:36kick off a beauty pageant he was bringing to Atlantic
- 11:39City with two business partners, George Harrainy and Jill Harth.
- 11:44Two dozen or so potential contestants were flown in to
- 11:47meet mister Trump. The only other guest at the party,
- 11:51mister Horny told The Times in twenty nineteen, was mister Epstein.
- 11:56But remember, folks, they weren't that close, right, They weren't friends.
- 12:00Hardly knew the guy, never saw him, certainly never hung
- 12:02out with him. And this is what I'm talking about
- 12:05with Trump lying to everybody's face. You can say that
- 12:09you didn't do anything wrong, you can say you didn't
- 12:11do anything criminal, but you can't try and recreate history.
- 12:14We all know what happened. We all know that you
- 12:16guys were close, and it's all documented. So if you're
- 12:19lying about that, what else are you lying about? Daring
- 12:23dinner that night? Miss Heart alleged in a ninety seven lawsuit,
- 12:26mister Trump groped her under the table, then cornered her
- 12:29in a bedroom normally used by his daughter Yvanka, and
- 12:32forcibly kissed, fondled, and restrained her from leaving. And that
- 12:36lawsuit was filed in ninety seven, long before Trump was
- 12:39quote unquote a target of a Democrat hoax. So what's
- 12:44the answer to that? Just gonna write it off, No
- 12:47big deal. These kinds of things happen well, if you're
- 12:51a scumbag, maybe later in the pre dawn hours, she
- 12:55alleged in the suit, mister Trump also sneaked into a
- 12:58bedroom being used by a twenty two year old contestant,
- 13:01climbing onto her bed uninvited. He groped her too, according
- 13:05to the suit. Mister Trump has denied the allegations by
- 13:08Miss Harth, who declined to comment. The pageant partnership later fizzled,
- 13:12leading mister Horney to separately sue mister Trump in ninety
- 13:16five for breach of contract. Miss Harth said she withdrew
- 13:19her subsequent harassment lawsuit as a condition for settling the
- 13:23contract dispute. She went on to briefly date mister Trump,
- 13:27that whole situation's odd. I don't know enough about that
- 13:30to break it down, but we have to keep in
- 13:32mind there are people out there that are looking for
- 13:34a bag, people that are gonna make all kinds of
- 13:36crazy allegations because they know they're going to get paid.
- 13:39And I'm not saying that's what happened with Miss Harth,
- 13:41but we always have to be cognizant of that. We
- 13:44have to be aware that it happens. According to mister Epstein,
- 13:50he and mister Trump partied at his house too. In
- 13:53a twenty fifteen email exchange with Land and Thomas Junior,
- 13:56then a Times reporter, he recounted a moment when mister
- 13:59Trump so focused on young women swimming in his pool
- 14:02that he walked into a glass door. Mister Epstein also
- 14:06referred to the twenty two year old contestant from that
- 14:08night in ninety three, indicating she had pictures of Donald
- 14:12and girls in bikinis in my kitchen, and providing her
- 14:16email address. The emails, among those released by Congress last month,
- 14:21came as mister Trump led in the polls for the
- 14:23Republican presidential nomination. Mister Thomas, who had once pitched mister
- 14:28Epstein on a sympathetic profile, said he was being approached
- 14:31by people who thought he had juicy info on you
- 14:34and Trump. It's unclear whether the photos of mister Epstein
- 14:38referenced exist. The former contestant cannot be reached for comment.
- 14:43The Times is withholding her name because she has publicly
- 14:46not come forward with her own account of the events.
- 14:48Mister Thomas has said he never received any photographs. He
- 14:52left The Times in twenty nineteen after disclosing that he
- 14:55had solicited a charitable contribution from mister Epstein. That's a
- 15:00whole lass, other can of worms. Another fucking journalist on
- 15:03Epstein's dime. Huh. No wonder the story never got out.
- 15:08In November of nineteen ninety three, mister Trump's chosen pageant
- 15:11contestants flew in from around the world for a week
- 15:13of events at his properties in New York and Atlantic City.
- 15:17At one point, Miss Harth said in her lawsuit, mister
- 15:20Trump demanded that she provide him with access to a
- 15:22seventeen year old check contestant. The suit does not say
- 15:26if she complied or if mister Trump met the contestant.
- 15:30Towards the end of the week, the contestants joined mister
- 15:32Trump for a press luncheon at the Plaza. One contestant,
- 15:36Beatrice coll then, a bank employee and part time model
- 15:40from Switzerland, said in an interview with The Times that
- 15:43during the event, one of mister Trump's employees asked her
- 15:46to meet him privately in a sweet upstairs. Almost as
- 15:49soon as she arrived, Miss Coole said, mister Trump began
- 15:53groping her, kissing her and trying to lift her dress.
- 15:56I yelled, I screamed. I pushed him. She said he
- 15:58didn't want to give up. Like, what do you do
- 16:01with that? Is everybody just lying because they want to
- 16:04lie about Trump? Is that really what you believe? At
- 16:07some point you have to ask yourself how come all
- 16:10these people are making these allegations if they're not true.
- 16:15She said that she was withholding some of the details
- 16:17of what happened because she had been subject to anonymous threats.
- 16:21Miss Coole first described aspects of the episode to The
- 16:24Deli Mel last year. A friend, Pascal Clavez, told The
- 16:28Times that miss Coole recounted the episode at the Plaza
- 16:31to him around two thousand and four. Miss Coole also
- 16:35provided The Times with pictures of documents corroborating her participation
- 16:38in the pageant and of herself with mister Trump. Before
- 16:42the private meeting, she was also approached by mister Epstein.
- 16:46I'm Jeffrey, I'm Don's best friend, she recalled him, saying
- 16:49she was confused at first. Miss Cole said because she
- 16:52didn't seem to be affiliated with the pageant, she didn't
- 16:55understand why he had been allowed into the press luncheon.
- 16:58He said, Don likes you very much. And that their
- 17:01organizing parties at mar A Lago and he would love
- 17:04for you to join. Miss Coole said he would take
- 17:06care of her, her flights, her hotel. You just need
- 17:09to pack and come to the party at mar A Lago,
- 17:12she recalled him, saying, when Miss Cold demurred, mister Epstein
- 17:17tried other tactics, going on about the wealth he kept
- 17:20in Swiss Banks, then about famous friends with whom he
- 17:22could arrange meetings. Epstein knew exactly what he was doing.
- 17:26She said. He had hunting methods. It was a routine.
- 17:29The first to mister Epstein's former assistants interviewed by The Times,
- 17:33said that on dozens of occasions in the mid nineties,
- 17:36the financier Pedophile instructed her to call a pageant winner
- 17:39from somewhere in the world and invited her to visit
- 17:42him in Florida. His standing offer, the assistant said, was
- 17:46an all expense paid trip and five thousand dollars in
- 17:49cash to go shopping on Worth Avenue, pomp Beach, Fame
- 17:52shopping destination. In December of ninety three, not long after
- 17:57the pageant, mister Trump married Miss Maples at the Plot
- 18:00photo show. Mister Epstein in attendance, but the parties continued.
- 18:05All right, folks, we're gonna wrap up episode two right there,
- 18:07and in the next episode, we're gonna pick up where
- 18:10we left off. All of the information that goes with
- 18:12this episode can be found in the description box.
