Homeland Security just wrapped up a massive two-week crackdown across D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, arresting over 1,300 people suspected of being in the country illegally — many with prior U.S. criminal records. Called “Operation Safe Community – Washington, D.C.”, the sweep targeted serious offenses including sexual assault, kidnapping, gang membership, and drunk driving.
