- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back.
- 0:01Speaker 1: I am so, so glad you're here.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Every week, I want to create a follow-up episode that is short, sweet and all about the actionable steps that you can take from this week's longer podcast.
- 0:13Speaker 1: So every week, my objective is to distill the episode down into a couple of bullet points that I want you to act on immediately to make a big, big, big impact in your business.
- 0:23Speaker 1: I want you to take what you've learned in the long format episode and actually do something with it.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Finish it, do the thing.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I am your host of the Efficient Advisor, libby Griewe, and I built a 100% referral-only planning practice from scratch that I grew to seven figures as a solo advisor, all while working just three days a week and taking off 14 weeks a year so that I could be a super present mom, wife, friend, sister, daughter and, frankly, a travel obsessed human who loved that 14 weeks of vacation a year y'all.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And I am here to walk alongside you and to show you how to do exactly the same and to really help you take immediate action on the most important strategies for scaling, organizing and creating less stress and overwhelm in your business.
- 1:07Speaker 1: We are about to transform your practice, so move over exhaustion and get out of the way.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Advisor ADD.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It is time to take that one right next step to build a business and a life that you love.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So this week's episode was the second resources episode.
- 1:26Speaker 1: I did episode number one where I just dove into all of the free and paid for resources that you can find on the Efficient Advisor.
- 1:34Speaker 1: That was episode number 137.
- 1:37Speaker 1: If you haven't listened to that one, go ahead and take a listen.
- 1:42Speaker 1: In this week's episode I just expanded on that and highlighted a few more examples of different resources or a couple new resources that have been added to the website, to the community, to all the different places that you can find the templates, tools, workbooks, videos, literally like all the things.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And something I totally forgot to mention in this week's resources episode and I'm so, so mad at myself.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But episode number 148 I shared about how to create a family tree template that you can use inside of your practice and all of the amazing cool ways that you can use it to organize information, to use it as a great way to get more referrals, to gain deeper relationships with your clients, as a way to just kind of systematize some of that human to human connection with your clients, and that episode was really popular and I had a ton of people email me afterwards going okay, I tried searching the internet for a family tree template, can you just like give us yours?
- 2:44Speaker 1: And I said, oh gosh, well, that's something I usually reserve for coaching clients.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Like, I have a lot of templates and tools that I give for free, which are a lot of the things that we're talking about today and this week and you know, on the episodes of the resources.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But I obviously have a ton more templates, tools, all the things, a lot more in depth ones.
- 3:02Speaker 1: The family tree is kind of a high level one, which is why I was like, oh, that's the perfect one.
- 3:05Speaker 1: So I wanna keep it fair to the clients that actually pay for coaching services to get a lot of these tools and templates.
- 3:12Speaker 1: And I wanted to make it available to you guys because I totally respect this idea of buying back your time right To even go spend an hour on the internet searching different family tree templates and finding one that you like, that's easy to implement and does what you want it to do and has all the things on it.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I went ahead and just made, I figured out a solution, so I made it available to you guys for a $15 donation to my favorite charity, st Jude.
- 3:37Speaker 1: So if you go out to the website under the resources library, you'll find a link to my family tree template.
- 3:44Speaker 1: When you make a donation to St Jude through that link, you will be sent an email automatically with the document attached.
- 3:52Speaker 1: So it's a $15 and up donation and it's a win, win, win right.
- 3:56Speaker 1: So it's fair to my existing clients.
- 3:58Speaker 1: It makes it easy for you because you don't have to spend any time, energy or resources figuring out what you want for your own template, and the kids over at St Jude could certainly use the additional resources for their circumstances.
- 4:12Speaker 1: So make sure you check that out.
- 4:13Speaker 1: So I did fail totally failed to mention that in the long format episode, but basically to just give you the kind of the highlights from this week's.
- 4:22Speaker 1: If you check out, there's a couple of different places that you can find information.
- 4:26Speaker 1: There is the resource library on my website, which has things like the legacy letter challenge, the 37 point tax checklist, the Roth conversion cheat sheet.
- 4:39Speaker 1: It's got Claire Myers consulting, who is a amazing recruiter specifically for financial services.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It's got all kinds of really cool fully vetted resources for you and I'm updating it all the time.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I also mentioned in the long format episode that I included for the holiday season two gift guides.
- 5:01Speaker 1: There's one for attorneys and one for CPAs, so make sure you check that out.
- 5:06Speaker 1: If you're looking to implement part of your center of influence process or your referral partner process for this holiday season, I have a bunch of fun already found for you, super reasonably priced.
- 5:21Speaker 1: You can make it super repeatable, super easy.
- 5:23Speaker 1: There's lots of different options, everything from fun coffee mugs to CPA socks to all kinds of goodies that you can send them.
- 5:32Speaker 1: So make sure you check that out.
- 5:33Speaker 1: We also highlighted the efficient advisor community on Facebook and I shared with you our Lost Cause follow up process template that's available to you totally for free out there.
- 5:45Speaker 1: You just have to be a member of the community, which is also free, and you can go.
- 5:49Speaker 1: When you go out to the Facebook group, all you have to do is go to the files tab and you'll see that, along with several other standard operating procedures, templates, pdfs, whatever, that you can just straight download.
- 6:02Speaker 1: The third place that you can find resources is my favorite things page and again I mentioned in the long format episode that it's a kind of dumpy part of the website.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It's super old now dated it's from 2014.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Hasn't been looked, loved on and touched for a little while here, but it's got a bunch of my favorite books, a bunch of my favorite kind of tools, resources, office-y things, things that we used for social media production all of that out inside of the Efficient Advisor webpage under Libby's favorite thing.
- 6:37Speaker 1: So if you're looking for a couple like, let's say, maybe for 2024, one of your New Year's resolutions, business goals etc.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Is to read a book a month.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I've got some of my favorite books out there.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I really, really really do need to update it.
- 6:52Speaker 1: But, like I said in the long-format episode, I am leading by example that not everything has to be perfect, not everything has to be updated All of the time, that sometimes there are just bigger fish to fry.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Is it on the project list for 2024?
- 7:06Speaker 1: You bet it is.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So I want you guys to know that it's out there and that we will be updating it and making it way cooler, way more functional.
- 7:13Speaker 1: We're going to make it a lot sexier here in 2024 and update it with all of the books, all of the things that I love client gifts, center of influence, you know, shock and awe items, all of the things, so you can check that out.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I've got my favorite day planner that I use.
- 7:29Speaker 1: That I've used for literally what feels like five million years the best self journal, love it.
- 7:34Speaker 1: There's also a video out under the next area on the website is the video and template resource library.
- 7:42Speaker 1: This is when the efficient advisor used to be a video show.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I have lots of videos for you guys of different Ideas and those all have downloadable templates links so you can actually watch a video on how I use the best self journal planner.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I've modified it even slightly since then because you know you should always be modifying your processes and making them better, but you can check that out as well.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And Finally, the last thing I've got out there for you guys Is the podcast, individual pages, and I went into depth on this on the long format episode.
- 8:17Speaker 1: But basically you can type in the efficient advisor comm backslash whatever episode number to find the individual web page for the first, like maybe 80 to 100 episodes.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And any time I mentioned in an episode hey, there's a template for this or there's a download for this you can go to the show notes and there's an individual web page link that you can click that will take you to a web page where you can download the template for free.
- 8:41Speaker 1: So make sure you guys check all of that out.
- 8:44Speaker 1: I hope this week's episode was helpful for you.
- 8:46Speaker 1: You know, I hope you are, you know, getting excited about the holiday season.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I hope you've done all the things to kind of get your business prepped and ready to go To maximize the holidays and to not let this season kind of take over your life.
- 9:02Speaker 1: So Getting ahead of the holidays was a critical step for us in our financial planning practice and doing those things to get ourselves organized so that the season didn't overwhelm or overtake us, especially knowing that not only do you have all the things going on with your home life, but you've got all of that year-end business processing that happens around this time of the year too, and just building in Buffer time and adequate time to deal with all the things, much less the business planning and all the other stuff that you've got going on.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So take a few deep breaths, clear your calendar and, you know, look at really what you can do the rest of this year.
- 9:37Speaker 1: That's absolutely essential for your clients and for your business and really create a plan to move everything else to at some point in the new year.
- 9:45Speaker 1: That's really how one of the things that we did in our as is kind of like random sidebar as I'm just Yacking into the mic here, it has nothing to do with resources but, as we move into the new year, be thinking about what are the essentials when you know You're getting into a really busy season or a really busy part of the rhythm of your calendar.
- 10:05Speaker 1: So, season being, you know, the holidays, rhythm being year-end processing and those kind of two perfect storms coming together.
- 10:14Speaker 1: The same thing kind of happens with tax season and sort of your kids year-end calendars with school.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Everything kind of comes to a head.
- 10:21Speaker 1: So, giving yourself a lot of buffer, a lot of grace, a lot of margin so that you can handle these things Um effectively and don't wait till the last minute to get your Christmas and Hanukkah gifts, you know, start thinking through that, start creating a brain dump where you can drop ideas and items into that.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Um, we're gonna have to come up with some sort of cool gift guide for just people in your life too.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Maybe that's a 20 25 activity.
- 10:44Speaker 1: But anyway, I digress.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I hope you guys have an amazing rest of your week.
- 10:48Speaker 1: We hang out over in the efficient advisor community over on facebook.
- 10:52Speaker 1: There are 1900 advisors in there ready to share ideas, tips, tricks, resources with you.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And, of course, I hang out over on linkedin, so I'd love for you to connect with me there and follow the content that we put out on linkedin.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Thank you, guys so much.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I hope you have an amazing rest of your week.
