- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:05Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus at the ten yard line. Second to day
- 0:08Speaker 1: free wide receivers now in motion, has campus left or right,
- 0:12Speaker 1: Julius Jones a single setback Matt Pumpfecks looking at the
- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line, he throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catch in
- 0:21Speaker 1: the end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppas
- 0:25Speaker 1: and the kid out of Washington State has found himself
- 0:28Speaker 1: a place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com. Well,
- 0:34Speaker 1: when a Hawk Talk Preview edition week eleven, it is
- 0:36Speaker 1: time to bounce back by Hawks are looking to do
- 0:39Speaker 1: that at home against the Arizona Cardinals. Now, before we
- 0:42Speaker 1: get into it, here's Nasa Choby with the injury updates.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Now the time to update on the injury front. Chris Carson,
- 0:47Speaker 1: who returned to practice last week, did not play against
- 0:49Speaker 1: the Packers and will not practice as of Wednesday. This week,
- 0:53Speaker 1: head coach Pete Carroll gave us an updated where Chris
- 0:55Speaker 1: Carson is with his recovery. What I say is we
- 0:57Speaker 1: didn't make the positive progress we had hoped You know, so, um,
- 1:03Speaker 1: we're still working with it. So I just don't I
- 1:05Speaker 1: don't have a good update for you. If you don't mind,
- 1:07Speaker 1: just gotta wait another couple of days. We'll have more.
- 1:09Speaker 1: You just have to wait. On the positive side, Dwayne
- 1:11Speaker 1: Brown and Ryan Neil looked to be in great shape
- 1:13Speaker 1: heading into this weekend's game against the Cardinals. Dwayne, it
- 1:16Speaker 1: seems to have come out of the weekend pretty good
- 1:18Speaker 1: and well, and let me say that way. He came
- 1:20Speaker 1: out of it well. And we'll see. We'll go day
- 1:24Speaker 1: to day with them. But he was one through the
- 1:26Speaker 1: walk through today which is really encouraging. And then the
- 1:28Speaker 1: other one was, Yeah, Ryan's practicing today. So we're in
- 1:31Speaker 1: good shape there. All right. Now that we've gotten through
- 1:33Speaker 1: the injuries, it's time to hop into Seahawks week eleven
- 1:35Speaker 1: opponent the Arizona Cardinals. What's on tap? What's on tap?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Cardinals first place in the NFC West of the record
- 1:47Speaker 1: of eight and two. They've had wins over the Tennessee Titans,
- 1:50Speaker 1: Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, the Rams forty nine ers, Browns
- 1:55Speaker 1: Texans forty nine ers again fell to the Packers. The
- 2:00Speaker 1: Caroline of Panthers. So essentially they saw heered off this
- 2:03Speaker 1: season guns blazing bump. They won their first seven games
- 2:05Speaker 1: in impressive fashion. Since then, they've lost two of their
- 2:08Speaker 1: last three games to the Packers. In the Panthers, however,
- 2:12Speaker 1: injuries have played a huge role in that. Starting quarterback
- 2:15Speaker 1: Kyler Murray injured his ankle against the Packers and has
- 2:18Speaker 1: missed the last two games. Aj Green returned last week
- 2:21Speaker 1: after missing the forty nine Ers game, but was really
- 2:23Speaker 1: not effective. Had one reception for one reception in four yards.
- 2:27Speaker 1: DeAndre Hopkins, all Pro wide receiver, has missed the last
- 2:30Speaker 1: two weeks battling a hamstring injury, and lastly JJ Watt
- 2:34Speaker 1: done for the year. But this is crazy. He dislocated
- 2:37Speaker 1: his shoulder, tores, labor tores, bicet tores, rogue, tator cuffs,
- 2:42Speaker 1: so that shoulder all kinds of jacked up during the
- 2:45Speaker 1: Texans game. Bro He's still played, still play, He finished
- 2:50Speaker 1: that game, had attackle for loss in the QBA. JJ Wat,
- 2:52Speaker 1: You're just you're built different. You were built different. Um. Nonetheless,
- 2:57Speaker 1: so they're they're battling a lot of injuries right now.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Let's jump in the last week against the Panthers and
- 3:02Speaker 1: it was All Panthers Sunday, All Panthers. Main story coming
- 3:06Speaker 1: that game was a return of Superman Cam Newton as
- 3:09Speaker 1: he led the Panthers to thirty four to ten victory
- 3:12Speaker 1: over the Cardinals. Let everybody know that he's back. The
- 3:17Speaker 1: former MVP Panthers legend. Newton provided spark for that offense.
- 3:20Speaker 1: He had one touchdown and threw for another. It was
- 3:22Speaker 1: pretty impressive considered he didn't really practice last week and
- 3:25Speaker 1: when they asked him about the playbook, he's like, how
- 3:27Speaker 1: much you know? He was like, WHOA, I knew two
- 3:29Speaker 1: touchdowns worth? I knew enough. But the factors in that
- 3:33Speaker 1: game where Colin Murray and Hopkins were out. Cardinals have
- 3:36Speaker 1: been able to overcome a ton this season, whether it
- 3:39Speaker 1: was missing Murray or early year, whether it was Cliff
- 3:42Speaker 1: Kingsbury having to sit out with COVID. But last week
- 3:44Speaker 1: it seems like he caught up to him. Cope McCoy
- 3:47Speaker 1: looked a lot more like a backup as we've seen
- 3:49Speaker 1: from him over the years. He fumbled after being sacked
- 3:52Speaker 1: on third play of the game, setting up the Panthers
- 3:54Speaker 1: and Cam Newton for a first touchdown, and it was
- 3:56Speaker 1: downhill from there, man the Cardinals only had one hundred
- 3:59Speaker 1: and sixteen nine yards of total offense. McCoy finished the
- 4:02Speaker 1: game eleven of twenty for one hundred and seven yards
- 4:04Speaker 1: in one interception. Panthers are up twenty three zero at halftime.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Cardinals didn't get in the end zone until a James
- 4:10Speaker 1: Connor touchdown with nine minutes in the fourth quarter. Game
- 4:13Speaker 1: was well in hand at that point. Connor end of
- 4:15Speaker 1: the day with ten carries for thirty nine yards one touchdown.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Christ and Kirk led the receivers for the Cardinals with
- 4:20Speaker 1: seven receptions in fifty eight yards. Cardinals can overcome two turnovers,
- 4:25Speaker 1: one turnover and downs and just had eleven first downs.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Now something to watch for guys. Colt McCoy left the
- 4:30Speaker 1: game in the third quarter with a peck injury and
- 4:32Speaker 1: third string quarterback Chris Streveler finished that game and right
- 4:36Speaker 1: now McCoy is day to day. Could be a big
- 4:38Speaker 1: deal depending on the status of Colin Murray heading in
- 4:42Speaker 1: the Sunday now bombs jumping in his head to head.
- 4:44Speaker 1: What do you see from the Seahawks and Cardinals on paper? One?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Can the Seahows get a break and get a back
- 4:50Speaker 1: of the quarterback. Let's let's let's get a break, okay,
- 4:53Speaker 1: So Colin Murray, I hope you're okay, but I am
- 4:54Speaker 1: mad if I'll see you head to head matchups, oh man.
- 4:57Speaker 1: When it comes to the offense, Seahawks offenses ranked thirtieth,
- 5:01Speaker 1: the Cardinals are ranked ninth. Run offensive Hawks are twenty second,
- 5:05Speaker 1: the Cardinals are eighth. Pass offense, Hawks are thirtieth. Cardinals
- 5:09Speaker 1: are twelve points per game. Hawks are twenty second, averaging
- 5:12Speaker 1: twenty point one, and the Cardinals are fourth, averaging twenty
- 5:15Speaker 1: eight point seven. Defensively, the Hawks have the worst defense
- 5:19Speaker 1: on paper, but we know the last four weeks they've
- 5:22Speaker 1: been playing well. Cardinals are fourth overall rush against the rush,
- 5:27Speaker 1: the Hawks are twenty six against the rush, the Cardinals
- 5:29Speaker 1: are nineteenth. Defense past defense, the Hawks are twenty ninth
- 5:33Speaker 1: and the Cardinals are fifth. Points allowed per game Hawks
- 5:37Speaker 1: or ninth averaging twenty giving up twenty, and the Cardinals
- 5:40Speaker 1: are ranked fifth. So you're going up against a good
- 5:43Speaker 1: defense and a good offense. But these numbers kind of
- 5:46Speaker 1: mess you well when it comes to the Seahawks, because
- 5:48Speaker 1: if you've been watching closely, you know this defense has
- 5:50Speaker 1: been playing at a high level. Here is a stat
- 5:53Speaker 1: that got a bump that I'm happy to see. Interceptions
- 5:56Speaker 1: by the Seahawks now have four and one from Jamal Adams,
- 6:01Speaker 1: got three from Digs. Cardinals have eight calls, more turnovers.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I think that's the next step for this defense. You're
- 6:08Speaker 1: playing well, You're not allowing a bunch of points. You're
- 6:10Speaker 1: keeping this team in the game. Now with time to
- 6:13Speaker 1: create more turnovers and more sacks. We saw Alan Robinson
- 6:18Speaker 1: last week get really close about three or four times.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers moving all around the pocket. Now it's time
- 6:23Speaker 1: to finish those plays. There's a head to head. Let's
- 6:26Speaker 1: get to know the history. No, your history, all right,
- 6:30Speaker 1: bumb Well. The Seahawks and Cardinals have a long history
- 6:33Speaker 1: of These guys have played a ton of matchups against
- 6:35Speaker 1: each other. The Seahawks lead the all time series twenty
- 6:37Speaker 1: two to twenty one and one, all games taken place
- 6:40Speaker 1: in the regular season. Russell Wilson is ten seven and
- 6:43Speaker 1: one during his time in Seattle, but over the years
- 6:46Speaker 1: he has a better record in Arizona. He is six
- 6:48Speaker 1: to two and one on the road and is just
- 6:50Speaker 1: four and five at home. Now, last time these two
- 6:53Speaker 1: teams played was Thursday Night Football and the Seahawks beat
- 6:55Speaker 1: the Cardinals twenty eight to twenty one. Russell Wilson was
- 7:00Speaker 1: very efficient, going twenty three of twenty eight for one
- 7:02Speaker 1: hundred and ninety seven yards two touchdowns. Carlos Hide, if
- 7:05Speaker 1: you guys remember him, had his best game in the
- 7:06Speaker 1: Seahawks uniform, rushing for seventy nine yards on fourteen carries,
- 7:10Speaker 1: one touchdown. Tire Lockett solid game, nine reception six seven
- 7:13Speaker 1: yards a touchdown. DK Metcalf also got in the end
- 7:16Speaker 1: zone and the Seahawks defense really shut down the run
- 7:19Speaker 1: that game, holding the Cardinals are just fifty seven yards.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And this was a big game. The Seahawks came off
- 7:23Speaker 1: a two game losing Street last year. They really needed
- 7:25Speaker 1: to win to kind of propel them forward on Thursday
- 7:28Speaker 1: Night Football, and they did that. Colin Murray he had
- 7:31Speaker 1: a decent game, going twenty nine forty two for two
- 7:33Speaker 1: hundred sixty nine yards and two touchdowns, but with sacked
- 7:35Speaker 1: three different times and one of those sacks sealed the game.
- 7:40Speaker 1: The Seahawks were trailing, or the Cardinals were trailing, excuse me,
- 7:43Speaker 1: twenty eight to twenty one. Cardinals were driving first and
- 7:46Speaker 1: ten from the Seahawks twenty seven yard line with fifty
- 7:48Speaker 1: four seconds remaining. Colin Murray without three straight incompletions, bringing
- 7:52Speaker 1: up a fourth in ten with a game on the line. Now,
- 7:54Speaker 1: it's tigned to enter in Carlos Dunlap. Three receivers Fitzpatrick,
- 8:00Speaker 1: fitzgeralda Is and Kurt go to the far side, empty backfield.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Murray takes the snap, looks, gets head, comes down. Seahawks
- 8:08Speaker 1: sack getting there was done left, came off the edge
- 8:14Speaker 1: almost untouch you play by the Seahawks defense, and the
- 8:19Speaker 1: Hawks are gonna win this game at Loving Field, and
- 8:23Speaker 1: it's gonna come on a great defensive play with thirty
- 8:27Speaker 1: four seconds left now. But the reason I brought that up,
- 8:31Speaker 1: Seahawks would obviously hold on to win the game twenty
- 8:33Speaker 1: twenty one because Carlos done that. Man, we got accustomed
- 8:36Speaker 1: to seeing that. He showed up here last year after
- 8:39Speaker 1: not having a great end there in Cincinnati, and he
- 8:41Speaker 1: came out. I think he had five and a half
- 8:42Speaker 1: sacks last year and he just made a lot of
- 8:44Speaker 1: game changing plays. That one won the game for the Seahawks.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And we know what he's capable of. We know he's
- 8:50Speaker 1: a great pass rusher. He's been in the league a
- 8:52Speaker 1: long time, been on the block, sacked almost every quarterback
- 8:54Speaker 1: that's playing in the National Football League right now, and
- 8:57Speaker 1: I just want to play that a little reminder, Carlos.
- 8:59Speaker 1: We love you, baby, we need to see you. We've
- 9:01Speaker 1: seen you getting close here and there time to time.
- 9:03Speaker 1: But we really need that Seahawks pressure to return this week. Now,
- 9:07Speaker 1: let's get back to the best division in football, the
- 9:10Speaker 1: NFC West what's the word? And the Seahawks or the
- 9:17Speaker 1: NFC West champs again, what's the word? In the West?
- 9:22Speaker 1: On Hot Talk? The NFC West is looking tough for
- 9:26Speaker 1: the Seahawks right now. The Cardinals are at top, sitting
- 9:29Speaker 1: at eight and two, the Rams behind them at seven
- 9:31Speaker 1: and three, the Niners at four and five, and the
- 9:33Speaker 1: Hawks at the bottom looking up at three and six.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Not a pretty picture for the Seahawks when it comes
- 9:37Speaker 1: to the NFC West. They're not used to being dead
- 9:40Speaker 1: last looking up as we know it, They're probably not
- 9:43Speaker 1: gonna win the NFC What's tragedy needs to happen at
- 9:47Speaker 1: the top for that to happen. I don't see that
- 9:49Speaker 1: going down, But the four remaining divisional games will decide
- 9:52Speaker 1: the Seahawks season. They got to play Arizona twice. They
- 9:55Speaker 1: play the Rams once and San Francisco once. Let's recap
- 9:58Speaker 1: his Rams forty nine Ers game we saw Monday Night
- 10:02Speaker 1: Football Santa Clara came as a complete shock to probably everybody.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Two times the forty nine ers have one at home.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Two times they went at home, and one of them
- 10:11Speaker 1: was on Monday Night football. In the past year. Two
- 10:13Speaker 1: times they went home. Finday nine Ers were all over
- 10:15Speaker 1: the Rams, beating them thirty one to ten. The tone
- 10:18Speaker 1: was set early. Matthew Stafford threw an interception there on
- 10:21Speaker 1: his first possession. Then the Niners respond to go on
- 10:24Speaker 1: an eight team play ninety three yard drive, ending with
- 10:26Speaker 1: a George Kill touchdown. The falling possession, Stafford throws another interception,
- 10:31Speaker 1: except this one goes to the house. Jimmy Ward takes
- 10:33Speaker 1: it back for six, making it fourteen. Oh. The Rams
- 10:36Speaker 1: get their stuff together. They respond. They go seven play
- 10:38Speaker 1: seventy five yards, ending with a Tyler Higbee touchdown. But
- 10:41Speaker 1: from there on out, the forty Nineers just did what
- 10:43Speaker 1: they're supposed to do. Twenty one on answer ports before
- 10:46Speaker 1: the Rams convert on garbage time. But the highlight the
- 10:49Speaker 1: star of this game was Deepo Samuel had one hundred
- 10:52Speaker 1: and thirty three total yards, two touchdowns, and he was
- 10:55Speaker 1: everywhere on the field in the slot, outside, even lined
- 10:59Speaker 1: up at him back. Jimmy g had a very efficient
- 11:02Speaker 1: game fifteen to nineteen, one hundred and eighty two yards,
- 11:05Speaker 1: two touchdown. George Kittle five receptions, fifty yards and a touchdown.
- 11:09Speaker 1: On the other side, Matthew Stafford, who was an MVP
- 11:11Speaker 1: type guy in my opinion, struggle for the second consecutive week.
- 11:15Speaker 1: He was twenty six to forty one, two hundred forty
- 11:17Speaker 1: three yards, one touchdown, two interceptions. The Rams run game
- 11:21Speaker 1: just was not there. Fifty two yards on ten carries.
- 11:24Speaker 1: The one shining star for the Rams, you know who
- 11:27Speaker 1: was Cooper Cup eleven receptions, one hundred twenty two yards.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Robert Woods might be missed more than we know. We
- 11:34Speaker 1: saw Obj out there. It was he gonna save the day.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I think he's still getting acclimated to his offense. Only
- 11:39Speaker 1: had two receptions for eighteen yards on three targets. One
- 11:42Speaker 1: of those targets was intercepted. Von Miller got his feet
- 11:46Speaker 1: wet with this new ball club. He had three tackles,
- 11:48Speaker 1: one tackle for loss, and he found out that George
- 11:51Speaker 1: Kittle is a great blocker. Man. He pancaked this man
- 11:55Speaker 1: like a dominant panky, not a slip of fall. Can't
- 11:58Speaker 1: get up. No, I squared you up, I'll block you.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I put you into the ground. The thing we learned
- 12:04Speaker 1: about the NMC West is that man, it's tough and
- 12:07Speaker 1: it's gonna be a fight whoever you play in this division,
- 12:09Speaker 1: no question about it. And just another bump to George Kittle.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Me and you've talked about this for years, how good
- 12:14Speaker 1: that man is. And to get a guy like von Miller,
- 12:16Speaker 1: get your hands inside and his chest play and drive
- 12:19Speaker 1: him into the ground is unbelievable. George Kittle is the
- 12:22Speaker 1: best tight end in football, most complete. Travis Kelsey might
- 12:25Speaker 1: have more yards and stuff like that, but nobody blocks
- 12:27Speaker 1: and plays as hard as George Kittle does. But one
- 12:30Speaker 1: thing I want to bring up bump so ob J Right,
- 12:33Speaker 1: he makes his debut two receptions, eighteen yards, Okay, nothing
- 12:36Speaker 1: to write home about, But people, I just want to
- 12:39Speaker 1: say this man, and I'm not even the biggest ob
- 12:41Speaker 1: J fan, but people need to relax. Man, you got
- 12:43Speaker 1: your boy. Yeah, Troy Aciman out there saying, you know,
- 12:46Speaker 1: he might have changed the dynamic of the locker room.
- 12:48Speaker 1: You know, saying. Stafford might have thrown that pick because
- 12:50Speaker 1: he was trying to get ob j the ball, and
- 12:52Speaker 1: he might have felt that pressure that Mayfield felt, you know,
- 12:55Speaker 1: because you gotta get him the ball. You know, he's
- 12:56Speaker 1: running a deep route. That's whys in the game. I
- 12:58Speaker 1: gotta get him the ball, you know what I'm saying.
- 13:00Speaker 1: He gotta get the ball in his hands. Bro, he
- 13:02Speaker 1: played fifteen snaps. Are you kidding me? He was there
- 13:05Speaker 1: for four days or three days? You're telling me he
- 13:07Speaker 1: changed the dynamic of the locker room on fifteen plays.
- 13:10Speaker 1: May miss me with all that stuff, All right, just relax.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Here's the thing. In a month from now, you can
- 13:15Speaker 1: tell me if he's complaining on the sideline, throwing a fit,
- 13:18Speaker 1: you know, and things start falling apart, he's making comments
- 13:20Speaker 1: in the media and doing all that stuff. Okay, maybe
- 13:22Speaker 1: that'll happen. I'm not saying it. Well, I'm not saying
- 13:24Speaker 1: it won't. What I'm saying after one game, relax, guys,
- 13:26Speaker 1: let them have a chance and let's see what this
- 13:27Speaker 1: is actually about. Let him build some chemistry. You're not
- 13:31Speaker 1: just gonna throw a guy out there and he's automatically
- 13:33Speaker 1: gonna go for a hundred like that. He has to
- 13:35Speaker 1: understand the playbook. He's got a Matthew Stafford, has to
- 13:38Speaker 1: learn his body language at the top of his rouse.
- 13:40Speaker 1: There's a lot that goes into us. So, yes, I'm
- 13:42Speaker 1: with you. They need a chill, all right, man? What's
- 13:44Speaker 1: the playoffs looking like? Oh? Well, it's a sore subject,
- 13:49Speaker 1: right the Seahawks. They didn't do it themselves any favors
- 13:52Speaker 1: last Sunday. They now falling a fourteenth out of sixteen
- 13:55Speaker 1: teams in the NFC, which is just unbelievable to write
- 13:58Speaker 1: and say. The vikings last week, the Panthers won, the
- 14:01Speaker 1: Eagles won forty nine ers one Washington football team. One
- 14:05Speaker 1: only positive part of last week was the Saints loss,
- 14:08Speaker 1: and the Falcons were embarrassed by the Cowboys. It's a
- 14:11Speaker 1: completely different discussion. But things are not over for the
- 14:14Speaker 1: Seahawks by any means. But I'm telling you right now, Bump,
- 14:17Speaker 1: the margin for air is so small. I mean, we
- 14:20Speaker 1: got to quote our guy al Pacino to slow too fast,
- 14:23Speaker 1: can't guard get there? The inches we need are everywhere
- 14:26Speaker 1: around us. Every break of the game, every minute, every second.
- 14:32Speaker 1: That was pretty good. I was pretty good. But man,
- 14:36Speaker 1: so I've been saying this for weeks. I think a
- 14:38Speaker 1: nine and eight team is going to make the playoffs.
- 14:40Speaker 1: The problem is the Seahawks aren't in great shape when
- 14:42Speaker 1: it comes to the the tiebreakers. They're one and four in conference,
- 14:45Speaker 1: which is that second tiebreaker, and for the Seahawks to
- 14:47Speaker 1: even go nine and eight, they need to go six
- 14:49Speaker 1: and two the rest of the way and probably need
- 14:51Speaker 1: some help. On top of that, they have two games
- 14:53Speaker 1: against the Cardinals, one against the Rams, who have a
- 14:55Speaker 1: combined record of fourteen and five. Positive side, though, there's
- 14:59Speaker 1: five games from any against the Washington Football team, forty
- 15:02Speaker 1: nine Ers, the Texan Bears, and Lions. Those guys have
- 15:05Speaker 1: a combined record of eleven and thirty three. However, as
- 15:08Speaker 1: we know it's a week to week league, those games
- 15:10Speaker 1: aren't guaranteed. The Washington Football team goes out there in
- 15:13Speaker 1: upsets the defending champions, the Buccaneers, and the forty nine Ers,
- 15:17Speaker 1: who were reeling, just stomped out the Rams. The one
- 15:19Speaker 1: positive thing is every team the NFCUS is just one
- 15:21Speaker 1: game out in the lost column for that wildcard spot
- 15:24Speaker 1: right now, the seahawts has got to take it one
- 15:26Speaker 1: week at a time. Panthers are five and five and
- 15:28Speaker 1: that seven spot, Vikings four and five, Falcons four and five,
- 15:32Speaker 1: Eagles four and six, forty nine Ers four and five,
- 15:34Speaker 1: Washington three and six, Giants three and six, and the
- 15:36Speaker 1: Seahawks are three and six. So a lot of work
- 15:39Speaker 1: to do, but just one week at a time. But
- 15:40Speaker 1: let's get back over to these Cardinals. Lets look at
- 15:42Speaker 1: these matchups. Man up? Is this man up on Hawk Talk?
- 15:55Speaker 1: Man up? Let's look at these matchups. You got Kyler
- 15:58Speaker 1: Murray or Culton McCourt versus Sea Hawks defense. Before Murray
- 16:02Speaker 1: got hurt, he was having an MVP type season. In
- 16:04Speaker 1: eight games, he is at one eighty six for two
- 16:07Speaker 1: fifty six two thousand, two hundred and seventy six yards,
- 16:09Speaker 1: seventeen touchdowns and seven interceptions. Also has carried the rock
- 16:13Speaker 1: forty nine times for one hundred forty seven yards and
- 16:15Speaker 1: two touchdowns. He has been sacked seventeen times, but completing
- 16:19Speaker 1: seventy seventy two percent of his passes, which is a
- 16:22Speaker 1: career best. He's definitely stepping into the next tier of
- 16:26Speaker 1: really good quarterbacks and will be a problem for the
- 16:28Speaker 1: Seahawks four years to come with album Murder. The Cardinals
- 16:32Speaker 1: they're much different team. Enter back of Colton McCoy. In
- 16:35Speaker 1: two games, McCoy is thirty three or forty six, three
- 16:37Speaker 1: hundred and fifty six yards, one touchdown, one interception, and
- 16:41Speaker 1: has been sacked four times. Now I was a disaster
- 16:44Speaker 1: for him. Last week he played well against the forty
- 16:47Speaker 1: nine ers. He won twenty two or twenty six for
- 16:49Speaker 1: twenty forty nine yards, one touchdown and no intercessions. Something
- 16:52Speaker 1: we will be following very closely is the health of
- 16:55Speaker 1: both quarterbacks. Kyler Murray is still dealing with an ankle
- 16:58Speaker 1: Coulte McCoy's day to day with a pet injury. It's
- 17:00Speaker 1: important to remember that the Cardinals have a buy next week,
- 17:03Speaker 1: so they might just say, look, we're gonna pump the
- 17:04Speaker 1: brakes a little big play say and let these backups going.
- 17:07Speaker 1: No need to rush for Kyler Murray to get back.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So therefore Chris Streveler will step in at the quarterback spot.
- 17:14Speaker 1: On the flip side, the Hawks are playing their best
- 17:16Speaker 1: football of the year through the last four games. They
- 17:18Speaker 1: haven't allowed more than twenty three points and are giving
- 17:22Speaker 1: up just fifteen points per game. On the season, they
- 17:24Speaker 1: are ninth in the NFL just allowing twenty points per game.
- 17:28Speaker 1: This is where the Hawks could possibly get their break.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Kyler Murray never wish battle on anybody, but hey, play
- 17:34Speaker 1: it smart, play smart, hazy sitting Murray, you have to
- 17:37Speaker 1: buy coming up, let's play against a backup. If the
- 17:40Speaker 1: Hawks do play against the backup, I think the defense
- 17:43Speaker 1: is licking their chops, like, let's go, man, four months straight.
- 17:46Speaker 1: We've been playing good football. You held Aaron Rodgers, a
- 17:48Speaker 1: Hall of Fame quarterback, from throwing touchdown last week. Keep
- 17:52Speaker 1: the good times rolling. If Murray is in the game,
- 17:55Speaker 1: you must buy, you must corral. But something tells me
- 17:58Speaker 1: they're gonna see a backup. Hey man, let's speak it
- 18:00Speaker 1: into existence. Like you said, we was nothing bad on anybody,
- 18:03Speaker 1: But I would love to see Colte McCoy. Even though
- 18:05Speaker 1: Colte McCoy did beat the Seahawks last year with the Giants,
- 18:07Speaker 1: but that was more of an anomaly than anything. But honestly, yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 1: I know. I think Colin Murray is obviously incredibly telling
- 18:13Speaker 1: the quarterback. If he's back there behind center, it's gonna
- 18:15Speaker 1: be a tough day for the Seahawks. But they're battle
- 18:17Speaker 1: tested right now. You know they went up against Ben
- 18:19Speaker 1: Roethlisberger a couple of weeks ago. They went up against
- 18:21Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers, like you mentioned, so I feel good about that.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Now on our side, Russell Wilson against his Cardinals defense. Now,
- 18:28Speaker 1: Bob Russell made his heavily into paid return as we
- 18:30Speaker 1: all know, the last week against the Packers and didn't
- 18:32Speaker 1: really put up the numbers were accustomed to see him.
- 18:34Speaker 1: He was twenty to forty, one hundred and sixty one yards,
- 18:37Speaker 1: no touchdown, two interceptions. It was just a fifth time
- 18:39Speaker 1: he had a rating below forty in his Hall of
- 18:41Speaker 1: Fame career. Obviously, a lot of factors weren't played. He
- 18:45Speaker 1: had the weather, obviously playing on a surgery group, paired
- 18:48Speaker 1: finger on his storing hand, not to mention missing four
- 18:50Speaker 1: weeks of practice, so to me, bump even beyond the finger,
- 18:53Speaker 1: I think some of that was just rushed, right, I mean,
- 18:55Speaker 1: not being out there. I don't care how great you are.
- 18:57Speaker 1: I think we even saw that for Aaron Rodgers, and
- 18:59Speaker 1: he missed a lot less and he was healthy. It's
- 19:01Speaker 1: a lot less time than rusted. So I think some
- 19:02Speaker 1: of that was rust on the year, russells one hundred
- 19:05Speaker 1: and ten for one sixty five one thousand, three hundred
- 19:07Speaker 1: and fifty seven yards, ten touchdowns, three interceptions, twenty two
- 19:11Speaker 1: carries one hundred yards one touchdown. The Seahawks were shut
- 19:13Speaker 1: out for the first time in Russell's career, and I
- 19:15Speaker 1: think he bounces obviously, and he bounced back in a
- 19:17Speaker 1: huge way. I expect him to elite be a lot
- 19:19Speaker 1: better this week, bump, But how does he get there?
- 19:22Speaker 1: What's the plan for his success this week against a
- 19:24Speaker 1: good Cardinals defense. One does get healthy. He said he
- 19:28Speaker 1: was one hundred percent. I don't think he was, so
- 19:31Speaker 1: Father Time is going to help him out when it
- 19:33Speaker 1: comes to that. And now just being accurate, I think
- 19:36Speaker 1: him not being as accurate as we're used to saying
- 19:38Speaker 1: was a result of him not being one hundred percent healthy.
- 19:40Speaker 1: And now it's the guys around him need to make
- 19:43Speaker 1: plays for him. You gotta make the difficult catch, you
- 19:46Speaker 1: gotta go down and dig the ball out. The dirt.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Offensive line has to protect that old line did not
- 19:51Speaker 1: have a great game against the Packers last week, so
- 19:55Speaker 1: there are things that need to happen around him. He
- 19:57Speaker 1: took accountability after the game. He needs to make better decisions,
- 20:00Speaker 1: don't force the ball down the field. But this is
- 20:02Speaker 1: a team sport. Line has to play better. Playmakers need
- 20:05Speaker 1: to make plays. Russ, just rest put your hand in
- 20:08Speaker 1: that chamber. I'm just assuming his hand was in a
- 20:10Speaker 1: chamber for three weeks. Whatever you were doing, keep the
- 20:13Speaker 1: healing process gone and you'll be fine. Yeah, that's what
- 20:17Speaker 1: I hope, so man, because this Cardinals defense you mentioned
- 20:19Speaker 1: at the top is no joke. Fourth the NFL, all,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I mean, just three hundred nine yards a game. Fifth
- 20:23Speaker 1: against the pass, middle of the packs up in the
- 20:25Speaker 1: run their nineteenth. But they got some dudes, They ask
- 20:28Speaker 1: some good linebackers Hicks and Isaiah Simmons. Marcus Golden leaves
- 20:31Speaker 1: a team with nine sacks, and you can't forget about
- 20:34Speaker 1: Chandler Jones who had five sacks in Week one five
- 20:37Speaker 1: only having one since then. So it'll be interesting, is
- 20:39Speaker 1: we kind of will walk to the film and go
- 20:40Speaker 1: through the week as we talked to some guys from
- 20:42Speaker 1: Arizona and see what's going on there. But another matchup
- 20:44Speaker 1: James Connor vers at Seahawks Front seven. The Cardinals, similar
- 20:48Speaker 1: to the Packers, had a two headed monster running back. However,
- 20:51Speaker 1: the Cardinals will be with just one as they place
- 20:53Speaker 1: Chase headmans on ir to rehab an injured ankle. On
- 20:56Speaker 1: the season, Edmonds had four hundred and thirty yards on
- 20:58Speaker 1: seventy six carries in another two hundred and eleven yards
- 21:01Speaker 1: on thirty receptions. They're now going to rely on James Connor,
- 21:04Speaker 1: who is not a bad option by any means. He's
- 21:07Speaker 1: been a touchdown machine on the year as a twelve
- 21:09Speaker 1: on the season through ten games, four hundred and ninety
- 21:12Speaker 1: three yards on one hundred and twenty five carries, and
- 21:14Speaker 1: he's just impressive. Dude. Man. If you remember he had
- 21:16Speaker 1: cancer when he played at pitt there he was totally
- 21:18Speaker 1: the only one week to live and for that man
- 21:21Speaker 1: to go from that moment to where he's at now
- 21:23Speaker 1: is pretty crazy. And for me, I just think with
- 21:26Speaker 1: all the with all the flux about who's playing quarterback,
- 21:29Speaker 1: you can't have someone else getting after it, man. So
- 21:31Speaker 1: Connor needs to be shut down with that question. He
- 21:33Speaker 1: can't have a big day if you want to have
- 21:34Speaker 1: any chance to win on Sunday. Good thing for the
- 21:36Speaker 1: Seahawks they haven't allowed one hundred yard rusher since Week three,
- 21:39Speaker 1: against the Vikings. Even though they're twenty six in the
- 21:41Speaker 1: NFL and the rush yards one hundred twenty five a game,
- 21:44Speaker 1: they're playing a lot better. So lock up James Conner
- 21:47Speaker 1: and everything will be good. Lock him up. That guy
- 21:49Speaker 1: is he's pretty special, man. I saw him take a
- 21:52Speaker 1: screen to the house about fifty yards a couple of
- 21:54Speaker 1: weeks ago. Last week. He can run it between the
- 21:56Speaker 1: tackles as his show. Now, Chase Esmond looks like he's
- 22:00Speaker 1: gonna be banged up for the next couple of weeks.
- 22:02Speaker 1: JA James Connor. Okay, Another matchup Kirk, Hopkins, Green More
- 22:07Speaker 1: versus the Seahawks secondary. This receiving corps is special. You
- 22:11Speaker 1: mentioned DeAndre Hopkins, aj Green. Kirk is their leading receiver.
- 22:16Speaker 1: He is their leading receiver. Thankfully for the Seahawks, the
- 22:19Speaker 1: secondary has been playing well. Last week they held Davante
- 22:22Speaker 1: Adams to just seventy yards and seven receptions, so we'll
- 22:25Speaker 1: see if they can do this again. Now. When it
- 22:27Speaker 1: comes to stats, Kirk has forty seven receptions, six hundred
- 22:29Speaker 1: three yards and four touchdowns. Hopkins thirty five receptions, four
- 22:33Speaker 1: eighty six and seven touchdowns. Green thirty receptions, four sixty
- 22:36Speaker 1: three touchdowns in more thirty six thirty six two yards
- 22:39Speaker 1: in one touchdown. Hopkins missed last week's game with a
- 22:42Speaker 1: hampshiing injury. Green return last week but was a non factor,
- 22:45Speaker 1: just one receptions for five on four targets. Kirk is
- 22:49Speaker 1: the fastest human being hop Skin in a while. I mean,
- 22:53Speaker 1: he ran a deep cross against the forty nine ers,
- 22:57Speaker 1: got to the safety jab steptom of Cold mccore was.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I believe it was Cold mccore through a nice football
- 23:02Speaker 1: over his shoulder. I mean, this guy is quietly the
- 23:07Speaker 1: best number two, number three receiver in the league. But
- 23:10Speaker 1: he's putting up number one type numbers. He's reliable, he's healthy.
- 23:15Speaker 1: They gotta lock this dude up. Yeah, you mentioned the
- 23:18Speaker 1: speed like that. I think that was I think I
- 23:19Speaker 1: seen his maturation process for Kirk because normally when when
- 23:23Speaker 1: he first came to the league, just like, Okay, he's
- 23:24Speaker 1: a burner. He's a guy who running that nine route,
- 23:26Speaker 1: run past you. But now he's doing it all. So
- 23:28Speaker 1: the Seahawks have you know, they're gonna have to do
- 23:30Speaker 1: a lot in that back end. Quandre Digson went holding
- 23:32Speaker 1: it down Jamal Adams, but it just puts such so
- 23:35Speaker 1: much pressure on those safeties when you have a guy
- 23:37Speaker 1: that can get busy like that down the middle of
- 23:39Speaker 1: the field, and then you have two, you know, future
- 23:42Speaker 1: Hall of Fame type guys on the outside, so things
- 23:44Speaker 1: things are gonna be tough for that secondary. On offense
- 23:47Speaker 1: for the Seahawks, DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, I'm throwing Gerald
- 23:50Speaker 1: every in here verst at Cardinal Secondary. So after a
- 23:54Speaker 1: week where they were targeted nineteen times, had eighteen receptions
- 23:57Speaker 1: for one hundred and eighty five yards and two touchdowns,
- 24:00Speaker 1: Caffine Lockett were non factors against the Packers. They had
- 24:03Speaker 1: just five receptions for forty nine yards on eighteen targets
- 24:06Speaker 1: and honestly, bump everything. I've pretty much every game has
- 24:09Speaker 1: been consistent. This offense goes as they go. When they're
- 24:13Speaker 1: involved in the game play and they're making plays. The
- 24:15Speaker 1: Seahawks have won football games. When they're not, it's been
- 24:17Speaker 1: tough sledding on offense. Metcalf leads a team receiving forty
- 24:22Speaker 1: two receptions six hundred and six yards, eight touchdowns, lock
- 24:24Speaker 1: it right behind them forty three receptions six hundred and
- 24:27Speaker 1: two yards and three touchdowns, and they're gonna need to
- 24:29Speaker 1: come with it, man, because the secondary is no joke.
- 24:31Speaker 1: They got those two dudes from you Dub Budda Baker,
- 24:34Speaker 1: Bayard Murphy Junior who are born out this season Bump,
- 24:37Speaker 1: So that's gonna be a fun matchup to watch. B
- 24:41Speaker 1: K in locking. They have to get involved early and often,
- 24:45Speaker 1: and you mentioned the secondary they're gonna be going up against.
- 24:47Speaker 1: This is time to make plays. Buddha Baker Man might
- 24:50Speaker 1: be most humble, so he reminds me of like if
- 24:55Speaker 1: Tyler Lockett played defense, he'd be Buddha Baker. Like their
- 24:58Speaker 1: approaches that I'm gonna play how, I'm gonna go hard,
- 25:00Speaker 1: I'm gonna respect the game. I'm humbled to see my
- 25:03Speaker 1: all around great guys. You got the Udub connection in
- 25:05Speaker 1: the backfield. So I know all you Huskies out there,
- 25:09Speaker 1: you're gonna be watching this game with Murphy and Baker.
- 25:11Speaker 1: But you know who you rock with. It's the Seattle Seahawks.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Remember that, all right? So now how are they gonna
- 25:18Speaker 1: get this done? Here's your paths of victory? After forty
- 25:23Speaker 1: five waits for the staff, Michael Dickson puts it down.
- 25:26Speaker 1: That kick is away. If that kick is gon bits gun,
- 25:31Speaker 1: it's a pass to victory. On Hawk Talk, getting that
- 25:35Speaker 1: offense going, we just mentioned it. DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett
- 25:39Speaker 1: need to have their handprints all over this game plan.
- 25:42Speaker 1: And last week, you know, I was more concerned saying, man,
- 25:45Speaker 1: I really hope the Seahawks don't fall behind early because
- 25:47Speaker 1: that's been the recipe in Green Bay for a lot
- 25:50Speaker 1: of games. But this defense has showed up and they
- 25:52Speaker 1: balled out. And if you would have told me that
- 25:55Speaker 1: the game would be three nothing heading in the fourth quarter,
- 25:57Speaker 1: I said, you're crazy, crazy for both sides. So you
- 25:59Speaker 1: gotta gotta get something going early. You gotta find a
- 26:01Speaker 1: way to get something going early. Hopefully another week of recovery,
- 26:05Speaker 1: Russell Wilson and his finger will be closer to one
- 26:07Speaker 1: hundred percent, shaking off some of that rust and we
- 26:09Speaker 1: can see the Russell Wilson were accustomed to seeing every week.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Offensive line they need to be better, they need to
- 26:14Speaker 1: protect better. Russell needs to get the ball quickly. They
- 26:16Speaker 1: all work is one and this offense had to get
- 26:18Speaker 1: going early. How did they get going on early? I
- 26:21Speaker 1: think you have to run the rock all right. Ten
- 26:23Speaker 1: or eleven carries just will not cut it. I don't
- 26:26Speaker 1: care who's in the back that it could be Colins,
- 26:27Speaker 1: it could be Dj Penny, doesn't matter. Get the run
- 26:30Speaker 1: game going and find a way to put together some
- 26:32Speaker 1: long drives against the Packers, Fox only had two drives
- 26:35Speaker 1: with more than seven plays. The other a drives or
- 26:37Speaker 1: seven or less plays. Sustain some drives and defensively, keep
- 26:41Speaker 1: doing what you're doing. The secondary is playing their best
- 26:44Speaker 1: football this season. That needs to continue for when Sunday.
- 26:49Speaker 1: With all the weapons that we mentioned there is on
- 26:51Speaker 1: the Cardinal's half. Yeah, man, these boys can play. They
- 26:55Speaker 1: need The Seahawks need to find way to get pressure
- 26:57Speaker 1: on Colin Murray or quote McCoy, whoever's back there throwing ball.
- 27:00Speaker 1: I think that might be the only piece missing right
- 27:02Speaker 1: now is consistent passed us because we're finally seeing the
- 27:04Speaker 1: secondary take that next step. Jordan Brooks is playing some
- 27:08Speaker 1: pretty damn good football. We'd like him to diagnose a
- 27:11Speaker 1: couple more screens. I think Pete Carroll said that, but
- 27:13Speaker 1: overall you're starting to see him take that next step.
- 27:15Speaker 1: We know what Bobby can do. I think the last
- 27:17Speaker 1: step is finding a consistent pass for us. So Daryl Taylor,
- 27:20Speaker 1: Carlos dunlap I mentioned earlier the guys inside Poota forward,
- 27:23Speaker 1: Brian Money, Benson Mayo. When those guys are out there,
- 27:26Speaker 1: we need to see something, especially if quote McCoy's in
- 27:29Speaker 1: there man, Especially that each game the rest of the
- 27:32Speaker 1: way for the Seahawks, quite frankly, is the playoff game.
- 27:35Speaker 1: And I think if this one of these analogies in
- 27:37Speaker 1: any sport, whether it's basketball and you're down thirty five
- 27:41Speaker 1: or it's baseball and you're down eight, you can't hit
- 27:44Speaker 1: an eight run home run. You just can't do it.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Seahous can't go out there and somehow win put seven
- 27:49Speaker 1: wins in the wind calm on Sunday. They can't do it.
- 27:51Speaker 1: When we get a time, Just as Pete Carroll preaches,
- 27:53Speaker 1: it's the biggest it's a championship week, championship effort starts
- 27:56Speaker 1: this week. See us got to take it one at
- 27:57Speaker 1: a time to try to climb back. In his playoff picture,
- 28:00Speaker 1: the marathon, it's not a sprint, and we're in the
- 28:02Speaker 1: second half of this marathon. Started off slow, you get behind,
- 28:06Speaker 1: you have some making up to do. But I think
- 28:07Speaker 1: these talks can do it. If this defense can teams
- 28:09Speaker 1: to play as well, and this offense finds their group.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Get going, Russell, you get healthy, run, get going, DK
- 28:16Speaker 1: and Locket make big plays. Where can the folks listen
- 28:20Speaker 1: to all this goodness The Hawks put out now everywhere
- 28:23Speaker 1: Bump Seahawks dot Com, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, and Stitcher.

- 28:52Speaker 1: I'm feeling good about this. Twelves back at Looming Field.
- 28:55Speaker 1: We need you loud, we need you hungry. The Seahawks
- 28:57Speaker 1: can do this week. Let's go one an all right
- 28:59Speaker 1: Sega half of the season. We are in a Russell
- 29:01Speaker 1: Wilson as healthy, Escrids is healthy, DK is gonna bounce back,
- 29:04Speaker 1: Locke is gonna do his thing. Positive vibes we are
- 29:07Speaker 1: sending to the Seahawks. I was a Hawk Talk preview
- 29:10Speaker 1: Week eleven edition. Hawks are taking on the Cardinals, looking
- 29:13Speaker 1: to bounce back on Michael Bump as he's Nasa Choby.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Talk to y'all soon,
