- 0:00Corey, I've been looking at a truly remarkable
- 0:02success story in corporate inclusion coming out
- 0:05of Dubai. Oh, what's the headline? The headline
- 0:08is a number, 98 .02%. Wow. That's the projected
- 0:14employee happiness rate for 2025. Okay. And this
- 0:19is, get this, specifically among people of determination
- 0:22at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority,
- 0:25DEWA. Wow. 98 .02 % is an exceptionally high
- 0:30figure for any employee metric. I mean, how are
- 0:33they even achieving that? Well, it's driven by
- 0:35this comprehensive initiative called DOMJ. Okay.
- 0:39Which is, you know, the Arabic word for inclusion.
- 0:42Okay. And it's all about creating a genuinely
- 0:44supportive ecosystem, you know? Right. It provides
- 0:47targeted resources, specialized equipment. And
- 0:51it even addresses the educational needs of employees'
- 0:54children who are themselves people of determination.
- 0:57So the support extends beyond just the employee
- 1:00to their whole family. Yeah, exactly. That's
- 1:04a significant holistic approach. I mean, it's
- 1:07clear this is a deep -seated priority for the
- 1:10organization. It absolutely is. Yeah. And that
- 1:13commitment, it comes directly from the top. Hmm.
- 1:17His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al -Tayyar, the
- 1:20MD and CEO of Diwa, he put it this way. He said,
- 1:23guided by the vision of the wise leadership,
- 1:25we are committed to enhancing the inclusion and
- 1:28empowerment of people of determination. Hmm.
- 1:31Among providing a supportive and positive environment
- 1:34that takes their needs into account and helps
- 1:36them overcome challenges. This ensures their
- 1:39effective participation in development and prosperity
- 1:42on an equal basis with others. Right. And he
- 1:45goes on, we continue to focus on improving quality
- 1:48of life, supporting independent living and providing
- 1:51equal opportunities for excellence and innovation.
- 1:54Wow. Thus, helping people of determination to
- 1:57unleash their full potential. That's a powerful
- 2:00statement. That focus on equal participation
- 2:03and helping people unleash their full potential,
- 2:06it just moves the whole conversation from simple
- 2:09accommodation to genuine empowerment. Right.
- 2:13And I understand Dhamj is just one piece of the
- 2:16puzzle? That's right. It complements other programs.
- 2:18Okay. So, for instance, you have the Siddiqui
- 2:21Initiative, which assigns trained colleagues
- 2:23to support each employee. Right. The Absher Office
- 2:27streamlines HR procedures, and they even have
- 2:30programs for psychological and legal consultancy.
- 2:33And they also have the Omniti Initiative, right,
- 2:36which actually fulfills wishes for employees
- 2:38who are people of determination? Exactly. It's
- 2:41this multi -layered strategy that addresses professional
- 2:44needs, personal well -being, and even individual
- 2:48aspirations. It's a powerful model of what true
- 2:51inclusion can look like. Now here's a question
- 2:54we'd like you to think about. As companies worldwide
- 2:57look to improve diversity and inclusion, what
- 3:00is the single most important lesson they can
- 3:02learn from Diwa's multifaceted and, really, deeply
- 3:06human -centric approach?
