- 0:00Speaker 1: Boulet cap Show, special guests in here, Buffalo's Finest, Griselda's
- 0:05Speaker 1: own the First Lady. Yes, Yes, Harmoni Caesar, how you doing. Welcome,
- 0:09Speaker 1: It's good to see you. Good to be here. Of course,
- 0:12Speaker 1: your new album is officially out, The Liz Too. Yes,
- 0:15Speaker 1: highly anticipated. Yes. How does it feel now that it's
- 0:19Speaker 1: out in the world and you're getting reception? Like, are
- 0:21Speaker 1: you are you happy with everybody's you know, take on it? Yeah,
- 0:26Speaker 1: I still feel like, you know, I've been in a
- 0:28Speaker 1: lot of love when it I still feel like it's
- 0:29Speaker 1: being digested because that's something that you got to listen
- 0:31Speaker 1: to a few times to really catch everything right, like
- 0:35Speaker 1: just the bars, metaphors, double entandras, but also like the
- 0:38Speaker 1: flow of it, Like it's really like in a sequence
- 0:42Speaker 1: of like events that were really happening, right, So you're like,
- 0:46Speaker 1: I feel like you are kind of an anomaly in
- 0:51Speaker 1: a crew like Griselda. Yeah, right, Like we think of Done,
- 0:55Speaker 1: we think of Conway A Benny, it's high level coke rap.
- 0:59Speaker 1: It's you know, yeah, it's we know what it is, right,
- 1:03Speaker 1: And then there's Armani Caesar, who's like, you know, one
- 1:06Speaker 1: of those pretty girls in hip hop and obviously you
- 1:09Speaker 1: could wrap your ass off, but you're also very much
- 1:12Speaker 1: like a different You're bringing something different to the crew.
- 1:16Speaker 1: When did you initially link up with Gun? And like,
- 1:19Speaker 1: how did you guys eventually get on each other's radar
- 1:21Speaker 1: to where you ended up working with Griselda officially? So
- 1:24Speaker 1: I met Gun back and when I was still living
- 1:26Speaker 1: in Buffalo, I was like a teenager and we met
- 1:30Speaker 1: through DJSHA. That's I met all the guys through DJSHA.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Was in a group all together called buff City. And
- 1:37Speaker 1: then once I left for school, and then everybody kind
- 1:40Speaker 1: of just banded, you know, did they own it? Was me? Conway?
- 1:46Speaker 1: Benny Hyde was in it? Rick was it? Yes? I
- 1:53Speaker 1: just realized that, and like it was like, uh, hooge crews.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Who else is in Above City? That's just prior to
- 2:02Speaker 1: you going to college, So this is like, how are
- 2:05Speaker 1: you like eighteen seventeen? Like seventeen, just turned seventeen? Wow? Okay, yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 1: So then I just kind of, you know, they met me.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I went in there for some studio time and they
- 2:17Speaker 1: had another rap chick in there at the time, and
- 2:19Speaker 1: Benny was like helping her write a verse or whatever
- 2:21Speaker 1: because she was gonna be like the first Lady above
- 2:23Speaker 1: City at the time, gotcha. So where they was like
- 2:26Speaker 1: they were going over the verse and it kept playing instrumental.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I wrote my own verse and then somebody heard me
- 2:32Speaker 1: rapping it and then Benny you know, came over heard
- 2:34Speaker 1: me tap shade like yo, like she fired s a
- 2:37Speaker 1: third long story short, I ended up in a group
- 2:39Speaker 1: just like that. Wow, So that was kind of like
- 2:43Speaker 1: the first time you had like really linked up with
- 2:46Speaker 1: the guys over there in general. Yeah. Yeah, So you
- 2:49Speaker 1: go to school, you said, North Carolina Central HBCU. Yep,
- 2:54Speaker 1: what were you going to school for? So I was,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I was a few things, but I ended up a
- 3:01Speaker 1: marketing major business administration with a concentration of marketing. But
- 3:05Speaker 1: like all of my prerecs were like, you know, pretty
- 3:09Speaker 1: much the same and like staples that you needed for
- 3:11Speaker 1: every class except for the hip hop and Context class.
- 3:14Speaker 1: There was a hip hop and context class teaching. Yeah,
- 3:18Speaker 1: I just saw him post that, so you never know
- 3:20Speaker 1: who's in the classroom. Yes, So it was crazy, like
- 3:23Speaker 1: because I even gave him the mixtape that I had
- 3:25Speaker 1: back in the day. It was called Back and body Work,
- 3:29Speaker 1: and you know he was he was showing love like
- 3:32Speaker 1: you know, he was still he was just real cool.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It was a bunch of people in the class, but essentially,
- 3:36Speaker 1: like it really kind of got me into a journey
- 3:39Speaker 1: of like going and doing my research on the rock
- 3:42Speaker 1: sand Chante's and see lights like the people that weren't
- 3:45Speaker 1: like mainstream, like the Kim's and Foxies. Right, So you
- 3:47Speaker 1: think like taking that class kind of helped you like
- 3:52Speaker 1: sharpen your hip hop head metal if you will for sure.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I mean we would just be walking into class and
- 3:57Speaker 1: like he would be playing a sample and then he
- 4:00Speaker 1: would played the song that sampled it, like you know
- 4:02Speaker 1: that kind of thing, Like, so that got me in
- 4:04Speaker 1: my sample bag. That got me like digging for beats
- 4:07Speaker 1: and like even inspiring me to just go back and
- 4:10Speaker 1: listen to old school music. So were you like motivated
- 4:13Speaker 1: to go check out Little brother at All his group? Yeah?
- 4:16Speaker 1: I love Little Brothers. Little Brother's one of my favorite
- 4:18Speaker 1: rap groups ever. Yeah, they was fired fontat They still
- 4:21Speaker 1: like they put a good ALBUMNT a couple years ago,
- 4:23Speaker 1: a few years ago before the pandemic, shoutout Fontine, Big Poop. Yes,
- 4:26Speaker 1: I gotta check that out. Yeah, So you go to school,
- 4:30Speaker 1: you get the mark, you got a degree. No you
- 4:33Speaker 1: didn't finished. No, I didn't finish. Once I was told, like,
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know, I think this was like my junior year
- 4:38Speaker 1: and I was trying to figure out like what I
- 4:40Speaker 1: wanted to do, and I was just really going to
- 4:42Speaker 1: school just to appease my mother. And my advisor was like,
- 4:46Speaker 1: look like, I see how you go like in our
- 4:49Speaker 1: marketing class, and you could literally sell ice to Eskimos,
- 4:52Speaker 1: so like if you can market yourself, you could really
- 4:54Speaker 1: much pretty much do anything. And I guess he was
- 4:56Speaker 1: trying to motivate me, but it motivated me to like leave,
- 4:58Speaker 1: like say fuck this on the right move? Yeah, and
- 5:02Speaker 1: you got Now I see why you have your so success.
- 5:05Speaker 1: You got a damn Armani's closet. Yeah. Is this an
- 5:09Speaker 1: online store or an actual place that people can visit?
- 5:11Speaker 1: It's an online store. I'm working on making it like
- 5:15Speaker 1: a brick and mortar, but I wanted to be like
- 5:17Speaker 1: an experience that's super tight. Yeah. Okay, so you decided
- 5:20Speaker 1: to leave school. Yeah, at that point in time, you
- 5:23Speaker 1: stay in North Carolina, you go back home. What are
- 5:25Speaker 1: you doing? I just was going back and forth. I
- 5:27Speaker 1: was still kind of like working, and then I got
- 5:30Speaker 1: a job at a club, and it was just like
- 5:32Speaker 1: I was running it up, making money from there. And
- 5:35Speaker 1: what were you doing at the club. I was dancing.
- 5:37Speaker 1: You're stripping, Okay, so shouts all the ladies out there
- 5:41Speaker 1: geting that money. Yes, get that brig, get that bag.
- 5:43Speaker 1: My wife used to be a dancer, So no judgment here.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I mean, listen, listen. I know more strippers making more
- 5:49Speaker 1: money than drug dealers to this day, and a lot
- 5:53Speaker 1: risky less risky. Yeah, even though, Yo, there's something about
- 5:58Speaker 1: strip club politics that because I used to do a
- 6:01Speaker 1: lot at strip clubs, so I've been in the locker rooms.
- 6:04Speaker 1: I've seen bitches beat the ship out of each other.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, over like whose bucket got fuller from someone
- 6:09Speaker 1: making it rain? Like the strip cup politics are crazy.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I ended up getting fired. That's how I ended up
- 6:15Speaker 1: stopping because it was like so it was just I
- 6:18Speaker 1: hated my job, but it was like the money was
- 6:20Speaker 1: so good that I was like I was trying to
- 6:22Speaker 1: figure out how I could walk away from it for good,
- 6:25Speaker 1: because you know, you gonna stop a little bit here,
- 6:27Speaker 1: you need some money and go work for a weekend, yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 1: or just you know, you get a nigga. You you know,
- 6:33Speaker 1: you just be like, Okay, well I'm gonna start a
- 6:34Speaker 1: business that don't work out. You already know you're going
- 6:36Speaker 1: back to strip club? Wow? Why did you get fired?
- 6:40Speaker 1: Girl on her? Yeah, I mean at least she didn't
- 6:43Speaker 1: assault her. I mean you kind of did. Shouldn't beat
- 6:46Speaker 1: her up? No, I couldn't. It was like security. Yeah,
- 6:51Speaker 1: like that was the only way, like I could kind
- 6:52Speaker 1: of get to it. Was it over like some money? Yeah,
- 6:54Speaker 1: it was, of course, because that's the only reason why
- 6:56Speaker 1: I'm here, Like, give a fuck about you bitches, you
- 7:00Speaker 1: know why I'm here? Yeah? What city was this? This
- 7:03Speaker 1: isn't Charlotte, Charlotte? Yeah a CIAA weekends are probably this
- 7:06Speaker 1: as fuck. Oh man, it was going crazy. I mean
- 7:09Speaker 1: we was on like they would make like the news
- 7:11Speaker 1: like for people spending like hundreds of thousand dollars a
- 7:15Speaker 1: night on the weekend. It's crazy. What was the most
- 7:17Speaker 1: amount of money in your short lived dancing career that
- 7:20Speaker 1: you made in one night? Mmmm? Like a little over
- 7:26Speaker 1: twenty k Jesus Christ. Yeah, I would never quit. But
- 7:32Speaker 1: every night it don't be like that, tell you something.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I have my ass out until they would tell me
- 7:37Speaker 1: I had to leave, but you know, now you explains
- 7:41Speaker 1: why I didn't want to leave. It was like, you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: get it. It's also like mentally taxing. I don't think
- 7:45Speaker 1: people understand, like your job is to like make like
- 7:50Speaker 1: like it's I can only my wife's explain it to me,
- 7:54Speaker 1: Like it is mentally taxing to like hit reset and
- 7:57Speaker 1: then try like you have to kind of be everybody's
- 8:03Speaker 1: fantasy slash counselor slash person they trust, like even if
- 8:08Speaker 1: it's for twenty minutes, like and you do that, however
- 8:11Speaker 1: long right, and it's like, fuck, it was a long night,
- 8:15Speaker 1: you know, Like yeah, and them black clubs is a
- 8:17Speaker 1: little bit different because, like you know, you gotta deal
- 8:20Speaker 1: with all the street ship that be coming into the club.
- 8:23Speaker 1: So the club I used to dj in Phoenix called
- 8:25Speaker 1: Jaguars Legendary Strip Club. It's very much the epicenter of
- 8:32Speaker 1: all of the street shit in Phoenix. Everybody comes there
- 8:35Speaker 1: at two am after the regular club gets out, and
- 8:38Speaker 1: everybody who's got beef with everybody is all in the
- 8:40Speaker 1: same fucking place every single fucking night. It's it's like
- 8:44Speaker 1: you could sometimes you can feel the fucking tension in there. Yeah,
- 8:47Speaker 1: it's like, oh shit, and imagine it's like you ain't
- 8:50Speaker 1: got no choice. You gotta get this mother fucking bag,
- 8:52Speaker 1: like you praying that niggas don't be shooting or you
- 8:56Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, Like, yeah, for sure, it's crazy,
- 8:58Speaker 1: it's wild. Yeah, fights happen, like you said, people get right. Yeah,
- 9:01Speaker 1: I don't care about the fights. Maybe be the shooting
- 9:03Speaker 1: part for me. Yeah, yeah, I can imagine. Well, okay,
- 9:06Speaker 1: so you're dancing. At what point in time you get
- 9:09Speaker 1: so you got fired? Did you eventually say okay, I'm done? Yeah,
- 9:13Speaker 1: because it was like I wasn't about to work at
- 9:15Speaker 1: no rinky thing clubs. Like at the time, I was
- 9:16Speaker 1: like building my following the main spot, not even so
- 9:20Speaker 1: much at the main spot because a lot of people
- 9:21Speaker 1: didn't even know I danced, you know, because this time, Yeah,
- 9:25Speaker 1: I started rapping, like I kept rapping as soon as
- 9:27Speaker 1: I got down to North Carolina. I mean, you gave
- 9:31Speaker 1: Ninth Wonder your mixtape Bath and body Work, Yes, amazing.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I was popping big ships. Is this? Can we look
- 9:41Speaker 1: at album artwork anywhere on the internet? Yes? Unfortunately. Yeah,
- 9:45Speaker 1: if it's online, it's never going away. I know. That's
- 9:51Speaker 1: a great name though I know no for really, I
- 9:54Speaker 1: might have to name like a song now or something.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I got to google it real quick. Hold on, let's see.
- 9:58Speaker 1: I think it's streamable right now? Is it? Also? It's
- 10:01Speaker 1: on Bennie on their Conway on there. But like, I think,
- 10:05Speaker 1: what year did this drop? Two thousand and thirteen twelve
- 10:09Speaker 1: something like that? My goodness, Yeah, all right, look at that. Okay,
- 10:13Speaker 1: I see you, I see you in the tub. And
- 10:16Speaker 1: the thing about that is it was like a shout
- 10:18Speaker 1: out to Shay. He found his house in the hood.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I forgot it was one of his friend's house, but
- 10:22Speaker 1: it had like a jacuzie in it. It was like
- 10:24Speaker 1: one of them little like ratchet houses that looked like
- 10:27Speaker 1: a trap house. But then when you walk in it's
- 10:29Speaker 1: like renovated. So yeah, he let us borrow that to
- 10:33Speaker 1: do a little photo shoot. That's great. Well, damn, that's crazy.
- 10:37Speaker 1: That was nine years ago, so you're like a veteran. Definitely,
- 10:40Speaker 1: you were not new to this very much true to
- 10:44Speaker 1: this factual. Hey, what up, y'all? Boulet keV got to
- 10:46Speaker 1: stop the interview to tell you about our newest sponsor
- 10:49Speaker 1: man shout out to the homies at har Dean, Las Vegas.
- 10:52Speaker 1: That's right then, number one dispensary in the whole state
- 10:56Speaker 1: of Nevada, let alone in the whole fucking country. So
- 11:00Speaker 1: many choices of premium cannabis. Ladies and gentlemen. It is like,
- 11:05Speaker 1: how can I put this? You walk into it. You
- 11:07Speaker 1: go to Hardan in Las Vegas when you're on vacation,
- 11:11Speaker 1: when you're out there tricking off whatever you're doing, stop
- 11:14Speaker 1: off at Hardan, tell them I sent you. Be like yo,
- 11:17Speaker 1: bootleg keV sent me. They're gonna take care of you
- 11:20Speaker 1: at Hardean. When I say selection, I mean selection of
- 11:23Speaker 1: the best premium cannabis in the world, the best dispensary.
- 11:28Speaker 1: There's a reason why Harden is world famous. Follow them
- 11:32Speaker 1: right now. Hardan Underscore Las Vegas. Go to their website
- 11:36Speaker 1: Hardinlasvegas dot com. That's j R d N Underscore Las Vegas.
- 11:42Speaker 1: When you're in Vegas, you have to pull up to Hardan,
- 11:46Speaker 1: tell them I sent you, and get high off your
- 11:48Speaker 1: fucking face. I don't even know what that means. How
- 11:51Speaker 1: do you get high off of your face? Whatever? Melt
- 11:53Speaker 1: your fucking face off with some of that good hard Dean.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Y'all go follow one more time. That's Hardyan underscore Las Vegas.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Let's get back to the interview. Okay, so you were
- 12:00Speaker 1: obviously rapping for a while. When did you feel like
- 12:05Speaker 1: you started to catch some traction where you could be like, oh,
- 12:08Speaker 1: this might work out for me. It was just always
- 12:11Speaker 1: little things that happened. Back in like twenty fifteen. I
- 12:16Speaker 1: got my first placement on this album on Rico Love's album,
- 12:20Speaker 1: actually on the Yes on a song called bad Attitude
- 12:25Speaker 1: featuring me, him and Ray Kwan. Wow. Yeah, so that
- 12:28Speaker 1: was like my first album placement. Then from there I
- 12:31Speaker 1: ended up like signing and getting a deal, but it
- 12:34Speaker 1: was like it was through somebody I don't want to
- 12:38Speaker 1: mention fuck them, but yeah, but essentially they left. They
- 12:43Speaker 1: were the VP at a big record label and ended
- 12:46Speaker 1: up leaving, And then my stuff was kind of like
- 12:48Speaker 1: in limbo for a year. So I was just sitting
- 12:50Speaker 1: like not doing shit. That happens a lot. It's like
- 12:52Speaker 1: the people that sign you, they get a better job
- 12:54Speaker 1: or they get fired, and then there's all these new
- 12:56Speaker 1: people that come in and they're like, well, we didn't
- 12:58Speaker 1: sign her. They don't they don't believe in you. The
- 12:59Speaker 1: same the people who signed you believe in right, right,
- 13:02Speaker 1: and if you signed through somebody else, like it don't
- 13:05Speaker 1: really make a difference because it ain't shipped that they
- 13:06Speaker 1: can do. They don't really have the ties. So so
- 13:09Speaker 1: you kind of went through like uh the full music
- 13:13Speaker 1: U industry experience. Yeah, like he was trying to like
- 13:16Speaker 1: stop bags. He was trying to stop people from sucking
- 13:18Speaker 1: with me. Like it was crazy. Really is this like
- 13:22Speaker 1: a famous person. I mean he's well known. He's not
- 13:26Speaker 1: like industry guy. He industry, but like behind the scenes industry.
- 13:29Speaker 1: But what was the label? It was a big one,
- 13:36Speaker 1: it was. It was one of the top five ones. Yeah,
- 13:46Speaker 1: but yeah, fuck him because that did No it was
- 13:51Speaker 1: It wasn't Jay, it wasn't but like you know, no,
- 14:00Speaker 1: so it was Columbia, you know what. Anyway, But like
- 14:04Speaker 1: I actually seen him when I was doing the red
- 14:06Speaker 1: carpet at the BT Awards because I had to deciphering right,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and you know, it just was a good feeling. It
- 14:11Speaker 1: was just like, damn, you tried to stop and look
- 14:13Speaker 1: at me. Now, It's pretty crazy that someone would go
- 14:15Speaker 1: out of their way to try to stop money from
- 14:18Speaker 1: like a somebody who's just trying to make ends meet.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I mean it happens more often than not, especially the
- 14:23Speaker 1: females for sure. Yeah, I've gotten deal stopped because I
- 14:29Speaker 1: didn't want to fuck with executives. I've gotten deal stop
- 14:31Speaker 1: because obviously, you know, a person wasn't doing anything and
- 14:34Speaker 1: they just wanted me to just sit and wait like it.
- 14:38Speaker 1: It's crazy. Yeah, there's a double standard with like women
- 14:41Speaker 1: in hip hop, where it's like, no matter what you do,
- 14:44Speaker 1: like people are always going to assume the not necessarily
- 14:47Speaker 1: the worst. But shit, I told you earlier. I was like,
- 14:50Speaker 1: I forgot. He told me that you and Kodak had
- 14:52Speaker 1: a song coming out because you were supposed to come
- 14:53Speaker 1: up here like a month ago or something, and he
- 14:55Speaker 1: was like, well, we're waiting for this Kodak great, get cleared.
- 14:57Speaker 1: But then I just saw the video that you posted
- 14:58Speaker 1: a Kodak braiding your hair. I was like, damn Kodaks
- 15:02Speaker 1: Dayton RMANI Caesar Kodak is just a certified lover boy.
- 15:06Speaker 1: So I think he just give off that like flirty energy. Yeah,
- 15:08Speaker 1: shot out to him. He's I mean he bought Shannon
- 15:12Speaker 1: Brown'sa's wife Monica person the other night. Yeah, but he's
- 15:16Speaker 1: sweet like that though, like He's the type that you
- 15:19Speaker 1: don't even have to be with him, like he just hm,
- 15:24Speaker 1: he did the record. I was happy enough with that. No,
- 15:28Speaker 1: it wasn't free, but you know, he just looked out
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying for for a person that's
- 15:34Speaker 1: still underground and stuff like that. Like, and I slid
- 15:36Speaker 1: in his DM. I was like, yo, like cause I
- 15:38Speaker 1: was listening to you know, the album, and I'm like, damn,
- 15:41Speaker 1: like we need a couple more features just to wrap
- 15:43Speaker 1: this up. And I was just like, well fuck it.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I'm just so yeah, let's just see what happens. He
- 15:48Speaker 1: hit me right back, and I sent the song. I'm like,
- 15:51Speaker 1: let me know if you're fucking with it. He sent
- 15:52Speaker 1: me right back. He was just like, I'm about to
- 15:54Speaker 1: stretch to be I'm gonna send it back to you.
- 15:56Speaker 1: He sent it in like three hours. Oh ship yep.
- 15:58Speaker 1: And then the next maybe like a week or two later,
- 16:01Speaker 1: pulled up and did the video. Yo. That doesn't happen usually, never,
- 16:04Speaker 1: like especially in an artists that big, Like usually you're
- 16:07Speaker 1: like waiting like two months or something. You're like, Yoda,
- 16:10Speaker 1: forget niggas that ain't even as big as that. Conway,
- 16:14Speaker 1: don't do Conway. Conway did take way longer to do it.
- 16:17Speaker 1: I know he did. Conway takes way longer than everybody.
- 16:20Speaker 1: But I love I love Conway. Conway. I love him
- 16:23Speaker 1: as well. But like, even with all the backlash that
- 16:26Speaker 1: Kodak was getting at the time, you know, I was
- 16:28Speaker 1: kind of like Leary, like, you know, not so much
- 16:30Speaker 1: Leary because I know that. I'm mean, I know how
- 16:32Speaker 1: I carry myself. So oh, was this during the uh
- 16:36Speaker 1: like when there was they were trying to there was
- 16:38Speaker 1: somebody were they trying to like paint him out to
- 16:41Speaker 1: be the Yeah. I don't know who it was, but
- 16:45Speaker 1: it was, Yeah, I think it was something like that.
- 16:47Speaker 1: But I was gonna say, like, is it, like, are
- 16:50Speaker 1: you starting to you gotta I feel like as a
- 16:53Speaker 1: as a woman in hip hop, you have to have
- 16:54Speaker 1: thick skin and you gotta kind of like understand like
- 16:59Speaker 1: whether it's right or wrong, people are gonna look at
- 17:01Speaker 1: you a certain way up until they hear your music.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I mean, I think me coming down to North Carolina
- 17:08Speaker 1: and not knowing nobody and having to establish myself with
- 17:11Speaker 1: the DJs, with even my studio sessions, like locking that
- 17:14Speaker 1: shit down for ten hours at a time, you're making Yeah,
- 17:18Speaker 1: but it's like how you carry yourself, like, you know,
- 17:21Speaker 1: I don't move like how everybody moves, So people know
- 17:24Speaker 1: not to play with me. Even if it's like at
- 17:26Speaker 1: first you think, oh shit, like she fired, I'm gonna
- 17:27Speaker 1: shoot my shot, It's like once you see that I'm
- 17:29Speaker 1: really about business, then you ain't gonna play with me.
- 17:32Speaker 1: Like that was a when did you How long did
- 17:34Speaker 1: you guys shoot the video? We shot it Native America
- 17:37Speaker 1: weekend in Philly. When was that? That was? Like? That
- 17:40Speaker 1: was like in September September. First, I want to say, yeah, yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 1: I remember that weekend. Yeah, that's dope. So it was
- 17:45Speaker 1: all in Philly. Yep, that's what's up for you? Do
- 17:49Speaker 1: you do you like? Were you always kind of like
- 17:53Speaker 1: cause you are very good at skating over beats that
- 17:57Speaker 1: you would not expect women who look like you to
- 18:01Speaker 1: wrap over. Were you always in that bag with like
- 18:04Speaker 1: the Darringer type sound or was that something that like
- 18:07Speaker 1: once you officially came full circle signed with Griselda, that
- 18:12Speaker 1: you embraced a little bit more. Cause you're living in
- 18:15Speaker 1: North Carolina, you're in the strip club. Music's a certain way,
- 18:19Speaker 1: So I think I was doing that beforehand. Like again,
- 18:24Speaker 1: going back to my first project that I ever did
- 18:28Speaker 1: with buff City, it was like we was wrapping over Heartbeat,
- 18:31Speaker 1: So you know, of course when I moved down there,
- 18:33Speaker 1: it was like then I learned how to like ride
- 18:35Speaker 1: that wave. So now it's like I have an equal
- 18:37Speaker 1: balance of both. And when I moved over to you know,
- 18:41Speaker 1: when I actually signed to Griselda, it was like, you know,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I was excited to do it just because there was
- 18:46Speaker 1: already a lane for me open there versus me trying
- 18:49Speaker 1: to like start off and do that by myself in
- 18:51Speaker 1: North Carolina. So I think walk into a pretty rapid
- 18:55Speaker 1: fan base. Yeah, that was crazy. The Griselda fans are.
- 18:59Speaker 1: They're very dedicated, but I love them now. At first,
- 19:02Speaker 1: they was a little mean to me when I first signed,
- 19:04Speaker 1: mean because I looked like this and they thought that
- 19:07Speaker 1: I couldn't wrap. Yeah, they probably wanted you to be like,
- 19:09Speaker 1: you know, two hundred and eighty pounds lesbian. Yes, I
- 19:15Speaker 1: wanted you to look like Queen La and set it
- 19:17Speaker 1: off right or be like super you know, yeah, yeah
- 19:22Speaker 1: for sure, Yo, what what is going on with Grizzelda?
- 19:24Speaker 1: They're over here signing pretty girl, right They like, is
- 19:27Speaker 1: she gonna be the backup dancer? Oh, they only signed
- 19:30Speaker 1: her because she's pretty. They're gonna be writing her rhymes.
- 19:32Speaker 1: So like the first LISZ was me just proving all
- 19:34Speaker 1: that shit wrong. So that's why I came out swinging,
- 19:36Speaker 1: like I mean yeah, and you did a good job
- 19:38Speaker 1: with that. Thank you? Do you can you share some
- 19:41Speaker 1: of the insight because I feel like Gun is somebody
- 19:44Speaker 1: who is influenced, so influencing a lot of culture in
- 19:48Speaker 1: hip hop, whether or not people want to't acknowledge it.
- 19:52Speaker 1: He's very smart. He's a master curator. Of course he's
- 19:56Speaker 1: an incredible rapper as well, but just in terms of
- 19:59Speaker 1: just like his mark being prow as, his business prowers.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Like what are some of the things that you were
- 20:04Speaker 1: able to pick up from him since recent like since
- 20:08Speaker 1: again coming to Griselda officially, just watching watching the moves
- 20:14Speaker 1: that he makes, Watching how he knows how to like
- 20:17Speaker 1: cultivate you know, artwork and you know bridge it with
- 20:21Speaker 1: the music. Knowing like his influence like over the Griselda
- 20:25Speaker 1: fans and how like they're very big on just the suspense,
- 20:30Speaker 1: the the merch, you know, like those are all things
- 20:34Speaker 1: that like a lot of new age people aren't really doing,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and me, as a woman and as an entrepreneur, like
- 20:40Speaker 1: that's always motivation because I want to take what he
- 20:43Speaker 1: doing and take it even further, you know what I'm saying,
- 20:45Speaker 1: and even do it my way. Because I'm a woman,
- 20:48Speaker 1: I won't see no woman moving like that, So I
- 20:50Speaker 1: want to be like the female. Yeah, there really is
- 20:52Speaker 1: no woman that's like taking advantage. I mean, obviously if
- 20:55Speaker 1: Nicky drops the sweater, people by it like she's got
- 20:58Speaker 1: fans that are, you know, interact. But like I feel
- 21:02Speaker 1: like there I haven't seen like a female MC really
- 21:07Speaker 1: like dive into the merch shit like some male people have,
- 21:12Speaker 1: like Tech nine or Griselda or whatever. So it's wide
- 21:14Speaker 1: open for you for sure. Hey guys, we gotta stop
- 21:17Speaker 1: the interview to tell you about our good folks over
- 21:19Speaker 1: at blue chew dot com. That's right, Listen, you gotta

- 21:50Speaker 1: high school. Ladies and gentlemen. It's gonna be fucking like

- 21:58Speaker 1: oh do youk? And he does. The motherfucker this is
- 22:00Speaker 1: gonna be your dick. It's gonna be like Ryu's fucking uppercut,
- 22:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. God bless whoever's on the

- 22:21Speaker 1: have to worry about going and sitting in a waiting
- 22:23Speaker 1: room and be like, hey doc, my dick. I could
- 22:25Speaker 1: use a little pep in my step, And then it's awkward.
- 22:28Speaker 1: You gotta look at this old fuck talking about your dick.
- 22:30Speaker 1: He might ask you to pull it out. Who fucking
- 22:32Speaker 1: knows what's going on at blue Choo. None of that's
- 22:34Speaker 1: happening blue choo dot com. And they also got the new,
- 22:37Speaker 1: brand new mint flavored chewable which has Bardina fill in it,
- 22:43Speaker 1: which is the same active ingredient as Levitra and Stackson,
- 22:47Speaker 1: which is a little more potent, a little more potent
- 22:50Speaker 1: if you need the extra on top of the extra,
- 22:52Speaker 1: you know what I mean, get the mint Chewable. Yeah,
- 22:55Speaker 1: your wife will thank you, your girlfriend will thank you,
- 22:57Speaker 1: your boyfriend will thank you, whatever the fuck you're fucking oh,
- 23:01Speaker 1: thank you as long as it's legal. All right, let's
- 23:03Speaker 1: get back to the interview. Go to butt you dot com.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Promo coo bootleg. That's it. Yeah, how much like obviously
- 23:10Speaker 1: each album is a painting. I want to I'm not
- 23:14Speaker 1: gonna fuck. His name is Isaac Palaho, right, mm hmm.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Was that because we know that that's something that Gun
- 23:21Speaker 1: loves his art? I mean I've been to the store,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I've seen videos of his cribt Phoenix. Guy's got paintings
- 23:27Speaker 1: fucking everywhere. Was that like a collaborative idea or did
- 23:30Speaker 1: you just kind of let gun handle curate in the art.
- 23:33Speaker 1: I let Gun curate the art. Obviously it was kind
- 23:36Speaker 1: of like easier moving onto the list too, because it
- 23:39Speaker 1: was kind of like we're going to continue with the
- 23:41Speaker 1: same makes sense, But you know, the art thing is
- 23:45Speaker 1: still something that I'm like learning about, like what makes
- 23:50Speaker 1: things like what makes people want to buy that? Because
- 23:53Speaker 1: everybody can do art, but it's like, are you going
- 23:56Speaker 1: to get people to actually want it? Is it going
- 23:59Speaker 1: to be like ope is going to be understood by people?
- 24:02Speaker 1: Came along way from Bath and Body Work, Yes, for sure,
- 24:05Speaker 1: in the in the tub. And I didn't want to
- 24:08Speaker 1: be on my first album, you know, because I feel
- 24:12Speaker 1: like people was gonna look at it and be like,
- 24:14Speaker 1: m this ain't gonna sound like what I think is
- 24:16Speaker 1: gonna sound like or what it does does sound like? Right? Uh?
- 24:19Speaker 1: For you? Who would you consider some of your biggest
- 24:21Speaker 1: influences just as an MC, jay Z, nas Wayne, fab Nikki,
- 24:32Speaker 1: Foxy Remy, Missy Elliott. Yes, I love her. That's a
- 24:40Speaker 1: fab to not enough people say fab yeah, No for real,
- 24:45Speaker 1: like out of world styles, p Jada Kiss Like I
- 24:54Speaker 1: just I love people that's barred up, you know. I
- 24:57Speaker 1: like people like a jay Z or even Dre that
- 25:00Speaker 1: can like transcend sounds, but it still sounds like them,
- 25:04Speaker 1: that's true. It's a hard thing to do. Yeah, yeah, Drake.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I think Drake's the best of that. Mm hmmm. So
- 25:08Speaker 1: I'm like, Drake could do a bad bunny song and
- 25:11Speaker 1: it's like, oh, this just sounds like something Drake would
- 25:13Speaker 1: have did because he was like because it's natural to him,
- 25:15Speaker 1: Like why not. You know, there's not a lot of
- 25:17Speaker 1: guys who could really pull off as much shit as
- 25:21Speaker 1: Drake and it not be like like you would not
- 25:25Speaker 1: like like if jay Z jumped on a bad bunny song,
- 25:27Speaker 1: we probably all would look at him and be what's
- 25:29Speaker 1: happening here? What's going on here? Why is Jaz speaking Spanish? Right?
- 25:33Speaker 1: But does it? And it's like it's Drake. Yeah, I
- 25:36Speaker 1: just assumed Drake knows every language. Like if he hopped
- 25:39Speaker 1: on like somebody from like Hungary's fucking song like Tomorrow,
- 25:43Speaker 1: I'll be like, yeah, I'd be like, yeah, Drake knows Hungary,
- 25:45Speaker 1: and of course he does. He's Drake, He's worldly. Yes.
- 25:48Speaker 1: And I gotta say the guys too, like Benny and
- 25:51Speaker 1: Conway obviously, like I've been studying them since I was,
- 25:55Speaker 1: you know, young, Like even now, I listen to they
- 25:57Speaker 1: music before I start writing sometimes, I like, it does
- 26:01Speaker 1: help when you have two of the best rappers alive
- 26:03Speaker 1: in your crew. And like, in my opinion, I always
- 26:07Speaker 1: say Conway is like Conway is. I just think Conway
- 26:13Speaker 1: is just his like ability to convey pain on songs
- 26:17Speaker 1: is like second to none, and I think that's such
- 26:19Speaker 1: a special attribute and like it makes people like I've
- 26:23Speaker 1: seen motherfuckers crying in the crowd when he's performing the
- 26:25Speaker 1: cow and shit, you know what I'm saying. So that's
- 26:27Speaker 1: good to like pick up on and just be around.
- 26:29Speaker 1: So all right, So you have a song with Kodak Black,
- 26:33Speaker 1: which means that there's a lot of eyes on what
- 26:36Speaker 1: you're doing right now, and you got the video yes,
- 26:40Speaker 1: which is a great feat for an independent artist like yourself.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Are you feeling any pressure for like maybe the next
- 26:49Speaker 1: go round to do a little bit like more commercial shit,
- 26:53Speaker 1: even though I feel like you did do a little
- 26:54Speaker 1: bit more of that on this project, but like in
- 26:56Speaker 1: terms of like, you know, do you see yourself doing
- 26:59Speaker 1: something like that? Yeah, Like it just really depends on
- 27:03Speaker 1: how I'm feeling, you know. Again, Like I was doing
- 27:06Speaker 1: the commercial shit more so before I got signed anyway,
- 27:10Speaker 1: So it was always a part of the plan. Like
- 27:11Speaker 1: the thing was with west Side. He was always like,
- 27:14Speaker 1: you know, you like the star player because if I
- 27:18Speaker 1: go and do a song with you know, Taylor Swift,
- 27:22Speaker 1: they gonna look at me like I'm crazy. But you know,
- 27:24Speaker 1: you do it and it's going to make sense because
- 27:27Speaker 1: you know how to do both, you know what I'm saying,
- 27:29Speaker 1: So you're kind of able to like even bridge the
- 27:32Speaker 1: gap between Griselda fans and mainstream by doing the things
- 27:36Speaker 1: that you're doing and being a female artist that can
- 27:40Speaker 1: actually rap that looks good, that you know, can sing,
- 27:43Speaker 1: that you know, writes all her own music. So it
- 27:47Speaker 1: was pretty much just like easy. So I do plan
- 27:49Speaker 1: on like getting into the more mainstream stuff. But it's
- 27:52Speaker 1: also like I think being in the strip club as
- 27:54Speaker 1: long as you have like you also like whether you
- 27:56Speaker 1: want to, like you actually kind of like low key
- 27:58Speaker 1: becoming a and R in there, you know what I yeah, yeah,
- 28:01Speaker 1: and like you kind of start to understand music and
- 28:03Speaker 1: like how like what makes people react to certain ship
- 28:07Speaker 1: in the club or what music is you know who Look, look,
- 28:11Speaker 1: I always talk about this with people. I think Future
- 28:14Speaker 1: is the greatest club artists of all time. I think
- 28:17Speaker 1: it's Future number one and then everybody. I mean, you
- 28:21Speaker 1: can figure out who the rest is. But I think
- 28:23Speaker 1: Future is the greatest club artist ever. It depends on
- 28:28Speaker 1: the type of clubs I go to, at least it depends.
- 28:31Speaker 1: It's like you gotta, I don't know, so many things
- 28:33Speaker 1: go into that. It's like the era because you know,
- 28:37Speaker 1: Rick Ross and Jeezy had to gain in the choke
- 28:39Speaker 1: hold for as far as the strip clubs that I
- 28:41Speaker 1: used to work at, because it was all dope boys
- 28:44Speaker 1: that's all they wanted to hear or boosy. Yeah, yeah
- 28:47Speaker 1: you were, you were in North Carolina. Yeah, but like
- 28:50Speaker 1: actual like mainstream stuff. You're absolutely like Future for sure.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Drake for sure, because you got Drake gonna get the
- 28:59Speaker 1: ladies like Future Drake. Little Baby, I don't think he's
- 29:05Speaker 1: quite there yet. Club boys, real, he's up there, he's
- 29:07Speaker 1: up there, but he's he's up there. But little John,
- 29:11Speaker 1: little John for sure. That's why I said eras because
- 29:14Speaker 1: Little John had everything in the cold. The greatest club
- 29:17Speaker 1: song ever, though an old one. It's old back that
- 29:21Speaker 1: ass up by Juveniles. The number one song in club history. Yeah,
- 29:24Speaker 1: for sure. No matter what club you're in, it could
- 29:26Speaker 1: be the most ratchet place in the world. It could
- 29:28Speaker 1: be fucking the most high end club in the visa.
- 29:31Speaker 1: If they play back that ass up, it's okay, oh
- 29:33Speaker 1: for sure, because it's just you're gonna immediately run to
- 29:36Speaker 1: the dance floor. Just you gotta like turn around, get
- 29:39Speaker 1: that one last little song in before you leave, Like
- 29:42Speaker 1: that's the one that's the one that's gonna turn him around.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Anything Like you obviously you have your boutique, your online boutique,
- 29:49Speaker 1: anything else you're working on besides the online clothes, Just
- 29:53Speaker 1: expanding the brand, like leveling up like everything that I'm
- 29:56Speaker 1: doing as far as like my music, my shows, my
- 30:00Speaker 1: you know, my brand, my boutique. Just trying to just
- 30:04Speaker 1: capitalize on the platform that I already have, so taking deals,
- 30:08Speaker 1: whether it'll be a movie, you know, merch you know,
- 30:13Speaker 1: collapse and stuff like that. Like I want to get
- 30:15Speaker 1: into more beauty stuff. Like I'm just taking my brain
- 30:17Speaker 1: and expanding it to the next level. Hey, we gotta

- 31:23Speaker 1: get back to the interview. Any of the OG female
- 31:27Speaker 1: rappers reach out and tap in with you yet, so
- 31:30Speaker 1: like a few years ago, Foxy had reached out, she
- 31:35Speaker 1: I feel like, I don't that sounds very rare. You've
- 31:38Speaker 1: never heard her do that. Yeah, it was a guy
- 31:41Speaker 1: that I knew from New York, and he knew somebody
- 31:46Speaker 1: that she knew, and I think she had seen like
- 31:47Speaker 1: a picture of me or something like that long story
- 31:49Speaker 1: short that got us on the phone, and she just
- 31:52Speaker 1: showed so much love. She was just super like, yo,
- 31:55Speaker 1: you fire like even your look or remind me of
- 31:57Speaker 1: like something I would do, Like she was just real.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Do you feel like I feel like there's like this
- 32:03Speaker 1: weird civil war between like Cardi B and Nicki Minaj
- 32:07Speaker 1: and whoever they're friends with all at the same time.
- 32:10Speaker 1: It's very it's very frustrating. It's just someone who likes
- 32:14Speaker 1: both of them or it's just like guys, yeah, I
- 32:17Speaker 1: get it, but it's just like, man, it just feels
- 32:19Speaker 1: like it just feels like it's like the most like
- 32:22Speaker 1: weirdly catty situation on Twitter every other week where I'm
- 32:25Speaker 1: just like, why is who's Cardy beefing with? Now? Who's
- 32:28Speaker 1: Nicki beefing with? Now? Why can't everyone just get along?
- 32:31Speaker 1: And I know that it like, I mean, it's a
- 32:34Speaker 1: female it's it's not a female rapper thing men men beef,
- 32:37Speaker 1: But I'm saying I'm speaking at it from like somebody
- 32:39Speaker 1: who loves female mcs when you see something like that,
- 32:42Speaker 1: like not necessarily specific to either of them, because I
- 32:45Speaker 1: ain't trying to get you caught up with no barbs
- 32:47Speaker 1: in it, but in terms of, like, you know, just
- 32:51Speaker 1: kind of the beef between a lot of female rappers,
- 32:55Speaker 1: Are you like trying to avoid that at all costs,
- 32:58Speaker 1: or you know, just trying to avoid any kind of negativity.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, it's the blessing to be
- 33:03Speaker 1: able to get paid for doing what I'm doing, and
- 33:06Speaker 1: like you just gotta pay attention to the things that matter,
- 33:09Speaker 1: like that beef shit, who don't like you? Who's fucking who? Who? Like? That?
- 33:13Speaker 1: Shit don't matter to me. I ain't never been in
- 33:16Speaker 1: no drama like that in my personal life, so I'm
- 33:18Speaker 1: definitely not gonna do it at work. Yeah, Yo, I
- 33:22Speaker 1: saw when the shooting happened in Buffalo. I saw you
- 33:26Speaker 1: had said that when you were growing up, you worked
- 33:28Speaker 1: at not that same location, but you worked at a
- 33:32Speaker 1: different one of those. Yeah. That was obviously an extremely
- 33:37Speaker 1: That was a pretty crazy day. Were you when that happened? No,
- 33:42Speaker 1: but my mom, well, first my grandmother had called me.
- 33:44Speaker 1: I was getting on a plane. I actually was on
- 33:46Speaker 1: my way to a show because this was during like
- 33:48Speaker 1: the Griselda tour. And my grandmother called me and was like, hey,
- 33:53Speaker 1: can you turn a new because she don't she like
- 33:55Speaker 1: stupor she don't do no internet, she don't do nothing.
- 33:58Speaker 1: She was like, Yo, I heard that it was a
- 34:01Speaker 1: shooting or something at a grocery store. Can you look
- 34:04Speaker 1: it up? So then I looked it up and I
- 34:06Speaker 1: seen that it was at Tops and this Tops is
- 34:08Speaker 1: around the corner from where like my mom lives at Wow.
- 34:12Speaker 1: So like and then I called my mom and just
- 34:13Speaker 1: check on her because she goes there all the time.
- 34:16Speaker 1: And my mom was like hysterical and crying and she
- 34:19Speaker 1: was like I was on my way there, and this,
- 34:21Speaker 1: that and the third. It was just it was a lot. Yeah,
- 34:23Speaker 1: Now that shit was terrible. Your mom was on the
- 34:25Speaker 1: way there, Jesus. Yeah. And it's not like again, you
- 34:30Speaker 1: can get anywhere in Buffalo ten to fifteen minutes. So
- 34:32Speaker 1: just imagine, like you live around a corner, you right
- 34:35Speaker 1: there and then you see in all these cop cars
- 34:37Speaker 1: and it was crazy. It was bodies out there. It
- 34:39Speaker 1: was just wild. Yeah, Buffalo is a place that, like
- 34:42Speaker 1: I said, I went there for a couple of days
- 34:44Speaker 1: and I really liked it. Like I really thought Buffalo
- 34:46Speaker 1: was like a vibe and I didn't know what to
- 34:49Speaker 1: expect going there, but it was very Uh it wasn't
- 34:52Speaker 1: as cool as I thought it was going to be,
- 34:54Speaker 1: as we discussed. The food was solid, but it just
- 34:58Speaker 1: felt like its own. Pl into Detroit before and I've
- 35:01Speaker 1: heard people compare Detroit and Buffalo, but I just felt
- 35:03Speaker 1: like its own thing. Like what part of Buffalo are
- 35:06Speaker 1: you from? I'm from the east side of Buffalo, Like
- 35:09Speaker 1: I grew up in a fruit belt and you know,
- 35:11Speaker 1: I stayed like like in the east side, like they
- 35:16Speaker 1: call it a booktown, cold Springs, I stayed in the area. Nice.
- 35:20Speaker 1: What's first of all next for you music wise? You're
- 35:24Speaker 1: working this album. I'm sure there's more music videos coming.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Are you already recording new shit? Oh yeah, it's already
- 35:30Speaker 1: in a clip. I'm dropping Top of the year already.
- 35:33Speaker 1: I ain't gonna let y'all wait two years for no nothing,
- 35:36Speaker 1: no more. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It was a long way. Yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 1: why the way? Well, it was a lot that happened, obviously,
- 35:43Speaker 1: Like it was mid pandemic, so it was a lot
- 35:45Speaker 1: of things that needed to be worked out with that.
- 35:47Speaker 1: But I just think now, like I'm just more hands
- 35:50Speaker 1: on with my shit. I'm more in charge of of
- 35:51Speaker 1: my shit, Like even when it came down from everything
- 35:54Speaker 1: from like my rollout, you know, I had my team
- 35:58Speaker 1: or whatever, so shout out to them, but you know,
- 36:01Speaker 1: my mixes, to the content that I was dropping, to
- 36:04Speaker 1: my feature like to everything. Like, you know, I'm really
- 36:07Speaker 1: more so hands on with mine, and I think that
- 36:10Speaker 1: that's important for a lot of women to do. Just
- 36:12Speaker 1: be in charge of your own shit for the first
- 36:14Speaker 1: album where you're not like as hands on. Well, the
- 36:16Speaker 1: first album was kind of the fuck fucking galaxies always
- 36:20Speaker 1: fucking see that's why you need an iPhone. I kind
- 36:23Speaker 1: of both Oh okay, so heavy, nah, but the first
- 36:27Speaker 1: one was really like cutting dry was super easy. I
- 36:30Speaker 1: didn't obviously have as much of a rollout as I
- 36:33Speaker 1: did with this one. But I recorded that Lives in
- 36:36Speaker 1: about seven days, not even seven days, three days. I
- 36:39Speaker 1: told Wes I was gonna give him seven days because
- 36:41Speaker 1: I was scared to come outside after I got COVID,
- 36:43Speaker 1: And then well, you recorded the first album in three days? Yeah, wow, yep,
- 36:49Speaker 1: we drove to what we call the five. It's in Atlanta,
- 36:52Speaker 1: and it's like an abasement in one of West houses
- 36:54Speaker 1: and it's like super grimy, like don't watch TV, Travis.
- 36:59Speaker 1: He did like most of the graffiti artwork in there,
- 37:03Speaker 1: got all the artwork up there. They got like a
- 37:05Speaker 1: green light that's like super muddy and it's just a vibe.
- 37:09Speaker 1: So I gave myself seven days to do it. I
- 37:12Speaker 1: left in three because I had my boutique that had
- 37:15Speaker 1: just started and I needed to get back to that.
- 37:19Speaker 1: And you know, long story short, you know, when it
- 37:21Speaker 1: was time to like package up everything, you know, West
- 37:23Speaker 1: kind of like handled everything with that. Even with some
- 37:25Speaker 1: of the beats I was doing. I didn't even know
- 37:27Speaker 1: my first single was a promo beat until after I
- 37:29Speaker 1: had recorded it, because it didn't have no scratches on it,
- 37:31Speaker 1: or you didn't know you were wrapping on a premiere
- 37:33Speaker 1: beat when you're no. He was because it didn't have
- 37:36Speaker 1: no scratch. You know, he's got the hooks, Yeah, he was,
- 37:39Speaker 1: just like after I recorded it, we listened back to it,
- 37:43Speaker 1: he was like, Oka, I'm gonna send this to Primo
- 37:44Speaker 1: so you can put the scratches on it. And I
- 37:45Speaker 1: turned around, I'm like, yeah, which Premo? Were we talking
- 37:49Speaker 1: about Yeah. I'm like, nah, let me do it over again.
- 37:52Speaker 1: He was like, nah, it sounds amazing. Like that was
- 37:55Speaker 1: one project where it was like I didn't do a
- 37:59Speaker 1: lot of singing on it anything like that. It was
- 38:01Speaker 1: just pretty much like bars and you know, as far
- 38:05Speaker 1: as like the concept and everything like that, like Wes
- 38:08Speaker 1: did it and it's this time around. It was like, okay, well,
- 38:10Speaker 1: I wanted to be more like female empowerment. I wanted
- 38:13Speaker 1: to be more like me, like telling my story for real.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I wanted to open up on different songs. That's why
- 38:18Speaker 1: you got songs like Lpuro with me and Conway going
- 38:22Speaker 1: back and forth on some like almost like a relationship
- 38:24Speaker 1: type of song. You know, I'm singing a lot more
- 38:27Speaker 1: on it. I mean, I got a song called First
- 38:29Speaker 1: Wives Club on it. It's literally saying like nigga, I'm
- 38:32Speaker 1: not your bitch. So but the guys love it. Wait
- 38:35Speaker 1: wait wait wait First wives Club? What is the theme
- 38:37Speaker 1: of the song. So it's like a women's empowerment song.
- 38:41Speaker 1: I called it First wives Club because I'm saying like
- 38:43Speaker 1: you don't own me. And I heard that song originally
- 38:47Speaker 1: on the First Wives Club movie and got yeah, and
- 38:51Speaker 1: I got into haun. Yeah, what was the other? I
- 38:55Speaker 1: don't remember. That's one of one of Yes, she's so bad.
- 39:02Speaker 1: But you ever been married or close to getting married? Yes,
- 39:06Speaker 1: so you've been married. You've been married in your day.
- 39:11Speaker 1: I've been close to being married. Not actually married though.
- 39:15Speaker 1: So you got you were engaged? Yeah, something like that.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I mean, did you have a ring? We was close again, man,
- 39:24Speaker 1: it was a very very close relationship. Did you have
- 39:27Speaker 1: a ring? Yes, I'm always gonna have a ring. Well, well,
- 39:32Speaker 1: so you were engaged. Yeah, So what happened? He cheated?
- 39:35Speaker 1: It just didn't work out, damn. Yeah, we just went
- 39:39Speaker 1: into two separate paths. Yeah. But God bless him. He's
- 39:43Speaker 1: doing really well. So well, that's good. That's positive. Usually
- 39:47Speaker 1: when that kind of thing happened, you're like, yo, fuck him.
- 39:49Speaker 1: He ain't shipped, by the way, track hates about that.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I mean, I get to get that out in my music.
- 39:54Speaker 1: But that's why I don't never feel no way like
- 39:56Speaker 1: I get over shit very quick. I don't stay mad
- 39:58Speaker 1: a long. That's straight to have. Yeah, because you can't.
- 40:01Speaker 1: You have a short memory. I got a I don't
- 40:03Speaker 1: got a shore memory with stuff that matters. But a
- 40:06Speaker 1: lot of shit is just like I'll be over because
- 40:09Speaker 1: I'll be having so much other shit going on in
- 40:11Speaker 1: my life, like that actually matters and requires my attention
- 40:15Speaker 1: and for me to show up and be happy and
- 40:16Speaker 1: shit that I can't afford to waste my time being
- 40:20Speaker 1: mad or bitter or anything like that Like that ain't
- 40:23Speaker 1: gonna get me no money, and it's only gonna make
- 40:26Speaker 1: even more bad shit come your way. What up, y'all,
- 40:28Speaker 1: We gotta stop the interview real quick. Tell you about
- 40:29Speaker 1: our good friends at my Bookie. That's right, man, My

- 40:44Speaker 1: crazy NFL season, NBA season just started. World Series is
- 40:48Speaker 1: going down, and you can get your bets in right now.

- 41:28Speaker 1: Bootleg and double your deposit. Let's get back to the interview.
- 41:31Speaker 1: You feel like now that you're you have like a
- 41:34Speaker 1: high profile as an artist, is it take a special
- 41:37Speaker 1: type of dude to like get down with Harmaney Caesar
- 41:40Speaker 1: because he has to kind of understand that you're a
- 41:43Speaker 1: boss bitch, that you got this thriving rap career, that
- 41:46Speaker 1: you're a public figure. Like there's so many things that like,
- 41:50Speaker 1: like I think when I think of like, uh, you know,
- 41:54Speaker 1: powerful women intimidate men. It just is what it is. Yeah,
- 41:59Speaker 1: I think, Yeah, it's difficult for a man to day
- 42:04Speaker 1: a woman because I think, at least in my case,
- 42:09Speaker 1: it's already like guy's gonna judge you off of how
- 42:12Speaker 1: you look anyway and expect you to be a certain way,
- 42:14Speaker 1: not realizing like you know, I actually am an avid reader.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I like deep conversations. I like you know what I'm saying,
- 42:21Speaker 1: they may look at me and judge me based off
- 42:23Speaker 1: of you know, Instagram or whatever the case may be.
- 42:26Speaker 1: Like a lot of guys don't really get to know
- 42:28Speaker 1: me for me. Yeah, so they think like, oh man,
- 42:31Speaker 1: I gotta have like my bag up, I gotta get
- 42:33Speaker 1: her to say, I gotta get her that. And it's like, well,
- 42:36Speaker 1: or we could just have a nice conversation that, yeah,
- 42:38Speaker 1: can we can? We can we carry an hour conversation
- 42:41Speaker 1: where I'm not bored and want to kill myself? Yeah,
- 42:43Speaker 1: I mean that's why. But I write songs about that
- 42:45Speaker 1: all the time, Like that's where the Liz Love's Luger
- 42:47Speaker 1: song came from. Like I just wanted to loyalty. I
- 42:49Speaker 1: want all of that stuff too, because obviously, like if
- 42:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it for myself, I want whoever is
- 42:55Speaker 1: around me to be able to love on me like
- 42:57Speaker 1: how I love on me. But I think, you know,
- 43:00Speaker 1: it's better stuff, like bigger stuff that matters. I think nowadays,
- 43:04Speaker 1: you know, relationships are so transactional, like and social media
- 43:09Speaker 1: only perpetuates that they don't know, So now you don't
- 43:11Speaker 1: really know how to deal with people on just a
- 43:14Speaker 1: regular human basis without it being a transit. Yeah. Yeah,
- 43:18Speaker 1: what's the uh, what's the ulterior motive? What can I
- 43:20Speaker 1: get out of this? Yeah? A lot of men are paying,
- 43:23Speaker 1: you know, to get with the girls of their dreams,
- 43:26Speaker 1: and a lot of women are getting paid for their pain.
- 43:28Speaker 1: What is you say? You're avid reader? What do you
- 43:30Speaker 1: like to read? What kind of books you reading? Books
- 43:33Speaker 1: that's just gonna make me boss up? Like the Game
- 43:37Speaker 1: of Life and how to Play It. That's a real
- 43:38Speaker 1: good one. The Alchemist Gucci Man Guid's Greatness was good.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I just read that. I just read A Perfect Day
- 43:46Speaker 1: to Boss Up by Rick Ross. Self help books. Self
- 43:50Speaker 1: help books, Yeah, for sure, I mean hood book. There's
- 43:55Speaker 1: a book called The Subtle Art to Not Giving a Fuck?
- 43:57Speaker 1: Have you heard of that book? I heard of it,
- 43:58Speaker 1: but I didn't read it. It's a pretty okay. I
- 44:01Speaker 1: think I already know how to not give a fuck.
- 44:03Speaker 1: I mean that's fair. Like I haven't been giving a
- 44:06Speaker 1: fuck since I was like twelve. Oh shit, So, like
- 44:09Speaker 1: you know, it was still a good book though. That's fine.
- 44:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna lookt I'm gonna read it. Yeah, what about
- 44:13Speaker 1: do you what do you binge watching when you're watching TV,
- 44:16Speaker 1: any shows you just fucking love that you just can't
- 44:18Speaker 1: get enough of. I'm a fucking geek kind of like
- 44:20Speaker 1: low key when it comes to shit like that, Like
- 44:22Speaker 1: what are you watching where you geek out over? I
- 44:26Speaker 1: watch like cinema, sins prims, hood media. It's like this
- 44:33Speaker 1: they do like reviews on like hood movies. I haven't
- 44:40Speaker 1: heard of this, Yeah, Like it's I like shit like that.
- 44:43Speaker 1: I like a lot of things that like are documentaries
- 44:46Speaker 1: or like things I'm gonna learn from things I didn't know,
- 44:50Speaker 1: especially like if it's my favorite movie, things that I
- 44:52Speaker 1: didn't even notice, or like any kind of like weird
- 44:56Speaker 1: quirky facts that you may never know. Like, I like
- 44:59Speaker 1: shit like that. What's your favorite movie? I got so
- 45:02Speaker 1: many favorite movies, give me three of them. I like
- 45:07Speaker 1: Friday After Next. That's a great one. Harlem Nights, great one,
- 45:13Speaker 1: and Ming Girls, Hey heat it is it's fire. Hey
- 45:21Speaker 1: Friday after Next though, that's that's uh. I mean, I'm
- 45:25Speaker 1: og Friday. I like all the Fridays, all three, all
- 45:29Speaker 1: the Fridays for sure. I think it's Friday, Friday after next,
- 45:32Speaker 1: the next Friday. See. I like Friday after Next because
- 45:35Speaker 1: it can be a Christmas movie. It is a Christmas movie,
- 45:38Speaker 1: and you know, just a regular you know, Williams coming
- 45:41Speaker 1: out parties. Oh my gosh, fire Money Mike. Yeah, shout
- 45:46Speaker 1: out to Money Mike. Well look, I appreciate you pulling
- 45:48Speaker 1: up the list. Two is out, Yes, go get that,
- 45:51Speaker 1: go run it up. More videos on the way, yes,
- 45:53Speaker 1: more video you got some some surprises also, uh new
- 45:58Speaker 1: music top of the year. Yes, for sure. You're not
- 46:00Speaker 1: gonna make everybody. I mean, listen if you record albums
- 46:02Speaker 1: in three days. I mean, but this is one I'm
- 46:05Speaker 1: taking my time with. I think I'm you know, I'm
- 46:07Speaker 1: more so intentional about it, like cause I'm I'm I
- 46:10Speaker 1: already showing people I know how to rap right now.
- 46:13Speaker 1: It's about making songs and good songs versus you know,
- 46:17Speaker 1: just giving people bars. I'm gonna get you bars in between. Anyway.
- 46:20Speaker 1: You're a superstar. Thank you. You gotta Yeah, so you've
- 46:23Speaker 1: proven the rapping part, thank you. Now you just gotta
- 46:25Speaker 1: put them hits out, okay, cause I'm trying to get
- 46:27Speaker 1: on some of these movie soundtracks. I need a movie contract.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I'm trying to get in you know, all of it,
- 46:32Speaker 1: all of that stuff there it is Harmoni sees appreciate
- 46:34Speaker 1: you coming through boom fire,
