- 0:03Speaker 1: him on a handheld mic.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is a prank?
- 0:05Speaker 3: There's like a buzzing noise that is apparently going on
- 0:08Speaker 3: with that.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Dude, this is a prank. We're grinding. No prank. We're grinding. No.
- 0:14Speaker 3: This is the grittiest podcast you will be on.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Is it Grit Week?
- 0:19Speaker 1: No, it's Lunch Pail Week. We call ours Lunch Pail Week.
- 0:23Speaker 1: EMT boys do the Grit Week. We steal everything that
- 0:25Speaker 1: they do and.
- 0:26Speaker 3: Make it our own.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Don't steal that shit.
- 0:29Speaker 3: Did you go on it?
- 0:30Speaker 2: I did.
- 0:31Speaker 3: How would you think?
- 0:32Speaker 2: I had a good time. Yeah, a good time.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Big cats big on you being in prison, you being
- 0:37Speaker 1: in jail, not liking you.
- 0:38Speaker 3: How's that relationship between you guys?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Been great.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Yeah, really good. Big thanks to Caleb Presley. He kind
- 0:47Speaker 4: of put everything in motion.
- 0:49Speaker 1: So I was working out with Caleb Presley two days ago.
- 0:51Speaker 1: He wanted an accountability buddy. I was like, bro, I'm
- 0:54Speaker 1: all for it. I'm all for the accountability train. Like,
- 0:56Speaker 1: I'm chilling. You're chilling. Like, let's do this thing. And he,
- 0:59Speaker 1: this is his quote, Aaron Rodgers is the coolest dude
- 1:03Speaker 1: I've ever been around.
- 1:09Speaker 3: How do you feel about that?
- 1:10Speaker 2: He's out there. Aaron's pretty cool. He's gotten cooler over
- 1:13Speaker 2: the years. Thanks, Bob.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Did you guys hang in a Tahoe? Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 4: I had him over to the house I was renting
- 1:21Speaker 4: and we did the episode Sunday conversation, which is coming
- 1:24Speaker 4: out a couple of weeks, probably maybe three.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Or four weeks.
- 1:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 4: It's outrageous. Absolutely outrageous. And then he stuck around. He
- 1:35Speaker 4: stuck around. Him and Glenn?
- 1:38Speaker 3: Glennie Balls.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Glennie Balls, yeah. Come on now, Glennie Balls, baby. I mean,
- 1:42Speaker 2: that dude is amazing. Specimen. Slays.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Yeah. He just sits there and eats ice cream.
- 1:49Speaker 1: He's talking about how he's hanging out with, like, the
- 1:51Speaker 1: Hooters women, and they're, like, feeding him grapes and stuff
- 1:53Speaker 1: like that.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Lenny Balls is a legend.
- 1:55Speaker 5: Now he has his own, where he, does he have
- 1:56Speaker 5: his own podcast with all, like, Yeah, where he sits,
- 1:58Speaker 5: it's called Only Stands.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Porn Stars and stuff.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 3: And it's where he sits with porn stars and talks
- 2:03Speaker 3: to them, I guess.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Good for him. That's true.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, he talks to chicks with Only Fans accounts, big ones.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And he talks about, like, I guess, like, he talks
- 2:10Speaker 1: about sex and orgies and everything else.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Good for him. Good for him. He's making it. Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 3: But welcome to Bustin' with the Boys, bro.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 2:17Speaker 3: This is huge for us. I hit up my man, Rob.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I was like, well, on the last pod that just
- 2:21Speaker 1: came out this week that everybody can listen to. I
- 2:24Speaker 1: was like, you think if we got the bus to
- 2:25Speaker 1: Green Bay, like you think the boy 12 would get
- 2:27Speaker 1: on the bus? And he was like, I think so.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Rob made it happen. I really appreciate all of this
- 2:33Speaker 1: because this is, this is a big move for bus
- 2:36Speaker 1: with the boys.
- 2:39Speaker 2: We did it.
- 2:39Speaker 4: We did it guys.
- 2:40Speaker 1: We got, we got them on my first question. I
- 2:44Speaker 1: apologize for continuing to interrupt. I've had a lot of coffee.
- 2:46Speaker 1: I'm a little nervous too.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Kind of how you played most of the time yeah
- 2:54Speaker 4: bam that boy was.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Shaking in his butt the biggest rivalry the sport has
- 2:58Speaker 1: ever seen Will Compton Aaron Rodgers.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Nice post the other day too by the way really
- 3:01Speaker 4: good post the one about me and you I heard
- 3:03Speaker 4: in the fumble I was.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Wondering if you saw that I appreciate that if you
- 3:07Speaker 1: ever want to hit that username and hit the follow
- 3:09Speaker 1: button that's up to you you don't have to say
- 3:12Speaker 1: what you're gonna do on here because I don't want
- 3:13Speaker 1: my feelings hurt very early but I appreciate that man.
- 3:17Speaker 2: My first question Twitter is the new MySpace.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Why do you say that?
- 3:22Speaker 4: I just thought about that the other day, and I
- 3:24Speaker 4: was like, I like that line.
- 3:25Speaker 2: That's a good line. They had a chance.
- 3:27Speaker 4: To be on top, and now I feel like Instagram
- 3:34Speaker 4: came up, and then all these kids are on TikTok now.
- 3:38Speaker 1: See, I think Twitter still hasn't scratched the surface.
- 3:44Speaker 2: That shit shouldn't even be free, dude.
- 3:46Speaker 5: Some of the shit, the threads that go into Twitter,
- 3:48Speaker 5: like if you go dive deep into Twitter, it's the
- 3:50Speaker 5: funniest app.
- 3:51Speaker 2: You disagree.
- 3:55Speaker 1: No.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I think Twitter is the funniest app.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Deep. Yeah, but see, again, we're like working on Aaron's humor, too.
- 4:02Speaker 2: He's got humor? No, we're just getting funnier.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Oh, we're trying to get him funnier.
- 4:06Speaker 1: You don't think Twitter's the funniest app out there?
- 4:11Speaker 2: No, I don't. What do you think is more funny?
- 4:14Speaker 2: I think Instagram is funnier. Like the memes? But that's
- 4:18Speaker 2: where they get their memes from. The harmony.
- 4:22Speaker 1: But, bro, you would never saw my clip and my
- 4:24Speaker 1: caption had it not been on Twitter. And only something
- 4:27Speaker 1: like that plays on Twitter. Like, you're not going to
- 4:28Speaker 1: scroll and see my Instagram post.
- 4:30Speaker 3: No, probably not.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Yeah, like, look what Will posted on Instagram. Like, you
- 4:36Speaker 1: see Twitter go off, you kind of hit it because
- 4:38Speaker 1: you want to see some of the comments and the
- 4:39Speaker 1: funnies that follow it.
- 4:40Speaker 2: But it's turning into the MySpace, though.
- 4:43Speaker 3: It is.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:44Speaker 3: We can agree to disagree.
- 4:45Speaker 4: You still think Facebook is still rocking it?
- 4:49Speaker 3: No, I think Facebook is awful.
- 4:51Speaker 5: It's for 50-year-old, 60-year-old women who still check in on
- 4:54Speaker 5: like 20, 30-year-old.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Like people who comment.
- 5:00Speaker 2: You know a lot of those type of people?
- 5:02Speaker 1: People who comment a lot on like errands, like whether
- 5:05Speaker 1: it's games, stuff off the field.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Like those are people who live on Facebook.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Really?
- 5:09Speaker 3: I think so.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 3: More of like the white collar, like the older people,
- 5:12Speaker 3: the older generation.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:14Speaker 4: I like the blue collar, gritty folks. What app are
- 5:17Speaker 4: they on?
- 5:18Speaker 3: They're on Bustin' with the Boys.
- 5:19Speaker 2: They're right here.
- 5:20Speaker 3: That's what they're on.
- 5:21Speaker 2: This is this.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 3: My first question, man.
- 5:23Speaker 2: A little warm.
- 5:24Speaker 1: It is a little warm. It's a little toasty. Is
- 5:28Speaker 1: ayahuasca the key to success?
- 5:31Speaker 4: Question man are you asking a serious question you want
- 5:34Speaker 4: a serious.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Response it's like i like that fun you've got.
- 5:36Speaker 2: To be in a jackass you think it's like.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I'm sitting here because i listened to your podcast with
- 5:40Speaker 1: aubrey marcus by the way i thought it was phenomenal
- 5:42Speaker 1: taking a deep dive into you you're very like open
- 5:45Speaker 1: and transparent like the whole controlling the narrative thing like
- 5:48Speaker 1: juices me up because that's why i like love doing
- 5:50Speaker 1: this shit because people talk freely and kind of it's
- 5:52Speaker 1: the people behind the helmet you get to know them
- 5:54Speaker 1: more had you not really all you see them as
- 5:57Speaker 1: is what articles are written on them out there and
- 5:59Speaker 1: everybody else commenting We don't say enough because we want
- 6:02Speaker 1: to keep our helmet on and appease everybody inside the
- 6:05Speaker 1: building because it's not about us. But I really appreciated
- 6:09Speaker 1: that episode. I asked that in fun. The serious part,
- 6:13Speaker 1: you can go listen to that episode because you obviously
- 6:15Speaker 1: talk openly about your trips, your fucking, all your little
- 6:20Speaker 1: rides that seem very interesting. You're getting emotional. I'm getting
- 6:24Speaker 1: emotional listening to it. And I'm wondering if I get
- 6:26Speaker 1: on this ride, Am I going to have year 10?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Am I going to put together back-to-back MVP seasons? Because
- 6:33Speaker 1: that's what the narrative is getting painted as now, that
- 6:34Speaker 1: Ayahuasca is the reason you've won back-to-back MVPs.
- 6:41Speaker 4: They're going to run with whatever narrative they want. I
- 6:43Speaker 4: think there's a lot to unpack in that question based
- 6:47Speaker 4: on some of the things that I have seen about it.
- 6:49Speaker 2: But look, it's my experience.
- 6:51Speaker 4: I speak for myself, and I had a fantastic experience
- 6:54Speaker 4: both times, the first time I did in Peru and
- 6:56Speaker 4: the second time down in Central America. Very thankful for
- 7:03Speaker 4: the lessons that I learned on that. But classic, this culture,
- 7:08Speaker 4: you know, if you can't monetize it, then they're going
- 7:11Speaker 4: to demonize it. And ayahuasca, I've seen some crazy headlines about,
- 7:17Speaker 4: you know, psychedelic drug.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Right. It's a plant, number one. It's just a plant, dude.
- 7:25Speaker 4: It's been used for generation after generation after generation in
- 7:30Speaker 4: Central and South America. And so as far as research goes, yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 4: there's thousands of years of research around using this plant
- 7:41Speaker 4: in medicinal ceremony. And there's a lot of benefits to it.
- 7:47Speaker 4: For me, it was like I talked about, you can
- 7:49Speaker 4: go listen to the podcast, but it was two really
- 7:52Speaker 4: deeply meaningful experiences. But You know, if you're not into it,
- 7:55Speaker 4: that's fine. But projecting your own opinion onto something without
- 8:01Speaker 4: understanding what it is doesn't advance any conversation further. And
- 8:06Speaker 4: there's a lot of research around a number of different
- 8:08Speaker 4: things labeled as drugs, like psilocybin, which is mushrooms, which
- 8:14Speaker 4: is a fungi, and the demonization of marijuana that's gone
- 8:18Speaker 4: back to, you know, the 1800s, really. um, and hemp
- 8:24Speaker 4: and the war against hemp. There's a great book about that. Um,
- 8:27Speaker 4: you know, I think that's what people who want to
- 8:30Speaker 4: monetize health have done to many things that are plants
- 8:36Speaker 4: that actually have incredible healing properties.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Look at the Chinese.
- 8:39Speaker 4: They've been using herbs for thousands and thousands of years
- 8:43Speaker 4: and I'm rambling now, but the point is there are
- 8:46Speaker 4: like real substances, plants, you know, herbs, uh, fungi that
- 8:54Speaker 4: have been healing people for a long time. And then
- 8:56Speaker 4: there's pharmaceutical stuff, which some is very, you know, important
- 9:02Speaker 4: and it helps people with certain specific causes, but, uh,
- 9:07Speaker 4: there's also an industrial complex that really wants to make
- 9:11Speaker 4: money off of health.
- 9:13Speaker 2: So when you, we've talked about this, but I'm just
- 9:15Speaker 2: kind of asking questions. Yeah, that's good.
- 9:19Speaker 3: He's fired up. I know he's, he's, he's your game
- 9:21Speaker 3: ready right now.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 5: So I just kind of asking questions for Will to
- 9:25Speaker 5: kind of hear it out. Cause we've, we've talked about
- 9:27Speaker 5: your trips and experiences and, uh, your visits to these countries,
- 9:33Speaker 5: but for like him, who doesn't know, like what goes
- 9:37Speaker 5: about that? Like when you drink it and like, how
- 9:39Speaker 5: long is the experience? What do you do? What is the,
- 9:44Speaker 5: I don't want to say vibe because it's obviously more
- 9:47Speaker 5: important than like intent.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Oh, we're pro vibes on this bus, brother.
- 9:53Speaker 2: I appreciate that.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Yeah. I dispelled again. I talk a lot about this
- 9:58Speaker 4: in the podcast, the short version. is, uh, it's in
- 10:04Speaker 4: some sort of, um, you know, ceremonial environment. So some,
- 10:07Speaker 4: you know, yurt or a tent or, uh, Maloka, like.
- 10:10Speaker 5: In the, like in a jungle or like in Central America,
- 10:13Speaker 5: we're in a jungle.
- 10:14Speaker 4: Um, there was, you know, it was a week long thing.
- 10:18Speaker 4: There was 22 people on the trip. There was, you know,
- 10:20Speaker 4: eight facilitators at the, at the, uh, the center, uh,
- 10:25Speaker 4: the shaman, you know, obviously comes in and there's a
- 10:29Speaker 4: specific diet that you eat. There's three nights of sitting
- 10:33Speaker 4: with the medicine and then a day off in between
- 10:36Speaker 4: where there's integration, there's conversation around your experience. Um, but
- 10:40Speaker 4: even way before that, there's, you know, talks about your
- 10:43Speaker 4: fears around it, uh, the expectations of it. Um, So
- 10:48Speaker 4: you feel really, really confident. You go into it with, like,
- 10:51Speaker 4: the mindset of what you're trying to get out of it.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Totally, yeah. So it's not just, like, you're just thrown
- 10:55Speaker 2: into it. No, no, no, no.
- 10:56Speaker 4: It's very intentional. So you go in with an intention,
- 10:59Speaker 4: you know, something you want to work through or you're
- 11:01Speaker 4: open to.
- 11:02Speaker 3: How hard is it to get to that intention? Because
- 11:04Speaker 3: I'm obviously listening to you.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And there's, like, stuff that you're having to, like, live
- 11:08Speaker 1: in the scarring of it to, like, you know, the
- 11:10Speaker 1: whole self-love thing that you talk about as well. Like,
- 11:12Speaker 1: being intentional and trying to have the right mindset going
- 11:15Speaker 1: into it. Like, me, I think about it. I'm like, man,
- 11:16Speaker 1: I probably have, like, you get to like an anxiety state. Like,
- 11:20Speaker 1: is this the rabbit hole I want to go down?
- 11:22Speaker 3: And is this the right decision? Like, how do you
- 11:24Speaker 3: get to be intentional?
- 11:25Speaker 4: Well, then it's not right. There's not time, you know,
- 11:27Speaker 4: for you. It's not time. I think when you're ready, the,
- 11:31Speaker 4: you know, things will come into alignment, you know, and
- 11:36Speaker 4: the opportunity will present itself. But the key for me is,
- 11:39Speaker 4: is the surrender. So surrendering to the intelligence of the
- 11:46Speaker 4: plan or the intelligence of yourself, Or if you want
- 11:49Speaker 4: to look at it to go on the journey to
- 11:51Speaker 4: learn the lessons that need to be learned. Because when
- 11:53Speaker 4: you're resistant, and it's just really anything in life, when
- 11:55Speaker 4: you're resistant to things, obviously that water can't flow. That
- 11:59Speaker 4: action can't happen. And when you are in a ceremonial
- 12:04Speaker 4: space and drink ayahuasca, it's a very calm environment.
- 12:09Speaker 2: It's dimly lit. You drink.
- 12:11Speaker 4: There's mapacho being smoked, which is the sacred tobacco. which
- 12:17Speaker 4: the shamans believe helps keep protection over the space. He's
- 12:23Speaker 4: singing Icaros, which are very, like, generationally passed down songs
- 12:27Speaker 4: to aid in the medicinal journey. And then there's multiple
- 12:35Speaker 4: facilitators around who have sat with plants for, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 4: much of their life, who can help if things get squirrely.
- 12:46Speaker 4: There's a bucket if you need to purge or throw up.
- 12:49Speaker 4: And there's bathrooms if you need to go to the bathroom.
- 12:52Speaker 4: And other than that, it's usually you laying on your
- 12:54Speaker 4: mat having a deep and meaningful experience.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Are you with like other people? There's 22 other people.
- 13:00Speaker 5: But they put you all in the same area? Yeah,
- 13:04Speaker 5: but you're in your own world. I promise you that.
- 13:07Speaker 4: Will and I might be on mats next to each other,
- 13:09Speaker 4: but I'm in my own experience and he's definitely in
- 13:12Speaker 4: his own world.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Will is definitely would be in his own experience.
- 13:15Speaker 3: I'm shitting myself. There's no question. Whatever's happening.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 1: We're all in a, what I want to ask is
- 13:20Speaker 1: I listened to that and I think like, all right,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you do, you do something like that.
- 13:23Speaker 3: And then you have, whether it's the rest of the
- 13:25Speaker 3: off season or you get into the season.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Um, what, how do you balance coming out of that
- 13:32Speaker 1: and continue to be intentional with like living in that
- 13:34Speaker 1: clarity or like living in protecting your mental from getting
- 13:38Speaker 1: outside of yourself? Like, how do you stay intentional? Like
- 13:40Speaker 1: what's like a routine you might stick to or like,
- 13:43Speaker 1: books or how do you go about doing that?
- 13:45Speaker 2: Yeah. All that stuff.
- 13:46Speaker 4: I think it's, you know, as we're creatures of habit.
- 13:50Speaker 4: So the routine during the off season, it's so nice
- 13:53Speaker 4: to not have the routine to be able to make
- 13:55Speaker 4: your schedule and what you want to do. And you
- 13:57Speaker 4: have your workouts in the mornings usually and stuff. But,
- 14:00Speaker 4: but when you get back, I think one of the
- 14:01Speaker 4: things that we all love and appreciate is that routine
- 14:05Speaker 4: that kind of keeps us focused on the here and now.
- 14:10Speaker 4: But inside of that, we can't get locked into the
- 14:12Speaker 4: same routine all the time. It takes three weeks to
- 14:14Speaker 4: build a habit. And once it's built, it can stick
- 14:20Speaker 4: with you, but it's keeping your mind focused on what
- 14:23Speaker 4: you want to actually have your days look like. And
- 14:25Speaker 4: for me, there has to be some sort of meditation.
- 14:29Speaker 4: There has to be some sort of quiet period, especially
- 14:32Speaker 4: when I get back from work where I can just
- 14:34Speaker 4: like decompress because work is loud and there's a lot of,
- 14:39Speaker 4: stuff that we're asked to do, you know, some more
- 14:43Speaker 4: than others, depending on your position, your age, your importance
- 14:48Speaker 4: to certain parts of the aspects of the chemistry of
- 14:50Speaker 4: the team. And I think it's important to keep that balance.
- 14:54Speaker 4: When you get home, having a space that's kind of
- 14:56Speaker 4: just yours and having the time to be quiet and,
- 15:00Speaker 4: you know, and to decompress is important for me to
- 15:04Speaker 4: kind of mentally stay sharp.
- 15:08Speaker 3: I got another question.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I'm just trying not to be on your co-hosting game.
- 15:12Speaker 1: So we pivoting going into like talking a little bit
- 15:15Speaker 1: about ball and everything else.
- 15:17Speaker 3: We just had on LeFleur and Basaccia.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Number one, I would love to ask like your thoughts
- 15:20Speaker 1: on Basaccia coming into the team.
- 15:22Speaker 3: I've played for him for a couple of years. I
- 15:23Speaker 3: think he's fucking a shit.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Like some of the best speeches you'll ever hear in
- 15:27Speaker 1: your life because they're like genuine.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Like he's authentic. Like, hey, what do you think of Basaccia?
- 15:32Speaker 4: Best part is I like him. I definitely like him.
- 15:36Speaker 4: I got back and he was like, Hey man, he
- 15:37Speaker 4: didn't respond to my texts.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I was like, what do you mean? He's like, I
- 15:40Speaker 2: sent you that picture. Did you not get it? And
- 15:44Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 15:44Speaker 4: I'm not this Bob knows. Sorry, mom, but I'm not
- 15:47Speaker 4: the best texter. And I was like, Oh man, I
- 15:51Speaker 4: must not have seen it. Anyway, he shows me like,
- 15:54Speaker 4: then he sent me to a number like three numbers ago.
- 15:56Speaker 4: I don't know where he got that number, but it
- 15:58Speaker 4: was like, I haven't had that number since like 20,
- 16:01Speaker 4: you know, 12 or something. And it's like him. I'm like,
- 16:05Speaker 4: The best part about this is you sent this fucking
- 16:07Speaker 4: picture to some random number. Not only that, but you
- 16:10Speaker 4: sent it to two numbers that I haven't had in
- 16:12Speaker 4: 10 years. So, you know, numbers get recycled.
- 16:15Speaker 5: I was just being super genuine.
- 16:18Speaker 2: I always send a selfie.
- 16:19Speaker 4: You know, it's like a Raiders shirt, like, looking all, like,
- 16:22Speaker 4: mean mugged at the camera. It's like, Rich, what are
- 16:25Speaker 4: you doing?
- 16:25Speaker 3: Wait, wasn't he in his white beater?
- 16:27Speaker 2: I think it was, yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 3: With a Raiders beanie on?
- 16:30Speaker 2: That's what it was, yeah.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Yes, I have that photo.
- 16:33Speaker 3: It's just hilarious.
- 16:34Speaker 4: That's the picture. Rich, Peter, Raiders thing. I'm like, best
- 16:39Speaker 4: part is you sent that to some random person.
- 16:41Speaker 1: And he's upset that you didn't text him back about
- 16:43Speaker 1: that because he thought he was going to make you laugh.
- 16:45Speaker 4: But then since I got him my real number, he's
- 16:46Speaker 4: been texting me nonstop. So I don't know if I
- 16:51Speaker 4: should have just said, oh, yeah, man, great picture.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Thanks for that. Oh, my gosh.
- 16:55Speaker 4: No, I like Rich, though. We need an attitude change
- 16:57Speaker 4: on teams.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It's a mindset.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Just, like, young guys coming in who don't, like, get it. Like,
- 17:03Speaker 5: where you, like, we get it. On draft, you have to, like.
- 17:07Speaker 5: You get it, bro.
- 17:08Speaker 2: You get it. You got to play special teams that
- 17:10Speaker 2: just make the team. Just to get in.
- 17:11Speaker 3: He doesn't know.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I don't play teams.
- 17:14Speaker 1: No.
- 17:15Speaker 2: I held a few times since. Yeah, it's not the same.
- 17:21Speaker 5: And just kind of bringing that culture and, like, acceptance of, like,
- 17:27Speaker 5: you know, like that's like, it's okay. There's no like
- 17:29Speaker 5: pride in like being on special teams. Like there's no
- 17:32Speaker 5: like loss of pride. Like that's how you get there.
- 17:34Speaker 5: And him being so straightforward and like black and white
- 17:37Speaker 5: about it is like the best thing for this team.
- 17:39Speaker 5: It's kind of like creating like men when they walk
- 17:42Speaker 5: in the door, like to just like, and he teaches
- 17:44Speaker 5: football as a whole, like skill as a whole. He
- 17:46Speaker 5: doesn't just teach like special teams drills or like football drills,
- 17:49Speaker 5: like fundamental drills that like you just don't get when
- 17:52Speaker 5: you get to the league.
- 17:53Speaker 1: With, um, Going off of Versace, playing with LeFleur coming
- 17:59Speaker 1: in a few years ago. How's it been, like, you
- 18:02Speaker 1: guys sharing ideas, spitballing back and forth? There's obviously always
- 18:06Speaker 1: the vibe out there of, like, you guys are both
- 18:08Speaker 1: the head coaches of the team.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Like, talk about Coach LeFleur a little bit. I know
- 18:12Speaker 3: you've got to be aware of that.
- 18:14Speaker 1: He was actually on here, and he told a really
- 18:15Speaker 1: cool story because I was like, yo, like, coaching 12, like,
- 18:18Speaker 1: you've been around. A lot of quarterbacks throughout your career, like,
- 18:21Speaker 1: what makes 12 different? He brought up, actually, it was
- 18:23Speaker 1: both of you guys. He brought up a play from
- 18:24Speaker 1: Detroit where you guys are literally talking right before as
- 18:28Speaker 1: the play clock's winding down. And he, in his mind, thinks, like,
- 18:31Speaker 1: he's not going to get this ball if he has
- 18:32Speaker 1: no clue that it's going down. And it was about
- 18:34Speaker 1: to hit zero. And he calls a timeout. And he
- 18:37Speaker 1: was like, there's zero coming. Him and Rob are talking
- 18:39Speaker 1: back and forth. I call timeout before the clock hits zero.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And Aaron just goes, like, he's like, Aaron comes over
- 18:44Speaker 1: and just gets mad.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Like, God damn it, Matt.
- 18:46Speaker 2: It was a touchdown. And he's like, it was a.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Learning lesson for him because... of how aware he is
- 18:50Speaker 1: about so many situations. Like, talk a little bit about
- 18:53Speaker 1: your head coach LaFleur.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Under that picture you just painted?
- 18:58Speaker 4: I thought you had the foundation.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Go ahead. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Sometimes, you know, I'm learning. I'm learning as I get
- 19:05Speaker 3: better each time I get on here.
- 19:07Speaker 4: There's been a lot of disinformation and misinformation about, you know,
- 19:13Speaker 4: that was put out right away with Matt. We're not
- 19:15Speaker 4: going to be able to work together. I'm not coachable.
- 19:19Speaker 4: you know, all this bullshit. We basically turned all that
- 19:23Speaker 4: on its head pretty quick. You know, I respect the
- 19:26Speaker 4: guy who works his ass off. And Matt has an
- 19:30Speaker 4: incredible work ethic.
- 19:31Speaker 2: He really does.
- 19:32Speaker 4: I mean, he is a grinder and he cares about it.
- 19:34Speaker 4: And the biggest dance we had to figure out was
- 19:39Speaker 4: pairing his knowledge of scheme with my knowledge of experience,
- 19:45Speaker 4: you know, on the field. And obviously he's called games,
- 19:48Speaker 4: you know, he was coordinator in Tennessee, but, but I
- 19:52Speaker 4: think after the first year in the off season, we
- 19:55Speaker 4: really paired those things up and we whittled down the offense,
- 19:59Speaker 4: took out stuff that we never ran or that didn't work,
- 20:02Speaker 4: kind of put a couple of things back in that
- 20:05Speaker 4: have worked in the past. And it changed a lot
- 20:09Speaker 4: of things. I think for our offense and changed how
- 20:13Speaker 4: him and I interacted. The trust was there and I
- 20:16Speaker 4: stopped feeling like, you know, I was a game manager
- 20:21Speaker 4: and he, I felt like we took the reins off of,
- 20:26Speaker 4: or the blinders off of the offense and kind of
- 20:28Speaker 4: let us run free and had a couple of really
- 20:31Speaker 4: good years of offensive football. But I think I love
- 20:36Speaker 4: about Matt is that he's, he does have a growth mindset.
- 20:40Speaker 4: And when he came in, the way he's talked to
- 20:42Speaker 4: the team in meetings, the way he interacts with the guys,
- 20:45Speaker 4: he's still corny and has got his jokes, and we
- 20:47Speaker 4: fine him for bad jokes.
- 20:48Speaker 2: The worst jokes. The worst, yeah. The worst.
- 20:54Speaker 4: But he's really, he cares enough. He tries so hard,
- 20:57Speaker 4: and you love that. And he fucking grinds, too.
- 21:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:00Speaker 4: I mean, so how do you not respect that? The
- 21:02Speaker 4: dude fucking grinds. You come in, he's got five or six, like,
- 21:06Speaker 4: really fucking good plays during the week, and you're like,
- 21:08Speaker 4: all right.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 21:10Speaker 4: Thank you for grinding so much. Also, you're getting skinny fat,
- 21:14Speaker 4: so just check yourself, Matt.
- 21:17Speaker 5: But no one has to pay attention to skinny fat
- 21:19Speaker 5: when you got eyebrows like that.
- 21:20Speaker 2: That's true.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And teeth is white. Like, obviously, I know I have veneers. Like,
- 21:23Speaker 1: immediately I saw you look down. Like, he has very
- 21:26Speaker 1: white teeth naturally.
- 21:28Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying? Like, he's got his eyebrows.
- 21:30Speaker 3: He's got his white teeth. It's hard to look down
- 21:31Speaker 3: and understand.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Did you ask him who does his eyebrows?
- 21:34Speaker 3: No, I didn't.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I'm just curious. Great belly button, too.
- 21:38Speaker 3: He's got a good belly button.
- 21:41Speaker 1: No he is he does seem like somebody who he
- 21:44Speaker 1: understands he has like the awareness of his corniness and
- 21:46Speaker 1: he knows like he's like i don't want to try
- 21:48Speaker 1: and be somebody i'm not and i think he really
- 21:50Speaker 1: respects that this locker room is player led and like
- 21:53Speaker 1: he he uh he used an example of uh campbell
- 21:55Speaker 1: bringing it up and telling these guys are gonna have
- 21:57Speaker 1: a reality reality check like this practice is hard now
- 22:00Speaker 1: because you guys like the vets or the established guys
- 22:02Speaker 1: aren't going to be playing a lot in this first game.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:04Speaker 3: And this is good for you because you guys are
- 22:06Speaker 3: going to have a reality check in the game.
- 22:08Speaker 1: And he stands there and he says, when you sit
- 22:09Speaker 1: back and hear guys say stuff like that, it just,
- 22:12Speaker 1: it takes, it takes like an expectation off because he's like,
- 22:15Speaker 1: I can say it as.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Much as I want.
- 22:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 1: But it comes from a place of, we're trying to
- 22:18Speaker 1: work you guys as hard as possible.
- 22:20Speaker 5: And like conversations that I've had with them, it's like,
- 22:22Speaker 5: for him at the beginning, it was, he didn't feel
- 22:25Speaker 5: like he was doing enough when he was letting those
- 22:27Speaker 5: players lead or like letting 12, like same thing with
- 22:30Speaker 5: two minutes. I feel like I was, that was coming
- 22:32Speaker 5: out of my mouth. That was coming out of my mouth.
- 22:34Speaker 5: I said it with Aaron with two minute was like,
- 22:37Speaker 5: and we, I, we talked about it on the podcast.
- 22:38Speaker 5: It's just like, Aaron barely knows what the next play
- 22:42Speaker 5: call is going to be. Obviously Matt's not going to
- 22:44Speaker 5: know my secrets, by the way, that's not secrets at all.
- 22:47Speaker 2: That's true. That's the biggest.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Open-ended thought process ever. And it's like, no one knows
- 22:53Speaker 1: the secret because there is no secret. Nobody knows what's
- 22:56Speaker 1: going to happen next.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Right.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Only, you know, the secret, you never know.
- 22:59Speaker 3: You never know, man.
- 23:01Speaker 5: And I think like he was just more so at
- 23:03Speaker 5: the beginning and, um, Not like a pride or ego thing,
- 23:07Speaker 5: but just he wanted to be like a part of it.
- 23:09Speaker 2: There's ego in this, you know? Yeah. It's not... Everyone
- 23:12Speaker 2: has an ego. Yeah. Definitely some ego. It's like, well,
- 23:15Speaker 2: I want to be a part of it. I want
- 23:17Speaker 2: to help out. That's the difference of, you know, year
- 23:20Speaker 2: 18 versus year five and a half.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Boy, what's the difference?
- 23:23Speaker 2: Ego. Yeah, it is ego. Right to it.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Like, yeah, yeah. No, I feel you. Because you're still
- 23:29Speaker 1: trying to... You're trying to have an 18-year career.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Right. Trying to be nice. That'd be awesome. Would be nice.
- 23:34Speaker 3: He's... You can do it.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I can't do it.
- 23:36Speaker 3: He can afford to just come out and say that. Well,
- 23:38Speaker 3: but I do love that. I do love how.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Open you can be because it gives like a fresh
- 23:42Speaker 1: perspective to a lot of people on what goes on
- 23:44Speaker 1: in the mind of players that we can't necessarily.
- 23:47Speaker 2: For being a young head coach.
- 23:48Speaker 5: So to have like this locker room is so like
- 23:52Speaker 5: good to set a foundation for him, like moving forward.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I agree. And it's not like this everywhere. It's not
- 23:58Speaker 4: at all.
- 23:59Speaker 3: What do you mean by that?
- 24:01Speaker 2: We got the best locker room in the NFL. Okay.
- 24:06Speaker 2: That's a good one. No, you're not even talking about like.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Nobody left.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Well, I think there's fear around player-led teams ultimately, especially
- 24:18Speaker 4: with new programs, and there's always new programs in the league.
- 24:20Speaker 4: So a new coach comes in, you know, he wants
- 24:23Speaker 4: to do his shit, and the last guy was an idiot,
- 24:26Speaker 4: and I want my guys in here. And we have
- 24:29Speaker 4: so much turnover, it's hard to really keep the fabric
- 24:31Speaker 4: of what makes that place special there. And we naturally
- 24:36Speaker 4: have an amazing kind of fabric and aura around Lambeau
- 24:40Speaker 4: field and the Packers. But if we didn't have myself
- 24:45Speaker 4: and Sadie's and Mason and Bach and Bobby and Alan,
- 24:53Speaker 4: some of these guys, you know, who've been around the
- 24:55Speaker 4: team copy for a long time, that's the fabric of
- 24:58Speaker 4: the team. And then instead of like trying to insert
- 25:01Speaker 4: your own dogma and, you know, way of doing things
- 25:05Speaker 4: that has to be right. Going to those guys and saying,
- 25:08Speaker 4: what's worked here? Like what works in Green Bay? Because
- 25:12Speaker 4: Green Bay is different. Every place is different. What works
- 25:14Speaker 4: here that I can add into my philosophy and my
- 25:18Speaker 4: boundaries for the team and my, you know, goals and directions.
- 25:22Speaker 4: And I think that that's what Matt did really well
- 25:24Speaker 4: was he simplified things. He came in, he said, there's
- 25:26Speaker 4: three rules. Like, fuck, thank you. It's three rules.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 25:30Speaker 2: What are they?
- 25:31Speaker 4: I'll put the team first. Don't make excuses and complain
- 25:35Speaker 4: and be on time.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Be prepared. Like, awesome. Okay.
- 25:39Speaker 4: And then we're going to hold guys accountable if they don't.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Follow the rules. Sweet.
- 25:44Speaker 4: All right. So it's just like simple shit.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Right.
- 25:48Speaker 2: That makes sense. And then players take it over. Right.
- 25:53Speaker 1: And everybody kind of working together and like, obviously, yes,
- 25:56Speaker 1: there's ego and all of it, but checking your ego
- 25:57Speaker 1: at the door while you're going into.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:59Speaker 5: You, I think that, um, What was the thing? The Players'
- 26:03Speaker 5: Tribune that I kind of said in that letter was.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Humblebrag. Humblebrag.
- 26:09Speaker 3: Check it out.
- 26:09Speaker 2: I didn't really write it, though.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Oh, you wrote it. Hang on.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you wrote it. That's standard, though. Let's stop.
- 26:15Speaker 2: You wrote it.
- 26:17Speaker 5: But, like, you don't even have to, like, check your
- 26:20Speaker 5: ego at the door. Like, it just naturally, like, just
- 26:23Speaker 5: goes away once you get around, like, the leaders in
- 26:25Speaker 5: the locker room. Because, one, we hold each other accountable. And, two, like,
- 26:29Speaker 5: we just actually, like, care about each other.
- 26:31Speaker 2: So.
- 26:33Speaker 5: You're not trying to come in here and, you know,
- 26:34Speaker 5: be anything you're not like he's saying or like.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Why don't we fuck with each other too?
- 26:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 4: You know, I think there has to be an environment
- 26:40Speaker 4: where you can have jokes and mess around.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Be boys. Tease each other.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:43Speaker 2: That's what like brotherhood's all about, right?
- 26:45Speaker 4: Like.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 4: You know, tearing you, picking at you, you know.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:49Speaker 4: You know, getting after you a little bit on where
- 26:51Speaker 4: you're sensitive and then building you up when we need
- 26:53Speaker 4: to build you up.
- 26:54Speaker 2: And that's what.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:55Speaker 2: That's what's great about our environment here.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Are you sensitive?
- 26:59Speaker 2: Is he sensitive? We're all sensitive about a couple of things.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:02Speaker 2: But no, like, there's really no one actually sensitive in
- 27:05Speaker 2: the building other than Matt. Like, about jokes. But he's
- 27:12Speaker 2: gotten better. Yeah, he's gotten better. He's gotten better.
- 27:14Speaker 5: But, like, when someone comes in with an ego and is, like,
- 27:17Speaker 5: loud and obnoxious or something like that, like, they're either
- 27:19Speaker 5: not here long or they, like, stick out like a sore.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Thumb in a bad way.
- 27:22Speaker 4: You can, you know, we won't, but you can probably name,
- 27:26Speaker 4: I mean, I can in 18 years and you can
- 27:28Speaker 4: in how many years you've been here now?
- 27:29Speaker 2: Five and a half. Yeah, I mean.
- 27:31Speaker 4: There's definitely a few of those guys who haven't stuck around.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Dude, and you're 18. You've played 18 fucking years, which
- 27:38Speaker 1: is unreal.
- 27:39Speaker 3: This will be 18.
- 27:40Speaker 1: You've played 17, going on 18, going for back-to-back-to-back MVPs.
- 27:44Speaker 3: But I think a couple.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Things that were glossed over, not glossed over, but what
- 27:47Speaker 1: I really found interesting in that two-and-a-half-hour-long podcast you did
- 27:50Speaker 1: with Aubrey is, you know, over the years, obviously you
- 27:57Speaker 1: have this mystique about you where.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Media and everybody else tries to separate you from the
- 28:03Speaker 1: stuff you do on the field, how much you care,
- 28:05Speaker 1: your actual competitive nature, how good of an actual like
- 28:07Speaker 1: leader you you are. People try and separate and create
- 28:10Speaker 1: a lot of stuff and it all gets away from
- 28:12Speaker 1: everybody else.
- 28:13Speaker 3: But one thing I really like.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Listen to that I was like, that's fucking awesome to
- 28:17Speaker 1: kind of hear him reflect on was just how competitive
- 28:20Speaker 1: you were going all the way back to sitting in
- 28:22Speaker 1: because I was the same way. Like I would sit
- 28:24Speaker 1: on rival's. and obsessed over being like, I'm fucking better
- 28:27Speaker 1: than this dude. Like I need to be trying to
- 28:28Speaker 1: get to this camp. Like this obsession of like, I
- 28:31Speaker 1: would sacrifice and say no to this stuff on weekends.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Like you've, you've like, that's the humanizing thing where it's like,
- 28:37Speaker 1: Oh fuck. Like, yeah, every young cat is like that.
- 28:40Speaker 1: And you're the same way that young kid that's like,
- 28:42Speaker 1: love the game. And, uh, another thing like squatting 500
- 28:45Speaker 1: fucking pounds going into year 18 is Safety bar.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Hey, safety bar.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I justify it myself because I'm like, man, he squads
- 28:55Speaker 1: more than me. I don't think I can do 500
- 28:57Speaker 1: on the safety bar anymore. But I'm like... But that
- 29:00Speaker 1: is like... That competitive nature is what I'm trying to
- 29:03Speaker 1: pull out from this based on being young and you
- 29:06Speaker 1: going all the.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Way back to that and you kind of having that.
- 29:08Speaker 1: But it gets lost in translation because everybody's so obsessive
- 29:11Speaker 1: of things that you do in the offseason that I
- 29:13Speaker 1: think people lose sight of that little kid that was
- 29:15Speaker 1: still sitting probably... writing the coaches or fucking watching rivals
- 29:20Speaker 1: tape and trying to be the best or i need
- 29:22Speaker 1: to get a scholarship to cal but um.
- 29:24Speaker 4: That doesn't fit the narrative you know i think they've
- 29:26Speaker 4: they've definitely painted me as they want me to play
- 29:28Speaker 4: the villain role you know they have all different roles
- 29:30Speaker 4: in sports fun role can.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Be you say i fucking own you like in the
- 29:34Speaker 1: middle of the season.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Like it can be yeah yeah but it'd be much
- 29:37Speaker 5: more fun if it wasn't the villain role and he's
- 29:39Speaker 5: just doing that and just having fun.
- 29:41Speaker 2: I agree. Do you enjoy it? No, no, I'm saying
- 29:44Speaker 2: if it was painted. I'm not embracing the villain role.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I'm saying that's how I'm getting painted, bro. That's a
- 29:48Speaker 2: sensitive fine.
- 29:49Speaker 5: I was literally just saying, I was saying it would
- 29:51Speaker 5: be much more like nice and like if he was
- 29:54Speaker 5: portrayed as, you know, who he actually is.
- 29:57Speaker 2: I don't care. Right. I don't know. You want to
- 29:59Speaker 2: pay me as a villain? Cool.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Do you enjoy that? Like, do you have fun?
- 30:03Speaker 4: No, I mean, I don't pay a lot of attention
- 30:06Speaker 4: to it.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I know it's out there.
- 30:07Speaker 1: I know that's... You did speak in that podcast of
- 30:11Speaker 1: times where, man, what was the word you're saying, but
- 30:13Speaker 1: you're like, I knew I was acting.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Like, something about indifference?
- 30:17Speaker 2: I was talking about killing people with indifference.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, killing people with indifference.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, right.
- 30:22Speaker 3: It's about murdering people.
- 30:23Speaker 4: I don't think indifference has ever been a, you know,
- 30:25Speaker 4: a part of the, you know, Part of the murder charge.
- 30:34Speaker 4: But no, I was just saying that I do care deeply.
- 30:39Speaker 4: I care about excellence. I care about my teammates. I
- 30:45Speaker 4: care about setting the standard and living up to that standard.
- 30:49Speaker 4: I care about how I'm viewed in the locker room.
- 30:53Speaker 4: And I care about how I show up in the world.
- 30:56Speaker 4: I want to show up in the world exactly how
- 30:58Speaker 4: i see myself i think that's the goal for any
- 31:01Speaker 4: of us we want to be seen heard and understood
- 31:04Speaker 4: right i think that's kind of built into the fabric
- 31:07Speaker 4: of our humanity and you know for me i was
- 31:13Speaker 4: seen i was kind of heard but i was also
- 31:15Speaker 4: kind of an enigma because i didn't talk a lot
- 31:16Speaker 4: about my personal life but definitely not understood and so
- 31:20Speaker 4: there were a lot of narratives that got ran out
- 31:22Speaker 4: there about you know what they thought i was like
- 31:24Speaker 4: or what they expected or what they postulated or projected
- 31:28Speaker 4: i was like and it's been nice last few years
- 31:30Speaker 4: with you know doing pat show and being a little
- 31:33Speaker 4: more open with the media and then doing stuff like
- 31:35Speaker 4: this with you and i enjoy these conversations because i
- 31:38Speaker 4: think people get to you know see actually who i
- 31:42Speaker 4: am and they still don't like me that's cool whatever
- 31:45Speaker 4: at least you get to like hear it from me
- 31:47Speaker 4: like no no this is what i'm about yeah this
- 31:49Speaker 4: is who i am take it or leave it.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Were you was there any type of i don't nervous
- 31:53Speaker 1: this might not be the right word but like getting
- 31:55Speaker 1: into doing the mcafee stuff like going out and showing
- 31:58Speaker 1: yourself and being vulnerable enough to talk about these things. Like,
- 32:01Speaker 1: was there any type of hurdle you had to get
- 32:04Speaker 1: over doing that and getting comfortable doing it?
- 32:06Speaker 2: How to do ayahuasca.
- 32:08Speaker 3: How to do ayahuasca.
- 32:09Speaker 2: It just goes back to the plant. Yeah, it just
- 32:11Speaker 2: goes back to the plant, man.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Listen, I think I got to the point of where truly,
- 32:17Speaker 4: truly deep down not having anxiety or fear around what's
- 32:24Speaker 4: going to be said about me, knowing that the deepest
- 32:26Speaker 4: regret would be to not show up exactly how I
- 32:30Speaker 4: want to show up and to say exactly what I believe.
- 32:34Speaker 4: And that was the acting part that I could actually
- 32:38Speaker 4: not respond and, and not care because I do want
- 32:43Speaker 4: to be seen how I see myself. I think we
- 32:45Speaker 4: all do. And a lot of people have said a
- 32:48Speaker 4: lot of things about me over the years and portrayed
- 32:52Speaker 4: me in a certain way. And this has been to
- 32:54Speaker 4: some extent, because you're never going to change people that
- 32:56Speaker 4: don't want to like, you don't like, right.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Hate you i think you're.
- 32:59Speaker 4: A diva ego maniacal narcissist whatever else they say but
- 33:05Speaker 4: he's not paying attention yeah he doesn't i'm just i'm
- 33:08Speaker 4: postulating you know that might be said but but in
- 33:10Speaker 4: the end uh to be able to have a voice
- 33:13Speaker 4: and take back my nerve to some extent um at
- 33:16Speaker 4: least just speak the truth about who i am and
- 33:18Speaker 4: what i'm about feels pretty good i love.
- 33:21Speaker 1: It man i admire it like i think it's i
- 33:23Speaker 1: think it's awesome that you're like when i heard you
- 33:25Speaker 1: were going on pmt and stuff my man We're supposed
- 33:28Speaker 1: to be fucking sitting down with them. But I really
- 33:30Speaker 1: respect all of this stuff. Listen to that pod with Aubrey.
- 33:33Speaker 4: I appreciate you listening to it. And we need more
- 33:37Speaker 4: people who can have conversations and highlight guys in the
- 33:42Speaker 4: league who are deep thinkers and interesting people and not
- 33:46Speaker 4: just your standard blah, blah, football bullshit stuff. Because there's
- 33:51Speaker 4: a lot of great stories in the league that don't
- 33:52Speaker 4: get told. A lot of great humans who are smart
- 33:56Speaker 4: and interesting and thoughtful. And I appreciate you, you know,
- 33:59Speaker 4: highlighting those people and taking care of my boy, my
- 34:04Speaker 4: boy Big Bob.
- 34:05Speaker 3: Are we going to be rolling? Are we going to
- 34:07Speaker 3: be a crew in due time? In due time, you know,
- 34:13Speaker 3: when you, you know.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Do we get like those three-wheeled motorcycles and become a
- 34:18Speaker 4: motorcycle gang or what?
- 34:20Speaker 3: I would be down with that.
- 34:22Speaker 2: That's the boys. A gang of love, right?
- 34:24Speaker 1: That is true. Why did he want to kick me
- 34:26Speaker 1: in the balls? You said Aaron said he wanted to
- 34:27Speaker 1: kick you in the balls.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I don't have a reason. I just said that's something
- 34:30Speaker 2: you guys got to deal with.
- 34:31Speaker 4: I just felt like you took, you know, you posting
- 34:34Speaker 4: that video the other day was really hurtful.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Among other things. What else?
- 34:41Speaker 3: What else?
- 34:42Speaker 2: I don't remember. I forgot. Let's get it out. CTE.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:48Speaker 2: I got a meeting in six minutes. Do we have
- 34:50Speaker 2: a tier time?
- 34:51Speaker 3: We don't because it was too short. What else do
- 34:54Speaker 3: we got to figure out, man?
- 34:55Speaker 5: How about this? We can cut this if Aaron doesn't
- 34:58Speaker 5: want it on, but I thought about it last night.
- 35:01Speaker 2: You ready?
- 35:01Speaker 3: Can I ask one more question?
- 35:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 35:03Speaker 1: Before we do that, because I think it's major.
- 35:06Speaker 3: How do you see yourself going out? Because you've played
- 35:09Speaker 3: 18 years.
- 35:10Speaker 1: 17.
- 35:10Speaker 4: 17 years.
- 35:10Speaker 2: 17 years.
- 35:13Speaker 1: And I'm sure Super Bowl's involved and stuff, but, like,
- 35:17Speaker 1: how do you see yourself going out? Is it talking
- 35:19Speaker 1: about that young 10-year-old Aaron Rodgers that loved this game
- 35:22Speaker 1: so much, has been so competitive, so you're always doing
- 35:24Speaker 1: yourself right by it? But, like, how do you see
- 35:27Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers going out when you do decide to retire?
- 35:30Speaker 4: I see waking up and with a lot of gratitude
- 35:36Speaker 4: for 25 years playing the same thing, playing the same sport.
- 35:43Speaker 4: however many years, I'm at 25. This is my 25th year.
- 35:48Speaker 4: So whether it's 25 or 26 or 27, I'm counting like,
- 35:51Speaker 4: you know, junior college and Cal and high school.
- 35:54Speaker 2: He was a grinder, Juco. Yeah. Yeah, Juco grinder.
- 35:57Speaker 3: All I needed to hear was he was watching Rivals
- 35:59Speaker 3: and I'm like, yeah, I obsess.
- 36:01Speaker 2: I always fucking watch that too. I was like, man,
- 36:04Speaker 2: I'm shitty. I can't even get on. No self-doubt, but
- 36:07Speaker 2: you talked about you talked about.
- 36:09Speaker 1: How it helped you build that kind of chip on
- 36:11Speaker 1: your shoulder, but Yeah, it did.
- 36:13Speaker 4: But, you know, I think the time is going to
- 36:15Speaker 4: be pretty evident. When it's my time to hang it up,
- 36:20Speaker 4: I'll know.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:21Speaker 4: And it'll be mental, hopefully. Physical, I mean, that's an
- 36:25Speaker 4: easy time when you know you can't physically do it.
- 36:27Speaker 4: But if I can still physically do it, it's just
- 36:29Speaker 4: the mental part. And is it time to move on
- 36:32Speaker 4: or time to keep it rolling and keep on chasing?
- 36:37Speaker 2: I support that.
- 36:39Speaker 3: What would you like to, what do you want to add?
- 36:42Speaker 2: Start one, bench one, cut one. Okay, this is my
- 36:44Speaker 2: last one, then I'm out. Me too. Go for it.
- 36:47Speaker 2: We're on the same team. Start one, bench one, cut one. Jordy, Tay,
- 36:52Speaker 2: Donald Driver. Cutting Tay. You broke my heart.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Got him?
- 37:05Speaker 2: No, of course not. I can't do that.
- 37:07Speaker 3: We already got what we needed.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Look, I'm cutting D-Drive. I only played with him. I
- 37:12Speaker 4: played with him less than the other two guys. We
- 37:14Speaker 4: had a Super Bowl together, so I thought I could
- 37:16Speaker 4: get him. We won a Super Bowl together. That's what
- 37:18Speaker 4: I was saying. Also, Jordy was on that team. I
- 37:20Speaker 4: understand that.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Thank you. That's my question here. It is. What was
- 37:25Speaker 2: my question?
- 37:25Speaker 3: Donald brought the iPad.
- 37:26Speaker 4: I'm going to bench Jordy, and I'm going to start Tay.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Why are you benching Jordy? Because Jordy is a farmer now,
- 37:31Speaker 4: and I saw him the other day. He put a
- 37:32Speaker 4: little bit of weight on. And Tay still looks good
- 37:35Speaker 4: and still the best receiver in the league. So I'm
- 37:38Speaker 4: definitely starting Tay. I was in my friend's basement watching
- 37:41Speaker 4: him win a Super Bowl, sophomore year.
- 37:43Speaker 3: We were all somewhere watching him win a Super Bowl.
- 37:46Speaker 2: I was there.
- 37:48Speaker 1: He was in the Super Bowl winning it. We were
- 37:50Speaker 1: all just kids watching him win the Super Bowl. Hey,
- 37:52Speaker 1: I appreciate it, man.
- 37:53Speaker 3: I know you got to get rolling.
- 37:53Speaker 1: I tried milking this thing as long as I could.
- 37:55Speaker 1: But I do appreciate you guys, man.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Thanks, man. Thanks, Will.
- 38:00Speaker 3: You know it's good. When the boys sweat together, that builds.
- 38:04Speaker 3: That's equity, man.
