- Nathan Hawthorne: everybody knows about Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense. It's obvious. But here's the deal the Bengals have a chance to be a top five defense in the NFL this year. Jarod McInroy: The yellow towels will come in handy when they need to wipe their tears at the end of this absolute stinker of a season you're about to see. this is a a a level of purgatory that nobody wants to be in. Nathan Hawthorne: Listen, the Ravens, this is where defensive genius meets offensive savant. What I saw in week one of the preseason from the Ravens is all I needed to see from Jesse Minter and Declan Doyle. Ravens are a legitimate Super Bowl contender right now. They are fast, physical, and organized. Jarod McInroy: If anyone other than Shador Sanders is your quarterback for seventeen games, all seventeen of them, this is a failure of a season. He wants to be the guy, right? but the only way we're going to be able to tell is give him 17 games and see what happens. Nathan Hawthorne: All right, we are halfway through training camp here. We've seen some good things, we've seen some bad things across the different divisions in the NFL. Some rookies have surprised us, some have kind of let us down, some coaches have surprised us, and some have even let us down. So we're here back with another episode of KYP, bringing you a special edition here doing the division breakdown. We are talking about the AFC North today. Jared, go ahead and paint the picture. What are we seeing for the AFC North? What's Vegas telling us? Jarod McInroy: Vegas gave us a clear rank with this division. they throw out some real bait though. So first let's just go through the numbers. Bengals are at nine and a half wins, Steelers at eight and a half, Ravens eleven and a half, and Browns at five and a half. Here's the bait. The Steelers are always f over five hundred. They continue to be. We'll get into why that's probably not the case. However, they're always five over five hundred. So putting their line at eight and a half is literally saying, aren't they gonna do it again? That's the minimum. That's bait. the Bengals, they're exploiting their potential. they're like nine and a half wins. Of course they can be better than that. They have Joe Burrow on their team, but they're never healthy. So kind of a bait number there too. Lastly, Ravens, just an absurdly high number. I think eleven and a half is tied for the highest we've seen with the Rams. Nathan Hawthorne: Correct, yeah. Jarod McInroy: Don't take the bait and don't take the under. We'll get into it. let's start with the bangles. So I'm gonna kick it over to you to start Nathan Hawthorne: Yeah. Jarod McInroy: start us off. Nine and a half wins with the bangles. Nathan Hawthorne: Listen, everybody, everybody knows about Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense. It's obvious. But here's the deal the Bengals have a potential and a chance to be a top five defense in the NFL this year. They brought in Al Golden, and I promise you that they can do it. Al Golden was the defensive coordinator at Notre Dame under Marcus Freeman. Notre Dame had one of the best defenses in the country. Say what you want about their schedule. And what this defense did in the offseason with the departure already of Trey Hendrickson has been impressive. They added Dexter Lawrence. Everybody's freaking out about Dexter Lawrence. he hardly has any sacks last year with the Giants. That defense with the Giants was so focused on Abdul Carter, Brian Burns, and and and Kayvon Thibodeau. All they cared about was pass rushing that edge. So of course he wasn't gonna have the six have the sacks this year. You added Super Bowl champion, might I add, Boy Mafe. You also added Jonathan Island, or not not Jonathan Island, Jonathan Allen. You've got Kyle Duggar for depth with Jordan Battle and you got Brian Cook from the Chiefs. So they have not only added experience, they've added Super Bowl winning experience with Mafe and Cook in particular. And again, depth in some key areas. Their back end was atrocious last year, but it has the potential to be great. Now, Shamar Stewart was your big pass rusher draft last year. Is he gonna be healthy and can he produce this year? And then you also drafted Howell. Can he contribute on that defensive line? So I I know it sounds strange to talk about the Bengals and defense in the same breath, but I kid you not, this could be one of the best defenses in the NFL in a quick flip with Al Golden. Jarod McInroy: I don't hate it. I will say though, here's what I'm g just overall, we'll we'll talk about defense more in a second, but if we give the Forty Niners the amount of hate that we do for being old and injured, I think we have to hold the Bengals just as accountable. Now not necessarily as much in the old category. However, Nathan Hawthorne: Mm. Jarod McInroy: the injured category, they they're running out a lot of the the usual suspects, man. Like It's that's the same thing every single year. Joe Burrow's still the quarterback. T. Higgins still has a knickknack injury every now and then. Like the the injuries, they kill you. And you don't want to judge a team based on that. So again, that's probably why Vegas has to pick this line of nine and a half based on potential. Zach Taylor, that's that's the elephant in the room. Is I mean, come on. The dude has nine lives. He has nine lives. The fact that he still has a job is insane to me. And I I I don't know what it is. I and it's not even a dislike for him or even just a dislike for you know his coaching ability at all. But we always talk about fit scenario moving on to a new role. Like there's there's so many different things you can do. Doing the same thing over and over again is not necessarily the best way to approach it. but God man, I look at this and I'm like I I I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the the mo the over. It's gonna be ten they're gonna win ten or more games, certainly. but Zach Taylor, I think that this nine and a half number that Vegas set for you, this is your life. This is your life as the Bengals head coach. No, but this Nathan Hawthorne: We've said that how many years in a row now though? Jarod McInroy: is the this is it though. If you if you get the under, if they win nine or less games, he has to be out the building. If they win ten or more, he survives another year. I Vegas set this number not with this in mind but the Bengals front office needs to keep this in mind. He he's gotta go if it's if this isn't the year. And again, yes, they've dealt with a lot of injuries, so it's a lot of uncontrollables, but Listen, Bengals fans, whatever higher power you believe in, reach out to him and pray that Joe Burrow stays healthy for a full year. We n we need to see it. As a fan base, as a fan of just the NFL in general, as a fan of Joe Burrow. Like I've always rooted for him. He's a good guy. Great. He's fun to watch. We all want him to be healthy. We need it. Nathan Hawthorne: Listen, listen, I think Zach Taylor is just he's just Nick Siriani, if I'm being honest with you. If you no, hear me hear me out. If you look at their championship run, who was the offensive coordinator? Brian Callahan, a guy who now has some head coaching experience and proved to be a pretty good offensive coordinator, and Lou Anarumo, a guy who's been around the league a lot and had some and has had some NFL head coaching experience. Now, Al Golden, not quite the same. But what I'm saying, what I'm getting at with Zach Taylor is he needs a great coaching staff around him. And I think that this is the best coaching staff. I ideally the healthiest Joe Burrow, ideally the healthiest rest of the roster, blah, blah, blah, that they've ever had, right? So that's what I mean. I think he's got a great staff around him this year. I mean, we can't talk enough about Jamar Chase, T. Higgins. Chase Brown developed excellently last year. Yoshivas proved that he can be a capable wide receiver three. their offensive line isn't great. But they're returning all five starters. And there's something to be said about your continuity, especially on that offensive line. you extended Orlando Brown. You were able to hang on to R Reisner, even though he was kind of a free agent target for a few individuals for a few teams. So again, like we're certainly taking the over this year. And it's not just the health, it's specifically Joe Burroughs' health this year. We'll we'll see how far this team can go. Jarod McInroy: Yeah. It's all reliant on that. I will just slightly interject on the Zack Taylor comparison to Nick Seriani. He knows a little more ball than Nick Seriani. Can we at least acknowledge that? Like okay. Nathan Hawthorne: Yes, we can we can at least acknowledge that. I what I what the picture I'm trying to paint is some coaches need a better staff around them. Jarod McInroy: I get it. I hear what you're saying, for sure. But he knows a little more ball than Nick Siriani. Nathan Hawthorne: Speaking of coaches that I think need a bigger staff around them, the Steelers. What do you tell tell me what you got for the Steelers? Steelers at eight and a half. Jarod McInroy: The Steelers. Before we move on to the Steelers, I do want to also wrap up with I have the Bengals finishing second in the division. We'll talk about who's winning it later on, but just close that chapter before we move on. Steelers eight Nathan Hawthorne: Okay. Jarod McInroy: and a half. Don't don't expect this to be the Tomlin Steelers. I'm I just want to start there. They're about to deliver an absolute stinker of a season. It's going to take Nathan Hawthorne: Yes. Jarod McInroy: the under, first off, take the under. I've been trying to convince myself of this team. I like endlessly. I've been looking at this roster. I've been th running through everything in my mind. I'm even looking at last year and I'm trying to convince myself that th this thing's gonna work. but then I decided to not be a moron. dude, Rogers right Nathan Hawthorne: my gosh. Jarod McInroy: off into the sunset. DK and and Michael Pittman, they're just like the Spider Man meme pointing back and forth of of just mid receivers. You know, the defense, they're gonna be working overtime. They they battled injuries last year. because of how much wear and tear they're gonna get this year, they're probably gonna battle injuries again. yeah. The yellow towels will come in handy when they need to wipe their tears at the end of this absolute stinker of a season you're about to see. Under eight wins, this is it's over. This is this is a a a level of purgatory that nobody wants to be in. it's very similar to a few other teams in this league, but it's a dark place to be. Third in the division, not last. We'll talk about last Nathan Hawthorne: Listen, Jarod McInroy: later, but Nathan Hawthorne: I'm I'm pushing back so hard on this. Listen, Jarod McInroy: Go ahead. Nathan Hawthorne: the Steelers offense is going to be top five in the NFL this year. With Aaron Rodgers at quarterback. With yeah, yeah, yeah, we are. Yeah, we are. With Mike McCarthy at Jarod McInroy: We're clipping that. my god, that that might be one of the worst takes I've ever heard in my life. Nathan Hawthorne: head coach, with Aaron Rodgers as your quarterback, DK Metcalf in year two with Aaron Rodgers, Michael Pittman returning to the offense or coming to the offense. You've got Pat Fryermouth. That might be the big three. I mean, you talk about big body receivers. That's three massive targets. Good luck matching up with that. You added Rico Dowdle, who proved that he is a legitimate running back one and RB one with the Carolina Panthers. You still have Warren for your change of pace back. The offensive line got bigger up front. And McCarthy, say what you want about him. That offense is always dialed, whether that was with Green Bay and Rodgers back in the what felt like the 80s. Or with it or whether it was with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb. He knows how to call and create an offense. Now, hear me out. I'm taking the over. I'm sorry. I'm taking the under. And it's not because it's gonna be a stinker season, it's because they're just gonna lose games that they shouldn't. And that is the knock on Mike McCarthy. He's just a little bit loose on the details. He's not quite sharp on making sure there's no pre-snap penalties. He's not sharp on, okay, we need to manage this possession so that we can make sure we end the game with the ball. There's these little knick-knack things that as a head coach that your Bill Belichick's Andy Reeds, even someone as new as Ben Johnson, they don't make the mistake on in terms of game management. You can include timeouts in that conversation. So again, they'll lose a game that they shouldn't because of Mike McCarthy, and there'll be a game where Aaron Rodgers just decides not to throw the football. Jarod McInroy: Thousand percent. I agree with you. McCarthy is going to certainly hold them back in a lot of ways. They will lose a lot of games. However, top five offense. Nathan Hawthorne: Yeah, you see how you see how I bait and switch that. There's a there's a lot of positive things. There's a lot of positive things about this team. I mean it's a it's the same deal with Jarod McInroy: And they're gonna win eight or less games with a top five offense? Nathan Hawthorne: Yeah, it's gonna be disgusting. Jarod McInroy: Okay, if they put together a top five offense with their defense that they currently have, they will be a winning team. They will win a lot of games. So those two things cannot be true. Nathan Hawthorne: Where we'll hear well hear me out. I don't think they will because no, I and you wanna know why it's true because there are two other teams in their division. I think that they're better. They are not better than. Okay. And I think that those two other teams could sweep them. Bengals probably split. I think the Ravens take both games off But you're right about this defense. With with this defense led by Patrick Graham, Jarod McInroy: And they're both gonna have better offenses. That's just in their division. Nathan Hawthorne: with right, and that's and that's what I'm saying. So that's why it's gonna be tough. For them to have that over, plus you lose a few games that you shouldn't for no reason. You're gonna you're gonna put Jarod McInroy: Uh-huh. Nathan Hawthorne: up a ton of points. Remember the Lions last year, they put up a ton of points and a ton of empty yards, but it didn't necessarily mean that they won a bunch of games. Now, granted, they dealt with some injury here and there, but the defense wasn't superb. Now let me get back to the defense of the of the Steelers. You brought in Jarod McInroy: Mm-hmm. Nathan Hawthorne: Patrick Graham. I think that's a great hire. He's been a he's a guy who's worked under Belichick, Spags, and Flores throughout his career. Was he most recently the Raiders defensive coordinator? Yeah. So that doesn't feel great, but he's traditionally done well with less throughout his career. Cam Hayward is old. Patrick Queen, for some reason, looks lost as as athletic and talented as he is. Peyton Wilson's a superstar, I think. Derek Harmon, the young kid coming out of the University of Oregon a couple years ago, he's fantastic. Jalen Ramsey and Porter Jr., your back end's injured. Those are two of your guys. Do they have anything left in the tank when they come back? And then you got Asante Samuel Junior and Brandon Eccles. So like there's some unhealthy spots on the defense, but I think that they have a defensive coordinator who is great at managing those sort of things. Jarod McInroy: Yeah. Nathan Hawthorne: It's crazy. But yeah, they can have a they can have a top five offense. Jarod McInroy: It's a lot. It's a lot it's a lot you just threw out. I I've I I'm I'm in a blender right now, trying to understand how how you genuinely feel about the Steelers 'cause there's a lot of good but to say Nathan Hawthorne: There's a there's a Jarod McInroy: under eight and a half games that's not a good team. So I'll take it for what it is. Nathan Hawthorne: Right. There's a and and that's why you call it and that's why you call it purgatory, right? Those Mike Tomlins those Mike Tomlin Steeler teams, like, they were good, but they didn't win games. Is it? Jarod McInroy: That is true. That is true. No, no, no, no. That's a different pause, pause, pause, pause. The the Nathan Hawthorne: Is it? Jarod McInroy: Mike Tomlin Steeler teams were him elevating a crappy team to at least five hundred. This is this is a different Nathan Hawthorne: Was it him was it him maintaining a strong defense? Or was it his inability? Jarod McInroy: Combination of both. Nathan Hawthorne: He he was so blind to offense. He made Matt Jarod McInroy: Here we go. Nathan Hawthorne: Canada and Arthur Smith his offensive coordinators. There's not there's nothing Jarod McInroy: Fair. Bad bad hires. However, Nathan Hawthorne: you can do. And there's nothing you can do if your head coach is that blind in the coordinator decision making. There's nothing you Jarod McInroy: However, Nathan Hawthorne: can do. Jarod McInroy: that is a different situation than what they're in right now. The situation they're in right now is they have a lot of pieces that they went all in on that will not work. They will not get it done. In Nathan Hawthorne: You remember Jarod McInroy: those other Steeler teams, at least they were still adding pieces that were, you know, young talent here, TJ Watt here. They go and get a Jalen Ramsey. They you know, they take a risk on an Aaron Rodgers. Like th those are those are moves where you're kind of like you're you're kind of stuck, you're not getting over the hump. This is like the end where you know you're not gonna get over the hump, but you're doubling down. You just hired a coach that is not gonna be your coach of the future. Like this it's a lot of bat. And it takes a Nathan Hawthorne: Hear hear me out. Jarod McInroy: stinker to push this into an absolute full rebuild. Nathan Hawthorne: Second hole, Lewis River. You remember I had a great drive, had a little flip wedge in, too puttered for par. You kind of sprayed yours right, but then you ended up short, chipped on, and then you got up and down for par. We both got there two different ways, right? But it was the same result. Jarod McInroy: I actually birdied that hole. Nathan Hawthorne: The second hole. Jarod McInroy: Yeah, I remember I I joined a long putt for Bertie. Nathan Hawthorne: my gosh, you did. And see, you look how you got there in a different way. Ladies and gentlemen, that's gonna wrap it up for the Steelers. What Jarod McInroy: Yeah. Nathan Hawthorne: a what a man, what hole am I even thinking of? Anyways, Steelers, two different looks, but the result is gonna be you're in purgatory and you're winning games and you just needed to blow it up a little more aggressively than you did. Jarod McInroy: Third in the division. Take us over to the Ravens. Let's talk about Nathan Hawthorne: Ravens. Okay. Jarod McInroy: the big dog, eleven and a half. Nathan Hawthorne: 11 and a half wins. Listen, the Ravens, this is where defensive genius meets offensive savant. What I saw in week one of the preseason from the Ravens is all I needed to see from Jesse Minter and Declan Doyle. Ravens are a legitimate Super Bowl contender right now. They are fast, physical, and organized. I know there's tape of me saying that the Ravens are not contenders. I did not have faith in Jesse Minter. Hand up accountability. I was wrong. Man. There is something to be said about the preseason, and it's not about the players' performance per se, although that's a big part of it. It's the operational excellence. Are players getting on and off the field? Are the calls coming in on time? Do they know what personnels they're in? do they know the call that they're in? There's just so many small things that you can see about the detailedness on the sideline that you see with a guy like Jesse Minter that you wouldn't see with a with a guy like Jonathan Gannon with with the Cardinals. There's just and there's and there's a presence. And I just I loved what I saw. And what I also love is there's new accountability for Lamar Jackson. He's been talking about the time he's been spending with Declan, getting ripped up like he's a rookie quarterback. Rookie quarterback. This is an offensive coordinator who knows what strong offensive operations look like. He's worked with Sean Payton. He was Ben Johnson's offensive coordinator last year. There is a, again, just two guys who are young. But they are intense, they are focused, and they are detail oriented. And that should scare a lot of teams. Forget the weapons that they have on offense and defense. This is a coaching staff that could turn around any team in the NFL, Baltimore Ravens, Super Bowl contenders, eleven and a half. I am smashing the over button. Jarod McInroy: Yeah. Smash it as hard as you can. And the funny thing is is we're t I I started this off talking about bait. They they threw the same number as the Rams. So what they're trying to do, they want you to take the under so bad. They play the NFC South. They will chalk up a that's a clean sweep. Count Four. Nathan Hawthorne: That's four Ws. Jarod McInroy: Four wins. there's there's a whole lot of wins out there on that Raiden schedule. so when I when I look at eleven and a half, I'm more than confident in taking that. yeah, no, the team looks revitalized is what it is. I feel like again, you get to this point where you stall and and you wanna flip into a new direction, right? This is exactly what the Steelers should have done this year instead of doing what they did. This is a master class in let's go get young head coaches. Let's get younger because we've stalled out, we've been old for a while, we've seen you know, I mean Flacco is there forever and then, you know, they bring in Lamar Jackson and all of a sudden the team looks different. Like there's granted Flacco did win him a Superbowl, but Nathan Hawthorne: So what have you done for me lately, League? Jarod McInroy: Exactly. So it's it it's exactly that. Declan Doyle. This is gonna be the first the first test of what does the Ben Johnson tree look like? it's it's kind of his first candidate, right? Like Nathan Hawthorne: Ooh. Are we giving are we giving him a tree already? Jarod McInroy: That's the thing. You got a year and you got a job. I mean you you get a you Nathan Hawthorne: Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jarod McInroy: get a year you get a year under under a guy like that and all of a sudden everybody wants a piece of you because they want to know what did they teach you? What can we do to implement these things? Nathan Hawthorne: Mm-hmm. Jarod McInroy: you know, I I'm not gonna call Lamar Jackson and Caleb Williams a one to one comparison, but I mean they play fairly similarly. So Nathan Hawthorne: They've got some similar skill sets. Jarod McInroy: yeah, and then at the same time You dealt with I d I don't want to call it a limited Bears wide receiver room, but like at the same time, the pieces never really like fit until there was, you know, somebody running the show that could understand how all the pieces fit. so bringing that to now a team with two rookies, Zay Flowers, which by the way, Jacoby Lane, the talk of the town right now. I Nathan Hawthorne: That boy nice. Jarod McInroy: we don't like to sit there and be the I told you so, but we We got an episode out there where before the draft I said somebody better get their hands on Jacoby Lane. He looks nice. But yeah, and just they just look different. I think they're the clear div clear division winner, for sure. I'm not ready to crown them an AFC championship spot. I I'm very picky now. I've I've already dealt out one of the four championship series spots to the Nathan Hawthorne: You have. You have. Jarod McInroy: Chargers. So I don't want to give them that other spot. I think there's a few other teams, but they got to prove they can do it in the postseason too. That's going to be a huge piece of this. They're going to go get themselves home field advantage. Now, prove it when you play these tough teams. you know, the Chiefs have a lot of games they can lose. Maybe they have to come to you. like prove that you can win that game. That these are the big things where I'm like, I hope there's not a lot of growing pains this season for them because of the new coaching staff. And I hope it's really Nathan Hawthorne: Mm-hmm. Jarod McInroy: just a story of it clicks all right at the beginning. because Lamar Lamar deserves it. Nathan Hawthorne: Yeah, absolutely. The good news is that Jesse Mentor has all the chess pieces that he needs. He's got an elite edge rusher with Hendrickson. He's got an elite linebacker in Rokon Smith, an elite corner in Nate Wiggins, and an elite safety Kyle Hamilton. So all four of those kind of primary parts of your defense, you've got somebody who is above average, kind of quarterbacking their own space on the field. So that's fan. Jesse Minter is going to have such a blast coaching this team. I am worried about. Declan Doyle's offense and kind of know what we know about Ben Johnson and the use of tight ends. Mark Andrews is your guy. We know that he is old. You lost Isaiah likely, so you don't have anybody else really in that room who's played significant time. So I'm curious how that tight end position develops over the year. But I trust that defense to come out firing and hopefully win you some games if Lamar's not quite comfortable in the system. But again, what it's going to come down to is Can Lamar play like Lamar in the big games? I feel like Lamar thinks so hard about, I have to change my game and become this perfect flawless dropback passer to appease everybody on national television that I'm this, you know, high passer rating guy. Lamar, just play your game. I know Declan Doyle is gonna set you up for success. Just play your game. Just play your game. Louis Lamar. Give me Louis Lamar. But yeah, he's. Jarod McInroy: Gimme Louisville Lamar, man. my god, what he was doing there was what he Nathan Hawthorne: He's more he's more than capable. He just has to believe it up here. Lamar, I'm rooting for you. Jarod McInroy: Right there with you. Anything else? Anything else on the Ravens before we Nathan Hawthorne: Yeah. There's literally nothing else in this division worth talking about. Let's just ra let's just Jarod McInroy: No, there's one more team. Nathan Hawthorne: wrap up the show right now. Jarod McInroy: Here's what I'm gonna say. The team we're talking about is the Browns, five and a half. Boo. I'm giving you a big old boo. You bore me. Not to mention, you're you're destined for nothing but failure until you release Deshaun Watson. You you can't have somebody like that on your roster. You can't give that man millions of dollars and continue to. You sign the contract, you owe him the money, give him nothing but what is owed to him, and get him on the streets. Let him go work at freaking Who knows? Taco Bell. What not no, no shade on Taco Bell workers, but Nathan Hawthorne: They do some stuff out the back door. Jarod McInroy: If anyone other than Shador Sanders is your quarterback for seventeen games, all seventeen of them, this is a failure of a season. He wants to be the guy, right? He clearly he and he believes it. W everybody's ready to hand him the keys. Players specifically for whatever reason go to bat for him. and this is no knock on him. He could be He could be a great quarterback, but the only way we're going to be able to tell is give him 17 games and see what happens. W what what else anything else is a failure for the Browns because you have to get context this season. Take something out of this year. You are going to lose a bunch of games. We already know this. You're a bad team. You will continue to be a bad team. However, you just had a really good draft. You do have a lot of good pieces in the building. Monken might have been an interesting hire. Probably not the best, but I don't know enough about him to call it a bad hire yet. You Nathan Hawthorne: I do. Jarod McInroy: okay, but listen, at a minimum though, there's a lot of what ifs right now. And if that means firing Monken next year, fine. Whatever. But let it play out. Give him Shador, force him to play football, and see if Munken can coach. Those are your only two things you can do this year, and at the end of the year you will at least have more information going into next year than you do at this current moment and you'll have a brand new draft. They need they have at least I I don't wanna say next draft won't solve them. They probably need a couple, but they'll be in a lot better position by the end or by the start of next year. Nathan Hawthorne: Listen. The Browns have to have the worst PR team in the NFL. I have not seen a single positive clip from training camp come out of any of the Browns' social teams, out of any of their website, their local, what do you call it? Their beat writers. I have seen nothing positive at all. Fix Jarod McInroy: No one's on staff. Nathan Hawthorne: that. But here's the deal. I'm gonna do you mind if I take you into the corporate marketing world real quick? It's it's my it's my trade. I have to do this. We Todd Munken is what's called a nectarine. Okay. And what does that mean? That is a neck to ring. Todd Munken has been hired so that he can be fired and that they can get the head coaching jump on next year's search. At which point, when they tank this year, they will go after the QB of their dreams. Whether that's Dante Moore or Arch Manning, that's ultimately going to be their end goal. It will not be Deshaun Watson. It will not be Shador Sanders. Maybe it's Dylan Gabriel if they don't want to tank that hard and they feel like maybe he's good enough. I don't think so. But here's the deal. And then you have two Oregon quarterbacks on the roster. What are we talking about? Bottom line, Tom Munkin has been hired to be fired, unfortunately for him. We've seen what he can do on an offense. He loves to run the rock, which he did with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson. But you have an offense that can only produce for one wide receiver. And last year it happened to be Zay Flowers. Like things did not look very good. I love that you've got Harold Fannon Jr. I love that you've got Quinshawn Judkins coming off of injury. You drafted Denzel Bossman, Concepcion. Like the like you talked about, there's tons of talent in this room, but you've got an offense that feeds two people with a weak offensive line. You've got Quinsha Judkins getting a bulk of the carries if he can stay healthy. And then you're going to feed one of your wide receivers, who my assumption is going to be Concepcion, not even Judy. Judy's going to be so far out of the lineup by the end of this year. Forget about it. it's just It's a tough scene. And again, defense. This was an elite defense for a number of years. Yes, you lost Miles Garrett. Call him a stat patter, be angry all you want. At least you got Jared Verse back. You've got Mason Graham in year two. Carson Sweisinger's great. And Denzel Ward and Delpit are just straight class. So again, you've got great pieces in a lot of different places, but nobody has been able to bring everything together. And I just I just want to say, I think you're so right about Deshaun Watson on this roster. Like You just can't have somebody with that sort of history on your team and expect to do well. It just it doesn't work in the locker room. It doesn't work, sadly. Jarod McInroy: Get him out. you missed a name on offense too. Watch out for Dylan Sampson. I think he's a really talented running back and I think he'll Nathan Hawthorne: Okay. Jarod McInroy: I think he'll I don't it may he probably won't pop as, you know, the the feature back for the Browns. but maybe maybe him and Jugkins really get something going there. So watch out for Dylan Sampson. But let's wrap it up. We don't need to need to harp too much on these guys. Nathan Hawthorne: Yeah. Yeah. Ladies and gentlemen, that's going to do it for the AFC North. Let's go over how we think these quarterback or I'm sorry, how these teams are gonna finish as the wrap up. And then I have to ask you, rank these quarterbacks in the AFC North one to four. Jarod McInroy: First, who are you considering the Browns quarterback? Nathan Hawthorne: We're gonna consider Shador. We're just Browns quarterback room. Cause they're last. They're last. They're last anyways. Was it that important? Your number one QB. Jarod McInroy: Okay, last. That wasn't that important. dude, it's so the the conver the conversation between Lamar and Joe Burrow is so tough for me. we're not gonna spend too much time on it 'cause it's not the task at hand. But I am going to say It pains me. At this point, Joe Burrow one, Lamar two, Aaron Rodgers three, Brown's quarterback room four. Nathan Hawthorne: Browns QB room for. Okay, that makes sense. And because Lamar and Joe can be interchangeable depending on what you want to talk about, what you want to factor in, it makes sense. Our divisions and our division ranking, I think it's perfect. I think we both have, and correct me if I'm wrong, Ravens, Bengals, Steelers, and then the Browns, the doo-dos. Correct? Okay, that's gonna do it.
