Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's going on, everybody? It's
- 0:15Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher and Adam Kaplan. And just let us get
- 0:18Speaker 1: the record straight right off the start. You're feeling good.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm feeling good. So that makes two of us who
- 0:25Speaker 1: are not on the Eagles injury report. Because when that
- 0:27Speaker 1: thing came out on Wednesday, Adam, that was like reading
- 0:31Speaker 1: the Dead Sea Scrolls. I mean, it reminded me of
- 0:33Speaker 1: my childhood when a friend of mine who happened to
- 0:36Speaker 1: grow up in a much you know, nicer house and
- 0:38Speaker 1: wealthier environment than me showed me his Christmas list once.
- 0:41Speaker 1: And it was like multiple pages. I had to scroll through.
- 0:45Speaker 1: So that thing was long and we're going to get
- 0:46Speaker 1: into how that's going to impact this game. And also
- 0:49Speaker 1: the Panthers coming up, they've got injuries as well.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Big ones. Their, their injury situation is way worse. Why?
- 0:55Speaker 2: Cause they have a lot of players who won't come
- 0:56Speaker 2: back this season. We're really big time key players for them.
- 0:59Speaker 2: JC horn torn quad. That's a terrible injury. Yeah. So
- 1:04Speaker 2: that's it. Both are starting corners are out. Like it, it,
- 1:08Speaker 2: The only good thing the Eagles have going in is
- 1:10Speaker 2: they don't have a lot of long-term injuries like the
- 1:13Speaker 2: Panthers do, and that would be the big difference. But
- 1:15Speaker 2: the Eagles had a lot of pop-ups. Holy smokes.
- 1:18Speaker 1: And there continue to be more, and we'll talk about
- 1:20Speaker 1: them as the Eagles get ready. I feel like it's
- 1:24Speaker 1: fair to say, Adam, the Eagles are at a crossroad here. Interestingly,
- 1:28Speaker 1: as we record this in the middle of the week,
- 1:31Speaker 1: they are favored to beat the Panthers. They are 2-3.
- 1:34Speaker 1: The Panthers are 2-2. The Panthers are actually averaging over
- 1:39Speaker 1: 30 points per game, not something that a lot of
- 1:42Speaker 1: fans had on their 2026 NFL bingo card. So they're
- 1:46Speaker 1: one of the best offenses in the league. The Eagles
- 1:48Speaker 1: are one of the worst offenses in the league. And
- 1:51Speaker 1: some of the reinforcements that they were hoping for might
- 1:54Speaker 1: not be back, and we'll get into that. But I
- 1:56Speaker 1: do think it's a crossroads game for them, Adam, in
- 1:59Speaker 1: that they have really been undermanned the last two weeks,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but their defense has kept them in. They at least
- 2:06Speaker 1: should have won one of the last two, but it
- 2:08Speaker 1: just– you know, they didn't make enough plays they needed
- 2:10Speaker 1: to make or enough good decisions.
- 2:13Speaker 2: They had at least– Yeah. In both games, they blew it.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I mean, the defense gave up. Everyone's killing the running game,
- 2:19Speaker 2: which they should because it's obvious it's been horrendously bad.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Terribly bad. But their defense, their pass defense has given
- 2:26Speaker 2: up big plays in the second half. They could not
- 2:28Speaker 2: get to Stafford. Stafford tore them apart. Tore them apart
- 2:30Speaker 2: in the rain, okay? They were at that game. First half,
- 2:33Speaker 2: they did a good job. They got pressure on them.
- 2:35Speaker 2: When they don't get pressure, that's when problems exist. And
- 2:40Speaker 2: you saw, it's funny, Trevor Lawrence, he looked so bad
- 2:44Speaker 2: the first half. He just was inconsistent. Didn't look comfortable
- 2:48Speaker 2: because the Eagles got to him. The way you make
- 2:51Speaker 2: a quarterback uncomfortable is you get to him. Don't let
- 2:53Speaker 2: him step in the throws. And then when they didn't
- 2:54Speaker 2: get to him the second half, he did great. He
- 2:57Speaker 2: looked like a completely different quarterback. And obviously the head
- 2:59Speaker 2: coach maybe helped a little bit. Finally, the calls to
- 3:02Speaker 2: play started to get him where he needed to go. Yeah.
- 3:07Speaker 2: So look, the Eagles have injury situation. We'll tell you,
- 3:09Speaker 2: we'll go over kind of what we know, what we hear,
- 3:10Speaker 2: what we see. What I find interesting is they did
- 3:15Speaker 2: not have, they must feel good about a lot of
- 3:17Speaker 2: these players. Why do I say that? Cause they, they,
- 3:19Speaker 2: they did work any players out this week for Wednesday.
- 3:21Speaker 1: You've been, you've, you've been on that for a while though.
- 3:24Speaker 1: They just don't, even when they're at their worst, they don't.
- 3:26Speaker 2: They're a bottom three workout team. They only do it
- 3:29Speaker 2: in emergency pretty much. Some years you can understand cause
- 3:32Speaker 2: the roster has been so good and their injury situations
- 3:34Speaker 2: have been so good until the season. Since Sirianni's gotten here.
- 3:38Speaker 2: But though the list is double what it was last week,
- 3:42Speaker 2: majority of the players are going to play. But some
- 3:44Speaker 2: of them, as you alluded to, not looking great. And then, unfortunately,
- 3:48Speaker 2: with Devontae Smith, now we're adding another injury to the
- 3:50Speaker 2: injury report, which is a toe issue.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll talk about that. So I guess where I
- 3:54Speaker 1: was going is that I don't see them as incapable
- 3:59Speaker 1: of winning this game. I still think, obviously, the injuries
- 4:02Speaker 1: are difficult and don't come at a bad time because
- 4:04Speaker 1: they're trying to find an identity. But at the crossroads,
- 4:07Speaker 1: we're at, if they lose the game and go to
- 4:10Speaker 1: 2-4 and have a four-game losing streak, which I don't
- 4:13Speaker 1: think they've had one of those maybe since 2020, which
- 4:17Speaker 1: was a terrible season. That's just, it's tough to see.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Could they still win the division? It's just tough to
- 4:24Speaker 1: see them picking up the pieces if they can't at
- 4:27Speaker 1: least be competitive and win this game.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I mean, it's crossroads for me. They were very competitive
- 4:32Speaker 2: against both. The two losses, the last two, they weren't
- 4:34Speaker 2: competitive against Chicago. They got their ass kicked.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Correct.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Coaches did a bad job. We've been through this, right?
- 4:39Speaker 2: The last two games, the coaches got themselves together. They're
- 4:43Speaker 2: very competitive. They just couldn't close the deal. I mean,
- 4:47Speaker 2: it's just stayed the injury. Yeah. Or the injuries catching
- 4:50Speaker 2: up to them. Of course they are, but it's more
- 4:52Speaker 2: than that. It's then. Yeah, they were prepared to play,
- 4:57Speaker 2: but then Syriana has a couple of mistakes. past protection
- 5:02Speaker 2: wasn't very good. Like at times it wasn't bad. Like
- 5:05Speaker 2: the two guys that were starting, the two undrafted free agents,
- 5:08Speaker 2: Lampkin and Jake Majors did a yeoman's job. They fought,
- 5:12Speaker 2: they clawed. I mean, they really did. They shouldn't be playing.
- 5:15Speaker 2: We have to understand that. But the fact, all of
- 5:16Speaker 2: that being said, with all these injuries, they had leads late.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I mean, that's all you could really ask for.
- 5:23Speaker 1: That's right.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Last week was painful. I understand that. I mean, I got,
- 5:28Speaker 2: you know, it's just getting some checkups on my health.
- 5:31Speaker 2: in the fall, as I usually do. And two doctors
- 5:35Speaker 2: that I see, both are huge Eagles fans. They cornered
- 5:37Speaker 2: me for 10 minutes, both of the guys. They're like,
- 5:39Speaker 2: what the hell's wrong with this? It's so funny because
- 5:41Speaker 2: these are like people in the medical profession. But yet
- 5:43Speaker 2: they're fans, so they think like fans. It's actually comical
- 5:45Speaker 2: to hear them ask me certain questions. Like, wow, you
- 5:47Speaker 2: really are addicted to this. But yeah, that's where they're at.
- 5:53Speaker 2: But the thing is, there's a lot of encouraging signs
- 5:57Speaker 2: in terms of certain areas are good. Passing game. Showing
- 6:02Speaker 2: some signs of life. Yes, it's sporadic. Wicks has had
- 6:05Speaker 2: a good season. He's looked good. Cooper, as we keep saying,
- 6:09Speaker 2: needs to get the ball more. You and I were
- 6:10Speaker 2: talking off the air. They've got to figure out who
- 6:12Speaker 2: he is as a receiver. Okay? But because of the injuries,
- 6:17Speaker 2: Devontae and Dallas Scott, it's an older player. They don't
- 6:20Speaker 2: really have a quality number two tight end yet. So
- 6:24Speaker 2: Cooper's got to be a factor now. And the coaches
- 6:25Speaker 2: have to figure this out with him. The kid is just,
- 6:27Speaker 2: I mean, he's earning it. Yep. I don't know what
- 6:29Speaker 2: else they want him to do. Four touchdowns and seven catches.
- 6:31Speaker 2: It's ridiculous. I've never seen anything like it. Yeah. I'm encouraged.
- 6:36Speaker 2: And I know some fans say, oh, you guys are idiots.
- 6:38Speaker 2: You're just homers. We're not, obviously. We get accused of
- 6:41Speaker 2: being negative. We're just telling the truth. Defensively, pass rush, inconsistent.
- 6:48Speaker 2: But where it was awful early, it's really coming on. Yep.
- 6:53Speaker 2: They need to do it through four quarters, not a half.
- 6:56Speaker 2: But there's some science here. It's not gloom and doom. Well,
- 7:01Speaker 2: if we see it, we hear it, we know it,
- 7:02Speaker 2: we'll tell you if the time comes. We'll tell you,
- 7:04Speaker 2: you know what, they're in trouble.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah. They're not.
- 7:07Speaker 2: They're tight.
- 7:08Speaker 1: We outlined on inside the– sorry, Andrew. I was going
- 7:10Speaker 1: to piggyback off some of the smaller things that may
- 7:13Speaker 1: have been hard to detect that were encouraging, and that's
- 7:16Speaker 1: all the word we can use is encouraging. For example,
- 7:20Speaker 1: the Eagles saw a 10% raise– against the jaguars in
- 7:25Speaker 1: passing from under center which is not a small number
- 7:28Speaker 1: because they don't go under center like 70 they do
- 7:30Speaker 1: it more obviously now than ever but it's not like
- 7:32Speaker 1: it's their main identity so we were we talked about
- 7:35Speaker 1: last week all the tells they were giving by just
- 7:38Speaker 1: running from under center and just passing from shotgun and
- 7:41Speaker 1: for the first half at least until the game got
- 7:42Speaker 1: a little wonky and they had a they had no
- 7:44Speaker 1: run game um they were doing a better job of
- 7:48Speaker 1: not giving the play away before they even snapped the
- 7:51Speaker 1: ball by formation so that's something you look can they,
- 7:54Speaker 1: can they continue to do that? Apply that. And, and
- 7:57Speaker 1: you know, and I don't put the Panthers in the
- 7:58Speaker 1: same category, even them being two and two as the
- 8:01Speaker 1: Rams or, or the Jags. So if you can hang
- 8:03Speaker 1: in there with those two teams and you're home, you
- 8:06Speaker 1: should have a chance to win this game.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I think the fans helped the Eagles had a little
- 8:09Speaker 2: bit of a contest. Well, yes, because they dominated. It's unbelievable. What,
- 8:12Speaker 2: what's just, it's amazing. That was so you, you look
- 8:16Speaker 2: at Carolina, Bryce Young, there's someone you and I know
- 8:20Speaker 2: who scouts and with the Panthers and, I know that
- 8:23Speaker 2: guy's been impressed. I'll leave it at that. Bryce Young
- 8:26Speaker 2: is finally getting rid of the football in time. He's
- 8:28Speaker 2: a smaller frame guy, 5'11, too thin, almost rail thin.
- 8:33Speaker 2: He's starting to put a little mass on his body,
- 8:35Speaker 2: but he was an elite processor in college. It was
- 8:40Speaker 2: a little bit hard for him earlier on in his career,
- 8:44Speaker 2: but he's doing it now. They have the offensive play
- 8:47Speaker 2: caller change. Brad Izzik's calling the plays. Give Dave Canales credit.
- 8:52Speaker 2: The head coach handing it off. And it's John Izzik.
- 8:56Speaker 2: If you didn't know John Izzik, the former Jets son,
- 8:58Speaker 2: doing a great job. Another Seattle connection, by the way.
- 9:01Speaker 2: It's Brad. And John used to work for the Seahawks.
- 9:03Speaker 2: But it's working. And Ted McMillan is an absolute superstar.
- 9:07Speaker 2: He is the next great young receiver. Coker's been an
- 9:10Speaker 2: unbelievable get for them. Yep. A great find for them.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And This Chuba Hubbard, and I've had him in my
- 9:18Speaker 2: Dynasty League for Fantasy, so I know this. The dude
- 9:21Speaker 2: is a productive guy. I mean, he's not special in
- 9:24Speaker 2: any way. In fact, they try to replace him more
- 9:27Speaker 2: than once. All the time. Remember, they extended his contract,
- 9:30Speaker 2: and then they drafted Jonathan Brooks because he didn't look
- 9:33Speaker 2: very good. And all of a sudden, he started to
- 9:36Speaker 2: be more decisive and downhill, and he's a great closer.
- 9:39Speaker 2: He's very versatile. but the thing that's plagued them is
- 9:43Speaker 2: they've just been besieged by injury, and it's not just
- 9:46Speaker 2: the Eagles, folks. I know for people in fantasy, my
- 9:50Speaker 2: friends who are in it playing are crying about all
- 9:52Speaker 2: the injuries. It's a bad year, but coaching matters, man.
- 9:55Speaker 2: You've got to dig. You've got to find different ways.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Find different ways to get guys to football. And that
- 10:01Speaker 2: is the challenge that we sent it back to this
- 10:03Speaker 2: week in these injuries. With the guys you have, the
- 10:06Speaker 2: Eagles coaches have to do a better job of using
- 10:09Speaker 2: the talent. It's not about who you don't have. It's
- 10:11Speaker 2: about who you have. Wicks, Cooper, Goddard. Earth's when you
- 10:16Speaker 2: think you can do. He's out of elevations, by the way.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I should mention that. Good point. So if they want
- 10:20Speaker 2: to get him up there, because it's funny, Carson Steele
- 10:22Speaker 2: of all people is on the roster. Like, do they
- 10:25Speaker 2: really need to use a roster spot?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:27Speaker 2: What was that about? I mean, they just caught him.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Especially since they didn't use him. I mean, they didn't
- 10:31Speaker 1: play him.
- 10:32Speaker 2: 20 snaps on specials. They didn't play on offense. Like,
- 10:36Speaker 2: that's what I mean. At what point do you say,
- 10:39Speaker 2: you know what, Damian Pierce is not working? Right. Wait.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Go to the next guy. How could he be any worse? Yeah, yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I mean, I think your point, and we've been talking
- 10:49Speaker 1: about this a little bit for over a week now,
- 10:50Speaker 1: is Cooper, Darius Cooper is showing that he belongs in
- 10:55Speaker 1: the NFL, and every time he's on the field, he
- 10:57Speaker 1: does productive things. He is playing a lot more, obviously,
- 11:01Speaker 1: with Devontae Smith out. I saw his snaps have been
- 11:03Speaker 1: over 80% in both games, but it's not like, it
- 11:06Speaker 1: doesn't feel like there's a concerted effort all the time
- 11:08Speaker 1: to try to get him the ball more, and maybe
- 11:11Speaker 1: there should be. I mean, listen, they're an offensive disarray
- 11:14Speaker 1: right now, so they could be trying and it's just
- 11:16Speaker 1: not working. But you can tell when they're trying to
- 11:19Speaker 1: target certain players or get involved when they're not.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Two things I would add to that, and they're actually connected.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Hurts had a tremendous trust in Wicks in training camp. Tremendous.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And you've seen it, obviously. And quite frankly, he's probably
- 11:32Speaker 2: missed Wicks on at least six passes where the ball
- 11:35Speaker 2: either was not accurate or as you put it out
- 11:38Speaker 2: inside the tape, look where the ball should have gone.
- 11:41Speaker 2: And Wicks wants a great route. He's always where, this
- 11:44Speaker 2: is the biggest takeaway I got from him, watching Minotti's
- 11:46Speaker 2: and training camp. He's always where he's supposed to be
- 11:48Speaker 2: because he gets the West Coast scheme, the timing of it.
- 11:51Speaker 2: He just does. He gets the rhythm of it. And
- 11:54Speaker 2: with Cooper, Jalen really trusted him. And the thing about
- 11:58Speaker 2: it is, and this is absolutely a factor, him being
- 12:03Speaker 2: a former high school quarterback, there's no question he is
- 12:07Speaker 2: just the feel for, oh, my quarterback wants me to
- 12:10Speaker 2: come back to the football. The touchdown, we went over
- 12:12Speaker 2: the DB's back. That's just, you know, and this is,
- 12:17Speaker 2: remember how much we used to complain last year and
- 12:19Speaker 2: the year before. Why don't the receivers come back? They
- 12:21Speaker 2: know Jalen breaks the pocket a lot.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:24Speaker 2: What? Come back to the football for goodness sake. Right. Well, that's,
- 12:28Speaker 2: I'm just very impressed by Wicks and Cooper. And to
- 12:31Speaker 2: finish this off, this discussion, I know we're going to
- 12:33Speaker 2: go here, but I'm glad we are. It's a big
- 12:34Speaker 2: deal because coaching matters and they have to figure, they
- 12:37Speaker 2: have to do a better job of getting these guys
- 12:38Speaker 2: at football. That's, no, that's where you're going. Yeah. Again,
- 12:42Speaker 2: to finish it off, you don't complain about what you
- 12:44Speaker 2: don't have. It's all about what you have, and that's it.
- 12:46Speaker 2: You only control what you have, and they have to
- 12:48Speaker 2: do a better job of it.
- 12:50Speaker 1: For sure. All right, so let's get into this injury
- 12:52Speaker 1: report because there are a couple of things that are
- 12:55Speaker 1: encouraging and a couple of things that are not encouraging.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So we're going off of Wednesday, first practice of the week.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Let's start with who didn't practice. Saquon Barkley did not
- 13:07Speaker 1: practice the hamstring. Michael Carter still out with the abdomen.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Jalek's Hunt didn't. who you heard Vic say it would
- 13:12Speaker 1: take a miracle for him to play. So he ain't
- 13:13Speaker 1: playing Sunday. Knee, ankle. Drew Kendall, man, this one's rough.
- 13:18Speaker 1: He is still, at least as of now, he didn't
- 13:20Speaker 1: practice because of the knee. And Will Shipley is going
- 13:23Speaker 1: to be out a little bit with the foot. And Devontae,
- 13:25Speaker 1: as you mentioned, not only has the hamstring, but a toe.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And Adam, if there's any sign of, turf toe or
- 13:31Speaker 1: any toes injuries are bad but especially for wider tiers
- 13:35Speaker 1: and they linger a long time that scares me that's
- 13:37Speaker 1: the crappy thing about them.
- 13:38Speaker 2: By the way devontae's had this hamstring issue for 10
- 13:40Speaker 2: weeks yeah folks let's not forget i think that's been
- 13:43Speaker 2: lost on some people i think he was definitely playing
- 13:46Speaker 2: this week i'm like i don't know where they're hearing
- 13:47Speaker 2: that but um yeah he was moving around last week
- 13:51Speaker 2: in his return to play protocol like that's part of
- 13:54Speaker 2: the ramp up is okay he was rehabbing And he's
- 13:58Speaker 2: allowed to move, which is, you know, we saw him jogging. Great.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Doesn't mean he's practicing playing this week, even without the
- 14:02Speaker 2: toe injury.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 14:04Speaker 2: But we'll see what happens. He's got two days, but
- 14:06Speaker 2: obviously it's not looking good. Oh, here's a good thing.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Hollywood Browns started working Wednesday. I know they didn't probably
- 14:11Speaker 2: practice really hard because they're coming back from London, but
- 14:16Speaker 2: that is a good sign just that he's out there
- 14:18Speaker 2: because they need anyone who could run for goodness sake.
- 14:21Speaker 2: That is the vertical game is completely gone. It, it's
- 14:25Speaker 2: so hard when you're a quarterback and you don't, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 2: you don't have anyone that could run downfield. I mean,
- 14:30Speaker 2: Cooper's a little bit intriguing because he, he's not a
- 14:33Speaker 2: fast guy, but he's well-built and he runs well after
- 14:38Speaker 2: the catch. Wicks is not fast at all, but he
- 14:40Speaker 2: runs well after the catch, but they need a vertical game.
- 14:43Speaker 2: And Hollywood Brown has 5 million full guarantee was supposed
- 14:45Speaker 2: to be that. Ah, but the good news is now
- 14:48Speaker 2: it doesn't mean they're playing. Okay. To be clear here.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I think sometimes people run to conclusions. But the good
- 14:55Speaker 2: news is that Grant Calcaterra, back, Stowers, quadriceps, Landon Dickerson,
- 15:01Speaker 2: bone bruise in his knee, and Ja'Cory Bennett with a
- 15:03Speaker 2: knee injury, which he got hurt in preseason. Yep. They
- 15:07Speaker 2: all started working Wednesday. Okay? It doesn't mean they're playing
- 15:10Speaker 2: this week, but the great thing is that they got
- 15:13Speaker 2: some practice time in. You would think that a couple
- 15:15Speaker 2: of them would return. I know Willie Lampkin was a
- 15:19Speaker 2: nice story. You could ignore the, as one league source
- 15:22Speaker 2: told me, he thought it was– No, there's not a
- 15:25Speaker 2: personal guy I know that looks at PFF grades, but
- 15:28Speaker 2: they're on social media. So apparently they're kind of aware
- 15:31Speaker 2: of it. And the one guy said, he goes, Willie
- 15:33Speaker 2: Lampkin's a nice story. He goes, I don't know what,
- 15:36Speaker 2: I guess it's out there that his grade wasn't very good.
- 15:38Speaker 2: He goes, look, the kid fought his ass off. This
- 15:42Speaker 2: is someone from another team. His job is to watch
- 15:43Speaker 2: Eagle State. And he said, he's absolutely should not be starting.
- 15:47Speaker 2: It's a great story, but you've got to give the
- 15:50Speaker 2: kid credit. In majors, he said, his limitation showed up.
- 15:54Speaker 2: But he said Lampkin's core strength is so good. We've
- 15:58Speaker 2: talked about it a hundred times in the wrestling background. Yep.
- 16:01Speaker 2: But getting back to Dickerson with a bone bruise, that's
- 16:04Speaker 2: a painful injury, man. You got to get the blood
- 16:07Speaker 2: flow and the swelling down. And that's great that he's
- 16:11Speaker 2: out there. They need mass. They need size on their
- 16:14Speaker 2: offensive line in the worst bleeping way. Oh, my God.
- 16:17Speaker 2: It is so obvious how small they are in the interior. Yeah.
- 16:20Speaker 1: And that's the thing. I mean, if Dickerson can play,
- 16:25Speaker 1: That's very good. Meaning at least you get some mass back,
- 16:28Speaker 1: but like we have to, we can't ignore the reality
- 16:30Speaker 1: that Dickerson wasn't playing, hasn't played well in quite a
- 16:32Speaker 1: bit going back to last year. But the fact that
- 16:35Speaker 1: drew Kendall wasn't able to practice the first day a week,
- 16:38Speaker 1: and maybe that'll change. We'll see.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Or straight.
- 16:41Speaker 1: If they have, yeah. If they have to play Willie
- 16:43Speaker 1: Lampkin at center and they're able to get Dickerson at
- 16:48Speaker 1: left guard, it's still, I don't know that.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I said, if I said, no, no, but what I'm
- 16:52Speaker 2: saying is if Dickerson's back, I tried to warn you
- 16:56Speaker 2: about a couple of these things. I just... Lampkin is...
- 17:03Speaker 2: He's better because of the way he's built for guard,
- 17:06Speaker 2: not center. You can play both. Now, the question is...
- 17:12Speaker 2: We'll look into this, where they're at with Jake Majors,
- 17:14Speaker 2: because he's very limited. For a guy 6'2.5, short arms,
- 17:17Speaker 2: not strong like Willie, but Willie's better off a guard.
- 17:20Speaker 2: That's what I was told by people of great... That's interesting.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't come out of college as a guard, right?
- 17:26Speaker 2: I mean, the Rams had him playing center. He's a short.
- 17:29Speaker 2: It's weird.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It's just because he's so strong.
- 17:32Speaker 1: It just goes to your point about he's a backup,
- 17:35Speaker 1: even at his best. And Greg made a great point.
- 17:37Speaker 1: He'll stalemate. He'll fight. He understands leverage. He will build
- 17:40Speaker 1: a house and anchor. And he did a pretty decent job.
- 17:43Speaker 1: We showed one of him doing that against Trayvon Walker,
- 17:45Speaker 1: a number one overall pick.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Oh, it was awesome. You have to see that.
- 17:47Speaker 1: It was a great rep. It was a great rep.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But when we talk about this Eagles offense– What it
- 17:52Speaker 1: needs to be to get back to what it once was,
- 17:55Speaker 1: was people movers on the offensive line. When they run
- 17:58Speaker 1: the ball or even when they're passing, but mostly when
- 18:01Speaker 1: they're running, you want to see them reset the line
- 18:03Speaker 1: of scrimmage like they used to. And they haven't done
- 18:06Speaker 1: that in a long time. And Willie, as good of
- 18:07Speaker 1: a story is, is not going to help you in
- 18:10Speaker 1: that department. He's not going to open up a crevice
- 18:12Speaker 1: so big for Saquon, when healthy, to be able to
- 18:17Speaker 1: run through or whatever. Because that's just, he's not physiologically
- 18:22Speaker 1: capable of doing that. So you're right, he's a good story.
- 18:24Speaker 1: But he's not the guy to get the Eagles back
- 18:28Speaker 1: to where they want. And Mike Gill asked me in
- 18:29Speaker 1: our Football at Four interviews with him, he said, do
- 18:31Speaker 1: you think they want to take an extended look at
- 18:33Speaker 1: him to see if it's the future of the offensive line.
- 18:35Speaker 1: And I said, Mike, you know, you and I know this, Adam. Like,
- 18:38Speaker 1: when Howie rebuilds this offensive line, it's going to be
- 18:41Speaker 1: around first and second and maybe some good stories like Milo.
- 18:45Speaker 1: It's going to be high picks who are 6'5 and 330.
- 18:49Speaker 1: That's what it's going to be.
- 18:49Speaker 2: We love Lampkin. I love this story. I think it's awesome.
- 18:53Speaker 2: And I know the Rams are pissed off when the
- 18:54Speaker 2: Eagles claim him. Who gives a shit? I mean, honestly.
- 18:58Speaker 2: There's no gentleman's agreement when you're trying to win. I mean,
- 19:00Speaker 2: we need to understand that. It's a cutthroat business. Yeah.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I know you know this and I'll just let, I'll
- 19:05Speaker 2: give a little, we'll, we'll, we'll go on the record
- 19:08Speaker 2: with this one. You know, when GMs talk to each
- 19:12Speaker 2: other and you know, they, they, they could sell them
- 19:14Speaker 2: when they lose a lot of players, they'll get off
- 19:16Speaker 2: the phone and like, they're, they're actually secretly happy. They
- 19:19Speaker 2: feel bad for them. They're like, well, Hey, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 2: when we play them, they won't have that player. Good
- 19:22Speaker 2: for us. You know, it's like, I know people were saying, Oh,
- 19:27Speaker 2: the Eagles shouldn't have done that. Who cares?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 2: And you know what? They could have done it with
- 19:31Speaker 2: UR Bernard. They didn't do it. Remember when we were
- 19:33Speaker 2: talking about maybe the Rams will get him back? They
- 19:34Speaker 2: didn't do that.
- 19:35Speaker 1: For sure, they didn't.
- 19:36Speaker 2: He wasn't going to contribute anyway this season.

- 21:53Speaker 2: So looking at the offense, other than Saquon, if Goddard
- 21:59Speaker 2: came through, the good thing is he's off the injury
- 22:01Speaker 2: report this week.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he's off totally.
- 22:03Speaker 2: That is really important. I'm just looking at the other.
- 22:07Speaker 1: So did we go through everybody who was limited? You
- 22:09Speaker 1: said Bennett. You said Brown. Did you say Grenard and Jenkins?
- 22:12Speaker 1: Grenard limited. Tyler Steen limited.
- 22:16Speaker 2: That's something we'll watch. The fact that he was out
- 22:19Speaker 2: there on Wednesday is really great news. Yes. Because remember,
- 22:22Speaker 2: it looked bad. He somehow came back and then left.
- 22:27Speaker 2: The fact that he was out there working to me
- 22:29Speaker 2: is a very positive sign. It doesn't mean he's playing,
- 22:31Speaker 2: but I feel more encouraged about that. By the way,
- 22:33Speaker 2: Fred Johnson, this is important. A full practice. Now, remember,
- 22:39Speaker 2: if they stick with Markel Bell, which is, I'm sure,
- 22:41Speaker 2: what they'd like to do, that it didn't look great
- 22:43Speaker 2: for him this past game, the fact is, if they
- 22:47Speaker 2: ever want to pull the plug on Bell, they need
- 22:48Speaker 2: someone else, and that would be Fred Johnson.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 22:51Speaker 2: And that's a good sign. So he's getting healthier. Other
- 22:55Speaker 2: than that, on offense....
- 22:59Speaker 1: Dylan Hurts. We should talk about him because he had
- 23:01Speaker 1: a calf injury, and he talked about that. I don't
- 23:03Speaker 1: know if people remember, but he actually... He came out
- 23:05Speaker 1: of the Rams game. I don't think– he wasn't replaced.
- 23:09Speaker 1: It was just when the offense was coming off the field.
- 23:11Speaker 1: And I was there. I remember seeing it. He got
- 23:12Speaker 1: on the bike and started riding it a little bit.
- 23:16Speaker 1: So we knew something was up, but then it just
- 23:18Speaker 1: went away. Like he played and nobody talked about it.
- 23:21Speaker 1: But then last week he showed up on the calf
- 23:23Speaker 1: and he talked about it. He said that the reason
- 23:26Speaker 1: he didn't get out onto the field against the Jags
- 23:29Speaker 1: right away– was because he was trying to let that
- 23:32Speaker 1: calf rest. So we might have an answer there, Adam,
- 23:34Speaker 1: as to why you've seen the least amount of running
- 23:38Speaker 1: from Jalen Hurts, both designed and scrambling, than you've ever
- 23:42Speaker 1: seen in a three-week span before.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Well, look at week one. But you also have to remember, okay,
- 23:50Speaker 2: when you're dealing with a short deck like the offensive
- 23:53Speaker 2: coaches are doing, some of the things you would have
- 23:55Speaker 2: liked to have done, they're out the door. You can't
- 23:57Speaker 2: do them. You're just not going to do it. You're
- 23:59Speaker 2: going to. You're just trying to survive, okay?
- 24:01Speaker 1: Right.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I had a talk with an offensive coach, which I
- 24:05Speaker 2: clued you in about, and he gave me some great stuff.
- 24:07Speaker 2: He goes, when you're dealing with what– this guy happened
- 24:10Speaker 2: to– let's just say he wasn't working on Sunday. He
- 24:13Speaker 2: was able to watch the game. And he goes, when
- 24:15Speaker 2: you're dealing with this kind of massive issue, you're just
- 24:19Speaker 2: trying to survive. Yes. And you're scaling stuff back. Some
- 24:23Speaker 2: stuff you thought could have been great this season, you
- 24:24Speaker 2: junk it until things get clean, meaning you get a
- 24:27Speaker 2: lot of the guys back. But having Hurts and designing runs, man,
- 24:30Speaker 2: you don't even know what you can get away with
- 24:32Speaker 2: because 200 has to freeze and starting on the interior guard,
- 24:37Speaker 2: left guard, and center. You got a right tackle who
- 24:39Speaker 2: shouldn't be playing, okay? Steen gets hurt. What can you
- 24:43Speaker 2: possibly achieve that you wanted to achieve? You're trying to
- 24:46Speaker 2: win that game. The fact that they actually had the
- 24:48Speaker 2: lead late, come on. Right. It's a miracle, to be honest.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It's a great point. I mean, their bread and butter
- 24:53Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts design run for the last few years has
- 24:56Speaker 1: mainly been at a spread empty– Motion, the running back out,
- 25:00Speaker 1: linebacker follows him, and you only have one linebacker to block,
- 25:02Speaker 1: and it was either usually Juergens or Dickerson. Somebody who
- 25:06Speaker 1: can get into that second level and cover it up.
- 25:08Speaker 1: I'm sure they looked at Steen, and I'm sorry, they
- 25:11Speaker 1: looked at Majors, and they looked at Lampkin and thought,
- 25:13Speaker 1: this might not be our best guy to go out
- 25:16Speaker 1: and jump into the second level and try to cover
- 25:18Speaker 1: up a pretty good linebacker duo that the Jags had.
- 25:21Speaker 1: So I can understand why they shelved it. And again,
- 25:25Speaker 1: if Jalen Hurts is his calf, was bothering him enough
- 25:28Speaker 1: to make him not come onto the field because he's
- 25:31Speaker 1: getting rest and treatment on it, you can understand why
- 25:33Speaker 1: there would be a little reluctance there.
- 25:34Speaker 2: He took all the ones on Wednesday, number one. Number two,
- 25:37Speaker 2: you should know this, that they didn't add him to
- 25:39Speaker 2: the injury portal after Friday's practice. Right. Which means he
- 25:43Speaker 2: was bothering him enough that they were honest about it,
- 25:46Speaker 2: that they were honest about it. They didn't have to.
- 25:49Speaker 2: If he took all the ones, you don't have to
- 25:50Speaker 2: do that. But good for the Eagles to do the
- 25:52Speaker 2: right thing there. So, yeah, he's fine. You know, I
- 25:56Speaker 2: hope at some point, because calf injuries, unfortunately, if you
- 25:58Speaker 2: keep playing on it, they're going to linger. So, oh,
- 26:01Speaker 2: EJ Jenkins added with a toe injury, limited. We'll have
- 26:04Speaker 2: to see about that. Not that he's employed as a
- 26:06Speaker 2: third string tight end, but they're going to, by the way,
- 26:09Speaker 2: they're going to continue to play a ton of 11 personnel,
- 26:12Speaker 2: even though they're down at receiver. Until these coaches feel
- 26:15Speaker 2: comfortable with their tight ends, they're just going to be
- 26:17Speaker 2: 11 personnel. That's not what they wanted to do.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I don't even know when that point this year is
- 26:22Speaker 1: because of their person. Like when can they play 12 personnel?
- 26:26Speaker 2: Well, Goddard, well, Goddard missed a lot of time. Goddard's
- 26:30Speaker 2: back now. Yeah.
- 26:31Speaker 1: I guess with Goddard and Munt, you can do it now,
- 26:33Speaker 1: but again, you're still, you're still restricting yourself. And as
- 26:35Speaker 1: far as moving the ball, when you have a guy
- 26:37Speaker 1: out there who's not going to catch the ball, but.
- 26:39Speaker 2: You're not worried about that. You're where you, you, you
- 26:41Speaker 2: understand that. Like it's no different when you put out,
- 26:45Speaker 2: when they put, when the Giants put out Chris Manhart,
- 26:46Speaker 2: do you think they gave a shit about Chris Manhart's
- 26:48Speaker 2: been on the field?
- 26:49Speaker 1: No, you're right. I mean, that's your early down 12 personnel,
- 26:52Speaker 1: but I guess what I'm saying is if you had a,
- 26:54Speaker 1: another somewhat Goddard-ish type player, you could probably pass a
- 26:57Speaker 1: little more.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yes, but they were hoping that, well, rephrase that. They
- 27:04Speaker 2: knew when they saw, they knew Stowers was a project
- 27:06Speaker 2: when the draft and it wasn't a secret. Then it
- 27:07Speaker 2: became more of a project after they went through it.
- 27:10Speaker 2: But on your point, They don't have that other guy.
- 27:14Speaker 2: That's why Zach Kurtz is here. Not only were they
- 27:15Speaker 2: down at tight end, they need someone to catch the football.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I forgot about her.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Good point. I know where you're going here, but Zach
- 27:23Speaker 2: is 36 years old. That's not a good situation. This
- 27:25Speaker 2: is where Howie should have gotten one more. It didn't
- 27:29Speaker 2: have to be a great guy. There's a guy I
- 27:32Speaker 2: was hoping they would have signed as Tanner Hudson. who's
- 27:35Speaker 2: sort of a journeyman tight end, who's a big dude,
- 27:37Speaker 2: who could do both the F and the Y stuff.
- 27:40Speaker 2: He was with the Bengals. He was on their practice squad.
- 27:42Speaker 2: And then they moved him up to be their third
- 27:46Speaker 2: tight end. He was on their practice squad. The Eagles
- 27:48Speaker 2: could have signed him off there. They didn't. But that's
- 27:50Speaker 2: what I was hoping they would do. Yeah. It's just
- 27:53Speaker 2: bring someone else, a veteran in, who you know could
- 27:56Speaker 2: catch a little bit. Doesn't have to be great.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah, and just so folks know, this is not a
- 28:00Speaker 1: second guessing. We probably talked about the uncertainty of the
- 28:05Speaker 1: tight end position going back to after the draft more
- 28:08Speaker 1: than any position outside of maybe offensive line because of
- 28:11Speaker 1: the injuries last year than any on the offense because
- 28:14Speaker 1: we knew what they wanted to accomplish with Sean Mannion's
- 28:17Speaker 1: offense being a modernized West coast and the other, the
- 28:20Speaker 1: McVeigh's and the Shanahan's of the world, what they do
- 28:22Speaker 1: and the floor where he was from. And we knew
- 28:24Speaker 1: that it just didn't, it didn't look right for, for
- 28:27Speaker 1: what they had too many one dimensional guys, not enough
- 28:30Speaker 1: true wise, you know, and you know, Goddard gets banged
- 28:32Speaker 1: up and of course he did. And that really restricted
- 28:35Speaker 1: what they could do. So he's just surprising.
- 28:39Speaker 2: He's their F Goddard is their F in this offense.
- 28:42Speaker 2: He is. Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 1: He used to be a Y, but he doesn't really
- 28:44Speaker 1: block well anymore.
- 28:44Speaker 2: I don't know that. I, I, Is he the same
- 28:48Speaker 2: guy blocking? No, but it doesn't mean he can't block well.
- 28:51Speaker 2: We have to understand.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I mean, Greg has even said on tape, it's not
- 28:55Speaker 1: like he used to be. Again, it's not moving people
- 28:57Speaker 1: like he used to, yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 2: But he's not bad.
- 29:00Speaker 1: No, no, no, not bad.
- 29:01Speaker 2: You have to remember, and we pointed out on Inside
- 29:04Speaker 2: the Tape last year, what they were asking these tenants
- 29:07Speaker 2: to do sometimes was criminal. There's crosswalks and there's whiffing
- 29:11Speaker 2: and I know people would ask us on Twitter about
- 29:14Speaker 2: Jack Stoll. Jack Stoll's on the team right now. I
- 29:16Speaker 2: happen to see the transaction, so he's not available. But, yeah,
- 29:20Speaker 2: how he needs to find somebody. He doesn't need to
- 29:22Speaker 2: make a trade for a guy. Why not work some
- 29:24Speaker 2: tight ends out, for goodness sake?
- 29:25Speaker 1: Geez.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Good idea. Yeah. Anyway.
- 29:29Speaker 1: It's funny. You could probably find five positions that the
- 29:32Speaker 1: Eagles could theoretically make a trade for to really help them,
- 29:34Speaker 1: whether it's guard center, whether it's tight end, even wide receiver.
- 29:38Speaker 1: I mean, there are a lot of positions. Safety.
- 29:40Speaker 2: They're going to have to add they're going to have
- 29:42Speaker 2: to add a multi-position multi-position backup line offensive lineman they
- 29:48Speaker 2: have to do that i mean whether it's for a
- 29:51Speaker 2: straight free agent trade Whatever they got to do, they
- 29:55Speaker 2: have to do. It's just, you can't, if you want
- 29:57Speaker 2: to be a playoff team, they still absolutely could be
- 29:59Speaker 2: a playoff team. You can't go through this anymore. They
- 30:02Speaker 2: don't control get served, but they control how they react
- 30:04Speaker 2: to it. Yep. And this is how it could do. So, oh,
- 30:08Speaker 2: we should mention that Wicks is back on the injury report.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Remember he had a hamstring injury. He got hurt two
- 30:12Speaker 2: weeks ago, then it wasn't on it last week. He's
- 30:14Speaker 2: on it again now. He worked Wednesday. I wouldn't push
- 30:17Speaker 2: the panic button, but I just want to let people
- 30:19Speaker 2: know that he's back on the injury report. So we'll
- 30:22Speaker 2: monitor that. Not good for Kendall. It's four straight practices. Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 1: One thing that I find to be concerning, and again,
- 30:29Speaker 1: this is just the first, but we know Hunt is
- 30:32Speaker 1: really hurt and is not going to be playing on Sunday.
- 30:34Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Grenard and Epinesa are both limited. Now, Grenard has been
- 30:39Speaker 1: out for a bit here. I mean, at some point,
- 30:41Speaker 1: he's got to get to be a full participant. But, like,
- 30:44Speaker 1: you're right now looking at Nolan Smith as the only
- 30:47Speaker 1: guy who's on the edge group that's not on the
- 30:50Speaker 1: injury report.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Because Ebikedi is still there, correct?
- 30:54Speaker 2: Yeah, Ebikedi is.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Ebikedi, yeah. He was full, but he's on the report.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's going to be. I don't really worry
- 31:01Speaker 2: about a guy who's limited on Wednesday. It's Friday.
- 31:04Speaker 1: Agreed.
- 31:04Speaker 2: So let's see what happens on Thursday. We'll see what
- 31:06Speaker 2: happens on Friday.
- 31:07Speaker 1: But we can fairly make the point that he could,
- 31:10Speaker 1: Cunard could practice in full for Thursday, Friday, but he's
- 31:14Speaker 1: only played 50 snaps all year. His conditioning cannot be
- 31:17Speaker 1: to the point where you need it to be when
- 31:19Speaker 1: you're out JLX Hunt.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Well, yeah, because I know where you're going. He's going
- 31:24Speaker 2: to have to, because if they're going to be down Hunt,
- 31:26Speaker 2: they need guys who can give them snaps.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and you see Epinesa's got the back.
- 31:30Speaker 2: So, I mean, it's... And we don't know what Grenard's...
- 31:33Speaker 2: Could he play 80% of the steps? We have no idea.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I know it's a fair point. It's a good point.
- 31:37Speaker 2: But he looked fantastic. The tape, we were told, was phenomenal.
- 31:41Speaker 2: His first step, I'll say it again, it's not Dwight Frinney,
- 31:48Speaker 2: but his first step, and I forget who he beat,
- 31:53Speaker 2: his jab. He had a jab step, and he beat
- 31:54Speaker 2: this guy badly.
- 31:55Speaker 1: That was against the Rams, right? It was.
- 31:57Speaker 2: My beat.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Who's the Rams? It was Alaric. It was Alaric Jackson. Yeah,
- 32:01Speaker 1: I know, right? Alaric should have punched him in the face.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I was like, what the hell?
- 32:08Speaker 1: One of the bizarre things I've seen. That reminded me
- 32:10Speaker 1: of the NBA thing in the offseason. Like, didn't Bam
- 32:13Speaker 1: out of bio, like, punch Tyler Harrow somewhere, like, on
- 32:16Speaker 1: a random spot?
- 32:17Speaker 2: Yeah. Crazy. Oh, Zach Vaughn, he took all his reps.
- 32:21Speaker 2: He took all the ones on Wednesday, but he's got
- 32:22Speaker 2: a shoulder issue.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Campbell now, okay. Jihad, he did practice in full, of course.
- 32:29Speaker 2: That's misleading because he's not a full-time starter anymore, according
- 32:34Speaker 2: to Vic Fangio.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Correct. As long as Jeremiah Trotter does not get kicked
- 32:39Speaker 1: out of the game in the kickoff, it looks like
- 32:41Speaker 1: you'll see that rotation.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I'm following his dad on IG. I wonder if he
- 32:45Speaker 2: said anything. Jihad added to– he now has a wrist issue,
- 32:48Speaker 2: so we'll have to watch that. You mentioned Carter with
- 32:51Speaker 2: the abdomen. It didn't look good, so he didn't work.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Epinesa with a back did take some reps on Wednesday.
- 32:56Speaker 2: Got to watch that. He's an older player now. He's
- 32:58Speaker 2: getting up there.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 2: Other than that, Chuma Kuba added with a shoulder issue.
- 33:04Speaker 2: He took all the ones on Wednesday. He'll start. Again,
- 33:09Speaker 2: Steen did work on Wednesday. That's good. So, yeah, we'll
- 33:12Speaker 2: get to the Panthers in a second. But it's way
- 33:15Speaker 2: longer this week. But it's not like anything dire. Now
- 33:19Speaker 2: it doesn't mean a couple of guys might not go
- 33:21Speaker 2: on IR. We like Will Shipley. It was been reported
- 33:24Speaker 2: to have a partial fashion, a fascial tear foot. Let
- 33:28Speaker 2: me tell you something, folks talking to players. You want
- 33:31Speaker 2: it to be fully torn. One player told me when
- 33:34Speaker 2: it was partially torn, it was like walking on a
- 33:37Speaker 2: box of rocks. He said, it's unbelievably painful. So, yeah.
- 33:43Speaker 2: So I don't, why would she like knowing that I
- 33:45Speaker 2: don't see how Shipley avoids IR. We'll see what happens. Yeah. Um,
- 33:49Speaker 2: And then, yeah, I mean, Jalex Hunt, I just like
- 33:54Speaker 2: that it didn't sound dire. Obviously, he's not playing this week,
- 33:59Speaker 2: but it didn't sound dire. We'll see what they do.
- 34:01Speaker 2: By the way, the transaction deadline to make a decision
- 34:04Speaker 2: on IR is Saturday for this week. And you're going
- 34:06Speaker 2: to want this to count as a week if it's
- 34:08Speaker 2: not bad. You're going to want to put him on
- 34:10Speaker 2: IR on Saturday, 4 p.m.
- 34:11Speaker 1: Eastern. Yeah.
- 34:12Speaker 2: No, I agree.
- 34:13Speaker 1: I thought one of the positive injury news was that,
- 34:16Speaker 1: based on how it looked when he went down, that
- 34:19Speaker 1: I think Vic was the one who said Jalex Hunt
- 34:23Speaker 1: would be a miracle to play Sunday, so he's not
- 34:24Speaker 1: going to play Sunday, but he'll be pushing to get
- 34:27Speaker 1: back sooner. And even Hunt said that. Because when I
- 34:29Speaker 1: saw it, Adam, I thought, I think this guy's gone
- 34:31Speaker 1: for the year. I mean, the way his legs stretched, yeah,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I thought it was bad.
- 34:37Speaker 2: I've seen dislocations. When I saw the Chiefs.
- 34:42Speaker 1: Receiver, Oh, Tyquan Thornton.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, it's a shame. And I was like, I
- 34:47Speaker 2: felt so bad because he finally started to come on
- 34:49Speaker 2: and a former Belichick second round pick who was a bust. Yep.
- 34:53Speaker 2: I'm like, that's an ankle dislocation. Don't please. I was like,
- 34:56Speaker 2: don't show that again. Please don't. It's awful. But yeah.
- 35:00Speaker 2: So the good, again, a long list of nearly 24 clients.
- 35:05Speaker 2: It's in the 20s. It's not good.
- 35:06Speaker 1: But hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 35:11Speaker 1: long lines. We've all been there. But when it comes
- 35:14Speaker 1: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 35:18Speaker 1: the dispensary for sports fans. Just minutes outside of Philly
- 35:22Speaker 1: with plenty of free parking. You'll be in and out fast.

- 35:56Speaker 1: service members, and healthcare pros. Camden Apothecary, top quality cannabis,
- 36:02Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans 21
- 36:04Speaker 1: and up. Everything in life comes down to choice, doesn't it?
- 36:09Speaker 1: Whether it's choosing the team you root for, who you
- 36:11Speaker 1: listen to, or how you power your home, you deserve
- 36:14Speaker 1: the freedom to choose your own adventure, and that goes
- 36:17Speaker 1: for your power bill too. Right now across the U.S.,
- 36:20Speaker 1: Americans have the potential to harness limitless, clean, affordable energy.
- 36:24Speaker 1: We could be powering our hospitals, our schools, our farms,
- 36:27Speaker 1: and so much more. In some places, this abundant local
- 36:31Speaker 1: power is already helping lower utility bills and creating jobs.
- 36:35Speaker 1: But depending on where you live, you may not have
- 36:38Speaker 1: the option to choose Limitless Energy for your household. That
- 36:41Speaker 1: has to change. We should all get to choose the
- 36:44Speaker 1: energy we pay for. Cheaper, cleaner, Limitless Energy is out there.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Let's find more ways to use it. Head over to EnergyLimitless.com
- 36:53Speaker 1: to learn more about your energy options.
- 36:56Speaker 2: And I know people have asked us this before we
- 36:59Speaker 2: moved to the Panthers. Know that they have a great
- 37:02Speaker 2: training staff. it's just bad luck. It really is. This
- 37:08Speaker 2: is not the Niners who I question the way they
- 37:11Speaker 2: do things. I know they're great. They're a really good team.
- 37:14Speaker 2: They're not a great team. They're really good. When this
- 37:16Speaker 2: happens for four years now, I know they look at
- 37:21Speaker 2: this stuff. I'm not questioning that. It's like there's something
- 37:23Speaker 2: they're missing because it's inexcusable for this to happen.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I did get a friendly text from an AFC personnel
- 37:31Speaker 1: person that I know asking me if there was a
- 37:34Speaker 1: substation built in Philadelphia. That is great, man.
- 37:39Speaker 2: No, it's just bad luck. I mean, in fact, I
- 37:43Speaker 2: don't know how they've done it so well. Because remember,
- 37:46Speaker 2: we'd laugh about the practice week for 45 minutes in
- 37:48Speaker 2: training camp. Yeah. What is this? Folks, when they first
- 37:52Speaker 2: did it, we were like, what is this? Like, this
- 37:53Speaker 2: is ridiculous. Yes. But there's a method. And then I
- 37:56Speaker 2: stopped questioning. I'm like, they know what they're doing. Hey,
- 37:59Speaker 2: we're wrong. It's great. It works.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Hey, listen, like you said, every once in a while,
- 38:03Speaker 1: the bug's going to bite and nothing you can do
- 38:05Speaker 1: about it.
- 38:05Speaker 2: Yep.
- 38:06Speaker 1: All right. So the Panthers are pretty banged up too.
- 38:09Speaker 1: You know, they've overcome some of their injuries, but I mean,
- 38:11Speaker 1: they keep piling up in bad spots for them.
- 38:13Speaker 2: All right, let's get started. So Jonathan Brooks is out who,
- 38:17Speaker 2: who would have been sharing time with Chuba, but he's
- 38:19Speaker 2: muscle core surgery came back from the devastating, the injuries.
- 38:22Speaker 1: It's a shame.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Bryce Young added with a knee, but they didn't practice
- 38:26Speaker 2: Wednesday folks. They just, they had to release an injury report.
- 38:29Speaker 2: So they released what these guys would have done if
- 38:32Speaker 2: they practiced. Young came out of the bye with a
- 38:36Speaker 2: knee issue, but he'll start. Jalen Coker, barring something unforeseen,
- 38:39Speaker 2: will be able to be in the lineup with a
- 38:40Speaker 2: quadriceps injury. Xavier Leguero is going to turn out to
- 38:43Speaker 2: be a bust. Been a disappointment. He's got a knee issue.
- 38:48Speaker 2: He's on IR. Chris Brazel, oh, man. LCL, he's out
- 38:53Speaker 2: for the season. It's such a shame because I know
- 38:55Speaker 2: he's a project, but he's really intriguing. Yep. Um, we mentioned,
- 38:59Speaker 2: is that.
- 39:00Speaker 1: A newer injury? I know he came out of Louisville, right?
- 39:03Speaker 2: No. Is that a new one? He got hurt. Okay. Yeah. Okay.
- 39:07Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Ike Iguana, as we mentioned earlier, Taylor had an injury.
- 39:10Speaker 2: He got late last season. Rashad Walker filling in for him.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Taylor Morton. He had the blood clots. Um, he started working. Uh,
- 39:17Speaker 2: you talked about it. Um, really interesting interview. I listened
- 39:20Speaker 2: to it. It's a scary thing, man. Yeah. being on
- 39:23Speaker 2: blood thinners and all that stuff. Monroe Freeling was filling
- 39:26Speaker 2: in for him. Now Monroe Freeling had a concussion. He's
- 39:29Speaker 2: off the injury report. for that. Now he's got a
- 39:30Speaker 2: knee issue. So we got to see what happens. Damian Lewis,
- 39:34Speaker 2: one of their starting guards, yet another former Seattle player.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Good player. Went healthy. Elbow. Yeah. Elbow injury. He's had
- 39:40Speaker 2: it for a couple of weeks. Got to watch that.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I mentioned Brady Christensen out IR. Defensively, Turk Wharton, Richard
- 39:46Speaker 2: Sean Wharton, but his nickname is Turk. Neck issue was
- 39:49Speaker 2: on PUP, reserve PUP. Started working on this week very light.
- 39:55Speaker 2: They're not ruling him out because he feels good. And
- 39:58Speaker 2: yet another season-ending injury. Nick Skorton out of Texas A
- 40:02Speaker 2: & M, ACL injury in training camp. So sad. Apparently
- 40:05Speaker 2: he had a great off-season from what we heard. So
- 40:08Speaker 2: he's out. JC Horn, we mentioned, torn quadriceps. Mike Jackson,
- 40:12Speaker 2: groin surgery.
- 40:13Speaker 1: That's their starting corners right there.
- 40:15Speaker 2: They're about their starting corners. Yeah. Willie, a fourth-rounder rookie
- 40:18Speaker 2: out of Texas A & M, is starting with– I
- 40:20Speaker 2: mentioned to Caleb Evans, who's– he's a fourth-corner best. He's starting.
- 40:25Speaker 2: They don't have any depth. Yeah. They're screwed. I know
- 40:29Speaker 2: you were joking earlier. You're right. Will they take advantage
- 40:31Speaker 2: of it? It's real simple. I know– and we look
- 40:35Speaker 2: at the YouTube comments, people killing Hurts. Folks, if you
- 40:38Speaker 2: isolate throws, the first two games Hurts was damn good.
- 40:43Speaker 2: You can say all the Hurts haters, you're all wrong.
- 40:45Speaker 2: He was actually really good. Yes, he sucked in week three.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Week four was shaky in the rain. If you isolate
- 40:53Speaker 2: some throws, there's some really good throws. I know he
- 40:55Speaker 2: missed some throws. I get it. But there's some encouraging signs.
- 40:58Speaker 2: We don't wave pom-poms here. We just tell you what
- 41:01Speaker 2: we see, what we know, what we hear. He's getting
- 41:03Speaker 2: better at this. I know some people are going to say, oh,
- 41:05Speaker 2: he's a temporal fit for the scheme. I'm not disagreeing,
- 41:09Speaker 2: but I'm a little bit more optimistic than you are.
- 41:11Speaker 2: And that's all I got.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I think that's fair. I just want to put, because
- 41:15Speaker 1: we went through so many names, put the perspective in
- 41:17Speaker 1: here for the Panthers and their offensive line. So their
- 41:20Speaker 1: starting two tackles are supposed to be Ike Iguanu and
- 41:23Speaker 1: Taylor Moten, who have not played yet this year.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Okay. Moten is, he did, well, like you said, it
- 41:30Speaker 1: wasn't a real practice.
- 41:31Speaker 2: It didn't sound like he, because this is a return.
- 41:33Speaker 2: He hasn't, I know Ertz did it. I get that. Yeah.
- 41:37Speaker 2: But this is a look at his condition. I don't
- 41:40Speaker 2: know what he was allowed to do.
- 41:41Speaker 1: I'm just surprised they listened to his full in his
- 41:43Speaker 1: first practice back from IR.
- 41:45Speaker 2: I didn't get the feeling he was playing this week,
- 41:47Speaker 2: but we'll see. We'll see.
- 41:49Speaker 1: But to your point, though, so who has been starting
- 41:52Speaker 1: for them was their free agent, which was, by the way,
- 41:54Speaker 1: a smart, shrewd, a one-year deal they got for Rasheed Walker,
- 41:58Speaker 1: who was the starting left tackle, and he played a
- 42:01Speaker 1: lot of positions left tackle for the Packers last year.
- 42:03Speaker 1: So it's a guy with experience, right? And then they
- 42:05Speaker 1: drafted Monroe Freeling, a guy we talked about in the
- 42:07Speaker 1: pre-draft process. We thought the Eagles might be really on him.
- 42:09Speaker 1: So they had those guys playing offensive tackle and doing
- 42:13Speaker 1: a decent job because obviously the Panthers are averaging 30
- 42:15Speaker 1: points per game. But now you got Freeling who's been hurt.
- 42:19Speaker 1: So maybe that's why they're really hoping Moten can come
- 42:22Speaker 1: back and play, which we'll have to see. I think
- 42:24Speaker 1: we'll have more information on the pregame show for that.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Real quick. So this is interesting, though, because you were
- 42:29Speaker 2: talking about the offensive line changes. So if Damian Lewis
- 42:32Speaker 2: doesn't play, he didn't play their last game?
- 42:34Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Corey Bullock, who was claimed off waivers, who was an
- 42:37Speaker 2: undrafted free agent from the Ravens two years ago, played
- 42:40Speaker 2: center and guard. He started, okay, before the bye, their
- 42:43Speaker 2: game against the Lions, which, boy, they crushed the Lions'
- 42:46Speaker 2: bad secondary. They took advantage of it. Luke Fortner, you
- 42:49Speaker 2: might remember from Jacksonville, if you really followed the NFL.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Robert Hunt is the right guard. He's a good player.
- 42:54Speaker 1: I like Robert Hunt. Pretty decent player, yeah.
- 42:57Speaker 2: Formerly of Dolphins and Freeling, who we mentioned. And they've
- 43:00Speaker 2: got Tommy Trembling Hills. That was for you, by the way.
- 43:03Speaker 1: Thank you, Fletch.
- 43:04Speaker 2: He's a good player, man. They don't use him enough
- 43:07Speaker 2: in the past game. He's a really outstanding wide tight end.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 43:11Speaker 2: But, yeah, I'll leave you with this, folks. The Eagles
- 43:16Speaker 2: have a lot of advantage this year. But can they
- 43:19Speaker 2: take advantage of it? Their defensive front gets us beat up.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Carolina front. Okay. Vic had to get out of his
- 43:26Speaker 2: comfort zone, which you mentioned with Greg. He got out
- 43:29Speaker 2: of his comfort zone. He had a blitz because if
- 43:31Speaker 2: he can't get on with four, you got to bring five. Yep.
- 43:34Speaker 2: The stunts only work so much. So I like this matchup.
- 43:37Speaker 2: It's going to be in the fifties, not the eighties.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Like it was a Wednesday for goodness sake. What the hell?
- 43:41Speaker 1: I actually enjoy the fact that it's going to be
- 43:43Speaker 1: in the fifties. I need some fall weather.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Yeah. All right.
- 43:46Speaker 1: So that is an outlook in the middle of the
- 43:48Speaker 1: week here for both teams. We'll obviously have everything covered
- 43:52Speaker 1: from soup to nuts, as they say on the inside,
- 43:54Speaker 1: the birds pregame show with Greg Cosell. We'll have some
- 43:57Speaker 1: more to check out dailies and birds weekly and inside
- 43:59Speaker 1: the data has been great. And all the wonderful shows
- 44:02Speaker 1: that we have here. on the inside the birds network.
- 44:05Speaker 1: That's going to do it for this edition of inside
- 44:08Speaker 1: the birds, the leading podcast and Eagles Intel. And as always,
- 44:11Speaker 1: we thank you for following us and flying with us
- 44:15Speaker 1: inside the birds. Be sure to check out our friends
