- 4:11Speaker 2: your Internet uncles. Everybody have your back, and you have
- 4:14Speaker 2: a village that surrounding you. Go ahead and knock out
- 4:17Speaker 2: the twenty six twenty seventh school year and just make
- 4:20Speaker 2: it do what it do. Okay, all right, So, of course,
- 4:26Speaker 2: a new Tuesday, a new book Beyond the Diagnosis, Stories
- 4:33Speaker 2: of Living and Thriving. We all have taken tests, We've
- 4:39Speaker 2: all had those medical tests.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And it's something about that word diagnosis.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I think that's one of the biggest, most scariest words words.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I'm sorry, word that I've ever heard. Most people think cancer. No,
- 4:59Speaker 2: it's that word diagnosis. Why because you don't know which
- 5:03Speaker 2: way it's gonna go. Okay, But I have an author
- 5:09Speaker 2: and you guys, this book, y'all know, I'm a cover girl.
- 5:12Speaker 1: This book is beautiful. If I say your book is beautiful.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It is.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I just wish sometime that I can have book covers
- 5:24Speaker 2: as art. You know, I'm looking around in my room
- 5:27Speaker 2: and I'm like, I just wish I could have all
- 5:30Speaker 2: these book covers as art on my wall instead of painting.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Just really have a bunch of book covers. I don't
- 5:36Speaker 2: know why I say it. If I can, I think
- 5:38Speaker 2: I should. You know that'd be my thing. But I
- 5:42Speaker 2: am going to bring up author Morning Pierson, and she's
- 5:45Speaker 2: going to talk to us about the book Beyond a Diagnosis,
- 5:49Speaker 2: Stories of Living and Thriving.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Come on up, Morney, come on up, girly, come on up.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Table three. Hey listeners, Hey everybody, how y'all doing? I
- 6:05Speaker 1: am doing well. How are you doing? Girl? Doing good?
- 6:09Speaker 1: For what's today? Tuesday?
- 6:10Speaker 6: Yes, for Tuesday evening. We cannot complain. We are happy
- 6:14Speaker 6: to be here and happy to chat with the audience.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So before we go any further, tell us a little
- 6:22Speaker 2: bit about yourself.
- 6:24Speaker 6: Well, I am Monique Pearson. I'm originally from upstate.
- 6:28Speaker 1: New York, born and raised.
- 6:30Speaker 6: I'm currently now in the DMB that's DC Maryland, Virginia area.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I'm been here for abably ten years or so. I'm
- 6:41Speaker 1: an army veteran. Now I still am a dupreneur.
- 6:45Speaker 6: I work for the federal government as well as have
- 6:48Speaker 6: my own business. So I call myself a woman of
- 6:51Speaker 6: many hats, so to speak. And I just believe that
- 6:55Speaker 6: we only get one life. And I don't want to
- 6:58Speaker 6: have to go and leave saying SHOULDA could have whatever?
- 7:01Speaker 6: I want to go leaving saying I remember when. So
- 7:06Speaker 6: that's important to me that we maximize each day and
- 7:10Speaker 6: operating in the gifts that God has given me.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So I just have a zest jest for life, for real,
- 7:17Speaker 1: for real.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Now I like that, because you know we all got
- 7:21Speaker 2: the fifty million hats.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I'm going to ask, how did you keep organized?
- 7:29Speaker 6: Who I'm a I'm a written person, like I keep
- 7:33Speaker 6: my calendar in my phone, I have my paper planner.
- 7:37Speaker 6: I think before we got started, I had my little
- 7:39Speaker 6: board for a quarter like I'm a person who is
- 7:42Speaker 6: I love writing stuff down. To me, that actual writing
- 7:47Speaker 6: it down I don't know, gives me a and be
- 7:49Speaker 6: able to check it off gives me a sense of satisfaction.
- 7:53Speaker 6: So there are multiple stop gates h in place that
- 7:58Speaker 6: I'm able to manage, and I pretty much plan all
- 8:00Speaker 6: my day from the beginning.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I take the time block. I'm being able to.
- 8:05Speaker 6: Keep things going in then plus being able to have
- 8:07Speaker 6: help like assistance, because I would not be able to
- 8:10Speaker 6: be successful by trying to do everything by myself.
- 8:16Speaker 1: We see my assistance.
- 8:17Speaker 2: She ain't no help, she's elabing I'm don't have to fear,
- 8:24Speaker 2: but I mean, good God and help.
- 8:26Speaker 1: And I was kidding. I have tried that. Writing it
- 8:31Speaker 1: all down does not work for me.
- 8:37Speaker 6: Yeah, I guess everybody got to figure out what's their
- 8:40Speaker 6: best method.
- 8:42Speaker 1: I don't know. That has always been my thing, the
- 8:44Speaker 1: checklist and.
- 8:45Speaker 6: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. So that has
- 8:47Speaker 6: been working for me for over thirty years and I'm
- 8:50Speaker 6: gonna keep riding with it. I'm gonna have to try
- 8:54Speaker 6: that again. I mean, I got a plan. It's like
- 8:57Speaker 6: right here looking at me. But if I would go
- 9:03Speaker 6: on the road like that, everybody carries their phone everywhere
- 9:07Speaker 6: there go and put in alerts on it like this
- 9:09Speaker 6: is this I don't know.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I guess you gotta play with what works best for you.
- 9:14Speaker 1: That is a good idea of putting it in my phone.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Mm hmm. That's a lot.
- 9:20Speaker 2: But I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try. I'm gonna try
- 9:22Speaker 2: to do better. Okay, what made you want to become
- 9:25Speaker 2: an author? I mean all I hat you have you
- 9:28Speaker 2: do author in there?
- 9:30Speaker 3: Why?
- 9:31Speaker 6: H it wasn't intentional, To be honest with you, I
- 9:36Speaker 6: started my business so without them as enterprises, like during
- 9:41Speaker 6: the pandemic, and once the world opened up and we
- 9:44Speaker 6: were able to travel, I was miss, I guess inadvertently
- 9:49Speaker 6: put into a coaching position trying to give women courage
- 9:54Speaker 6: and overcome their fears about traveling internationally because many that
- 9:59Speaker 6: I work with had not been out the country and
- 10:02Speaker 6: they wanted to, but they were stopping themselves because of
- 10:05Speaker 6: the fears. So I found myself in the coaching lane
- 10:09Speaker 6: and advertently working with.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Them to get them over that.
- 10:12Speaker 6: And I had so many people come to me as
- 10:16Speaker 6: asking questions.
- 10:17Speaker 1: So I was like, you know what, instead of just.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Limiting my advice and my experiences to just the people
- 10:25Speaker 6: who I'm able to touch as clients, why not write
- 10:28Speaker 6: a book to be able to get this out there?
- 10:31Speaker 6: So that is how take that trip Girl? The Ultimate
- 10:34Speaker 6: bucket List Journal got started in twenty twenty two, which
- 10:38Speaker 6: was my very first book.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Okay, now I'm kidding, I would be one of those women.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I've only been on the plane twice. That's the going
- 10:46Speaker 2: and come back. Actually, yeah, that'll be three point my.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Urbul that stopped you?
- 10:57Speaker 2: No, I am okay, So I am about to to
- 11:01Speaker 2: give y'all big, big, big revelation. I am definitely afraid
- 11:07Speaker 2: of heights. Like when I'm telling you that, if it's
- 11:12Speaker 2: I can walk up a flight of steps, that's it.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 11:19Speaker 6: It always stands from something or experience and maybe how
- 11:25Speaker 6: big I am. I drop a French fry or a
- 11:28Speaker 6: piece of chicken or something, but me and heights, I've
- 11:34Speaker 6: never What would you say to a woman like me
- 11:38Speaker 6: who wants to trap world?
- 11:42Speaker 1: Mm hmmm afraid of height.
- 11:45Speaker 6: That's why I said I would have to get to
- 11:47Speaker 6: the root, cause most of our fears stem from an
- 11:51Speaker 6: initial incident and then we are trapped in whenever that
- 11:55Speaker 6: time frame came and have not been able to walk out.
- 12:00Speaker 6: It is somewhat similar to therapy, having to get to
- 12:03Speaker 6: the root of what the trauma started. So we'll have
- 12:05Speaker 6: to start there as to what is your earliest memory
- 12:09Speaker 6: of the fear of heights, Like trace it back, when
- 12:15Speaker 6: did that start?
- 12:20Speaker 2: You might have to talk after this because jan Trump,
- 12:23Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 12:25Speaker 6: Yeah, you don't know the root cause of an issue,
- 12:28Speaker 6: how are you gonna overcome it?
- 12:31Speaker 1: We got to start for the route.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Mmm, if you don't know the root cause of the issue,
- 12:37Speaker 2: how are you going to overcome it?
- 12:40Speaker 1: Because we'll be treating symptoms versus the actual issue. So
- 12:47Speaker 1: it applies here too. Can find out she is trumping
- 12:51Speaker 1: the nuggets and I have to think.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Hol she does drop a whole one, right, then get.
- 12:57Speaker 1: To the root of her did that one on me?
- 13:01Speaker 2: So you have the book Beyond the Diagnosis? I've seen you, Bluton,
- 13:07Speaker 2: if I'm not mistaken. I went to your website, which
- 13:10Speaker 2: is a beautiful website at that Oh, thank you? What
- 13:15Speaker 2: means you want to write beyond the diagnosis? That's that's
- 13:19Speaker 2: that'd be titled like what made you want to say?
- 13:21Speaker 2: I'm going to write this and it looks like it
- 13:24Speaker 2: might be for women only, but you know me, I
- 13:26Speaker 2: don't like to put it in a gender type, but
- 13:28Speaker 2: you know what made you want to write this one?
- 13:31Speaker 1: Well? That was personal for me.
- 13:35Speaker 6: April eighty, twenty twenty four, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
- 13:41Speaker 6: So even at the onset of that diagnosis. Being a
- 13:46Speaker 6: woman of faith, I said, God, I know that this
- 13:49Speaker 6: is going to be bigger than me, and that you're
- 13:51Speaker 6: going to use this in a positive way. What it
- 13:55Speaker 6: was I didn't know at the time, but I knew
- 13:59Speaker 6: innately that this something positivest was going to come from
- 14:02Speaker 6: this diagnosis. So probably a year and a half later,
- 14:08Speaker 6: it was finally revealed to me what that purpose was,
- 14:12Speaker 6: and that was to get other women who also are walking.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Out this journey with autoimmune disorders.
- 14:20Speaker 6: Chronic illnesses and share their stories because I know the
- 14:25Speaker 6: power that comes in testimony and having others being able
- 14:29Speaker 6: to have someone who they can relate to and like,
- 14:32Speaker 6: if she was able to overcome this, I can too.
- 14:36Speaker 6: Somebody has to be that flag post, be that example
- 14:40Speaker 6: who'll be willing to put themselves out there where most
- 14:42Speaker 6: people have a diagnosis, possibly they'll shut down that life
- 14:48Speaker 6: is over for them. And I don't know why, but
- 14:51Speaker 6: for me, it fewed me to have like, Okay, I
- 14:54Speaker 6: can't take any day for granted, and it.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Just motivated me to truly.
- 15:01Speaker 6: Walk this thing out and be able to be a
- 15:04Speaker 6: resource for other women who may be newly diagnosed or
- 15:08Speaker 6: who doesn't have a community. So I wanted to be
- 15:11Speaker 6: that person to be able to give them that.
- 15:16Speaker 2: And you know what, that's so true because like I
- 15:21Speaker 2: said that that were diagnoses. It's very, very scary, and
- 15:25Speaker 2: I think people take that.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And they they start to shut down.
- 15:33Speaker 2: You know, I've had a friend of mine, I won't
- 15:38Speaker 2: even say a friend of mine, I'll go more recent
- 15:41Speaker 2: a family member of mine found out.
- 15:44Speaker 1: That he had kids.
- 15:45Speaker 2: Okay, he kept fighting and he kept fighting, But it
- 15:49Speaker 2: is that when the doctor came back again, they stopped fighting.
- 15:59Speaker 2: I don't I kind of I'm kind of confused, Like
- 16:05Speaker 2: when we get that diagnosis, we sit in fear until
- 16:11Speaker 2: we get the test results. Some people, as of yourself,
- 16:15Speaker 2: We're gonna fight, and then some people they still continue
- 16:19Speaker 2: to live in fear. And I guess that's where your
- 16:23Speaker 2: book comes in to say, hey, you don't have to
- 16:27Speaker 2: live in fear.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and fight.
- 16:29Speaker 2: This is that one of the reasons why you wrote
- 16:33Speaker 2: the book Beyond the diagnosis is to let them know
- 16:36Speaker 2: that you know, and it ain't over well.
- 16:39Speaker 6: I would say too, that stems from the experience when
- 16:42Speaker 6: I was diagnosed. I wanted my I'm being honest, I
- 16:47Speaker 6: was like, I want to find my MS bestie. I
- 16:49Speaker 6: want to find somebody who could be my person that
- 16:52Speaker 6: I can touch base with when I'm experiencing something, ask questions,
- 16:57Speaker 6: Just somebody who can relate to what I'm going going through.
- 17:01Speaker 6: And I was referred to some of the larger organizations.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And I did not relate to.
- 17:07Speaker 6: The people in their majority of them were sharing what
- 17:11Speaker 6: they couldn't do, they what was stopping them. All I
- 17:14Speaker 6: heard was the negative aspect. And for a person like me,
- 17:19Speaker 6: don't tell me what I can't do, show me what
- 17:22Speaker 6: I can or what can I do to adjust to
- 17:25Speaker 6: be there. So I was like, if I'm experiencing this
- 17:28Speaker 6: and can't find my tribe, then I'm sure there are
- 17:32Speaker 6: others who are experienced this as well. So I was like,
- 17:35Speaker 6: I'm going to be intentional about making a tribe, about
- 17:39Speaker 6: letting other women know who possibly can't see the positive
- 17:43Speaker 6: side of this diagnosis, that here are eight other women
- 17:48Speaker 6: who are walking out various journeys of their own, but
- 17:51Speaker 6: yet are still thriving, nonetheless beyond what is associated with
- 17:57Speaker 6: their health.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Okay, so you said eight other women.
- 18:02Speaker 2: Are there others that have co written this book with you?
- 18:06Speaker 6: Right?
- 18:06Speaker 1: It is an anthology project.
- 18:08Speaker 6: So it's myself and seven other co authors who have
- 18:13Speaker 6: been brave enough and willing enough, and I thanked them
- 18:16Speaker 6: all for their yes to come in and share their stories.
- 18:21Speaker 2: So how was it build thing that that sisterhood and
- 18:28Speaker 2: everybody writing their chapters and telling their testimonies, Like, how
- 18:32Speaker 2: did that feel?
- 18:35Speaker 6: I would say, this is a journey. This is my
- 18:38Speaker 6: first anthology. I've written three books by myself, so this
- 18:42Speaker 6: was my first anthology project. And finding the women I
- 18:47Speaker 6: think initially was the challenge, like really having to sit
- 18:52Speaker 6: and talk, because that's asking someone to possibly expose like
- 18:57Speaker 6: some of their most vulnerable moments and they have to
- 19:00Speaker 6: feel safe.
- 19:02Speaker 1: And I remember each individual author like having an.
- 19:05Speaker 6: Hour or two conversation with each of them and I
- 19:08Speaker 6: wanted to know their journeys and listening to them, I
- 19:13Speaker 6: was like, do you see the strength in what you've
- 19:16Speaker 6: overcome where you are? And if I can feel that
- 19:20Speaker 6: I can sense that, imagine how many women you're gonna
- 19:23Speaker 6: bless who are able to be able to share your story.
- 19:27Speaker 6: So for me, it was an honor to be able
- 19:30Speaker 6: to be trusted, as I said, this is my first
- 19:33Speaker 6: time taking this project, that they trusted me to be
- 19:37Speaker 6: able to tell their stories, to honor whatever boundaries they
- 19:41Speaker 6: had in place, and to make.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Sure that it was handled with care and that it
- 19:46Speaker 1: was genuine and that they felt safe. So it was
- 19:49Speaker 1: a beautiful experience starting this anthology.
- 19:53Speaker 6: And then on top of that, to be able to
- 19:55Speaker 6: launch this project with them at the Beyond the Diagnosis
- 19:59Speaker 6: conference which we just had and made it was just
- 20:03Speaker 6: it was awesome because it was everything that I thought
- 20:06Speaker 6: in my head what it would be, but even better
- 20:10Speaker 6: so and just to hear them and once they saw
- 20:13Speaker 6: their stories and they got to read it, and they
- 20:15Speaker 6: just got the book, and people came to the conference
- 20:18Speaker 6: and was just talking to them and sharing how much
- 20:21Speaker 6: their stories helped them. To me, it was all worth it.
- 20:25Speaker 6: It was just it was a beautiful thing.
- 20:32Speaker 2: So you have this conference, Oh my god, how oh
- 20:35Speaker 2: the energy in that room. I can just imagine what
- 20:40Speaker 2: made you want to say, you know what, we got,
- 20:43Speaker 2: the book got us stories.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Let's take it a step further.
- 20:47Speaker 2: How did you and these ladies have the courage to
- 20:51Speaker 2: sit in front of everyone else? Because writing in the
- 20:53Speaker 2: book you can hide behind the pages, but now you're
- 20:57Speaker 2: out in the open, Like.
- 21:01Speaker 1: How did you? Like, I know, I'd be all over
- 21:03Speaker 1: the place if it was me. But how did you
- 21:05Speaker 1: do it?
- 21:07Speaker 6: I would say one that I believe that I don't
- 21:13Speaker 6: know how I've always been this way, that I don't
- 21:15Speaker 6: like to have a fear hold me hostage. If there's
- 21:18Speaker 6: something that I'm afraid of, I take it as a
- 21:21Speaker 6: personal assignment to overcome that fear, and that most fears
- 21:26Speaker 6: are worse than our heads than if we were allow
- 21:29Speaker 6: ourselves a chance to give ourselves an opportunity to overcome it.
- 21:34Speaker 6: So was the fear there putting this together? Of course
- 21:38Speaker 6: it was because I was like, Okay, I've done one conference.
- 21:42Speaker 1: But it was with other women.
- 21:44Speaker 6: This was my first time, so I just had a
- 21:47Speaker 6: bunch of first at the same time putting together this
- 21:50Speaker 6: project at the same time organizing the conference. But I
- 21:54Speaker 6: knew that once I started sharing what this project was,
- 21:57Speaker 6: what it was about, that God was going to bring
- 22:00Speaker 6: to ordained people who would help me to carry forth
- 22:02Speaker 6: this mission and without a shedof with doubt, as I said,
- 22:06Speaker 6: not being able to do this by myself. He appointed
- 22:09Speaker 6: people at the times that I needed them most, who
- 22:12Speaker 6: partnered with me to serve as ambassadors, to serve as
- 22:16Speaker 6: the MC which is one of the co authors that
- 22:19Speaker 6: we've met and shared several stages, and she was like, Monique,
- 22:25Speaker 6: I'm in because she was like, I want to be.
- 22:26Speaker 1: The host because they can relate to it. There was
- 22:29Speaker 1: a need for it.
- 22:32Speaker 6: So once you get outside of your fear and look
- 22:35Speaker 6: at far as what this is going to do on
- 22:38Speaker 6: the other end and the people who is going to
- 22:40Speaker 6: bless and the impact that you're going to be able
- 22:43Speaker 6: to make, that is what was the motivation to keep
- 22:46Speaker 6: going forward with this. And I wanted these women to
- 22:50Speaker 6: come out from behind the pages. I wanted people to
- 22:53Speaker 6: be able to meet them, to greet them, and to
- 22:56Speaker 6: see that this is not just a story, this is
- 22:59Speaker 6: in a fantasy, this isn't nonfiction. These are real life
- 23:02Speaker 6: people who are walking out these journeys that you're seeing
- 23:05Speaker 6: in this page. And I wanted them to be able
- 23:08Speaker 6: to make that connection, and for people who were in
- 23:11Speaker 6: the audience and who participated to know that it's possible
- 23:14Speaker 6: for you as well. And here is a visual depiction
- 23:18Speaker 6: of live and in person from.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Beyond the page to the stage.
- 23:22Speaker 6: To be able to see these women in person and
- 23:25Speaker 6: be able to connect with them, I think that was
- 23:27Speaker 6: important for me to be able to be and have
- 23:32Speaker 6: us be those images that this is truly possible.
- 23:36Speaker 1: It's not a dream. Yeah, it's something when you see
- 23:40Speaker 1: it in person.
- 23:42Speaker 2: It's like a little extra light to the fire when
- 23:46Speaker 2: you see that person person.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I totally understand.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Yeah, the difference between watching church online and being in
- 23:56Speaker 6: the building, it's the same concept to me.
- 23:59Speaker 1: There's something you just can't get unless you're in the room.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You're right, you surely is right there is. That's a
- 24:08Speaker 1: big difference. You hit the bill on the head of
- 24:11Speaker 1: that one. When I'm talking to my dog, Why do.
- 24:13Speaker 2: We have to go to church in person? Doesn't mean
- 24:17Speaker 2: when you go there and she yeah, I like it
- 24:20Speaker 2: better in person. Yeah, because you ain't for home to sleep,
- 24:22Speaker 2: little girl. So I totally understand. Yeah, since we're talking
- 24:29Speaker 2: about stages here, I don't know if you kind of
- 24:32Speaker 2: remember I said we have that fun questions. Yes, Yeah,
- 24:38Speaker 2: it's time to come on in the hot seat, girly,
- 24:42Speaker 2: it is time.
- 24:43Speaker 1: It's time. I ain't never scared. Go ahead, cannot I
- 24:50Speaker 1: seen you? I see you.
- 24:54Speaker 2: We were dealing with Lifetime moving network, but then you
- 24:57Speaker 2: know what, you guys, I just discovered all all black.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Okay, it's an actual TV channel. It's called All Black.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Okay, I was looking to just it was Chloe and Wendy,
- 25:12Speaker 2: Wendy and Chloe.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Something like that.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Yes, all right, but you know it's in the middle
- 25:17Speaker 2: of night and I can't sleep, so I need something
- 25:18Speaker 2: to look at on TV. But we usually talk a
- 25:21Speaker 2: lifetime but I want to bring it to us. Okay,
- 25:25Speaker 2: All Black said, you know we love you both. Okay,
- 25:30Speaker 2: we want to have documentary with you and the Lates.
- 25:39Speaker 2: We need to get someone to be able to help
- 25:44Speaker 2: us put this documentary on. Who would you give the
- 25:49Speaker 2: honor of being your assistant putting this documentary on? Have
- 25:58Speaker 2: to be okay, someone that has playwriting skill or an
- 26:08Speaker 2: fellow author. Who would you choose and why did you
- 26:12Speaker 2: choose that person? This is your right hand man that's
- 26:16Speaker 2: going to help you bring your.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Your stream. Who would you choose?
- 26:23Speaker 6: You said, they have to be a playwright and we
- 26:28Speaker 6: can say Shonda Rhyme.
- 26:31Speaker 1: You know what's her name, Ava Duby, what's the lady? Yeah,
- 26:37Speaker 1: when you started talking, book.
- 26:42Speaker 6: In my head and it's so funny that you mentioned documentary. Oh,
- 26:46Speaker 6: I know, that's confirmation because God revealed that to me
- 26:49Speaker 6: the last podcast that I was on. She was like, Monique,
- 26:52Speaker 6: I see a documentary for you. So you're the third
- 26:54Speaker 6: person who told me that. So I know that that
- 26:57Speaker 6: is going to be the next flow of succession, that
- 27:01Speaker 6: that's gonna happen.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Well, the Bible say out of mouth the two or
- 27:05Speaker 2: three womens's let my word be established, sim.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Why did you choose this either?
- 27:16Speaker 6: I just think far as the authenticy of her storytelling.
- 27:22Speaker 1: What's the show where they had the sugar cane fields.
- 27:26Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, you know which one I'm talking about
- 27:28Speaker 6: with the two sisters and then the father passed and
- 27:31Speaker 6: then the brother and he was raising the farm.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I can't think of the name. And
- 27:37Speaker 1: I see his face. You know what I'm talking about?
- 27:42Speaker 1: That show.
- 27:44Speaker 2: The two sisters, Queen Sugar, Queen Sugar, and when you
- 27:50Speaker 2: were speaking and when you asked me, who is gonna
- 27:52Speaker 2: be her?
- 27:53Speaker 1: And my her name came.
- 27:55Speaker 6: That show came because one I relate to shows that
- 27:59Speaker 6: are realistic, that showed truth struggle, that showed real life.
- 28:05Speaker 6: And that's what I believe will be given. Justice is
- 28:08Speaker 6: not trying to fantasize and make things better or polished
- 28:12Speaker 6: or shiny. I want people to be able to see
- 28:15Speaker 6: the true authentic story of what this looks like walking
- 28:20Speaker 6: out this journey of having this associated diagnosis, but that it.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Doesn't have you.
- 28:27Speaker 6: I still want the authenticity of the good, the bad,
- 28:30Speaker 6: but also being able to show the grit, the resilience,
- 28:33Speaker 6: the strength, the hope that the dreams don't have to
- 28:36Speaker 6: be let go.
- 28:36Speaker 1: And I think she'll be able to translate that very well.
- 28:41Speaker 1: That is so true, because she did it all. I
- 28:44Speaker 1: was just thinking about the one, the five, such a
- 28:51Speaker 1: part five that was so hard that one broke me.
- 28:56Speaker 1: Oh man, that's a hart. I can never watch that again.
- 28:59Speaker 1: I cried too much, too hard that was and I'm
- 29:01Speaker 1: an impath. That was too hard for me. That was Listen.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I still remember watching that and you felt every energy
- 29:12Speaker 2: in the young guy who's actually the South Carolina go
- 29:16Speaker 2: baby who played.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Corey Corey that the young man.
- 29:24Speaker 2: The way he oh, the way he did that was
- 29:29Speaker 2: you you picked somebody that that's aod.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what she has to think about that. But
- 29:35Speaker 1: that story, Oh lord.
- 29:38Speaker 2: She did another one, didn't She did the four? Is
- 29:42Speaker 2: it a fourteen or nine seventy something something project? He
- 29:47Speaker 2: did that one too. She does a lot of documentaries
- 29:50Speaker 2: that have to do with real life issues that has
- 29:53Speaker 2: happened as in too and I'm gonna say it like this,
- 29:57Speaker 2: you guys. And if you got a problem with saying
- 29:58Speaker 2: thing like that, oh well, at a happened to our people, soap.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Flogging for that choice.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Yeah, so now we have asam we have here. You know,
- 30:10Speaker 2: all documentaries have to have on even movies have to
- 30:14Speaker 2: have a theme song. You first had your book in
- 30:21Speaker 2: your hand, you couldn't think of a theme song for
- 30:25Speaker 2: the first time you lead your eyes on the completed project.
- 30:30Speaker 2: What would that theme song be?
- 30:32Speaker 1: And why? Well, my theme.
- 30:35Speaker 6: Song has been for the past two years building something.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I don't know the artist's name.
- 30:42Speaker 6: I know, I know a song, but I'm so bad
- 30:46Speaker 6: at knowing the artist's name. But that has been my
- 30:48Speaker 6: theme song for the past two years whenever I go
- 30:51Speaker 6: to speak. When I walked in and opened up this conference,
- 30:54Speaker 6: because we are just getting started and I can just
- 30:59Speaker 6: see how this is going to continue to build, how
- 31:02Speaker 6: it's going to continue to bless and this is just
- 31:05Speaker 6: the beginning. So that will be the theme song, and
- 31:08Speaker 6: that has been the theme song for the past two years.
- 31:13Speaker 2: All right, So we got your theme song, and we
- 31:16Speaker 2: have your right hand man. But then, you know what,
- 31:21Speaker 2: we have to have someone to play you because now
- 31:25Speaker 2: Lifetime say, oh no, y'all ain't getting all that we
- 31:29Speaker 2: want to. We want to do a movie about her life.
- 31:32Speaker 2: Who would you give the honor of playing here?
- 31:35Speaker 1: And why? Hmm?
- 31:41Speaker 6: Well, the person that's bringing in that for I always
- 31:44Speaker 6: gotta go with. My first thought is Sonnila Fan.
- 31:49Speaker 1: You know I ain't hear her name in a good minute.
- 31:52Speaker 6: Yeah, because I want I want the casting to be
- 31:56Speaker 6: somewhat I hate when you know it's based off of
- 31:59Speaker 6: by I'll be in. This person doesn't even have any
- 32:02Speaker 6: resemblance because I feel like you can't get into the role.
- 32:05Speaker 6: So and it's also close and similar in age and
- 32:10Speaker 6: then going off for her acting chops. So yeah, that's
- 32:13Speaker 6: she's the person who popped in my mind. So that
- 32:17Speaker 6: would be my person.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yes, because her and disappearing that and then her and
- 32:25Speaker 2: the best Man Holiday are like two different people.
- 32:29Speaker 6: Mm hmm. Yeah, So I said each role I see her,
- 32:32Speaker 6: I don't see her in her previous one.
- 32:34Speaker 1: She's able to morph into what that character calls for.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Yes, well, you know you have to give us the
- 32:43Speaker 2: rundown because my understanding is you got some events coming
- 32:48Speaker 2: up pretty soon, and you got websites and social media pages,
- 32:54Speaker 2: So howbout you go ahead and give us the rundowns
- 32:57Speaker 2: so we can follow you and choose your books, or
- 33:01Speaker 2: you can come see you in.

- 36:38Speaker 2: because I know that we all tend to go to Amazon.

- 37:04Speaker 2: on ebook format. They I don't know how they're doing it,
- 37:09Speaker 2: but they're not even using Amazon, they're not even using
- 37:12Speaker 2: books and book books familiar, but they have their booking
- 37:15Speaker 2: e format.
- 37:15Speaker 1: If you're one of those girlies or.
- 37:18Speaker 2: One of those fellas, these fellas, you know, this might
- 37:20Speaker 2: be the book for your girl, your mom, your aunt,
- 37:22Speaker 2: your sister, your niece, you know, because we all work
- 37:26Speaker 2: and we need to support each other correct good. So
- 37:31Speaker 2: let's go ahead and try to support each other. And
- 37:33Speaker 2: if you can't, and if you're an author and you
- 37:36Speaker 2: really want your books on kindles, listen how you support
- 37:41Speaker 2: that author even more?
- 37:43Speaker 1: Leave a review?
- 37:44Speaker 2: Okay, lead a review. You guys will be shocked how
- 37:50Speaker 2: important reviews are to get in some of these arenas.

- 38:21Speaker 6: Oh I'm gonna put it in our group chat and
- 38:23Speaker 6: see yes, I know a couple of.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Them will say yes. I got a couple of shy ones.
- 38:28Speaker 2: And if they're shy, we don't have to do it live.
- 38:32Speaker 2: We could do it pre recorded and we could just
- 38:35Speaker 2: go back and forth. I would just love to see
- 38:37Speaker 2: these wonderful.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Women and just draw on that energy that they have.
- 38:45Speaker 6: I'm gonna put it to be in the present. That's like, hey, ladies,

- 38:51Speaker 6: to have y'all. So I would definitely follow up and

- 40:01Speaker 4: We are the check.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Welcome to the cold. Come on, this is where its thoughts.
- 40:11Speaker 1: We are the chang
