- 0:04Speaker 1: up.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Shock circuit with Sonya and Joakim.
- 0:09Speaker 1: 7. Joakim's here and um he's eagerly awaiting the story.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm very sure. I mean, or whether he knows the
- 0:15Speaker 1: story already actually. I was sharing yesterday that I received
- 0:18Speaker 1: the most hilarious text from you on Sunday night. It
- 0:21Speaker 1: wasn't at all hilarious. OK, I use the words hilariously painful. Yes, OK,
- 0:27Speaker 1: so I said it's Sonia's story to tell, but I
- 0:29Speaker 1: cannot wait. It involves a random Sunday afternoon and a
- 0:33Speaker 1: paddle game. Yeah, so I, I'm just gonna very quickly
- 0:36Speaker 1: say it and then I'll.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I repeat it again later on, later in the show.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Let's do it. But um I fell again. I twisted
- 0:43Speaker 1: my ankle again for the 3rd time in a year,
- 0:47Speaker 1: if I'm not wrong. OK, it's the same. It's the
- 0:50Speaker 1: same foot. So twice, it involved being in a paddle game.
- 0:55Speaker 1: The 2nd time that it happened, which was just before this,
- 0:58Speaker 1: I tripped because I missed a step outside my Pilates class.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Do you remember? And then I fell, that one wasn't
- 1:04Speaker 1: so bad because I felt, yeah, OK, my
- 1:06Speaker 1: I had like an abrasion on my left knee, but
- 1:09Speaker 1: my ankle was just, I think it was mild. It
- 1:11Speaker 1: was a mild twist. So it was OK in like
- 1:12Speaker 1: a few days. But my mistake was that I continued
- 1:15Speaker 1: to do like other things and you know, like Pilates
- 1:18Speaker 1: and sports and like whatever without wearing an ankle guard
- 1:22Speaker 1: because I thought like, oh, I felt fine. It felt
- 1:24Speaker 1: fine I aggravated it, yeah. And then on Sunday, which, yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 1: Sunday evening, I played a game and um twisted it again.
- 1:34Speaker 1: So I finally went to like a doctor because my
- 1:36Speaker 1: mom was like, why don't you just make use of
- 1:38Speaker 1: your insurance plan, right? She said, why don't you just
- 1:40Speaker 1: go and use your personal accident plan? I was like, yeah, OK,
- 1:42Speaker 1: good idea. Um, so he said, not necessarily just yet
- 1:47Speaker 1: until two weeks later till I go see him again.
- 1:50Speaker 1: But he did some, you know, tests and he said,
- 1:52Speaker 1: did you know that you have loose joints?
- 1:55Speaker 1: This whole time, like this entire time, I was probably
- 1:58Speaker 1: born with it, like loose joints. So we always knew
- 2:02Speaker 1: that I was double-jointed like because I'm very flexible, right?
- 2:05Speaker 1: But when he, when he like tested my ankle joints
- 2:08Speaker 1: and all that, he was like, yeah, it's, it's very loose,
- 2:10Speaker 1: likely you're born with it, born with it like that. So,
- 2:13Speaker 1: which means I should be, I'm extra flexible, but I
- 2:17Speaker 1: should be extra careful when I'm doing anything.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Even when I'm like brisk walking or running, he was
- 2:23Speaker 1: like you should probably wear a guard at all times.
- 2:26Speaker 1: At this point, don't brisk walking and running. Yeah, no,
- 2:31Speaker 1: be safe. I am being safe. I even wear the
- 2:34Speaker 1: right shoes and everything, but it's just because my ankle
- 2:37Speaker 1: is weak. That's why, yeah. So, so even I can't,
- 2:40Speaker 1: I can't do running or walking either. That's what he's saying, yeah. So, um,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I can't, I'm out of like any sort of running action,
- 2:48Speaker 1: not that I run anyway.
- 2:50Speaker 1: OK. But yeah, um, I'll find other ways to, you know.
- 2:55Speaker 1: What about swimming then for you? Maybe swimming, not for
- 2:57Speaker 1: now though, because it still involves, it still involves your
- 3:00Speaker 1: like leg movements and your ankle movements the picture you
- 3:03Speaker 1: sent me of your ankle was damn swollen, right?
- 3:06Speaker 1: Fattest I've ever seen ankle. It was a cankle. It
- 3:09Speaker 1: was really a canker. The swelling has come down, as
- 3:12Speaker 1: you can tell today. So I'm just, you know, not
- 3:15Speaker 1: to show you my foot in the morning, but I'm
- 3:17Speaker 1: elevating my right foot. It's alright. It's like a trotter,
- 3:20Speaker 1: you know.
- 3:22Speaker 1: It seems like 2026 has been a year of pranks,
- 3:26Speaker 1: especially pranks. Yes, scandals, but I'm sure we already know
- 3:32Speaker 1: what has been going on in social media space right now.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Every month, you know, there's something, right. Um, big shout
- 3:39Speaker 1: out to our unofficial friend Yolo on social media. Um,
- 3:43Speaker 1: he always does these compilations on like what's been going on.
- 3:47Speaker 1: In, in Singapore, especially, and he's officially filled up the
- 3:50Speaker 1: calendar all the way to August. Each month has an
- 3:53Speaker 1: iconic character from Singapore. YOLO's year-end for this year it's
- 3:59Speaker 1: gonna slap, dude, it's, it's gonna be like a three-part series,
- 4:02Speaker 1: I think. If you don't know what we're talking about,
- 4:04Speaker 1: just go search Y E O L O. OK. Yeah. Anyway,
- 4:07Speaker 1: coming up in just a bit.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Um, another prank yet again regarding a vending machine. Joakim.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Did you talk about this yesterday? I'm not sure. It
- 4:15Speaker 1: came out last night if I'm not wrong. I think
- 4:17Speaker 1: it broke last night. It, yeah, yesterday evening, but I
- 4:19Speaker 1: know what you're talking about because, hey, can we leave
- 4:22Speaker 1: our vending machines alone. We need them. Hello 2026 brought
- 4:27Speaker 1: to you by the pranksters that cannot leave our vending machines.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Alone, apparently. This is like the 2nd time. Wait, did
- 4:34Speaker 1: the juice thing this year as well? I feel like
- 4:37Speaker 1: it was this year or was it the end of
- 4:39Speaker 1: last year? Oh, I have to check now. Anyway, he
- 4:41Speaker 1: got dealt with this year, I guess his court case
- 4:43Speaker 1: was this year. So anyway, I'm taking you to my
- 4:46Speaker 1: old hood, Downtown East. Hey hey, I used to live
- 4:50Speaker 1: in Pasir Ris like half my life, right? And
- 4:52Speaker 1: Downtown East was an area that I would always walk
- 4:55Speaker 1: by or go to sometimes with my friends. Downtown East Marquee,
- 4:59Speaker 1: and they've actually revamped Downtown East a couple of times.
- 5:03Speaker 1: It's actually quite nice. I don't know when was the
- 5:06Speaker 1: last time you've been to Downtown East. Actually, I was
- 5:10Speaker 1: there in the month of June for the media preview
- 5:12Speaker 1: for the NDP. They hosted.
- 5:16Speaker 1: So I was walking around the area saying wow, this
- 5:18Speaker 1: is Sonia's old hood. But it's not the Downtown that
- 5:22Speaker 1: I remember when I was a kid. Yeah, but that
- 5:25Speaker 1: place also used to be the area where they housed
- 5:27Speaker 1: the Singapore Idol contestants 20 years ago. So I recognize
- 5:32Speaker 1: the few areas heading towards Wild Wild West or the chalets,
- 5:36Speaker 1: yeah we were housed there. Yeah, wow.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So mixed, mixed emotions, I'm sure like when you see it, yeah, exactly, exactly.
- 5:45Speaker 1: So over in Downtown East, unfortunately, I feel quite bad
- 5:48Speaker 1: for these business owners. This vending machine got tampered with, OK.
- 5:52Speaker 1: So this boy was caught on CCTV because every vending
- 5:55Speaker 1: machine I think now has like a camera installed somewhere,
- 5:58Speaker 1: just in case of theft or any like mischief.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Or anything at all. They at least have the footage, right? Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 1: to get something or whatever they're up to. This boy
- 6:07Speaker 1: allegedly put an out of order sign on a vending
- 6:11Speaker 1: machine in Downtown East, and this is not just like,
- 6:15Speaker 1: it's not one of those big chain type of vending
- 6:18Speaker 1: machines that you see everywhere, OK. It's not like your,
- 6:21Speaker 1: I don't know what Sunshine bread machines or those big companies.
- 6:24Speaker 1: It's unfortunately a small local business and this vending machine
- 6:29Speaker 1: is a big source of their income, OK. So what
- 6:33Speaker 1: this boy, I guess, did not realize is that he
- 6:36Speaker 1: thought he was being funny lah, by putting the out
- 6:38Speaker 1: of order sign, right?
- 6:39Speaker 1: But he actually affected, could have possibly affected two full days'
- 6:43Speaker 1: worth of sales for this small business owner. Can I ask,
- 6:47Speaker 1: does it say how the boy? He honestly, he looks,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'm just judging from the because nothing has been released
- 6:52Speaker 1: so far about his identity or anything. I would say
- 6:55Speaker 1: based off the, the CCTV footage, he looks like maybe
- 6:59Speaker 1: 11 or 12. I feel 11 or 12. Yeah. So
- 7:04Speaker 1: no information.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I don't want to go on a rant here. All
- 7:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna say is I was like that. No, honestly, yes, I,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I was that primary school or secondary school boy, right,
- 7:15Speaker 1: egged on by friends to do some nonsense and all that,
- 7:19Speaker 1: you know, the bus signs last time in the very
- 7:21Speaker 1: old buses, they had the metal bus, the metal plate
- 7:26Speaker 1: at the back, yeah, so yeah, we got egg to,
- 7:29Speaker 1: you know, take it or flip it around and all that.
- 7:32Speaker 1: No, no, honestly, so yes, it's, it's the foolishness of youth.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I get it, and your friend saying, Hey, go la,
- 7:38Speaker 1: you scared. Is it scared? Is it, so you want
- 7:39Speaker 1: to show that you're cool and you do that, and
- 7:41Speaker 1: you don't think about the consequences until you get caught.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But also back then when you were taking the bus
- 7:47Speaker 1: and all that, they didn't have CCTV on, on the bus. No,
- 7:49Speaker 1: the uncle can see he can see. There was once
- 7:52Speaker 1: I got caught. How does he see? Is the mirrors
- 7:55Speaker 1: or something? OK, OK. So I got caught. The school
- 7:58Speaker 1: got called as well.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It was quite embarrassing. Learned my lesson from then on. Yes,
- 8:03Speaker 1: you did other things, right? No more, no more. That
- 8:05Speaker 1: was the last one. I promise no more. I stopped
- 8:07Speaker 1: after that. Yes, it works. I want to say good morning. OK,
- 8:12Speaker 1: we usually don't do this via text, but we received
- 8:17Speaker 1: quite a nice one today from the initials MG MG,
- 8:23Speaker 1: I think that's the name, could be like a Meredith Goh.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Just random or a Mary Kuo, OK, no random names, right?
- 8:31Speaker 1: I don't think so. Hey Sonia and Joakim, I love
- 8:34Speaker 1: this segment because I've always wanted to call, but I'm
- 8:36Speaker 1: very shy. Ah yeah, we understand, not to worry, but
- 8:39Speaker 1: I want to give my school a shout out, Saint Margaret's.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Hello Saint Marks. Hey, I don't think we've had a
- 8:45Speaker 1: caller from Saint Mark's, did we? We had MGS, but
- 8:48Speaker 1: I'm not sure about Saint Mark's. We've gone down.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Saint Mark's, yeah, I wanna, I wanna give a shout
- 8:53Speaker 1: out to my class and my teachers for always believing
- 8:56Speaker 1: in us. It's a very important year for us. It's PSLE. Oh,
- 8:59Speaker 1: that means the oral exams just happened. Yeah, I'm very
- 9:03Speaker 1: stressed out, but thankfully we have good company in school
- 9:06Speaker 1: and on radio as well. Can you please play me
- 9:09Speaker 1: anything from Blackpink? OK, I'm on it right now.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Type something from Blackpink. Hopefully you will enjoy it. Let's
- 9:16Speaker 1: see what you see, let me see, let me see,
- 9:18Speaker 1: let me see. Pick something upbeat for all of us.
- 9:21Speaker 1: There's so, there's, should I go like, um, a little
- 9:24Speaker 1: more throwback or should I do something more recent? OK.
- 9:28Speaker 1: What do you think?back. Can we play? OK, I got it.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I got it. Alright, this is, this is a bit
- 9:35Speaker 1: of a.
- 9:36Speaker 1: for us. Who's ever ready to be honest this early
- 9:39Speaker 1: in the morning? Your body isn't ready to wake up.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Your liver might not be ready to consume all the drinks. OK,
- 9:46Speaker 1: tell us clucky and boat. What's going on with the
- 9:49Speaker 1: new liquor laws? OK, I don't know if you felt it,
- 9:52Speaker 1: but apparently last year there was a pilot to allow
- 9:56Speaker 1: some places to sell liquor.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Through maybe say 4 a.m. in the morning extended hours,
- 10:03Speaker 1: so the powers that be have decided, OK, the crime
- 10:06Speaker 1: rate over there still remains stable, everything looks good, we're
- 10:10Speaker 1: gonna allow 92 bars and clubs to sell alcohol until
- 10:16Speaker 1: 4 a.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
- 10:21Speaker 1: In which area specifically or across the island? Boy. So
- 10:25Speaker 1: I believe your Thursdays and Fridays could be ladies' night
- 10:28Speaker 1: on Wednesdays. So they start early then you once you
- 10:31Speaker 1: pass midnight, it counts as Thursdays. I wonder whether the
- 10:35Speaker 1: whole concept of ladies' night thing because Thursdays have become
- 10:38Speaker 1: more of a party night compared to Wednesdays, you know, so.
- 10:42Speaker 1: I don't know whether they label it ladies' nights anymore.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Please correct me if I'm wrong. So the extended hours
- 10:48Speaker 1: actually kick in today. Oh nice. So Tuesday, 18th of August,
- 10:53Speaker 1: so you gotta wait maybe one more day before you
- 10:55Speaker 1: enjoy alcohol responsibly, of course, till 4 a.m. in the morning.
- 11:00Speaker 1: You know, I have to say this had to be done.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Have you been around Boaty and Clark Quay recently? Clark Quay, yes.
- 11:08Speaker 1: And what do you think?
- 11:10Speaker 1: It's quite quiet now, right, compared to last time. I'm
- 11:12Speaker 1: gonna make a small prediction here. I'm very sure if
- 11:15Speaker 1: I were to step into Future Capital, I will see
- 11:18Speaker 1: the same faces that I saw 10 years ago.
- 11:21Speaker 1: At these spots, you're not wrong. I mean, yes and no,
- 11:26Speaker 1: because I mean, I'm sure with the revamp, maybe there
- 11:28Speaker 1: are new people. I don't know, but in the Clark
- 11:31Speaker 1: Quy area, it really needs a rejuvenation in terms of people,
- 11:35Speaker 1: the people, the people need to go back to Clark Quay,
- 11:37Speaker 1: you know what I mean? So I think they are
- 11:39Speaker 1: asking for more suggestions on how they can revamp Clark
- 11:42Speaker 1: and Boat Key and hey, the pilot also saw 37
- 11:47Speaker 1: applications for new nightlife businesses approved.
- 11:51Speaker 1: It could be your KTVs or bars or pubs or
- 11:54Speaker 1: even a new club. Yeah, so, um, we'll we'll see
- 11:57Speaker 1: where this goes, but I think when it comes down
- 11:59Speaker 1: to like the millennial and the Gen Z generation and
- 12:03Speaker 1: maybe even Gen alphas who are going to start being
- 12:06Speaker 1: legal very soon, the patterns of partying and drinking always change.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I mean, Sonia and I come from a time where
- 12:12Speaker 1: we can name a lot of sports like, MOS, but we're,
- 12:17Speaker 1: you're not talking about the current rebel.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Older one over. Now I believe people might say. Yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 1: so I find myself going to Bay and Milli like
- 12:28Speaker 1: more often now. So the smaller format clubs are actually
- 12:32Speaker 1: doing really, really well. Milly's another bar, bar, yeah. I
- 12:37Speaker 1: don't know whether it's a Cherry or Drip still a thing.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I don't know if Cherry is still around actually. The
- 12:42Speaker 1: one that used to be at Orchard, before you go
- 12:46Speaker 1: to Dhoby Ghaut is the club still there, Drip, or
- 12:48Speaker 1: did they shift somewhere else? I'm not sure.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not a frequent person. So for me, I'm
- 12:51Speaker 1: usually now at another bar, Base or Millie, like either
- 12:55Speaker 1: one of these three. And I introduced Joe to another
- 12:58Speaker 1: bar actually. Oh, I will gladly go there. There we
- 13:00Speaker 1: go about what we can and cannot bring into Singapore,
- 13:04Speaker 1: especially when it comes down to luxury items that you
- 13:07Speaker 1: did not declare. Yeah, I mean, the word is in
- 13:11Speaker 1: play here, declare. So I've actually almost got into trouble before.
- 13:14Speaker 1: I think I told you this. I'm not sure if
- 13:16Speaker 1: I said it on air, but years ago.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Um, I actually had, um, a trip, right? And this
- 13:23Speaker 1: trip involved me bringing a few luxury bags that are
- 13:26Speaker 1: on loan to go and shoot overseas, OK? So they
- 13:30Speaker 1: tagged on to the, to my trip and said like, oh,
- 13:33Speaker 1: could you do this, you know, part of this campaign.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I was like, sure, OK. So I think I brought
- 13:36Speaker 1: like 3 luxury bags in total.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I think as long as you as you have documentation,
- 13:43Speaker 1: I know, I know. So it's a loan, what happened
- 13:46Speaker 1: was when I came back to Singapore, right, I got
- 13:50Speaker 1: pulled over to scan my bag as I usually always do.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. And
- 13:56Speaker 1: um anyway, put my bag through it and obviously, you know,
- 13:59Speaker 1: they said they saw something inside. Can we open your bag?
- 14:02Speaker 1: Guess what?
- 14:03Speaker 1: When I tried to open my, my luggage, it wouldn't open.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Because whatever happened in the Europe airport, right, I think
- 14:12Speaker 1: they must have thrown my luggage quite roughly, um, and
- 14:15Speaker 1: my lock broke. So, so it looked extra suss. So
- 14:19Speaker 1: I said, bro, like I really want to open this
- 14:21Speaker 1: bag for you, but let me tell you what's inside, OK,
- 14:23Speaker 1: I explained to you. I explained the whole story, and
- 14:26Speaker 1: I said, I can even send photos to you after that.
- 14:28Speaker 1: It says, not for sale. This is a sample. It
- 14:31Speaker 1: says that on the bag.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So yeah, he said, OK, OK, fine. Yeah, yeah, they did,
- 14:36Speaker 1: they did. I said I go to my Instagram, it's there.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But I think the reason why they do this as
- 14:42Speaker 1: well is because, you know, aside from carrying cash where
- 14:45Speaker 1: you must declare as well. I mean, all your luxury
- 14:48Speaker 1: bags and maybe even your expensive wine or bottle of spirits,
- 14:52Speaker 1: whatever you like to drink, right? It could also be
- 14:54Speaker 1: seen as a sort of currency. Yeah, yeah, and I
- 14:56Speaker 1: don't blame them. I mean they were very sharp about it,
- 14:58Speaker 1: but I think they were also, you know, they, they
- 15:00Speaker 1: were reasonable in the sense that I explained my case, right,
- 15:04Speaker 1: and I said I can send you the proof if
- 15:05Speaker 1: you want. But anyway.
- 15:07Speaker 1: For this particular woman, unfortunately, she attempted to bring in
- 15:11Speaker 1: jewelry purchased overseas into Singapore. Looking at the pictures, I
- 15:15Speaker 1: think I see some gold, some gems. Um, she didn't
- 15:18Speaker 1: declare them and the jewelry was valued at about $10,512. OK.
- 15:27Speaker 1: And the GST that was evaded amounted to close to $1000. So,
- 15:32Speaker 1: she arrived in Singapore, she didn't declare anything, but during checks,
- 15:38Speaker 1: ICA officers discovered 23 pieces of jewelry belonging to her,
- 15:43Speaker 1: which is quite a lot.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Um, and 21 out of 23 were gold solid jewelry.
- 15:49Speaker 1: So this, you know, amounts to quite a bit. I,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I the ICA, of course I suspect you of something. So, unfortunately,
- 16:00Speaker 1: she got fined $11,400 which is actually worth a bit
- 16:05Speaker 1: more than the jewelry. Ouch, that's almost one bracelet. Honestly,
- 16:09Speaker 1: if she just paid the $40.
- 16:11Speaker 1: $6 GST, she would have been, she would have been safe.
- 16:15Speaker 1: But instead, you know, now she's being fined $11,000 so that,
- 16:18Speaker 1: that's very, very unfortunate. Um, but our friends who are
- 16:21Speaker 1: at Singapore customs are now reminding all of us, hey,
- 16:24Speaker 1: please just declare and pay the GST or the duties.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It's so simple now, customs at SG, it's a website,
- 16:32Speaker 1: web application. You can just do it online right now.
- 16:34Speaker 1: It's not so complicated compared to like our parents' time,
- 16:36Speaker 1: you know.
- 16:37Speaker 1: So let this be a reminder before the September holidays
- 16:40Speaker 1: and even your November and Decembers as well. Exactly. And
- 16:43Speaker 1: especially if you go to, I don't know, like Europe
- 16:46Speaker 1: or US, there's plenty of shopping to be done, right?
- 16:48Speaker 1: For sure. The collections are very different. So yeah, just
- 16:51Speaker 1: watch out for that and be alert. Just want to
- 16:54Speaker 1: get this out there because I think um Jeremy, my
- 16:56Speaker 1: husband is still at a paddle game and he won't
- 16:58Speaker 1: hear this. OK, so I better say it now. I mean,
- 17:01Speaker 1: for the fact that his friends tune in.
- 17:04Speaker 1: You can rest assured they will text him like, hey,
- 17:07Speaker 1: never mind, never mind, your wife said this about you
- 17:09Speaker 1: on air again. So let me just quickly tell you
- 17:12Speaker 1: what happened this morning, OK? OK. He woke up and
- 17:14Speaker 1: chose violence, you know. So I hang on, violence for
- 17:17Speaker 1: the world or violence for you? For my mental health.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Wait, let me tell you first what happened. I'm on
- 17:24Speaker 1: the fence. Hey, you are my friend or you're his friend?
- 17:27Speaker 1: Can you tell the story first? OK, but you're my friend, right?
- 17:30Speaker 1: You're my friend, right? I'm your friend. You're my friend,
- 17:33Speaker 1: so gonna be on my side, OK? Would you lie
- 17:35Speaker 1: to you? OK, hold on. Hear the story first la. OK.
- 17:39Speaker 1: So I, I got up and he got up shortly after.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I was quite surprised he got up extra early today.
- 17:46Speaker 1: So it turns out he had a game at 7 a.m. OK.
- 17:49Speaker 1: So he, he goes, he needs to have this whole
- 17:51Speaker 1: thing where he does his whole breakfast thing and like
- 17:53Speaker 1: I don't know what else he does, pack his stuff
- 17:54Speaker 1: and all that and go like any other normal person. OK. OK, anyway, he,
- 17:58Speaker 1: you're already defending him. I haven't even told you the
- 18:00Speaker 1: story yet. Why are you defending him? Keep going on. Yes,
- 18:03Speaker 1: I'm listening. Um, he wanted to take out the, you know, this,
- 18:09Speaker 1: you know, this French press, um, coffee.
- 18:12Speaker 1: What would you call this, uh, coffee, French press thing
- 18:15Speaker 1: that I have here?
- 18:17Speaker 1: What would you like a kettle almost. Dispenser kettle. Yeah.
- 18:23Speaker 1: So it's, it's, it's glass, it's made of glass, right?
- 18:26Speaker 1: So he has one at home as well. It's a
- 18:28Speaker 1: bigger French press. And um we both share it, OK.
- 18:33Speaker 1: So he was like getting his coffee ready and I
- 18:36Speaker 1: walked into the kitchen and he goes, um, there's a
- 18:40Speaker 1: crack in the French press. And I was like, oh,
- 18:43Speaker 1: is it?
- 18:44Speaker 1: I was like, what happened? Then he said, I don't know,
- 18:46Speaker 1: it must be the person who used it last.
- 18:53Speaker 1: OK, what's the problem here? What is the problem here?
- 18:57Speaker 1: You see, as a man, Jeremy exonerated himself. He didn't
- 19:03Speaker 1: blame you. He's blaming me. No, he didn't blame you
- 19:06Speaker 1: when he said, Oh, must be the person that used it.
- 19:09Speaker 1: He's implying that it's me. No, no, no. He didn't
- 19:13Speaker 1: blame you directly. He said the person who used it last,
- 19:18Speaker 1: it could be him. Yeah, but it's the way that
- 19:19Speaker 1: you said it.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yeah, must be the person who used it la. Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 1: it could be. Hey, hey, OK, so anyway, I got
- 19:29Speaker 1: triggered because I was like, are you implying that I,
- 19:31Speaker 1: because I did use it. I did use it. But
- 19:34Speaker 1: I was very, I didn't drop it or anything. I
- 19:36Speaker 1: didn't crack it. I didn't like wash it really hard, nothing.
- 19:39Speaker 1: There were no incidents when I used it.
- 19:43Speaker 1: OK. So with that one phrase, I got triggered already
- 19:46Speaker 1: in the morning.
- 19:48Speaker 1: And I was like, are you implying that I'm the
- 19:51Speaker 1: one that broke it? Because it wasn't me, OK? Can
- 19:54Speaker 1: you prove it?
- 19:55Speaker 1: No, I can't prove it, obviously. I mean, it, it
- 19:58Speaker 1: must be a small crack that it could have happened
- 20:00Speaker 1: a while ago and none of us noticed it. So
- 20:02Speaker 1: this little thing that you have in the studio, yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 1: it's a French press. OK, I've seen you use it
- 20:08Speaker 1: and I've seen you, like, you know, not throw it around,
- 20:11Speaker 1: but it, you know, walk around a bit carelessly. It's fine.
- 20:16Speaker 1: It takes quite a bit of effort to crack. I'm
- 20:18Speaker 1: just staring at it now. See, I'm pouring myself some coffee.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it works. Yes, OK, but I don't know what
- 20:26Speaker 1: Jeremy is like at home, but having seen you and
- 20:29Speaker 1: the way you treat some of your things, I would
- 20:32Speaker 1: not be surprised if there are cracks somewhere around the area.
- 20:35Speaker 1: So you're on his side. I'm just being honest, sons. Yeah,
- 20:39Speaker 1: but what if it's him? Maybe he cracked it. OK,
- 20:42Speaker 1: then there needs to be CCTV footage, one small crack.
- 20:47Speaker 1: But how would you even catch that? Like, honestly, I
- 20:50Speaker 1: don't know anyway.
- 20:51Speaker 1: It was just a choice of words. Maybe he's attentive
- 20:55Speaker 1: to detail than you are. Think about it. I'm attentive
- 20:58Speaker 1: to detail. Really? I am. I would notice if there's
- 21:01Speaker 1: a crack.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Maybe he cracked it this morning when he was washing it.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Then blame you I don't think so. He doesn't come
- 21:09Speaker 1: across that kind of petty. OK lah, I take his
- 21:10Speaker 1: side again. OK. Alright. I know where your loyalties lie.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I know whose friend you are. OK. I'm beingpublic with
- 21:18Speaker 1: Give me something. I'm turning his mic off right now
- 21:20Speaker 1: on 987. Don't go anywhere.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Kop. Your next Makan is sorted with Bagusse by Kopitia
- 21:30Speaker 1: with 11 outlets islandwide. My apologies. What happened there? My
- 21:36Speaker 1: reflexes weren't fast enough. Must be must be the person
- 21:39Speaker 1: manning the panels. I went to take a sip of
- 21:42Speaker 1: water and the song ended in like 5 seconds. So
- 21:46Speaker 1: what time is it now? Tell us. We're supposed to,
- 21:48Speaker 1: we're supposed to talk about what we're opening up phone
- 21:50Speaker 1: lines for next. OK, fine. So be on standby.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Go ahead. live radio. 669-11987 or 90050987. I want to
- 22:01Speaker 1: bring this up for discussion, Sonia. It's our founding prime
- 22:05Speaker 1: minister during his tenure as senior minister, which is from,
- 22:11Speaker 1: let me get the dates right, November 1990 to August 2004.
- 22:17Speaker 1: So apparently he was using
- 22:19Speaker 1: This Mont Blanc Meisterstuck fountain pen, yes, classic, OK, it
- 22:24Speaker 1: is sold at an auction for almost 10 times the
- 22:28Speaker 1: previous auction price that it was sold for. Did they
- 22:32Speaker 1: say who bought it or it's anonymous? I'm pretty sure
- 22:34Speaker 1: there are details there, OK, but can I list you
- 22:37Speaker 1: the price that it sold for the previous auction? OK.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Previous auction $52,000.
- 22:45Speaker 1: In the most recent auction, this Mont Blanc Meisterstruck fountain pen,
- 22:51Speaker 1: it sold for $461,500. Wow, must be a private collector
- 22:56Speaker 1: or something. Yeah, so apparently this pen has the engraving
- 23:01Speaker 1: SM Lee Kuan Yew on it and I was doing
- 23:04Speaker 1: some research. Market value of this pen now is about
- 23:06Speaker 1: $1000 plus plus. So for it to fetch $400.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And 61,000++ dollars. this is a piece of history. I
- 23:14Speaker 1: know you can't put a price to that. I understand.
- 23:17Speaker 1: When we come back here on the circuit, have in mind,
- 23:19Speaker 1: would you want something from someone like a figure or
- 23:21Speaker 1: something or a sports figure even? OK, I have something
- 23:26Speaker 1: in mind. I have something in mind. OK, OK, I'll
- 23:29Speaker 1: tell you later.
- 23:30Speaker 1: And you tell me yours also, OK? Let's do it. OK,
- 23:32Speaker 1: so we're going to open up phone lines, 669-11987, all
- 23:36Speaker 1: because this particular item from the late Mr. Lee Kuan
- 23:41Speaker 1: Yew sold off for an incredible amount of money. It's
- 23:44Speaker 1: the Mont Blanc Meisters struck fountain pen. Hopefully I'm saying
- 23:49Speaker 1: that correctly. And I think it was made in the
- 23:52Speaker 1: 90s to early 2000s. So if I were to be
- 23:56Speaker 1: very specific.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Um, it has like an 180 nib. It's made in
- 24:02Speaker 1: sterling silver and I'm trying to Google like what the
- 24:05Speaker 1: retail price would be in this day and age. It
- 24:08Speaker 1: should be about 1000. Yeah, it stands around there, but
- 24:12Speaker 1: his pen sold at an auction for $461,500. Wow, that's
- 24:20Speaker 1: actually crazy. But hey, a part of history, man. So
- 24:24Speaker 1: you asked me earlier if I could, um,
- 24:27Speaker 1: Inherit something or buy something like a collection or an
- 24:30Speaker 1: item from a famous person, what would it be, right? OK.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Sonia's Stanley Cup.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Actually, you might be wondering why I haven't brought my
- 24:41Speaker 1: Stanley Cup to the office recently. I left it at
- 24:44Speaker 1: the photo studio last week. I haven't gone back to
- 24:48Speaker 1: get it yet. You and that Stanley Cup wasn't was
- 24:51Speaker 1: not meant to be, but OK, give me your answer. Yeah. Um,
- 24:55Speaker 1: so this might be interesting and you might be thinking
- 24:57Speaker 1: I will say someone like a famous politician or, uh,
- 25:00Speaker 1: you know, public figure. Actually, it's Kendall Jenner's car collection.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It's her vintage car collection. I would love to own that.
- 25:10Speaker 1: So in her vintage car collection, she has very hard
- 25:13Speaker 1: to find um types of vehicles that you just won't
- 25:16Speaker 1: usually see on the roads. OK. So, um, from Porsches
- 25:21Speaker 1: to uh to, to, you know, your very vintage Mercedes,
- 25:25Speaker 1: things that you just can't find on the market right now.
- 25:27Speaker 1: So if you just go do a quick search on
- 25:29Speaker 1: social media, Kendall Jenner's vintage car collection, you'll be very
- 25:33Speaker 1: pleasantly surprised because the girl has good taste when it
- 25:36Speaker 1: comes to automobiles. Good, good.
- 25:38Speaker 1: For me, I think I'll go something sports related. I'll
- 25:41Speaker 1: bid for maybe a signed Ronaldo jersey or a Messi
- 25:47Speaker 1: jersey or if, for example, Ronaldo puts his watch up
- 25:50Speaker 1: for auction, that's gonna go into the millions. Yeah, I
- 25:53Speaker 1: don't even think I have the money to buy it
- 25:55Speaker 1: or auction for it or bid for it. I'm not wrong,
- 25:57Speaker 1: Ronaldo has a very expensive Jacob Jacob and watch. I
- 26:02Speaker 1: can't remember how much it was, but it was in
- 26:03Speaker 1: the millions, I think. It's made exclusively for him.
- 26:07Speaker 1: I mean, Drake recently had Rolex made an exclusive iced
- 26:11Speaker 1: out Rolex for him that's one of one. So a
- 26:14Speaker 1: lot of these collectibles, normal people like us cannot buy lah,
- 26:17Speaker 1: and we don't have the money to buy it also
- 26:19Speaker 1: like a handwritten note or former President Barack Obama. I
- 26:25Speaker 1: would like to bid for it, frame it up. There
- 26:28Speaker 1: you go. OK, so give us a call 669-11987. If
- 26:32Speaker 1: money is no issue for you and you could easily.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Own something that um maybe your idol or someone famous
- 26:39Speaker 1: owns or used to own, what would it be? Give
- 26:42Speaker 1: us a call 669-11987. Remember, let your creativity go wild
- 26:47Speaker 1: because money is not an issue in this topic today. Yes,
- 26:50Speaker 1: you can also WhatsApp us at 90050987. Again, if you
- 26:55Speaker 1: do like your answer, what's coming your way, not 100
- 26:58Speaker 1: but $200 dining experience. All thanks to our friends over
- 27:02Speaker 1: at Over Easy.
- 27:04Speaker 1: 12 years ago, formerly known as the pre-game before Butter Factory. Yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: and they've been there for a long time. So they've
- 27:09Speaker 1: stood the test of time. They, they know what they're doing.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Great food, great drinks, they got beer pong showdowns, cocktail parties.
- 27:15Speaker 1: So give us a call. Talking about um if money
- 27:18Speaker 1: were no object and you were able to own.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Um, an item that was previously owned by a famous
- 27:23Speaker 1: person out there. It could be, um, a very famous
- 27:25Speaker 1: politician or a celebrity or anyone at all. Yeah, I
- 27:28Speaker 1: want to say hello to Lim on WhatsApp at 90050987. Morning, Kim.
- 27:35Speaker 1: For me, that'll be Mr. B. There'll be Mr. Bean's teddy,
- 27:39Speaker 1: not just a collectible, but practical as well. Replace my
- 27:42Speaker 1: chocho pillow. Oh wow.
- 27:45Speaker 1: So we're talking the actual, actual prop on the set
- 27:48Speaker 1: of Mr. Bean. Yeah, yeah, I mean, look, that, that
- 27:51Speaker 1: is pretty iconic as well. So to, to that, I'm
- 27:54Speaker 1: sure someone out there, a museum or something owns it
- 27:56Speaker 1: right now, right? Or maybe like the United Kingdom Museum
- 28:00Speaker 1: of Television and stuff. say hello to Wayne who goes, Hey,
- 28:04Speaker 1: Sonia and Joakim, for me it'll be JK Rowling.
- 28:06Speaker 1: If money was not an issue, I would ask her
- 28:08Speaker 1: for something money still cannot buy one ordinary day from
- 28:12Speaker 1: her life before she became famous. I would want the
- 28:15Speaker 1: old photos, the rejection letters she got, the embarrassing first
- 28:18Speaker 1: attempt she made to publishers, the notes she scribbled when
- 28:21Speaker 1: nobody knew her name, and the story of the moment
- 28:24Speaker 1: she almost gave up. Anyone can own something a famous
- 28:27Speaker 1: person touched, I would rather have a piece of the
- 28:29Speaker 1: person they were before the world started watching.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Interesting. I love that answer. What a great answer. Yeah, wow. OK, well,
- 28:39Speaker 1: we got more of your stories coming through and more
- 28:41Speaker 1: calls coming up as well. Michelle is holding on the line.
- 28:44Speaker 1: By the way, on the topic of JK Rowling, right,
- 28:46Speaker 1: having been to Scotland and I love, yeah. Almost every
- 28:50Speaker 1: single cafe you go to in Edinburgh has a, has
- 28:53Speaker 1: a small sign that says JK Rowling was here. So
- 28:57Speaker 1: some people on Reddit and online.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Instagram posts are saying it's a scam. It's a tourist trap.
- 29:03Speaker 1: It's just to put there so you think that she
- 29:05Speaker 1: was there, yeah, exactly, yeah. Anyway, uh, we'll get to
- 29:08Speaker 1: your calls and still time for you to get those in,
- 29:10Speaker 1: by the way. Welcome back. In case you just joined us,
- 29:13Speaker 1: we're talking about if you could own something from a
- 29:16Speaker 1: famous person out there or maybe, you know, um, a
- 29:20Speaker 1: really famous public figure, religious figure, or maybe even a celebrity,
- 29:25Speaker 1: what would it be?
- 29:25Speaker 1: Maybe aside from Ronaldo or Messi or something sports related, right?
- 29:30Speaker 1: I might go for an electric guitar autographed by Carlos Santana.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Oh wow, OK, that's a big. It's a classic gift
- 29:39Speaker 1: on display and maybe if I can ever donate it
- 29:42Speaker 1: to a museum for people to go and see, I'll
- 29:45Speaker 1: do that as well. Or maybe even something from the
- 29:48Speaker 1: Apple archives, you know, that would be so cool, right?
- 29:52Speaker 1: iPhone autographed by Steve Jobs could be that one. I'm
- 29:56Speaker 1: not sure where they keep that, but it must exist
- 29:58Speaker 1: in a vault in a vault. It must, it must
- 30:00Speaker 1: exist somewhere. Michelle is on the line right now. What
- 30:03Speaker 1: about you? Uh, yeah, the one thing that I'll probably
- 30:07Speaker 1: want to have is, is the Michael Jackson, um, gloves,
- 30:11Speaker 1: and I will use it every day to my PT
- 30:13Speaker 1: lesson and train my clients. Hold on, you.
- 30:18Speaker 1: The glove. Are you sure? Don't lah. Don't use the glove.
- 30:25Speaker 1: You got to do. Let's go. You got to frame
- 30:25Speaker 1: it up. You know what, Michelle, if you ever do
- 30:28Speaker 1: bid for a Michael Jackson glove and you get it, I,
- 30:30Speaker 1: I really hope you display at the museum so all
- 30:33Speaker 1: of us fans can go and have a look. Actually,
- 30:35Speaker 1: you know, I'm so curious now that she mentioned it,
- 30:38Speaker 1: did it ever get sold off? Let me do a
- 30:40Speaker 1: quick check right now. Who's the current owner? Who's the
- 30:43Speaker 1: current owner?
- 30:45Speaker 1: Of Michael. I'm GPTing this right now. Drake? Actually, no. Interestingly,
- 30:52Speaker 1: it's Hong Kong. Yeah, it's currently owned by, I think, um,
- 30:56Speaker 1: an organization in Macau.
- 30:58Speaker 1: So, um, yeah, they bought it. This organization bought it
- 31:02Speaker 1: and Guinness World Records lists Ponte 16 as the owner
- 31:06Speaker 1: in MJ Gallery in Macau. So yes, in Macau currently
- 31:14Speaker 1: we are talking 25, the rhinestone glove.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Um, this is interesting. It was sold for almost $500
- 31:21Speaker 1: as well. Wow. That's the same price as Mr. Lee
- 31:25Speaker 1: Kuan Yew's pen. Yeah, I mean, it's more la because
- 31:28Speaker 1: it's USD $420,000 so that's more than half a million
- 31:33Speaker 1: dollars Sing dollars. Just fun fact for you this morning.
- 31:36Speaker 1: By the way, I just read this, you know, Drake.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Yeah, he owns the 1984 Victory Tour Swarovski Michael Jackson glove,
- 31:44Speaker 1: the one that he wore for the album cover. Um,
- 31:46Speaker 1: does it say how much he bought it for? No,
- 31:48Speaker 1: it doesn't. Oh, interesting. I'm guessing somewhere in the 100,000+
- 31:51Speaker 1: + ranges, hundreds of thousands. Drake is actually one guy
- 31:56Speaker 1: I'm very curious about his finances. Like he doesn't.
- 31:59Speaker 1: I mean, he seems to be very wealthy, of course,
- 32:02Speaker 1: you know, he's Drake, but given how quiet he was
- 32:06Speaker 1: over the past few years, I'm sure he has other
- 32:08Speaker 1: businesses that he's doing that's churning him money because he's
- 32:11Speaker 1: still spending money like, you know, like crazy.
- 32:15Speaker 1: To follow him for sports bets always seem to curse
- 32:18Speaker 1: the team that he bets on. OK, back to more
- 32:20Speaker 1: of your messages. If you could own something from a
- 32:24Speaker 1: very well-known person, a famous person, could be a politician, celebrity,
- 32:27Speaker 1: sports person, whatever, what would that item be? Ronaldo's watch.
- 32:32Speaker 1: He has too many. The one that he wears the
- 32:35Speaker 1: Jacob Jacob. Jacob. Jacob Couture. What am I saying? Never mind.
- 32:41Speaker 1: You don't know. OK, going to the WhatsApp number that
- 32:44Speaker 1: we have 90050987. Want to say good morning to Belle. Morning, Sojo.
- 32:50Speaker 1: If money was not an issue, I would get.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Original cast signed script from Friends. Oh, I love that.
- 32:58Speaker 1: I've binged the entire 10 seasons 7 times. I can
- 33:02Speaker 1: literally read the page and hear Chandler's voice in my head.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Rest in peace, Matthew Perry. Uh, you know, I still
- 33:08Speaker 1: watch reruns of Friends just because it's so feel good,
- 33:12Speaker 1: you know, and
- 33:13Speaker 1: I, it was the kind of show that I knew
- 33:15Speaker 1: it existed when I was a kid and growing up, right?
- 33:17Speaker 1: But I think it was too adult for me to
- 33:19Speaker 1: understand at the time. So, of course, when it came
- 33:22Speaker 1: to Netflix, it was a treat for everyone, especially for
- 33:24Speaker 1: the millennials. One more coming in from AQ AQ you say, hey, Sojo,
- 33:30Speaker 1: I would like to have a clay figure from a
- 33:34Speaker 1: Pokemon card artist. The artist goes by.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Yuka Mori and she designed her Pokemon cards with clay
- 33:40Speaker 1: figures and I collect those cards that have her as
- 33:43Speaker 1: the artist. There's a museum in Japan that has her
- 33:45Speaker 1: clay figures, but it would be so cool to have one. Yeah,
- 33:49Speaker 1: you're right. OK, so I'm very curious because I went
- 33:52Speaker 1: to search, um, Cristiano Ronaldo's collaboration with Jacob and Cole. Yeah. So, um,
- 33:59Speaker 1: his collaboration retail.
- 34:01Speaker 1: For the base model, about $30,000. OK. But the other
- 34:08Speaker 1: more ultra exclusive diamond encrusted ones go from $1.3 to
- 34:12Speaker 1: $1.6 million for one watch. But I'm sure that after
- 34:16Speaker 1: he's worn it and it's become a part of history,
- 34:19Speaker 1: and he puts it up for auction, it's gonna like,
- 34:21Speaker 1: I don't know, times 10, the amount of the price.
- 34:23Speaker 1: I can't even.
- 34:24Speaker 1: The starting bid, it's OK. I'll just go there and watch. Yeah,
- 34:28Speaker 1: and I wonder who would be, you know, billionaire will
- 34:30Speaker 1: buy it, right? I mean, they just buy it and
- 34:32Speaker 1: they put it in like a shelf for display in
- 34:35Speaker 1: their mansion. You know what? I'm gonna say this, I show. Oh,
- 34:39Speaker 1: he might. I think he'll definitely bid for the watch
- 34:42Speaker 1: and do his best to get it. Honestly, I think
- 34:44Speaker 1: he will have like what, let's say it will be
- 34:46Speaker 1: worth about 20 million in the future. I think he
- 34:48Speaker 1: can afford it.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Yeah, 100%. Yeah, exactly. He has a long way to go.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Time for some last few messages and a last call
- 34:55Speaker 1: over here. If you could own something from someone very famous,
- 35:00Speaker 1: all inspired by Mr. Lee Kuan Yew's pen being sold
- 35:04Speaker 1: for $461,500. Singapore. Yeah, OK, so close to half a million,
- 35:11Speaker 1: which has the engraving SM Lee Kuan Yew during his
- 35:14Speaker 1: tenure as SM before he became the MM.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Uh, between the years 1990 to 2004, I think a very,
- 35:24Speaker 1: a very core time as well, very important time for Singapore. Anyway,
- 35:28Speaker 1: last two messages. We got one coming in from Lufian. Morning,
- 35:31Speaker 1: Sonia and Joakim. Guess who my boy bumped into during
- 35:34Speaker 1: training at Singapore Sports School last weekend. Took a photo
- 35:37Speaker 1: with Singapore's sprint queen herself, Shanti Pereira. Oh, that's nice.
- 35:41Speaker 1: She was so happy we went to fetch him, keep
- 35:43Speaker 1: sick for life. Maybe this picture could be.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Worth something big in 10 years. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Did you sign it, I hope. In that case, I'm
- 35:51Speaker 1: going to bid for Joseph Schooling's Olympic gold medal. If
- 35:54Speaker 1: I own it, I'll display it. But will he ever
- 35:57Speaker 1: put it up? I don't think so. Like. Do not
- 36:01Speaker 1: do anything with it. Keep it as you earned it rightly. Yeah.
- 36:04Speaker 1: It's been a while since we've heard from him. Maybe
- 36:07Speaker 1: we should invite him back to just have a chat.
- 36:08Speaker 1: I think recently he just did something scholarship related. There
- 36:11Speaker 1: we go. Yeah, I love that he's giving back to education.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Especially in sports. OK, last but not least, Desmond, what
- 36:17Speaker 1: about you? Uh,
- 36:17Speaker 2: if I could really, money is not an issue, then
- 36:20Speaker 2: I would really love to own something that Jesus Christ wore,
- 36:24Speaker 2: probably part of his robe or his sandal or something
- 36:28Speaker 2: that would be really incredible and so sacred.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Wait, I'm so curious, where in the world contains, where
- 36:36Speaker 1: do they keep these things? It's not proven, but I'm
- 36:38Speaker 1: speculating it could be in the lowest depths of the.
- 36:42Speaker 1: vaults, I'm just speculating here. Yeah, like, you know, all
- 36:46Speaker 1: these novels that you read or like theories out there, right? Yeah,
- 36:50Speaker 1: thank you very much, Dan Brown, what, what would you
- 36:53Speaker 1: do with it if you were able to own a
- 36:55Speaker 1: piece of Jesus' robe? Would you keep it or keep
- 36:58Speaker 1: it in a glass vault or something? Yeah,
- 37:01Speaker 2: I would, it would definitely be in some display case
- 37:03Speaker 2: somewhere and I will be proudly showing this to people and, and,
- 37:08Speaker 2: you know, to.
- 37:10Speaker 2: Uh, you know, to unbeliever friends who have not been
- 37:13Speaker 2: saved yet, I can tell them that if Jesus Christ
- 37:16Speaker 2: ever walked the earth, and this is some piece of him.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Wow. OK, so if and when you get that, please
- 37:22Speaker 1: invite us to your house so that we can get
- 37:24Speaker 1: extra blessed.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yes, be in the presence. My soul will be cleansed.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I'm just kidding I think this one might need a
- 37:32Speaker 1: few more ropes for you.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Now only one person can walk away with that beautiful
- 37:37Speaker 1: prize thanks to Over Easy. They've been there for forever,
- 37:41Speaker 1: you know, they know what they're doing. And if you
- 37:43Speaker 1: want some drinks, some bites, beautiful view of the bay,
- 37:46Speaker 1: and some beer pong, why not? So today's question was,
- 37:48Speaker 1: what is an item of yours that you've left with
- 37:51Speaker 1: your ex and vice versa, and you try to get
- 37:54Speaker 1: it back or give it back to them. Today's winner,
- 37:58Speaker 1: I want to give it to Vanessa who called us earlier.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Congratulations. Having a t-shirt returned to her that isn't even hers.
- 38:08Speaker 1: But she didn't bother to tell her ex. She's just like, hm, OK, whatever.
- 38:11Speaker 1: That's interesting. I mean, it would make me really curious.
- 38:14Speaker 1: I would want to solve the mystery, but you know,
- 38:16Speaker 1: sometimes some things are better left unsaid. Sometimes you don't
- 38:19Speaker 1: want to know. For more info, please visit OEasy SG
- 38:23Speaker 1: on Instagram for everything that they're up to for the
- 38:25Speaker 1: benefit of those who weren't tuned in earlier. Yes, can
- 38:28Speaker 1: you please update us about your ankle and what happened? OK, OK,
- 38:32Speaker 1: so I just updated our intern yesterday. I was solo, right?
- 38:34Speaker 1: So I kept saying for Sony not being here on
- 38:37Speaker 1: a Monday.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I know I'll leave it to her to tell you
- 38:39Speaker 1: the story on today. So go for it. You know, I,
- 38:42Speaker 1: I would say between, well, with the both of us,
- 38:45Speaker 1: we will always show up for our show unless we
- 38:47Speaker 1: really cannot, OK, unless it's really like there's some reason
- 38:50Speaker 1: we cannot show up, we won't because, you know, getting
- 38:52Speaker 1: a cover for the morning show is quite impossible impossible
- 38:56Speaker 1: at the last minute, especially. So thankfully, there's two of us,
- 38:59Speaker 1: but Sunday evening, um, I played a game of paddle
- 39:03Speaker 1: and the fact that I have to repeat this again,
- 39:05Speaker 1: I'm going to get nagged at by my parents again. Hello.
- 39:08Speaker 1: But, um, as you know, I've already got a weak
- 39:10Speaker 1: ankle because I fell like not too long ago. I
- 39:12Speaker 1: missed a step right outside my Pilates class and I
- 39:14Speaker 1: fell on the ground, on the road, on the road, OK?
- 39:17Speaker 1: I'm still looking for the two girls that helped me out.
- 39:20Speaker 1: They're so sweet. Um, they did not seem Singaporean, but
- 39:23Speaker 1: if you know them, yeah, please let me know.
- 39:26Speaker 1: And prior to that, I had twisted my ankle because
- 39:30Speaker 1: I didn't wear the right court shoes when I was
- 39:33Speaker 1: playing when I was learning how to play paddle. So
- 39:35Speaker 1: then I bought proper court shoes that year. I sprained
- 39:40Speaker 1: it 3 times, the same angle, including this one right now. Yeah.
- 39:43Speaker 1: So I, I never went to a doctor or orthopedic.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I didn't go, OK. I was just limping about. So.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Sunday night after icing it for quite some time and
- 39:53Speaker 1: you know, putting anti-inflammatory like cream and all that, it
- 39:55Speaker 1: still wasn't going down. In fact, the swelling got worse.
- 39:59Speaker 1: So I texted, finally at close to 10 actually, I
- 40:01Speaker 1: texted Joe and our boss Janice, and I say, hey guys,
- 40:05Speaker 1: I hate to do this to you, but I was
- 40:06Speaker 1: hoping this would die down, but I can barely like
- 40:09Speaker 1: walk 5 steps. It will take like an hour to
- 40:12Speaker 1: walk to the car, basically.
- 40:14Speaker 1: So I told them, unfortunately, I really can't come in,
- 40:16Speaker 1: but I will go see um a doctor the next morning,
- 40:19Speaker 1: which was yesterday. So I went and he did a
- 40:22Speaker 1: quick assessment. I'm sure that you're used to this because,
- 40:25Speaker 1: you know, you run a lot, you go to the
- 40:26Speaker 1: orthopedic place quite often. So he did a quick test
- 40:31Speaker 1: on both my ankles, the good ankle and the injured ankle,
- 40:34Speaker 1: and then he looked at me and he goes, you
- 40:36Speaker 1: are most likely born with very loose joints.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Because when he moved it right on my left side,
- 40:42Speaker 1: which is the OK part, it doesn't hurt at all,
- 40:45Speaker 1: but it's very easy to move about and like click,
- 40:48Speaker 1: you know. So he said, yeah, you're likely born with
- 40:50Speaker 1: loose joints and you should really truly just wear a guard,
- 40:54Speaker 1: regardless of whether it's injured or not, because now you
- 40:57Speaker 1: already know that your right side is very weak. I
- 41:00Speaker 1: think your birthday is very soon. I'll buy you a helmet.
- 41:02Speaker 1: I'll buy you a helmet, elbow pads, knee guards. That's fine. I,
- 41:06Speaker 1: I fell on my elbow before I got a big
- 41:08Speaker 1: scar here. I'm looking at the picture you sent me
- 41:11Speaker 1: on Sunday. Wow, your, your ankle is swollen, man. It
- 41:15Speaker 1: is swollen. I know, I know. And today in the
- 41:18Speaker 1: studio she was elevating her foot for a while. I
- 41:21Speaker 1: went next to it and I went, Sons, your foot
- 41:22Speaker 1: is as big as my hand.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Yes, I'm a small person, OK? I'm, I'm not a
- 41:29Speaker 1: big person. I'm small. And um my, my, my ankle
- 41:32Speaker 1: currently has fused with my calf, so it's a cankle.
- 41:35Speaker 1: It's a can's officially a canker. Yikes. Well, if you're
- 41:38Speaker 1: going through anything similar, I feel you. I feel you.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Funny thing is our good friend Ben King has injured
- 41:44Speaker 1: his leg as well, and, um, both of us have
- 41:46Speaker 1: to meet for a work thing this week. You're like
- 41:48Speaker 1: ankle buddies. We have one pair of working legs between us.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Like, what's going on? You can team up and walk together. Yeah, exactly.
- 41:56Speaker 1: We are finally reunited, um, although Joakim has spent half
- 41:59Speaker 1: the morning just laughing at me. I mean, because I
- 42:02Speaker 1: injured my ankle again. I'm spending my afternoon with you. Yes,
- 42:06Speaker 1: oh yes, I think this makes up for the past
- 42:09Speaker 1: 7 days I've not been here. Can I just say something?
- 42:11Speaker 1: I just realized that because we have to shoot at
- 42:13Speaker 1: Marina Bay Sands later, that's one of the biggest malls
- 42:18Speaker 1: here in Singapore.
- 42:19Speaker 1: You got to give me 3 business days to walk, OK,
- 42:21Speaker 1: from the lift to the destination and also we are
- 42:25Speaker 1: hosting a walkathon on Saturday morning. I have faith that
- 42:28Speaker 1: I'll be better by then, but for NBS today, maybe
- 42:31Speaker 1: you want to standby wheelchair.
- 42:34Speaker 1: You wheel me, wheel me to the restaurant faster. They
- 42:37Speaker 1: see me rolling. No, no, no, I, if I let
- 42:40Speaker 1: Joakim do that, you will never hear the end of it.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I'm gonna speed down the Marina Bay Plaza area, yes,
- 42:46Speaker 1: with you. Hey, stop it. We don't need another accident. Oh,
- 42:49Speaker 1: there we go.
