- 0:04Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty fives Stuck in Sports,
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they went a wi So, yeah, it's too bad,
- 0:11Speaker 1: but what did you expect. It's a podcast called twenty
- 0:15Speaker 1: five Whistles, twenty wine win. Hey guys, Me Solo and
- 0:23Speaker 1: net Kurtz on my left side especially. I was at
- 0:26Speaker 1: the batting cages yesterday and hitting baseballs too, by the way,
- 0:31Speaker 1: which I haven't hit baseballs in many years. And so I
- 0:35Speaker 1: go with a buddy of mine and we get there
- 0:38Speaker 1: and there's like twenty five ten year olds that showed
- 0:42Speaker 1: up five minutes before us, and so they have completely
- 0:44Speaker 1: taken over the cages with the pitching machines, and rightfully,
- 0:47Speaker 1: so the batting cages aren't really for adult men whatever.
- 0:50Speaker 1: There are some softball guys out there sometimes, but mostly yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 1: it's kids who are playing baseball. And so we get there,
- 0:56Speaker 1: so we decided we're gonna get a one of these rooms,
- 1:00Speaker 1: one of the areas where you can actually throw batting practice.
- 1:04Speaker 1: And so it's him and I. We borrowed a bat
- 1:07Speaker 1: and we got a bucket of balls, and so we're
- 1:09Speaker 1: throwing in swinging two things our bodies don't normally do.
- 1:12Speaker 1: And so yeah, left side of my neck is killing me.
- 1:16Speaker 1: My back's a little tweaked. But and I'll say it
- 1:19Speaker 1: now maybe I won't be so specific, but the All
- 1:23Speaker 1: Star weekend is in Atlanta, not this weekend, but next weekend,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and I will be participating in something where I have
- 1:29Speaker 1: to hit baseball as far. So that is what I'm
- 1:34Speaker 1: practicing for. And I guess more than practicing, I'm just
- 1:37Speaker 1: trying to get to a place where I don't get
- 1:38Speaker 1: there and embarrass myself. So it's kind of the goal.
- 1:41Speaker 1: But we did that yesterday. I'm a little bit sore.
- 1:44Speaker 1: And again I played rex softball last year. I played
- 1:48Speaker 1: in the MLB Celebrity Softball Game last year and that
- 1:51Speaker 1: was fun. Heck, I was MVP. That was awesome, really
- 1:54Speaker 1: really fun night. But having a baseball, like a fast
- 2:01Speaker 1: pitch baseball. So finally, after we threw a bunch of
- 2:05Speaker 1: batting practice to each other, we got into a machine
- 2:08Speaker 1: because I guess the kids left, and we put it
- 2:10Speaker 1: on sixty miles an hour and just swung away regardless.
- 2:15Speaker 1: I'm sores. Crap, I'm here, but I'm gonna try not
- 2:18Speaker 1: to embarrass myself coming up. And now I can give
- 2:19Speaker 1: you more details soon I'm sure. I don't even think
- 2:21Speaker 1: I'm supposed to say that, but it's in like a
- 2:24Speaker 1: week and a half, so I really don't think they
- 2:27Speaker 1: care what I say. But it will be in Atlanta.
- 2:30Speaker 1: If anybody's listening to this in Atlanta, and it's gonna
- 2:34Speaker 1: be that weekend, it's actually gonna be the Sunday. I
- 2:36Speaker 1: can tell you that of All Star weekend, and you
- 2:38Speaker 1: want to come out, would love to see you, would
- 2:40Speaker 1: love to meet you, that type of thing. So yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 1: that's where we are as of right now. I also
- 2:47Speaker 1: was looking at this least attractive hobbies for men to have,
- 2:54Speaker 1: and I think the reason that it popped up in
- 2:56Speaker 1: my feed is because I was probably doing a very
- 2:59Speaker 1: un attractive hobby for an adult man, which was I
- 3:02Speaker 1: was in a batting cage when there were kids all around.
- 3:06Speaker 1: So probably the bad of purpose though, right, But here
- 3:10Speaker 1: we go, the top fifteen least attractive hobbies two women
- 3:16Speaker 1: that men do. Number one is comic books, and I
- 3:23Speaker 1: don't have any comic books. I have friends that have
- 3:26Speaker 1: comic books. And I don't want to be terribly judgmental
- 3:28Speaker 1: about any of these, because I'm sure I have some
- 3:30Speaker 1: of these. I would like five or six, and I
- 3:32Speaker 1: stopped and thought I would just read them as I
- 3:34Speaker 1: did this segment and react to them. But women think
- 3:37Speaker 1: comic books are really nerdy. It's number one at thirty
- 3:40Speaker 1: three percent here on the list. Think about comic books
- 3:44Speaker 1: is much like baseball cards, and that may pop up later.
- 3:49Speaker 1: There's some real value if you get a good one,
- 3:53Speaker 1: you get an old one, you say, like, there's some
- 3:54Speaker 1: value in that. But also it's like comic books are
- 3:57Speaker 1: hurting anybody and also nerve. I'll say that because I
- 4:01Speaker 1: think I am a nerd. Also, nerds end up being
- 4:03Speaker 1: everybody's bosses in school. Oh you're a nerd. Oh your dork.
- 4:08Speaker 1: You're by yourself, you're reading your books. Yeah, they end
- 4:12Speaker 1: up being everybody's bosses. But I hear you comic books
- 4:14Speaker 1: at number one and number two. Costplay. Now, I watched
- 4:18Speaker 1: a TikTok video I think it was last night, where
- 4:23Speaker 1: there's this creator and he goes to these i'll call
- 4:26Speaker 1: them costplay fairs where all these people are dressed up
- 4:30Speaker 1: like video game characters. And I've seen them do this
- 4:32Speaker 1: on a few so it's not like I came across
- 4:33Speaker 1: this one time. But there was a dude dressed up
- 4:36Speaker 1: like recket Ralph from the cartoon, and he goes and
- 4:40Speaker 1: he has this huge tent and he's with this dude
- 4:43Speaker 1: who's dressed up like reckitt Ralph and the guy's foling
- 4:44Speaker 1: in character and he says, wreck of Ralph, will you
- 4:49Speaker 1: switch your costumes with whatever is in the tent? And
- 4:53Speaker 1: the guy's like, I don't know. I've been record Ralph
- 4:55Speaker 1: for like the past twelve years. Do I want to switch?
- 4:58Speaker 1: And the guys like it's up to you. But once
- 4:59Speaker 1: you switch, you don't get your other costume back, and
- 5:02Speaker 1: so the guy's like, Okay, let's do it. It's kind
- 5:04Speaker 1: of a fun video because the guy goes in the
- 5:06Speaker 1: tent and I don't even know who he came out as.
- 5:08Speaker 1: It was like some dog and he had a spot
- 5:10Speaker 1: over his eye and he was in it looked like
- 5:12Speaker 1: a Ghostbuster's uniform. I didn't know the cartoon, but I
- 5:15Speaker 1: thought the content was really fun. And you know, I'm
- 5:19Speaker 1: not gonna hate on anybody going to any costplay stuff
- 5:22Speaker 1: because if I were a Jersey to a game like
- 5:24Speaker 1: a little Bit That's gossplaying, it's like a tiny fraction
- 5:27Speaker 1: number three debating. Yah, I don't know a single person
- 5:31Speaker 1: who would say their hobby is debating. I know people
- 5:34Speaker 1: who are challenging and argumentative. I think I'm one of them,
- 5:37Speaker 1: and I kind of do it on the air, But
- 5:39Speaker 1: debating as a hobby, I don't know. Debating as a hobby,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I don't know anyone that does that. At number three,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I did see last night my wife and I went
- 5:50Speaker 1: to dinner and we were driving by the sign that
- 5:53Speaker 1: said trivia every Thursday night at Quirky's at like seven
- 5:57Speaker 1: thirty pm. And Corky's is a barbecue chain, and I
- 6:00Speaker 1: told my wife. I was like, I'll go if you'll go,
- 6:03Speaker 1: and I'd probably go anyway, but she was like, no,
- 6:06Speaker 1: think you don't think I don't want to do trivia night.
- 6:08Speaker 1: So I don't know if trivia pops up on this,
- 6:10Speaker 1: but trivia night and debating, I'm gonna put those in
- 6:12Speaker 1: the same kind of category. I love trivia and not
- 6:17Speaker 1: to super flex on everybody, but in seventh grade, I
- 6:21Speaker 1: was the captain of the twelfth grade quiz Bowl team.
- 6:24Speaker 1: That's right. And again, I know trivia and debating are
- 6:28Speaker 1: not the same thing, but I think for this they
- 6:31Speaker 1: kind of are. I think they fit in that same category.
- 6:33Speaker 1: At least I'm gonna put them in that category. But
- 6:36Speaker 1: it was like the one thing in my life that
- 6:39Speaker 1: I was good at where I naturally would just show
- 6:43Speaker 1: up and people knew that guy was good at that
- 6:45Speaker 1: because I was a seventh grader. I was twelve years
- 6:47Speaker 1: old competing against seventeen year olds. And when I was
- 6:50Speaker 1: in seventh grade, it wasn't like I was dominating seventeen
- 6:52Speaker 1: year olds, but I can mix it up. I was
- 6:55Speaker 1: like a rookie batting about two sixty five. His rookie
- 6:58Speaker 1: year two sixty five, two seventy hit about twenty four
- 7:01Speaker 1: home runs. Enough to where you go, man, respect and
- 7:06Speaker 1: bright future? And boy was at a bright future. I
- 7:08Speaker 1: was awesome at quiz bole. But that's the only thing
- 7:11Speaker 1: in my life really that I've been able to do
- 7:14Speaker 1: and do so well that my reputation preceded me. And
- 7:17Speaker 1: I would show up to quiz Bowl tournaments and people
- 7:19Speaker 1: would be like, Oh, that's the kid. That's pretty cool.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Thinking back, yeah, that's nerdy too, though. Next up is
- 7:26Speaker 1: drinking fourth on the list twenty nine percent. I don't
- 7:32Speaker 1: drink at all, but it does seem fun. And I've
- 7:35Speaker 1: said this many times that it sure does seem fun
- 7:39Speaker 1: that all my friends can just relax and have a drink.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Now I'm not saying that, and then I'm gonna start
- 7:43Speaker 1: drinking tomorrow. I don't think at this point I'll ever drink,
- 7:47Speaker 1: mostly because now it's like I got a really long
- 7:49Speaker 1: streak of never having a drink, but drinking at number
- 7:53Speaker 1: four as part of a hobby. Number five MTG. Now
- 7:58Speaker 1: this is where I stopped reading the list because I
- 7:59Speaker 1: wanted to do that a live and get my reaction.
- 8:01Speaker 1: I don't know what MTG is, so I'm gonna type
- 8:04Speaker 1: it into Google. What is MTG as a hobby? Confused
- 8:09Speaker 1: as what that means? Here we go. EMPTG stands for
- 8:15Speaker 1: Magic the Gathering, got it, which is the collectible trading
- 8:19Speaker 1: card game. As a hobby, it can mean a few
- 8:21Speaker 1: different things depending on how someone is into it. It's
- 8:25Speaker 1: a strategy card game where players build decks and battle
- 8:28Speaker 1: each other using spells, creatures, and magical abilities. It was
- 8:31Speaker 1: created in nineteen ninety three. It was the first ever
- 8:34Speaker 1: trading card game, and it's still wildly popular. It has
- 8:36Speaker 1: fantasy themes think wizards, dragons, and elves. MTG Magic the Gathering,
- 8:42Speaker 1: some rare magic cards are worth thousands of dollars. One
- 8:46Speaker 1: black Lotus card, the Holy Grail of MTG, sold for
- 8:49Speaker 1: over five hundred thousand dollars. That's keep people out of trouble.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I got no problem with it. Nerdy, yeah, but again,
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'm pro nerd, so when I say something's nerdy, that's okay.
- 9:00Speaker 1: We're a nerd. But yeah, nerdiest crap two, three, four five.
- 9:04Speaker 1: We're at number six on the list where twenty seven
- 9:07Speaker 1: percent of women say this is the least attractive. It's anime.
- 9:12Speaker 1: There are certain things that I realized are probably really good.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I've just never gotten into them because I don't have
- 9:17Speaker 1: the interest. But I also respect the fact that they're
- 9:20Speaker 1: probably really good based on it's worldwide popularity. I would
- 9:24Speaker 1: like to walk through some of them. Soccer. Everybody loves
- 9:29Speaker 1: soccer that has had soccer exposure from an early age.
- 9:33Speaker 1: It is the biggest sport in the world, right not
- 9:35Speaker 1: for me. Didn't play growing up. I grew up in
- 9:37Speaker 1: rural Arkansas. We didn't have soccer. We didn't have a
- 9:40Speaker 1: soccer team. We had a football team, we had a
- 9:43Speaker 1: basketball team, we had a baseball team, but we did
- 9:47Speaker 1: not have our home baseball field we had to go
- 9:49Speaker 1: play our home games at a school called Jesseville's Field,
- 9:53Speaker 1: and they made fun of us for it because we
- 9:55Speaker 1: were too poor to have our own field. But we
- 9:57Speaker 1: did have those three sports. We did have a track team,
- 10:00Speaker 1: except we did not have a track and mostly it
- 10:04Speaker 1: was off season football and coach Gandalf made us run track.
- 10:07Speaker 1: And if we didn't run on the track team, we
- 10:09Speaker 1: did play baseball. We did have to do district because
- 10:12Speaker 1: baseball is usually over by district. We didn't have track team,
- 10:17Speaker 1: so we didn't have soccer for sure, But I do
- 10:20Speaker 1: understand that soccer is amazing, even though to me it
- 10:24Speaker 1: is not amazing. Another one of those the Sopranos. Never
- 10:29Speaker 1: seen an episode. I know how it ends, but I've
- 10:32Speaker 1: never seen an episode. But you know what, it's probably
- 10:37Speaker 1: awesome if you start from the beginning and watch it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I'm sure that back then and probably even today, it
- 10:44Speaker 1: is awesome. So many people love it that I trust
- 10:48Speaker 1: and swear by the same thing with Godfather, similar as
- 10:50Speaker 1: vib right, that it's probably awesome, and I just don't
- 10:55Speaker 1: understand it. And I'm going to put anime in that
- 10:57Speaker 1: category wildly popular. I'd put it in the category with
- 11:01Speaker 1: comic books and cosplay. Mostly these women are finding nerds unattractive,
- 11:08Speaker 1: which kind of sucks because I'll say it again, nerds
- 11:10Speaker 1: end up being the boss. But anime comes in at
- 11:14Speaker 1: number six on the list. Dragon Ball is the only
- 11:19Speaker 1: anime that I can think of. I'm sure there's more.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Is Power Rangers anime? No that's not that's humans. Is
- 11:26Speaker 1: there a Power Rangers anime? Again? If I go to
- 11:29Speaker 1: Google and I say, what are the most popular anime
- 11:38Speaker 1: series of all time? Let's learn something together. Here, here
- 11:45Speaker 1: we go, dragon Ball, dragon Ball Z at number one.
- 11:48Speaker 1: They say that's the gateway anime for millions. I'm gonna
- 11:52Speaker 1: say this wrong, guy, So if you're an anime freak,
- 11:55Speaker 1: respect But to sorry Naruto, it's the Coming of Age
- 12:01Speaker 1: Ninja Saga number three one piece, it's a pirate adventure
- 12:05Speaker 1: still going strong with over one thousand episodes. Oh, Pokemon
- 12:09Speaker 1: was the one. That's the one that I probably should
- 12:12Speaker 1: have known. Yeah, I know what that is. And then
- 12:14Speaker 1: number five Attack on Titan. So those are the biggest
- 12:17Speaker 1: anime of all time or animes or anime show. However
- 12:20Speaker 1: you say that number seven makeup, I don't know what
- 12:25Speaker 1: that means. As a hobby that would make up be
- 12:32Speaker 1: a hobby unless you were dressing like a woman. But
- 12:36Speaker 1: that's is I don't know if that's a hobby, I
- 12:39Speaker 1: don't know. I want to get that one. Next up
- 12:41Speaker 1: is crypto. Totally understand how women could be annoyed with
- 12:44Speaker 1: crypto bros. By the way, I don't know anybody that's
- 12:47Speaker 1: made me real money off crypto, like I've made some
- 12:50Speaker 1: money off crypto, except I've never cashed it out. And
- 12:53Speaker 1: the only reason I made money off crypto was six
- 12:57Speaker 1: years ago. I put a couple thousand dollars in because
- 13:01Speaker 1: it was the thing, and I forgot about it, and
- 13:03Speaker 1: I put it in an account and I just forgot
- 13:05Speaker 1: And then I opened it up a year and a
- 13:07Speaker 1: half or so ago and it had times six or seven.
- 13:13Speaker 1: But if I were if I had been involved in
- 13:15Speaker 1: it all time, I would have sold it at some point.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So I know nothing about crypto except what I've learned
- 13:19Speaker 1: in the past few years, and I've been very fortunate
- 13:21Speaker 1: that I bought it and forgot it. Next step of cigars,
- 13:26Speaker 1: Guys that are obsessed with cigars smoking anything just seems
- 13:31Speaker 1: gross to me, and no judgment on the moral part
- 13:35Speaker 1: of smoking anything, I really have. I don't care what
- 13:40Speaker 1: you do in your own time, lungch you're not hurting
- 13:42Speaker 1: animals or kids, and you're generally nice to other people.
- 13:45Speaker 1: All good smoking stuff gross and with a cigar. I
- 13:53Speaker 1: could be wrong here. I've never smoked a cigar. I
- 13:55Speaker 1: never smoked a cigarette. I've never smoked anything. But you
- 13:59Speaker 1: don't like inhale, right, don't you just go? Is that
- 14:03Speaker 1: what it is? My cigar culture is very weak. Right
- 14:12Speaker 1: next up clubbing. So what I'd say to this is,
- 14:20Speaker 1: I think he's number eleven. I think if you're over
- 14:24Speaker 1: like twenty six and you're still going to the club,
- 14:28Speaker 1: there's a mark of like twenty four. Anything past that,
- 14:32Speaker 1: you start to go back down the mountain of coolness.
- 14:35Speaker 1: But I then going to the club's cool. Twenty Some
- 14:39Speaker 1: clubs can't get in unto twenty one, probably most, but
- 14:42Speaker 1: twenty one, twenty two, twenty three, twenty four still cool.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Twenty five is fine, But I'm saying it then stops
- 14:49Speaker 1: going climbing up the mountain to that yodler homey you
- 14:52Speaker 1: know it is coming back down the other side of
- 14:54Speaker 1: the mountain. So I would say clubbing at twenty five
- 14:58Speaker 1: starts to get less cool twenty six, more so less
- 15:01Speaker 1: twenty seven. If you're like thirty three and you're in
- 15:04Speaker 1: the club, I get why women are not attracted to that.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Weed is next, and I think that's probably if that
- 15:11Speaker 1: is your identity. There are people that we know that
- 15:15Speaker 1: make weed a massive part of their identity. That's what
- 15:17Speaker 1: they're known for. So I would say weed funko makes
- 15:22Speaker 1: the list. I don't know what that is. I have
- 15:24Speaker 1: funko pops. I have a few of them. I have
- 15:28Speaker 1: six behind me right now. Three signed by Chris Stapleton,
- 15:31Speaker 1: three signed by Dolly Parton, and they were both very
- 15:34Speaker 1: nice to sign them because I use them to auction
- 15:37Speaker 1: off or give as part of any sort of charity
- 15:39Speaker 1: initiative that I do. Not any but some. But I
- 15:42Speaker 1: bought them on eBay, the Christapleton or the Dolly Parton,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and then I just went to them more like hey,
- 15:48Speaker 1: will you sign this, and blindly they were like yeah, sure.
- 15:51Speaker 1: So I get the funkos. I have a Dan Marino
- 15:53Speaker 1: funko pop. But is that a culture? Is funko a culture?
- 15:59Speaker 1: If so? I don't know want in funko culture. I
- 16:01Speaker 1: just know people who have the occasional funko pop. I've
- 16:03Speaker 1: actually got a couple of myself. Two. There are four
- 16:07Speaker 1: left arguing online at twelve point three percent. My assumption
- 16:13Speaker 1: is that means people that are weirdos and freakos on
- 16:16Speaker 1: Reddit and just get on and troll people. Porn. Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 1: The thing about porn as a least attractive hobby is
- 16:29Speaker 1: most dudes who are into it don't share their into it,
- 16:34Speaker 1: which I think is why it's not higher on the list.
- 16:36Speaker 1: I think it'd be number one if more dudes are like, yeah,
- 16:40Speaker 1: I'm gonna be honest, this is how much I'm into it.
- 16:43Speaker 1: But because most dudes are kind of ashamed of it,
- 16:46Speaker 1: it's way down the list. Gambling and I'm not sure
- 16:51Speaker 1: what number one on Let's see one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen,
- 16:56Speaker 1: and number fifteen. It's gambling, and again I think this
- 17:01Speaker 1: is one two that for the most part, people who
- 17:03Speaker 1: gamble a lot don't often share how much they actually gamble.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I feel like I have a very healthy relationship with it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: You know. One of the major sponsors over the past
- 17:15Speaker 1: couple of years of twenty five Whistles has been DraftKings,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and I haven't. I know that if I get too
- 17:23Speaker 1: wrapped up in it, I will become completely consumed with it,
- 17:26Speaker 1: just like anything else, not even that it's just gambling.
- 17:28Speaker 1: But I feel like I have a fun relationship with gambling.
- 17:31Speaker 1: That I don't bet anything that I know I can't lose.
- 17:34Speaker 1: That doesn't mean I like losing. It also doesn't mean
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'm like, well said, how fun was that? Yeah, you
- 17:38Speaker 1: can still get pissed, but it never ruins my day.
- 17:44Speaker 1: And I think at a time I can tell you
- 17:46Speaker 1: back in the day for me two thousand three the
- 17:55Speaker 1: two thousand and eight, I played so much poker, like
- 18:02Speaker 1: hold Them and this is right in the boom as well.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I was reading books. I was so consumed with poker.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Now poker can be anything else that I often get
- 18:12Speaker 1: myself into. I was so consumed with poker that if
- 18:16Speaker 1: I wasn't reading a book on how to figure out
- 18:22Speaker 1: the pod odds, or if I wasn't reading a book
- 18:25Speaker 1: on watching tells on other players or playing against I
- 18:31Speaker 1: was reading books on the biography of Doyle Brunson. You know.
- 18:36Speaker 1: So I was really obsessed. And I was living in Austin,
- 18:40Speaker 1: Texas at the time, and there were these home games,
- 18:43Speaker 1: and so you would go and at the front door
- 18:46Speaker 1: you would buy your chips. They'd give you chips, and
- 18:48Speaker 1: it was mostly tournament play. They weren't cash games. I
- 18:51Speaker 1: rarely played in any cash games. I liked tournament play
- 18:54Speaker 1: because everybody started off equal on Once you were out,
- 18:56Speaker 1: you were out. It wasn't just to make a show
- 18:58Speaker 1: up with a bunch of money and I would lose
- 18:59Speaker 1: a bunch of money. Or if you played with in
- 19:02Speaker 1: cash games, why I don't like them for the most
- 19:04Speaker 1: part is people with more cash can just bully other people.
- 19:07Speaker 1: And if you're a good enough player, that doesn't matter.
- 19:08Speaker 1: But I wasn't a good enough player. I was a
- 19:10Speaker 1: pretty good player. I wasn't a good enough player. So
- 19:13Speaker 1: I liked tournament play. Everybody was equal. There'd be twenty
- 19:17Speaker 1: four people, eighteen people. We'd go in. We'd give them
- 19:19Speaker 1: two hundred fifty bucks or something, and then we'd play
- 19:21Speaker 1: our tournament. They give you a little deal. And sometimes
- 19:23Speaker 1: down in the basement, sometimes you're playing like in a
- 19:26Speaker 1: I really wasn't. There weren't many basements in Texas. In
- 19:29Speaker 1: different parts of the house. You'd be playing in different
- 19:32Speaker 1: rooms and So there were a couple instances where we
- 19:35Speaker 1: were playing in a basement or like a shed area,
- 19:39Speaker 1: but people would be in all these different rooms and
- 19:43Speaker 1: I probably played nine to twelve of those. Go to
- 19:50Speaker 1: somebody's house. You never know the person, it's always you're
- 19:54Speaker 1: in this small group. So the word got around, you know,
- 19:56Speaker 1: next Tuesday, we're going to be at this house. The
- 19:59Speaker 1: next Wednesday after that that will be at this house.
- 20:00Speaker 1: And it was almost never. I think only once or
- 20:02Speaker 1: twice I ever played the same house twice because people
- 20:04Speaker 1: didn't want to get busted for doing it. And why
- 20:06Speaker 1: it was illegal is because the house took a cut.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Just like Vegas, the house took a cut, and that's
- 20:13Speaker 1: what made it illegal. You can play poker with your
- 20:15Speaker 1: buddies and gamble if the house isn't taken a cut.
- 20:18Speaker 1: So we'd play, and I played a bunch and I
- 20:20Speaker 1: probably broke even maybe we came ahead a little bit.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I didn't keep a spreadsheet really, but I remember there
- 20:27Speaker 1: was a game I was going to one night. I
- 20:29Speaker 1: ended up not going and that game got robbed and
- 20:33Speaker 1: they made everybody take up all their clothes, so I
- 20:36Speaker 1: think everybody's butt naked and they robbed the place. Nobody
- 20:39Speaker 1: got shot. But that's when I was like, I'm not
- 20:41Speaker 1: doing house games anymore. So I started flying to Las Vegas,
- 20:44Speaker 1: and that was Lunchbox and I on a Southwest flight
- 20:47Speaker 1: about two times a month, and we'd finished the show
- 20:50Speaker 1: on a Friday morning and we'd fly to Vegas and
- 20:52Speaker 1: since we got that time back flying over for the
- 20:55Speaker 1: most part, we'd get there around two PM. I'd play
- 20:59Speaker 1: poker until Sunday mid afternoon, sleep on the plane, fly
- 21:03Speaker 1: back home, go back to work on Monday. And I
- 21:06Speaker 1: did Okay, I don't think I lost a whole bunch tour.
- 21:09Speaker 1: I was like, ah, I also don't think I won
- 21:11Speaker 1: a whole bunch. I did win an entire tournament one
- 21:14Speaker 1: time for tens of thousands of dollars, like won the
- 21:17Speaker 1: whole freaking thing, which, by the way, if you're a
- 21:19Speaker 1: poker player, you know the goal is always to win
- 21:21Speaker 1: the tournament, but it's really just to get in the
- 21:25Speaker 1: money and go as far as you can, because you
- 21:27Speaker 1: do need some very fortunate things to happen, even if
- 21:29Speaker 1: you're playing awesome. But that's what happened. I played a
- 21:32Speaker 1: whole tournament Treasure Island, which they may have torn that
- 21:35Speaker 1: because you know down now it's one of the big
- 21:36Speaker 1: boat in front of it. Yeah, I'm not sure, but
- 21:40Speaker 1: I remember Lunchblocks coming over and it was like noon
- 21:46Speaker 1: when I started, and him being there at like ten
- 21:49Speaker 1: thirty pm because he was going into the club, and
- 21:52Speaker 1: then him at the end of the night at like
- 21:55Speaker 1: four am coming out and I'm still playing. I was
- 21:56Speaker 1: down to like three people. I won the whole freaking thing.
- 21:58Speaker 1: It was awesome, but I got a little too obsessed
- 22:02Speaker 1: with poker. It wasn't so much the gambling part of it.
- 22:07Speaker 1: It was the competition part of it. And I will
- 22:11Speaker 1: bet on college football. Feel like I'm much better college football,
- 22:16Speaker 1: but I never bet so much that it will absolutely
- 22:18Speaker 1: ruin my day. Now sports will run my day. If
- 22:22Speaker 1: Arkansas loses a game they're supposed to win, it will
- 22:24Speaker 1: for sure ruin my day. That sucks. But yeah, gambling
- 22:29Speaker 1: is way down. But I'm gonna say for the same
- 22:30Speaker 1: reason that poorn is way down. I would imagine that
- 22:33Speaker 1: most dudes that are gambling aren't telling their ladies how
- 22:36Speaker 1: much they're actually gambling, or not even their ladies, but
- 22:40Speaker 1: the lady they may be dating a little bit, they're
- 22:42Speaker 1: not they're not actually sharing how much they're dating, or
- 22:44Speaker 1: I think women would be a lot more disgusted with them.
- 22:46Speaker 1: But also women can gamble to it. I'm just going
- 22:48Speaker 1: from this and the last one is Manosphere. I don't
- 22:53Speaker 1: know what that is, so I'm gonna have to google that.
- 22:56Speaker 1: What is manosphere? As far as a hobby is concerned?
- 23:06Speaker 1: All right? Google says the Manisphere isn't a hobby in
- 23:09Speaker 1: the traditional sense, like woodworking or magic the gathering. It's
- 23:13Speaker 1: more of a loose network of online communities focused on
- 23:15Speaker 1: men's issues, masculinity, and gender dynamics. That said, some people
- 23:20Speaker 1: treat it like a hobby and how deeply they engage. Oh,
- 23:22Speaker 1: it just like Andrew Tate, like I'll teach you how
- 23:25Speaker 1: to be a real man. I'll teach you how to
- 23:26Speaker 1: be an alpha. Those dudes are so lame. People treat
- 23:32Speaker 1: this and by this videos, reading forums, joining podcasts, debating
- 23:37Speaker 1: topics regularly like a religion. That's funny. I would have
- 23:43Speaker 1: never known that's what the manisphere is. People spend hours
- 23:46Speaker 1: consuming and discussing Manisphere content. They follow thought leaders Andrew Tate,
- 23:51Speaker 1: Jordan Peterson, et cetera. Some see it as part of
- 23:54Speaker 1: a self improvement lifestyle. Others engage in it for entertainment, debate,
- 23:57Speaker 1: or community subgenres. Red Pill focuses on power dynamics and
- 24:05Speaker 1: dating mgtow men going their own way, rejecting romantic relationships entirely,
- 24:13Speaker 1: PUA or PUA pickup artist dating strategies, and then men's
- 24:18Speaker 1: self help, confidence, money lifting, life skills. See, I have
- 24:24Speaker 1: no problem if it's about health and wellness. It's just
- 24:27Speaker 1: this is me speaking here, not me reading from Google.
- 24:29Speaker 1: It's just some of these are so toxic and a
- 24:33Speaker 1: lot of these guys that try to prove how masculine
- 24:35Speaker 1: they are, and they want to prove to you how
- 24:36Speaker 1: they can get any woman. They're actually gay, and this
- 24:39Speaker 1: is how they're making up for it or trying to
- 24:41Speaker 1: prove they're not. And there's so much misogyny in this.
- 24:48Speaker 1: It's like the And I'm not somebody who's gonna scream
- 24:50Speaker 1: toxic masculinity all the time, but there is a such thing,
- 24:54Speaker 1: and a lot of that happens here. A lot of
- 24:55Speaker 1: conspiracy theories too. So I didn't know what this was,
- 25:00Speaker 1: but I think I'm kind of passionate about it now.
- 25:01Speaker 1: It is important to separate the constructive parts like self
- 25:04Speaker 1: improvement from the darker corners. So as a hobby, I
- 25:11Speaker 1: guess it's just dudes trying to be more dude. Like dude.
- 25:14Speaker 1: That's wild. That's called manisphear. That's a pretty lame name
- 25:17Speaker 1: for something. But the whole point is not to be lame, right,
- 25:22Speaker 1: manis fhear? That's funny. I'm gonna answer this poll here.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I had this sent to me in basketball. Who is
- 25:32Speaker 1: the greatest NBA player of all time? My answer is
- 25:36Speaker 1: Lebron James. Even though I saw Michael Jordan. Why Lebron
- 25:42Speaker 1: and I had no time to go through and put
- 25:44Speaker 1: answers on this. I'm going to answer them off just
- 25:46Speaker 1: whatever comes to mind. I think people don't credit longevity,
- 25:53Speaker 1: and I don't think it should only be credited by itself,
- 25:55Speaker 1: But people don't credit longevity. Lebron's like eighty three. Now
- 25:58Speaker 1: I was forty. But he has played for so long
- 26:02Speaker 1: at such a high level. I think he was second
- 26:04Speaker 1: team All NBA this last season, second team or third
- 26:07Speaker 1: team at forty years old. Also, he can play point,
- 26:11Speaker 1: he can also play the five. Also, his competition's better. Now,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm not somebody who's gonna say You're so wrong if
- 26:19Speaker 1: you pick Michael Jordan. Because I understand most people feel
- 26:23Speaker 1: that way. I do think if I were getting to
- 26:25Speaker 1: draft one player of all time, I would go Lebron first,
- 26:31Speaker 1: because again, he can play all positions, he plays point go,
- 26:35Speaker 1: he is so large, he's Magic size, but more versatile
- 26:40Speaker 1: than Magic was. So I'm gonna go Lebron first. Michael
- 26:44Speaker 1: Jordan's second. I know Kobe is the answer for three,
- 26:53Speaker 1: but I may go Steph at three, Kobe at four,
- 26:57Speaker 1: Kareem at five. A lot of freaking Lakers there. Number two. Oh,
- 27:02Speaker 1: that's interesting. Steph Curry or Magic Johnson, who's the better
- 27:05Speaker 1: point guard? I'm gonna go Steph because I think Magic
- 27:09Speaker 1: wasn't really a traditional point guard. He did a lot
- 27:11Speaker 1: of great, awesome point guard things, and he was so
- 27:13Speaker 1: large as a point guard, which made it really hard
- 27:16Speaker 1: to put another point guard on him guarding him because
- 27:18Speaker 1: he can then just post him up. But I'm gonna
- 27:20Speaker 1: go Steph. I've watched more Steph. I think that's probably
- 27:25Speaker 1: the real reason I think recency biased because Steph is
- 27:31Speaker 1: still playing right now. Magic changed the game, for sure,
- 27:34Speaker 1: but Steph. Steph completely changed the NBA everybody's upset at
- 27:38Speaker 1: the NBA because everybody shoots threes all the time. That's
- 27:40Speaker 1: that's that's Steph. If you could build a team around
- 27:44Speaker 1: one NBA player today, who are you picking? Great question?
- 27:51Speaker 1: Probably Yannis, mmmm, Jokic, one of those two, one of
- 28:00Speaker 1: those non Americans. They're young enough, you're gonna get another
- 28:06Speaker 1: decade out of them, probably, and they're so dominant. I'm
- 28:10Speaker 1: probably gonna go Yokicic, No, I don't know, Okay, I'll
- 28:14Speaker 1: go Yokich then Yannis in that order. Best dunker in
- 28:19Speaker 1: NBA history. This is my last basketball one. A friend
- 28:22Speaker 1: sent me these and there's four in four different categories,
- 28:25Speaker 1: so I'm gonna read these here. I'm on vacation. There's
- 28:28Speaker 1: no content coming out right now. I'm gonna be honest
- 28:30Speaker 1: with you. I sat down to do this podcast because
- 28:33Speaker 1: as I was looking through the podcast that I was
- 28:34Speaker 1: listening to that I always listen to, because I definitely
- 28:36Speaker 1: have a series in a formula of what I listened
- 28:38Speaker 1: to on what days, if it's Bill Simmons or Rosillo
- 28:43Speaker 1: or mostly sports or pardon my take, like I know
- 28:48Speaker 1: what days they come out, or macro dosing like I
- 28:53Speaker 1: love those podcasts. I know what days they come out,
- 28:55Speaker 1: and now that it's the fourth July week and everybody's
- 28:57Speaker 1: like often to the best of it's really thrown me
- 28:59Speaker 1: for a So I came down here to the microphone
- 29:02Speaker 1: and I was just gonna do that one segment and
- 29:03Speaker 1: maybe attach it to something in a show next week.
- 29:07Speaker 1: But as I was doing it, I started to realize,
- 29:09Speaker 1: maybe people are listening to this who are also upset
- 29:13Speaker 1: they're not getting new content. So I'll just go ahead
- 29:15Speaker 1: and do an episode here. I don't know if it's
- 29:16Speaker 1: gonna be an hour. I think we're thirty minutes in now,
- 29:19Speaker 1: but I'll answer these questions foreign football. Who is the
- 29:24Speaker 1: greatest NFL quarterback of all time? The answer has to
- 29:28Speaker 1: be Tom Brady, I feel because of the rings, so
- 29:34Speaker 1: I think that's the answer. And I think that's a
- 29:36Speaker 1: bit unfair to say, because I didn't do that with
- 29:40Speaker 1: Michael Jordan Lebron, so it's a bit hypocritical. But I'm
- 29:44Speaker 1: still gonna say Tom Brady. If you were to say,
- 29:47Speaker 1: in a vacuum, you pick a single quarterback and they're
- 29:50Speaker 1: your quarterback, I'm picking Peyton Manny. But Tom Brady is
- 29:56Speaker 1: the greatest quarterback of all time. Tom Brady won with
- 30:01Speaker 1: a different set of characters, like he made people great
- 30:03Speaker 1: and I think it was nineteen ninety one Michael Jordan
- 30:05Speaker 1: won his first title and it wasn't no Scottie Pippen
- 30:07Speaker 1: got there, Like I don't think he ever won a
- 30:08Speaker 1: title without Pippin where Brady did win a championship without
- 30:14Speaker 1: insert whomever. But again, it's hypocritical me to say that.
- 30:19Speaker 1: But yeah, I'm gonna go. I'll go Brady the best
- 30:23Speaker 1: college football program of all time. Alabama sucks. It sucks
- 30:34Speaker 1: being an Arkansas fan right now. Not that it's been
- 30:38Speaker 1: the greatest Easter basket ever because we don't win. I've
- 30:42Speaker 1: never seen a football national championship. I've seen us get
- 30:47Speaker 1: close ninety nine. Had do we not fumbled, we would
- 30:51Speaker 1: have beat Tennessee, been undefeated going into the last game
- 30:53Speaker 1: of the year, won that we'd have been playing for
- 30:54Speaker 1: national championship. Yeah, but I've not seen a whole lot
- 31:00Speaker 1: of awesome Arkansas seasons. When Bobby Petrino was our head coach,
- 31:03Speaker 1: we had a few really really great seasons in a row,
- 31:05Speaker 1: and that was the greatest time to be an Arkansas fan.
- 31:08Speaker 1: And it was amazing and then the whole motorcycle wreck.
- 31:15Speaker 1: So it's tough for me to pick a different program,
- 31:17Speaker 1: especially one that's close in proximity, especially one that has
- 31:20Speaker 1: the same letter A, especially one that is close to
- 31:25Speaker 1: being the same color. But Alabama's Bear Bryant is an
- 31:31Speaker 1: Arkansas native born and raised in Arkansas. Gotta love that.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So I'm gonna go Alabama because being from the South,
- 31:39Speaker 1: they are the greatest traditional southern college wall powerhouse. And
- 31:46Speaker 1: I think probably you have to look like Michigan these
- 31:48Speaker 1: other schools, But I'm going to go with Alabama as
- 31:50Speaker 1: the greatest college football program of all time. And I
- 31:53Speaker 1: think a lot of that is geography bias, or at
- 31:56Speaker 1: least some of it. Who's the greatest running back ever? Man?
- 32:05Speaker 1: The Barry Sanders stuff is so legit, but he never
- 32:06Speaker 1: played on a winning team and he was having to survive.
- 32:09Speaker 1: It was like he was swimming to save his life
- 32:14Speaker 1: every time he got the ball. I wonder how good
- 32:16Speaker 1: he would have been because I didn't watch him play
- 32:19Speaker 1: at Oklahoma State. Think about that, him and Thurman Thomas
- 32:22Speaker 1: on the same team. I didn't get to watch him
- 32:24Speaker 1: play with like a functioning offensive line. Also, I was young.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Even when he was awesome, all I got to watch
- 32:33Speaker 1: him do was scatter and try to get yards. I
- 32:37Speaker 1: wonder how good he would have been if he could
- 32:39Speaker 1: just run pretty much downhill, or at least kind of downhill,
- 32:42Speaker 1: and not left right, left, right, left, right, left right,
- 32:44Speaker 1: now go forward. So I'll probably go Barry Sanders, but
- 32:48Speaker 1: I think Ladanian Tomlinson's in the mix. I'm not gonna
- 32:52Speaker 1: put Emmett Smith in, although statistically he does have a
- 32:56Speaker 1: lot of the records. But man, I think that was
- 32:58Speaker 1: just a great team with a rate offensive line. But
- 33:01Speaker 1: it's hard you're comparing decades. But I'll go Barry Sanders
- 33:06Speaker 1: and LT. By the way, I have the right to
- 33:07Speaker 1: change my mind in any of this because I don't
- 33:09Speaker 1: even read these questions until I pulled this up. Finally,
- 33:13Speaker 1: in football, if you had to pick one NFL quarterback
- 33:15Speaker 1: to win a game today, who is it? It's Patrick Mahomes,
- 33:18Speaker 1: no doubt about it. It's possibly the easiest question. It's
- 33:22Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes. Although I did just watch sped up the
- 33:27Speaker 1: AFC Championship game between Mahomes and Brady when Brady ends
- 33:31Speaker 1: up beating Mahomes and Mahomes scores a touchdown with like
- 33:35Speaker 1: I don't know a minute left, and Brady ends up
- 33:37Speaker 1: driving down and it's pretty awesome to watch those two
- 33:39Speaker 1: guys go out it. But yeah, so it's easily mahomes
- 33:42Speaker 1: now all right for baseball? And then four pop culture.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Best hitter in Major League Baseball history. I'm going to
- 33:50Speaker 1: go with Tony Gwinn only because the hitters that I
- 33:56Speaker 1: like the most like Tony Gwinn the most. He's my
- 34:00Speaker 1: favorite hitter's favorite hitter. And I think he was the
- 34:04Speaker 1: last guy to really give four hundred a look. He
- 34:06Speaker 1: didn't hit it, but was really the last guy to
- 34:08Speaker 1: give four hundred the foreigner batting it, which, by the way,
- 34:10Speaker 1: hadn't been done and still hasn't been done since Ted
- 34:13Speaker 1: Williams did it way back in the day. And I
- 34:16Speaker 1: think Ted Williams, And again I'm going for memory, no
- 34:17Speaker 1: research here. I'm pretty certain Ted Williams could have set
- 34:21Speaker 1: out the last game and had four hundred, but he
- 34:23Speaker 1: decided to go it bad anyway. So I'm gonna go
- 34:26Speaker 1: Tony Gwinn as the greatest hitter of all time. Should
- 34:30Speaker 1: steroid era players be allowed in the Hall of Fame? Yes,
- 34:37Speaker 1: because you've allowed some, but you're going to not allow others.
- 34:43Speaker 1: For me, I think that's probably the most problematic thing
- 34:47Speaker 1: about not allowing something. There are some Hall of Famers
- 34:51Speaker 1: from that Maguire, Sosa, Barry Bonds era, Clemens. Like you're
- 35:01Speaker 1: talking about pitchers, we're using them as well. And when
- 35:04Speaker 1: I say steroids, I'm talking about performance enhancing drugs, not
- 35:08Speaker 1: just drugs that make you look jacked, but drugs that
- 35:12Speaker 1: allow you to heal faster from an injury. Right, any
- 35:15Speaker 1: of that's performing or a performance enhancing So I think
- 35:20Speaker 1: players should be compared against other players. Also, you've let
- 35:24Speaker 1: players in that were on steroids, probably without even knowing
- 35:27Speaker 1: they were on steroids. So unless you did a steroid
- 35:29Speaker 1: check on every player, I think players should be compared
- 35:34Speaker 1: to the other players they played against. And does that
- 35:36Speaker 1: suck for the players that didn't do steroids, Yeah for sure.
- 35:38Speaker 1: But do I think they should be allowed in the
- 35:40Speaker 1: Hall of Fame? Yeah? I do. If you had to
- 35:44Speaker 1: pick one DH for a game, Ortiz, Bonds, a Rod
- 35:49Speaker 1: or somewhere else or someone else, I think Barry Bonds
- 35:51Speaker 1: is the most dominant player I've ever seen in a sport. Now,
- 35:55Speaker 1: I think Otani's probably creeping up now. Otani threw one
- 35:58Speaker 1: hundred and two. The other day he pitched two innings.
- 36:01Speaker 1: I think he do three pitches over one hundred miles
- 36:03Speaker 1: an hour. So Otani is doing what we've never seen before.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I don't think Otani is quite the hitter of Barry
- 36:13Speaker 1: Bonds is because Barry Barry Bonds, to me, he is
- 36:15Speaker 1: the greatest hitter of all time. As far as hitting
- 36:19Speaker 1: home runs with average, I think Tony wins the greatest
- 36:21Speaker 1: hitter of all time because you just didn't strike him
- 36:24Speaker 1: out and his average was way up there. But if
- 36:26Speaker 1: we're also saying power slugging bass hits, walks, they walked
- 36:36Speaker 1: Bonds as much as they threw to him. But I
- 36:38Speaker 1: think Otani could end up taking over Bonds. I do
- 36:42Speaker 1: think Bonds is the most dominant player I've ever seen
- 36:45Speaker 1: in his sports. I think Bonds, and I've said it before,
- 36:47Speaker 1: it was controversial, nobody agreed with me, but I think
- 36:50Speaker 1: Bonds was a better baseball player than Michael Jordan was
- 36:53Speaker 1: a basketball player. Boom Final Baseball one. What's the most
- 37:00Speaker 1: exciting World series you remember watching? That's easy is twenty
- 37:04Speaker 1: sixteen Chicago Cubs. Cubs fan my whole life, Arkansas, Keith
- 37:10Speaker 1: dihired Cubs fan. I was a Cubs fan from eight
- 37:14Speaker 1: years old, and I used to watch every game. I
- 37:17Speaker 1: think one year I watched like one hundred and fifty
- 37:19Speaker 1: three of one hundred and sixty two games. I never
- 37:22Speaker 1: won all one sixty two. I don't think they ever
- 37:24Speaker 1: showed all one sixty two, even though WGN did show most,
- 37:28Speaker 1: if not all, and they had a bunch of games
- 37:31Speaker 1: in the day. They used to not have night games
- 37:32Speaker 1: at Wrigley Field, which was crazy. They didn't have lights
- 37:34Speaker 1: there like in my lifetime. They didn't have lights at
- 37:37Speaker 1: Wrigley And I remember the game that the first ever
- 37:40Speaker 1: night game. I remember watching it. I remember Steve Young singing,
- 37:43Speaker 1: Steve Young the announcer, singing like yeah, like a tuxedo on.
- 37:48Speaker 1: He was singing on WGN because it was a night game.
- 37:51Speaker 1: It was like this, like the freaking Grammys. But I'm
- 37:55Speaker 1: a Cubs fan my whole life, right from the days
- 37:57Speaker 1: of Damon Barry Hill, Joe g' already catching Mark Grace
- 38:00Speaker 1: at first, Ryan Sandberg is second, John Dunstan a short stop,
- 38:05Speaker 1: I mean, third baseman. Go all the way back to
- 38:08Speaker 1: Vance Law in the outfield Dawson and right. I mean,
- 38:12Speaker 1: you could do pal Merrow and left if you want,
- 38:15Speaker 1: or you could do even like the center fielder. When
- 38:17Speaker 1: they had the Rookie of the Year and the second
- 38:21Speaker 1: place to Rookie of the Year, which was Jome Walton,
- 38:23Speaker 1: Dwight Smith, all the guys from ZBRONO. My favorite player
- 38:27Speaker 1: of was Mark Grace. So all that said, I was
- 38:30Speaker 1: very invested in the Cubs. And twenty sixteen went to
- 38:33Speaker 1: the World Series and I went to Game two and
- 38:36Speaker 1: watched the Cubs loose to Cleveland, and when it was
- 38:40Speaker 1: Game seven, and again you don't know a Game seven
- 38:44Speaker 1: is going to happen. But the CMAS had invited me
- 38:49Speaker 1: to present for the first time, and I believe that
- 38:52Speaker 1: was on CBS. I maybe get him my networks wrong,
- 38:54Speaker 1: but I don't think I am no, maybe it was ABC.
- 38:59Speaker 1: I don't know, changed so that doesn't matter the network.
- 39:02Speaker 1: But the CMAS had finally asked me to be a
- 39:04Speaker 1: part of their they're broadcast, to become present an award.
- 39:09Speaker 1: And for me, you know, I'd been in town four
- 39:12Speaker 1: years and my television curb really hadn't started to the
- 39:16Speaker 1: point where it got and so I was super honored,
- 39:19Speaker 1: and I was like, for sure, it was a big
- 39:21Speaker 1: deal for me to get on the CMAS and to
- 39:23Speaker 1: go up on national television and present an award. And
- 39:26Speaker 1: they asked me like weeks and weeks out and I
- 39:28Speaker 1: had to a few days before the show say I'm
- 39:32Speaker 1: really sorry, I am not going to be able to
- 39:34Speaker 1: be there, and they were like why. I was like,
- 39:37Speaker 1: because the Cubs are in the World Series Game seven,
- 39:39Speaker 1: and my whole life I've been Chicago Cubs fan. I'm
- 39:41Speaker 1: not going to miss it. And people looked at me
- 39:44Speaker 1: like I had two heads, but I was not going
- 39:46Speaker 1: to miss it. Like there were people just take a
- 39:49Speaker 1: half step back. The Cubs hadn't won a World Series
- 39:52Speaker 1: since nineteen oh eight. Before that that, I've been to
- 39:55Speaker 1: a World Series since nineteen forty five, Right, So you're
- 39:59Speaker 1: talking about history history that there were people who lived
- 40:02Speaker 1: an entire life and live to be old and died
- 40:05Speaker 1: and never saw the Cubs win a World Series or
- 40:09Speaker 1: heck even go if you were born in forty six
- 40:14Speaker 1: but you had died before sixteen, you never even got
- 40:17Speaker 1: to see him being a World Series. So I felt
- 40:19Speaker 1: like as a real fan, for me, that was the
- 40:21Speaker 1: most important thing to do was to watch that game
- 40:24Speaker 1: and then the rain delay hit and then the Cubs won.
- 40:27Speaker 1: It was awesome. It was awesome. So for me, that's
- 40:30Speaker 1: the greatest World Series ever because that one was so
- 40:32Speaker 1: personal to me. But what I really hope too, is
- 40:35Speaker 1: that I don't end up being that Cubs fan that
- 40:38Speaker 1: never got to see a championship with Arkansas football because
- 40:43Speaker 1: I don't feel like now we have the ability to
- 40:45Speaker 1: win a national championship. I don't feel like from athletic
- 40:49Speaker 1: director down, I don't feel like we're there because we
- 40:52Speaker 1: don't have money pouring in. That sucks. All right, Four
- 40:59Speaker 1: final questions here. These are pop culture debate style questions.
- 41:04Speaker 1: Here we go, what's the best sports video game athlete ever? Oh, okay,
- 41:11Speaker 1: this video game ever? But athlete man Bo Jackson and
- 41:17Speaker 1: Christian Okoye were pretty tough and techmobile back in the day,
- 41:21Speaker 1: and now I never actually had tech Mobile. Scotty, my
- 41:24Speaker 1: neighbor had a Nintendo. We couldn't afford a Nintendo, but
- 41:27Speaker 1: he had a Nintendo, and so I'll try to go
- 41:29Speaker 1: to over to his house and play Techmobile, or I
- 41:32Speaker 1: would get on his Commodore sixty four and play Yahoo Chess.
- 41:37Speaker 1: But if you could get the Raiders with Bo Jackson
- 41:40Speaker 1: or the Chiefs with Christian Okoye, pretty tough to stop.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Mike Tyson was pretty strong and punch out as well.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Shaq An NBA Jam pretty tough, but Shaq was on
- 41:54Speaker 1: Orlando if I'm correct again, I just opened these questions,
- 41:58Speaker 1: so I could be wrong. I think it was maybe
- 41:59Speaker 1: Shack and Penny. I don't know. Next up, most likable
- 42:04Speaker 1: athlete of all time three questions left. Probably Steph, especially
- 42:11Speaker 1: in the era of when we know about people because
- 42:13Speaker 1: of their social media and because there are phones everywhere.
- 42:18Speaker 1: I think there were very likable athletes back in the
- 42:21Speaker 1: day because we didn't know enough about them except for
- 42:23Speaker 1: what the magazines of the newspapers or the television shows like.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I think the Bash Brothers were super cool. As a kid,
- 42:28Speaker 1: Jose can say, call mart maguire. I didn't like the A's,
- 42:30Speaker 1: but I thought they were cool because I could hit
- 42:31Speaker 1: home runs, they had gigantic arms. They're very likable because
- 42:36Speaker 1: you only saw what they wanted you to see. But
- 42:40Speaker 1: in the age of knowing about an athlete, I think
- 42:42Speaker 1: it's probably gonna be Steph. If you don't like Steph,
- 42:47Speaker 1: you just don't like yourself as a person. Now you
- 42:50Speaker 1: cannot like what he's done to the NBA because it's
- 42:52Speaker 1: all threes all the time. But that's not like a
- 42:54Speaker 1: Steph problem. Like Steph seems like the nice I never
- 42:57Speaker 1: met Steph, but step seems like the nicest guy. So
- 43:01Speaker 1: I'm going to go Steph Curry most annoying fan base
- 43:05Speaker 1: in sports. I actually just did this on the episode
- 43:08Speaker 1: last week where I have at number one Kentucky basketball. Yeah,
- 43:14Speaker 1: so I'll do that. And then finally, if you could
- 43:20Speaker 1: bring one athlete back in their prime to play today,
- 43:23Speaker 1: who is it. I think it's probably And again this
- 43:29Speaker 1: could be a super recency bias because I just talked
- 43:33Speaker 1: about him. I remember Bo Jackson playing as a kid.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I remember the whole Bow Knows and Bo Didley the
- 43:38Speaker 1: guitar player, and Bo knows this, Bo knows that. And
- 43:42Speaker 1: there's the card where in the poster where Bo has
- 43:45Speaker 1: on shoulder pads and he has the bat over his
- 43:47Speaker 1: shoulders at the same time, and Bo Jackson was in
- 43:50Speaker 1: the home run derby Major League Baseball, which is super cool,
- 43:53Speaker 1: like he was that dude, and he was dominant at
- 43:57Speaker 1: two sports baseball, And there's a really cool video of him.
- 44:02Speaker 1: I think bo Jackson's like coaching with the White Sox
- 44:06Speaker 1: and there's another player and his son, and bo Jackson
- 44:09Speaker 1: was like, yeah, it was pretty good back in the day,
- 44:10Speaker 1: and the kid has no idea because the kid's like
- 44:12Speaker 1: ten years old. It's a cool video on TikTok. But
- 44:14Speaker 1: bo Jackson was so dominant, and I believe they were
- 44:18Speaker 1: playing the Bengals when he blew his hip out and
- 44:21Speaker 1: then he was never the same after that. I would
- 44:23Speaker 1: love to see Bo Jackson back in his prime uninjured,
- 44:28Speaker 1: because I think he's probably one of the greatest athletes ever.
- 44:33Speaker 1: But again that's a lot of me talking from what
- 44:37Speaker 1: I've been able to see in my life. I think
- 44:39Speaker 1: if you were to asked somebody who was like sixty,
- 44:41Speaker 1: they might say Mickey Mantle because he was so freaking
- 44:44Speaker 1: dominant at playing baseball. Now he didn't play both sports,
- 44:47Speaker 1: and I think Deon Sanders is another example of somebody.
- 44:51Speaker 1: But I think Dion was way ahead of his time.
- 44:54Speaker 1: I think there are other guys like Dion now they're
- 44:57Speaker 1: extremely athletic that could probably it's tough to say play
- 45:03Speaker 1: two sports, but if they would have focused on that,
- 45:05Speaker 1: probably I mean not that Dion wasn't like the one
- 45:08Speaker 1: percent of professional athletes, but like Bo Jackson was different
- 45:12Speaker 1: because he was that fast, but he was so much
- 45:14Speaker 1: bigger and thicker and stronger, yet he was still running
- 45:18Speaker 1: four to two. There are reports of a four to
- 45:24Speaker 1: bo Jackson, and again that's all handheld timer, no laser timers,
- 45:29Speaker 1: So I'm probably gonna go bo Jackson on that, and
- 45:34Speaker 1: that's it. I was watching this video, though, I'll end
- 45:38Speaker 1: on this of all of these either police officers or
- 45:46Speaker 1: people in the military who were getting tased, because you
- 45:49Speaker 1: can't officially have a taser if you don't know what
- 45:53Speaker 1: one feels like. And so it's just one person after another,
- 45:57Speaker 1: and a lot of them they're in there fatigue, They're
- 46:00Speaker 1: in there a ppleaching a form and two people are
- 46:01Speaker 1: holding them, one on each side, and it's like fifteen
- 46:04Speaker 1: to these in a row, and it's them just getting
- 46:06Speaker 1: taste because they have to feel it before they can
- 46:07Speaker 1: use it. That's always what I was told. That's always
- 46:10Speaker 1: why people had to do the pepper spray for my
- 46:12Speaker 1: friends that were in law enforcement, was that if they're
- 46:15Speaker 1: going to hold and spray some pepper spray, they have
- 46:16Speaker 1: to know what it feels like before they can actually
- 46:18Speaker 1: put it on other people. So I'm gonna play you
- 46:20Speaker 1: on this video of people just getting tased. That's military.
- 46:29Speaker 1: Is there's a bad word there, Sorry about that. That's police.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Here's military. Take the taser. That's a big there too.
- 46:42Speaker 1: That dude's like six foot five military military. She is
- 46:54Speaker 1: taking it like a no sound, no sound, she's looking
- 46:58Speaker 1: at it. She took that taser and she just looked
- 47:00Speaker 1: and she just stared and she's like, is that all
- 47:01Speaker 1: you got? Is that all you got? Now? When it
- 47:03Speaker 1: was over, she was like, whoa man, she crushed it.
- 47:07Speaker 1: I'll give you a few more. Here's police, please please,
- 47:25Speaker 1: I'd be peeing all over myself. Please. Oh he looks
- 47:33Speaker 1: like eat a sour lemon, please. Military dude. I watched it.
- 47:47Speaker 1: It's like a two minute video. I watched that thing
- 47:50Speaker 1: and they just got popped. All right, that's it. Thank
- 47:54Speaker 1: you guys. If you made it this far, you're a
- 47:56Speaker 1: fifty minute club. All right, we're gonna put this up
- 47:59Speaker 1: on whistles. I know that a lot of the by
- 48:05Speaker 1: Bone Show and the Bobbycast audience doesn't come over to
- 48:07Speaker 1: Whistles because it's mostly just sports. But if you made
- 48:11Speaker 1: it here, maybe some me a message over on Instagram,
- 48:15Speaker 1: say fifty minute club whistles during the break. Because I'm
- 48:18Speaker 1: gonna tell you why I did this. There's nobody here
- 48:20Speaker 1: with me. Had to push all the buttons myself, had
- 48:23Speaker 1: to record it, had send it off, had to do
- 48:24Speaker 1: all the stuff. But I did it because I know
- 48:28Speaker 1: what it's like to be looking for my podcast and
- 48:30Speaker 1: they're not there because of a holiday schedule. And I
- 48:33Speaker 1: hate that, and I hate it so much that I
- 48:36Speaker 1: wanted to for you guys that listen to us. Wanted
- 48:38Speaker 1: you to have something to listen to. All Right. You
- 48:40Speaker 1: guys may pop back, may not. If I do, it,
- 48:44Speaker 1: probably be a Bobby cast or something. But you, guys,
- 48:46Speaker 1: hope you have a great holiday week and we'll be
- 48:48Speaker 1: sure to see you next week, all right? Buy Everybody?
