Latest / The Mark Simone Show / Hour 1: Tiger Woods is losing his license.
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Live from Midtown Manhattan, here comes the Mark Simone Show on.
- 0:07Speaker 2: 710WOR. Hey, it's Wednesday already. Well, it's practically Labor Day weekend.
- 0:15Speaker 2: We're on the second day of September. This just breaking.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Tiger Woods, we heard he was going into court with
- 0:22Speaker 2: a plea deal on that DUI stuff. Well, he came back.
- 0:27Speaker 2: He was going to trial. Supposedly, a plea deal was set. Well,
- 0:30Speaker 2: It just happened. The court just ruled Tiger Woods guilty,
- 0:35Speaker 2: but all he'll get is five years of a suspended license.
- 0:39Speaker 2: He will lose his driver's license for five years. That's
- 0:43Speaker 2: the deal. His girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, that's the ex-wife of
- 0:48Speaker 2: Don Jr., standing by him at the trial. It's a
- 0:53Speaker 2: good thing that he loses his license. He can Certainly
- 0:56Speaker 2: afford to have a driver. And this is not the
- 0:58Speaker 2: first accident. This guy, he and Billy Joel, two guys
- 1:03Speaker 2: that should not be driving anywhere. A number of accidents, incidents.
- 1:08Speaker 2: So he will not be able to, he will not
- 1:11Speaker 2: have a license for five years. He was pulled over,
- 1:13Speaker 2: swerving all over the place. DUI. He told the officer
- 1:18Speaker 2: who pulled him over, he first didn't admit to being
- 1:22Speaker 2: drunk or on drugs or he said he was looking
- 1:25Speaker 2: down at his phone and he was changing the radio station.
- 1:28Speaker 2: That's why that happened. You know, when the vehicle is
- 1:33Speaker 2: overturned and they're trying to pull you out of it,
- 1:38Speaker 2: you can't claim, well, people change the radio station all
- 1:42Speaker 2: the time. Not everybody flips over their car doing it.
- 1:45Speaker 2: So obviously that wasn't it. How was he trying to
- 1:48Speaker 2: blame some talk show host who got a little boring
- 1:50Speaker 2: so he had to change the radio station and that's
- 1:52Speaker 2: what caused all this? Well, he took a breathalyzer at
- 1:57Speaker 2: the scene and it wasn't good. They took him in.
- 2:03Speaker 2: He refused a urine test. He refused all kinds of stuff,
- 2:06Speaker 2: but no license for five years. That's probably the best
- 2:10Speaker 2: solution for everybody here. Make it a lot safer to
- 2:14Speaker 2: be driving around in Florida. Hey, this awful Times Square stabbing,
- 2:19Speaker 2: this crazy nut of a woman. And this goes to
- 2:23Speaker 2: show you what happens when you decide to just let
- 2:26Speaker 2: all the mental patients out and not institutionalize them. It
- 2:31Speaker 2: also shows what happens when you put them on those
- 2:33Speaker 2: psychotropic drugs. It says right in the side effects. May
- 2:37Speaker 2: cause homicidal behavior, maniacal behavior. And this is what happens when...
- 2:44Speaker 2: a judge, you know, the Cuomo, Mamdani, no bail, no jail,
- 2:48Speaker 2: let everybody loose when this kind of stuff happens. This
- 2:51Speaker 2: is a woman who had a number of incidents before
- 2:54Speaker 2: and every time was put back on the street. She
- 2:57Speaker 2: had two knives. She was, and her online stuff, her Twitter,
- 3:03Speaker 2: in recent months, she was talking about stabbing people for
- 3:06Speaker 2: no reason, online, posting it. But she wanted to just
- 3:10Speaker 2: go out and stab people for no reason. So, You've
- 3:14Speaker 2: probably seen the video. It's just horrible to watch. It's
- 3:16Speaker 2: a bunch of cops trying to stop this crazy woman
- 3:19Speaker 2: with two knives. And he's, you know, spinning the knives
- 3:24Speaker 2: around with her arms are spinning around like windmills trying
- 3:26Speaker 2: to cut somebody. They tried to taser her at first. Now,
- 3:32Speaker 2: it turns out a lot of people may not realize this.
- 3:35Speaker 2: If you're fat, if you got a lot of body fat,
- 3:38Speaker 2: the taser doesn't really do much. The fatter you are,
- 3:42Speaker 2: the less effective the taser is. So they couldn't make
- 3:45Speaker 2: a direct hit. You've got to hit the muscles. The
- 3:48Speaker 2: taser has to hit your muscles, and that's what does it.
- 3:50Speaker 2: But if you're really fat, you've got layers of protection.
- 3:54Speaker 2: So they did hit her with a couple of tasers.
- 3:57Speaker 2: She was carrying her purse around, and one hit the purse,
- 3:59Speaker 2: so that killed that one. And the other ones, they
- 4:02Speaker 2: just couldn't hit the muscles. They just kept hitting fat.
- 4:06Speaker 2: taser experts, that's a big problem that people don't realize.
- 4:08Speaker 2: If you're really fat, a taser's not going to do
- 4:11Speaker 2: much to you. Here's a witness that was watching this
- 4:16Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 4:19Speaker 3: There were so many police. Why didn't they grab her
- 4:21Speaker 3: by the arm? Yeah, she had mental problems. There were
- 4:26Speaker 3: no signs this would have happened. This was all of
- 4:29Speaker 3: a sudden because she's never been violent.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Well, uh, But it was just a horrible situation. So
- 4:36Speaker 2: it went on for about four minutes, this woman confronting
- 4:39Speaker 2: the police, trying to lunge at them with a knife.
- 4:41Speaker 2: They tried the tasers. Finally, they had to shoot her
- 4:44Speaker 2: and kill her. But a horrible situation. But isolated incidents.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I mean, there's a lot of cases, a lot of crimes.
- 4:55Speaker 2: And every so often, one just catches people's interest and
- 4:58Speaker 2: it becomes just front page news for days. And we've
- 5:02Speaker 2: had stuff like this before. Overall, we have a lot
- 5:05Speaker 2: of listeners around the country who all think New York
- 5:07Speaker 2: is just violence, crazy. It looks like the movie Death Wish. No,
- 5:12Speaker 2: it's really not like that. You can walk all over Manhattan.
- 5:14Speaker 2: It looks like it always looked. It's just fine. Subway
- 5:17Speaker 2: crimes up a little, robberies up a little, rapes up
- 5:20Speaker 2: a little. But most of Manhattan, most of New York
- 5:24Speaker 2: is pretty safe right now, despite that crazy Mom Donnie
- 5:28Speaker 2: who's driving everybody nuts. Crazy Kathy Hochul. who's getting a
- 5:34Speaker 2: lot of flack for her hijab hijab hokal she was
- 5:38Speaker 2: going to speak at a muslim ceremony and she put
- 5:42Speaker 2: on supposed to be a hijab it wasn't really if
- 5:45Speaker 2: you look at it it's supposed to cover your hair
- 5:47Speaker 2: and your neck uh it was a big black scarf
- 5:50Speaker 2: tied to look like a hijab i guess she's trying
- 5:53Speaker 2: to be respectful but it looked ridiculous it looked like
- 5:56Speaker 2: stupid pandering uh for hokal uh You know, one thing
- 6:01Speaker 2: about the left that embraces the Muslim world, it's not
- 6:06Speaker 2: very good to women. Women have to cover up everything.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Women are not allowed to express themselves freely. So Hochul
- 6:15Speaker 2: joining in on that? I don't know. It's not a
- 6:16Speaker 2: good idea. The hijab stuff, the video, you're going to
- 6:20Speaker 2: see that in a lot of campaign commercials later. Hey,
- 6:23Speaker 2: good for Homeland Security, ICE. They came in and they
- 6:27Speaker 2: got a couple thousand very bad, illegals, criminals off the
- 6:32Speaker 2: streets of New York. That's a great thing. Mark Wayne Mullen,
- 6:37Speaker 2: Homeland Security Secretary, announcing they've arrested and gotten, they'll deport them,
- 6:43Speaker 2: a couple thousand, that's a couple thousand criminals out of
- 6:47Speaker 2: New York thanks to Homeland Security.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Over the last 30 days, Operation Rottenapolis has taken over
- 6:55Speaker 4: 2,100 criminals.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Off our streets. That's the worst of the worst. Yeah. Criminals, rapists, robbers,
- 7:05Speaker 2: gang members gone. Great news.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Operation rotten apple was an operation we decided to take
- 7:14Speaker 4: on because you have a very liberal slash socialist mayor
- 7:21Speaker 4: here in New York city that instead of working with
- 7:26Speaker 4: law enforcement, uh, tries to cut NYPD's budget by $ 22
- 7:32Speaker 4: million and refuses to work with federal law enforcement.
- 7:37Speaker 2: You have a governor that refuses to work with us.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Can you imagine that? Can you imagine if you went
- 7:44Speaker 2: into a coma in the Bill Clinton era and woke
- 7:47Speaker 2: up now and found out that Democrats are trying to
- 7:51Speaker 2: defund the police, they refuse to cooperate with law enforcement,
- 7:54Speaker 2: if there's dangerous illegal criminals walking around? They want them
- 7:58Speaker 2: to have sanctuary. They refuse to do anything about it.
- 8:01Speaker 4: These are individuals that we took off the streets of
- 8:03Speaker 4: New York to protect the people here because you have
- 8:06Speaker 4: a mayor that refuses to work and actually, as I
- 8:09Speaker 4: said earlier, is trying to cut the budget of NYPD
- 8:12Speaker 4: by $ 22 million. He's extremely out of touch with what
- 8:19Speaker 4: the American people want and what public safety actually looks like.
- 8:23Speaker 2: So if somebody, a federal agency, came in and got
- 8:26Speaker 2: $ 2, 100 million, criminals off your street, wouldn't you send them
- 8:31Speaker 2: a thank you note or something? Not Kathy Hochul, not
- 8:34Speaker 2: Mom Donnie. They're fuming. They're furious.
- 8:36Speaker 5: The Department of Homeland Security, the agency created in response
- 8:41Speaker 5: to 9-11. is withholding 40% of New York State's counterterrorism funding.
- 8:47Speaker 6: We are talking about the money needed to fully fund
- 8:50Speaker 6: 12 bomb squads across New York. We are talking about
- 8:54Speaker 6: the money needed to ensure that in the event of
- 8:57Speaker 6: a catastrophic attack, the FDNY can communicate internally and respond effectively.
- 9:02Speaker 2: They're not really withholding it. They're asking you to cooperate
- 9:07Speaker 2: with law enforcement. If you refuse to cooperate with them,
- 9:09Speaker 2: you certainly can't take their money. You want their money? Cooperate.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Follow the rules if you want the money. And I'm
- 9:18Speaker 2: sure if Mamdani got this money, he'd put it right
- 9:21Speaker 2: into bomb squads, not some crazy, crazy stuff. It's just
- 9:27Speaker 2: an absolute mess, but good for Homeland Security. They want
- 9:31Speaker 2: to do this in Chicago, by the way. Chicago, crime
- 9:34Speaker 2: is out of control. You have 40 or 50 shootings
- 9:37Speaker 2: every weekend. Not Every year, every weekend, 40 or 50
- 9:43Speaker 2: shootings in Chicago. So the federal government is offering to
- 9:47Speaker 2: come in and clean up the streets, just like they
- 9:49Speaker 2: did in Washington, D.C. Send in the FBI, Homeland Security,
- 9:54Speaker 2: National Guard, whatever you need. Washington, D.C., violent, dangerous city.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Now it's safe. You can walk around at night. Everybody's
- 10:01Speaker 2: going out for the first time in a million years.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Restaurants are busy for the first time in years. They've
- 10:07Speaker 2: offered to do it for Chicago. Crazy Governor Pritzker, that's
- 10:10Speaker 2: a big, fat, Ralph Crandon-looking governor, refusing the help. Can
- 10:14Speaker 2: you imagine that?
- 10:15Speaker 7: Unbelievable.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Unbelievable. So, hey, they have this G20 summit, which is
- 10:23Speaker 2: Scott Besson is our treasury secretary, our top economic officials.
- 10:28Speaker 2: They have one of those in every country. So the
- 10:31Speaker 2: top 20 countries, it's actually about 25, but they still
- 10:34Speaker 2: call it the G20, all meet. Besson speaks to all
- 10:38Speaker 2: of them. It's probably a huge waste of time. I
- 10:43Speaker 2: don't know what the hell they actually accomplish at this thing.
- 10:46Speaker 2: But Besson talked about a lot of stuff, including China.
- 10:48Speaker 7: We've had very quiet conversations with Russia and China. And
- 10:52Speaker 7: I think we can move that discussion forward. As I
- 10:55Speaker 7: said with China on Iran, we have more in common
- 10:58Speaker 7: than we have differences. China agrees Iran cannot have a
- 11:01Speaker 7: nuclear weapon. China agrees that there has to be free
- 11:05Speaker 7: maritime trade in the Strait of Hormuz.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah. And we've got an agreement with China. It's about
- 11:14Speaker 2: as good as an agreement with Iran. It never really
- 11:16Speaker 2: holds up. What about Canada?
- 11:18Speaker 7: We discussed AI. We discussed global imbalances where the Canadians
- 11:24Speaker 7: have been very strong.
- 11:26Speaker 2: And we discussed.
- 11:28Speaker 7: How do we put the trade situation back together. And
- 11:31Speaker 7: I think that's going to have to be done at
- 11:33Speaker 7: the leader's level.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Can you imagine discussing AI with Canada? Canada? They're
- 11:38Speaker 2: still using like Windows 3 up there. They've still got
- 11:42Speaker 2: AOL chat rooms up there in Canada. That's the thing.
- 11:49Speaker 2: We don't really need Canada for anything. They need us
- 11:52Speaker 2: for everything. So I don't really know what they're thinking
- 11:56Speaker 2: up there, how they're going to win this battle. But, hey,
- 11:59Speaker 2: you've got the midterms coming up. It was a good
- 12:01Speaker 2: sign in Massachusetts last night. They had their primary. And
- 12:06Speaker 2: in the primary in Massachusetts... Ed Markey won. Now, he's
- 12:11Speaker 2: a Democrat. He beat the up-and-coming crazy lunatic that everybody hates.
- 12:16Speaker 2: So the old senior guy won in Massachusetts. The old-fashioned Democrat,
- 12:24Speaker 2: that's a good sign. Now, Chuck Schumer might be encouraged
- 12:27Speaker 2: by that, but don't, because Ed Markey, as bad as
- 12:30Speaker 2: he is, an old fossil, he's a well-liked, loved Massachusetts guy.
- 12:36Speaker 2: And a soft-spoken, nice Massachusetts, sort of an old-timer. But
- 12:41Speaker 2: Schumer's not liked in New York. Nobody likes him. He's
- 12:44Speaker 2: a slimy, slimy, cheap politician. And Republicans, obviously, not going
- 12:51Speaker 2: to vote for him. And Democrats hate him now. So
- 12:53Speaker 2: everybody hates him. Schumer's got absolutely no shot at all. Now, traditionally,
- 12:59Speaker 2: the president, when you get elected, you lose the midterms
- 13:02Speaker 2: two years in. It's tradition. Always happens. One or two exceptions,
- 13:05Speaker 2: but 98% of the time you lose the midterm. So
- 13:09Speaker 2: it'd be normal for the president to lose it. But
- 13:12Speaker 2: this is Donald Trump. He's got two years left, two
- 13:16Speaker 2: and a half. He's really concerned about legacy, really concerned.
- 13:21Speaker 2: So this would be a big part of his legacy,
- 13:23Speaker 2: defying the odds on this, winning these midterms. So you'll
- 13:28Speaker 2: see him do something in the last, it's really going
- 13:31Speaker 2: to heat up in the next few weeks. It's September, October.
- 13:34Speaker 2: That's where the campaign begins. And nobody is better at
- 13:38Speaker 2: pulling a rabbit out of his hat than Donald Trump.
- 13:40Speaker 2: So I think you'll see him pull it off. Even
- 13:42Speaker 2: the CNN pollster here.
- 13:44Speaker 8: In fact, the polls underestimate the Republicans is 53 Republican
- 13:49Speaker 8: Senate seats compared to 47 Republican seats. Maine, that stays red.
- 13:54Speaker 8: How about a flip in Michigan where Abdul-Assad, very neck
- 13:58Speaker 8: and neck in the polls with Mike Rogers.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Ohio stays red.
- 14:01Speaker 8: Iowa stays red. Alaska stays red.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Now, I will note.
- 14:07Speaker 8: I will note that even in this scenario, right, you
- 14:10Speaker 8: still get a situation where North Carolina stays blue and
- 14:15Speaker 8: Georgia stays blue. But Texas goes red. See you later.
- 14:19Speaker 8: Ken Paxton gets elected to the United States Senate.
- 14:22Speaker 2: No James Tallarico. It's amazing this guy still works there.
- 14:25Speaker 2: He's the CNN pollster, but he's always very honest and fair.
- 14:29Speaker 2: He doesn't take those fake polls seriously, but he still
- 14:32Speaker 2: works at CNN somehow. Hey, these data centers have everybody terrified.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Data centers, you know, it's just a big building and
- 14:41Speaker 2: it makes a lot of noise. It's just a noisy
- 14:43Speaker 2: building is all it basically is. But people are terrified
- 14:47Speaker 2: of these data centers. You know, they see them coming
- 14:48Speaker 2: to way out there somewhere. And then I don't know
- 14:52Speaker 2: if you know this. Nobody's ever mentioned this. We already
- 14:56Speaker 2: have data centers in New York. We have a couple
- 14:59Speaker 2: in New York City. There are data centers here. Nobody
- 15:03Speaker 2: ever points that out. In the New York City tri-state area,
- 15:07Speaker 2: there are 72 data centers. There's a few of them
- 15:10Speaker 2: right here in New York. They're not the biggest data centers,
- 15:13Speaker 2: but they're data centers. There's a bunch of them in
- 15:15Speaker 2: lower Manhattan. They're in New Jersey, right over there, Jersey City, Angle,
- 15:21Speaker 2: that area. There's data centers around there. We got a
- 15:25Speaker 2: bunch of them around the tri-state area, 72 of them.
- 15:30Speaker 2: And they've been there for years. So I don't think
- 15:32Speaker 2: people realize this. So these data centers, not as scary.
- 15:36Speaker 2: As they make them out to be. We'll get back
- 15:40Speaker 2: to Canada. We've got a lot of stuff to get to.
- 15:43Speaker 2: And we've got more on crazy Kathy Hochul. I think
- 15:47Speaker 2: she's in trouble. I think she's going to have a
- 15:49Speaker 2: bad couple of months coming up. We'll get to that
- 15:52Speaker 2: ridiculous U.S. Open and a whole lot more. Mark Simone here.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Nine to noon. It's three hours every day now. Nine
- 15:58Speaker 2: to noon. On 710WOR. The Mark Simone Show. Nine till
- 16:04Speaker 2: noon weekdays. More Mark. 710WOR. Well, hey, it's almost Labor Day.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I know, I can't believe it. It's Labor Day weekend.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You know, this was actually the longest summer we've had.
- 16:19Speaker 2: I know it seems very short, but Labor Day is
- 16:22Speaker 2: a week later than usual. Memorial Day was a week
- 16:25Speaker 2: earlier than usual. So you're actually going through the longest
- 16:28Speaker 2: summer of all. which felt like it just went by
- 16:33Speaker 2: way too fast. Hey, a lot of the crazy left,
- 16:36Speaker 2: the Democrats, now mad at Apple. First, it was Google. Now,
- 16:42Speaker 2: Apple Maps is... Now, this is a left-wing site, media-ite, very,
- 16:46Speaker 2: very left-wing site. Apple Maps caves to Trump on renaming
- 16:51Speaker 2: Lake Ontario to Lake America. If you look on Google Maps,
- 16:55Speaker 2: it'll say Lake America now. And now, if you look
- 16:57Speaker 2: on Apple Maps... Who looks on Apple Maps? If you
- 17:01Speaker 2: look on Apple Maps, it'll say Lake America. So the
- 17:05Speaker 2: left-wing furious that they caved in, they're kowtowing, pandering to Trump. Well, actually,
- 17:11Speaker 2: Google and Apple make the case, and it's a very
- 17:14Speaker 2: good case, that that is officially the name now. It's
- 17:18Speaker 2: not just Trump shooting his mouth off as some private citizen.
- 17:22Speaker 2: He's the president of the United States, and his administration
- 17:25Speaker 2: controls this. The U.S. Geographic Names Information System, the GNIS,
- 17:31Speaker 2: has formally changed the name from Lake Ontario to Lake
- 17:36Speaker 2: America in the United States. That is officially the name.
- 17:39Speaker 2: It's not just Trump being Trump. It's officially the name now.
- 17:44Speaker 2: So Apple had to do it. Now, what they do
- 17:48Speaker 2: is the half, our half of that lake closest to us,
- 17:53Speaker 2: that's Lake America. The upper half, closer to Ontario, that's
- 17:58Speaker 2: Lake Ontario. So if you're in Canada looking at it,
- 18:00Speaker 2: it'll say Lake Ontario. But if you're in Canada, you
- 18:05Speaker 2: probably don't have Apple Maps yet. You're probably still using
- 18:09Speaker 2: a Motorola flip phone or something, or maybe using one
- 18:12Speaker 2: of those Palm Trios. Probably if you're in Canada, they're
- 18:15Speaker 2: a little behind us up there. Hey, the House of
- 18:18Speaker 2: Representatives passed a resolution saying condemning socialism on Tuesday. This
- 18:24Speaker 2: is a democracy after all. You know, these Democrats love
- 18:29Speaker 2: to yell, Trump, a threat to democracy. Well, of course not.
- 18:33Speaker 2: But the real threat to democracy would be getting rid
- 18:36Speaker 2: of it and going socialist. That's the ultimate threat to democracy.
- 18:40Speaker 2: So it makes sense that you would vote for a
- 18:42Speaker 2: resolution condemning socialism. It's the most un-American thing in the world.
- 18:48Speaker 2: So you vote against it, obviously. Well, They took the
- 18:52Speaker 2: vote and the resolution passed, but it was close. It
- 18:57Speaker 2: was 220 to 192. And all the no votes, the
- 19:04Speaker 2: pro-socialism votes, all the no votes came from Democrats. Only
- 19:10Speaker 2: eight Democrats voted against it. Only eight voted against it.
- 19:19Speaker 2: It was a resolution condemning socialism 192 Democrats voted no
- 19:24Speaker 2: on this. So that's embarrassing. That is really stupid on
- 19:29Speaker 2: the part of Democrats. But they're doing it on the record. So, hey,
- 19:33Speaker 2: the U.S. pounding Iran last night, second time in two days.
- 19:38Speaker 2: It's the Strait of Hormuz. Large, powerful strikes. Now, these
- 19:42Speaker 2: are retaliatory because earlier in the week, the Iranians tried
- 19:49Speaker 2: to put mines in the Strait of Hormuz. All the
- 19:51Speaker 2: mines have been cleared from the Strait of Hormuz. The
- 19:55Speaker 2: Strait of Hormuz is open. The, what they call the
- 19:57Speaker 2: Southern corridor, the half along the Omani coast, it is open.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Price of oil is down today. Uh, no, this is
- 20:08Speaker 2: a big thing. Uh, keeping those mines out and they
- 20:12Speaker 2: pretty much have the straight totally under us control. Our
- 20:15Speaker 2: ships control it. And if they ever try to do anything, mines, whatever,
- 20:20Speaker 2: we just blow them up instantly. Uh, CENTCOM is Admiral Cooper.
- 20:24Speaker 2: He has what the, they call preemptive authority. When they're
- 20:28Speaker 2: watching this live 24 seven with satellites, they're watching all
- 20:32Speaker 2: activity along there. If they see anybody trying anything, he
- 20:35Speaker 2: has the authority to just blow them up right then
- 20:37Speaker 2: and there. It doesn't have to get permission from anybody.
- 20:40Speaker 2: And that's what they've been doing. And then in addition
- 20:42Speaker 2: to that, massive retaliatory strikes at Iran the last two nights.
- 20:48Speaker 2: So Strait is open. President met yesterday with the heads
- 20:52Speaker 2: of all the oil companies. And the talk was about
- 20:56Speaker 2: lowering the price of oil, which you can do. We
- 20:58Speaker 2: got more oil than we need. We're overflowing with oil
- 21:02Speaker 2: right now. No reason to keep the price that high. Also,
- 21:05Speaker 2: we got all the Venezuelan oil. We now have control
- 21:09Speaker 2: of it. And once that comes online, it's going to
- 21:13Speaker 2: be more oil than we've ever had, than we could
- 21:15Speaker 2: ever use. We're now the biggest supplier in the world.
- 21:18Speaker 2: The only thing holding back these oil companies from cutting
- 21:23Speaker 2: the prices is they know at some point the Strait
- 21:27Speaker 2: of Hormuz will be totally open. Oil will be flowing
- 21:30Speaker 2: like crazy. And then they actually say that'll be too
- 21:33Speaker 2: much oil. We will have a glut of oil, which
- 21:36Speaker 2: will make the price crash. And that's what they're worried about.
- 21:40Speaker 2: There's going to be a crash in oil prices coming soon.
- 21:44Speaker 2: We love it. Oil companies, not too thrilled about it.
- 21:49Speaker 2: You know who's been a great general in this battle
- 21:51Speaker 2: is Scott Besson. I mean, his role is economic, but
- 21:56Speaker 2: he has been just destroying Iran economically. Listen to him yesterday.
- 22:02Speaker 7: We are tracking down the IRGC's assets in Iran. I
- 22:06Speaker 7: will say it on World Wide TV, just so you know.
- 22:09Speaker 7: We know where in the British Virgin Islands your accounts
- 22:13Speaker 7: are at these trust companies. We know the $ 100 million
- 22:17Speaker 7: houses you have around the world. And we are going
- 22:20Speaker 7: to freeze those. We are going to, our partners, we
- 22:24Speaker 7: are going to close all of that down.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty good. So they've stopped all money, all revenue
- 22:31Speaker 2: coming into Iran. It's been shut down for a couple
- 22:33Speaker 2: of months now. No revenue has come in for months
- 22:37Speaker 2: and months and months. We have oil coming through the
- 22:39Speaker 2: Strait of Hormuz. They don't. They're losing about $ 500 million
- 22:42Speaker 2: a day in revenue. So you've got that going on.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Now you've got Besant trying to take the money they
- 22:46Speaker 2: have and seize it, freeze it. Whatever money they've got
- 22:49Speaker 2: stashed away, saved, so they're completely out of revenue. And
- 22:53Speaker 2: whatever they've got saved, we're freezing. Besant doing a great
- 22:55Speaker 2: job on that.
- 22:56Speaker 7: So we are going to go after the regime's illegitimate
- 22:59Speaker 7: assets that they have stolen from the Iranian people. And
- 23:02Speaker 7: those can go back to the Iranian people or... They
- 23:05Speaker 7: can go to the victims of terror, like the families
- 23:08Speaker 7: of the soldiers who are on the USS Cole or
- 23:12Speaker 7: in the Lebanese barracks.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Yeah, or 9-11. So it's a great idea. We'll seize
- 23:16Speaker 2: all of this stuff. It'll be billions. And then release
- 23:20Speaker 2: it when the Iranian people take over their country once again.
- 23:24Speaker 7: We will stop this regime's ability to have a nuclear weapon,
- 23:29Speaker 7: to have their current highly enriched uranium, to project... terrorist
- 23:35Speaker 7: power through their proxy networks and to terrorize the Gulf.
- 23:41Speaker 7: So after 47 years, it is over. Yeah, good for Besant,
- 23:47Speaker 7: one of the great generals in this war. And you
- 23:49Speaker 7: should see the total collapse of the Iranian regime pretty soon. Now, remember,
- 23:54Speaker 7: all these soldiers, IRGC, it's about 180,000 of them, haven't
- 23:58Speaker 7: been paid for a couple of months. There's no chance
- 24:01Speaker 7: of them ever getting paid anymore. So we'll see what happens.
- 24:04Speaker 7: We've got a lot to get to, a lot coming up.
- 24:06Speaker 7: We'll take some calls a little later on. Mark Simone here,
- 24:09Speaker 7: 9 to noon every day on 710WOR.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Mark Simone, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Hey, we'll take some calls in a minute. 800-321-0710 is
- 24:23Speaker 2: the number. All right, now this is interesting. The fear
- 24:29Speaker 2: of these AI data centers. What is everybody afraid of?
- 24:32Speaker 2: It's just a building. It's a big building, but it's
- 24:35Speaker 2: just a building with computers in it. It's just a
- 24:37Speaker 2: building with some servers in it. What are you so
- 24:39Speaker 2: afraid of? Well, it uses too much electricity. Well, they
- 24:42Speaker 2: figured out how to fix that problem with small little
- 24:46Speaker 2: nuclear things. They used too much water. Well, they figured
- 24:49Speaker 2: out how to solve that using recycled water. Now, the
- 24:54Speaker 2: problem is the noise. These big powered turbines that cool
- 24:58Speaker 2: the noise from those turbines. Well, I remember I said
- 25:02Speaker 2: yesterday they'll figure out how to make those quiet. Well,
- 25:06Speaker 2: that might be starting. You know, Elon Musk is about
- 25:09Speaker 2: to build the biggest data center in the world. And,
- 25:13Speaker 2: in fact, it will be the biggest building ever built
- 25:15Speaker 2: in history. But, you know, there's two companies, two or
- 25:19Speaker 2: three companies that make those turbines. It's kind of a
- 25:21Speaker 2: little monopoly of these couple of companies. Elon Musk has
- 25:25Speaker 2: decided he'll make his own turbines. He's going to make turbines.
- 25:31Speaker 2: which the stock of those companies that already make them
- 25:34Speaker 2: started plunging as he announced this. But knowing Elon Musk,
- 25:37Speaker 2: he'll make them quiet. I mean, look at his car.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Look at the Tesla. You ever hear a Tesla? It
- 25:42Speaker 2: sounds like this. There's no sound. He'll figure out how
- 25:48Speaker 2: to make a quiet turbine. He's making his own because
- 25:51Speaker 2: he said he doesn't want to wait for these companies.
- 25:53Speaker 2: And he thinks he can make them better. And he will,
- 25:55Speaker 2: and he'll make them quieter. And then that'll be the
- 25:58Speaker 2: end of the controversy. over AI data centers. They're going
- 26:01Speaker 2: to be everywhere eventually in a couple of years, and
- 26:04Speaker 2: nobody will ever remember that it was such a controversy.
- 26:07Speaker 2: As I pointed out, we've got 72 of them already
- 26:10Speaker 2: in the New York area. They've been here for years.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Smaller ones, but they've been here for years. There's a
- 26:14Speaker 2: couple right in lower Manhattan. Right in Manhattan, there's data centers.
- 26:17Speaker 2: So it'll be pretty common by then. Let's take some calls.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Let's go to Tom in the Bronx. Tom, how are
- 26:24Speaker 2: you doing? Hey, Mark. First off, I want to say
- 26:28Speaker 2: I disagree with the you had Steve Kuzo on the
- 26:31Speaker 2: show the other day. Yeah. Crime is up in New York.
- 26:35Speaker 2: It's just not getting recorded. You got it. Well, we
- 26:38Speaker 2: gave all the actual facts there. Crime. When the commissioner
- 26:41Speaker 2: says it's down, she keeps quoting the murder rate. Subway
- 26:45Speaker 2: crime is up. Rape is up and robberies are up.
- 26:49Speaker 2: So overall, the biggest crimes murder is down. But the
- 26:53Speaker 2: little crimes and those are the ones that affect most people.
- 26:56Speaker 2: They are up, as we've been saying, every day since
- 26:59Speaker 2: the police commissioner made that claim. Let's go to Mike
- 27:02Speaker 2: in Florida. Mike, how are you doing?
- 27:04Speaker 9: Good morning, Mark.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Yes, Mike.
- 27:07Speaker 9: You were speaking earlier about Hochul wearing the hijab. I
- 27:10Speaker 9: think she's got to go full Berker. Have you seen
- 27:12Speaker 9: that mug?
- 27:15Speaker 2: Yeah. She was going into a Muslim center to make
- 27:18Speaker 2: a speech. She thought she was wearing a hijab. It
- 27:22Speaker 2: was just a big black scarf tied around her. And
- 27:25Speaker 2: a hijab is supposed to cover your hair, cover your neck.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Hers didn't. So, look, it offended everybody. The Muslims, the non-Muslims,
- 27:33Speaker 2: everybody got offended by her. You mean her pandering? Yes,
- 27:38Speaker 2: you were going to say. I'm sorry. Well, we get
- 27:41Speaker 2: all upset when summer is coming to an end. It's
- 27:43Speaker 2: the end of summer. It's a very sad time for us. Now,
- 27:45Speaker 2: you live in Florida. People may not realize you're thrilled
- 27:48Speaker 2: when summer's over, right? Because it's the worst season. Thrilled. Thrilled.
- 27:53Speaker 9: Although it's still another six weeks or so of 90
- 27:55Speaker 9: degree weather. And it's funny because all the pumpkin spices
- 27:58Speaker 9: in Walmart and all the long sleeve clothes, the winter
- 28:01Speaker 9: clothing is out. And it's like, guys, there's another six
- 28:04Speaker 9: weeks of 90 degree weather and storms every afternoon. I
- 28:07Speaker 9: don't know what you guys are preparing for. It's not winter. Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 2: So people don't realize they can't wait for Labor Day.
- 28:13Speaker 2: They can't wait for summer to be over in Florida.
- 28:15Speaker 2: It's the worst time of year. It's the worst. It's brutal.
- 28:20Speaker 2: All right, Mike. Thanks for calling. You know, think back.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Remember we had those two heat waves? Remember it was
- 28:25Speaker 2: like 110 or something, whatever it was. Real fuel was
- 28:28Speaker 2: like 110. You really couldn't go outside. It was just unbearable. Well,
- 28:31Speaker 2: Florida's like that for about six months a year in
- 28:33Speaker 2: the summer. So the end of summer is the nicest
- 28:37Speaker 2: time of the year for them. Hey, you remember this?
- 28:40Speaker 2: You know, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, the famous book. So
- 28:42Speaker 2: you remember this author, Robert Kiyosaki? This was the self-help guru.
- 28:47Speaker 2: who made a fortune teaching people the secrets of financial success.
- 28:54Speaker 2: And boy, did he have a lot of followers because
- 28:56Speaker 2: he would teach you how to be a huge success financially.
- 29:00Speaker 2: He's now about 80 years old and it turns out
- 29:04Speaker 2: he's 1.2 billion in debt. So if you've got a
- 29:09Speaker 2: copy of Rich Dad, Poor Dad, throw it out. Just
- 29:12Speaker 2: toss it out right now. The self-help guru, who taught
- 29:17Speaker 2: you how to be rich. He had all these things.
- 29:20Speaker 2: He's a billion two in debt, apparently over very bad investments.
- 29:27Speaker 2: His wife says it's not their fault. They had partners
- 29:31Speaker 2: in real estate ventures, and it's their fault. But it's
- 29:34Speaker 2: his fault. It's his money, his investments. Uh, this enormous debt, uh,
- 29:39Speaker 2: comes from his investment strategy. So I wouldn't listen to
- 29:42Speaker 2: a thing. This guy says, you know, a lot of
- 29:44Speaker 2: these self-help books, uh, these guys are experts, experts at
- 29:51Speaker 2: how to make money off you outside of you, the book,
- 29:55Speaker 2: the video outside of that, taking the class, uh, Outside
- 30:01Speaker 2: of that, they don't know what the hell they're doing.
- 30:03Speaker 2: It's like that Tony Robbins. He's got one talent in life.
- 30:07Speaker 2: That is selling you his course. That's what he does.
- 30:11Speaker 2: You can take that course. I don't know what the
- 30:12Speaker 2: hell you're going to do with it, but he's an
- 30:14Speaker 2: expert at getting money out of you for that course.
- 30:18Speaker 2: That's about it. Hey, we were talking about that Times
- 30:21Speaker 2: Square stabber. So I'm looking at her record. And again,
- 30:26Speaker 2: this started with crazy left-wing politicians closing the mental institutions,
- 30:31Speaker 2: letting these people out, crazy left-wing judges letting these people
- 30:35Speaker 2: back on the street. This Times Square stabber has a
- 30:39Speaker 2: long list of crazy incidents. 2016, belligerent, intoxicated, screaming, fighting
- 30:48Speaker 2: with NYPD cops, Lexington Avenue. 2019, screaming and yelling in
- 30:54Speaker 2: the subway station, then threw herself in front of an
- 30:57Speaker 2: E train trying to commit suicide. And the judges kept
- 31:01Speaker 2: letting her out over and over. And you got, I
- 31:04Speaker 2: hate to say it, you got a bunch of these
- 31:05Speaker 2: mentally ill people walking around. There's a number of these incidents.
- 31:12Speaker 2: And you got crazy judges that have been put in
- 31:15Speaker 2: there by crazy governors. Thank you, Andrew Cuomo and Kathy Hochul.
- 31:19Speaker 2: And thank you, Andrew Cuomo, for your no bail, no jail,
- 31:22Speaker 2: let everybody run around loose. And remember, Andrew Cuomo was
- 31:25Speaker 2: the guy that bragged about how he closed all the prisons.
- 31:28Speaker 2: He was so thrilled about that. Hey, people have been
- 31:31Speaker 2: complaining about prices. One of them is the cost of beef.
- 31:35Speaker 2: That has nothing to do with Donald Trump. That has
- 31:38Speaker 2: nothing to do with the government. The cattle supply had
- 31:43Speaker 2: all kinds of problems. The herds had disease, infections. The
- 31:48Speaker 2: herds were tinier than ever. That's what drove the price
- 31:51Speaker 2: of beef up. So President Trump has removed all tariffs
- 31:56Speaker 2: on beef imports for 90 days. That'll mean a ton
- 32:00Speaker 2: of beef flowing into the country, like actually 300,000 tons
- 32:05Speaker 2: will be coming in, 100,000 tons per month, all tariff-free.
- 32:10Speaker 2: That should bring the price down about 30%. Now, it's
- 32:13Speaker 2: only for 90 days. But apparently they know how to
- 32:17Speaker 2: get that herd back up. Whatever the disease, all that
- 32:19Speaker 2: stuff is, they've eradicated. So the president says in 90 days,
- 32:23Speaker 2: the ranchers will have time to rebuild their herds. They're
- 32:27Speaker 2: at a 75-year low right now. So that's good news. Hey,
- 32:32Speaker 2: we were talking yesterday about New York booming. I mean,
- 32:36Speaker 2: it's absolutely booming. You can't rent an apartment right now.
- 32:39Speaker 2: The rental market has exploded. Very little inventory left as
- 32:44Speaker 2: far as buying land. big condos, really expensive ones, really
- 32:50Speaker 2: expensive apartments. It's increasing all the time. Sales are much
- 32:55Speaker 2: bigger than last year. And we were talking about leasing.
- 32:59Speaker 2: When it comes to offices and all that stuff, leasing
- 33:02Speaker 2: is exploding. There's a frenzy of leasing. You know, there's
- 33:06Speaker 2: a new building going up, Madison Avenue and 60th Street.
- 33:10Speaker 2: It's going to be a 60-story skyscraper. General Atlantic just
- 33:15Speaker 2: signed a huge lease, 150,000 square feet, five floors of
- 33:20Speaker 2: the building. And there's a bunch of these skyscrapers going up,
- 33:24Speaker 2: what they call the supertalls. There's a bunch of 60-, 80-,
- 33:27Speaker 2: 90-story skyscrapers going up. And companies are leasing the space
- 33:31Speaker 2: like crazy. Many of them have sold out already. So
- 33:35Speaker 2: this talk about New York's over, New York's finished, New
- 33:37Speaker 2: York's collapsing, it's actually booming right now. Real estate agents, commercial, residential,
- 33:44Speaker 2: are making a fortune right now. Hey, we'll get to
- 33:48Speaker 2: the silly U.S. Open. I'm not a tennis fan. We'll
- 33:52Speaker 2: get to this U.S. Open. I'm sure it's great tennis,
- 33:56Speaker 2: but what do you hear all the ways people are
- 33:58Speaker 2: exploiting these tennis fans, making a fortune off them? And
- 34:03Speaker 2: what do you hear how dumb these people are to
- 34:05Speaker 2: pay what they're paying for this stuff? We'll get to
- 34:07Speaker 2: that coming up. Don't forget, it's three hours every day.
- 34:09Speaker 2: It's nine to noon. I start at 9 every day,
- 34:12Speaker 2: 9 to noon. Then at noon, you got Buck Sexton
- 34:15Speaker 2: and Clay Travis. They're really interesting to listen to every
- 34:18Speaker 2: day at 12 noon. 3 o'clock, you got the most
- 34:21Speaker 2: listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity. You got
- 34:24Speaker 2: Jesse Kelly at 6 every night. The very funny Jimmy Fallon.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Listen to his show. You'll get addicted every night. It's
- 34:31Speaker 2: 9 to midnight here on 710WOR. Well, I'm looking over
- 34:35Speaker 2: this forecast. I mean, the detailed one.
- 34:37Speaker 1: It's not as bad as they make it sound with
- 34:40Speaker 1: this rain. There could be a very good chance of
- 34:42Speaker 1: some rain around 2 o'clock this afternoon.
- 34:59Speaker 2: There's a very good chance around seven o'clock. I know
- 35:02Speaker 2: I took that back. The 34% chance at seven. So
- 35:06Speaker 2: a little rain this afternoon and then late tonight after 11,
- 35:10Speaker 2: you could see some rain, but that's about it. Uh,
- 35:13Speaker 2: so it's not rain all day. It's not continuous all
- 35:16Speaker 2: day long. And then tomorrow actually doesn't look like a
- 35:19Speaker 2: lot of rain. Uh, no, no, tomorrow should be pretty good.
- 35:24Speaker 2: And then Friday you're fine. Uh, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday,
- 35:28Speaker 2: it'll be great. Nice, dry, sunny Labor Day weekend. So
- 35:33Speaker 2: it'll be cloudy all day today, but a shower here
- 35:36Speaker 2: and there. And the same thing tomorrow, but a lot
- 35:38Speaker 2: of it will be dry. So we've got a lot
- 35:40Speaker 2: to get to in the next hour. We'll get to
- 35:42Speaker 2: that crazy Anna Wintour. I think they're getting ready to
- 35:44Speaker 2: throw her the hell out of that Met Gala. And
- 35:47Speaker 2: nobody deserves it more than her. And we'll get to
- 35:50Speaker 2: that silly U.S. Open and a whole lot more. We'll
- 35:54Speaker 2: get back to Kathy Hochul. And New York is not dying.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I'll give you some more numbers. You will not believe
- 36:01Speaker 2: how well New York is doing right now, real estate-wise, rental-wise.
- 36:05Speaker 2: People moving here. There's more people coming here than leaving
- 36:09Speaker 2: right now. And we'll get to all of that in
- 36:11Speaker 2: the next hour. Don't forget, it's 9 to noon every day.
- 36:13Speaker 2: It's three hours, 9 to noon. Back after the news
- 36:16Speaker 2: on 710WOR.
