- 3:16Speaker 1: to check that out. So today, guys, we are heading
- 3:22Speaker 1: over to the great state of Indiana, Okay. Indiana sits
- 3:28Speaker 1: in the heart of the Midwest, bordered by Michigan to
- 3:32Speaker 1: the north, Ohio to the east, Illinois to the west,
- 3:36Speaker 1: and Kentucky to the south. It's covered now. It's known
- 3:40Speaker 1: as the Hoosier State. It is just home to over
- 3:44Speaker 1: six point eight million residents, and it blends sprawling farmlands
- 3:50Speaker 1: with cities like Indianapolis, and they are famous for hosting
- 3:55Speaker 1: the Indianapolis five hundred. But beyond its racing legacy and
- 4:00Speaker 1: strong manufacturing routes, Indiana, like every state, focuses the sobering
- 4:06Speaker 1: reality of missing person cases. According to national data compiled
- 4:12Speaker 1: through the FBI's National Crime Information Center, thousands of missing
- 4:17Speaker 1: person reports are filed in Indiana each year, with sadly
- 4:23Speaker 1: the majority involving juveniles, and at any given time, several
- 4:29Speaker 1: hundred cases remain active across the state. Thankfully, many are
- 4:36Speaker 1: resolved within days, but so many are night and we're
- 4:40Speaker 1: going to talk about two of those cases today. Jessica
- 4:45Speaker 1: Kinsey was a typical fourteen year old who was in
- 4:49Speaker 1: the seventh grade at Union Middle School. The day after
- 4:53Speaker 1: celebrating Christmas with her family, Jessica went over to her
- 4:56Speaker 1: friend's house to show off her new Christmas presence while
- 5:00Speaker 1: her parents worked at the house. Now she called her
- 5:04Speaker 1: mom around two pm that afternoon to tell her mom, Hey,
- 5:08Speaker 1: I'm going to stay a couple more hours hang out,
- 5:11Speaker 1: but she promised she would call back at five pm
- 5:15Speaker 1: to let her mom know if she'd be coming home
- 5:17Speaker 1: for dinner or staying at her friend's house for dinner. Guys,
- 5:22Speaker 1: that was pretty common, least when I was a teenager.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I wanted to see who was serving the better dinner,
- 5:29Speaker 1: my mom or my friend's mom. Okay, call me shallow.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Food was important to me. When Mary did not hear
- 5:37Speaker 1: from her daughter, she called over to the friend's house
- 5:39Speaker 1: to find out what her daughter's plans were for dinner,
- 5:43Speaker 1: only to be told by the friend's mother that Jessica
- 5:47Speaker 1: had been picked up by Jimmy Klein. Her mother was
- 5:51Speaker 1: not immediately concerned, as Jimmy, who was twenty three, was
- 5:57Speaker 1: the son of one of her friends. She had known
- 6:00Speaker 1: him since she was a child, and her daughter Jessica
- 6:03Speaker 1: also knew him, so not a big concern Sadly, Mary
- 6:09Speaker 1: had no way of knowing that the phone call from
- 6:11Speaker 1: her daughter that afternoon of December twenty sixth, nineteen ninety five,
- 6:16Speaker 1: would be the very last time she would ever speak
- 6:20Speaker 1: to her daughter again. Hello on top, thank you for
- 6:25Speaker 1: joining us now. Jimmy never brought Jessica home that day,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and when she did not return, her mom called the
- 6:35Speaker 1: police and reported her daughter missing. Mary kind of had
- 6:39Speaker 1: an uneasy feeling about Jimmy and she didn't completely trust
- 6:45Speaker 1: his intentions. With Jessica and her daughter not returning home
- 6:50Speaker 1: heightened that feeling. It was discovered during the investigation that
- 6:56Speaker 1: Mark Henderson said he was paid by Jimmy to take
- 7:00Speaker 1: him and Jessica to Cloverdale, Indiana. Mark said that while
- 7:05Speaker 1: he and Jimmy talked during the drive, that Jessica sat
- 7:09Speaker 1: still and quiet in the back seat. Jimmy told him
- 7:14Speaker 1: that Jessica was pregnant with his child and that they
- 7:18Speaker 1: were heading to Niagara Falls, New York to get married,
- 7:22Speaker 1: and apparently he even showed Mark a pair of wedding bands. Guys,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna warned you, it's about to get a little crazy,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and I will try to keep the rants in check. Okay.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Once the three of them arrived in Cloverdale, they checked
- 7:41Speaker 1: into the Dollar In motel, with Mark in one room,
- 7:45Speaker 1: in Jessica and Jimmy and the other. Mark would later
- 7:49Speaker 1: say that he heard a lot of noise coming from
- 7:52Speaker 1: Jimmy and Jessica's room and that at one point it
- 7:56Speaker 1: sounded like a body was hitting the wall. Now, being concerned,
- 8:02Speaker 1: Mark went and knocked on Jimmy's door, and instead of
- 8:06Speaker 1: answering the door, Jimmy yelled out that he and Jessica
- 8:10Speaker 1: were fine and they were just having rough sex. Okay,
- 8:16Speaker 1: excuse me, Mark. I know we don't know each other,
- 8:19Speaker 1: we've never met, and I try not to judge and
- 8:22Speaker 1: I try to be kind, but I have to ask.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Did you not find it strange that a twenty five
- 8:30Speaker 1: year old man told you that the fourteen year old
- 8:33Speaker 1: girl was pregnant and that they were getting married, and
- 8:38Speaker 1: that you heard disturbing sounds coming from their hotel room.
- 8:44Speaker 1: And when he told you they were just having rough sex,
- 8:48Speaker 1: you didn't flip your shit out and want to see
- 8:51Speaker 1: in them open the door because you can't tell me
- 8:55Speaker 1: that you thought Jessica was eighteen. I've seen her, pat sure,
- 9:00Speaker 1: and I can tell you she does not look old
- 9:03Speaker 1: enough to be having a baby or running off to
- 9:07Speaker 1: get married to a twenty five year old man. Okay,
- 9:13Speaker 1: And you left the door. Instead of making sure everything
- 9:17Speaker 1: was okay in the room, he just screamed, Hey, everything's great.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I don't, Mark, I don't, I don't okay, Hello eighties
- 9:28Speaker 1: music man. Sorry, I'm trying not to rant too bad,
- 9:31Speaker 1: but seriously. Now, when Mark woke up the morning of
- 9:36Speaker 1: December twenty seventh, nineteen ninety five, he said that Jimmy
- 9:40Speaker 1: and Jessica were gone, along with his car, which he
- 9:45Speaker 1: reported stolen. How did he have the keys? I don't know.
- 9:51Speaker 1: I couldn't find now. December twenty sixth was the last
- 9:56Speaker 1: confirmed sighting of Jessica. Later, law enforcement would find traces
- 10:04Speaker 1: of Jimmy in Paris, Tennessee, which is about three hundred
- 10:08Speaker 1: miles from the hotel in Cloverdale, where he had gone
- 10:12Speaker 1: to a pawn shop and ponded a wedding ring which
- 10:17Speaker 1: later they discovered belonged to his grandmother. Okay, Mark had
- 10:25Speaker 1: reported his car stolen on December twenty seventh, but for
- 10:29Speaker 1: some unknown reason, it was not entered into the system
- 10:33Speaker 1: as stolen for several weeks. Okay, we don't know why.
- 10:39Speaker 1: But his car was later found all the way in Compton, California,
- 10:46Speaker 1: which is over two thousand miles from Cloverdale. That's a
- 10:51Speaker 1: long drive. Police were able to find out that an
- 10:56Speaker 1: unidentified black man had dropped the car at a garage
- 11:01Speaker 1: on January sixth, nineteen ninety six, for repairs. Now, if
- 11:06Speaker 1: police had entered the car into the system right when
- 11:09Speaker 1: it was stolen, police might have been able to react
- 11:13Speaker 1: much sooner. While investigating Jessica's disappearance and the connection to Compton,
- 11:21Speaker 1: detectives learned that during the spring of nineteen ninety six,
- 11:25Speaker 1: Jimmy had worked for a short period of time at
- 11:28Speaker 1: a local Compton ice cream store, and witnesses reported seeing
- 11:33Speaker 1: Jimmy with a girl. They couldn't confirm that it was Jessica,
- 11:38Speaker 1: but they said she kind of looked like her, and
- 11:42Speaker 1: to everyone's surprise, including mine, Jimmy returned back to Missouri
- 11:48Speaker 1: in June of nineteen ninety six alone and without Jessica.
- 11:56Speaker 1: He refused to work with the police, and he wound
- 11:59Speaker 1: up meeting up with Anna, who he married. Guys, I
- 12:05Speaker 1: have so many questions. How in the hell does a
- 12:07Speaker 1: twenty five year old, maybe twenty six at the time,
- 12:10Speaker 1: who was last seen with a missing fourteen year old
- 12:14Speaker 1: not finding himself arrested in his ass in jail, I mean,
- 12:19Speaker 1: at a bare minimum, interfering with a miner in their
- 12:23Speaker 1: parents' custody, crossing a state line with the miner without
- 12:27Speaker 1: the parent's permission, something. For God's sake, you can't tell
- 12:32Speaker 1: me that there's not something you couldn't hold him on.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Please tell me why now. Mary, who was Jessica's mom,
- 12:45Speaker 1: denied that Jessica and Jimmy were in a relationship and
- 12:50Speaker 1: said that due to medical reasons what she wasn't going
- 12:53Speaker 1: to share, she was absolutely sure that Jessica was not.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Jessica's friends even told police that Jessica never mentioned having
- 13:06Speaker 1: a boyfriend, much less anything about being involved with Jimmy.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Police were finally able to question Jimmy in two thousand
- 13:17Speaker 1: and four, but since they have not mirandized him, they
- 13:23Speaker 1: were not able to use anything that he told them
- 13:26Speaker 1: and their investigation, and they have not released what was said. Okay, really,
- 13:34Speaker 1: why didn't you mirandize him? I know you probably thought
- 13:37Speaker 1: he was going to clam up, but still I'm not
- 13:39Speaker 1: understanding how he's not. He was the last person seen
- 13:42Speaker 1: with her, and you have an eyewitness, the smart guy
- 13:45Speaker 1: how I don't know. Now. Union police chief told Jessica's
- 13:52Speaker 1: mom Mary that he believed Jimmy had killed Jessica, but
- 13:58Speaker 1: he had no proof. And I have to say, mister chiefa, please,
- 14:02Speaker 1: maybe you can't use the information directly to arrest him
- 14:07Speaker 1: that he told you when you did mirandize him, but
- 14:10Speaker 1: you damn sure could have used that to go and
- 14:13Speaker 1: try to find evidence that you could use. And once
- 14:17Speaker 1: again I asked, why the hell couldn't you charge him
- 14:20Speaker 1: with transporting a miner across the state line? Because Mark
- 14:23Speaker 1: told you that they went from Missouri to Indiana, that
- 14:29Speaker 1: is taking a miner across state lines. There has to
- 14:32Speaker 1: be something something. If anybody in any of the chats
- 14:37Speaker 1: knows why nothing was done, Darry needs to know, because
- 14:43Speaker 1: I'm pissed. Guys. It's also been reported that Jimmy told
- 14:48Speaker 1: several different people that he had murdered Jessica and that
- 14:52Speaker 1: he had disposed of her body. Now, I couldn't find
- 14:56Speaker 1: out if these people had ever called the cops and
- 15:00Speaker 1: reported these are tips, or if they did it later,
- 15:05Speaker 1: and we'll get to that. In November of two thousand
- 15:09Speaker 1: and five, police finally formally which means they mirandized him,
- 15:15Speaker 1: questioned Jimmy after they were able to extradite him back
- 15:20Speaker 1: to the county on warrants for bad checks. So you
- 15:25Speaker 1: could arrest him for bad checks, but you couldn't arrest
- 15:30Speaker 1: him for taking a minor without their permission across state lines.
- 15:35Speaker 1: And you even said she was pregnant by you, Which
- 15:38Speaker 1: is you admitting to having sex with an underage minor.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I can't, people, I can't. We're supposed to protect children
- 15:49Speaker 1: and hold people accountable. Now, when formally questioned, Jimmy denied
- 15:54Speaker 1: killing Jessica, and he said that the last time he
- 15:58Speaker 1: saw her was at a Hollywood hotel with the man
- 16:01Speaker 1: named Capone. Okay, guys, he admitted to the police he
- 16:06Speaker 1: took her across multiple state lines and saw her talking
- 16:11Speaker 1: to a man. How did the FBI not jump in
- 16:15Speaker 1: and get involved? I know, guys, y'all are all going terry.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Why are you anting so much? I don't understand. I don't.
- 16:24Speaker 1: And the hotel Jimmy said that he last saw Jessica
- 16:27Speaker 1: at was actually just a vacant lot and was not
- 16:32Speaker 1: nor had it been a hotel, and the police said
- 16:36Speaker 1: without any other evidence, they could not charge him in
- 16:40Speaker 1: the disappearance of Jessica, so he got away with it.
- 16:46Speaker 1: He didn't have to answer any questions. Didn't And part
- 16:52Speaker 1: of me wants to know why Mark wasn't charged. Why
- 16:55Speaker 1: wasn't Mark charged with facilitating the crime of taking a
- 17:00Speaker 1: miner across state lines and knowing somebody's having sex with
- 17:06Speaker 1: a miner. I don't people, I don't, I don't, I don't,
- 17:12Speaker 1: I don't understand. In April of two thousand and eight,
- 17:18Speaker 1: Jimmy shot and killed his wife Anna, then turned the
- 17:23Speaker 1: gun on himself. Thankfully, the couple's two small children had
- 17:28Speaker 1: been dropped off at their babysitters and were not at
- 17:32Speaker 1: home at the time of the murder suicide. When that
- 17:36Speaker 1: hit the news is when I'm wondering if people finally
- 17:40Speaker 1: came forward to say what Jimmy had told them, because
- 17:43Speaker 1: I couldn't find that they ever called in police tips.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Because if they would have, along with Mark's statement, how
- 17:50Speaker 1: could they not have done something? I I don't know.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Now I want you guys to remember. Jessica in Kinsey
- 18:00Speaker 1: was a sweet fourteen year old who loved Mexican food.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Same here at girl, loved the movie Dirty Dancing, Same Girl,
- 18:10Speaker 1: and her dog Max. I used to have a dog
- 18:13Speaker 1: named Max too. Sadly, Mary, Jessica's mom, passed away in
- 18:19Speaker 1: late twenty nineteen, never knowing exactly what happened to her
- 18:23Speaker 1: sweet girl or being able to say a proper goodbye.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Jessica's brother, Jerry still lives in Union and lives every
- 18:34Speaker 1: day without knowing what happened to his sister. At the
- 18:39Speaker 1: time of her disappearance, Jessica was five foot five, weighed
- 18:43Speaker 1: about one hundred and forty pounds, with brown hair and
- 18:46Speaker 1: brown eyes. She does wear eyeglasses and has pierced ears.
- 18:50Speaker 1: If you look at the photo if you're watching on YouTube,
- 18:54Speaker 1: TikTok or kick, that is an age progress photo that
- 18:58Speaker 1: you see on the right hand sid side, on the
- 19:01Speaker 1: left hand side as a picture of Jessica when she
- 19:04Speaker 1: went missing. And I want y'all to look at that.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Does that girl look eighteen? She does not. She does
- 19:10Speaker 1: not look eighteen. I personally think the police failed Jessica,
- 19:17Speaker 1: her mom, Mary, and her brother by not arresting Jimmy,
- 19:24Speaker 1: because Jimmy took all of that to his death. But guys,
- 19:31Speaker 1: if you have any information, if he told you anything else,
- 19:34Speaker 1: or you've heard something, even if you just think it's
- 19:39Speaker 1: a rumor, Okay, please contact the Union Police Department at
- 19:45Speaker 1: six three six five eight three thirty seven hundred, because guys,
- 19:51Speaker 1: her brother still deserves to know what happened to her.
- 19:55Speaker 1: He still needs to know, as well as the rest
- 19:58Speaker 1: of his family. And if Jessica's no longer with us.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I hope she was waiting with open arms for her
- 20:06Speaker 1: mom Mary when she came to happen. Sorry, guys, this
- 20:12Speaker 1: case really got to me because I don't understand. Don't understand.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I want to ask any of you if you know
- 20:20Speaker 1: of or if you have a left one missing and
- 20:22Speaker 1: are interested in having their story featured on an upcoming episode,
- 20:27Speaker 1: or if you want to join us for a live interview.
- 20:30Speaker 1: You can contact me at Terry at tcwtmedia dot com,
- 20:35Speaker 1: or you can contact us through any of our social
- 20:38Speaker 1: media accounts, either True Crime and mind Time or Terry
- 20:42Speaker 1: true Crime. We are out there everywhere, So next up.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Jonathan Allan Hanby was thirty seven years old when he
- 20:56Speaker 1: disappeared from miss Shawaka, Indiana, on February twenty six, twenty seventeen.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I hope I didn't slaughter that. In the years leading
- 21:06Speaker 1: up to his disappearance, Jonathan had face struggles with substance abuse,
- 21:12Speaker 1: and he had previous run ins with the law, but
- 21:15Speaker 1: according to those who loved him, he had turned his
- 21:18Speaker 1: life around. He had found religion and secured a job. However,
- 21:25Speaker 1: after he stopped taking his prescribed medication for depression and anxiety.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Family members began to notice that he seemed to be
- 21:33Speaker 1: struggling again. The last time friends and family heard from
- 21:38Speaker 1: Jonathan was February twenty third, twenty seventeen. He told his
- 21:44Speaker 1: parents he was going to go over to a friend's
- 21:46Speaker 1: house and spend the night there. On February twenty six,
- 21:51Speaker 1: he was last seen leaving his home in Misshawaka. At
- 21:57Speaker 1: the time, like I said, Jonathan was thirty seven years
- 22:00Speaker 1: years old. He would be forty one today. He was
- 22:03Speaker 1: last seen wearing a red Indiana University T shirt and jeans,
- 22:08Speaker 1: and he may have been wearing a car heart jacket.
- 22:12Speaker 1: He was driving a black two thousand and six BMW
- 22:16Speaker 1: five point thirty XI. His vehicle has also never been located.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Jonathan's parents have said that there were no signs he
- 22:27Speaker 1: was planning to leave the area. According to his father, Kevin,
- 22:32Speaker 1: Jonathan took no clothes, no monies, and he's never accessed
- 22:36Speaker 1: his bank account. Everything just went silent. Jonathan was known
- 22:44Speaker 1: as a huge sports fan who love Notre Dame and
- 22:49Speaker 1: enjoyed playing basketball. His mother, Cordea, has spoken about the
- 22:54Speaker 1: difficult difficulties that she has seen and been through actually
- 23:00Speaker 1: during sports season. She said they used to watch all
- 23:04Speaker 1: the games together and that she misses that special time
- 23:07Speaker 1: with him deeply. Mislwaukee Police began investigating his disappearance, and
- 23:15Speaker 1: at that time there were no signs pointing exactly to
- 23:19Speaker 1: a crime. Jonathan does remain missing along with this card. However,
- 23:25Speaker 1: the homicide unit later took over the case. Guys, if
- 23:30Speaker 1: you have any information in regards to the disappearance of
- 23:34Speaker 1: Jonathan Allen Hanby, please contact the Elkhart Police Department at
- 23:40Speaker 1: five seven four two nine five two eight two four.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I do want to also mention, because we got a
- 23:48Speaker 1: little confused when we were doing research on this case,
- 23:52Speaker 1: that there is a Jonathan P. Hanby who was found
- 23:56Speaker 1: deceased in August twenty twenty four in Indianapol Bliss, and
- 24:01Speaker 1: that this is a different person than Jonathan Alan Hanby,
- 24:06Speaker 1: just very similar names. I couldn't find if there was
- 24:10Speaker 1: any connection to them. Okay, I couldn't. I tried, but
- 24:15Speaker 1: I couldn't. Now, guys, I want to ask you please
- 24:20Speaker 1: go to our Midday Missing Facebook page or any of
- 24:26Speaker 1: my Terry true crime social media pages and share the
- 24:30Speaker 1: missing person posters for Jessica and Jonathan. They will be
- 24:34Speaker 1: posted within the next hour after this stream. And guys,
- 24:39Speaker 1: it sounds like it's a small thing, but I want
- 24:42Speaker 1: you to trust me. It means a lot to the families.
- 24:47Speaker 1: We hear from families who just say thank you, it
- 24:51Speaker 1: means so much. And guys, it just might help a
- 24:56Speaker 1: tip come in that helps these families get the answers
- 25:01Speaker 1: they deserve. I do want to thank you all for
- 25:07Speaker 1: joining me today if you're watching live, and also thank
- 25:10Speaker 1: you if you're a part of the replay crew or
- 25:12Speaker 1: listening on the podcast. It really means a lot to
- 25:16Speaker 1: us here all at the Midday Missing Team and to

- 26:46Speaker 1: to cover about this case, and we wanted to cover
- 26:49Speaker 1: the case in depth and do justice for all of
- 26:53Speaker 1: the victims and to let Alaska know, pardon my French,
- 26:57Speaker 1: they fucked up. Okay, just gonna tell oh, yeah, Alaska,
- 27:01Speaker 1: you screwed the pooch. So go watch last night's part

- 28:08Speaker 1: again thank you all for joining me, thank you for
- 28:12Speaker 1: watching later. It is really important to all of us
- 28:15Speaker 1: and to me to help share these family stories because
- 28:21Speaker 1: we do talk to a lot of families and we
- 28:24Speaker 1: hear about the struggles they have with law enforcement not
- 28:28Speaker 1: doing what they should do, not helping out, not getting
- 28:34Speaker 1: the resources that they need. So we like to give
- 28:37Speaker 1: them a platform to help keep their loved one story alive. Now, guys,
- 28:44Speaker 1: until next time, stay safe, stay aware, but most importantly,
- 28:51Speaker 1: if you see something, say something, keeping silence, you are
- 28:57Speaker 1: actually protecting the perpetrator. Okay, so do the right thing.
- 29:03Speaker 1: If you see something, say something, even if you think
- 29:06Speaker 1: it's a rumor. If you hear it, tell it. And
- 29:08Speaker 1: let's help these families bring their loved ones home. Okay, guys,
- 29:13Speaker 1: until next time, I will see you soon. Bye, guys,
