- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show, live from the WOR LifeVac studios.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hey, we'll take some calls. 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710. So,
- 0:16Speaker 2: Kathy Hochul, you know, this crazy pied-a-terre tax, crazy Mamdani, too.
- 0:21Speaker 2: It sounds good to their base that we'll go after
- 0:24Speaker 2: these wealthy people, these rich. You see, these politicians can
- 0:27Speaker 2: never admit The problem is overspending. The budget is double
- 0:32Speaker 2: what it should be. Double what it should be. You
- 0:35Speaker 2: could cut the budget in half. And a lot of
- 0:36Speaker 2: this is fraud, waste, bloat, overpaying by 10,000% for everything.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It's just endless waste. So when there's a shortfall, they
- 0:46Speaker 2: act like it's those rich people's fault. This is the
- 0:49Speaker 2: idea of democratic socialism. It's rich people telling poor people
- 0:55Speaker 2: that the reason you're poor is these other rich people
- 0:57Speaker 2: did it to you. So And then they can just
- 1:00Speaker 2: keep increasing the tax on the wealthy. But it gets
- 1:03Speaker 2: to the point where the rate is just ridiculously high.
- 1:05Speaker 2: So they come up with these crazy ideas. Remember years
- 1:08Speaker 2: ago they tried this, we're going to tax all the
- 1:11Speaker 2: private jet owners. We'll tax every private jet owner in
- 1:15Speaker 2: that way. Well, that's 75 people. It's not that many people.
- 1:21Speaker 2: If you taxed them all 100%, it would run the
- 1:23Speaker 2: government for three and a half seconds. That's about it.
- 1:25Speaker 2: It doesn't do anything. It's the same thing with this
- 1:27Speaker 2: Pierre de Terre tax. This Pierre de Terre tax, it's
- 1:30Speaker 2: just a handful of people. It doesn't do anything.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Courts.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Is that my phone? No, it's my watch talking to me. Sorry.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Stupid Apple Watch. Where was I? It's the most convoluted scheme,
- 1:45Speaker 2: this Pierre de Terre tax. Even left-wing judges are stopping it.
- 1:49Speaker 2: You've got a Staten Island judge blocking it. They can't
- 1:52Speaker 2: figure out who should be on the list, who shouldn't
- 1:54Speaker 2: be on the list. They put out a list of
- 1:55Speaker 2: like 90,000 names. Turns out 75,000 of them were the
- 1:59Speaker 2: wrong names. And listen to Hochul try to explain it.
- 2:03Speaker 2: She can't even explain this thing.
- 2:04Speaker 4: So the larger number that was in the news was
- 2:08Speaker 4: a different dynamic, I'll say. So what they're talking about
- 2:11Speaker 4: is getting down to what we actually projected. So we
- 2:14Speaker 4: don't see that there'll be a loss in revenue from
- 2:17Speaker 4: what we expect to bring in. because we've always been
- 2:20Speaker 4: estimating at 10,000. So them scaling it back will not
- 2:23Speaker 4: have the effect that people are concerned about.
- 2:25Speaker 2: What a bunch of double talk. First of all, whatever
- 2:28Speaker 2: it was going to bring in is nothing. Listen to
- 2:29Speaker 2: this sentence.
- 2:30Speaker 4: So the larger number that was in the news was
- 2:34Speaker 4: a different dynamic, I'll say.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It's a number. How could it have a dynamic? The
- 2:38Speaker 2: larger number was a different dynamic. What the hell is
- 2:40Speaker 2: he talking about? The larger number was false. It was wrong.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It was totally wrong, completely wrong. Let's take some calls.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Let's go to Kathy in North Carolina. Kathy, how are
- 2:51Speaker 2: you doing? Hi.
- 2:53Speaker 5: Look at me at the 9 o'clock hour. I'm so excited.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Well, that's like lunchtime in North Carolina, right?
- 3:00Speaker 5: No, but listen, the 6-year-old is back in school, so
- 3:04Speaker 5: I can make calls now.
- 3:06Speaker 2: No, but 9 o'clock in North Carolina, usually down at
- 3:08Speaker 2: the fishing hole with Opie, right?
- 3:11Speaker 5: Well, no, you know, that's, we're very, we're very, very modern.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Oh, no, I know.
- 3:16Speaker 5: All the modern, all us New Yorkers are moving here. Anyway,
- 3:21Speaker 5: I'm going to, you were going down memory lane yesterday,
- 3:24Speaker 5: so I'm going to keep it light today. And I
- 3:26Speaker 5: had a question for you. I always wanted to ask.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Go ahead.
- 3:29Speaker 5: About Sue Simmons and Phil Collins.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Take it away.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Sue Simmons, the great, I don't know, that's a great,
- 3:35Speaker 2: pretty good anchor woman on Channel 4. And Phil Collins?
- 3:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 3:40Speaker 3: What?
- 3:41Speaker 5: I mean, I might have gotten mixed up with another
- 3:44Speaker 5: anchor that's legendary, but somebody had an affair with Phil
- 3:47Speaker 5: Collins and was crushed that it didn't work. Come on,
- 3:52Speaker 5: you know everything.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Well, the Phil Collins part could be true, but... Sue Simmons?
- 3:57Speaker 2: I think he's got better eyesight than that, don't you?
- 3:59Speaker 5: No, okay, maybe.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Now you're going to have to Google it because I
- 4:03Speaker 5: didn't want to do that.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Now I'm, like, creating this big possible false story.
- 4:10Speaker 2: A lot of these anchors that you see on those shows,
- 4:14Speaker 2: they're pretty good-looking people. They have a lot of affairs,
- 4:16Speaker 2: those people. I don't want to mention names.
- 4:19Speaker 5: But, I mean, whoever it was was huge, and I
- 4:21Speaker 5: thought it was– it was somebody that you'd never think
- 4:24Speaker 5: would be with Phil Collins. And he's still local, right?
- 4:27Speaker 5: And he's not doing well, by the way. But she was, like, so– like,
- 4:32Speaker 5: literally kind of lost a couple of nights on the air,
- 4:35Speaker 5: whoever it was.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Well, remember, she had a little– she loved to drink.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Remember that incident where she was– cursing and didn't know
- 4:43Speaker 2: the microphone was open.
- 4:44Speaker 5: But now I want you to dig into the story
- 4:46Speaker 5: and let me know. I'll be listening.
- 4:48Speaker 2: It's not exactly the Kennedy assassination. I mean, the investigation
- 4:52Speaker 2: on this.
- 4:52Speaker 5: I told you I was keeping it light today.
- 4:54Speaker 2: All right. I'll ask around, see what I can find out.
- 4:58Speaker 5: I'm not going to ask you about the Lindsay Clancy
- 5:00Speaker 5: case because that will just really ramp it up.
- 5:03Speaker 2: I can't get involved in that. I don't know why.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I mean, it looks like there's going to be a
- 5:07Speaker 2: hung jury or a mistrial there.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Oh, that's good.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if it's good. She murdered her kids, but.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Well, I know, but she admitted it, and she had
- 5:16Speaker 5: a psychosis. So I'm not going to get into that,
- 5:18Speaker 5: but I'm just so thrilled to hear you at a
- 5:20Speaker 5: 9 o'clock hour.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Oh, she admitted it? It's okay to kill your kids
- 5:23Speaker 2: if you admit it? That's okay?
- 5:25Speaker 5: No, she had a psychosis. It's a medical thing, trust me.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Yeah, right. It's true.
- 5:30Speaker 5: But anyway.
- 5:31Speaker 2: All right, Kathy. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Dave
- 5:34Speaker 2: in New City. Dave, how you doing?
- 5:37Speaker 3: Good. How you doing, Mark? Good. You know, I was thinking...
- 5:40Speaker 3: Now that you have a three-hour show, maybe you should
- 5:44Speaker 3: bring in Vincent from Brooklyn to be your co-host. What
- 5:47Speaker 3: do you think?
- 5:48Speaker 2: I think I'm doing fine. Vincent's a great caller. He's
- 5:50Speaker 2: not a professional host.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he would be a good addition to
- 5:55Speaker 3: your show.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Well, I hate to break it to you. That's why
- 5:57Speaker 2: nobody's hired you to be a program director. Nobody pays
- 6:01Speaker 2: you to be a radio consultant.
- 6:05Speaker 3: You're right.
- 6:06Speaker 2: What do you do for a living?
- 6:09Speaker 3: I own a pickleball facility. Really? Yeah, you want to
- 6:13Speaker 3: come play?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Hey, so how long have you had it?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Five months.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Oh, okay, so you just started. Have you seen any
- 6:21Speaker 2: decrease in pickleball interest?
- 6:25Speaker 3: No, only increase by millions. Wow.
- 6:30Speaker 2: All right. It's taken off. What is the hardest thing
- 6:34Speaker 2: of running a pickleball place? What's the most expensive stuff,
- 6:37Speaker 2: like maintaining stuff and.
- 6:40Speaker 3: No, no, the hardest thing is dealing with the customers.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Yeah, but it's a new city. You got
- 6:45Speaker 2: nice people there. It's Rockland County, all very nice people.
- 6:48Speaker 2: You're right. Yeah, go open one in Boca Raton. You
- 6:51Speaker 2: want to see some complaining? Open in Boca Raton. No thanks. Yeah,
- 6:57Speaker 2: open in Boca Raton and keep them waiting half a second.
- 7:01Speaker 2: One second so long, you'll see nothing but arguing. Let's
- 7:04Speaker 2: go to Neil in Brooklyn. Neil, how you doing?
- 7:08Speaker 3: Thank you, Mark.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Um, Although there was no legislation, do you think that
- 7:12Speaker 1: the publicity about voter ID and mail-in voting will help
- 7:20Speaker 1: tamp down fraud, just the fact that it's in the
- 7:23Speaker 1: news all the time?
- 7:24Speaker 2: Yeah, well, that's good. It'll eventually stop it once you
- 7:26Speaker 2: expose it all. But the problem is you're not going
- 7:29Speaker 2: to get this by the midterms. It's a little too late.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Even if you get that Save America Act, it really
- 7:34Speaker 2: won't go into effect in time to do much in
- 7:36Speaker 2: the midterms. But this voter fraud is very, very real.
- 7:40Speaker 2: You remember the fake news would say there's no voter fraud.
- 7:43Speaker 2: And then they would confess. Even George Stephanopoulos and others
- 7:46Speaker 2: would confess. Well, it's very small. It's 1%. It's not
- 7:51Speaker 2: enough to make it. But it's getting exposed more and more.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Illegals are voting like crazy. Turns out New Jersey had
- 7:57Speaker 2: to confess. The governor had to confess. She found 6,000
- 8:00Speaker 2: illegals voting, which means 60,000. And you got these driving schools.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Scott Besant and Sean Duffy and others talking about this yesterday. Duffy,
- 8:12Speaker 2: Department of Transportation, they've gone after 270 driving schools. It
- 8:18Speaker 2: turns out they were given licenses to illegals. Not only licenses,
- 8:22Speaker 2: but there were 100 of them that they've already targeted
- 8:24Speaker 2: now as the worst. They were given commercial driver's licenses,
- 8:29Speaker 2: which means these illegals who don't speak English can't read
- 8:32Speaker 2: the road signs. are driving big 18-wheeler trucks. You know,
- 8:37Speaker 2: people have been killed by these illegals because they couldn't
- 8:40Speaker 2: read the sign, they didn't know what a stop sign was,
- 8:43Speaker 2: and people have died in these accidents. So they're targeting
- 8:46Speaker 2: those schools, and good for them. One more. Let's go
- 8:48Speaker 2: to Sammy in Howard Beach. Sammy, how are you doing?
- 8:52Speaker 3: I'm doing great, Mark. Good morning. Listen, I used to
- 8:55Speaker 3: work at CBS, and it was Dana Tyler who had the.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I would say, lap. Dana Tyler. Okay, that makes a
- 9:04Speaker 2: lot more sense. Very good-looking, that Dana Tyler. Very nice person, too.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Great lady.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You think she developed a friendship with Phil Collins?
- 9:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Unfortunately, it didn't really work out well for her.
- 9:20Speaker 3: You know, she just, you know, became lost. Anyway, thanks
- 9:24Speaker 3: a lot for putting it up.
- 9:25Speaker 2: All right, thanks for clearing it up. You know, is
- 9:28Speaker 2: she going to date a big rock and roll star?
- 9:30Speaker 2: a crazy musician who's on the road all the time
- 9:33Speaker 2: with a billion groupies, it's not going to work out.
- 9:36Speaker 2: I mean, if you want to have some fun and
- 9:38Speaker 2: you like it, great, but it's not going to, it's
- 9:41Speaker 2: not a long-term relationship developing. Let's go to Sal in
- 9:44Speaker 2: Long Island. Sal, how you doing?
- 9:47Speaker 6: Hi, good morning, Mark.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 9:49Speaker 6: Mark, I just wanted to mention that we talked about
- 9:52Speaker 6: this outdoor dining and how things are going to be
- 9:55Speaker 6: dropped and get rats up. That's yeah but the one
- 9:58Speaker 6: thing we didn't touch on what about the waiters and
- 10:00Speaker 6: the waitresses that got to go from a warm inside
- 10:02Speaker 6: place they got to walk out onto the sidewalk into
- 10:04Speaker 6: another warm place back and forth carrying plates that's a pain.
- 10:07Speaker 2: In the neck that's the other problem you're right sitting
- 10:09Speaker 2: outside you don't get it so there's not a waiter
- 10:10Speaker 2: around all the time right where are you in long
- 10:13Speaker 2: island where do.
- 10:13Speaker 6: You live in long island Seacliff, up by Glen Cove.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Seacliff is beautiful. Glen Cove, you've got all these great restaurants.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You've got The Cove, that restaurant right on the water. Yes.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Friday night, the White Party there at The Cove.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Yeah, that's right.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I don't want to catch you there. Are you married?
- 10:30Speaker 2: I don't want to catch you there.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you better not be there. All right, thanks for calling. Hey,
- 10:36Speaker 2: we've got a lot to get to. We've got three
- 10:39Speaker 2: hours now, nine to noon every day. And don't forget
- 10:43Speaker 2: at noon, it's Buck and Clay. That's a really good
- 10:45Speaker 2: show every day. And then at 3 o'clock, you've got
- 10:47Speaker 2: the most listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity.
- 10:51Speaker 2: You've got Jesse Kelly at 6. Jimmy Fallon, very funny
- 10:55Speaker 2: show every night, 9 to midnight. It's all here on 710WOR.
