- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Hey my friend, thanks for listening to today's episode of the Daily Writer Podcast.
- 0:18SPEAKER_00: If you identify as a writer, and I assume that you do since you're listening to this podcast, you probably have some type of outlet for writing.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's social media posts, blog posts, a podcast, a book you're working on, or something else, and maybe it's several of those things, which is awesome.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Having a place to write and having an audience who expects your work on a regular, consistent basis is a great way to develop a writing habit because it puts the pressure on you to deliver.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: And that is what we professionals do.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: We deliver on time.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: However, one of the challenges is that you can produce words that don't come from a place of passion or meaning.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: When you're writing on a schedule and when you're writing to a deadline, it's really easy to become kind of a robot where you're just cranking out words on demand.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: And I think there has to be some balance in there.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: There has to be passion, but also regularity.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: There has to be meaning, but also discipline.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: There has to be the fire of writing, but there also has to be the consistency of lighting that fire.
- 1:18unknown: F.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Scott Fitzgerald once said, You don't write because you want to say something, you write because you've got something to say.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: So I'm asking you, what is it that you really want to say?
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: If you feel consumed by the demands of a writing schedule, take a moment to dig down deep and really think about what it is that you want to say.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: Don't let it get lost in the shuffle of schedules and expectations.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: Don't quench that fire.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Here's today's question What is the one single message you most want to convey to the world through your writing?
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: Thanks so much for listening to today's episode.
