- 0:00Happy Friday morning everybody. I am in Austin, TX.
- 0:07Big weekend down here. We have Fandango tonight.
- 0:13You know there is a really nice amphitheater inside this
- 0:18racetrack Circuit of the America.
- 0:21So tonight we are going to celebrate the first responders.
- 0:29Man oh man, they are some awesome people.
- 0:32So tonight we have 4000 people. We are going to entertain them.
- 0:37A Fandango has been around for a long time.
- 0:40You know, Texas Motor Speedway, Circuit of the America, they're
- 0:44all one team. It's a really big deal.
- 0:46So we're going to interview some drivers.
- 0:48And then Tim Dugger, the country western superstar, he'll be up
- 0:53after us, put on a nice concert. And then tomorrow I'm going to
- 0:58roll through the garage area on Saturday and then Sunday is
- 1:02trackside live. OK everybody, that was a really
- 1:08quick monologue today. Richard Petty, the king, seven
- 1:17time champion, he made news. Did you know that?
- 1:22Richard Petty and Dale Inman, his crew chief, man, they are a
- 1:27duel. They made NASCAR history,
- 1:29winning 7 championships. But Richard Petty says that
- 1:34NASCAR is missing that that guy. I'm like, keep going Richard,
- 1:42keep talking. He said something like they're
- 1:46missing a fox. You know, he's, I think.
- 1:51Tell me if I'm right. Does this sound right?
- 1:53Do I? Did I hear him right?
- 1:55A dog chases after a fox or a fox chase?
- 1:59Anyway, there was something there.
- 2:02I understood what Richard meant. He meant we don't have a driver
- 2:07that stands out Now. That's what Richard Petty said.
- 2:13So let let's talk about it. Everybody respond right here.
- 2:17Is Richard Petty right? Is there a driver that stands
- 2:22out? I got to tell you, I love
- 2:24everybody, but I have to agree with the great Richard Petty.
- 2:27I agree with Richard. There is no driver that stands
- 2:31out. But there was a driver that
- 2:35stood out, Jimmie Johnson. Whatever happened to Jimmie
- 2:42Johnson? I think that's I think that's my
- 2:45headlines today. Whatever happened to Jimmie
- 2:49Johnson, the race car driver? Stop and think about it for a
- 2:53minute. You had Richard Petty, you had
- 2:59Dale Earnhardt senior and those guys, I mean, they're Richard is
- 3:04still celebrated to this day. So it, it begs the question,
- 3:11whatever happened to Jimmie Johnson?
- 3:17Really a strange phenomenon. You know, I'm a big fan of
- 3:19Jimmie Johnson. Jimmy flew, flew Kim and myself
- 3:24on his airplane with Jimmy and his beautiful wife.
- 3:27I really like Jimmie Johnson. Super nice guy.
- 3:33But it's like Jimmie Johnson should not be able to walk
- 3:38through the garage area without fans chasing after him.
- 3:42Jimmie Johnson was that driver. He was, he was that driver that
- 3:47was so fast. They were chasing him.
- 3:53It just seems like Jimmy won those championships and left and
- 4:01he's back, but it's like he should be doing things for the
- 4:07sport. What's going on here is, is
- 4:13NASCAR dropping the ball or is Jimmie Johnson don't want to do
- 4:17it? Somebody said last night on X
- 4:20that Jimmie Johnson was on Happy Harvick and nothing to tell me
- 4:27this. This is all of us together,
- 4:29Jimmie Johnson said. Well, I guess I could do more,
- 4:32more marketing, but I just haven't.
- 4:35Why? Jimmy owns a NASCAR team.
- 4:41He owns a legacy. Why would he not?
- 4:45Is it? I don't know if that's true or
- 4:47not. Here's the bottom line.
- 4:49The King Richard Petty said we just don't have that person in
- 4:55NASCAR. We are missing that person.
- 5:00And when I thought about it, I thought well it it ended with
- 5:04Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy was that guy.
- 5:06He was that guy that was so damn fast.
- 5:09I mean he rattle off with four or five championships in a row
- 5:13respond right here. All right, now that we've talked
- 5:18about that, I'm going to give you my opinion.
- 5:25I think Jimmy Johnson won those championships and he felt like
- 5:33there was more to do in his life.
- 5:36I think Jimmy wanted to see if he was really that great.
- 5:42So when when you rattle off that many championships, you start
- 5:46saying to yourself, damn, am I that good?
- 5:49Am I really that good? Or is it the car that's fair for
- 5:56Jimmy Johnson to ask himself that?
- 5:59So Jimmy said, I think I'm going to go to IndyCar and I'm going
- 6:03to see how damn good I am. That was a really hard
- 6:06transition. Sometimes I think that, you
- 6:10know, I, I tell some people, I say they they say, hey, Herman,
- 6:14I'm running a dirt modified and I want to go to dirt super late
- 6:17model or, you know, I say, hold on now, be careful.
- 6:23You're winning everything. Stay your lane, stay your lane.
- 6:30You know, I'll never forget Warren Buffett, the the
- 6:33wealthiest man in in the world, Alex Rodriguez, the great
- 6:39baseball player, you know, Alex had, you know, millions of
- 6:43dollars and he goes to Warren Buffett.
- 6:45He goes, Warren, I got all this money, man, what should I do
- 6:49with it? Warren Buffett said it perfect.
- 6:54He said do what you do best, just play baseball.
- 7:00So when I look back on whatever happened to Jimmie Johnson, I'm
- 7:06going to take it. I'm going to take a shot of
- 7:07this. I think Jimmy won all those
- 7:09championships and he wanted to see if it was him, so he went
- 7:15the IndyCar. He should have stayed his lane.
- 7:21I mean that with love, man. I love Jimmy Johnson.
- 7:25I'm sure I've said that about eight times right now.
- 7:28Maybe Jimmy should have stayed his lane, but he went to IndyCar
- 7:32and it just didn't turn out. Spend a little time doing what
- 7:36he does, going overseas. When I watch Jimmy, he likes,
- 7:45you know, like some of these IndyCar racers.
- 7:49He kind of likes the Formula One type people, hangs out with
- 7:52them. I don't see.
- 7:55It's kind of like Jimmy left the NASCAR type people like they
- 7:59upset him. Did NASCAR upset Jimmy Johnson?
- 8:04If so, why did he come back and why does he own a A-Team?
- 8:09It is so strange. Jimmie Johnson owns a NASCAR
- 8:14team and he's not celebrated that one driver that Richard
- 8:20Petty was talking about that we don't have today.
- 8:24So that got me to thinking, whatever happened to Jimmie
- 8:28Johnson? Respond right here.
