- 0:00Speaker 1: The Big Show Extra sponsored by Farah and Farah.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Here for You, Here for Good.
- 0:06Speaker 3: She is moving on the Big Show. How's it going
- 0:08Speaker 3: with Country ninety nine one WQYK. Look, that's Megan right
- 0:12Speaker 3: there across from me Hi, Hi.
- 0:13Speaker 4: John, Hey, how you can go today?
- 0:15Speaker 2: There she is Hill.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Good to see you, Ella Langley. Another week at the
- 0:20Speaker 3: top of her choosing Texas song. Thirteen non consecutive weeks
- 0:24Speaker 3: at the top of the pop charts. We're talking hot
- 0:26Speaker 3: one hundred stuff, We're talking all all kinds of music,
- 0:29Speaker 3: and she is number one again, one of just five
- 0:33Speaker 3: one by act known primarily for country music, so she's
- 0:37Speaker 3: way ahead of the pack of that, and she's up
- 0:39Speaker 3: there tied now with one of the biggest pop pits
- 0:41Speaker 3: for I think third overall by a woman.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Brandy and Monica The Boy Is Mine thirteen weeks at
- 0:47Speaker 1: the number of Both songs are about battling over a man. Yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 1: and we merged them together. We have a mashup. They
- 0:54Speaker 1: kind of sound similar, Yeah, mix it up a little bit,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and we start with both of them. Here here we go.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Excuse me, please talk to you for a minute.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I just want to let you know that he's mon
- 1:05Speaker 2: no he's.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Mon, che's from Texas.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I can tail by the way he's just stepping around
- 1:13Speaker 5: the room, judging by the smile tree and all his face.
- 1:20Speaker 4: There's nothing I can do.
- 1:24Speaker 5: It doesn't take a Christal bomb to see a cowboy
- 1:29Speaker 5: always fasts away drinking jack all by myself.
- 1:36Speaker 4: You see, he's choosing Texas. I can tell. Just let
- 1:40Speaker 4: us up, got in the fall in the.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Nice job shot about that?
- 1:52Speaker 2: All right, here's here's what we won't be able to do.
- 1:54Speaker 3: How are we going to mash up Ella with Whitney
- 1:56Speaker 3: Houston I Will Always Love You Next week if he
- 1:58Speaker 3: goes number one again.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Yeah it's Ella is still number one.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Next Tuesday, she'll be tied with Mariah Carey. We belong
- 2:05Speaker 1: together in Whitney Houston I Will Always Love You fourteen
- 2:09Speaker 1: weeks the record, they would all be tied for number one.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Right, and that's amazing.
- 2:12Speaker 3: The only other thing that's even it's been number one
- 2:15Speaker 3: longer is the Mariah Christmas song, which comes back every
- 2:18Speaker 3: year to be number one, which I think is kind
- 2:19Speaker 3: of nutty. But as far as the actual in the
- 2:22Speaker 3: moment song, this could be tied for the number one
- 2:25Speaker 3: most popular song by a woman ever is that.
- 2:27Speaker 6: So crazy too, that it's been so long. I mean
- 2:30Speaker 6: those songs was that early two thousand they sound.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Old Brandy Monica. Yeah, that was all around that that time.
- 2:38Speaker 6: So this long it took for a new queen to emerge.
- 2:41Speaker 3: And here's some other craziness with Ella Langle and how
- 2:43Speaker 3: big she is right now. I think I think this
- 2:47Speaker 3: is right. She has three of the top four songs
- 2:49Speaker 3: on the pop charts right now. She has be Her
- 2:51Speaker 3: we have Choos in Texas and the one she does
- 2:53Speaker 3: with Morgan, and so nobody's had like three of the
- 2:56Speaker 3: top four songs like on a chart like that on
- 2:58Speaker 3: a regular basis. And since there's like two other acts
- 3:02Speaker 3: who have ever ever ever done this, Beatles when they
- 3:05Speaker 3: first came out and the Beachees during the disco time.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Wow, that's it. And then Ella Stinking Langley right there.
- 3:13Speaker 2: That's so cool.
- 3:13Speaker 4: We're living out like a moment in history right now.
- 3:16Speaker 3: It is so historic of a girl who kind of
- 3:19Speaker 3: unassumingly came into the scene. Yeah, you know, the one
- 3:21Speaker 3: to Big Splash. No, Yeah, that's what's cool. It's so organic.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Bottom line, it's good to be Ella, Yeah, it is.
- 3:28Speaker 4: It's good to be her mailbox too. Imagine all that
- 3:30Speaker 4: money coming.
- 3:30Speaker 2: In, he says someday. Funny qik, it's the big show.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Good to be with you. And it is National hot
- 3:37Speaker 2: Dog Day.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Not to turn this into foodie Wednesday, but it is
- 3:41Speaker 3: National hot Dog Day, which we ought to really appreciate.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I love hot dogs in case meat products are my jam.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I'm a Chicago hot dog guy. You know you've got
- 3:50Speaker 1: the New York hot dogs here's are good. Yeah, but
- 3:52Speaker 1: I like the Chicago hot dogs. They've got the sport
- 3:55Speaker 1: peppers okay, yeah, a little spicy. And Larry's Giant Subbs
- 3:59Speaker 1: actually has a good Chicago dog dog.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Interesting, I saw what was that? I saw?
- 4:04Speaker 3: We saw something Maybe it was around the fourth of
- 4:06Speaker 3: July that that's not the most popular dog, which I'd
- 4:08Speaker 3: have thought a Chicago dog or New York dog would
- 4:10Speaker 3: have been big.
- 4:11Speaker 2: They were always at number one.
- 4:13Speaker 1: But there's a new number one, the Seattle style hot dog.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, what the heck is that? I never heard
- 4:19Speaker 4: of a Seattle dog.
- 4:20Speaker 2: No, I don't either. It's weird.
- 4:22Speaker 1: It's a hot dog bun that you slather with cream cheese.
- 4:26Speaker 2: What I know.
- 4:27Speaker 1: It sounds weird and then caramelized onions, and some people
- 4:31Speaker 1: put jalopinos. If you like the spiciness, I would totally
- 4:34Speaker 1: get it. With the jalapinos mostly sold at food carts
- 4:37Speaker 1: outside stadiums and late night meal outside the city's music
- 4:41Speaker 1: venues in Seattle.
- 4:42Speaker 2: I'm going to have to ask my daughter about that.
- 4:44Speaker 6: Yeah, she lives in Seattle. Yeah, I didn't really say
- 4:47Speaker 6: that hot dog.
- 4:47Speaker 2: We've never mentioned hot dogs. We never talked hot dogs.
- 4:50Speaker 6: Since she's moved, cream cheese on hot dog sounds a
- 4:53Speaker 6: little uncomfortable.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Where does that start?
- 4:54Speaker 3: I mean, it's just somebody's kitchen, you don't you know, Hey,
- 4:57Speaker 3: put some cream cheese in there.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Actually, I've done some research, did you really?
- 5:01Speaker 3: When it comes to food, Chumbley is going to be
- 5:03Speaker 3: the man. A couple of things I think are important
- 5:05Speaker 3: to note.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I cannot find a Seattle style hot dog in the
- 5:09Speaker 1: city of Jacksonville. It's the number one hot dog in
- 5:11Speaker 1: the US. Somebody better get with the program. If you
- 5:15Speaker 1: know where one is, please call us. But the Seattle
- 5:17Speaker 1: style hot dog invented in eighty nine in the Pioneer
- 5:21Speaker 1: Square neighborhood. If you're familiar with Seattle and a guy
- 5:24Speaker 1: named Hadley Long, he was a vegetarian food vendor from
- 5:27Speaker 1: of course, of course he was these vegetarian bagels and ah,
- 5:34Speaker 1: there's where the cream cheese. That's where the cream cheese
- 5:36Speaker 1: came in. In the late night crowd. He finally had
- 5:38Speaker 1: to cave in and offer meat. So he's making these
- 5:41Speaker 1: bagel dogs and it morphed from there. Seattle style hot
- 5:44Speaker 1: dogs number one hot dog in America.
- 5:48Speaker 4: This is starting to grow on me more and more.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I got to try it. I'm totally intrigued. I
- 5:53Speaker 1: just say, hot.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Dog, hot diggity dog is what I'm saying. You know
- 6:01Speaker 3: your grandson's going to have. It's the big show Country
- 6:04Speaker 3: ninety nine one w q ik Okay Camden, my two
- 6:07Speaker 3: year old grandson, and we get to watch him a lot,
- 6:10Speaker 3: which is.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Very very cool as along with his sister as well.
- 6:13Speaker 3: And so we always have music going on in our house,
- 6:15Speaker 3: so you never know which ones he's going to get
- 6:17Speaker 3: attracted to, and so he recently because the soccer has
- 6:22Speaker 3: been going on with World Cup. My wife will watch
- 6:24Speaker 3: things on YouTube and she was watching the Pavarotti thing
- 6:28Speaker 3: where that it's ness I don't know the name of it,
- 6:31Speaker 3: Nessim d'Oro or something where at the very end he's
- 6:33Speaker 3: basically saying we will win the Vicho row or whatever
- 6:36Speaker 3: it is, whatever he's trying to say. And so Camden
- 6:40Speaker 3: loves it. I mean, he'll sit there and go again
- 6:43Speaker 3: again again, And so I was swearing, I mean he
- 6:48Speaker 3: is an again kind of kid. So six months ago,
- 6:51Speaker 3: when he was merely just just turning two, you know,
- 6:54Speaker 3: he had his old different pop uh, his top list,
- 6:58Speaker 3: and so now it's been amended. Here is my grandson's
- 7:01Speaker 3: top three songs right now. Okay, this is exciting.
- 7:03Speaker 2: This is the top three? Do I should I do?
- 7:05Speaker 2: Casey Kasey number three former number one?
- 7:08Speaker 3: Here it is. It's and he used to call this
- 7:10Speaker 3: dar dark Dar. Yes, it's fallen to number three. Now
- 7:13Speaker 3: it's Chase Man.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Why was he call you doll? Why is he call
- 7:17Speaker 2: you man? Talk about again? That was like I'm just
- 7:20Speaker 2: down here being crazy. We again the.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Living crap out of that thing for and he calls
- 7:25Speaker 3: it the dar Dar song. He used to go, Dar
- 7:26Speaker 3: dark Dar dark. Oh that's hilarious. And then he give
- 7:29Speaker 3: me again and I'd go like, well, it's still playing. No, no,
- 7:31Speaker 3: he wants to hear the very beginning, no repeat exactly
- 7:37Speaker 3: trust me, you gotta love somebody a lot in order
- 7:40Speaker 3: to put up with that number two. We just talked
- 7:42Speaker 3: about it National Hot Dog Day, and here we go,
- 7:46Speaker 3: Mickey hot Dog.
- 7:50Speaker 2: That is a steady I mean that might be number
- 7:51Speaker 2: two for a few years. Like Ella Langley.
- 7:56Speaker 4: He likes Mickey and Chase Matthew.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Yes, and his number one said about this coming into
- 8:01Speaker 3: number one, Pavarotti, Bravo.
- 8:15Speaker 2: So there's his top three. Does he sing along to
- 8:17Speaker 2: that last one or make yes.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yes he does because he's watching Pavaratti giving it. You know,
- 8:23Speaker 3: he's he's doing the whole thing, and he sings the
- 8:25Speaker 3: vita room and my son, for the longest time, didn't
- 8:27Speaker 3: know what he was singing because we wouldn't tell him.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he's singing with Pavaratti nowadays. And so he
- 8:32Speaker 3: gets home and then and finally we were together and
- 8:35Speaker 3: he starts doing, uh, he wants to hear me go
- 8:37Speaker 3: Roviga whatever he called it, and then Pavarotti and my
- 8:41Speaker 3: son sitting there going, I can't believe my son's begging
- 8:44Speaker 3: to hear Pavarotti.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's hilarious.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I remember when my daughter was young, she would turn
- 8:48Speaker 1: the broom stick upside down. I eventually got her one
- 8:50Speaker 1: of those microphones with a little speaker like a Kirioke
- 8:53Speaker 1: micro tongue. But she loved to sing Carrie Underwood's before
- 8:57Speaker 1: He Cheats, Oh Yeah, which wasn't great, Like, it was
- 9:00Speaker 1: adorable that she's singing that song, but it was also
- 9:03Speaker 1: kind of creepy with the content.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Of this song.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you just staring up ninety nine one WQIK National
- 9:09Speaker 1: hot Dog Day today?
- 9:11Speaker 2: Are you celebrating? Are you planning on celebrating a little
- 9:13Speaker 2: National hot dog today?
- 9:14Speaker 6: We should be celebrating in here with these Seattle dogs
- 9:17Speaker 6: you guys are talking about.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Yeah, the number one hot dog in America now is
- 9:21Speaker 1: a Seattle dog. And here's the weird part. It's got
- 9:23Speaker 1: cream cheese.
- 9:24Speaker 2: That's odd.
- 9:25Speaker 1: And it's got the caramelized onions, jalapena. You can put
- 9:29Speaker 1: mustard on it.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I'm trying. I'm gonna try one. I'm gonna make one
- 9:32Speaker 3: if I have to. Can't find one in Jacksonville right now?
- 9:34Speaker 3: How about your hot dog?
- 9:35Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Have you all ever read the All American hot Dog?
- 9:38Speaker 1: It's been a long time. There's one right over there
- 9:40Speaker 1: on it's on Beach Boulevard.
- 9:42Speaker 3: I believe hot dogs are really good, yes, sir, especially
- 9:46Speaker 3: when they toast the bun and uh put chili on it.
- 9:49Speaker 4: And everything or coach law.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Then there's the way to go.
- 9:53Speaker 3: So you're talking chili dog with slaw from All American
- 9:55Speaker 3: Hot Dog. You're getting me hungry.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Bro Oh buddy, that's it man, that's it man.
- 9:59Speaker 2: We appreciate that call, sir. Beany goodbye, thank you, thank you.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Now I'm angry. I hear you. I am too.
- 10:05Speaker 1: I'm looking at their website, the All American Hot Dog.
- 10:08Speaker 1: They do have a tenant sausage dog, and I'm looking
- 10:10Speaker 1: at a picture of a regular hot dog with all
- 10:12Speaker 1: the chili on it looks great.
- 10:14Speaker 3: No seattle dogs, sadly, we're looking if you know of
- 10:16Speaker 3: a seattle dog here in Jacksonville. Our number is nine
- 10:19Speaker 3: oh four three eight eight thirty six ninety nine. If
- 10:21Speaker 3: you want to play the pop quiz, you use that
- 10:23Speaker 3: same number. So we'll take colors nine to ten right
- 10:25Speaker 3: now as well, because we got a pair of Dirt
- 10:27Speaker 3: Spentley concert tickets for the winner of the Pop Quiz
- 10:31Speaker 3: Country ninety nine one WQIK.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Three things you need to know, Megan, let's talk.
- 10:34Speaker 4: About the World Cup. We're getting close to the finale here.
- 10:37Speaker 6: We've got a game today at three pm, England versus Argentina.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Whoever wins that is going to face off Spain. And
- 10:44Speaker 6: I'm still a little salty because America we're not in
- 10:47Speaker 6: it and it's here. But I guess we just pick
- 10:50Speaker 6: a different team we do.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I know, imost pulling for France and they lost for
- 10:54Speaker 3: some reason. I don't know, but I'm happy Spain won
- 10:57Speaker 3: and now we've got England Argentina. Hot to that Messi guy.
- 11:01Speaker 3: You know, it's one of those things when you see greatness.
- 11:04Speaker 3: And I'm not a soccer fan fan fan, but when
- 11:06Speaker 3: you see greatness, you have to sit there and respect it.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Messi's incredible.
- 11:10Speaker 3: He is.
- 11:11Speaker 6: And the fact that he could potentially be retiring we
- 11:15Speaker 6: might not see him again.
- 11:16Speaker 4: We kind of want to root for the guy. Okay,
- 11:18Speaker 4: let's talk about McDonald's.
- 11:19Speaker 6: They're adding a Caesar sauce to their menu, a Caesar
- 11:22Speaker 6: snack Rap, bacon Caesar snack Rap.
- 11:24Speaker 4: And Mick Crispy strips.
- 11:26Speaker 6: I'm so excited about this and it's something new coming
- 11:29Speaker 6: to the West side the Jacksonville Fair at the jackson Amphitheater.
- 11:34Speaker 3: That's great. I mean, I'm looking forward to getting out
- 11:36Speaker 3: to the Jacksonville Fair. You know what we ought to do.
- 11:37Speaker 3: We ought to jump into some of the lineup that's
- 11:39Speaker 3: going to be happening. We'll do that just a couple
- 11:42Speaker 3: of minutes.
- 11:42Speaker 5: HEO.
- 11:42Speaker 6: We've got a lot of great stars coming. I'm making
- 11:44Speaker 6: that's three things you need to know.
- 11:46Speaker 3: On Thesville Fair. It's the big show with Country ninety
- 11:49Speaker 3: nine one w QIK.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Yeah, the Greater Jacksonville Agricultural Fair. They've announced their inaugural
- 11:54Speaker 1: concert lineup. This will be its first year, the first
- 11:57Speaker 1: year out there at the west side out there for
- 11:59Speaker 1: the question, and they've got a brand new ten thousand
- 12:02Speaker 1: capacity open air Amphitheater, the Jackson Amphitheater. So it's brand new.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Well christen it during the fair. It's gonna be nice.
- 12:09Speaker 1: They've had a couple of concerts there so far.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, they have, and before when they first started mentioning
- 12:13Speaker 3: they're going out to the fair out there on the
- 12:15Speaker 3: west side by the Equestrian Center. I know there used
- 12:17Speaker 3: to be that ten place at that tin roof and
- 12:20Speaker 3: that was hot and all crud, and I think, oh,
- 12:22Speaker 3: that's not going to be it, is it? No, they're
- 12:24Speaker 3: building a whole new facility out there, so it's incredible.
- 12:26Speaker 3: They've really done a good job. Yeah, it's right there
- 12:28Speaker 3: off Normandy. It's I mean, it's way out and it's
- 12:30Speaker 3: not there like off two ninety five. It's a bit
- 12:32Speaker 3: it's a far stretch, but it's still really nice out
- 12:35Speaker 3: there in the Yellow Water area. And they're building these
- 12:38Speaker 3: little like lagoon kind of communities out there too. Yeah,
- 12:41Speaker 3: so it's really exploding out there right now. But a
- 12:44Speaker 3: great lineup for the fair.
- 12:45Speaker 6: It looks like it's going to be really exciting. Lots
- 12:48Speaker 6: of country people we love coming.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, let's talk about some of this lineup, Megan, because
- 12:52Speaker 1: you've got the the goods.
- 12:54Speaker 6: Yeah, Dwight Yoakum, he's coming, Low Cash, John Morgan, Jake Owen.
- 12:59Speaker 4: I mean, this is going to be a great time.
- 13:01Speaker 6: And Grace Potter, we were talking about her earlier. She
- 13:04Speaker 6: did a song with Kenny Chesney and.
- 13:06Speaker 2: You went to keel and make me crazy.
- 13:09Speaker 6: She's talented and it's just it's so cool. But there's
- 13:12Speaker 6: other acts coming too. It's like, whatever your flavor is.
- 13:15Speaker 2: You have any great rock acts coming too, Yeah, for sure.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And a great regional Jacksonville artist is kicking things off Thursday,
- 13:22Speaker 1: November fifth, JJ Gray and Mofro.
- 13:24Speaker 3: People love them that that is the sound of Jacksonville.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Really is it really is the sound of Jacksonville. It's
- 13:30Speaker 3: a bit swampy, it's a bit country, it's a bit
- 13:31Speaker 3: rock and roll, a little bit of blues.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Great guy too, So that's a great way to kick
- 13:35Speaker 2: it off.
- 13:36Speaker 1: And they'll have some throwback two thousand pop stuff too
- 13:39Speaker 1: on November eighth. That's going to be hosted by that
- 13:41Speaker 1: Chris Kirkpatrick of in Sync Dreamy.
- 13:45Speaker 2: They'll have O Town. You remember the old boy bands
- 13:47Speaker 2: from the early two towtowns. Megan, you might like this
- 13:50Speaker 2: Ryan Cabrera LFO.
- 13:52Speaker 4: I like LFO. That one song.
- 13:54Speaker 2: What's that song?
- 13:55Speaker 4: Summer girls, summertime.
- 13:57Speaker 6: Girls, summer Yeah, he says, I like girls that like
- 14:01Speaker 6: have a Crombie and fitched.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Oh take care if I had one with Yes, I
- 14:05Speaker 4: remember that song. Oh I loved it.
- 14:07Speaker 2: It'd be a lot of fun.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Now.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Our tickets available already, yeah Jacksonville Fair dot com. And
- 14:13Speaker 1: there's a button right there, right front and center. You
- 14:16Speaker 1: just click buy tickets, you pick the show and what's
- 14:18Speaker 1: great about this is you get into the show.
- 14:22Speaker 2: You know, you buy those tickets. It comes with the
- 14:24Speaker 2: entire fair.
- 14:24Speaker 1: So you're riding the rides, You're checking out the live music,
- 14:27Speaker 1: the livestock, the fried butter, and I'm going to try
- 14:31Speaker 1: to win my wife a stuffed animal as big as
- 14:34Speaker 1: a refrigerator and walk around with that at the fairs.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Yes, I'm going to be that guy.
- 14:37Speaker 4: You'll be husband of the year.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's my goal.
- 14:39Speaker 4: We love that stuff.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Greater Jackson, Kenny, we start with you on the West side.
- 14:44Speaker 3: These actor comedian diminutive man Kevin Hart.
- 14:49Speaker 2: How old is Kevin Hart? Kenny? Fifty five? Actually older
- 14:54Speaker 2: or younger? Younger?
