- 0:08Speaker 1: And I invited you here. I thought I made myself
- 0:14Speaker 1: perfectly clear. But you're a guest to my home. You
- 0:21Speaker 1: gotta come to me empty And I said, no guests,
- 0:27Speaker 1: you're a presences presents enough. I already had too much stuff,
- 0:35Speaker 1: So how.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Did you dare to surbey me?
- 0:49Speaker 3: Welcome to I said, no gifts, I'm pretchard wine girl. Well,
- 0:56Speaker 3: what what's happening? There?
- 0:57Speaker 2: Is?
- 0:58Speaker 3: At least the last I knew. There was a silver
- 1:03Speaker 3: Kia going about ninety five miles an hour down the
- 1:06Speaker 3: one thirty four who was not happy when I changed
- 1:11Speaker 3: into his lane doing the speed limit. And I just
- 1:15Speaker 3: want to apologize to him, Sir, I hope you find peace.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I hope you get wherever you need to be on time.
- 1:26Speaker 3: That was a little I'm rattled. I'm a little rattled,
- 1:29Speaker 3: but I also have some good news. Last night, it
- 1:34Speaker 3: was time for bed, I went to close the shade
- 1:37Speaker 3: on the back door, and as I did, I looked
- 1:40Speaker 3: down and underneath the gate, a little skunk came squeezing
- 1:45Speaker 3: under and headed into the backyard. And I I have
- 1:50Speaker 3: not felt a rush like this since I went indoor skydiving.
- 1:53Speaker 3: It was such a thrill to see that little skunk
- 1:56Speaker 3: on its way somewhere I don't know where, doing some
- 2:00Speaker 3: business in my backyard. It's welcome anytime. It was so
- 2:03Speaker 3: truly eight inches away from me, and there was no
- 2:05Speaker 3: fear of being sprayed, So it was really it was delightful.
- 2:09Speaker 3: It was a fun surprise before bed. Ah, is there
- 2:13Speaker 3: anything else we should discuss? These are probably the two
- 2:15Speaker 3: most important pressing things in the world, so then we
- 2:19Speaker 3: can move into the podcast. I just adore today's guest.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I think she's so funny. It's mo welch Mo.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Welcome to is said, no gift, Thank you so much.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Oh. Have you had any sort of skunk interaction?
- 2:32Speaker 2: Uh? Yeah, we used to have something that kind of
- 2:35Speaker 2: lived under the house and they go in and out.
- 2:37Speaker 2: There's a lot of skunks where I live.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Plastic amount of skunks in Los Angeles.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Did you ever get to see skunk babies?
- 2:44Speaker 2: I don't know if I've had the pleasure. I've seen
- 2:46Speaker 2: some maybe teen teens teenskuk.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Smoking in our backyard, some like mini pepe le pews. Yes,
- 2:57Speaker 3: did you were you ever like around? Was there any
- 3:00Speaker 3: fear of getting sprayed?
- 3:02Speaker 2: I'm just I'm fearful that my dog will get sprayed.
- 3:05Speaker 3: So that's kind of the night.
- 3:06Speaker 2: So my dog is old, and so even last night
- 3:10Speaker 2: he wants to go out like four times. My sleep
- 3:12Speaker 2: is so broken because it's yes, and but I have
- 3:16Speaker 2: to I basically have to go outside and watch him
- 3:19Speaker 2: go to the bathroom because I don't want to. There's
- 3:22Speaker 2: raccoons too, so I'm like, I don't want Oh that's
- 3:24Speaker 2: even more hoodies.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Oh god, your dog is a target. I know how
- 3:28Speaker 3: old is he?
- 3:29Speaker 2: He's like a hundred. I don't know he's so because
- 3:32Speaker 2: I adopted him, right, and I tell the story on stage,
- 3:37Speaker 2: but it's it is true that that when we got him,
- 3:39Speaker 2: they said he was two, and then our vet said
- 3:41Speaker 2: he's at least ten.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Oh my god, this is an orphan situation. Yes, the
- 3:45Speaker 3: movie Orphan. Do you remember this movie? They adopt a
- 3:49Speaker 3: little girl and find out that she's like fifty.
- 3:51Speaker 2: This is exactly what it is. I gotta write that down.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's exactly what happened to you. And
- 3:57Speaker 3: now I've just recently found out there's I can't write
- 4:00Speaker 3: commend this documentary because it's garbage. But it's called like
- 4:03Speaker 3: the Curious Case of Natalie Grace, which is you know
- 4:06Speaker 3: so much that you've watched it.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Of course I did.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Well, then maybe you can tell me what happened because
- 4:11Speaker 3: I had to turn it off.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I still don't. I feel like it wasn't Maybe it's
- 4:15Speaker 2: just me. Maybe I also don't watch the end of it,
- 4:17Speaker 2: but I was like, I feel like it wasn't conclusive.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I feel like they were just like, well, well, never
- 4:21Speaker 2: know how old she is.
- 4:22Speaker 3: It's so annoying. I know, it's like it truly to me,
- 4:25Speaker 3: is like the perfect thing for me to watch. If
- 4:27Speaker 3: it had been well made, I would have watched a
- 4:29Speaker 3: thousand episodes. Yeah, but it's like, I don't feel like
- 4:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna get answers here, and it doesn't feel like
- 4:34Speaker 3: the people being interviewed Noah, still know what's going on.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I think it should be illegal too. If you don't
- 4:40Speaker 2: have an ending to your documentary to make us go
- 4:43Speaker 2: through seven hours not.
- 4:45Speaker 3: A moral thing to do.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Find a birth certificate, hire a private detective.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Get to Eastern Europe and find out where this person
- 4:53Speaker 3: came from, find out if she can drink legal things.
- 4:56Speaker 2: So annoying, it's really.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Annoying, and it's like, yeah, because now you can't tell
- 5:01Speaker 3: me what happened. We just have to kind of kind
- 5:03Speaker 3: of speculate as to whether or not she was four
- 5:06Speaker 3: or if she was ninety eight, right, and I was
- 5:08Speaker 3: so on.
- 5:09Speaker 2: They did do a good job of like sariness in
- 5:12Speaker 2: the direction of like, Okay, she's definitely old, and then
- 5:15Speaker 2: the next one I'd be like, wait, she's young. Though.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I was going back and forth.
- 5:20Speaker 3: And there's ever really an expert at least for I
- 5:23Speaker 3: gave up pretty early. But it's like they're talking to
- 5:25Speaker 3: the dad the son in the basement, and then like
- 5:30Speaker 3: some nosy neighbor.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Right, you're just like it felt like Hollywood, where you're
- 5:34Speaker 2: just like, well, how old is she? Like is she young?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Is she old? Well?
- 5:37Speaker 3: Never know, you could ruin her career, right, Everybody loves
- 5:41Speaker 3: her for how young she is, and meanwhile she's trying
- 5:44Speaker 3: to kill her family. That was another thing where it's
- 5:48Speaker 3: like she should I think this is about where I
- 5:50Speaker 3: turned it off, which actually was kind of an exciting part.
- 5:53Speaker 3: She showed up in the parents' bedroom holding a knife, right.
- 5:56Speaker 2: But there was no evidence, Sorry.
- 5:58Speaker 3: There was no evidence, and she didn't kill them, she
- 6:00Speaker 3: didn't attack, right, So she may have just found the
- 6:02Speaker 3: knife and needed to know where it needed to be
- 6:04Speaker 3: put or something.
- 6:05Speaker 2: In the middle of the night. Mommy, Dad, I want
- 6:07Speaker 2: a sandwich.
- 6:08Speaker 3: I'm cleaning up.
- 6:09Speaker 2: How do I make a sandwich again? I have the knife.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I have the biggest possible knife. So, but you watched
- 6:16Speaker 3: all of it?
- 6:17Speaker 2: I think I did, which is it's terrifying that I
- 6:21Speaker 2: forget everything, you know. I think my brain makes me
- 6:23Speaker 2: forget because it's like, well, what if you want to
- 6:25Speaker 2: watch this again and enjoy it? Like Am of Thrones.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of a self preservation thing. That's kind
- 6:31Speaker 3: I think maybe that's a good way of looking at it,
- 6:33Speaker 3: because I forget everything as well, rather than thinking, oh,
- 6:35Speaker 3: I just have no retention, media retention whatsoever. No, it's
- 6:40Speaker 3: my body saying you want to enjoy this again?
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yes? Yes?
- 6:45Speaker 3: Have you seen any good documentaries recently?
- 6:48Speaker 1: Uh?
- 6:49Speaker 2: I think so?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Have you seen the Cup Courts? Have you seen the one?
- 6:53Speaker 3: And we've already talked about this on this podcast. But
- 6:55Speaker 3: the Man who wants to Live Forever?
- 6:56Speaker 2: I haven't that. It's like Netflix is like, I promise
- 7:00Speaker 2: you should watching this, please watch this, and I just
- 7:03Speaker 2: keep going I just don't want to watch it. I
- 7:06Speaker 2: can't get myself to watch it.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I mean, I will say that one has some pretty
- 7:10Speaker 3: clear answers. The answer you're looking for is this man normal?
- 7:14Speaker 4: Right?
- 7:14Speaker 3: And you find that out pretty quickly.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And he's telling you immediately how old he is.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Yes, that's differently between Yeah, so these kind of go
- 7:23Speaker 3: hand in hand.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Maybe that's where I got the idea to make it.
- 7:27Speaker 3: He's like, I'm going to outdo that documentary. I'm going
- 7:29Speaker 3: to tell people how old I am and how old
- 7:31Speaker 3: I could be twenty two. No, I watched that. It's
- 7:37Speaker 3: truly insane. And then, I mean, news keeps coming out
- 7:40Speaker 3: about him because he's out of his mind, is constantly
- 7:43Speaker 3: trying to stay in the news cycle. And this is
- 7:46Speaker 3: an unfortunate piece of news that I learned yesterday. He's
- 7:49Speaker 3: now God, I don't even know if I want to
- 7:51Speaker 3: talk about this on a podcast. He is now posting screenshots,
- 7:55Speaker 3: he's tracking his nightly erections and his sons and their comparison.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Oh wow, and how is his son?
- 8:02Speaker 3: The son's nineteen? Okay, So this, like, if this gives
- 8:05Speaker 3: you any idea of what we're dealing with, right, it's
- 8:09Speaker 3: it's uh, And I can't imagine how he's now dealing
- 8:12Speaker 3: with the air quality in Los Angeles.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I mean, remember when dads just wanted to play catch
- 8:16Speaker 2: with their sons.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Another erather era. Now they're having their DNA edited. They're
- 8:24Speaker 3: basically brainwashing their children into giving them their blood. It's uh,
- 8:29Speaker 3: am I selling this documentary?
- 8:31Speaker 2: Well it's I mean, yeah, that's the wrong sign in Netflix.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I mean, look at us trying to get specials over here.
- 8:38Speaker 2: We can't get a fucking.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Special to get a fifteen minute.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah take my blood, man's got it blid.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Oh okay, So you've got skunks living under the house. Ultimately,
- 8:50Speaker 3: that's what's important. Yes, yes, do you have to get like,
- 8:53Speaker 3: do you have to call animal control?
- 8:55Speaker 2: Yeah? They we did call them, and they got rid
- 8:57Speaker 2: of them in an okay, in.
- 8:59Speaker 3: A human way where they like the hook that they
- 9:01Speaker 3: pull them out.
- 9:02Speaker 2: I have no idea how they really do it. I think, yeah,
- 9:05Speaker 2: they're like, we signed you up for improv classes. Everyone out.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Everyone had to Franklin. Yeah, this is the first real
- 9:17Speaker 3: close encounter I've had with wildlife in the last of
- 9:19Speaker 3: a while. I feel like the fires are kind of
- 9:21Speaker 3: making these animals go all over the place.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Man. Imagine living on the West Side and then as
- 9:26Speaker 2: it's skunk. And then all of a sudden, you're on
- 9:27Speaker 2: the east.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Side, you're headed past Western, you're on the.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Five, and you're just like, I never thought this would
- 9:35Speaker 2: be my life again.
- 9:36Speaker 3: You have your passport, a few pictures of your family.
- 9:39Speaker 2: She was like, well, I might as well go to
- 9:40Speaker 2: kitchen Mouse while I'm here.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Sorry, local reference kitchen Mouse two locations. Wow, everybody had
- 9:50Speaker 3: to kitchen Mouse. Actually, I will say the last time
- 9:52Speaker 3: I was a kitchen mouse, I had a pretty messy sandwhich.
- 9:55Speaker 2: I as my worst fear.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Horrible fear.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I hate that. I also think if you sell a sandwich,
- 10:00Speaker 2: I do think that you should cut off that the
- 10:03Speaker 2: ends so that it's not messy on the end where
- 10:06Speaker 2: the lettuce is falling.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Should that shouldn't touch your hands? Yeah, that's a really
- 10:10Speaker 3: good point.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I think it should just like, go to Natalie Grace,
- 10:13Speaker 2: get that knife, trim up your sandwiches. La.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't want to feel lettuce on my palm.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Yeah, who wants that?
- 10:21Speaker 3: No, I just want the bread there. That's wow, you're
- 10:24Speaker 3: making an excellent point. I mean, having a really good year,
- 10:28Speaker 3: you're finally turning it fround.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I wonder though, like aesthetically, is that going to look
- 10:35Speaker 3: too clean?
- 10:38Speaker 2: It's gonna look like a perfect parent, like the parent
- 10:41Speaker 2: who spends too much time on the sandwich, right right,
- 10:44Speaker 2: and your kid just wants beans.
- 10:47Speaker 3: We all know children just kind of on a bag
- 10:49Speaker 3: of beans at school. They want to be the kid
- 10:51Speaker 3: at school who brought beans.
- 10:53Speaker 2: They want the lunch that Uncle Buck packed. I don't know.
- 10:58Speaker 2: It was like disgusting and all the kids just got
- 11:01Speaker 2: the lunch tavel And then he opens up. He's like,
- 11:03Speaker 2: anybody want to trade? And all the kids go, and
- 11:06Speaker 2: all the chairs go.
- 11:08Speaker 3: There's like smoke from the speeding off. Wow, So is
- 11:11Speaker 3: that what happens to Uncle Buck? He's a bad parent.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Uncle, but he's the uncle and he has to take
- 11:16Speaker 2: over as the parent. And he doesn't know what he's doing.
- 11:19Speaker 2: He's gambling, he's going bowling.
- 11:21Speaker 3: He knows exactly what he's doing.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Yeah, he's it's the greatest movie of all time.
- 11:29Speaker 3: What happened to the parents?
- 11:30Speaker 4: Uh?
- 11:31Speaker 2: They had to go to Indianapolis because Uh, one of
- 11:34Speaker 2: the dad had a heart attack.
- 11:36Speaker 3: The grandpa and that's the nearest. Oh the grandpa, so
- 11:39Speaker 3: had to go.
- 11:39Speaker 2: They just moved to Chicago. Oh god, teenager the teenager
- 11:44Speaker 2: was like, well, maybe maybe he wouldn't have a heart
- 11:47Speaker 2: attack if wouldn't move, or like she's just like she's moving. Yeah,
- 11:51Speaker 2: she's mad about moving. She's not really fitting in in
- 11:54Speaker 2: the suburbs of Chicago.
- 11:55Speaker 3: The grand the stress gave the grandpa heart attack.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah, where kids? Yeah this stress?
- 12:02Speaker 3: What are we supposed to take away from this movie?
- 12:05Speaker 2: Uncle Buck Got his life together?
- 12:09Speaker 3: And it's Macaulay Culkin is the he's the kid pre
- 12:12Speaker 3: Home Alone?
- 12:13Speaker 2: Yes, interesting, right before Home Alone. And Gabby Hoffman.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Gabby Hoffman, Oh my god, wow, is she the sister?
- 12:21Speaker 2: She's the sister? Well, I mean she's not the teenager.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Then there's a teenager who's like it was like a
- 12:26Speaker 2: crush of mine growing up.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Who is it?
- 12:29Speaker 2: Oh?
- 12:29Speaker 3: No, oh her car is over.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like she's in things. But she kind
- 12:34Speaker 2: of has like an Elizabeth shoe, like the like she'd
- 12:37Speaker 2: be like the mean Elizabeth shoe.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Okay. The only like teen I can remember from that
- 12:43Speaker 3: period that was always kind of the surly teen is
- 12:45Speaker 3: Juliet Lewis. Yeah, she's always kind of like annoyed that
- 12:49Speaker 3: something was happening in the family, and she was cool
- 12:51Speaker 3: and she was always cool, but an outcast about an
- 12:54Speaker 3: outcast and a scientologist. Yeah, and so that kind of
- 12:58Speaker 3: fed into every movie that she was.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Wow, So this was an early tease for Macaulay being
- 13:07Speaker 3: kind of left by his parents. They saw him in
- 13:09Speaker 3: this movie, said, people love to see this child about
- 13:12Speaker 3: his parents.
- 13:14Speaker 2: That was the genre.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Yeah, let's build another movie around this concept.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I wonder if he did any other.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Interesting I wonder if he got kind of typecast.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Yeah, what was the one that he did, The party
- 13:25Speaker 2: Monster one?
- 13:26Speaker 3: Oh, do his parents leave town and he becomes the
- 13:28Speaker 3: party monster?
- 13:29Speaker 2: It's like, absolutely those parents weren't around from what I remember.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Let him go to the limelight. Yeah, and then he
- 13:37Speaker 3: becomes a that's a true story, right, he's like a murderer.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I think so again my memory. I mean, he wants
- 13:45Speaker 2: me to watch it again.
- 13:48Speaker 3: It's very Home Alone in a way. He's like left
- 13:51Speaker 3: to his own devices and then is hurting people that.
- 13:54Speaker 2: I think it's the follow up to Home Alone. I
- 13:56Speaker 2: think what happens is just like, well, my parents abandoned me,
- 13:58Speaker 2: and then he just becomes a mon star in platform shoes. Yeah.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Wow, there's that. There's Richie rich I don't know what
- 14:08Speaker 3: happens to the parents, and that people liked, Well, the.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Parents aren't available. Yes, I feel like the butler or
- 14:16Speaker 2: somebody is his friend. And then I know and then
- 14:21Speaker 2: the other the other kids come over and he's got
- 14:23Speaker 2: Oh god, that was such like an aspirational.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he's like the sling shot that shoots you
- 14:28Speaker 3: across the yard or whatever. Where are the parents? They
- 14:30Speaker 3: have to go to Dubai.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Where were the parents? So they leave again they must,
- 14:35Speaker 2: even if they're on the other side of the mansion,
- 14:36Speaker 2: you're not seeing them for.
- 14:37Speaker 3: A while, right, They're just too busy with their own money.
- 14:41Speaker 3: And then Richie rich God knows where his money's coming from.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I remember when I was a PA early in LA
- 14:48Speaker 3: I had to go around to different like places that
- 14:49Speaker 3: props or whatever. And I remember being in a place
- 14:52Speaker 3: that created must have been like fake magazines or something,
- 14:56Speaker 3: but they had one framed on the wall that was
- 14:57Speaker 3: I think it was Time or Busy this Insider, And
- 15:00Speaker 3: I had Macaulay Culkin from that movie and it said
- 15:03Speaker 3: chair Boy of the Board, so it was obviously from
- 15:05Speaker 3: that movie. I want that in my own house. Wow, yeah, great,
- 15:09Speaker 3: fake man.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I have to get that way hold on. I gotta
- 15:11Speaker 2: get that as a gift.
- 15:14Speaker 3: I am I just leaving well, I mean, speaking of gifts,
- 15:20Speaker 3: I mean you brought it up. There's something I'd like
- 15:24Speaker 3: to talk to you about. I'm not comfortable getting into
- 15:29Speaker 3: this topic at all. It's something I rarely have to do,
- 15:33Speaker 3: so I hate that you've put me in this position.
- 15:36Speaker 3: I was excited to have you here today on the podcast.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I thought mo will come by, I'll brag about my
- 15:42Speaker 3: skunk story, She'll leave feeling less than and we'll move
- 15:47Speaker 3: on with our lives. So I was a little surprised.
- 15:52Speaker 3: It was a little shocked, I'll be honest, when I
- 15:54Speaker 3: saw you come trotting in holding a gift bag the
- 15:57Speaker 3: podcast is called. I said, no gifts. We have, you know,
- 16:01Speaker 3: mutual friends who have been on the podcast before you
- 16:04Speaker 3: obviously received emails. I assumed you would get it. So
- 16:11Speaker 3: I don't know what's the meaning of this gift.
- 16:14Speaker 2: I mean, when you become a parent, okay, and you
- 16:19Speaker 2: start having to go to all of these parties, you
- 16:22Speaker 2: feel like such an idiot when you come empty handed,
- 16:25Speaker 2: and a lot of these birthday parties they tell you, hey,
- 16:29Speaker 2: no gifts, right, And I'm like, I always feel really
- 16:32Speaker 2: bad for the kid. And I know they're just trying
- 16:33Speaker 2: to be good for the environment or whatever. But all
- 16:35Speaker 2: these LA parties they say do not bring gifts, and
- 16:38Speaker 2: I'm the only one that comes in Santa Claus herself
- 16:46Speaker 2: with a nice shiny truck for little Johnny.
- 16:52Speaker 3: Okay, so you kind of just feel like this is
- 16:54Speaker 3: an extension of that behavior. Yes, well it's in this
- 16:58Speaker 3: beautiful mushroom bag. Should I open it here on the podcast?
- 17:03Speaker 2: I mean, I would love for you too.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Okay, let's get into it here. Let's see here, we've
- 17:11Speaker 3: got some tissue and we're reaching in, we're pulling out. Oh,
- 17:18Speaker 3: so we're looking at a piece of clothing. Here, it's
- 17:21Speaker 3: some sort of t shirt. Oh, it's a twenty twenty
- 17:25Speaker 3: two champions the City of Burbank ball. Oh basketball, Yes, this.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Is clearly.
- 17:35Speaker 3: I saw a net beneath, which is based obviously a
- 17:39Speaker 3: basketball net, but my brain immediately jumped to volleyball. I
- 17:43Speaker 3: think it's because volleyball is a sport that scares me most.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it is scary. That ball comes very it's bad.
- 17:48Speaker 3: So it's terrifying to me. No, this is basketball. Were
- 17:52Speaker 3: you on this team?
- 17:53Speaker 2: Okay? So because I'm in Burbank right now at the studio.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I thought to myself, listen, I don't know if you've
- 17:58Speaker 2: ever won a championship, especially a rec league basketball with
- 18:02Speaker 2: women who are all over the age of thirty five
- 18:07Speaker 2: basically walking down the court. But I have, and I
- 18:09Speaker 2: know what it feels like to be a winner. And
- 18:12Speaker 2: I wanted you to have that same feeling. And I
- 18:15Speaker 2: can't wait to see you wearing that around town.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Interesting assumption that you would think that I've never won
- 18:20Speaker 3: anything accurate, but a big swing on your part. I
- 18:27Speaker 3: would say, I'm not trying to think if I've won
- 18:30Speaker 3: any sport thing ever. No, I have gone trophies.
- 18:35Speaker 2: What are the trophies for?
- 18:36Speaker 3: Well, I was on im from you. I was on
- 18:38Speaker 3: the Junior Jazz for a few years, and you know
- 18:41Speaker 3: they would give you a trophy regardless of skill level
- 18:44Speaker 3: or comprey. Yes, whatever you added to the team.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Was John Sockton your coach?
- 18:50Speaker 3: I wish, my god, I would have loved to have
- 18:53Speaker 3: John stocks as a coach. He was my hero, fellow
- 18:56Speaker 3: short person. He's short, right, yeah.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Well, he's also a guy that like he's just one
- 19:01Speaker 2: of those guys that if he's wearing regular clothes. You're like,
- 19:03Speaker 2: there's no way this man plays basketball. And I love
- 19:06Speaker 2: people like that. You're like, there's absolutely no way.
- 19:09Speaker 3: He looks like a math professor. Does maybe not even
- 19:12Speaker 3: I would say like a high school math teacher. He
- 19:14Speaker 3: just kind of jeans and a bad shirt.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah, he looks like and he looks like he's always
- 19:20Speaker 2: looked like a dad when he was like twenty one,
- 19:22Speaker 2: like a.
- 19:22Speaker 3: Dad forever fifty and but a very good point guard. Yes,
- 19:27Speaker 3: one of the all time great acting like I know
- 19:30Speaker 3: how one.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Of the all time great volleyball basketball players is he?
- 19:35Speaker 3: Currently? He kind of coaches now right, I'm.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Not sure what he's up to. I think he occasionally
- 19:40Speaker 2: I will do a little Google search of John Stockton, Yeah,
- 19:44Speaker 2: of John Stockton, or like players where I'm like, what
- 19:46Speaker 2: what do you do after retirement?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Yeah? Usually you either from what my experience, you coach,
- 19:53Speaker 3: or you open a car dealership, right, or a restaurant, Oh,
- 19:57Speaker 3: restaurant Johnson?
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, Michael Jordan, in which I always was confused by
- 20:01Speaker 2: because I'm like, all these guys ever did was eat concessions.
- 20:05Speaker 2: That shows what do these guys know about?
- 20:10Speaker 3: Food?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Always is still a thing I think it's in the
- 20:13Speaker 2: Denver International Airport that I.
- 20:15Speaker 3: Think that is like the exact timeline of a basketball player.
- 20:20Speaker 3: They start the business, it succeeds for a little while,
- 20:24Speaker 3: but then it's no longer successful enough to stand on
- 20:26Speaker 3: its own. It moves to an airport, right, yes, and
- 20:29Speaker 3: then eventually dies.
- 20:30Speaker 2: It does. And I don't even think with the car dealerships,
- 20:33Speaker 2: I feel like, I mean, it's really funny to think
- 20:36Speaker 2: of a popular play like Lebron all of a sudden
- 20:38Speaker 2: as car dealerships. It's become Now they're like media moguls,
- 20:41Speaker 2: oh yeah, or even on the lowest level, become social
- 20:46Speaker 2: media like eat my gummies.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that is kind of the new thing, right, Like
- 20:51Speaker 3: if you were a famous athlete in the nineties you
- 20:54Speaker 3: had a car dealership, and now you have it all right,
- 20:59Speaker 3: because I I'll go home on occasion and there's still
- 21:02Speaker 3: the Carl Malone car Dealership and it has a very
- 21:06Speaker 3: funny sign because it says on the side it says
- 21:08Speaker 3: Carl Malone's Body and Paint. But if you just see
- 21:11Speaker 3: the first few letters, it just seems like a business
- 21:13Speaker 3: that's for Carl Malon's body.
- 21:17Speaker 2: But it's like an attraction of roadside attraction.
- 21:21Speaker 3: It's like a King tut situation. He's just lying in
- 21:23Speaker 3: a coffin or whatever. It's not a bad idea. After
- 21:28Speaker 3: Carl passes, yes, it could tour Him'll bring it to
- 21:31Speaker 3: his people. Who was your team growing up?
- 21:35Speaker 2: The Bulls?
- 21:36Speaker 3: Oh are you from Chicago?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm from Illinois.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Yeah, so we really had a rivalry. We did, Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 3: because there was a point when the Jazz were good, right,
- 21:45Speaker 3: extremely good, almost good enough.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I moved to Chicago basically when the
- 21:51Speaker 2: Bulls became really bad, right after all the championships. Yeah,
- 21:56Speaker 2: so it was it was tough, but then I became
- 22:00Speaker 2: I don't know, then I was like, well now I'm
- 22:01Speaker 2: a fan, and even bigger fan.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Yeah, because you're rote have something to root.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yeah, And then you know, you get to that point
- 22:07Speaker 2: where you're in your early twenties and I'm like, what
- 22:08Speaker 2: am I doing watching all these games?
- 22:10Speaker 3: Like nobody's I'm not getting anything, No one's moving forward.
- 22:17Speaker 3: They're just losing game after game, and.
- 22:19Speaker 2: I'm just spending the hours. And I remember I used
- 22:21Speaker 2: to watch the Bears games and like when I was
- 22:24Speaker 2: in college and I would just be like at my
- 22:27Speaker 2: apartment watching them by myself in my room, and I'm like,
- 22:30Speaker 2: like watching these people live their dreams and I'm like,
- 22:34Speaker 2: it's not outside. No, I got to go play frisbee golf.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Do you play frisbee golf?
- 22:41Speaker 2: I really want to.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Okay, have you ever done it?
- 22:45Speaker 2: I've tossed it around a few times, but I'm not
- 22:48Speaker 2: in a real way.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Okay, that's a big thing in the valley here, isn't it.
- 22:51Speaker 3: People play a lot of frisbee golf around here.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I would love to try.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Am I just assuming that because there's enough space in Burbank.
- 22:56Speaker 2: To I know? I really I feel like that's true. Yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 2: this is the only place in LA that it's happening.
- 23:05Speaker 3: No, I feel like frisbee golf is something I could do.
- 23:08Speaker 2: That's that's why I want to do it, because I
- 23:10Speaker 2: also have the same feeling about myself.
- 23:11Speaker 3: That's a good slogan for frisbee golf. It's something you
- 23:14Speaker 3: could do.
- 23:15Speaker 2: It's something even you could do.
- 23:19Speaker 3: It just really nags you from the beginning, something even
- 23:23Speaker 3: you could do. And do you play it on like
- 23:28Speaker 3: golf courses?
- 23:30Speaker 2: It's like a in a park.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I believe.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Okay, you're bothering people.
- 23:34Speaker 2: You're bothering people. Yeah, kids are getting.
- 23:36Speaker 3: Hit in like you're getting in the way of picnics. Yeah,
- 23:40Speaker 3: people are just trying to mind their own business instead
- 23:42Speaker 3: of they're in the middle of your game. Even you
- 23:45Speaker 3: can do this, and I guess it's just like golf,
- 23:48Speaker 3: where like two people can play at a time.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I don't know, Like I feel like you could have
- 23:54Speaker 2: a few people because then you each treat it like
- 23:58Speaker 2: a hole or whatever.
- 24:00Speaker 3: I don't know, but you don't need a lot of people.
- 24:02Speaker 2: No, I think you can play solo.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Oh, now that feels sad.
- 24:05Speaker 1: It is.
- 24:06Speaker 3: That's tough.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Well, it's like you're practicing then and right, you're practicing
- 24:11Speaker 2: for this. It's kind of like when you're going to
- 24:13Speaker 2: the pick a ball court as you do it, just
- 24:18Speaker 2: like yeah, I've seen like people do that and I'm like,
- 24:20Speaker 2: come on, we can we gotta get out of this.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Find somebody put a post on Craigslist or something. Maybe
- 24:29Speaker 3: a pickleball.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Can't practice pickleball?
- 24:33Speaker 3: How possibly you hit it against a wall?
- 24:35Speaker 2: No, okay, there are two courts. When I was like playing,
- 24:38Speaker 2: I would go with my wife and we go with
- 24:39Speaker 2: our friends. There always to be this woman that had
- 24:43Speaker 2: the whole court. So she is taking up an entire
- 24:46Speaker 2: pickleball right now.
- 24:47Speaker 3: It's selfish and said, yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm just and you can't obviously you can't
- 24:52Speaker 2: like move her, so.
- 24:57Speaker 3: But I don't even understand. So she's just like hitting
- 24:59Speaker 3: it over the net and going in.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yes, she had like a well she had like a
- 25:03Speaker 2: bucket of balls.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Oh, okay, that could be done anywhere. You don't need
- 25:07Speaker 3: the court to do that alone.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Yeah, she could also do it on There are plenty
- 25:10Speaker 2: of basketball courts and nobody was playing basketball.
- 25:12Speaker 3: In your living room. Yeah, keep us out of it,
- 25:15Speaker 3: keep us out of it selfish loser, Yeah, totally unfair. Wait,
- 25:21Speaker 3: so in twenty twenty two, you were on this team.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yes, I'm still on that team.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Okay, And how are you guys doing?
- 25:27Speaker 1: Now?
- 25:27Speaker 2: We won last season as well.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Wow, you're dominating.
- 25:31Speaker 2: We did have a three pet Oh my god, congrats,
- 25:34Speaker 2: thank you. Where do you play It's at the All
- 25:38Speaker 2: of Recreational Center. It's like right and Burbank.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, and do you have a coach?
- 25:44Speaker 2: No, No, it's just it's wreck basketball. I've been playing
- 25:46Speaker 2: in this league, that league for like over ten years
- 25:49Speaker 2: I think at this point. So we've been a team
- 25:52Speaker 2: at this point, we just can't leave. We've been playing
- 25:54Speaker 2: together for so long, and we look so bad. Like
- 25:59Speaker 2: when teams, like younger teams will come in, they're like,
- 26:02Speaker 2: I'm about to beat these like little up. Yeah. Literally,
- 26:07Speaker 2: did they know we've been playing together so long that
- 26:09Speaker 2: your marine?
- 26:11Speaker 3: Yeah, of course you know everything about each other. Wow,
- 26:15Speaker 3: did you play in high school or college?
- 26:17Speaker 2: I played in high school, I played in I played
- 26:21Speaker 2: one year of junior college basketball.
- 26:24Speaker 3: So you must be pretty good.
- 26:25Speaker 2: No, I mean I was when I was like twenty.
- 26:30Speaker 3: But you're a three people.
- 26:31Speaker 2: I mean, come on, I'm on the team.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Yeah, what's your position on the thing is?
- 26:37Speaker 2: You don't practice as like a rec league? You know,
- 26:39Speaker 2: you have your you basically you live your life during
- 26:42Speaker 2: the week, and then you come in. You don't stretch
- 26:44Speaker 2: and you so around. It's so dangerous.
- 26:49Speaker 3: So you all just show up having done your own
- 26:51Speaker 3: homework and hope things work out.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and you have you know, this is my retirement year,
- 26:57Speaker 2: this five, I'm retiring from recreational basket.
- 27:01Speaker 3: You have to make an announcement.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Well, I'm making it an entire documentary.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Way are you currently filming?
- 27:08Speaker 2: And I'm and it's Natalie Grace is in it. She's
- 27:11Speaker 2: on my team.
- 27:14Speaker 3: She's really kept to herself.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Yeah, she won't put her birth year on the forms, she.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Won't sign the release. Yeah, it's holding up the documentary.
- 27:25Speaker 2: It really is.
- 27:25Speaker 3: We just to blur her out, a small blur just
- 27:29Speaker 3: all over the court.
- 27:31Speaker 2: It's been really difficult. It takes so long to edit.
- 27:38Speaker 3: People have had to pull her aside and say, Natalie,
- 27:40Speaker 3: you are ruining the documentary.
- 27:42Speaker 2: And she's just the thing is, she's a beast on
- 27:44Speaker 2: the court, and she gets a triple double every game.
- 27:49Speaker 3: We're rooting for her.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah, we are.
- 27:51Speaker 3: She's the you know, you always start documentary thinking this
- 27:55Speaker 3: is gonna be the subject and then you find the
- 27:57Speaker 3: story and this is an Italia's this is it.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I'm in a back seat.
- 28:01Speaker 3: Now, how long have you been shooting this documentary for
- 28:07Speaker 3: like two.
- 28:07Speaker 2: And a half years?
- 28:09Speaker 3: Oh my god, this is what happened is I.
- 28:15Speaker 2: I started to film it during this season and it
- 28:19Speaker 2: was going to be our big you know, Okay, we're
- 28:21Speaker 2: going to be We're we want to win the championship.
- 28:24Speaker 2: And we were by far the worst team and we
- 28:28Speaker 2: kept getting beat by thirty points and then forty points
- 28:33Speaker 2: and we're so bad that I was like, well, I
- 28:36Speaker 2: can't go out like this, and so then I tried
- 28:38Speaker 2: another seat. So now I'm basically on my third retirement season.
- 28:42Speaker 3: So oh so in that first season you said this
- 28:45Speaker 3: is the last time.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that was going to be the last one,
- 28:48Speaker 2: and then the next one. And now I've actually stooped
- 28:52Speaker 2: to paying players. I'm going to be paying some player salaries.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Can I ask what you're paying them?
- 28:59Speaker 2: I'll give them as it depends on how good they are.
- 29:01Speaker 2: But I'm my plan is to give them like an
- 29:05Speaker 2: envelope of two hundred dollars and see if that's enough.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Just kind of watch their face as they open it.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Yeah, see how they and see if they If that's enough,
- 29:15Speaker 2: I guess.
- 29:16Speaker 3: So when is the do you know when the final
- 29:17Speaker 3: game is?
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it's probably going to be in maybe July or something.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I'd love for you to come.
- 29:24Speaker 3: I will be there. Okay, great, put it on my calendar,
- 29:27Speaker 3: send me an invite. Amazing, holyst write this down. I've
- 29:30Speaker 3: got to go to this game. I will be there.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I'm going to be the final shot of this documentary.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yes, you are just going to be all of a sudden,
- 29:36Speaker 2: You're in the game.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Scoring the game winning points. The first time I've ever
- 29:42Speaker 3: been valuable to a basketball team.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Amazing, amazing, ending.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Do you guys have a team name?
- 29:49Speaker 2: Let's see, I'm trying to I we were the ninety
- 29:52Speaker 2: nine Bowls because it was like the worst team mystery.
- 29:58Speaker 2: But I've been calling the documentary Last Chance Me. Okay,
- 30:02Speaker 2: so maybe it'll be called the Last Chance Me. I
- 30:06Speaker 2: would love I mean, even your listeners, if anybody has
- 30:08Speaker 2: a good idea for a team name. We have until April.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Okay, we've got until April. Yeah for a team name.
- 30:14Speaker 3: I'm going to start brain and storm everything. The Bridgers.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I love it.
- 30:19Speaker 3: It's decent thought, but it's like, why not get the
- 30:22Speaker 3: name out there? I love it.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I've become a sponsor of a women's basketball team.
- 30:27Speaker 3: The Curious Cases, the Natalie Graces. The names are right
- 30:33Speaker 3: here for you to take it.
- 30:34Speaker 2: You're right, it's gonna be a hard decision.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Ninety nine Bowls. I like that name. So ninety eight
- 30:40Speaker 3: they were okay, yeah they won, Okay, yeah, that must
- 30:43Speaker 3: have been when I stopped watching.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Yeah, then a goat Yeah. Then it was like they
- 30:46Speaker 2: have to root for a whole new team.
- 30:48Speaker 3: And I kind of just lost interest at that point.
- 30:51Speaker 3: And as you said, now every year I promise myself,
- 30:53Speaker 3: I'm going to get back into watching basketball, and then
- 30:55Speaker 3: don't do it, then regret it.
- 30:58Speaker 2: It's there are a lot of game games in a basketball.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Season of games, and now WNBA and NBA there's double
- 31:06Speaker 3: the amount of games to watch.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Well, the women will play as many, but so yeah,
- 31:10Speaker 2: so if you want like a smaller yeah, and they
- 31:13Speaker 2: play in the problem for me is that they play
- 31:16Speaker 2: in the summer. Oh, and I'm like, there's so much
- 31:18Speaker 2: to do in the summer.
- 31:20Speaker 3: That's a bad schedule. It is.
- 31:22Speaker 2: I think they should be the same.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Time, get more eyes on it during the fall.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I think it should be like an opener closer situation
- 31:28Speaker 2: in the NBA, like where sometimes the WNBA closes. Maybe
- 31:34Speaker 2: it's the same.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Day, Right, you have to sit through two full basketball games, right,
- 31:39Speaker 3: that's not a bad idea. That's kind of the only
- 31:41Speaker 3: way you can do that to double up on the schedule. Yeah, summer.
- 31:46Speaker 3: I can't imagine sitting around at night during the summer
- 31:48Speaker 3: watching game after game after game.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Well, I was gifted before the WNBA kind of and
- 31:55Speaker 2: I'm so happy, blew up.
- 31:57Speaker 3: And yeah it's really exploded less incredible.
- 32:00Speaker 2: But the season before that, I got a season tickets
- 32:04Speaker 2: for my birthday. Is a gift. And I love watching basketball.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I mean, I'm wearing a Sparks hat right now.
- 32:12Speaker 3: I say, yes, like, I know, I have no idea
- 32:14Speaker 3: what these teams are.
- 32:15Speaker 2: And I got even I, like a huge basketball fan,
- 32:20Speaker 2: went to maybe two of those games because I'm like,
- 32:23Speaker 2: you have to plan your entire schedule around that.
- 32:26Speaker 3: It's an event. It's more than like going to the opera. Right,
- 32:29Speaker 3: you have to drive somewhere. It takes up hours and
- 32:32Speaker 3: hours that parking.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Is Yeah, the parking.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Where did they play?
- 32:36Speaker 2: You have at Staple Center at a crypto dot com arena.
- 32:40Speaker 3: That's a long way to go.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Yes, you have to find something in purple to wear.
- 32:45Speaker 3: Of course you can't not in purple. You can't ejected
- 32:49Speaker 3: from the game immediately. Yeah, and how many games a
- 32:52Speaker 3: week are they playing?
- 32:53Speaker 2: Well, they don't. It just depends on how many home
- 32:55Speaker 2: games they have. But it was enough where I was
- 32:57Speaker 2: like this isn't worth the money.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Wow?
- 32:59Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, And I'm not the type of person I'm
- 33:02Speaker 2: really bad at being like Okay, well, I'll sell them
- 33:04Speaker 2: this week or like my job.
- 33:07Speaker 3: I'm like, no, yeah, that seems now that I'm thinking
- 33:12Speaker 3: about it, it seems like it's such a luxurious thing
- 33:15Speaker 3: to have season passes. But now that's the most stressful
- 33:17Speaker 3: thing I can imagine it is. It's just like the planning,
- 33:20Speaker 3: don't do guilt, Yeah, the worry.
- 33:23Speaker 2: And it's like, oh, I got to be in town
- 33:25Speaker 2: for this. Oh I was gonna go to my sister's wedding,
- 33:27Speaker 2: but I have a Sparks game to go.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Owning a dog, it is less rewarding they should. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 3: I think it's more just find the games you want
- 33:38Speaker 3: to go to, go to them, don't go to them.
- 33:41Speaker 2: I like one game a year, that's really all I
- 33:43Speaker 2: need to go to. Wow one Yeah, okay, in all sports.
- 33:47Speaker 2: One game, I'm like, I don't need.
- 33:50Speaker 3: It's about ten times the amount I need to go to.
- 33:54Speaker 3: I see like the traffic going to a Dodgers game,
- 33:57Speaker 3: and I think that would be a once in a
- 33:59Speaker 3: lifetime activity for me.
- 34:00Speaker 2: The game is getting into the game, it's parking, it's
- 34:05Speaker 2: it's the whole hassle of getting getting your hot dog,
- 34:07Speaker 2: getting your Dodger dog. All of that requires so much
- 34:11Speaker 2: more than the actual game itself.
- 34:16Speaker 3: Is a Dodger dog different than a regular hot dog.
- 34:19Speaker 2: I think it's just longer. Okay, but here we go again.
- 34:22Speaker 2: It's coming out of the side of the bun.
- 34:26Speaker 3: I'm want rubbing against my up against my hands. Hey,
- 34:32Speaker 3: two hands like a corn on the co just eating
- 34:36Speaker 3: the bund. So it's just longer. And are they building
- 34:41Speaker 3: the gondola? Have you been tracking this at all? Not
- 34:44Speaker 3: at all, none of us. Apparently we don't want the
- 34:46Speaker 3: gondola being built. Where something moron is trying to build
- 34:50Speaker 3: a gondola from I think Griffith Park to Dodger Stadium.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Wait, that's long, right, Yeah, I.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Think that's quite a way. How do you even keep
- 34:59Speaker 3: that up in the wait?
- 35:00Speaker 2: So, if they're going from Griffith Park to Dodger Stadium,
- 35:03Speaker 2: they're just going over the highway.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I think so.
- 35:06Speaker 3: And obviously I don't know that much and I'm just
- 35:09Speaker 3: making things up, but that would be exciting. But I
- 35:12Speaker 3: think we're not supposed to want this. It's kind of
- 35:15Speaker 3: Olympics vibes where it's like this just seems like a
- 35:17Speaker 3: wasteful thing that there's probably a better solution.
- 35:20Speaker 2: But it's going over people's houses.
- 35:22Speaker 3: It's going over people's houses. It's running into birds, yes,
- 35:26Speaker 3: scaring people in their cars, just screaming as you drive
- 35:35Speaker 3: down the one. A one that seems extremely dangerous. Even
- 35:40Speaker 3: if it's a short distance. A gondola is dangerous. It
- 35:43Speaker 3: could fall to the ground at any time.
- 35:44Speaker 2: And also, have you ever had fun in a gondole?
- 35:48Speaker 2: As anyone?
- 35:49Speaker 3: I'm having a blast. It's a thrill ride slowly moving
- 35:54Speaker 3: down a cable.
- 35:55Speaker 2: It's just like whoa, oh my god, look how high
- 35:58Speaker 2: we are? Oh my god, wait, there's my car.
- 36:02Speaker 3: I will say. The gondola. Have you been up the
- 36:05Speaker 3: one in Palm Springs?
- 36:07Speaker 2: You know, that's the one I do want to go on.
- 36:08Speaker 2: It's exhilarating because I don't remember it unless it's it's
- 36:11Speaker 2: on the way out of town basin.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Yes, yes, it's kind of the first thing you see
- 36:15Speaker 3: as went on. I've been on it.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I was like, who goes on that? People like sighting?
- 36:20Speaker 3: And I had such a good time. It's kind of scary.
- 36:24Speaker 3: M's it feels old enough that something could happen, so
- 36:27Speaker 3: you're a little like, oh, this is exciting. And then
- 36:30Speaker 3: you get up to the top of the mountain and
- 36:31Speaker 3: it's no longer desert a, it's more mountain a, which
- 36:34Speaker 3: is it's such a Jurassic shift from Palm Springs.
- 36:38Speaker 2: And do you get out at the top.
- 36:40Speaker 3: You get out at the top, and I think there
- 36:41Speaker 3: are hiking options. My boyfriend refused, so we kind of
- 36:44Speaker 3: just had to sit in the lodge and wait to
- 36:47Speaker 3: go back, kind of watch people eat like Dorito's and
- 36:52Speaker 3: probably Dodger dog style food, and then you go back
- 36:56Speaker 3: down and you are there seats of like a weird
- 37:00Speaker 3: lodge at the top or.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Like but like I mean when you're in the ganda
- 37:04Speaker 2: or in the gondola, I believe you stand and how
- 37:06Speaker 2: many people are in there with you, I'm going.
- 37:08Speaker 3: To estimate eight to ten. Okay, that feels about right.
- 37:11Speaker 2: So this is like a nightmare elevator ride, is what
- 37:15Speaker 2: I'm hearing. If that thing get that's how you choose
- 37:18Speaker 2: to look at yehs, which I do.
- 37:22Speaker 3: I kind of see it as a little uh, a
- 37:24Speaker 3: little splurge, a little vacation, a little cruise.
- 37:28Speaker 2: I appreciate that you're going out there and you're doing that.
- 37:31Speaker 2: The attractions in Palm Springs.
- 37:34Speaker 3: I think that's the one I've ever done. Oh, I've
- 37:36Speaker 3: done that, and then I've done There used to be
- 37:38Speaker 3: a thing called robot lights. Are you familiar with this? No,
- 37:41Speaker 3: this thing was incredible. This was one of the weirdest
- 37:43Speaker 3: things I've ever experienced. There's a an artist. I guess
- 37:47Speaker 3: that's what he is out there, some sort of thing. Uh,
- 37:50Speaker 3: And I think he comes from wealth and owns a
- 37:54Speaker 3: house in a nice neighborhood. But decades ago, I think,
- 37:57Speaker 3: started collecting garbage and things like this and turning them
- 38:00Speaker 3: into structures in his backyard, giant robotic structures, spray painting them,
- 38:05Speaker 3: turning them into all sorts of robots and things. And
- 38:08Speaker 3: every year during the holidays he would open it up
- 38:10Speaker 3: and you could go wander through it.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Oh wow.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Obviously I think that bothered the neighbors because he's just
- 38:16Speaker 3: literally in a neighborhood, and some annoying neighbor got it
- 38:20Speaker 3: closed down. So but it was kind of the thing
- 38:23Speaker 3: you would do in Palm Springs during the holidays.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Oh, that's fun.
- 38:26Speaker 3: I have to imagine all that garbage is still there. Yeah,
- 38:30Speaker 3: it's I imagine if you weremoving a bunch of toxins
- 38:33Speaker 3: fly into the air and kill the neighbors.
- 38:34Speaker 2: It's out of the closet a thrift store.
- 38:39Speaker 3: He just donated it all to the good will. Yeah,
- 38:42Speaker 3: what do you do with it? Like a spray painted
- 38:45Speaker 3: Oregon and t Rex that you found in the trash?
- 38:51Speaker 3: But I think he might do private tours now. So
- 38:53Speaker 3: those are the two things I've ever done in the
- 38:55Speaker 3: two spring.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Well, I've been to the date farm. Date farm.
- 38:58Speaker 3: He loves to go to the date farm.
- 39:00Speaker 2: But I overdosed on dates because I've never had one
- 39:02Speaker 2: since I had a date shake. I've had a date shake, yeah,
- 39:07Speaker 2: and then I had I like bought dates there because
- 39:09Speaker 2: it just feels like you know when you go to
- 39:10Speaker 2: one of those places and you're like they have all
- 39:12Speaker 2: the things, Like when you go into a fudge store
- 39:14Speaker 2: and I'm like any other time in my life, but
- 39:17Speaker 2: you're like on Macina Island or something, and you're like, Okay,
- 39:20Speaker 2: I guess I'm meeting fudge now, and you have to
- 39:22Speaker 2: buy a brick of it and then you just have it.
- 39:25Speaker 3: You always buy too much fudge, Yeah, you can't. You
- 39:28Speaker 3: should probably buy like the size of a stamp of
- 39:30Speaker 3: fudge and you'll have enough. But you buy the thing
- 39:33Speaker 3: that's literally like you can build a home with us,
- 39:36Speaker 3: and then you're like, well, I'm sick of this flavor.
- 39:39Speaker 2: And my mom always gets it. She goes on vacation,
- 39:41Speaker 2: go's like Door County, Wisconsin, and she'll get me these
- 39:45Speaker 2: bricks of fudge, and I'm just like, I like, I
- 39:49Speaker 2: hate to say it, but I'm like, there's chocolate at
- 39:51Speaker 2: the store, and I don't want to put anyone out
- 39:54Speaker 2: of business here.
- 39:56Speaker 3: I mean, my feeling with fudge is you just ask
- 39:59Speaker 3: for a sample, then you leave the store. You've had enough, yes, yeah,
- 40:02Speaker 3: but again we don't want are.
- 40:03Speaker 2: You ever guilty? Are you ever samples? I get like,
- 40:07Speaker 2: even with frozen yogurt, it's just like you. And then
- 40:10Speaker 2: I go, well, like because then you do that thing
- 40:12Speaker 2: where you lie and you go I'll be back. I
- 40:14Speaker 2: just have a show and then I'll come back. I
- 40:16Speaker 2: just don't want to eat, and then you're lying.
- 40:19Speaker 3: I often do that with like small boutiques or like
- 40:23Speaker 3: local stores that have stylish but two expensive goods and
- 40:27Speaker 3: they're small, and it's like you you're the only person
- 40:29Speaker 3: in the store, and of course you're not going to
- 40:31Speaker 3: buy anything, so then you have to say I'll be
- 40:34Speaker 3: back next weekend, Yes, be back yeah, I've liked to
- 40:38Speaker 3: so many small business owners.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Getting on the phone. Hold on one second, Oh, you
- 40:43Speaker 2: have to go right now. Okay, I was just gonna
- 40:45Speaker 2: buy this. Let me just put this down. Okay, I'll
- 40:48Speaker 2: be back next weekend.
- 40:50Speaker 3: I'm getting in an ambulance. I don't feel guilty in
- 40:54Speaker 3: a frozen yogurt place because I feel like it's usually
- 40:58Speaker 3: a giant corporation.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and it doesn't take a lot to make the
- 41:01Speaker 2: frozen yogurt.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Right, It's essentially powder and water.
- 41:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but to do it anyway, it's I will gain
- 41:09Speaker 2: twenty pounds to I don't know why this is, Like,
- 41:12Speaker 2: I think that is where my people pleasing comes through.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Is just some places like this.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Where it's absolutely meaningless.
- 41:17Speaker 2: Yeah it is. And I'm like, okay, well, I guess
- 41:19Speaker 2: I'm buying the shelf because the store's small. Yeah.
- 41:24Speaker 3: I like, I'll get trapped in that cycle. And what
- 41:26Speaker 3: I do is I remind myself of when I had
- 41:28Speaker 3: jobs like that that were just kind of part time
- 41:32Speaker 3: or whatever. I'll remember like, oh, I didn't care what
- 41:34Speaker 3: the customer did.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Either, That's true.
- 41:36Speaker 3: I wanted them to go away. Yeah, I was like
- 41:38Speaker 3: when they left, I was happy.
- 41:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you're not getting paid any different unless it's like
- 41:42Speaker 2: the owner of the frozen.
- 41:44Speaker 3: That's where we run into traps.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Which I have been friends with owners of frozen yogurt shops. Brag,
- 41:50Speaker 2: Yeah it's not a big deal.
- 41:54Speaker 3: Ah yeah, How did we get to frozen yoga sample?
- 41:58Speaker 2: We always will, we always do.
- 42:01Speaker 3: We were talking about fudge. I have completely again memory,
- 42:05Speaker 3: It's just absolutely there's no I would have to spend
- 42:08Speaker 3: the next half hour trying to uh trace back to
- 42:11Speaker 3: how we got to this product, to this conversation.
- 42:14Speaker 2: Impossible.
- 42:16Speaker 3: I interesting, we start with basketball, we end up in
- 42:19Speaker 3: frozen yogurt. Kind of a tale as old as time.
- 42:23Speaker 3: I would say, is there anybody on your team that's
- 42:26Speaker 3: also in comedy.
- 42:27Speaker 2: On my Sunday team? I don't think so. Okay, it's
- 42:30Speaker 2: mostly just yeah, just pros at their lives. Like there
- 42:36Speaker 2: we have a mother daughter oh on our team.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Is there any rivalry between the two of them?
- 42:41Speaker 2: No, but like sometimes you know, you you see you
- 42:45Speaker 2: see the mothering sometimes.
- 42:46Speaker 3: Interesting, just like you know, I can't imagine being on
- 42:49Speaker 3: a team with a parent.
- 42:51Speaker 2: I first of all, I would immediately I just know myself.
- 42:54Speaker 2: I'd immediately yell at my mom that she's doing something wrong,
- 42:57Speaker 2: of course, and I don't wouldn't do that in real life,
- 42:59Speaker 2: but in back basketball, I'm just like, immediately, please go
- 43:02Speaker 2: sit on the bench. You're embarrassing me. Stop talking about
- 43:06Speaker 2: the day I was born. Had you ever been on
- 43:10Speaker 2: a team with a family member.
- 43:11Speaker 3: There's no chance. I mean, first of all, none of
- 43:13Speaker 3: us are good at sports, so that I had to
- 43:18Speaker 3: tell me a sport, and then I'll think of which
- 43:20Speaker 3: family member.
- 43:20Speaker 2: It's going to be volley basketball, and you played basketball
- 43:23Speaker 2: with a volleyball. That's the only difference.
- 43:25Speaker 3: And it can be a parent or a sibling. Yes,
- 43:29Speaker 3: I wish one family member had athletic skill. I'm going
- 43:34Speaker 3: I guess I would have to say out of all
- 43:36Speaker 3: of those, probably my dad is the most has probably
- 43:41Speaker 3: played some type of sport in his life. The rest
- 43:44Speaker 3: of us are absolutely worthless as far as athletics go.
- 43:49Speaker 2: How many are there?
- 43:50Speaker 3: I have three siblings, they and my mom and dad,
- 43:55Speaker 3: and I can say with confidence that all three of
- 43:58Speaker 3: my siblings are horrible at sports.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's good to be bad at sports.
- 44:02Speaker 2: You say, so, as you get older, you're like, what
- 44:04Speaker 2: do I need that for?
- 44:06Speaker 3: To have a nice time. I would love to have
- 44:08Speaker 3: a nice time, and I'm simply not allowed.
- 44:10Speaker 2: You're not allowed.
- 44:11Speaker 3: You're right, Although I now, like the older I get.
- 44:14Speaker 3: I see friends getting severely injured playing basketball, yes, which
- 44:18Speaker 3: never even occurred to me. Like they're like real horrible
- 44:21Speaker 3: injuries where they end up with a surgery or whatever.
- 44:24Speaker 2: I've seen, Like I play basketball outside sometimes with mostly
- 44:29Speaker 2: male comedians, and I have seen a guy boom both
- 44:33Speaker 2: teeth out.
- 44:34Speaker 3: Oh.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Like as an actor, you know, you're just like say goodbye. Yeah.
- 44:40Speaker 2: He What I'm saying is he is an actor, not me.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Like as an actor, I can't imagine. I'm just like, okay, now,
- 44:47Speaker 2: it's hard enough to be an actor in you have a.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Forced retirement, yeah, or you're in a new lane, you're
- 44:51Speaker 3: a new sort of character and chef, you're now the
- 44:54Speaker 3: hill pit lay. Yeah, I've like people have. I guess
- 44:58Speaker 3: you break your ankle, people of broken bones. I don't
- 45:02Speaker 3: even know how. I guess you just land too hard.
- 45:04Speaker 2: There's a lot that it just feels a lot harder
- 45:07Speaker 2: as you get older. I got an injury last year
- 45:11Speaker 2: and I just started a new job. Oh and I
- 45:13Speaker 2: couldn't move my neck. Oh, and keep in mind. I've
- 45:16Speaker 2: gone through childbirth. The worst pain I've ever been and
- 45:19Speaker 2: in my life was this neck injury. I went to
- 45:22Speaker 2: the er twice, couldn't wait in the line, oh, and
- 45:24Speaker 2: was like it took a week. I don't even really
- 45:27Speaker 2: know how it ended up getting back. But I started
- 45:30Speaker 2: this new job, so I was like in the writer's
- 45:33Speaker 2: room and then I had to be like, I have
- 45:35Speaker 2: to go. I can't move my neck. And it was
- 45:38Speaker 2: just one of those things where you start a job
- 45:40Speaker 2: and they immediately think like, well, she's not reliable, and
- 45:43Speaker 2: I'm like, I swear to go my neck. I can't.
- 45:46Speaker 2: I can't move my neck.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Did you have to wear a neck Brice?
- 45:49Speaker 2: I didn't have to, but I did.
- 45:51Speaker 3: That's a hard thing to start a job in a neck, Brice.
- 45:54Speaker 2: I did it for fun, okay, yeah? And I had
- 45:57Speaker 2: to get driven to work. It was like, yeah, it
- 46:00Speaker 2: was bad.
- 46:01Speaker 3: How did you injure your neck?
- 46:02Speaker 2: It was from basketball. This girl's like playing really aggressively.
- 46:05Speaker 3: I hate this person, I know, and I was like,
- 46:07Speaker 3: and I kept telling you.
- 46:09Speaker 2: Stop bumping into me. Like she's probably like fifteen years
- 46:13Speaker 2: younger than me though, and she's just a.
- 46:14Speaker 3: Bully stand classic bully behavior. Oh, she's going to injure
- 46:19Speaker 3: more people. Yeah, someone's got to stop her. I'm going
- 46:22Speaker 3: to find her.
- 46:23Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 46:25Speaker 3: That'll be the last shot of your documentary, the serving
- 46:31Speaker 3: her papers for your lawsuit. I'm happy to let me
- 46:35Speaker 3: know if you need me to surve I. Yes, I
- 46:37Speaker 3: will track her down.
- 46:38Speaker 2: And this is my lawyer. I bring one ever game.
- 46:42Speaker 3: While you're sitting in the car in a neck brace,
- 46:44Speaker 3: I'm tracking her down. Well, is there anything left to
- 46:49Speaker 3: say about this T shirt? I can't believe I'm taking
- 46:51Speaker 3: I mean, do you I hope you have another at home?
- 46:53Speaker 2: I mean, I just I have so many of T
- 46:55Speaker 2: shirts like that, but I have only given it to
- 46:58Speaker 2: one person, and that's you.
- 47:00Speaker 3: Oh what an honor? Yeah, and it is now kind
- 47:02Speaker 3: of stolen valor. People are going to be like that. Yeah.
- 47:06Speaker 3: People are gonna start talking about me and saying Bridger
- 47:08Speaker 3: didn't win.
- 47:09Speaker 2: Anything, didn't win that women's league.
- 47:14Speaker 3: Yeah people, Uh, this could lead to my downfall. But
- 47:17Speaker 3: I'll wear it proudly. Maybe I'll wear this to the
- 47:19Speaker 3: gym and chill.
- 47:20Speaker 2: Off on the weights machine, and I.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Feel like this will be long on me. I won't
- 47:25Speaker 3: even have to wear shorts. I can just go to
- 47:27Speaker 3: the gym in this a pair of shoes. That'll be
- 47:30Speaker 3: a new look for me.
- 47:30Speaker 2: I imagine you go to them and I like that.
- 47:33Speaker 3: Just it's kind of like when you're eight, sleep like pajamas,
- 47:37Speaker 3: you just wear a really long T shirt and shirt.
- 47:39Speaker 3: Oh my god, that's gonna be me.
- 47:42Speaker 2: My daughter just wears she usually just wears a shirt
- 47:45Speaker 2: of ours, but she's kind of fancy and she has
- 47:47Speaker 2: to wear like she wear like eight silk collared shirt.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Like, Okay, do you feel like meeting raising a kid
- 47:58Speaker 3: in La brings us out? In them? They're just surrounded
- 48:00Speaker 3: by other fancy children, And.
- 48:02Speaker 2: I think it's rebellion against me. Oh interesting, like she
- 48:06Speaker 2: sees how I dress, huh, and she's and then like
- 48:09Speaker 2: her my wife's mom is dress is beautiful every day, okay,
- 48:14Speaker 2: And I think she sees her and she she was
- 48:16Speaker 2: like her rebellion against me is like I'm not going
- 48:19Speaker 2: to dress like I'm going to be your mother lesbian.
- 48:22Speaker 2: I'm not dressing like an LA lesbian like you.
- 48:26Speaker 3: I wonder if either of my parents' dress affected the
- 48:28Speaker 3: way I dressed. And I've got to I'm gonna get
- 48:31Speaker 3: back into that trying to think of interesting.
- 48:35Speaker 2: I think I probably dress like my dad, who is
- 48:38Speaker 2: like an ex con, and there are times where I'm
- 48:41Speaker 2: wearing like a cutoff tank top and oh interesting.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I do feel like, uh, like your parents. If
- 48:48Speaker 3: you just imagine what they wore on a vacation twenty
- 48:51Speaker 3: five to thirty years ago, that's usually what's in style. Yeah,
- 48:54Speaker 3: so you just like find some old family photos from
- 48:57Speaker 3: roughly that time period, that's what you should be wearing.
- 49:00Speaker 2: That's absolutely right. I feel like people wear that on stage.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Like I will see people and stand up doing stand
- 49:07Speaker 2: up with a Hawaiian shirt and they just look like
- 49:10Speaker 2: they're on vacation.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Yes, I think it's a safe rule of clothing. Just
- 49:15Speaker 3: find a picture from what would it be at this point.
- 49:17Speaker 3: I guess it would be like ninety five to two thousand. Yeah,
- 49:21Speaker 3: well we're mom and dad wearing.
- 49:22Speaker 2: I don't want those puffy shorts to come back though,
- 49:25Speaker 2: that women would wear. They were like khaki shorts that
- 49:28Speaker 2: kind of went down to your knees and then there
- 49:29Speaker 2: was a big puff right here, and then there was
- 49:32Speaker 2: a skinny belt and my mom used to wear those.
- 49:37Speaker 3: It's unbelievable that anybody ever thought this is the way
- 49:40Speaker 3: we should go fashion.
- 49:41Speaker 2: No, my god, that's not where I want the puff
- 49:45Speaker 2: literally anywhere, but they are actually that puff is No
- 49:49Speaker 2: one's on board with that puff.
- 49:50Speaker 3: No, but women across the nation had it.
- 49:55Speaker 2: They had that, and then they because then the shirt
- 49:57Speaker 2: is a little bit tighter, the glasses are big.
- 50:01Speaker 3: Well, brace yourself.
- 50:03Speaker 2: But hey, my mom had five kids, so it worked.
- 50:08Speaker 3: You have four siblings, brothers or sisters. I have one brother, okay, yeah,
- 50:13Speaker 3: are you the youngest child, I.
- 50:14Speaker 2: Am the second oldest. Okay yeah?
- 50:17Speaker 3: Are the rest of your siblings good at sports?
- 50:19Speaker 2: Let me see. No, my youngest sister, Kim, she played soccer, okay,
- 50:24Speaker 2: and then maybe my middle sister would play volleyball. But
- 50:27Speaker 2: but we were not. I mean, my my youngest sister
- 50:30Speaker 2: was exceptional, but we weren't. The other kids weren't getting by.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Yeah bye.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Yeah. My brother, Oh, my brother was on the badminton team.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Okay, this is a sport I could be good at.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and he was on the they didn't have it
- 50:43Speaker 2: was the girls badminton team because they didn't have one for.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and can I ask them as your brother's sexuality,
- 50:51Speaker 3: he's gay. I was hoping for a turn. I was
- 50:56Speaker 3: hoping for a big boy.
- 50:58Speaker 2: Well, I was, I was gonna let you I was
- 51:01Speaker 2: gonna let it be known when I said he went
- 51:02Speaker 2: from badminton to be in a furry and so I
- 51:07Speaker 2: was like, I think you're gonna know.
- 51:10Speaker 3: Your brother's a furry. Yeah, that's incredible. Yeah, I've never uh,
- 51:16Speaker 3: I've never known a furry or someone. I've never been
- 51:18Speaker 3: this close to a furry before. Yes, did you watch
- 51:21Speaker 3: the evolution? Like how did this unfold?
- 51:23Speaker 1: I did?
- 51:24Speaker 3: So.
- 51:24Speaker 2: He used to be like he had so many stuffed
- 51:26Speaker 2: animals growing up.
- 51:27Speaker 5: Okay, I was like tracking, tracking, tracking, No, he was,
- 51:33Speaker 5: there's like an app okay, and you have an avatar, right,
- 51:36Speaker 5: and it kinda like I don't really know a lot
- 51:39Speaker 5: about Pokemon culture, but it kind of reminds me of
- 51:42Speaker 5: it's like.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Feels adjacent to it. Okay, sure, And so he had
- 51:45Speaker 2: his avatar and he's a dragon named Sin that's Hyanne okay,
- 51:49Speaker 2: big red dragon. And so he was that for a
- 51:53Speaker 2: long time.
- 51:53Speaker 3: Not furry, by the way. Interesting, it's a scaly creature.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 51:58Speaker 3: Sorry brother, Sorry.
- 52:00Speaker 2: But you're wrong.
- 52:01Speaker 3: Canceled cancer, removed from the furry community. So he okay,
- 52:07Speaker 3: So he was on an app with a red dragon
- 52:10Speaker 3: and it was four furries.
- 52:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a furry app. And and so you
- 52:14Speaker 2: have your avatar. And then he had that forever because
- 52:18Speaker 2: it costs a lot of money to get the suits made,
- 52:20Speaker 2: so that he finally and I want to say, it
- 52:23Speaker 2: takes a year to get it made from because you
- 52:26Speaker 2: design it with somebody. Wow, and it's sent off. It
- 52:29Speaker 2: was made in Japan.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Wow. How much does that cost?
- 52:32Speaker 2: It was at least five thousand dollars.
- 52:35Speaker 6: Wow.
- 52:36Speaker 2: And his boyfriend now husband.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Is old wolf? Okay wolf? Yeah? And does the wolf
- 52:45Speaker 3: have a name?
- 52:46Speaker 2: I forgot his name. I'm such a bad sister in law.
- 52:52Speaker 3: They must have a good sense of humor about.
- 52:54Speaker 2: This, Yeah, they do. And I've also like when I
- 52:57Speaker 2: talk about it, I asked my brother if I can
- 52:59Speaker 2: talk about.
- 53:00Speaker 3: Okay, right, Yeah, I would love if you were just
- 53:02Speaker 3: throwing him under the bus right now, just.
- 53:03Speaker 2: The more amazing. Yeah. And if I when I've said it,
- 53:07Speaker 2: like on stage, I always ask him and I go
- 53:09Speaker 2: over the joke with him because I don't want because
- 53:11Speaker 2: because I feel like furries are bullied, right, so I
- 53:14Speaker 2: don't want to be just another person bullying without permission.
- 53:20Speaker 3: You will ask the victim first. Yes, yeah, wow, And
- 53:26Speaker 3: do you know how he landed on the dragon or so?
- 53:29Speaker 3: I have so many questions and I don't even know
- 53:31Speaker 3: where to begin.
- 53:32Speaker 2: So but sorry, I just kind of threw this out
- 53:35Speaker 2: like it's a incredible refurry.
- 53:37Speaker 3: I could have just gotten into badminton and now we've
- 53:39Speaker 3: got this. Yeah. First of all, does he still play badminton.
- 53:44Speaker 2: I don't know if he does, but he's genuinely really good.
- 53:46Speaker 2: I played him once and it was it's scary. It
- 53:48Speaker 2: actually became kind of like tennis. It was it was.
- 53:51Speaker 3: It was no longer a safe game. Yeah, it wasn't fun, Okay,
- 53:54Speaker 3: I don't like to hear that. I like badminton to
- 53:56Speaker 3: be a safe space where kind of fluttering exactly.
- 53:59Speaker 2: I want to be a backyard game.
- 54:01Speaker 3: I want it to be a game four gay man. Yes,
- 54:07Speaker 3: but he got on the app and then they had
- 54:10Speaker 3: little red dragon avatar for him to pick, and then
- 54:12Speaker 3: he designed the costume from that.
- 54:14Speaker 2: I'm not sure if he ohoped it or if he
- 54:17Speaker 2: like designed it. I'm not sure exactly sure how that worked.
- 54:19Speaker 2: I just remember he showed me the like basically blueprints
- 54:22Speaker 2: of the design when he sent it to Japan, and
- 54:24Speaker 2: then he sent me photos of it being made.
- 54:26Speaker 3: Wow. Yeah, And as I assume it's an impressive costume,
- 54:30Speaker 3: it is, it is impressed.
- 54:32Speaker 2: I'm not sure how like when he travels, I think
- 54:35Speaker 2: he so he has a special suitcase for the head, right,
- 54:39Speaker 2: and how we tried to do it with the straightcase.
- 54:43Speaker 2: It's literally impossible.
- 54:44Speaker 3: Did the suitcase have to be custom made?
- 54:46Speaker 2: I think it's like he bought it. It's like a
- 54:48Speaker 2: special dragon. It's like remember those big hat boxes. Yeah,
- 54:53Speaker 2: it's like that.
- 54:54Speaker 3: It's kind of that.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I love you, brother, He's really sweet.
- 55:00Speaker 3: Did he kind of have to come out as a
- 55:01Speaker 3: furry to you?
- 55:02Speaker 2: I kind of knew he was living with me when
- 55:04Speaker 2: he was doing that, And we watched MTV True Life
- 55:08Speaker 2: I'm a Furry, Oh when it came out, and we
- 55:10Speaker 2: used to always like someone would someone said in it,
- 55:15Speaker 2: I'm a furry, and so we always like like when
- 55:18Speaker 2: we would answer the phone, we'd always be like, I'm
- 55:20Speaker 2: a furry. And so I guess it started as us
- 55:24Speaker 2: bullying True Life, and then he actually got into it.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Great. Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen an episode
- 55:31Speaker 3: of True Life, and every one of them sounds amazing Yeah,
- 55:35Speaker 3: where do I find those? They must be streaming somewhere.
- 55:38Speaker 2: I think that should bring that show back. It was
- 55:39Speaker 2: pretty incredible.
- 55:40Speaker 3: Yeah, after they're airing The Curious Case in Natalie Grace. Yeah, cancel.
- 55:44Speaker 2: It's basically day in the Life, you know sort of thing.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Oh, I'm that's what I'm going to start watching. I
- 55:50Speaker 3: need something to watch on TV.
- 55:52Speaker 6: You can watch it on Paramount Plus.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Episodes are old. I think they're all. There was only
- 55:57Speaker 2: three seasons. I felt like it went on forever though.
- 55:59Speaker 3: When it on three seasons, probably about fifty episodes each.
- 56:03Speaker 3: I assume maybe I'll sign up for Paramount Plus for
- 56:06Speaker 3: a week for you should for this.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it'll take just one one week for three seasons.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Wow, I'm really excited for your brother. Then is there
- 56:17Speaker 3: anything in his future where he'll stop being a dragon?
- 56:20Speaker 2: Maybe if he wins the lottery and he can get
- 56:22Speaker 2: another it's just more of a cost Yeah, I'm trying
- 56:25Speaker 2: to make it big in Hollywood so that I can
- 56:27Speaker 2: get him a new costume.
- 56:29Speaker 3: Oh that's very sweet.
- 56:30Speaker 2: Yeah, instead of like buying my family house, I really
- 56:33Speaker 2: just want to get him another animal.
- 56:34Speaker 3: Have a custom made, yeah costume. Would you get to
- 56:38Speaker 3: pick the costume over course, Yeah, what would you pick?
- 56:42Speaker 2: Not a fox because I've been told that foxes are slutty.
- 56:47Speaker 3: He's a married man, now right, yeah right, you don't
- 56:50Speaker 3: want to ruin the marriage?
- 56:51Speaker 2: Should we do? Yeah? I mean, oh, I feel like
- 56:54Speaker 2: a bunny would be. I've seen a bunny, and I'm like,
- 56:59Speaker 2: the bunnies are kind of fun.
- 57:00Speaker 3: Bunny also feels like I could get into some slutty territory.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Yeah, but also you could be the easter bunny at
- 57:06Speaker 2: the mall if they oh, it's like a plan b
- 57:10Speaker 2: it's your safety Yeah, it's your safety net.
- 57:13Speaker 3: Just throw a vest on it and give it a
- 57:15Speaker 3: pocket watch. Kids can sit on its lap.
- 57:19Speaker 2: What is it with rabbits and pocket watches? Get an
- 57:22Speaker 2: Apple watch.
- 57:25Speaker 3: They're busy, busy, busy. Do they still do rabbits at
- 57:28Speaker 3: the mall? Interesting?
- 57:30Speaker 2: Yes, they do, because they do. They do it the Americana.
- 57:33Speaker 3: Okay, they must be better than when I was a kid.
- 57:37Speaker 2: They're still weird.
- 57:38Speaker 3: It's a hard costume to make, it is and they it's.
- 57:42Speaker 2: Usually a white bunny, right, which is number one wrong?
- 57:46Speaker 2: And their feet are always so dirty because it's wealthy.
- 57:51Speaker 3: There's no way to keep those cleany.
- 57:52Speaker 2: I know I feel bad for them, but I'm just like,
- 57:54Speaker 2: this is disgusting.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Just put boots on them or something.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Shield your eyes, daughter.
- 58:00Speaker 3: Although I guess if you put boots on a rabbit,
- 58:02Speaker 3: then it starts to look sexy and then it's like
- 58:05Speaker 3: we're sending the real Yeahjessica, rabbit, did you believe in
- 58:11Speaker 3: the I did, but for a shorter period of time
- 58:15Speaker 3: than Santa Claus.
- 58:16Speaker 2: It's completely unbelievable that a life size rabbit would be.
- 58:20Speaker 3: It's a hard one to like keep that fantasy alive.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Santa Claus sure, just an old man. Even the Tooth Fairy.
- 58:29Speaker 3: It seems like kind of a humanoid creature. The rabbit,
- 58:33Speaker 3: It's like, I've never seen anything resembling this. What could
- 58:37Speaker 3: its motive be? Where is We never really found out
- 58:41Speaker 3: where it was coming from?
- 58:42Speaker 2: Yeah, where does it live?
- 58:44Speaker 3: That feels like an easy detail to nail down for parents.
- 58:47Speaker 2: It's like exactly, I mean, there's in the mouth pole
- 58:50Speaker 2: is the meadow Montana? If you told me, can I
- 58:58Speaker 2: tell you? Can I tell you a big piece the
- 59:00Speaker 2: news that happened today.
- 59:01Speaker 3: I would love it's on subject.
- 59:03Speaker 2: My daughter, who is five, lost her tooth, her first
- 59:08Speaker 2: tooth this morning.
- 59:10Speaker 3: So what's the plan moving forward?
- 59:11Speaker 2: Her tooth fairy was, Yeah, well, first of all, with Santa,
- 59:14Speaker 2: we never we never like talked about it, only out
- 59:19Speaker 2: of like laziness, and so she doesn't really care about it,
- 59:23Speaker 2: so she doesn't really asked a lot of questions, okay,
- 59:26Speaker 2: And so I'm like, well, I feel like, I don't know,
- 59:29Speaker 2: it feels weird now that she's five to all of
- 59:31Speaker 2: a sudden and be like, no, there's a man that
- 59:34Speaker 2: comes into our house and gives you presents.
- 59:36Speaker 3: You know, yeah, you kind of have to let like
- 59:37Speaker 3: the frog boil in that situations.
- 59:40Speaker 2: They have to believe it. Young. Yeah, we didn't ask
- 59:43Speaker 2: any questions, and so we were just like, never said anything.
- 59:48Speaker 3: So does Santa come at Christmas?
- 59:50Speaker 2: Like this year we put some gifts that said from Santa,
- 59:53Speaker 2: but like she never asked one question. She's psychological effect,
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: it really is. She's going to be so confused, tell
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: me anything. They're like, it never came up.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: So the tooth fairy, now you have to decide.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: So the tooth fairy, I'm trying to figure out what
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: people do because a dollar just seems like who cares.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: That's the other thing where like as a kid, I
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: would have been like a quarter seems like a lot
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: of money.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and you used cash, you went down to seven
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: to eleven and you could get a slurpy or whatever.
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: But now what does that mean?
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: We asked her what she wants, Oh, no, classic, and
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: she said a chocolate coin. Oh, like we can do that.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: Yeah, that's probably more valuable than an actual coin.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Yeah, And I don't know what to give her under
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: her pillow that would make it exciting for her, right
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: because this is an only child who gets whatever she wants.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Anyway, nothing's going to be impressive.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Nothing is impressive unless we have, you know, a writing job.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Right exactly, I guess. And then I feel like with
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: the Tooth Fairy, it always like kind of peters out,
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: like there's a few teeth get lost and a little
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: bit of money is given, and then the parent's like, okay,
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: do you.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Know why it happens all at once where Christmas is
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: spread out so interesting? Right, and she's like, losing your
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: teeth all within like a year and a half or.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Happens pretty quickly, right, which is also terrifying to think about.
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: Yeah, imagine it's like things, Yeah, it is actually and if.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: Nobody prepared you for that, you'd be like, what is
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: happening to my body? I'm dying.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: I thought she had a seed cut stuck in her
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: mouth and then realize there's another tooth that was coming
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: and it and.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: Yeah, what's happening in the mouth is just a horrifying
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: mystery to everyone.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: It's disgusting. I remember, it feels like, you know, they
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: get their teeth, it's a huge ordeal. It's so painful
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: for them. And then the next thing you know, they're
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: falling out and you're like, god, I hope it doesn't
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: fall in the tub, Like, I hope we have the tooth.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: And then my wife told me this morning, I'm keeping
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: the teeth, and I'm like, you're collecting the teeth. You're
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: going to be one of those people collecting the teeth.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Yes, most a lot of parents collect at least a
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: few of the teeth. Right.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: I feel really emotional that she lost her tooth, But
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: there's no way in hell and I'm collecting those teeth because.
- 1:02:15Speaker 3: It's like one step away from collecting their hair.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just like you collecting their dental.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: Gross little thing. Yeah, when did you stop believing in
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: Santa Claus.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: Third grade. My mom was sick and she was just
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: like had the flu and she didn't have time to
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: wrap any of the presents. And her handwriting is it's
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: so her. And so I saw that, and so I
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: went in the basement when she was doing laundry and
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: I was like, Santa Claus isn't real? Wow, And we
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: made a really scary bassment. So and then you know
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: what she told me.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: I'll never forget.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: She said, don't tell Mikayla. Mikayla is my older sister. Oh,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: all of a sudden, I had power.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: How much older is Mikaela? Ten years older?
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Yeah? When did you find out?
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Third grade? I didn't put it together. I feel so
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: jealous of you. No, Christopher Gibbs told me in class,
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: what did he say? Santa's not real? And I don't
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: think I was really that broken up about it. I
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: think I was still skeptical. I think there was still
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: like I don't know if this is entirely true, but
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: it did like it cracked the case open a little bit.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: And then I started putting things together. And then my
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: older brothers were like started hinting about it. Eventually, I
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: think the final step I took was on my Christmas list.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: I thought, well, I'll ask for a bag of magic,
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: and if Santa's real, of course he can give it
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: to me. But my parents will not be giving that.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: I didn't get it. Case closed. My parents are fools.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Back of magic been it could have been another year.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: It could have been joy for you. I had to
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: ruin it for there's there's basically an industry that is
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: built around keeping Santa's secret, because even when you watch
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: the children's movies, it's like the adults are like, well,
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: if you don't believe in Santa, Like, well, your mom
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: doesn't believe in Santa, and that's why they always have
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: these like it's ruining herlines.
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: Yeah, she's absolutely losing it because she doesn't believe in
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: Santa Claus. I have friends now. I think this might
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: be a more modern thing where they let their's kids
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: believe in Santa, but any good gift that the child
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: receives is from the parents, not Santa. Yeah, so the
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: child learns these are the people I can count on, right,
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: not some made up thing.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean I can't wait to tell her. I
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: can't wait for her to come to me and be
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: like wait.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: What is this?
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: What is it gonna tell her in the middle of
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: a fight.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Yeah, guess what my mom she when my mom found
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: out Santa Claus wasn't real her basically she was too
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: old and her mom had to tell her. She was
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: in fifth or sixth grade.
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: Okay, so your sister takes after her.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: Yeah, naive and uh And her mom said, Santa Claus
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: isn't real And she said does I mean the Easter
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: money is a real?
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Too good for her for it together pretty quickly, Like you,
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: any is usually the first one to go. You should
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: check in with your mom about what she still believes. Yeah,
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: might surprise you. Well, I think we should play a game.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: We're gonna play a game called Gift he a Curse.
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: I need a number between one and ten from you four. Okay,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: I have to do some light calculating to get our
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: game pieces. Right now. You can promote, recommend, do whatever
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: you want.
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: I'll be okay, okay, promote. See. Oh, I'm watching the
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: SNL documentary. I don't want to promote that though they
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: never hired me. Don't watch that. If you guys want
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: to watch me, I have a special out on Hulu.
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: It's called dad jokes where I go and I try
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: to find my dad after not seeing him for twenty years,
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: And you gotta watch it to believe it. What happened
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: at the end.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: That's a way better documentary recommendation than the first one.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: That one actually has something to do with you.
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: My guys, watch this is no documentary.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: Everyone go watch Mode's documentary. Fantastic. It's such a great idea.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: Yeah, someone had to.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: Somebody had to.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Someone in my family had to.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: My brother were a competing You all pitched on this
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: documentary one. Okay, this is how we play. Do I
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: have anything to recommend? I never recommend anything anymore, and
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: now that I've brought it up, I feel like I
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: have to recommend something. Is there a song I've heard
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: recently that I really liked? I'm actually gonna look at Spotify.
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: I feel like I've opened a door here.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: Do you listen to new music? Are you going to
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: recommend something?
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: What should I do? Old or new?
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: Something new? Because I don't know.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: I mean, okay, let me see the newest thing I've
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: listened to. Okay, I've never known how to pronounce this
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: guy's last name. He used to be in the band
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: The Walkman, Hamilton, Lighthouser, Laththauser. He has a song called
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Knocking Heart that is unbelievable.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: Is it a country song?
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: It's kind of like a garage it's a love song.
- 1:07:29Speaker 3: Oh it's so good. Okay, that's a good one to recommend.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: I liked dragging you into that.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, I like I mean, I won't remember that.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: Do you like country music?
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: I don't like music I was listening to. I wanted
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: to see what why everyone was listening to Chris Stapleton.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: So I've been listening to that and did you find
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: out why?
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it's like it's nice, Okay, is it
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: like it's country, but it's not like country country.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: It's not like radio music country. Yeah, it's more.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not like the stories aren't extremely basic, like
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: not like Toby Keith. Yeah, it's not like I don't know,
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: I gotta get out of the city. It's always like
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: I got to get out of the city. So I
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: lived in the city for a little while. I got
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: to get out of there. I got to get back
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: to my roots. I gotta lives. Stop sign in the town.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Single confusing stuffs.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: And they're obsessed with like getting back together with their
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: high school girlfriends.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Yeah, always such a red flag. Yeah, she's in such things.
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: She's got this guy that is obsessed with her now
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: singing about it publicly.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Yeah, he's just behind her. She's had her kid's game.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: He's got his acoustic guitar.
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: Every mainstream country singer is a stalker and should uh,
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: somebody needs to look into that. Okay, this is how
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: we play Gift for a course. I'm going to name
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: three things. You'll tell me if they're a game or
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: a curse and why. Okay, and then I'll tell you
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: if you're right or wrong, because there are correct answers
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: and you can lose huge great love to all right.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Number one, this is a listener suggestion. The listener is
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: an interesting one. It's called Mad Scoops ice Cream, some
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: sort of ice cream business that listens to the podcast.
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: So now they've gotten free advertising it. God knows where
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: they exist. I hope it's good ice cream, that's all
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: I'll say. They listen to the podcast, so it must
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: be wonderful. Okay. Gift or a curse? When people say
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: protein when a bug lands in your drink and slash
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: or food curse, why that's disgusting.
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: That's like, I mean, if I feel like that'd be
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: like if a hair where in your food and you're
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: just like, it's it's a gift, Like it just feels
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: like a lie. Like you're just saying something bad happened
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: to you and you just want to rebrand it. And
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: sometimes it's just bad.
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: Correct. Oh, that's a curse. That's uh, I mean, in
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: my opinion, that's First of all, that's seems really irritating.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: Don't mind your own business. Second of all, that bug
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: is a person. That bug has a life. It's I
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: think it's just there for a little bite or a
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: little sip, and now you're turning it into food.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: That's empathetic.
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Yes, I'm an EmPATH ultimately, I feel for everything, and
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: it's paralyzing. I think that's a curse. Leave the bug alone,
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: Leave the person who may or may not consume the
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: bug alone. Keep your eyes on your own paper or
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: your own food or drink.
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: If you were on a first date and they ate
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: the bug that landed in their food, and you're just gonna.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: Be like, oh, yeah, what does that say for the
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: rest of the relationship. But also if you're on a
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: first date and a bug lands on your food and
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: your date says protein.
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: Yeah, also a problem.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a lose lose.
- 1:10:54Speaker 2: I can't even imagine.
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: I think the clearest path forward there is to say
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: there's a bug in your food, and I'm sorry, right,
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: I know what you're going through. If there's anything I
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: can do to help, let me know, I'll be eating
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: my food.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: What if they touch your food to get the bug out.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: That's a huge line cross. I'd rather eat the bug
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: than whatever their fingers touched. Who knows where those fingers
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: have been. Yeah, I mean, God knows the last time
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: they washed their hands. The bug is probably cleaner. You know,
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: this bug is just out to dinner.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, this is a fancy bug.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: Yeah, probably in their finest clothes. They took a shower
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: before going leaves the bug alone. Curse. Okay, you've gotten
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: one right so far. Number two. This is one. This
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: listener knows my heart in some ways. A listener named
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: Keith has suggested gift her a curse crumble cookies. Are
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: you familiar with these?
- 1:11:46Speaker 6: Yes?
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: I am.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it feels like a bit of both
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: because it's so exciting the first time, But it does
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: be Okay, I'm gonna say curse because don't they come
- 1:11:59Speaker 2: in a.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: Box four It's a good question.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: It feels like impossible to finish them. And I can't
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: let cookies just sit on that. It's a curse to me.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: It's a curse to me in my body, in my mind.
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: You get the point this is. I have different reasoning here.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: This is maybe the most passionate thing, the thing I'm
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: most passionate about. I might run for office on this issue.
- 1:12:24Speaker 3: I think crumble cookies and God bless us all are horrible.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: I think it is the worst type of cookie you
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: can eat. I think that it's a scam. I think
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: they're truly. Pick any cookie in the world. It'll be
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: a better cookie. Go buy a bag of Oreos. It's
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: a better cookie than this. These are made to take
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: a picture of I cannot and I loved ones. Friend's
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: family have sent them to me. They eat them, they
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: think they enjoy them. They are plato.
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: M h.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: Buy let's see, let's buy some eggs, butter, flour, sugar,
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: maybe brown sugar. You can you can do the whatever,
- 1:13:00Speaker 3: vanilla chocolate chips. You could probably buy that much stuff
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: for how much for Krumble cookies cost disgusting. Yeah, go
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: buy some cookies at Alberson's, buy the toll House refrigerated
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: ones and bake them. This will all be cheaper and
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: it's better than Krumble cookies. I'm gonna take this company down.
- 1:13:19Speaker 3: I cannot believe how popular these things are. They're not good.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: I agree, They're just like a sweet paste that look nice.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: They go too far. They're like creative room that came
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: up with all the different flavors. Go too far, and
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: it becomes if a cookie is that heavy, Like when
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: is it too heavy?
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: When does it become like a weird little is it
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: a cake? Wet cake? And then it's not satisfying what
- 1:13:43Speaker 3: you want from a cake. Right, So it's now just
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: this thing you bought at them all.
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: You also can't eat it with your hands, really, you know,
- 1:13:50Speaker 2: it's a mess. It's in the middle, right right.
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: There are a lot of problems. And I also I
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: think it's from Utah, which again hits close to home home.
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: Utah's Mormons are pretty good at making cookies.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: So you want to be the only person from Utah
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: that's famous.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Yes, that's kind of the root cause of my problem. Uh,
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: no crumble cookies are our curse and Keith, thank you
- 1:14:14Speaker 3: for finally bringing this to everyone's attention. What an important
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: issue and more people need to be talking about how
- 1:14:20Speaker 3: horrible they are and if anyone wants a recipe or anything,
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: reach out or also just go literally buy chips. Ahoy,
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: it is more satisfying nutter butter. I mean I could
- 1:14:29Speaker 3: go on and on. Now I'm out of control. Okay,
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: you've gone two out of two so far. You're over.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: You're over telling people to eat Nutter butters. Where have
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: we gone in this podcast that if Nutter butters are
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: good at.
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: All, Nutter butters are delicious.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: No, they barely tastes like peanut butter anymore.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: I don't know if they changed the recipe.
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: I just once you have it as an adult, trust me,
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: it's underwhelming. And so is the like the peanut butter
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: cookie from Girl Scouts that all peanut butter one.
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: Oh, I'd be curious about that one.
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: Recently, you know what, they ripped it off from Nutter butter.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: I'll say it.
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: I feel like the Girl's Scout peanut butter is actually
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: more up my alley because it's more it's less sweet
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: it's more like an oatmeal.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the cookie is wrong. I'd rather have
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: the one that's chocolate, the peanut butter patty.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: I think that one's bad. That one is like that
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: is starting to approach crumble territory, where it's like it's
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: advertises this thing, but it's not really those things. It's
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: like not real chocolate. It's like not real peanut butter.
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: It looks in a pear peanut butter. I don't think. So,
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: everyone do your work. The only Girl Scout cookie I
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: think that's remained the same is the thin.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: Mint thin mint. And you know what, the short bread one.
- 1:15:39Speaker 3: Oh, that makes sense.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: It's good.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: That makes sense. You can't really do anything to short
- 1:15:42Speaker 3: bread other than keep putting butter and sugar together. The
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: thin mint, I will say this, the thin mint is
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: one of the few things that has remained the same
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: over decades. Yeah, it tastes. I think it tastes the
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: same now as it did in nineteen ninety three.
- 1:15:57Speaker 2: Yeah, neighborhoods change, you know, people get older. The thin
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: mint stays the same.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: You can always count on the thin Okay, two out
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: of two so far. Number three. This is from a
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: listener named Cali gift to a curse a drive through
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: that doesn't have a trash can to throw out old
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: drinks prior to getting a new one.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: Okay, here's why it's a gift to me. Okay, you
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: need to clean out your car right when you get
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: to your house. And it's basically trying to teach you
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: a lesson to don't go. You cannot go to a
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: drive through if you already have stuff from the cups
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: in your car. You need to You need to take
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: a break and just go to your house empty every night.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: I trust me, We live in our cars here and
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: I have to clean out my car basically every night,
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: and you do it at your house. But it's a
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: red flag on yourself if you've got too much garbage
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: in there and you're wanting more garbage.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: Whoa, you win the game.
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: Really, this is my exact reasoning. This is about personal responsibility.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: Drive through is not your maid. The drive through is
- 1:17:02Speaker 3: not your personal dumps or they don't owe you a
- 1:17:05Speaker 3: garbage can. They owe you the drink you paid for.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: And if I see a garbage can, like where what
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: is it? Where is that in the placement of the
- 1:17:15Speaker 3: drive through. It's getting confusing, you're reaching out the window
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: or there's garbage flowing out of it.
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: Have you ever seen one of those without garbage flowing
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: out of it? No?
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's the last thing the employees think about.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: It's got to be impossible to clean those, the ones
- 1:17:28Speaker 2: that have the little shoot.
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: Yeah, how do you get into that thing? You probably
- 1:17:31Speaker 3: have to have a lock and key or something, password
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: or something, and they're usually made out of that weird
- 1:17:37Speaker 3: gravel rock and they're like they're probably each weigh a
- 1:17:39Speaker 3: thousand pounds. I'm sure there's an animal living in every
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: one of those. Those things are a curse. Nobody owes
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: you place it. Throw away your old drink. Get control
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: of your life. I have a car garbage can. Not
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: to brag. I got it on this podcast and it's
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: changed my life. That's what you need to do is
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: get your little car garbage can going, and then if
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: you don't want to throw it out every time, once
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: a week, you just empty your garbage can.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: If you have a kid and she's not in there,
- 1:18:07Speaker 2: I always throw shit in her car seat that it
- 1:18:12Speaker 2: doesn't right.
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: That's a perfect kind of garbage can carries children and garbage.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: That's how they should advertise those. Once your child has
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: outgrown it, it's now just a trash can.
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: It's perfect.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: Well, congratulations on winning the game.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: Thank you very well played.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: Honalis. Do you have your gift or a curse?
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: I do?
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: What is it? Today? Honally is now going to present
- 1:18:34Speaker 3: a topic that we both have to answer to, and
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: then Honalis will tell us whether we're a ride or round.
- 1:18:38Speaker 6: Okay, it's really just a quality check being the first
- 1:18:42Speaker 6: person to clap in an event.
- 1:18:45Speaker 3: Do you want to go? Or should I go?
- 1:18:47Speaker 5: You go?
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: Okay? I think that that is a gift, and this is,
- 1:18:53Speaker 3: you know, largely about being a leader, not a follower.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: You're making your decision right there that you enjoyed the performance.
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: You're set the trend and if nobody else collapse, you
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: may be humiliating yourself and disrupting something, but you made
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: the choice. You took a risk, and it's going to
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: pay off huge because suddenly you're going to be surrounded
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: by applause and you're going to think I started that. Yeah,
- 1:19:15Speaker 3: I'm the clapper. What do you think?
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Curse? For all of the reasons that you just said,
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: this person wants to be on stage, they wish that
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: they could be the one that gets the applause, but
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: they go, well, what's the next best thing. I'm going
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: to start the applause and pretend like it's for me. Okay,
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: I'm going to make it about me, and it's even
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: better if nobody claps. They're the first one to stand
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: in a standing ovation.
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: I know it, curse wrong, They're the star now. Good
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: for them for taking control of their life. Leader on Elise,
- 1:19:51Speaker 3: what do you think Bridger's right?
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: It's a I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Moo, but you're just jealous.
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: All those just point to you just thinking, you know,
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: I wish I could be that brave. I wish I
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: could be the one to clap first, because that's me.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: I always every time somebody claps first, I'm thinking.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: God, I wish that was me.
- 1:20:11Speaker 6: I wish I had that confidence. And therefore it is.
- 1:20:13Speaker 6: It is a gift because it's something to aspire to.
- 1:20:17Speaker 3: Wow. Good for me, Yeah, mo, what a you really
- 1:20:20Speaker 3: fell on your face after?
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: You know, I should be buying tickets to the person
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: that's the first one to clap at an event.
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: You will be, because so once they do that, they're
- 1:20:29Speaker 3: on their way to success. And you'll be the first
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: person to clap at their big show. At their clapping show. Okay,
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: this is the final segment of the podcast. It's called
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: I Said No Emails. People write into I Said No
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Gifts at gmail dot com. They're curious, their lives are
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: a mess. They need help. They're asking all sorts of things.
- 1:20:47Speaker 3: Will you help me answer this question? Okay, this is Hello,
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Dear Bridger and the guest of the week that is you.
- 1:20:54Speaker 3: I need to break up with my boyfriend, but I
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: need to do it over the phone. I want to
- 1:20:58Speaker 3: give him a gift as a way to make up
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: for it. I know it's strange, but we just celebrated
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: our three year anniversary and I feel as though a
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: gift will tell him how much I still care about
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: him and tell him I still want him in my life,
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: but platonically instead. Giving gifts is one of my love languages.
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: Part of the problem is he's very minimalistic, and I
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: don't want to give him something that will be a burden.
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: He and I are both transgender and are endlessly excited
- 1:21:21Speaker 3: about mundane things, utilizing the colors of the trans flag.
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: I worry about giving him something too personal because I
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: don't want to give him a gaudy reminder of me.
- 1:21:30Speaker 3: It is completely reasonable to tell me a gift is inappropriate.
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: But I'm hopeful that I can find something to help
- 1:21:35Speaker 3: make this an easier breakup for him to process. Thanks,
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: And that's from Cain. Ps. The reason I need to
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: break up with him is that I'm simply not attracted
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: to him anymore. So there's a just a burn at
- 1:21:47Speaker 3: the end. That's a tough thing to hear. H fair,
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: but also probably unnecessary to put in the letter Caine.
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: This poor guy is just out now.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: I'm starrying to think of gift idea, now that I
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: have that piece of information, now that we know he's
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: an ago not in a hat, can't.
- 1:22:06Speaker 3: Fix Oh what do you think about this? I mean,
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: I think it's appropriate to give a gift. I mean
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: I think when I hear somebody doesn't want things, they're
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: minimalistic gift. A nice gift is removing yourself from their lives.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: That's great, one last thing they have to worry about.
- 1:22:27Speaker 3: That won't be the color of the trans flag, but.
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: It's a starting point, which is the color of abandonment.
- 1:22:39Speaker 3: That's a lonely color to look at. But what is
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: something else you could give? That's I mean, I'm just
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: thinking of mean things. A mirror, but Cain kind of
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: didn't give us that much to work with here. Yeah,
- 1:22:54Speaker 3: that than an insult, right, I.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: Mean, And you can never go wrong with a T
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: shirt that says I'm was stupid. I'll say that. But
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: you know you're single. It's like it feels weird to
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: give a gift that's going to help somebody else hook up.
- 1:23:11Speaker 2: But she seems like it's going to be a good
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: break up. Yeah, so maybe something single person.
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: Would like, I'm with no one.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: I'm with no one.
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: My life is empty. Yeah, don't ask me why my
- 1:23:26Speaker 3: last partner broke up with me. These are all T shirts.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: This is uh yeah, my ex bought me this gift
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: right before we broke up.
- 1:23:33Speaker 3: T shirt but we're still on good terms. That's on
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: the back.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Or maybe that's a necklace, Yeah, what a necklace. See.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: The problem with getting somebody a gift when you're breaking
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: up is you know when you look at like, every
- 1:23:46Speaker 2: time you wear this T shirt that I gave you
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: to the gym, you're gonna think about me heartache. Yeah,
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: your heartache. And so I don't wear any jewelry exes
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: gave me, and come to think of it, none of
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: them ever gave me Anny.
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: Well, you've got to reach out to them. Yeah, Hey,
- 1:24:03Speaker 3: I just notice something. I don't know if this is weird,
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: but I know it's been ten years, but I just
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: realized you didn't give me any jewelry when we broke up.
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: I have nothing to look at and think about.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: You except for all of these pictures that.
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: Are on my wall in my secret room in my house.
- 1:24:21Speaker 3: And this country song I'm writing about you. So I
- 1:24:26Speaker 3: think that those are some decent gift options.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:29Speaker 3: Maybe why not just an edible thing so he gets
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: to eat it.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: It's nice and you can forget about it.
- 1:24:34Speaker 3: I think that's perfect, right, Yeah, and then it's just
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: like you mean something to me, forget about me, enjoy
- 1:24:41Speaker 3: not this crumble cookie. Oh it's gonna don't you dare.
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: I would never just buy the toll House cookies bake them.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: They look kind of like you made them at home.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: It can't be bad. It can't be Okay, somebody's breaking
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: up with me and giving me homemade I'm like, it's poisoned.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: That's true. It's got to be wrapped individually wrapped. This
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: could be like a razor in the candy situation. Very
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: good point. So it's gotta be.
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: If they if they drink, I would say about I.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: Feel like buying somebody liquor during a breakup is a
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: tough one.
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: Trader just gift card, come on and knick go wrong.
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: That's not a bad idea. Go buy yourself something on
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: your first trip to the grocery store. But you don't
- 1:25:23Speaker 3: have to think about what I want.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: And also, Trader Joe's is great for single people.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: It's perfect, so many individual items. Everything is basically enough
- 1:25:32Speaker 3: for one person.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Say all of this in the card, everything, download the
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: transcript of.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: This podcast, just send the episode to them. I think
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: they'll be happy to hear that you're not attracted to them.
- 1:25:45Speaker 3: That'll be a fun little twist at the end for them.
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: I've never yeah, yeah, I've never given a partying gift
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: for I don't.
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: I don't know that that's a popular move.
- 1:25:58Speaker 2: Right. This feels like you got like you wouldn't be
- 1:26:01Speaker 2: friends with this person.
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, it feels like it's kind of people pleasing. Yeah,
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: it's like I think maybe what you need to do
- 1:26:08Speaker 3: is just say sorry. I don't like the way you
- 1:26:11Speaker 3: do your hair right, and I know you could change that,
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: but I've seen you with this hairstyle and there's nothing
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: I can It's gonna be a nightmare for me.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: You can also do what everyone in la is done
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: during the fires, which is just go look at your
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: closet and what garbage you want to give to people
- 1:26:28Speaker 2: displaced by fires, and just people are so back the
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: back of garbage.
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: People are just dumping things.
- 1:26:33Speaker 2: It's like, have some thought, You're like, it's like a shelf,
- 1:26:39Speaker 2: a three tier shelf with two shelves.
- 1:26:42Speaker 3: My broken ike address, or you can't open the drawers,
- 1:26:45Speaker 3: but do with it what you will.
- 1:26:46Speaker 2: And then they're posting on social media. Just dropped off
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: a donation bag, just backed.
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: Up my dump truck. Made volunteers life harder, Lord help us.
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: Everyone's trying their well, maybe not, some people are trying
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: a little harder.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Some people are really giving garbage.
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: Well, Caine, the answer, you got your answer, don't write
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: back in We answered it perfectly. Good luck with the breakup,
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: Good luck with your new friend or whatever. Hopefully you
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: two can remain friends after what you've done to him.
- 1:27:17Speaker 2: You're so good at relationship advice.
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: That's why I'm about to announce my spinoff podcast. Okay,
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: well answered the question perfectly. I now have this T
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: shirt to kind of show off around town. I'm gonna
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: be showboating everywhere I go the gym, dances, parties, wedding, badminton.
- 1:27:39Speaker 3: People will be intimidated by me. They'll be impressed, and
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: then they'll find out the truth and lose all respect
- 1:27:46Speaker 3: for Then you'll be canceled, and then I'll be canceled.
- 1:27:48Speaker 3: This is my road to cancelation.
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: Also, it's a really ugly grave, so.
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: I will say this is the worst color of T
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: shirt you can buy.
- 1:27:57Speaker 4: It is.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: It's clip art too, and you know they had the choice.
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: Very lazy department. This is it's screen printed, so they
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: could have done something decent. Yeah, they give jerseys now,
- 1:28:10Speaker 3: they give jerseys. Interesting, they're really big. Okay, of course,
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: it's always really big.
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: It looks atrocious.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: This is my This has been my lifelong battle of
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: whenever there's a free item, it's too big. Why can't
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: we occasionally have something that's too small for people?
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: Just one time, the whole team gets a small T
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: shirt and I get to go home wearing something that fits.
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: It's ridiculous. It's absolutely ridiculous. But this is I mean,
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: the T shirt itself is literally like the fashion art,
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: fashion equivalent of clip art. It is color, the sizing,
- 1:28:44Speaker 3: it's just somebody said that's the shirt, and I'm thrilled.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: I couldn't be happy with it. Well, I've had a
- 1:28:51Speaker 3: wonderful time.
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: I've had a great time. Thank you so much for
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: letting me talk with you and Irbing, You're.
- 1:28:56Speaker 3: So thank you for being here. Listen, the podcast is over.
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: I want you to remain calm. I want you to
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: take a few breaths. I want you to think about
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: what you'll do with the rest of your day and
- 1:29:08Speaker 3: make a smart decision and informed decision. Do what's best
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: for you. I'm gonna let you go. I love you, goodbye.
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: I Said No Gifts is an exactly right production. Our
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: senior producer is on Alisa Nelson, and our episodes are
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: beautifully mixed by Ben Tolliday. The theme song is by
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: miracle Worker Amy Mann, and we couldn't do it without
- 1:29:34Speaker 3: our booker, Patrick Cottner. You must follow the show on
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: Instagram at I Said No Gifts. That's where you're going
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: to see pictures of all these wonderful gifts I'm getting.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: And don't you want to see the gifts invant?
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: Did you hear?
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: Fun?
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: A man myself perfectly clear? But you're I guess, Tom,
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: you gotta come to me empty, And I said, no, guest,
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: your own presence is presents. And no, I already had
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: too much stuff.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: So how do you dare to surbey me?
