- 4:26Speaker 2: Shelby who's been through it man. The end of twenty
- 4:29Speaker 2: five was a rough one for her. Twenty six is

- 5:09Speaker 2: The Winter Solstice High School basketball tournament wrapped up this
- 5:14Speaker 2: weekend at the odd It was amazing. Got a chance
- 5:18Speaker 2: to run over to the Dartmouth Harvard women's basketball game
- 5:22Speaker 2: with some good friends and family, and we just had
- 5:26Speaker 2: so much fun. It was a great weekend. Ah Facebook
- 5:31Speaker 2: Question of the day. Do you think AI bias is
- 5:37Speaker 2: having an effect on not only American political leaders but
- 5:42Speaker 2: also managers in the workforce, the big bosses. I'm gonna
- 5:49Speaker 2: post that up as soon as I get off of
- 5:50Speaker 2: the air this morning, and we're gonna talk about it.
- 5:52Speaker 2: What a weekend. Though. Here we are Black Monday. The
- 5:59Speaker 2: regular NFL season is over, and so are a few
- 6:05Speaker 2: coaching careers. This is when coaches lose their jobs. Falcons
- 6:14Speaker 2: didn't wait until today, though they let their head coach
- 6:17Speaker 2: go last night. My nephews were there last night in
- 6:34Speaker 2: Pittsburgh and I have been trying to reach them this morning,
- 6:39Speaker 2: but as you could probably guess, they're still sleeping. But yeah,
- 6:46Speaker 2: the AFC North Championship goes to the Steelers by the
- 6:51Speaker 2: chin of their chinny chin chin, or as some of us,
- 6:57Speaker 2: maybe most of us would say, by two points twenty
- 7:02Speaker 2: six twenty four the final in the most spectacular game
- 7:05Speaker 2: yesterday to wrap up this season. And I'm sure this
- 7:13Speaker 2: morning that my buddy Chris Awtrey, who shares a love
- 7:20Speaker 2: of the Steelers as my brother does to the ends
- 7:25Speaker 2: of the earth and beyond. I don't know it was something,
- 7:32Speaker 2: or maybe it was the Raiders fourteen to twelve win
- 7:35Speaker 2: over the Chiefs that you were loving so much last night.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Some of the games were so lopsided yesterday, some of them, frankly,
- 7:48Speaker 2: were you honors. Let's see winners. We had Rams, Seahawks,
- 7:55Speaker 2: Texans Logan Lusis thrilled Brown's Falcons by two over the Saints.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Nineteen seventeen Vikings Jaguars embarrassed the Titans forty one to seven.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I had to take a double take at that Giants
- 8:18Speaker 2: show of hands. How many of you are surprised that
- 8:21Speaker 2: the Cowboys lost anyone? Okay, Commanders beat the Eagles twenty
- 8:32Speaker 2: four to seventeen. Patriots destroyed the Dolphins twenty eight to ten.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Watched that one with a friend last night and some
- 8:41Speaker 2: delicious wings. It was a good time. I knew I
- 8:48Speaker 2: would be willing to bet my life savings, which isn't
- 8:53Speaker 2: really that much, that Chris Autry would be calling me this.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Morning about how about America's team, the Pittsburgh.
- 9:06Speaker 4: Steelers to the playoffs. I told you, man, I told
- 9:13Speaker 4: you this.
- 9:13Speaker 2: I told you man.
- 9:15Speaker 4: Listen, there's two sad Listen. There's a lot of sad
- 9:18Speaker 4: people in.
- 9:18Speaker 3: The world today. Okay, there's a lot of sad people
- 9:22Speaker 3: in the world today. There's a lot of people going
- 9:23Speaker 3: back to work.
- 9:24Speaker 2: There's a lot of there's a lot of cowboys fans,
- 9:26Speaker 2: a lot of cowboys. It's a lot of sad people.
- 9:28Speaker 3: You're right, Cowboys fans have gotta be second. Gotta be second.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Once again, they're at home watching They couldn't even get
- 9:38Speaker 3: a participation trophy right in the NFL there.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Did the Jets show up yesterday? Did the Titans show
- 9:47Speaker 2: up yesterday?
- 9:49Speaker 3: I heard that. I heard a I heard the Very
- 9:54Speaker 3: City Middle started to restarted their football program and they
- 9:57Speaker 3: played for the Jets.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Jets today is a scrimmage.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Wow.
- 10:00Speaker 4: I don't know if that's true or not. But but
- 10:02Speaker 4: you know who else is having a sad day today?
- 10:05Speaker 2: Who's that?
- 10:06Speaker 3: The Baltimore Ravens. Yes, they are Baltimore. They just picked
- 10:13Speaker 3: up and sat next to the Cowboys on the couch.
- 10:16Speaker 3: They're gonna watch this whole postseason go by.
- 10:20Speaker 4: It's a good Monday, j D. Even though we're coming
- 10:23Speaker 4: back from Christmas. It's a good monday.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Who was the guy that missed the field goal? What
- 10:28Speaker 2: was his name?
- 10:29Speaker 4: Now?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Does it matter? What matters?
- 10:35Speaker 4: It is?
- 10:37Speaker 3: There's no good It is wide right, and the Steelers
- 10:42Speaker 3: are the champions.
- 10:43Speaker 2: To the North. Listen to listen to that crowd, Awe Tree,
- 10:54Speaker 2: Can you, I mean, can you believe that crowd last night?
- 10:57Speaker 2: How loud they were.
- 11:00Speaker 4: When we lived in Pittsburgh.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I mean, I've got stories. We were one time on
- 11:05Speaker 3: a Sunday during the game. It was right after no
- 11:10Speaker 3: it was like right after the game started. I made
- 11:14Speaker 3: a quick run into John Eagle. John Eagle is the
- 11:17Speaker 3: big grocery store in Pittsburgh, and and it's a really
- 11:22Speaker 3: nice grocery store, like unbelievably fancy.
- 11:26Speaker 4: And so I made a quick run in there to
- 11:28Speaker 4: grab a couple of things and to get home to
- 11:29Speaker 4: watch the game.
- 11:30Speaker 3: And jad, I kid you not, there were there were
- 11:34Speaker 3: crowds of people throughout the store looking up at the
- 11:39Speaker 3: TVs on the walls, watching the game as they're shopping
- 11:43Speaker 3: for groceries. Like, just stop in the produce section. There's
- 11:46Speaker 3: a TV and they're watching a game. And so whenever
- 11:49Speaker 3: we would score, man, you'd.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Hear just cheers erupted in the grocery store.
- 11:54Speaker 2: They're not even checking the grapes, no mental care, the.
- 12:00Speaker 4: This is, this is double dipping.
- 12:01Speaker 3: We got to watch the game and get groceries for
- 12:03Speaker 3: the week, right And uh man, now that's the kind
- 12:06Speaker 3: of fans we are. Man.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I just man, you're you're, you're you're down in North Carolina.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Did you hear that missed field goal last night in
- 12:19Speaker 2: North Carolina? When you stepped out into your backyard.
- 12:22Speaker 4: You listen, Uh I not only heard it, but my
- 12:26Speaker 4: heart jumped right out.
- 12:28Speaker 3: My chest slapped me in the face, made sure I
- 12:31Speaker 3: was awake, and pop right back in.
- 12:34Speaker 4: I could not believe it. I could not believe he
- 12:38Speaker 4: missed a bill goal. I mean, he was a chip
- 12:41Speaker 4: shot bill goal. But that just goes tell you what
- 12:44Speaker 4: pressure will do.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Man.
- 12:45Speaker 2: You I mean you know yeah, oh yeah, absolutely, man, absolutely,
- 12:51Speaker 2: the the the look of despair. And that's a lack
- 12:56Speaker 2: of a lack of a better word here. I mean,
- 12:59Speaker 2: that's a huge understatement on his face. Man. Can you
- 13:08Speaker 2: can you believe to my nephews were there? Buddy?
- 13:15Speaker 4: Uh? What?
- 13:16Speaker 2: What?
- 13:16Speaker 4: What I really struggle with is why weren't we invited?
- 13:21Speaker 3: You know, you got You've got a Steelers jersey, got
- 13:25Speaker 3: Steelers underwear, You're outfitted just like I am.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Why weren't we invited to the game?
- 13:32Speaker 2: You know, I'm I'm probably gonna be pondering that for
- 13:34Speaker 2: the rest of my life, really, I really am. I mean,
- 13:40Speaker 2: because I keep hearing, oh, yeah, you're gonna come with
- 13:43Speaker 2: us some year, Yeah, you're gonna come with us. I
- 13:46Speaker 2: should have been there last night.
- 13:50Speaker 4: You know what we need to do, j D. You
- 13:53Speaker 4: and I need to go to a game.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and not invite anyone else.
- 13:58Speaker 4: No, leave everybody at home. Yeah, good idea, everybody at home.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what we that's so, that's exactly what we need,
- 14:07Speaker 3: is your brother season tickets.
- 14:09Speaker 2: My brother does not have season tickets, although he has
- 14:12Speaker 2: considered moving to Pittsburgh.
- 14:17Speaker 4: It's quality of life would increase.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Significantly, of course it would. We know that.
- 14:22Speaker 4: It's dude, it's a great city.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Now. Yeah, you know that every every time the Steelers
- 14:32Speaker 2: play that my brother is cooking up some kind of
- 14:37Speaker 2: appetizer or some kind of food. Uh, that is that
- 14:42Speaker 2: attributes the opposing team. And you know why so that
- 14:49Speaker 2: that that so that that food can be consumed and
- 14:52Speaker 2: then discarded. I think it was it might have been
- 14:57Speaker 2: some form of poultry yesterday. I'm not sure.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Listen, last night was the only night there's only there's
- 15:07Speaker 3: only a couple of nights in in in the year
- 15:10Speaker 3: that I don't mind eating crow.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Yeah that's all I'm saying.
- 15:14Speaker 3: So I'm saying like I didn't mind even Listen, if
- 15:17Speaker 3: I had to play a raven, yeah, I would have
- 15:20Speaker 3: tore into that thing in a heartbeat. I can't, man,
- 15:23Speaker 3: I cannot believe. I can't believe we want it, I know, man,
- 15:28Speaker 3: I mean it just like it was such a dog
- 15:32Speaker 3: fight in the second half, and and it it just
- 15:37Speaker 3: kept I kept dozing off because I'm I'm old.
- 15:40Speaker 4: I kept dozing off and I'd wake up and it'd
- 15:42Speaker 4: be a huge play, you know.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say, I was gonna say what
- 15:46Speaker 2: was what was worse the dog fight in the second
- 15:49Speaker 2: half or the dog fight for you to keep your
- 15:51Speaker 2: eyes open? And and and let's let's take a second
- 15:57Speaker 2: here and thank Sam. God blessed Sam for from making
- 16:01Speaker 2: sure that that he was shooting his dad with a
- 16:05Speaker 2: squirt gun last night to make sure that he didn't
- 16:08Speaker 2: miss anything.
- 16:10Speaker 4: He didn't have to shoot me a squirre grud. He
- 16:12Speaker 4: just talks.
- 16:14Speaker 3: He was so loud last night at one point that
- 16:17Speaker 3: I literally shot straight up in my chair and uh,
- 16:23Speaker 3: I was breaking in the house.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Man, He's just and were there any there were there
- 16:29Speaker 2: any tears?
- 16:32Speaker 3: Yes? Yeah, dude, I've cried a lot over the holidays.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I cried over the end of Stranger Things.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Uh I you why were you Christ? Steve, Steve didn't die.
- 16:46Speaker 4: Can we talk about it? Are we leaking out on
- 16:48Speaker 4: the secrets?
- 16:50Speaker 2: Steve didn't die, He almost died.
- 16:53Speaker 4: Steve did not die. And I think L's alive. I'm
- 16:58Speaker 4: just saying I think L's alive.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I think I am.
- 17:02Speaker 4: I am firmly in the boy. I almost improved. She's alive,
- 17:05Speaker 4: so I am. Yeah, I dude, I went.
- 17:09Speaker 3: And then last night, man, I just stood there stunned
- 17:13Speaker 3: that he missed a bill goal. And I'm not gonna
- 17:15Speaker 3: lie because I love coach Tomlin. Even though I do
- 17:20Speaker 3: think he's at the verge of we need a transition.
- 17:24Speaker 3: I love coach Tomlin.
- 17:26Speaker 2: He had some tears. He had some tears in his
- 17:29Speaker 2: size last night. I don't know if you said camera
- 17:32Speaker 2: was catching him.
- 17:34Speaker 4: I was so happy for him, man, and and Aaron Rodgers.
- 17:38Speaker 3: You know, I've always been here and there with Aaron
- 17:41Speaker 3: Rodgers and to see him happy to play football again,
- 17:44Speaker 3: and uh, man, I just you.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Know, he is happy to play football. He is happy
- 17:51Speaker 2: to how old is he? Forty three, forty two, forty two?
- 17:56Speaker 2: He is happy to play football. However, buddy, and I'm
- 18:00Speaker 2: just saying it like it is. You wouldn't have known it, though,
- 18:02Speaker 2: when when you heard those those voice outtakes this morning
- 18:06Speaker 2: or what was it late last night or from from
- 18:11Speaker 2: Come on, Bob, you just won the AFC North title,
- 18:15Speaker 2: are you excited. Are you happy?
- 18:22Speaker 3: Yeah, he's hungry man, and he wants I'm with him.
- 18:28Speaker 3: I want us to dominate, Like these close games are
- 18:31Speaker 3: killing me. Yeah, and I don't understand why we can't
- 18:35Speaker 3: put up more than twenty points, Like, why can't we
- 18:38Speaker 3: put up thirty and forty point game?
- 18:39Speaker 2: We've got we have the players, listen. I'm no pro, man,
- 18:43Speaker 2: I'm no you know that. But he did miss a
- 18:45Speaker 2: couple of a couple of wicked touchdowns last night.
- 18:51Speaker 4: You know that for sure.
- 18:54Speaker 2: For sure he threw them away.
- 18:57Speaker 3: His his age shows in the email makes he can
- 19:01Speaker 3: make some really bad throws.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I don't know if the going to be as forgiving.
- 19:06Speaker 3: No, I don't think so either. We're in for an
- 19:09Speaker 3: uphill battle, dude. I mean it's this playoffs is gonna
- 19:13Speaker 3: be tough because well I don't want to look at
- 19:17Speaker 3: it too far ahead, but but Texas is going to
- 19:21Speaker 3: just man, They're not gonna be an injured Baltimore Ravens,
- 19:25Speaker 3: you know what I mean. Yeah, it's gonna it's gonna
- 19:28Speaker 3: be a bit of a dogfight.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, man, I I uh, are there any other
- 19:35Speaker 2: teams that you're gonna be paying special attention to that
- 19:40Speaker 2: you're gonna be watching carefully this this coming weekend.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Well, I think Denver, Denver's in our radar, and I
- 19:52Speaker 3: think you have to pay very close attention to Denver
- 19:55Speaker 3: in my book. In my book, I've got Denver, you,
- 20:00Speaker 3: I've got Seattle playing for it all, Okay, I think, man,
- 20:06Speaker 3: I'm a believer in Sam Donald.
- 20:08Speaker 4: I wish we went and picked up Sam Donald. Yeah
- 20:13Speaker 4: in the off season.
- 20:14Speaker 3: I hate that we didn't do that, but I.
- 20:18Speaker 4: Man, he's just he is such an overlooked QB. Yeah.
- 20:25Speaker 3: And then you man, I mean, Sean Payn's got Denver
- 20:29Speaker 3: playing really good football right now.
- 20:32Speaker 2: Some of those games yesterday were big Yawners Bills and
- 20:37Speaker 2: Jets thirty five to eight, Broncos Chargers nineteen to three.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I mean it was, you know, forty one seven Jackguars
- 20:49Speaker 2: over the Titans. I mean it was. There were a
- 20:53Speaker 2: couple of Yonner games, buddy. It's just it is what
- 20:56Speaker 2: it is, man, some of them, you know, some of
- 21:00Speaker 2: them was I punched out, man, I'm like, yeah, I'm
- 21:02Speaker 2: all done.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, man, I think I think we have
- 21:08Speaker 4: to at this point in the season.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Teams are gonna play their bench, and uh, that's just
- 21:14Speaker 3: how it's gonna be. They're gonna, they're gonna, they're gonna
- 21:16Speaker 3: play their bitch. They're gonna keep especially these playoff teams, man,
- 21:20Speaker 3: they're gonna take the l and uh in order to
- 21:24Speaker 3: preserve their playoff spot and keep everybody healthy and that
- 21:28Speaker 3: kind of thing.
- 21:29Speaker 4: So I get it, man, I get it. And so
- 21:32Speaker 4: that's why you've got some of.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Those lopsided wins like that are lopsided losses and wins
- 21:36Speaker 3: and but uh, but but I'll tell you man, like.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Still, I mean, those losses in my book, means something, right,
- 21:46Speaker 4: means you you don't have the bench.
- 21:49Speaker 3: You don't have the bench to be able to compete.
- 21:52Speaker 3: And uh, you always as a football coach, man, you
- 21:57Speaker 3: plead to your guys, hey, you need to the next
- 22:01Speaker 3: gown on the bench has to be able to contribute.
- 22:04Speaker 3: There's there's no other way around it. And so he
- 22:07Speaker 3: needs to be prepared to start at any moment.
- 22:10Speaker 4: He can't, he can't be looked at his second rate.
- 22:13Speaker 4: And so I think that's what that tells you is man,
- 22:15Speaker 4: some of these teams are just not that deep.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah, well we're learning fast man playoffs starting Saturday wild
- 22:24Speaker 2: card matchups, right, now it looks like Rams, Panthers, Packers, Bears,
- 22:29Speaker 2: and then on on Saturday, and then on Sunday Bills, Jags,
- 22:33Speaker 2: forty nine, Ers, Eagles, Chargers, Patriots, and Texans and Steelers.
- 22:40Speaker 2: It's gonna it's gonna be something else.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Man.
- 22:42Speaker 2: There are a lot there are a lot of folks
- 22:45Speaker 2: in Pittsburgh this morning that do not have any fingernails left.
- 22:54Speaker 4: They don't have any fingernails. And they may have lost
- 22:56Speaker 4: a pair of underwear last night.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Absolutely, they had to change it out, you know what
- 23:01Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Yeah, of course, Now this coming Sunday, what will Chris
- 23:05Speaker 2: Autry be wearing on Sunday for the Texan Steelers game.
- 23:10Speaker 2: You gotta be come on, you gotta be wearing something.
- 23:16Speaker 4: I have a strict rule. I don't say much.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I don't do much until the end of the game,
- 23:23Speaker 3: until the end of the until the end of game.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Listen. I have a in our church.
- 23:27Speaker 3: We have season ticket holders to the Baltimore Ravens, and
- 23:31Speaker 3: they are they are uh uh friends with coach Harbaud.
- 23:37Speaker 4: It's kind of a neat story.
- 23:38Speaker 3: And uh so yesterday, man, they talked all kind of
- 23:44Speaker 3: junk to me all day long. I said, I'm not
- 23:48Speaker 3: saying a word, but you better believe that. When I
- 23:51Speaker 3: woke up this morning, the very first thing I did
- 23:54Speaker 3: was flood his text message with every kind of Steelers
- 23:57Speaker 3: Jeff Smart Alan, I'm in you know, I would ride
- 24:02Speaker 3: it today and I'm gonna go back to being silent tomorrow.
- 24:06Speaker 3: And uh, because I don't I want to wait, I want,
- 24:09Speaker 3: I want to I don't want to talk too much.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Man, I don't want to jinx it.
- 24:13Speaker 3: But I mean, dude, listen, yesterday, yesterday a bird flew
- 24:17Speaker 3: in our church before worship, and uh, we couldn't get
- 24:20Speaker 3: that bird out.
- 24:22Speaker 4: And I heard it during worship.
- 24:24Speaker 2: Man, wasn't it wasn't a raven? Wasn't it?
- 24:27Speaker 4: That's all they kept saying to me. Is that a
- 24:29Speaker 4: raven up there? That a raven up there? It's all
- 24:35Speaker 4: right man, y'all. Yeah, I'm gonna let y'all have a moment.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Listen. You're a you're a man of of God. You
- 24:40Speaker 2: wouldn't take the innocent life of a raven, would you.
- 24:46Speaker 4: In a second? If I needed it? If I needed it?
- 24:51Speaker 3: Listen, man, God gave us that raven. If I'm hungry, Yeah,
- 24:56Speaker 3: I'm telling you listen, man. I I know there's people
- 24:59Speaker 3: in Vermont that don't like to hear those kind of things.
- 25:02Speaker 3: There's a lot of people up in Vermont that are like,
- 25:04Speaker 3: you know, they see a bug and that's a precious life,
- 25:07Speaker 3: and not me.
- 25:09Speaker 4: I mean, I believe in the value of life. But
- 25:11Speaker 4: I'm just saying I kill bugs and I eight animals.
- 25:14Speaker 4: That's all from the Lord.
- 25:18Speaker 2: I can't wait. I hope I have you on the
- 25:22Speaker 2: air with me next Monday. I can only hope, regardless
- 25:27Speaker 2: of what happens. I've reached out to my nephews. They
- 25:30Speaker 2: were there in Pittsburgh last night, they were at the game.
- 25:33Speaker 2: They haven't called me back yet. I'm guessing they're still sleeping. Yeah,
- 25:43Speaker 2: you know what I mean, they probably just went to
- 25:46Speaker 2: bed a little while ago. I mean, there, what twenty
- 25:50Speaker 2: one years old.
- 25:50Speaker 3: There's a lot of establishments around that around Acrosure Stadium.
- 25:57Speaker 3: I still call it Hansfield, but uh yeah, they probably
- 26:01Speaker 3: just got to bed about.
- 26:02Speaker 4: An hour ago. I don't I don't blame him. I
- 26:06Speaker 4: don't blame him. I don't. I don't blame him. I'm
- 26:09Speaker 4: forty six, man. I can't. I can't. I can't stay
- 26:12Speaker 4: up that late.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Anymore, man, But you would have been there last night though,
- 26:16Speaker 2: with with those young bloods if you had.
- 26:18Speaker 4: To, Oh, heck yeah, I would have been there. I
- 26:22Speaker 4: would have I'd have pushed a lot of coffee in
- 26:24Speaker 4: my system yesterday. To dude, I knew. I knew we
- 26:29Speaker 4: weren't gonna lose without a fight.
- 26:31Speaker 3: When they came back on TV playing Renegade in the
- 26:34Speaker 3: fourt I knew. I knew the way that stadium have
- 26:38Speaker 3: responded to Renegade that Okay, we're not We're not gonna
- 26:42Speaker 3: go down. We're not gonna go down easy like We're
- 26:44Speaker 3: gonna like our guys are gonna fight back.
- 26:46Speaker 2: My brother Christ when he hears Renegade Christ, it.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Gets played in our household about about on a daily
- 26:56Speaker 3: basis during football season, multiple times a day.
- 27:00Speaker 2: He sent me a text that I got this morning
- 27:03Speaker 2: that says you better have stayed up for that last night.
- 27:06Speaker 2: And I was exhausted, buddy. It went to bed, and
- 27:10Speaker 2: I was honest with him. I told him that I
- 27:13Speaker 2: missed it. He is absolutely disgusted with me. I don't
- 27:17Speaker 2: know if I'm going to be thrown out of the
- 27:19Speaker 2: family or what. He won't even talk to me.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Listen, listen, man. We are people with responsibilities, and we
- 27:30Speaker 3: don't have grown children. We have young children, and they
- 27:34Speaker 3: tend to keep us up and keep us moving.
- 27:36Speaker 4: We need our rest.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm saying true. Yeah, I went to I had
- 27:41Speaker 2: to get Lily in bed last night. Was late enough,
- 27:43Speaker 2: and enough's enough. She's gonna get the first paint day
- 27:45Speaker 2: back at school, bud. Yeah, but still that's not an
- 27:49Speaker 2: acceptable excuse for my brother.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Though. Well I did. I ain't gonna lie.
- 27:56Speaker 3: I was in the chair, wrapped up in a blanket
- 27:59Speaker 3: and one eye open, and I mean I just went back.
- 28:04Speaker 4: And forth like I've got to do this, I've got
- 28:06Speaker 4: I needed, I need to and I just bro they
- 28:10Speaker 4: and they're and now they're playing an eight twenty game
- 28:12Speaker 4: on Monday.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Yeah, how am I gonna do this?
- 28:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 28:16Speaker 4: You know I can't keep living like this.
- 28:18Speaker 2: You need to call out sick, buddy.
- 28:23Speaker 3: If I if I could, Man, if I had not
- 28:25Speaker 3: just come back from vacation.
- 28:27Speaker 4: With a load of stuff, I would, I would call
- 28:28Speaker 4: out sick of a heartbeat.
- 28:29Speaker 2: But brother, I love having you on. I can only hope.
- 28:33Speaker 2: I can only hope I'll get you next time.
- 28:35Speaker 4: After that text, Yeah, man, absolutely, buddy. I love you. Well,
- 28:40Speaker 4: I'll check in with you. We'll see if we can
- 28:41Speaker 4: make it happen. All right, brother, you love you too, Buddy.
- 28:45Speaker 2: What do you have for a temperature down there this morning?
- 28:47Speaker 2: In North Carolina? We're at uh where I was at
- 28:49Speaker 2: negative four at my house this morning. What do you have?
- 28:53Speaker 4: Negative four?
- 28:54Speaker 3: Well, there's no snow on the ground, and right now
- 28:57Speaker 3: it's it's forty forty two. Forty forty two. I will
- 29:08Speaker 3: tell you last week I was in the mountains North
- 29:10Speaker 3: Carolina and for three days we had temperatures in single digits.
- 29:15Speaker 4: Yeah, and we saw some snow. Man, it was nice
- 29:18Speaker 4: to see some snow, but it was also nice not
- 29:21Speaker 4: have to clean it up. Yeah.
- 29:23Speaker 2: I bet. I miss you, buddy, an awful lot.
- 29:27Speaker 4: Miss you too.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Man Likewise, buddy, hug everybody. You'all have a great day
- 29:31Speaker 3: and barry.
- 29:31Speaker 2: All right, Buddy, Over and out. Chris Sawtrey right there.
- 29:38Speaker 2: One of the biggest Steelers fans that I've ever known.
- 29:44Speaker 2: And I say one of the biggest because I can't
- 29:46Speaker 2: say the biggest because my brother possibly takes that. I mean,
- 29:51Speaker 2: when you've got the toothbrush holder, the shower curtain, the
- 29:55Speaker 2: floor mats, the underwear, and the list goes on. The
- 30:00Speaker 2: scarf that hat, the cutting board at home, Christmas tree
- 30:12Speaker 2: ornaments that are all Steelers, and believe me, the list
- 30:18Speaker 2: goes on from there. The Winter Solstice High School basketball
- 30:24Speaker 2: tournament at the odd over the weekend was tremendous. If
- 30:30Speaker 2: you were one of the hundreds of people that were
- 30:36Speaker 2: up there over the weekend, you know that you had
- 30:41Speaker 2: a damn good time. You also know that those kids
- 30:46Speaker 2: gave their heart and soul and their coaching faculty really
- 30:56Speaker 2: put it all in there. And thanks to Carl Parton
- 30:59Speaker 2: for bringing the games to our eyes and our ears.
- 31:04Speaker 2: For those of us that were not able to be
- 31:07Speaker 2: at the auditorium this weekend, Spalding beat you thirty two,
- 31:10Speaker 2: forty three, thirty eight. He's and boys took People's sixty
- 31:16Speaker 2: six fifty three, the girls took People's fifty four twenty four.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Just some of the games, just some of the games incredible,
- 31:28Speaker 2: just incredible. I hope you had a great weekend. I
- 31:34Speaker 2: know that so many of us were distracted about what
- 31:38Speaker 2: is going on in the world with the former Venezuela president,
- 31:49Speaker 2: Nicholas Maduro, who, by the way, is scheduled to appear
- 31:53Speaker 2: in federal court in Manhattan at twelve noon today, couple
- 32:02Speaker 2: of hours away. He'll be arraigned on a four count
- 32:06Speaker 2: indictment charging him with leading a twenty five year narco
- 32:13Speaker 2: terrorism conspiracy that included several high ranking members of his administration,
- 32:26Speaker 2: if that's what you want to call it. So, what
- 32:31Speaker 2: do you think about all of this? Saw a lot
- 32:39Speaker 2: of opinions flying around on social media this weekend. What
- 32:45Speaker 2: do you think is going to happen next?
- 32:50Speaker 4: Do you think the world.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Really now is going to be a safer place? What's
- 33:05Speaker 2: the potential fallout around the globe?
- 33:10Speaker 4: Now?
- 33:14Speaker 2: What impact is the attack on Venezuela going to have
- 33:23Speaker 2: on oil prices? We got the right saying prices are
- 33:32Speaker 2: going to go down. We got the left saying prices
- 33:34Speaker 2: are going to go up. I gotta get somebody on
- 33:40Speaker 2: the air with me who has a pretty solid read
- 33:44Speaker 2: on this, unbiased. What do you say about all this?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Don't be shy, now drop your comment. New leadership in Venezuela.
- 33:59Speaker 2: You think it's gonna bring down the price of oil?
- 34:07Speaker 2: Russian China? Everybody so worked up about this? There have
- 34:13Speaker 2: and I saw them. Saw in the comments a lot
- 34:18Speaker 2: of comparisons to the US invasion of Panama back in
- 34:22Speaker 2: eighty nine. I remember that well, I was a senior
- 34:27Speaker 2: in high school under President Bush. Is this the same
- 34:38Speaker 2: or do you think the United States is about to
- 34:42Speaker 2: get involved with a quagmire? And I know, I mean
- 34:55Speaker 2: Tammy's comment here, I think the president needs to go
- 34:57Speaker 2: through Congress. Things are out of control. I know how
- 35:02Speaker 2: many are saying that. I know, but yeah, it's just
- 35:11Speaker 2: popping up in front of me. Maduro scheduled appear in
- 35:15Speaker 2: federal court noon today. Let's see for count indictment twenty
- 35:22Speaker 2: five year narco terrorism conspiracy. Yeah, let's see anything else?
- 35:30Speaker 2: Not really, not really, I mean, this is a This
- 35:38Speaker 2: is a pretty high profile courthouse. Did He's been in there,
- 35:44Speaker 2: Luigi's been in there. Trump's been in there all recently too.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Did you see the people lined up waiting to get
- 35:58Speaker 2: a visual of Maduro when he arrives in the courthouse.
- 36:07Speaker 2: People started lining up last night, not giving a good
- 36:17Speaker 2: damn about NFL games. They wanted to camp out in
- 36:23Speaker 2: Manhattan just to get a glimpse of Maduro walking into
- 36:27Speaker 2: the courthouse this morning. The weapons offenses, the drug trafficking,
- 36:38Speaker 2: there's no question there's a lot of serious charges here
- 36:46Speaker 2: and a lot of questions that Americans and the rest
- 36:51Speaker 2: of the world is asking. Did we go about it
- 36:54Speaker 2: the right way? And man, there's a good number of
- 36:57Speaker 2: people down in Florida that are just thrilled Venezuelans that
- 37:05Speaker 2: are thrilled that we've got this guy and his wife.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I'm sure she's pretty pissed off. Oh, Stacy says China,
- 37:20Speaker 2: Russia and all of the countries that have been getting
- 37:23Speaker 2: cheap black market oil will now have to pay fair
- 37:26Speaker 2: market price that will go to the Venezuelan economy, not
- 37:32Speaker 2: in the corrupt leaders pockets. It's gonna be interesting right
- 37:43Speaker 2: out of the gate. In twenty twenty six, here we go, big,
- 37:46Speaker 2: big story, wasting no time. We'll see what happens. US
- 37:55Speaker 2: military operation that led to the capture of Nicholas Maduro
- 37:59Speaker 2: and his wife has also left. And I'm reading right
- 38:01Speaker 2: here from CNN stranded tourists wondering how to get home
- 38:09Speaker 2: or to their next destination. The FAA has temporarily closed
- 38:17Speaker 2: airspace over the entire Caribbean.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Wow.
- 38:28Speaker 2: Puerto Rico, San Juan, Yeah, at airport is pretty much
- 38:36Speaker 2: shut down. Wow, We'll see what happens with that. I'll
- 38:48Speaker 2: try to be watching. I'll try to be paying attention,
- 38:51Speaker 2: and if I miss something, please text me let me
- 38:54Speaker 2: know about what's breaking. I'll be again listening and following
- 38:59Speaker 2: on the go. Today, we got a guy that has
- 39:01Speaker 2: been taken into custody by police after officers and secret
- 39:06Speaker 2: serviceations responded to the Cincinnati home of Vice President Jade
- 39:12Speaker 2: Vance overnight damage to the windows of the home. Police
- 39:22Speaker 2: unseen for several hours going in and out of the house.
- 39:28Speaker 2: They've got a guy in custody, let's see, arrested for
- 39:34Speaker 2: causing property damage, including breaking windows on the exterior of
- 39:38Speaker 2: a personal residence. It's all went down shortly after midnight,
- 39:52Speaker 2: while you were sleeping, or maybe you were still up celebrating.
- 39:55Speaker 2: The stealers went, I don't know. Vance had been in
- 40:00Speaker 2: Cincinnati for the last week, but he left a couple
- 40:07Speaker 2: hours before this. He left yesterday afternoon, so it wasn't
- 40:12Speaker 2: even home. Developing story, Yeah, you bet, you bet, and
- 40:18Speaker 2: we'll be watching and paying attention to it. Oh. The
- 40:25Speaker 2: Tim Waltz story says he's not going to run for
- 40:33Speaker 2: a third term as Minnesota governor. Just making the announcement
- 40:40Speaker 2: this morning, not going to run for the third term
- 40:51Speaker 2: less than four months after launching a re election campaign. Amazing,
- 40:58Speaker 2: But is it though? Sixty one years old? Is what
- 41:04Speaker 2: he's going to do now? I have ideas, and I've
- 41:12Speaker 2: got some pretty snarky ideas, but I'll just keep them
- 41:16Speaker 2: to myself of what he's going to do with all
- 41:21Speaker 2: his free time?
- 41:22Speaker 4: Now?
- 41:26Speaker 2: What else is happening? Molly Gray announcing a new run
- 41:32Speaker 2: for for mont lieutenant governor. That's in the news. I
- 41:45Speaker 2: want to know what you I have thoughts about this.
- 41:49Speaker 2: I have opinions about this, and some of them are
- 41:53Speaker 2: a little bit, but I want to know what yours are.
- 42:06Speaker 2: What else is happening? What else is happening? I know
- 42:11Speaker 2: there's so much. There's this Maduro thing is just oversaturating
- 42:17Speaker 2: everything right now. New York City's subway and bus fares
- 42:25Speaker 2: rose to three dollars yesterday, up ten cents for most rides.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Authority Services is expected to raise three hundred and fifty
- 42:40Speaker 2: million dollars annually. Mamdannie is uh, I'm going to be
- 42:58Speaker 2: trying to do a lot of things in New York today.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Four million passengers on the subways daily. Good luck if
- 43:16Speaker 2: you got to the movies this weekend, and I know
- 43:19Speaker 2: FGB Theaters was jamming them out the Capitol Showplace over
- 43:24Speaker 2: in Montpellier, the Paramount Twin right here in the Granite City. Avatar,
- 43:29Speaker 2: Fire and Ash haven't seen it yet, grossed one billion
- 43:35Speaker 2: dollars at the box office in eighteen days, Jane Cameron's
- 43:44Speaker 2: fourth movie to reach that milestone a billion dollars.
- 43:54Speaker 4: Uh.
- 43:55Speaker 2: By the way, FGB theaters dot com is the site
- 44:00Speaker 2: that you should. You should get to a movie this week.
- 44:05Speaker 2: You really should. Five dollars Tuesdays over at the Capitol Showplace,
- 44:14Speaker 2: five dollars Wednesdays right here in Barry at the Paramount,
- 44:19Speaker 2: All movies, all showtimes. Really you should go treat yourself,
- 44:25Speaker 2: take your wife, take your girlfriend out, surprise him, go
- 44:27Speaker 2: see a movie, get some popcorn, get in there. Lights
- 44:33Speaker 2: will be off. Unplug a little bit from all of
- 44:38Speaker 2: the insanity going on to the world, escape and go
- 44:43Speaker 2: relax and enjoy a movie. I said this last week,
- 44:54Speaker 2: and I want to push this again because it's it's
- 44:58Speaker 2: pretty important that with the new year and the Vermont
- 45:05Speaker 2: Legislature starting up a new session, there are going to
- 45:09Speaker 2: be some some big changes coming, especially to small businesses.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Here in Vermont. I don't know of anybody that's going
- 45:24Speaker 2: to be exempt from these changes coming. Some of them
- 45:30Speaker 2: you might think are pretty good, some you might think
- 45:33Speaker 2: are pretty bad, but they're all going to impact us
- 45:39Speaker 2: in different ways. Here's what's happening. The Central Vermont Chamber
- 45:47Speaker 2: of Commerce is doing a public outreach to everyone and anyone,
- 45:57Speaker 2: and they're saying, look, we're going to host a gathering
- 46:03Speaker 2: to connect with Vermont legislatures, the leaders that drop the bills,
- 46:15Speaker 2: make the laws. Our government that is supposed to be
- 46:22Speaker 2: working for us, but so many of us are just
- 46:28Speaker 2: not engaged for whatever reason. Maybe we feel that our
- 46:36Speaker 2: voice won't be heard, or that it doesn't matter, or
- 46:39Speaker 2: that they've got an agenda that they're going to be
- 46:42Speaker 2: sticking to regardless of all things. But the Chamber of
- 46:47Speaker 2: Commerce is saying, look, we're going to get together at
- 46:51Speaker 2: the Governor's Ballroom at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Montpellier
- 46:55Speaker 2: on Wednesday night, February fourth, and you're all invited, especially
- 47:01Speaker 2: if you're a business owner, if you're a business professional,
- 47:09Speaker 2: you should be there. You should put that on your
- 47:11Speaker 2: calendar right now. You should get in touch with the
- 47:13Speaker 2: Chamber of commerce and say, look, I heard jd on
- 47:17Speaker 2: aired out talking about this. I want to be there.
- 47:20Speaker 2: I want to get on the invite list. It's that simple.
- 47:24Speaker 2: This is your chance to speak directly to You're from
- 47:29Speaker 2: a legislators. You've got the opportunity there, It is right
- 47:36Speaker 2: in front of you. I'm hoping to be there. The
- 47:41Speaker 2: only thing that will prevent me from being, frankly anywhere,
- 47:48Speaker 2: is any kind of game or a school event that
- 47:53Speaker 2: my daughter is involved with, basketball, soccer. It doesn't matter
- 47:59Speaker 2: what it is. If she's playing, I'm going to be there.
- 48:05Speaker 2: And if I'm able to be there on Wednesday, the
- 48:09Speaker 2: fourth of February, I will be and if I'm able
- 48:14Speaker 2: to stream it live, I will question for some of
- 48:24Speaker 2: you out there this morning, I have been reading a
- 48:30Speaker 2: little bit about the coming year technology, what's new, what's
- 48:39Speaker 2: possibly going to be here by twenty twenty eight, by
- 48:44Speaker 2: twenty thirty, and the snapshot of what twenty twenty six
- 48:51Speaker 2: is looking like with regard to technology, specifically AI. And
- 49:01Speaker 2: what I read is a lot of people that are
- 49:05Speaker 2: just reacting to the fear monkering that's coming down the
- 49:09Speaker 2: pipe about AI, that we just believe what we hear,
- 49:14Speaker 2: so quickly, so easily, without taking the time to take
- 49:19Speaker 2: a little bit of a dive ourselves and look into
- 49:23Speaker 2: things and construct our own opinions about you. Just say
- 49:30Speaker 2: the words AI and people instantly have thoughts, feelings, opinions,
- 49:40Speaker 2: and we react quickly. AI is good, AI's bad. AI
- 49:46Speaker 2: is going to kill us. The robots are going to
- 49:47Speaker 2: kill us. We're gonna be fighting with them within the
- 49:49Speaker 2: next five years. The future of our children, if they're
- 49:55Speaker 2: not embracing AI, they're gonna fall flat on their asses.
- 50:01Speaker 2: They're going to fail. I hear it. I know you do.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Even my little girl is like, yeah, Dad, that's fake
- 50:13Speaker 2: what you're watching? That's AI? What's real anymore? I know
- 50:19Speaker 2: there's good, there's bad, and there's everything in between to
- 50:22Speaker 2: talk about when it comes to AI. But when it
- 50:25Speaker 2: comes to what are leaders not only our political leaders,
- 50:33Speaker 2: but also our our leaders in the workforce? Are managers?
- 50:44Speaker 2: Our managers, manager, the bosses, the big dogs. Where it
- 50:55Speaker 2: all trickles down from how are they being influenced by AI?
- 51:06Speaker 2: Long term influence AI bias? Not just in our government leaders.
- 51:22Speaker 2: You know, I think a dispensa and how.
- 51:29Speaker 3: What is it?
- 51:30Speaker 2: Seventy somethings percent of the thoughts that we have in
- 51:34Speaker 2: our minds are echoed day after day, over seventy percent.
- 51:43Speaker 2: And that's a cycle that's pretty strong. It's got a
- 51:46Speaker 2: lot of momentum. And to break that or to slow
- 51:51Speaker 2: that down, or to start thinking more openly or broadly
- 51:58Speaker 2: is not that easy for a lot of us to do.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Because we're opinionated, we're influenced where human beings, we're all
- 52:08Speaker 2: susceptible to it. But do you think AI bias is
- 52:13Speaker 2: something that is already having in effect on American political
- 52:22Speaker 2: leaders or the leaders of our workplaces. What do you
- 52:32Speaker 2: think about this kind of stuff? Is AI just kind
- 52:38Speaker 2: of telling us what we want to hear? Is this
- 52:45Speaker 2: going to shape the mission of companies their motives? So
- 52:58Speaker 2: many leaders surround themselves with people who tell them what
- 53:08Speaker 2: they want to hear. And whether you know, and maybe
- 53:21Speaker 2: maybe AI has a little bit of a positivity bias,
- 53:28Speaker 2: the class is always half fault. I don't know. There's
- 53:38Speaker 2: some new studies out about this, about this deep persistent
- 53:47Speaker 2: positivity vibe if you will, in the workplace that may
- 53:56Speaker 2: or even may not be coming from a source of
- 54:01Speaker 2: artificial intelligence. I'm going to chat at some point very soon,
- 54:07Speaker 2: I hope with a lady who is the host of
- 54:14Speaker 2: the Growth and Grit podcast and get her take on this.
- 54:21Speaker 2: And I'm hoping that that's going to happen really soon.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Her name is Julia Davis, and I'm hoping she'll shed
- 54:30Speaker 2: some light on this kind of stuff. Be careful with
- 54:36Speaker 2: what you hear. The higher you rise, the less truth
- 54:48Speaker 2: you hear. Maybe just a thought, I would love to
- 55:00Speaker 2: hear what you have to say about this. I'll make
- 55:03Speaker 2: it the question of the day. I'll put it up there,
- 55:06Speaker 2: and man, I would love to see some comments about
- 55:09Speaker 2: this Wednesday. This week, I'm going to get back connected
- 55:26Speaker 2: with Sweethearts and Heroes on the air. Rex is going
- 55:33Speaker 2: to be here on Thursday, and g is going to
- 55:38Speaker 2: close out the week with a bang on Friday. It
- 55:44Speaker 2: is already the fifth day of twenty twenty six. And
- 55:56Speaker 2: maybe you're a little bit like me. You're just kind
- 55:59Speaker 2: of flying one hundred miles an hour and you haven't
- 56:05Speaker 2: taken a minute to just pause and stop, just be
- 56:12Speaker 2: quiet for a little while, shut the music off, take
- 56:15Speaker 2: a deep breath, reflect on your life. Reflect on the
- 56:18Speaker 2: past year, whether it was a great one for you
- 56:21Speaker 2: or whether it was kind of shitty, but just stop,
- 56:25Speaker 2: take a deep breath. Okay. I'm trying, not always succeeding,
- 56:34Speaker 2: but I'm trying to do that, and I hope that
- 56:37Speaker 2: you will too. We got a great show for you tomorrow.
- 56:41Speaker 2: It is. It's just gonna be It's gonna be beautiful.
- 56:48Speaker 2: And I want to thank you again for tuning in
- 56:52Speaker 2: this morning and connecting with us daily. Does it feel good?
- 57:00Speaker 2: And man, it's like going into twenty six. Got to
- 57:04Speaker 2: begin the work week on Mondays with some story somewhere,
- 57:09Speaker 2: whether it's here in Vermont or elsewhere, that is a
- 57:13Speaker 2: feel good story that that's what we're left with. Hospital
- 57:20Speaker 2: workers in Iowa went above and beyond to find a
- 57:26Speaker 2: woman's set of lost rings. True story. Her name is
- 57:32Speaker 2: Susan Sinwell. She had lost her grandparents' wedding rings, removed
- 57:41Speaker 2: them for an X ray, and didn't realize they were
- 57:46Speaker 2: missing until the next day. Come on, now we've all
- 57:51Speaker 2: done that, wrapped them in a napkin, and they ended
- 57:56Speaker 2: up in the trash compactor. The maintenance workers at this
- 58:03Speaker 2: hospital used metal detectors. They separated out the trash by
- 58:10Speaker 2: hand and use these metal detectors to try to find
- 58:17Speaker 2: these rings. The staff even used a portable X ray
- 58:26Speaker 2: machine to try to find these rings because it's powerful,
- 58:35Speaker 2: and they found them. We'll leave you with that this morning.
- 58:42Speaker 2: I love stuff like this. Have a beautiful rest of
- 58:46Speaker 2: your day. It's ten o'clock. Are we at zero yet?
- 58:50Speaker 2: Have we warmed up to zero yet? We'll catch you
- 58:55Speaker 2: again soon, God bless you. Take one hour at a
- 58:57Speaker 2: time today. We'll get through your Monday. We'll get through
- 59:00Speaker 2: your work week together. We'll see you real soon. Right
- 59:03Speaker 2: here the air. A podcast.
