- 0:00Speaker 1: When I was six point seven Light FM. Good morning,
- 0:01Speaker 1: It's Jack and Christine. Before we get started. Now I
- 0:04Speaker 1: know producer Kristen went to Disney World. You went to Salem.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I went to the number two vacation spot in the world,
- 0:12Speaker 1: New York City. I was here having a good time.
- 0:15Speaker 1: There you go you staycation was How was your trip?
- 0:19Speaker 2: Oh? It was great? Thank you? How was New York City?
- 0:23Speaker 1: It's it's there. Yeah, no will you guys did so
- 0:26Speaker 1: we did the museum, we walked through the park, We
- 0:29Speaker 1: found a couple of places to have to have eats.
- 0:31Speaker 1: So yeah, it was fun. And that's kod I just
- 0:33Speaker 1: woke up at five to six and walked over here.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Okay, welcome, good morning, good morning. Yeah Salem. It was
- 0:41Speaker 2: a lot of fun. Salem, Massachusetts. I've never been. I
- 0:44Speaker 2: did the Crucibowl when I was like nineteen years old
- 0:47Speaker 2: and have always wanted to go. So really beautiful city,
- 0:51Speaker 2: lots of fun. I did a ghost tour. I had
- 0:54Speaker 2: one of those EMF meters that are good like if
- 0:58Speaker 2: you're near a ghost.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Like a Eiger counter. Is that what we're talking about.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I don't know what that is exactly.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Yeah, that measures isotopes but I'm sure ghosts are much different.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Possibly, I don't know.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I think I remember from from science Oh you retained
- 1:12Speaker 1: more than I did.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But yeah, no, we're looking for ectoplasm or something. I'm
- 1:18Speaker 2: not quite sure. But any mine was going off pretty good,
- 1:20Speaker 2: was it really? There were some spots that it was
- 1:22Speaker 2: going off like crazy, So you know, it was a
- 1:25Speaker 2: lot of fun. Justin.
- 1:26Speaker 1: You didn't aim at at yourself, did you. You weren't
- 1:29Speaker 1: think I'm here.
- 1:31Speaker 2: No, I think I'm actually here in the flesh, at
- 1:33Speaker 2: least it feels like it. Justin from Wicked Ghost Tours?
- 1:38Speaker 2: Was our tour guide on a lot?
- 1:40Speaker 1: Was the room you were in? A haunted room? Was it?
- 1:42Speaker 1: Was that something?
- 1:43Speaker 2: I love the room? So yeah. We stayed at Daniel's
- 1:46Speaker 2: House Inn and it was built in the sixteen hundreds.
- 1:49Speaker 2: We stayed in the Captain's room. Wow, so we had
- 1:51Speaker 2: the biggest, most beautiful.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Bedroom with a canopy.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Not quite because the four poster book. Okay, yeah, yeah,
- 1:58Speaker 2: gorgeous like everything you'd want it to be. But because
- 2:02Speaker 2: the first night that we got there, we went on
- 2:04Speaker 2: a ghost tour and Eric did it for my sake
- 2:07Speaker 2: and wasn't really into it. I think he got really
- 2:10Speaker 2: creeped out, and then he couldn't sleep in the room
- 2:12Speaker 2: and he kept having nightmares. He's like, there's ghosts, there's ghosts.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I'm like, there's nobody in this room with us. It's
- 2:17Speaker 2: just us. It's all up here, it's all in your head,
- 2:22Speaker 2: all right.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Well he's the one who got scared.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Wow. Yeah, no, I was fine.
- 2:26Speaker 1: My wife would have been in the car with a
- 2:28Speaker 1: headline on pointing inward. That's what you would have done.
- 2:30Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
- 2:33Speaker 3: expect next on light at them.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I need to tell you.
- 2:38Speaker 3: Two things, Cobb and Christine's two pretty cool things.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Cool things about the human body. We can smell the
- 2:46Speaker 1: trillion scents. Our teeth are just as strong as the
- 2:49Speaker 1: Great White shark were the only animals that blush. And
- 2:53Speaker 1: check this out. You get a brand new layer of
- 2:56Speaker 1: skin every month. Every month, Well, so why the hell
- 3:02Speaker 1: is it still wrinkly? I knew it should look good
- 3:06Speaker 1: and smooth.
- 3:07Speaker 2: This is why we treat it, baby, Christine, Yeah, mine
- 3:13Speaker 2: is pretty easy. It's almost here, kids. I know we
- 3:16Speaker 2: have another week of August, but I'm telling you pumpkin
- 3:19Speaker 2: spice is looming and Reese's is bringing back their many pumpkins.
- 3:25Speaker 2: They're super super popular. Many pumpkins unwrapped are in stores
- 3:29Speaker 2: right now. Bite sized treats combine peanut, butter cream and chocolate,
- 3:34Speaker 2: and each seven point six ounce bag contains seven servings
- 3:37Speaker 2: of individually unwrapped pieces, and fans swear that it's better
- 3:43Speaker 2: than a regular Reese's peanut butter cup. They love these guys.
- 3:46Speaker 1: I just want sand between my toes for another month.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Hanging there a little longer, that's all I wan.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, Christine more Covey and Christine and the great music
- 3:54Speaker 3: variety you expect next on light at.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Them, Well, I was six points of light I FM.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Good Morning. It is Jack and Christine starting Monday. I
- 4:01Speaker 1: know wedding bands are important, but I don't know whether
- 4:05Speaker 1: I would go through all of this.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Yeah, well we do have a happy ending here.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 2: So, Julie Angelicola was on a commuter train New Jersey Transit.
- 4:16Speaker 2: She took off her wedding band. She's washing her hands
- 4:18Speaker 2: obviously in the bathroom, distracted, wiped off the soap with tissues,
- 4:23Speaker 2: tossed everything into the toilet, hit flush and uh oh.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Her wedding band was in there, so she realized her mistake.
- 4:31Speaker 2: She went to the train conductor. They said, okay, let's
- 4:34Speaker 2: speed things up here before that tank gets any fuller.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So New Jersey Transit rushed the stat yes to the
- 4:43Speaker 2: next stop for maintenance work, and sure enough, after the
- 4:48Speaker 2: crew went through it, pipefitters removed, they opened the toilet
- 4:51Speaker 2: tank and there it was sitting right on the top.
- 4:55Speaker 2: So Julie was bracing herself from.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Here on top of what, top of everything?
- 5:01Speaker 2: They did disinfect us. Okay, So Julie was bracing herself
- 5:04Speaker 2: for bad news. But she got the call from New
- 5:06Speaker 2: Jersey Transit, shocked and thrilled to learn her ring had
- 5:09Speaker 2: been recovered. So again they disinfected the ring, they returned
- 5:13Speaker 2: it to her. She said timing was perfect because she
- 5:16Speaker 2: and her husband were just leaving for vacation, and she
- 5:20Speaker 2: is so so grateful to the conductor and to New
- 5:23Speaker 2: Jersey Transit for taking swift action.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I've looked in there. There's not enough sodium hypochlorite to
- 5:29Speaker 1: clean that thing that I would put it back in
- 5:31Speaker 1: my hand.
- 5:32Speaker 2: The ring must mean a lotch I must.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I wouldn't even I mean, she's washing her hands in there.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I wouldn't even do that, So touch nothing.
- 5:40Speaker 2: You've got to do what you gotta do.
- 5:42Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Next on light at.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Them, I gotta sit down one of six point seven
- 5:49Speaker 1: light a m it's Jack and Christine. Thanks for but
- 5:52Speaker 1: it's on first thing in the morning. It's good day, Christine.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Time to enjoy very next fun.
- 5:58Speaker 2: What do you think focused on the positive?
- 6:00Speaker 1: I think that's great.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I love it. Jack. I think Monday's the perfect day
- 6:04Speaker 2: for this.
- 6:04Speaker 1: It's the toughest day it is.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Psychologists say, look, we are naturally wired to focus on
- 6:09Speaker 2: what's wrong. It's just it's in our wiring, So don't
- 6:12Speaker 2: beat yourself up over it. Savoring the good is a
- 6:16Speaker 2: way of training our brains to notice more happiness in
- 6:18Speaker 2: everyday life. So some small things we can do. Smile
- 6:22Speaker 2: and act happy, even if you're not feeling it, you're
- 6:25Speaker 2: fooling your brain. Your brain's like, oh yeah, my brain's
- 6:29Speaker 2: not okay. Give it a couple more than be present
- 6:33Speaker 2: by consciously focusing on a positive moment. So you want
- 6:37Speaker 2: to notice something great is happening, and really tell yourself,
- 6:40Speaker 2: I'm enjoying this, right now bring the experience into your
- 6:43Speaker 2: awareness and make it more meaningful and memorable. You can
- 6:47Speaker 2: share your good experiences with others. You talk about positive
- 6:51Speaker 2: things that happen that reinforces the positive, the good feelings,
- 6:55Speaker 2: and practice mental time travel by revisiting happy memories or
- 7:00Speaker 2: looking forward to something too.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I love doing that because it makes you feel like,
- 7:04Speaker 1: you know what, I had, that opportunity, I was there,
- 7:06Speaker 1: not like, oh, it's you know, we have to go
- 7:08Speaker 1: home after vacation.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Do you think we're wired for you? Do you think
- 7:12Speaker 1: that's passed down? We've become complainers because our parents complained
- 7:17Speaker 1: about stuff, and we hear other people complain. Are we
- 7:20Speaker 1: wired for that?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Everything I've read and all this show prep and all
- 7:25Speaker 2: the years they were hardwired to focus on the negative.
- 7:28Speaker 2: It's a it's a way of protecting ourselves.
- 7:31Speaker 1: But okay, that makes a lot like if you.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Go back to caveman times, it's like, you know, suss
- 7:36Speaker 2: out the danger and the negativity. But here we are
- 7:39Speaker 2: and we want to focus.
- 7:39Speaker 1: More on animals. Stole my dinner? Well, exactly, terrible, hold
- 7:43Speaker 1: a gross. I try to be wired to be happy.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I know, I mean, I think it's yeah, it's a
- 7:48Speaker 2: it's a nice start.
- 7:49Speaker 1: Basics. Both arms work, both legs work. My I see
- 7:52Speaker 1: you know you got to start gratitude.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yes, more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
- 7:57Speaker 3: you expect next on Light at Them.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Time for headlines and thank you Jack. Well. It's nearly
- 8:03Speaker 2: twenty five years now since the September eleventh attacks, and
- 8:07Speaker 2: there's new genetic genealogy technology that's positively identified the remains
- 8:12Speaker 2: of a victim from the World Trade Center site, first
- 8:15Speaker 2: of its kind in this discovery. The city said it's
- 8:18Speaker 2: a real breakthrough and the woman is identified by her family,
- 8:23Speaker 2: but they would like to keep that information private. Police
- 8:27Speaker 2: investigating another sewer incident where we see video on social
- 8:31Speaker 2: media where there's guys, three of them in overalls and headlamps,
- 8:35Speaker 2: emerging from a manhole cover thirty second Street, Seventh Avenue.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Police are going to look into this for us. No,
- 8:44Speaker 2: it was around four o'clock in the morning. Doesn't look
- 8:47Speaker 2: like they were working. The couple that recently climbed to
- 8:50Speaker 2: the top of the Empire State Building and they got
- 8:52Speaker 2: engaged up there. They got a lot of attention. They
- 8:55Speaker 2: are due in court today. President Trump blaming Canada for
- 8:59Speaker 2: trade tensions between the two countries. This is in a
- 9:02Speaker 2: post on Sunday. The President Roath of Canada wants the
- 9:05Speaker 2: benefits of being a state without being one, adding the
- 9:08Speaker 2: country as charged farmer's massive amounts of tariffs for many,
- 9:11Speaker 2: many years. This comes after US tariffs against a wide
- 9:15Speaker 2: range of Canadian goods went into effect early Saturday after
- 9:18Speaker 2: negotiations from both sides failed to reach an agreement. In sports,
- 9:22Speaker 2: the Mets lost to the White Sox two one. Yankees
- 9:25Speaker 2: beat the Blue Jays eight three. Little League World Series,
- 9:29Speaker 2: Bayonne lost yesterday to Iowa six nothing. They're not done.
- 9:33Speaker 2: They drop down the elimination bracket. They'll play on Tuesday Night,
- 9:36Speaker 2: and Liberty clinching a playoff spot for the sixth consecutive season. Finally,
- 9:42Speaker 2: we're always told never go to bed angry. May sound
- 9:45Speaker 2: like great relationship advice, but the latest is it can
- 9:48Speaker 2: hurt more than it can help. When conflict becomes intense,
- 9:52Speaker 2: your heart rate rises, your body enters fight or flight,
- 9:55Speaker 2: and it becomes increasingly difficult to listen, empathize, and think clearly.
- 9:59Speaker 2: So when you feel like that, it's not the time
- 10:02Speaker 2: to force a discussion. Now, Experts are saying, just go
- 10:05Speaker 2: to bed, even though you guys haven't settled things yet,
- 10:08Speaker 2: you're gonna think a little more clearly in the morning
- 10:10Speaker 2: and work things out.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Then that never made sense to me. I mean, you're
- 10:13Speaker 1: still trying to win the argument at three am.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I want to go to bed. Let's worry about this tomorrow.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Just go to the couch. It's okay. I don't need
- 10:22Speaker 1: this nonsense.
- 10:24Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
- 10:27Speaker 3: expect next on light at them.
- 10:31Speaker 1: We're right here one of six point seven light FM.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Jack and Christine, good morning, Thank you for having a son.
- 10:39Speaker 1: So where do we go for information? Now? We've got
- 10:42Speaker 1: so many places to look.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Christ we do, but apparently if we say google it,
- 10:47Speaker 2: it's like giving away our age.
- 10:49Speaker 1: I don't know it's still there though.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah, you can still google we call it now search
- 10:55Speaker 2: it up.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Search it up?
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yeah, sounds it should be a song. Search it up.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Reason is simple. Younger generations are using chat, GPT, TikTok, YouTube, Siri,
- 11:07Speaker 2: Alexa to do their searching, so when we say google it,
- 11:11Speaker 2: that's just narrowing it down to one thing, so they're
- 11:13Speaker 2: not as much into the googling as we always.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Say this as far, I will defend Google with one
- 11:19Speaker 1: thing that has the AI now so it will give
- 11:21Speaker 1: you an answer where you used to just give you
- 11:24Speaker 1: fifteen websites and you have to find it yourself. Yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 1: And I asked producer Kristen. He said, you know, people
- 11:29Speaker 1: are looking up information on TikTok, which I'm not a
- 11:32Speaker 1: big TikTok user, but you and I if we wanted
- 11:35Speaker 1: to know how the best how to polish I don't
- 11:38Speaker 1: know the headlights in our car. You go to YouTube
- 11:41Speaker 1: and they'll show you a video. But she reminded me
- 11:44Speaker 1: that those videos, the guy comes out, he shows you
- 11:47Speaker 1: the rags. Here's my garage, like cuts to the chase. Okay,
- 11:51Speaker 1: right there at the headlight, polishing it up, and this
- 11:53Speaker 1: is the stuff you use.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, so TikTok might be a little quicker, but yes, YouTube,
- 11:58Speaker 2: but sometimes I have to speed it along too. They're
- 12:01Speaker 2: also letting us know what's giving us away if if
- 12:04Speaker 2: you care your age, they say, taking photos of your
- 12:07Speaker 2: food and posting it online. They're done with that. The
- 12:10Speaker 2: phrase I did a thing has been overused. I've never
- 12:14Speaker 2: done a thing, you've never done, you post it.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I may have. I just never said I've done a thing.
- 12:19Speaker 2: They've been this for years. Skinny jeans. Okay, we got
- 12:23Speaker 2: the message. They don't want skinny jeans anymore. They don't
- 12:26Speaker 2: like lol. They say look and especially if you say that,
- 12:30Speaker 2: they're like, just laugh. Don't say lol.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Do people say it? I thought you just used it
- 12:35Speaker 1: when you text somebody help me here.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Typically it says but it's.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I mean, Christy, if you say something funny, I'm gonna laugh.
- 12:42Speaker 1: I'm not just gonna go lol.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think I've ever said lol, but yes
- 12:47Speaker 2: it does. It does sound a little open toe shoes. Sorry,
- 12:50Speaker 2: I'm wearing sandals today, so I guess I've been facled.
- 12:54Speaker 1: My feet's not my best thing, so keeping covered.
- 12:57Speaker 2: They're tired of side parts and hair and high waist
- 13:00Speaker 2: to jeans, which I thought you guys just brought back.
- 13:02Speaker 2: But now you're done.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Okay, Just can we say Can I say what I'm
- 13:05Speaker 1: not happy with?
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yeah? What are you not?
- 13:07Speaker 1: Drop the word? Like? Oh, for every five words when
- 13:12Speaker 1: you're having a conversation like anybody. I was like, you know,
- 13:17Speaker 1: and like he was like and we did this, Like
- 13:19Speaker 1: I was like, drop it.
- 13:20Speaker 2: I think I might do it.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Sorry, you know you just google it.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Yeah, more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
- 13:31Speaker 3: you expect. Next on light f M, you do pretty
- 13:34Speaker 3: good in trivia Light.
- 13:36Speaker 2: F MS Trivia Battle one of six point seven Light
- 13:40Speaker 2: f M. Good morning, It's Christine Jack and for Covey
- 13:43Speaker 2: along with producer kristin time for a little trivia battle
- 13:45Speaker 2: Jack to win tickets to see Ed Sharon in concert.

- 13:51Speaker 1: I have Scott from plain View. Scott, how you doing today? Hi?

- 14:09Speaker 1: what grade?
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yes, I'm a teacher, high school, mostly ninth grade.

- 14:38Speaker 1: year A nineteen fifty four, B nineteen sixty four, C
- 14:44Speaker 1: nineteen seventy four.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Oh gosh, it's been around where I was born. But
- 14:51Speaker 3: I'll go as Alds like in nineteen fifty four.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Nineteen fifty four. Yes, indeed it is good?
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yes, okay, Kevin, here we go, as is a line
