- 0:08Speaker 1: And we're back to the Craigway Show. Have a message
- 0:12for Craig, share it by using the talkback feature on
- 0:15the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Last hour of the program, you heard logorn Head coach
- 0:23Stieve Sarkisian's media availability, the Zoom availability. It's the final
- 0:29media opportunity and presentation that he does for the local
- 0:35and national media prior to the game, other than, of course,
- 0:38my pregame conversation with him, which is two hours prior
- 0:40to kick and we do that and that's part of
- 0:42our pregame show. And of course that leads me to
- 0:46remind you that our coverage of the one hundred and
- 0:49twentieth edition of the Red River Rivalry begins really tomorrow afternoon.
- 0:59Cameron Parker and my cards in your story. We will
- 1:02be at Bar W that is on Maple Avenue in Dallas.
- 1:08It's across from the old Stoneley Hotel. In fact, it's
- 1:11in the building that used to be the Stoneley p Bar.
- 1:13Really cool sports bar now and we'll bring you our
- 1:18red River preview show and we hope you'll come out
- 1:22and see us tomorrow afternoon. We'll be there from two
- 1:24to six with that four hour Texas Oklahoma preview show.
- 1:29Then on Saturday morning, Fairgrounds of the State Fair of Texas,
- 1:34Cam and Harge and Mark Henry, we'll all be out
- 1:38there for the long Orange Game Day program. And you're
- 1:44not far from the front gate and over there by
- 1:46the Old Mill In Restaurant and all that other kind
- 1:48of stuff.
- 1:48Speaker 1: That's right, the Old Mill English restaurant where Craig Way
- 1:52himself went on many dates and.
- 1:54Speaker 2: A couple a couple maybe three it was, and it
- 1:59was usually during the State Fair type of thing.
- 2:01Speaker 1: It was one of hey, that's a great date the
- 2:04state Fairs. That's like a top top five in terms
- 2:07of like dates to go on. Yeah, yeah, it's a
- 2:09good call there. Crap, how is your ahead of your time?
- 2:12Speaker 3: I think?
- 2:13Speaker 2: I think Lynda and I when we were dating the
- 2:15first time in the early eighties went there.
- 2:19Speaker 3: It went went to the fair as a day. I
- 2:21know this.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It was the week after the fair ended. I worked
- 2:25the Rolling Stones of the Cotton Bowl Wow with zz
- 2:28Top opening for them and the fabulous Thunderbirds opening for
- 2:32zz Top. It was a triple bill in the pouring
- 2:35rain in the Cotton Bowl that day, but the rolling
- 2:39Stones were outstanding. But anyway, those guys will be out
- 2:43there with the show, and they're going to be all
- 2:47around the State Fair.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Foods.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Somebody yesterday on Twitter, I'm going to give him credit
- 2:53here momentarily sent me a list of where to find
- 2:58these because remember yesterday on the pro I said that
- 3:02the problem with some of these foods is that I
- 3:06can't find where they are because they only sell them
- 3:10in certain things. Thanks to Carrie p was the map. Yeah,
- 3:17there's like.
- 3:17Speaker 1: A guide oh the new foods one. Yeah, I've seen that.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah, And but even that, even that, I'm still kind
- 3:24of like, for example.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Well, wait, second, Craig, I found something, did you? I did?
- 3:28Their food faves, their maps in the location.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Good send that to me as well, because what Carrie
- 3:33sent me is really helpful if you know where to
- 3:35go and there is a there's a little bit of
- 3:37a map there. But like, for example, dumplings, I mentioned
- 3:40an interest in the dumplings. It says located at the
- 3:43Dumpling Experience. Okay, how do I find the dumpling Experience?
- 3:48You know that kind of thing. But the map will
- 3:51certainly help on that.
- 3:53Speaker 1: This shows well, now it says twenty twenty one, so
- 3:57I don't know Okay, I mean how often do they
- 3:59chan means the stuff here because it shows the funnel cakes,
- 4:03turkey legs, fried oreos. What else we got? Yeah, a
- 4:09lot of a lot of turkey legs and funnel cakes
- 4:11and fried orioles. That seemed to be the main three.
- 4:13So hopefully the locations are just about the same, because
- 4:15looking at it, Craig where the old mill is Old
- 4:19mill inn is Yeah, there's a big text circle.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yep, because Big Kex is right near there.
- 4:24Speaker 1: And has a Fletcher's Corny dog stand Yep, Yep, there's
- 4:27one there. There's also it's just listed as the g Area,
- 4:31which I'm guessing is Grand Area huh, funnel cake factory
- 4:36and the Magnolia Smokehouse which has turkey legs so boom
- 4:40because the funnel cake I've gotten every single year. Obviously
- 4:43corn dogs so and I haven't had a turkey leg yet,
- 4:45So this might be the year.
- 4:46Speaker 3: If if it might be the year. Let me ask
- 4:49you something.
- 4:51Speaker 2: If you happen to have a moment where Mark Henry,
- 4:57the World's strongest man, has a turn turkey legs.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Hand I want a picture of that?
- 5:02Speaker 2: Oh we will, because that's like watching when I was
- 5:05playing golf at Myrtle Beach last night. The alligator that
- 5:08came up on the shore and just crunched this giant,
- 5:12big turtle and it sounded like cracking open a walnut.
- 5:16So I want to picture of that. If if if
- 5:20Mark Henry has a turkey leg in his head. All right,
- 5:23so we bring up all this food stuff and he said, ah,
- 5:25how consequential is that you want to listen to this?
- 5:28Speaker 3: Then?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Because last night when we recorded Loghorn Weekly with a
- 5:33head coach Steve Sarkisian, I asked him about state Fair foods.
- 5:37Speaker 3: We do this every year for Texas ou Week.
- 5:41Speaker 2: We offer sark the opportunity to express a preference on
- 5:45State Fair deep fried foods. Now, somebody asked you on
- 5:48the SEC teleconference if you've done much of it, and
- 5:50you said no. But I remember two years ago after
- 5:53you won forty nine nothing, didn't somebody bring you like
- 5:55deep fried oreos or something had a leg?
- 5:58Speaker 3: Oh it was a turkey leg, had a turkey. But
- 6:00you told me in favor of the desserts.
- 6:02Speaker 4: Right, I am a big dessert guy.
- 6:03Speaker 3: All right, see what you think about these? All right?
- 6:05So I got a I got a couple of these.
- 6:07Speaker 2: First of all, the one that won for the most
- 6:12creative best taste.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Sweet.
- 6:13Speaker 4: By the way, this the corny dog, sounds amazing.
- 6:17Speaker 3: I did.
- 6:17Speaker 4: I just didn't have access. Yeah, hopefully we get a
- 6:21win and I can get a corny dog.
- 6:22Speaker 2: You've had all those great student managers there. Somebody can
- 6:25surely run out and retrieve one for you.
- 6:27Speaker 3: You would do man, all right? Okay?
- 6:30Speaker 2: How would this strike you? Cotton candy bacon on a stick. Okay,
- 6:35it won, it won best taste.
- 6:37Speaker 4: It sounds amazing.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, okay.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Sugar rush pickles, now these are pickles that have cereal
- 6:44on them.
- 6:45Speaker 3: No, that's not me, okay, all right. Uh.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Then there's uh hot chicken pancake poppers.
- 6:53Speaker 4: I do that.
- 6:53Speaker 3: That sounds pretty good, okay, all right. Then another thing, the.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Aubery pop tart ben Ye, yeah, for sure, you'd be
- 7:03okay with that for sure?
- 7:04Speaker 3: All right?
- 7:05Speaker 2: So I just want to And then there is a
- 7:07tropical two step punch, which has all kinds of fruit
- 7:12flavored drinks in it, passion, fruit, mango.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Uh, it's a it's a different kind of punch.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Sounds like it might be dangerous.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But the thing that I remember most of all is
- 7:24you saying two years ago, I will make a pledge
- 7:28if we win the game, I will partake of something.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And you did. You were a man of your word.
- 7:34Speaker 2: You won forty nine and nothing and you and you
- 7:37followed up by eating a turkey leg. So do we
- 7:40have the pledge from you again this year that if
- 7:42the team follows through you get a win.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Ye, you're gonna do something?
- 7:45Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure.
- 7:46Speaker 3: I want.
- 7:46Speaker 4: I'm gonna try this corny dog. Oh yeah, we gotta win.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I want.
- 7:49Speaker 4: I want to try that.
- 7:50Speaker 5: I mean, you can't get asked on a on an
- 7:52SEC media call about a corny dog.
- 7:54Speaker 4: It's gotta be good. I try that. And this this
- 7:56cotton candy.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Thing, Yeah, cotton candy bacon on the stick.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Yeah, we gotta try that.
- 8:00Speaker 2: And the gold that that will be in social media.
- 8:04To have the to have the photo of you with
- 8:06the cotton candy bacon.
- 8:07Speaker 4: On a stick, I have to be on social media.
- 8:10Speaker 2: No, no, I'm just saying I could just see part
- 8:12of the Texas football staff doing that and putting it
- 8:15out there. Of course, this this is a special time
- 8:18for your guys, and I know you want them to
- 8:20enjoy the moment as well as the intensity and and everything.
- 8:24Speaker 3: That this game brings.
- 8:25Speaker 4: It really it really is.
- 8:27Speaker 5: I mean, these these moments are that's why you come
- 8:30to Texas or you go to you it's to play
- 8:32and playing this type of a game, it's an unbelievable environment.
- 8:35I've been really proud of our guys and the way
- 8:37they've prepared this week. You know, we believe in the
- 8:40sun Zoo adage of every battle is won before it's fought,
- 8:43and I think our guys are prepared really well for
- 8:45the ball game.
- 8:46Speaker 2: So as important as this Texas OU game is, it's
- 8:50a longer nation and to the players and obviously the
- 8:53coaches and the head coach, it should not be lost
- 8:57on folks that you know, sark And joys a good
- 9:02cotton candy bacon on a stick. If it is a victory,
- 9:08is like I said, he's gonna give one of the
- 9:09managers to run out and grab him something like that,
- 9:12to bring him something like that. All right, now to
- 9:14the more serious side of it element of it. Word
- 9:18coming out today that their leading receiver, Dion Burks is
- 9:22not expected to play. They have just been just waylaid
- 9:26by injuries at the receiving corps. But we've kind of
- 9:29been hearing that during the week. When we had Toby Rowland,
- 9:32the Sooners play by play voice on yesterday, he said
- 9:35he doubted that Dion Burks would be able to go,
- 9:39and apparently he's not going to be able to go.
- 9:41He was listed as questionable yesterday in the SEC player
- 9:46Availability Report. Those SEC mandated player player availability reports, the
- 9:55injury list. If you will are do the first one
- 10:00five o'clock on Wednesday, and that's where it was submitted.
- 10:05That said the sark yesterday, I said, did you did
- 10:08you listen Quinn viewers?
- 10:11Speaker 1: Is probable?
- 10:13Speaker 5: He is.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I don't know he's gonna play because he's fully expecting
- 10:16him to play. Everybody is as well.
- 10:19Speaker 1: But I think I think him and Derek Williams are
- 10:21listed as probable.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the injury yeah. And I asked him, say think
- 10:24about there. He's like, yeah, you know, uh so.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Uh.
- 10:28Speaker 2: But even though Burkes was listed as questionable, uh he,
- 10:33according to Pete Thammil uh that today said that he's
- 10:38probably not going to be available. He's the Burks is
- 10:40the transfer from Purdue as team high twenty six catches,
- 10:44two hundred one yards and four games, scored all three
- 10:47of his touchdowns in Oklahoma's Easy Whenever temple in the
- 10:52season opener. So what that what that would mean is
- 10:55in all probability, five of their time wide receivers are
- 11:01going to be out of the lineup. Jaleil Farouk might
- 11:04be gone for almost the entire season. Are close to
- 11:07Nick Anderson who caught the game winning touchdown pass for
- 11:11the Sooners last year. Andrew Anthony and Jaden Gibson already
- 11:15have been ruled out for the game.
- 11:16Speaker 3: J J.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Hester really kind of has emerged as the top receiver
- 11:21for Michael Hawkins. He had a big touchdown catch against Auburn.
- 11:28Jacquey's Petaway replaced Burks at the slot, and the former
- 11:33Longhorn Brennan Thompson, along with Zion Reagan's also had starts
- 11:37in that game. So Sark will continue to tell you
- 11:40there are you know, other guys who are available and
- 11:44that makes a difference. So there's depth there as well,
- 11:48but the depth certainly being tested for Oklahoma. All Right,
- 11:51we have more coming up as we continue here on
- 11:53this Thursday afternoon, and that includes the Texas injury reports
- 11:57portrayio AAM thirteen under the zone of the iHeart.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Ready, what
