- 0:07Speaker 1: It's Me podcast. Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only
- 0:12Speaker 1: game show where conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer
- 0:15Speaker 1: Newhart and today we're joined by Jannis, Brody, Randall, Seth, Corey,
- 0:20Speaker 1: Maggie and Jordan. This is a ten round quiz show
- 0:23Speaker 1: with questions for meat Eater's four verticals, which are hunting, fishing, conservation,
- 0:27Speaker 1: and cooking, and there's a prize. Meat Eater will donate
- 0:30Speaker 1: five hundred dollars to the conservation organization of the winners
- 0:34Speaker 1: choosing Jordan, Welcome to the show. It's been a minute
- 0:36Speaker 1: since you've been here.
- 0:37Speaker 2: It has Yeah, thank you.
- 0:38Speaker 1: What do you do in town this week? There's always
- 0:40Speaker 1: a reason when you're here? There is well.
- 0:43Speaker 3: So I've been working on a new podcast series called
- 0:46Speaker 3: Blood Trails. We published the first episode, kind of a
- 0:49Speaker 3: pilot episode, back in March and people seem to like it.
- 0:53Speaker 3: So we're going to do a full season, first episodes
- 0:56Speaker 3: coming out October thirtieth. If you didn't get a chance
- 0:59Speaker 3: to watch or to listen to the first episode. This
- 1:02Speaker 3: is meat Eater's first foray into true crime. So these
- 1:06Speaker 3: are true crime stories about hunters, anglers, campers, hikers, public
- 1:11Speaker 3: land users people getting into pretty serious trouble in the outdoors.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Example, one of the first episode you did, it was
- 1:19Speaker 1: a turkey hunter who was killed, right, that's right. Okay,
- 1:21Speaker 1: give me an example of an upcoming episode that you
- 1:23Speaker 1: have this season.
- 1:24Speaker 3: So the first episode, I believe at this point, is
- 1:28Speaker 3: about a deer hunter in Wisconsin and his name was
- 1:35Speaker 3: Robert Christian. You went by Bob and he was going
- 1:39Speaker 3: out for the first day of bow hunting season. And
- 1:43Speaker 3: this was all the way back in nineteen seventy seven,
- 1:45Speaker 3: so he was kind of an early adopter as far
- 1:47Speaker 3: as bow hunting goes.
- 1:48Speaker 1: He was supposed to meet his friend.
- 1:51Speaker 3: They were going to spend the night at the friend's
- 1:53Speaker 3: house on Friday night and then go out to hunt
- 1:56Speaker 3: the opener on Saturday. But Bob never showed rowed up
- 2:00Speaker 3: to his friend's house. He disappeared on the way between Madison,
- 2:05Speaker 3: Wisconsin and bear A Boo, Wisconsin. They found his car,
- 2:08Speaker 3: but no Bob, and so that episode is just about
- 2:12Speaker 3: the investigation into that disappearance, and to this day, no
- 2:16Speaker 3: one knows what happened. Who you talking about that episode?
- 2:21Speaker 3: Talk to Bob's sister. I talked to the friend that
- 2:25Speaker 3: he was supposed to hunt with. I talked to the
- 2:28Speaker 3: detective who's kind of leading the investigation at this point,
- 2:34Speaker 3: and there's some I mean, there's a lot of crazy details.
- 2:37Speaker 3: The story involves a nun, it involves it involves John
- 2:45Speaker 3: Wayne Gacy potentially, who, if.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You don't know, is killer Clown.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Very famous serial killer out of Chicago. He was in
- 2:54Speaker 3: the area around the time that Bob disappeared. So that
- 2:56Speaker 3: was one theory. And so you know, there's enough, I
- 3:02Speaker 3: would say, to have some interesting theories about what happened,
- 3:07Speaker 3: but no one quite knows for sure.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Pilot episode was very entertaining. A lot going on on
- 3:12Speaker 1: that show. Again, is it October thirty first?
- 3:15Speaker 3: October thirtieth, first episode? The plan is to release an
- 3:18Speaker 3: episode a week after that.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Okay, it's on its own feed, own feed.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Yeah, it's on its own feed. So please once it
- 3:25Speaker 3: comes out, you know, go listen to that first episode.
- 3:29Speaker 3: If you like it, please subscribe that way or follow
- 3:32Speaker 3: I guess on Spotify or you know whatever platform you use.
- 3:36Speaker 3: That way, it'll tell you when the next episode comes out.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Looking forward to it. Maggie holthough another out of town
- 3:40Speaker 1: or what are you doing here this week? Oh?
- 3:42Speaker 4: You know, I'm just poking around the office, hanging out
- 3:46Speaker 4: while some college kids cook us some food at roasts.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Okay, very excited for that episode. And Yanni, we were
- 3:56Speaker 1: treated to some interesting Okaye kid cuisine. And I heard
- 4:01Speaker 1: it was your idea to get the meat thermometer out
- 4:04Speaker 1: for the bear meat.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:06Speaker 5: Yeah, well Brody spotted the bloody burgers and I was like,
- 4:10Speaker 5: let's get a thermometer.
- 4:12Speaker 1: No, Yann has told me, and I I had a
- 4:16Speaker 1: very audible laugh.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:18Speaker 6: The first temperature reading it was it was two digits.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Before Now I turned in for that.
- 4:25Speaker 5: This is these are college kids, and I suggested last
- 4:28Speaker 5: week that we just overserve them a little bit and
- 4:31Speaker 5: give him a fridge full leftover.
- 4:33Speaker 6: Well ithe old enough to drink.
- 4:36Speaker 5: But Yanna said that was the worst idea I've ever had.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Oh no, it wouldn't have helped.
- 4:40Speaker 6: It would have said it.
- 4:41Speaker 2: Was the worst idea.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Maybe you always have good ideas and that was just
- 4:46Speaker 1: the worst of the good ideas. Well, that's what he meant.
- 4:48Speaker 5: I didn't read it that way.
- 4:49Speaker 6: Yeah, okay, so mayscind that idea.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Randall, We can't as a company get eighteen year old's trunk.
- 4:59Speaker 5: Oh that's right. Yeah, no, that's a good call.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I didn't even think of that. What's the smoking age
- 5:05Speaker 1: in Montana? Though? You get a oh maybe? Okay, now
- 5:09Speaker 1: we're back on track.
- 5:10Speaker 5: Yep, ye, we should have had a collaboration.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Isn't that also? All right?
- 5:17Speaker 6: Back to the Okay, Maggie a bunch of people with
- 5:20Speaker 6: the munchies cooking.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I hadn't even thought of that. But yeah, that that
- 5:24Speaker 1: was a bad idea. Then Maggie and Brody are hosting
- 5:28Speaker 1: that upcoming episode. No, they're judging that upcoming episode. Or
- 5:31Speaker 1: some college kids cook bear meat.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It's a fun one, all right.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Here's our Infrequently Asked Questions segment. If you have a
- 5:38Speaker 1: trivia related question for our crew, send it to Trivia
- 5:41Speaker 1: at the Medeater dot com with the subject line I

- 5:59Speaker 1: win our list question of the week and get your
- 6:02Speaker 1: address so we can send you that board game. I
- 6:05Speaker 1: am usually a good month behind in the Meat Eater
- 6:09Speaker 1: in box. And then sometimes I like your question, but
- 6:11Speaker 1: I squirrel it away for a future episode because if
- 6:13Speaker 1: the answer is like Kentucky and I just had the
- 6:16Speaker 1: answer Kentucky last week, then I don't want to use
- 6:19Speaker 1: it in back to back episodes. So to answer your question, Ben,
- 6:22Speaker 1: you just hear your name on the show.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Can I chime in because I'm hosting soon?
- 6:26Speaker 1: Yep.
- 6:26Speaker 6: If you want to skip that whole process, send me
- 6:29Speaker 6: some questions on my Instagram.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Oh okay, there you go.
- 6:32Speaker 6: Then I'll let you know you won't have to wait.
- 6:35Speaker 5: And if you'd rather have me ask those questions, send
- 6:38Speaker 5: it to my Instagram instead.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And for every other question you want to send, just
- 6:42Speaker 1: email Trivia at the meadeater dot com for housekeeping. Today,

- 7:19Speaker 1: the live tour again Fayetteville. They must have a lot
- 7:21Speaker 1: of randomals down there that they're already sold out. I
- 7:24Speaker 1: can't think of why else.
- 7:25Speaker 5: I think they have some uh, yeah, you're probably right,
- 7:28Speaker 5: random some Cleaniacs.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Oh I like that. That's good. You just come up
- 7:33Speaker 1: with that. Yeah, Brent, Brent, what do you got for that? Reimals?
- 7:42Speaker 1: I don't know. We're gonna have to noodle on that,
- 7:45Speaker 1: ye ye, all right. The Shelby Index for today is
- 7:48Speaker 1: a four, so our winner should get eight correct answers.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And with that we're onto the game of trivia. Play
- 7:53Speaker 1: the drop, Phil, Look, I need to know what I
- 7:59Speaker 1: stand everything? How's it just tend to win everything? Game
- 8:12Speaker 1: on Suckers Question one. The topic is hunting, and as always,
- 8:15Speaker 1: this will be multiple choice. Audubon, Ducks Unlimited, and the
- 8:20Speaker 1: Cornell Lab have all published articles on how to distinguish
- 8:24Speaker 1: between a redhead and a blank Is it canvas back?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Cinnamon Teal Ring neck or GoldenEye. Audubon, Ducks Unlimited, and
- 8:39Speaker 1: the Cornell Lab have all published articles on how to
- 8:43Speaker 1: distinguish between a redhead and a blank. Your four choices
- 8:47Speaker 1: canvas back, cinnamon, teal, ring neck, GoldenEye, Yanni our first
- 8:56Speaker 1: answer in the room. Do you have this one right? Yanni?
- 8:59Speaker 2: I believe so.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Okay, I think I know why you would know this.
- 9:05Speaker 1: We could talk about it after the flavor text. Audubon,
- 9:08Speaker 1: Ducks Unlimited in the Cornell Lamp have all published articles
- 9:12Speaker 1: on how to distinguish between a redhead and a blank?
- 9:16Speaker 6: Honest? Did you ever get into shooting those golden eyes
- 9:18Speaker 6: on the river back when we live in Colorado?
- 9:21Speaker 2: No? No, And Steve kind of got really into it
- 9:23Speaker 2: when we first moved here to Bozeman. But not my
- 9:26Speaker 2: thing to shoot ducks. I don't like to eat rush
- 9:30Speaker 2: of ring necks, different kind of ring neck. But we've
- 9:34Speaker 2: had a rooster in our yard.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Is that new on the Putellis property?
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 9:39Speaker 6: A wild cock in your yard.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I believe so. I mean, he looks vibrant, healthy, all
- 9:45Speaker 2: his tail feathers. He's coming to get a little scratch
- 9:49Speaker 2: around the chicken coop.
- 9:50Speaker 6: Over a week till pheasants season.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Okay, is he safe?
- 9:53Speaker 4: Oh?
- 9:54Speaker 2: It is? I thought October first was the opener you
- 9:57Speaker 2: didn't bring no.
- 10:03Speaker 1: When he left Thomas, he's waiting to get a good pattern.
- 10:09Speaker 2: That's like a full on mountain pheasant.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Yeah, live off there right. That thing ain't anywhere near
- 10:17Speaker 1: some CRP. Not even kind of again, to distinguish between
- 10:21Speaker 1: redhead and a blank canvas back, cinnamon teal, ring neck,
- 10:25Speaker 1: golden eye. Is everybody ready? Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Giannis canvas back, Jordan canvas back, Randall, cinnamon teal, Maggie
- 10:35Speaker 1: canvas back, Seth, Corey and Brody. I'll say canvas back.
- 10:40Speaker 1: They got it. The correct answer is a canvas back.
- 10:44Speaker 1: In the nineteen seventies, canvas backs outnumbered redheads by two
- 10:47Speaker 1: to one, but today there are more redheads than canvas backs.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Managing these fluctuating populations is why it's crucial for hunters
- 10:55Speaker 1: to be able to tell the difference. Some identifying features
- 10:59Speaker 1: are that canvas back are bigger, with a longer forehead
- 11:02Speaker 1: and red eye, while redheads are smaller with a shorter
- 11:06Speaker 1: forehead and yellow eye. Usually a redhead has a more
- 11:09Speaker 1: gray body, while a canvas back has a more white body.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Here is a picture of the two.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Ay, Spenser, I definitely did not prep this.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Oh that's okay. We don't have a picture of the two.
- 11:20Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm going to add it in post. How
- 11:22Speaker 4: about did you know?
- 11:23Speaker 6: Did you know that almost all the redheads in North
- 11:26Speaker 6: America winter and Laguna Madre?
- 11:28Speaker 1: I did not know that. Okay, it's a lot of
- 11:31Speaker 1: redheads to put that.
- 11:32Speaker 5: Canvasback was my number two guests, but I couldn't picture
- 11:35Speaker 5: what any of them looked like.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I believe there is a US Fish and Wildlife Service
- 11:40Speaker 1: poster in our kitchen where the judges sit that says,
- 11:43Speaker 1: here's how, here's how to identify between a canvas back
- 11:46Speaker 1: and a redhead.
- 11:48Speaker 2: There is so nice little bone.
- 11:51Speaker 6: What's the nickname for kings?
- 11:53Speaker 1: Is it king canvas?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Oh?
- 11:54Speaker 1: Here is our picture? Now do you know the difference? Brody?
- 11:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask you first which one is which?
- 12:00Speaker 6: I think that's a redhead on the left of.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Canas final answer, I think so you got it again,
- 12:06Speaker 1: a redhead on the left, a canvas back on the right.
- 12:09Speaker 1: But ever shot either in flight, they look pretty dang similar.
- 12:13Speaker 2: All right.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Question two The topic is fishing. This outdoor apparel brand
- 12:19Speaker 1: introduced their Performance Fishing Gear or PFG for short in
- 12:23Speaker 1: nineteen ninety six. Oh I need a new mark, Randall,
- 12:31Speaker 1: can you serve? I think this one's lucky. I'm gonna
- 12:34Speaker 1: stick with them. Okay, you're gonna throw it though in
- 12:36Speaker 1: the garbage after the marker role. Wow, that was impressive.
- 12:40Speaker 5: I thought i'd get more compliments than just Spencer's based
- 12:44Speaker 5: on how good that role was.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Still not they Still.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Everybody's still considering how that stacks up against other marker
- 12:52Speaker 5: throws they've seen. I got it.
- 12:54Speaker 1: This outdoor apparel brand introduced their Performance Fishing Gear FG.
- 13:00Speaker 6: Of course, you know if you started pumping ironta, your
- 13:03Speaker 6: tattoo would get bigger.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Oh there you go.
- 13:06Speaker 2: No, I didn't know that.
- 13:07Speaker 5: The past prime You think about it sounds like a
- 13:11Speaker 5: waste of time.
- 13:12Speaker 2: Turn it from a three twenty into three six?
- 13:15Speaker 1: Yeah, boon. This outdoor apparel brand introduced their Performance Fishing
- 13:19Speaker 1: Gear or PFG for short in nineteen ninety six. Is
- 13:22Speaker 1: everybody ready go ahead and reveal your answers? Giannis says Colombia.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Jordis Jordans says, yeah, Randall. Maggie Seth Corey and Brody
- 13:36Speaker 1: say Columbia, they got it. The correct answer is Jordan, Colombia.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Columbia made their first fishing vest in nineteen sixty one.
- 13:44Speaker 1: It was created by founder Gert Boyle, who said her
- 13:47Speaker 1: husband requested a multi pocketed fishing shirt. Today, Columbia designs
- 13:51Speaker 1: their PFG line of clothes to go quote from the
- 13:54Speaker 1: boat to the bar. Question three. The topic is natural history.
- 13:58Speaker 1: This next great question mus be a Colton Taylor. The
- 14:02Speaker 1: idit a rod trail sled dog race has a ceremonial
- 14:06Speaker 1: start in blank and official start the next day in Willow.
- 14:13Speaker 5: I would have preferred that you asked where the official
- 14:15Speaker 5: start was.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Nobody would have got that one right.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I would.
- 14:20Speaker 1: The idit a rod trail sled dog race has a
- 14:24Speaker 1: ceremonial start in blank and official start the next day
- 14:29Speaker 1: in Willow.
- 14:30Speaker 4: When your having issues, most of the time, it's not
- 14:32Speaker 4: a marker issue. It's because the board is not clean.
- 14:35Speaker 1: How I clean with a crappy eraser?
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:39Speaker 4: Yeah, you want to get a little spring that has
- 14:42Speaker 4: actual dry race.
- 14:43Speaker 5: Do you look this up for you been hiding this
- 14:45Speaker 5: information for years.
- 14:47Speaker 4: I've been hiding it for years. I haven't news to me.
- 14:51Speaker 1: The idea. A rod trail sled dog race has a
- 14:53Speaker 1: ceremonial start in blank, official start the next day in Willow.
- 14:58Speaker 1: How's the new marker working, Brodie? Is it a marker
- 15:00Speaker 1: problem or a whiteboard problem?
- 15:02Speaker 2: I haven't decided.
- 15:03Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, need another marker toss.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I'll try to black one next, Giannis, do you have
- 15:10Speaker 1: an answer yet?
- 15:11Speaker 4: Not yet?
- 15:12Speaker 1: Okay?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Is everybody waiting on me?
- 15:14Speaker 1: The rest of the whiteboards are down?
- 15:15Speaker 6: Wait a minute, okay, no, no, okay.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Brody had second thoughts, and then he had third, third thoughts.
- 15:26Speaker 6: I'm waffling on start and finished side of.
- 15:28Speaker 1: His first thought was better. Yanna you ready? Yeah, go
- 15:32Speaker 1: ahead and reveal your answers. Jordan and Randall saying anchorage.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Maggie says Juno, Seth, Fairbanks, Cordy Gnome, Brody Nome back
- 15:46Speaker 1: in the game. The correct answer is anchorage. Other side
- 15:51Speaker 1: of the room got it right to this side of
- 15:53Speaker 1: the room, did not. The trail ends in No, Alaska,
- 15:57Speaker 1: which is nine hundred and thirty eight miles long along
- 16:01Speaker 1: the race. Although the race has only been going on
- 16:03Speaker 1: since nineteen seventy three, it follows trails that humans have
- 16:07Speaker 1: been using for thousands of years. The record time was
- 16:10Speaker 1: set in twenty twenty one when Dallas Cevie finished the
- 16:13Speaker 1: race in seven days, fourteen hours, eight minutes, and fifty
- 16:17Speaker 1: seven seconds. Question four, The topic is cooking. Regional names
- 16:23Speaker 1: for this dish include taverns, wimpies, spoon burgers, steamers, and barbecue.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Who barbecues? Randal the only player with an answer. Regional
- 16:38Speaker 1: names for this dish include taverns, wimpies, spoon burgers, steamers,
- 16:44Speaker 1: and barbecue.
- 16:45Speaker 2: I think you should tell us how like detailed The
- 16:50Speaker 2: answer has to be I give one of your examples
- 16:53Speaker 2: of like.
- 16:53Speaker 1: If it's the answer, I'm not going to do that
- 16:56Speaker 1: for the Z is just really an acceptable answered, and
- 17:01Speaker 1: then everything else would not be accepted. Regional names for
- 17:05Speaker 1: this dish include taverns, wimpies, spoon burgers, steamers, and barbecue.
- 17:12Speaker 1: This is question or Randall?
- 17:15Speaker 4: Do you know this?
- 17:16Speaker 1: No? This? I have a pretty good idea. Okay, you
- 17:19Speaker 1: didn't ask me how I know Willow is? Tell me
- 17:22Speaker 1: how you know Willow? Randal. I'd love to know.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Uh, well, because where we used to take our boats,
- 17:29Speaker 5: uh and when I was working in Alaska. It's like
- 17:32Speaker 5: the start of the Iditarod trail and it froze over.
- 17:35Speaker 5: So Willow's very near Deshka Landing where we put our
- 17:37Speaker 5: boats in.
- 17:38Speaker 1: How big of a town is Willow?
- 17:40Speaker 5: I don't know it's it's quite small. But uh, when
- 17:44Speaker 5: I went up there one year in March, the Iditarod
- 17:48Speaker 5: had just gone through, So to get to the lodge,
- 17:50Speaker 5: I just followed the Iditrod trails snowmobile. There you get
- 17:53Speaker 5: used to find dog booties. They have like all these
- 17:55Speaker 5: little felt dog booties, and you found them in the river.
- 17:58Speaker 1: You're familiar with a bar in Willow? Did you introduce
- 18:02Speaker 1: yourself there?
- 18:03Speaker 5: God, there's a place that I thinking of, but I
- 18:07Speaker 5: don't know if it's actually in Willow.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Gang question for the top is cooking. Regional names for
- 18:12Speaker 1: this dish include taverns, wimpies, spoon burgers, steamers, and barbecue.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Is everybody ready, Jordan, go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 18:25Speaker 1: We have Giannis saying clams, Jordan says sliders, Randalls sliders,
- 18:31Speaker 1: Maggie hot Dog, Seth, Sloppy Joe, Cory hot Dog, Brody sliders.
- 18:38Speaker 1: The correct answer is sloppy Joe that. Other names include
- 18:47Speaker 1: man witch yum yums made rights and slushburgers. Heinz Ketchup
- 18:52Speaker 1: claims that the meal was created by a Sioux City,
- 18:55Speaker 1: Iowa man that was named Joe who liked adding tomato
- 18:58Speaker 1: sauce to his loose meat sandwiches. Danielle Pruin has a
- 19:02Speaker 1: delicious venison sloppy Joe recipe on the medeater dot com.
- 19:05Speaker 1: It's the only sloppy Joe recipe I will use.
- 19:09Speaker 2: It is good. I use it all the time, very good.
- 19:11Speaker 1: It's not too wet, like I feel like some sloppy
- 19:13Speaker 1: Joe's are really sloppy.
- 19:16Speaker 3: Where do they call them barbecue?
- 19:19Speaker 1: I had heard that that was one that was familiar
- 19:22Speaker 1: to me. I think in like northeastern South Dakota called
- 19:25Speaker 1: them barbecues. Now where I grew up in southeastern South Dakota, tavern.
- 19:28Speaker 1: What about you guys? Were you coming?
- 19:30Speaker 2: If you would have said man, which I would have got,
- 19:32Speaker 2: it would.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Have been too easy.
- 19:35Speaker 4: Barbacue.
- 19:37Speaker 1: In Pennsylvania, I was castle.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I've only ever heard sloppy Joe's.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I canber how about up in.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Other stuff? And you came up with the old sloppy Jose.
- 19:52Speaker 6: Deer meat on taco sauce sloppy.
- 19:55Speaker 5: That would included me in actually if it included that
- 19:57Speaker 5: regional variation.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Question five, the topic is.
- 20:05Speaker 1: This seven letter word is defined as quote, the spiral
- 20:09Speaker 1: grooves inside the barrel of a gun that caused the
- 20:13Speaker 1: bullet to spin, the seven letter words, Jordan, the spy
- 20:22Speaker 1: barrel that caused the bullet to spin.
- 20:28Speaker 2: For the life of me, and my brain's not working.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Oh you get it. Just we'll talk for a while.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I want you to get it.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I know what you're thinking of. I bet, I bet,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I know what you're thinking.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I know I'm thinking of a very similar word. This
- 20:40Speaker 2: is the right one.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Jordan and Randall and Seth and Brodie, they all seem
- 20:45Speaker 1: to know it. I've read this word so many times.
- 20:48Speaker 1: You have Corey, Maggie and Yannis. They're struggling though. This
- 20:55Speaker 1: seven letter word is defined as the spiders inside the
- 21:00Speaker 1: barrel of a gun that caused the bullet to spin.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Laughing on my answer, yeah yet.
- 21:14Speaker 6: First he made me laugh.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I know that's not the answer, but he's just testing you, guys.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Twisted steel and Randall's having second thoughts. He had to click.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Come honest, we gave you some time. Oh yeah, all right,
- 21:32Speaker 2: I got, I got the right.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Gave up, Maggie.
- 21:37Speaker 6: It's not right, but I got.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. You're honest and Jordan's
- 21:42Speaker 1: and Randall say rifling, Maggie says fluting, Seth rifling. Without
- 21:48Speaker 1: an answer on rifling, the correct answer is rifling.
- 21:54Speaker 2: My brain was farting that one. This wasn't happening.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Rifling is found in most rifles, pistols, and muzzleoders, and
- 22:03Speaker 1: some shotguns. These subtle grooves make the bullet spin, which
- 22:07Speaker 1: increases range and accuracy. The University of Alaska says the
- 22:11Speaker 1: best way to visualize this is a thrown football, which
- 22:14Speaker 1: will travel further and be more accurate when released with
- 22:17Speaker 1: a tight spiral. All right, we're halfway through the game
- 22:20Speaker 1: of trivia. Phil, give us a scoreboard update.
- 22:22Speaker 4: At halftime, Gotten, Maggie and Corey with.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Two points, Jesus.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Jordan, Randall, and Brody are all tied up with three
- 22:31Speaker 4: and then in first place tied up with four points
- 22:34Speaker 4: are Giannis Pitelis and Seth Morris.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Seth. Seth has a victory this summer. Right, yeah, Okay.
- 22:40Speaker 2: And I lost to Brody one time in over time.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Do you have a legit victory or it was Abron episode.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I think you might have whooped your butt that game.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Really, I'm just asking it matters.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Question six. The topic is wild Well. If this is
- 23:00Speaker 1: our listener question of the week, which was won by
- 23:03Speaker 1: Mario Viller for sending this great question, Mario is going
- 23:06Speaker 1: to get a board game signed by the crew. If
- 23:08Speaker 1: you want a chance to win the listener Question of
- 23:10Speaker 1: the Week, then send your question to Trivia at the
- 23:12Speaker 1: medeater dot com. According to twenty twenty two data, this
- 23:16Speaker 1: insect is the most popular animal tattoo in America. According
- 23:27Speaker 1: to twenty twenty two data, this insect is the most
- 23:30Speaker 1: popular animal tattoo in America. Brody very quick to answer.
- 23:37Speaker 5: To the mosquito, cicada, tick cockroach.
- 23:44Speaker 1: According to twenty twenty two data, this insect is the
- 23:46Speaker 1: most popular animal tattoo in America. I have the top
- 23:51Speaker 1: fifteen list in front of me, so be thinking about
- 23:54Speaker 1: what other animals may be popular tattoos.
- 23:57Speaker 2: Do you think you want to say?
- 23:59Speaker 6: What I'm sack on your body.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Is not going to give you any hints you don't
- 24:03Speaker 1: have it, or studying my arm hoping for the clue.
- 24:07Speaker 6: Insect tattoos According to Sleeve Shirt for a reason, Man,
- 24:13Speaker 6: this insect is the most popular animal tattoo in America.
- 24:18Speaker 6: Handler bug, you know what we saw all over? Oh
- 24:26Speaker 6: they're everywhere, stepping on them, smacking them, killing them. Are
- 24:31Speaker 6: those natives the one you're supposed to see if you kill.
- 24:38Speaker 1: And see if you kill both?
- 24:40Speaker 2: You guys had your hands full.
- 24:43Speaker 1: All over the place. Man, They skipped the game just
- 24:45Speaker 1: to go squish them. According to twenty twenty two data,
- 24:49Speaker 1: this insect is the most popular animal tattoo in America.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Is everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers? We
- 24:57Speaker 1: have honest saying black widow word in butterfly, Randall butterfly,
- 25:02Speaker 1: Maggie moth Seth, and Corey and Brody say butterfly. The
- 25:07Speaker 1: correct answer is butterfly.
- 25:10Speaker 6: Honest. I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't
- 25:12Speaker 6: point out that black widows.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I know, I know. I thought it would slip in somehow.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Spencer wouldn't like This data was gathered by twenty four
- 25:24Speaker 1: to seven Wall Street. According to them, butterflies are the
- 25:27Speaker 1: most popular animal tattoo in America. That's followed by let's
- 25:31Speaker 1: take some guesses. What else do you think? Not exclusive
- 25:35Speaker 1: to insects, just saying rose, no animals not exclusive to insects.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Let's crucifix.
- 25:46Speaker 2: There you go.
- 25:47Speaker 1: That is number four.
- 25:51Speaker 2: About tiger.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Tiger that's on the list. That's right. Uh, Tiger, I
- 25:55Speaker 1: believe is number ten is on the list. No white
- 26:01Speaker 1: tailed deer, no lion, lions. Lions is just ahead of
- 26:06Speaker 1: wolves at number three, So we're still missing number two. Leopard,
- 26:13Speaker 1: No leopard, No dog. Dog is on there. Dog comes
- 26:16Speaker 1: in at thirteen or anything else. Cats is on the list,
- 26:22Speaker 1: Bear is on the list. Shark is on the list
- 26:26Speaker 1: at fifteen. The other ones on the list, we have snakes, lions, wolves, elephants, hummingbirds, owls, tigers, cats, bees, eagles, spiders, dogs, bears,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and sharks. What was two snakes? Snakes. I do not
- 26:45Speaker 1: have a butterfly tattoo. My wife does, and when I
- 26:48Speaker 1: asked her this question, she said butterfly immediately because she's
- 26:51Speaker 1: thinking about getting a second.
- 26:53Speaker 2: I think, oh, there you go.
- 26:55Speaker 5: There's a pretty strong overlap between that list and the
- 26:59Speaker 5: list of like the most generic fifteen animals you'd find
- 27:01Speaker 5: the kid's coloring book.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I think you're right about it. Yeah, there's something as
- 27:04Speaker 1: far as animals I have. I've got a dog here,
- 27:08Speaker 1: some mallards, a dinosaur, a cryptid, a white tailed deer,
- 27:12Speaker 1: a paddlefish. I've got a hams bear, a sucker, a squirrel,
- 27:17Speaker 1: and a coyote track. There you go.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I wonder if you could get the data on the
- 27:22Speaker 2: placement on the body lower and I think there'd be
- 27:25Speaker 2: very Can you tell us where Shelby's butterfly is her
- 27:29Speaker 2: butterfly is on? Okay?
- 27:33Speaker 6: I also think there'd be a very clear like men women, Yes, yeah.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I imagine with all of these it would be that way.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Snakes I could see being fairly split. Lions that seems
- 27:44Speaker 1: more masculine, wolves more masculine. Elephants probably split.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Sure.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Here's question seven. The topic is cooking. Yeah, elephants, for sure.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I'm open to an argument.
- 27:55Speaker 1: What do you think is that more masculine or feminine? Text?
- 27:58Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know.
- 28:00Speaker 5: It's just sort of an animal that I haven't really
- 28:02Speaker 5: thought about gendering.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Question seven, cooking, George Clooney declare declines a skewered rodent
- 28:15Speaker 1: and says, quote a third of a gopher would only
- 28:17Speaker 1: rouse my appetite without betting her back down. In this
- 28:21Speaker 1: two thousand.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Film, Oh, such a good movie.
- 28:25Speaker 1: There's a little hint Brody loves this movie. George Clooney
- 28:29Speaker 1: declines a skewered rodent and says a third of a
- 28:33Speaker 1: gopher would only rouse my appetite without betting her back down.
- 28:38Speaker 1: In this two thousand film good, I want to say, Okay,
- 28:44Speaker 1: Brody likes this movie. Randal already has his answer. Not
- 28:48Speaker 1: my strong suit here answer cooking movies? Which one? George
- 28:53Speaker 1: Clooney movies?
- 28:55Speaker 5: The Year's thrown me off?
- 28:57Speaker 1: George Clooney declines a skewered road and says a third
- 29:01Speaker 1: of a gopher would only rouse my appetite without betting
- 29:04Speaker 1: her back down. In this two thousand film, Phil, what
- 29:07Speaker 1: your was Batman Forever?
- 29:11Speaker 6: Question?
- 29:12Speaker 2: I don't know if I can name it.
- 29:13Speaker 6: George, I'm not gonna question.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I can name it one.
- 29:16Speaker 2: This is like the one that I can name.
- 29:19Speaker 1: You had this one, right man?
- 29:20Speaker 4: Peace Maker?
- 29:21Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Okay, this is like Phil will give us a review
- 29:26Speaker 1: after this, since he seemed to have a strong take
- 29:28Speaker 1: over there.
- 29:28Speaker 4: Oh no, no, just my reaction was to people saying
- 29:31Speaker 4: they couldn't name a George Clooney.
- 29:33Speaker 1: No, I can name this one. This is one I
- 29:36Speaker 1: really like. I know e R so I put this
- 29:39Speaker 1: one down.
- 29:39Speaker 5: I already named one Batman forever.
- 29:41Speaker 6: I'll give you a hint. It's not Ocean's eleven, Okay,
- 29:46Speaker 6: I mean.
- 29:51Speaker 4: I know, I think that was eleven two thousand and one.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Twelve, actually totally off.
- 29:58Speaker 1: George declines a.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Skeward row no no notice the fact that people have
- 30:03Speaker 2: space in their brain to know that a movie from
- 30:06Speaker 2: George Clooney came out and it's amazing, And.
- 30:10Speaker 1: He says a third of a gopher would only rouse
- 30:12Speaker 1: my appetite without bedding her back down. It's everybody ready,
- 30:16Speaker 1: go ahead and reveal your answers. Giannis without an answer,
- 30:20Speaker 1: Jordan says Ocean's eleven, Randall, Oh brother, where art thou? Maggie,
- 30:25Speaker 1: Oh brother, where art thou?
- 30:27Speaker 2: Seth?
- 30:27Speaker 1: Without an answer, Corey and Brody say, oh brother, where
- 30:31Speaker 1: art thou? They got it? The correct answer is, oh brother,
- 30:34Speaker 1: where art thou? The Cohen Brothers film follows three escaped
- 30:39Speaker 1: convicts who search for treasure in rural Mississippi in nineteen
- 30:43Speaker 1: thirty seven. In that scene, Delmar is cooking a gopher
- 30:46Speaker 1: over a campfire and says they got it after coming
- 30:49Speaker 1: across a whole village of them. Later in the film,
- 30:52Speaker 1: Clooney tells a hitchhiker to keep his fingers away from
- 30:54Speaker 1: Pete's mouth because all he's had to eat in the
- 30:57Speaker 1: last thirteen years is prison food offer in a little
- 31:01Speaker 1: greasy horse, Phil Old brother where art.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Thal Uh not not my favorite Cohen Brothers. It's a
- 31:09Speaker 4: little kind of like outside their normal thing, but it's
- 31:11Speaker 4: a lot of fun because outside oh yeah.
- 31:17Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, just like uh Eastbounding Down. Conceptually, yeah, east
- 31:25Speaker 5: Bounding Down is a play on the audience.
- 31:26Speaker 1: I mean, you could say anything. This show is loosely
- 31:29Speaker 1: based on the New Test.
- 31:30Speaker 5: So it's a man finding his way back and he
- 31:32Speaker 5: keeps getting deterred along the way. Questions season was going
- 31:37Speaker 5: to be another sort of loop in that journey.
- 31:40Speaker 1: The topic is fishing. This next great question is via
- 31:44Speaker 1: Brendan The Main Department of Marine Resources says this type
- 31:49Speaker 1: of hook quote will set itself usually in the corner
- 31:53Speaker 1: of the mouth and reduces gut cooked fish.
- 31:57Speaker 5: You guys act like you've never read an interview with
- 31:59Speaker 5: Jody Hill, the creator east Bound It Down.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I don't know who that is.
- 32:05Speaker 1: That ship, the Main Department of Marine Resources says, this
- 32:11Speaker 1: type of hook will set itself, usually in the corner
- 32:14Speaker 1: of the mouth, and reduce his gut hooked fish or not.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Seth is watching Corey write his answer, trying not to
- 32:25Speaker 1: have a tell as to whether or not it's right. Okay,
- 32:31Speaker 1: I'm just kidding me. I can't tell if that was
- 32:36Speaker 1: an actual hint or not. And I kind of like that, Seth,
- 32:39Speaker 1: it wasn't. The main department of that says this type
- 32:47Speaker 1: of hook quote will set itself, usually in the corner
- 32:50Speaker 1: of the mouth and reduces gut hooked fish.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Keep trying. I thought you had a little more depth fishing.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Guys, don't have time to a rainbow trout.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Don't eat it. That's not a good excuse.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Is everybody ready? Dan like your answer?
- 33:16Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 33:16Speaker 3: I think it's one of the only hooks I can
- 33:18Speaker 3: think of.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Giannis and
- 33:22Speaker 1: Jordan and Randall and Maggie and Seth and Corey and
- 33:26Speaker 1: Brody saying circle hook. They got it. The correct answer
- 33:30Speaker 1: is circle hook. What else did he have over their?
- 33:32Speaker 5: Seth mustag octopus Aberdeen.
- 33:39Speaker 1: A circle hook has a point that's aimed at the
- 33:41Speaker 1: shaft of the hook as opposed to a jay hook,
- 33:44Speaker 1: which has a point that's aimed parallel to the shaft.
- 33:47Speaker 1: This design usually prevents a fish from swallowing the hook.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Studies in Massachusetts and Maryland show that circle hooks significantly
- 33:54Speaker 1: reduce catch and release mortality for striped bass. I had
- 33:59Speaker 1: jay hook for I'm glad I changed. Good thing you did.
- 34:02Speaker 1: All right, Phill, Let's get a scoreboard update. With two
- 34:04Speaker 1: questions left.
- 34:05Speaker 4: Let's see everyone is. Maggie has four points, Giannis, Jordan
- 34:13Speaker 4: and Corey are tied up with five, and Randall, Brody
- 34:15Speaker 4: and Seth are tied up with six.
- 34:17Speaker 6: Wow.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Question nine the topic is gear. This next great question
- 34:23Speaker 1: is via Ben you were white Flyer, which is the
- 34:27Speaker 1: largest manufacturer of these labels. Each box quote fragile as eggs.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Randall and Brody already have their answer. White Flyer, which
- 34:40Speaker 1: is the largest manufacturer of these labels. Each box fragile
- 34:44Speaker 1: as eggs. This is gear.
- 34:50Speaker 4: The hint you were hoping I should do some work
- 34:52Speaker 4: for the family that owns white Flyer.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Oh kind of work, yeah, enforcement.
- 35:02Speaker 2: The product.
- 35:04Speaker 1: White Flyer, which is the largest manufacturer of these labels.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Each box fragile as eggs.
- 35:11Speaker 4: Y Jordan's No, I'm.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Not going to go to them.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Don't go with the questions.
- 35:19Speaker 4: Just wh.
- 35:23Speaker 1: Seth used to do some work for them. If you
- 35:25Speaker 1: didn't know.
- 35:27Speaker 2: That, help you.
- 35:30Speaker 1: White Flying the largest manufacturer of these labels each box,
- 35:36Speaker 1: fragile as you gotta let the fives just settle into
- 35:39Speaker 1: the chaff. I don't know any of the scores because
- 35:42Speaker 1: I'm out. Jordan's has been inspired the wrong category of
- 35:51Speaker 1: th mm hmmt. The topic is gear Yanni.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I'm writing something.
- 36:00Speaker 1: And when he's done, we will flip writing.
- 36:05Speaker 4: It's a great answer.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Long. His marker is not touching the whiteboard. White Flyer,
- 36:12Speaker 1: which is the largest MANUFA labels each box Bradile's eggs. Uh.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Corey got a hearty laugh, and.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Now he's racing one.
- 36:29Speaker 6: I was missing having Max next to me for entertainment.
- 36:32Speaker 1: But corn yeah, whatever, you give up, go ahead and
- 36:39Speaker 1: reveal your answers. Yanni says plastic bobbers, and Randall and
- 36:47Speaker 1: Maggie and Seth say clay pigeons. Corey without an answer,
- 36:51Speaker 1: Brody clay pigeons. The correct answer is clay pigeons.
- 36:54Speaker 6: I'm sorry for laughing at you, Corey, but lightbulbs.
- 37:01Speaker 4: That's pretty good.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Clay pigeon shooting replaced glass ball shooting, and glass ball
- 37:08Speaker 1: shooting replaced live pigeon shooting. Part of this skeet shooting
- 37:12Speaker 1: revolution was thanks to Britain outlawing the ownership of live pigeons.
- 37:16Speaker 1: They feared that spies would use the birds to carry
- 37:19Speaker 1: messages to rival armies. As one British commander said in
- 37:22Speaker 1: nineteen fourteen quote, an alien enemy with a racing pigeon
- 37:26Speaker 1: is far more dangerous than one with a live bomb.
- 37:29Speaker 1: All right, Philllet's get one more scoreboard update before question ten.
- 37:32Speaker 4: Interesting, this is Randall, Brody and Seth going into the
- 37:38Speaker 4: last question was seven points, but right behind them as
- 37:41Speaker 4: Jordan Sillers is six.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Here's a correct answer. Review so far one was canvas

- 38:05Speaker 1: How many golf coast states have a national park? How
- 38:11Speaker 1: many golf coast states have a national park? We have
- 38:19Speaker 1: four players left in the game. Brody, Seth and Randall
- 38:25Speaker 1: have seven points. Jordan is right behind them with six.
- 38:30Speaker 4: That's a good question, Spencer.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Thank you Phil. How many golf coast states have a
- 38:36Speaker 1: national park?
- 38:41Speaker 2: This is the bone for the guy who's from a
- 38:43Speaker 2: golf coast state.
- 38:44Speaker 1: I don't know he's a Canadian.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Probably not, yeah, probably not.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I'm just trying to remember what they all are.
- 38:52Speaker 1: How many golf coast states have a national park?
- 38:56Speaker 2: Randal?
- 38:57Speaker 1: Do you have this one right? I think so? Okay,
- 39:03Speaker 1: that's a good question. It's fun, thank you.
- 39:05Speaker 2: I just guess it's it's pure guess, which is a bummer.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Brody's still thinking.
- 39:12Speaker 2: It's not twenty.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Brody. We're not waiting on you just one day.
- 39:23Speaker 2: How you do it?

- 39:30Speaker 1: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Giannis saying
- 39:34Speaker 1: to Jordan, says five, Randall two, Maggie three, Seth three,
- 39:42Speaker 1: Corey two, Brody two. The correct answer is two. Brody
- 39:50Speaker 1: and Randall got that one right, meaning they are going
- 39:54Speaker 1: to over.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You don't even mentions. Got it right? Corey got it right?
- 40:00Speaker 1: Well done? You too, not gonna be good enough to
- 40:03Speaker 1: participate in overtime? Well, everybody participates right, I just can't
- 40:07Speaker 1: win those two states the highest.
- 40:11Speaker 6: Scoring total scoring game ever.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Thoughbody did well. Those two states are Texas and Florida.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Texas is home to Big Bend and Guadaloupe Mountains. In
- 40:21Speaker 1: Florida is home to Everglades, Biscayne and Dry Tortugas. Louisiana, Mississippi,
- 40:26Speaker 1: and Alabama do not have a national park.
- 40:29Speaker 2: So have you been to a national park in Louisiana?
- 40:33Speaker 1: No, it was a poor guest.
- 40:36Speaker 2: He's from Canada. Yacht He's quit rubbing it in.
- 40:40Speaker 1: All right, Phil, play the drop.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Tiebreaker, Dude. When I hear that, I feel like if
- 40:50Speaker 2: you lose, like they're gonna chop your arm off or something,
- 40:53Speaker 2: pull your eyeball off.
- 40:54Speaker 1: We're saving them for twenty twenty six.
- 40:56Speaker 2: All right.
- 40:57Speaker 1: For the overtime question, it will be a new mayor question.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Whoever is closest between Randall and Brody will be declared
- 41:04Speaker 1: the winner. But everyone in the room will play along
- 41:06Speaker 1: because if somebody gets it right on the nose, then
- 41:09Speaker 1: we will add an extra one hundred dollars to today's donation.
- 41:13Speaker 1: The tie breaking topic is conservation. What number president was
- 41:17Speaker 1: Teddy Roosevelt? This is just like you wrote the question
- 41:23Speaker 1: for Randall. I promise that I did not. I don't
- 41:27Speaker 1: know that that's true.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Randall's been chirping as you haven't won it a lone time.
- 41:30Speaker 6: I mean, come on, you know Randall's going to be
- 41:33Speaker 6: in a tiebreaker.
- 41:34Speaker 1: He almost wasn't What number president was? Teddy Roosevelt? Corey's
- 41:43Speaker 1: declared a pretty good guest.
- 41:47Speaker 4: Trump boughten Trump, That's all I got?
- 41:53Speaker 1: What number president?
- 41:55Speaker 2: A couple of two Bushes?
- 41:56Speaker 6: Obama was Teddy?
- 42:04Speaker 1: Yanni? Do you like your answer? No? Do you think
- 42:06Speaker 1: you're within tenabe?
- 42:09Speaker 2: No? I don't know.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Are you listing all the presidents?
- 42:16Speaker 5: Randal?
- 42:17Speaker 1: Just backwards? I don't mean Corey and Seth are consulting
- 42:23Speaker 1: each other about if their numbers should be higher or lower?
- 42:26Speaker 1: You what are you boys thinking over there?
- 42:28Speaker 2: You guys are right around where I'm at. Okay, all right,
- 42:32Speaker 2: I'm checked out, Spencer, I'm checked out, Budd.
- 42:35Speaker 4: The only test I ever cheated on, I think it's right, though,
- 42:38Speaker 4: I don't think the only test they ever cheated on
- 42:40Speaker 4: in high school was we had to list all the
- 42:42Speaker 4: presidents in order, how many terms they served, and what
- 42:45Speaker 4: their presidential party was. And I was I'm not putting
- 42:48Speaker 4: in the work to do.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Okay, so would you get this one writer or no?
- 42:51Speaker 2: No?
- 42:52Speaker 1: How did you cheat?
- 42:54Speaker 4: I texted by a self the answer, you know, and
- 42:57Speaker 4: I was sneaking my cell phone and taking a little
- 42:59Speaker 4: cool peaxies.
- 43:01Speaker 1: What number president was? Teddy Roosevelt. Randall's still making his list.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Apologies to mister Asher.
- 43:09Speaker 2: You know, but Bosman High we just heard is going
- 43:12Speaker 2: cell phone free in twenty seven, meaning a B. I
- 43:16Speaker 2: don't know if we have the exact details, but yeah,
- 43:20Speaker 2: I'm all for it, me too.
- 43:23Speaker 1: How do you how do you enforce it? What do you?
- 43:25Speaker 2: I mean? I think if a phone is I would
- 43:27Speaker 2: of hope that if a phone is seen that it's confiscated.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Wonder if it brody?
- 43:34Speaker 1: How do you like your answer?
- 43:35Speaker 6: I mean, I feel like I'm in the ballpark's simple
- 43:38Speaker 6: math to do, like the ballpark stuff.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Randall still making your list? Yeah, but what what president
- 43:45Speaker 1: are you on? Can you tell us?
- 43:46Speaker 5: No?
- 43:47Speaker 2: The thing is?
- 43:48Speaker 5: The thing is I The last time I did this,
- 43:52Speaker 5: you forgot someone, I got someone mixed up, And so
- 43:57Speaker 5: right off the bat, I'm falling apart.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Maybe overthinks I feel pretty good though, I'm fine with
- 44:02Speaker 1: everybody ready Two Hello, everybody ready, go ahead and reveal
- 44:07Speaker 1: your answers. We have Ya saying thirty seven, Jordan thirty six,
- 44:12Speaker 1: Maggie twenty three, Seth twenty four, Corey twenty seven. Our
- 44:18Speaker 1: two players left. We have Brody sang twenty three, Randall
- 44:22Speaker 1: saying twenty nine. The correct answer is twenty six, meaning
- 44:30Speaker 1: we're going to a second all the time, because Randall
- 44:33Speaker 1: and Brody were both three off from Randa and the
- 44:39Speaker 1: closest Corey, who had twenty seven. Roosevelt served as the
- 44:45Speaker 1: twenty sixth president from nineteen oh one to nineteen oh nine.
- 44:49Speaker 1: He took office after the assassination of who do you know,
- 44:53Speaker 1: Grover McKinley. McKinley, that's right, who Roosevelt was the VP for.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Teddy was forty two years old when sworn in, making
- 45:01Speaker 1: him the youngest president ever in almost half the age
- 45:04Speaker 1: of our last two presidents.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Oh, I wish we could bring him back to life.
- 45:08Speaker 6: Are they also like?
- 45:11Speaker 5: No consecutive?
- 45:13Speaker 1: That's how Trump got forty five and forty seven? All right, Phil,
- 45:17Speaker 1: do you have the second question?
- 45:19Speaker 4: I am loading it right now.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Okay, this is only the second time ever that we
- 45:22Speaker 1: have gone to a double overtime.
- 45:24Speaker 6: Got another history question keyed up for Randall.
- 45:27Speaker 1: The second overtime topic is cooking. According to Indeed, what
- 45:34Speaker 1: is the average hourly pay for a butcher in twenty
- 45:38Speaker 1: twenty five? According to Indeed, what is the average hourly
- 45:46Speaker 1: pay for a butcher in twenty twenty five? We'll have
- 45:49Speaker 1: you go to dollars and cents here just so we
- 45:52Speaker 1: don't have to go to a third overtime today.
- 45:56Speaker 5: But this is tough. I've never thought about this. I'm
- 46:01Speaker 5: just gonna guess a wage.
- 46:02Speaker 1: According to Indeed, what is the average hourly pay? Again,
- 46:07Speaker 1: hourly pay is what we're looking for. State salary, not salary,
- 46:11Speaker 1: butcher's salary for a butcher in twenty twenty five? Has
- 46:17Speaker 1: anyone worked as a butcher in here? Nope? No amateurs,
- 46:23Speaker 1: a bunch of amateur butchers. This is tough. Still down
- 46:30Speaker 1: to just Randal, According to Indeed, what is the average
- 46:38Speaker 1: hourly pay for a butcher in twenty twenty five? Randall,
- 46:42Speaker 1: We're waiting on you. Are you ready?
- 46:44Speaker 2: You are a very warm, uh sweater?
- 46:47Speaker 5: I know, I know it was fine for a little bit.
- 46:50Speaker 1: He didn't anticipate it over to overtime or devil over yeah,
- 46:54Speaker 1: I was ready to get out and vent.
- 46:56Speaker 5: At question ten, everybody over there and reveal your the
- 47:03Speaker 5: big machine. It runs hot.
- 47:05Speaker 1: We have Yannis saying twenty two dollars and fifty cents,
- 47:09Speaker 1: Jordan twenty three dollars and seventy cents, Maggie twenty two
- 47:14Speaker 1: dollars an hour, seth eighteen fifty, set Cordy twenty dollars
- 47:19Speaker 1: an hour, and our two players left. We have Randall
- 47:22Speaker 1: saying fifteen dollars and seventy five cents, and Brody saying
- 47:27Speaker 1: twenty five dollars. The correct answer is nineteen dollars and
- 47:34Speaker 1: eight cents, making Randal our winner. He edged out Brody
- 47:37Speaker 1: by about one dollars.
- 47:39Speaker 5: And I'm glad we're not going to a third overtime
- 47:41Speaker 5: because I think by then I will truly have expired.
- 47:44Speaker 1: His maps would be off stroke. This is looking at
- 47:49Speaker 1: eight hundred and ninety five salaries from job posting since
- 47:52Speaker 1: twenty twenty three. Indeed says that on the low end,
- 47:55Speaker 1: butcher's make fourteen dollars an hour and on the high
- 47:58Speaker 1: end twenty six dollars an hour. The highest paying cities
- 48:01Speaker 1: for butchers are San Francisco, New York City, Nashville and Dallas,
- 48:08Speaker 1: nineteen dollars and eight cents. Randa, what are we doing
- 48:12Speaker 1: with the five hundred dollars today? It was well earned.
- 48:15Speaker 1: Took twelve questions to get there.
- 48:16Speaker 5: Yeah, let's let's send this one to Captains for Clean Water.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Okay. What do we like about them?
- 48:22Speaker 5: It's a great group that works on all kinds of
- 48:24Speaker 5: marine fisheries stuff. I think they do a lot with
- 48:27Speaker 5: the Everglades and it's it's involves charter boat captain's guides.
- 48:33Speaker 1: So they're folks who.
- 48:34Speaker 5: Are on the water every day and know the issues
- 48:37Speaker 5: facing our fisheries better than most.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Five hundred dollars going to Captains Clean Waters. Jorde, Maggie,
- 48:43Speaker 1: thanks for joining us. Thanks for coming to town.
- 48:45Speaker 5: You guys. Yes, thanks.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Spencers joined us next week for more Meat Eater Trivia,
- 48:49Speaker 1: the only game show where conservation always wins.
- 48:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Spencer from South Dakota. He's the host using those smooth,
- 48:57Speaker 1: mellow tones. He lays them questions down, and he likes
- 49:06Speaker 1: taking those two and three year old bucks.
- 49:10Speaker 6: And he's an avid amateur
- 49:14Speaker 1: Rockhow
