- 0:02Speaker 0: Welcome to this audio presentation brought to you by the Alliance for
- 0:06Speaker 0: Equality of Blind Canadians.
- 0:10Speaker 0: We are a national member led organization working to make
- 0:14Speaker 0: Canada fair and open for people who are blind, deafblind,
- 0:19Speaker 0: or partially sighted.
- 0:22Speaker 0: Through advocacy, peer support, and community action,
- 0:26Speaker 0: we work together for equal access and full participation.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So thank you everybody for joining me on this trip
- 0:44Speaker 1: through an introduction to podcasts.
- 0:48Speaker 1: And, if everybody could mute, that would be great.
- 0:52Speaker 1: If you're not already muted,
- 0:55Speaker 1: that would be perfect.
- 0:57Speaker 1: So podcasts, what are they?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Well, they're it's like being in
- 1:05Speaker 1: I I kinda think of them as old radio shows because
- 1:09Speaker 1: you can they're they are of all different genres, all
- 1:14Speaker 1: different
- 1:23Speaker 1: probably podcasts out there on every topic that There are probably
- 1:28Speaker 1: podcasts out there on every topic that you can probably
- 1:32Speaker 1: shake a stick at,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and they keep coming.
- 1:36Speaker 1: They keep they there are new ones probably every day
- 1:40Speaker 1: or every month.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Some of them are, you know, discuss some
- 1:46Speaker 1: of them are news related.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Some of them are entertainment related.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Accessible media has a bunch of them.
- 1:54Speaker 1: AEBC has one now called AEBC audio.
- 1:58Speaker 1: And right now, we're using it to focus on
- 2:03Speaker 1: our blog and put some audio versions of our blog entries
- 2:07Speaker 1: out there.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But who knows?
- 2:10Speaker 1: It could it can turn into anything.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Once it's once it's out there, we can do whatever we want
- 2:17Speaker 1: with it.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And podcasts
- 2:22Speaker 1: can be fifteen minutes long.
- 2:26Speaker 1: AppleViz has a podcast, and some of theirs
- 2:30Speaker 1: are you know, some of theirs are an hour, and some of them are
- 2:34Speaker 1: ten minutes.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Some other podcasts I can think of that are blindness related, there's
- 2:40Speaker 1: Icy, ICI, which is David Woodbridge's
- 2:44Speaker 1: podcast on everything tech.
- 2:48Speaker 1: A lot of shows that are on the air, a lot of
- 2:52Speaker 1: even radio
- 2:55Speaker 1: shows that are on the air daily have podcasts.
- 3:01Speaker 1: The sports stations often will have podcasts of
- 3:05Speaker 1: their
- 3:07Speaker 1: various,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I don't know if you wanna announcers, DJs, whatever you wanna call
- 3:13Speaker 1: them, radio personalities.
- 3:17Speaker 1: So there are, you know, there there are podcasts to deal with
- 3:22Speaker 1: just about anything.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And you can search
- 3:26Speaker 1: in any podcast app for
- 3:30Speaker 1: either the name of the show or even just what it is.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Like, what what topic are you looking for?
- 3:36Speaker 1: And it'll come back with a collection that you can then choose from.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And as far as how to get them, there
- 3:46Speaker 1: are separate devices like the Victor Stream, the the
- 3:50Speaker 1: Stream three and I think the Stream two,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you can get podcasts.
- 3:57Speaker 1: The iPhone has Apple Podcasts.
- 4:01Speaker 1: You can there are also other apps for the iPhone, Downcast,
- 4:06Speaker 1: Overcast, Castro.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I just read about another one, and I can't remember what it was called.
- 4:13Speaker 1: But there are just tons of them.
- 4:15Speaker 1: And then Spotify,
- 4:18Speaker 1: which is also known for its music stuff,
- 4:22Speaker 1: but they also host podcasts.
- 4:25Speaker 1: And so you can get you can listen to podcasts through Spotify.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Some podcasts have are posted on YouTube as
- 4:34Speaker 1: well.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So you can search YouTube for and find some of the
- 4:39Speaker 1: podcasts that have been posted there.
- 4:42Speaker 1: They are just everywhere.
- 4:44Speaker 1: There there is always a way to find them.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I would say most of them also have a web presence.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So you can go to Google and search for the name of a podcast,
- 4:57Speaker 1: and you'll find its host.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And you can listen to it on on your PC or on your Mac
- 5:04Speaker 1: through a website.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Most podcasts there there there has to be a host,
- 5:12Speaker 1: and so they start there.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Oh, another one to to check out is Triple Vision, which
- 5:19Speaker 1: is which is basically run by AEBC members even
- 5:24Speaker 1: though it's not an AEBC podcast.
- 5:26Speaker 1: But I think everybody who is on that who who
- 5:30Speaker 1: is in their their team is is an AEBC member pretty
- 5:34Speaker 1: much,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and they have a website.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So like I said, you can find them
- 5:42Speaker 1: where however you want to listen, you can find them.
- 5:48Speaker 1: And before we go anywhere, further, I think I'd like
- 5:52Speaker 1: to do to ask if there are any questions.
- 5:57Speaker 1: And I've gotta say before that that I I
- 6:01Speaker 1: follow a whole bunch of them, so you can follow these podcasts
- 6:05Speaker 1: or subscribe to them.
- 6:07Speaker 1: It depends which app you're using, what the word is, but it's basically
- 6:12Speaker 1: the same.
- 6:13Speaker 1: You can put it into your library, and then you can check out
- 6:17Speaker 1: easily,
- 6:19Speaker 1: whether they have a new episode.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And depending on how your notifications are set, you can be notified
- 6:25Speaker 1: when a new episode comes out.
- 6:28Speaker 1: So, let's see if we can answer a
- 6:32Speaker 1: few questions if there are any.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And I'm going to suggest
- 6:40Speaker 1: that we just that we try just having people say their
- 6:44Speaker 1: name.
- 6:44Speaker 1: We won't go we'll try not to do raise hands.
- 6:47Speaker 1: We'll try and see if we can keep it, oh, okay.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Penny, I just hear your hand lowered, so you're first.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Thank you, Mac, for not telling me when her hand went up.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So, Penny, what question?
- 7:11Speaker 1: Sorry, Penny.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Did you ask did I miss it?
- 7:18Speaker 1: It doesn't wanna unmute.
- 7:20Speaker 1: No.
- 7:20Speaker 1: You're unmuted now.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I think I'm unmuted now.
- 7:24Speaker 2: You are.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You are.
- 7:27Speaker 2: What yeah.
- 7:27Speaker 2: There are some podcast
- 7:30Speaker 2: hosts that are more accessible in terms of getting
- 7:35Speaker 2: to what you want to get and and searching?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Are there some that you know are are better for,
- 7:42Speaker 2: people who are using screen readers?
- 7:45Speaker 1: So Apple Podcasts.
- 7:47Speaker 1: So the podcast app that is native to your iPhone
- 7:52Speaker 1: Mhmm.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Is very accessible.
- 7:55Speaker 1: The it works very well with voice over.
- 7:59Speaker 1: It may not be the cleanest, but it is definitely
- 8:03Speaker 1: accessible.
- 8:06Speaker 1: At some point, we're gonna figure out how Ryan can
- 8:10Speaker 1: explain.
- 8:11Speaker 1: He likes overcast, which is another one.
- 8:16Speaker 1: I've checked out Overcast, and I've checked out Downcast.
- 8:20Speaker 1: And I just I don't know.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I just went back to Apple Podcast because I had started there.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Mhmm.
- 8:27Speaker 1: But they are both accessible.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Anyone else?
- 8:38Speaker 1: I really found I used it a lot as I was losing my sight.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Spotify was very clean to use.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I'm very
- 8:48Speaker 1: And Apple has an app for Spotify, so you can get that
- 8:53Speaker 1: on on your iPhone.
- 8:54Speaker 1: They also have a Windows program as well.
- 8:59Speaker 1: So, yeah, it depends like I said, it depends what you're used to.
- 9:03Speaker 1: If you use Spotify for music already,
- 9:07Speaker 1: then you're right, you know, and you know that app, then you can search
- 9:11Speaker 1: for podcasts there as well.
- 9:15Speaker 1: So it just depends on on what what you're used to.
- 9:22Speaker 3: I was just gonna comment that there are also a lot of
- 9:27Speaker 3: training podcasts available,
- 9:30Speaker 3: for assistive technology.
- 9:33Speaker 3: PTJ has one.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Vespero has one,
- 9:40Speaker 3: to name a a few.
- 9:42Speaker 3: What I may try and do is collect some of them up
- 9:46Speaker 3: and do a list in AEBC Connect, which
- 9:50Speaker 3: might help people find some.
- 9:53Speaker 3: It won't be exhaustive because I don't I don't use a
- 9:57Speaker 3: lot of them.
- 9:58Speaker 3: I have them, but I don't always listen to them.
- 10:01Speaker 3: But I know they're very good ones.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Don't forget AppleViz because AppleViz has tons
- 10:08Speaker 1: of them.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I get it.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Tons.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:12Speaker 3: They're they're excellent.
- 10:13Speaker 3: In fact, I've highlighted those before in in the
- 10:17Speaker 3: tech part of AEBC Connect.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Like I said, they're everywhere.
- 10:25Speaker 1: They're and they are like, anything you can think of,
- 10:29Speaker 1: there are there is probably a podcast for it.
- 10:34Speaker 1: My library has tons of different things.
- 10:38Speaker 1: There are there are probably hundreds of
- 10:42Speaker 1: hundreds, if not thousands, of disability related podcasts,
- 10:47Speaker 1: not just blindness, but other disabilities.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And
- 10:53Speaker 1: well, when if you'd if you'd like me to do a demo
- 10:57Speaker 1: of Apple Podcasts, I can do that, and we can,
- 11:01Speaker 1: we can look through my list.
- 11:03Speaker 1: My library has just tons of them.
- 11:07Speaker 1: So, do we have any other questions about podcasts
- 11:11Speaker 1: in general?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Well, do you when you just mentioned your library, does that mean that
- 11:17Speaker 2: when you download a podcast, it goes to your library and it stays
- 11:21Speaker 2: there?
- 11:23Speaker 1: The it depends whether you download it or not.
- 11:26Speaker 1: If you just stream it, then it then if you follow the
- 11:31Speaker 1: podcast, those are the ones that relate that end up
- 11:35Speaker 1: in your library.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Okay.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So it's like it's like Apple Music or it's like
- 11:40Speaker 1: any other like a bookshelf.
- 11:43Speaker 1: This is it's called the library, and that's where all the podcasts
- 11:47Speaker 1: that you follow, where they live.
- 11:50Speaker 1: And so you can flick from one podcast app
- 11:55Speaker 1: from one show to another or from one new
- 12:00Speaker 1: episode to another new episode in another podcast.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So there there are different ways to sort your library depending
- 12:09Speaker 1: on what you want to listen to or what you're looking for.
- 12:14Speaker 1: A lot of the podcasts keep all of their episodes.
- 12:19Speaker 1: So you can go to say, you could start now,
- 12:23Speaker 1: find a podcast that maybe or may have been around for years,
- 12:28Speaker 1: and it may or may not
- 12:31Speaker 1: still have all the past episodes.
- 12:34Speaker 1: And so you can play them on demand.
- 12:37Speaker 1: So you can just go through and say, oh, that sounds interesting,
- 12:41Speaker 1: because they'll give a little blurb as to what that show is
- 12:45Speaker 1: about, that particular episode.
- 12:49Speaker 1: You can go through the podcast.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Oh, another one that I forgot to mention is AT Banter,
- 12:56Speaker 1: which is, Ryan Flurry and Steve,
- 13:02Speaker 1: Barclay and, and Rob whose last name
- 13:06Speaker 1: escapes me.
- 13:07Speaker 1: The three of them do that podcast.
- 13:12Speaker 1: There are honestly, every everything
- 13:16Speaker 1: you can think of, and then every episode usually has enough
- 13:20Speaker 1: of a blurb that that you can figure out, oh, does that interest me?
- 13:24Speaker 1: No.
- 13:24Speaker 1: It doesn't.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And so what happens to me is that I'll hear about a podcast,
- 13:30Speaker 1: and I'll think, oh, that sounds interesting.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And I'll wanna listen to one episode, and I'll decide, okay.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I might as well follow it because it might get interesting after that.
- 13:40Speaker 1: And then sometimes I never go back to that particular podcast.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But it sits in my library, and if I want to, I can go
- 13:48Speaker 1: and find it easily rather than having to search for it again.
- 13:53Speaker 1: And you can have tons of podcasts in your library.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I don't know if there's a if there is a a limit.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I haven't I haven't reached it yet.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I've not right reached it yet.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Any more
- 14:12Speaker 1: complete like, basic questions?
- 14:16Speaker 1: I can if you think of something along the way, we can always just
- 14:21Speaker 1: deal with it when you come up with it.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I I would rather it be interactive.
- 14:26Speaker 1: So whenever no.
- 14:30Speaker 1: But, let's see how we can do with
- 14:34Speaker 1: Apple Podcasts.
- 14:37Speaker 1: And I just need to
- 14:48Speaker 3: While you're doing that, Marcy, I was just gonna comment that,
- 14:53Speaker 3: you can find all these different apps like Overcast and
- 14:57Speaker 3: Downcast and all the ones except for Apple Podcasts,
- 15:01Speaker 3: which the iDevices have.
- 15:04Speaker 3: And I'm not sure which ones Android has, but
- 15:08Speaker 3: you find those at the App Store or the Google Play Store
- 15:13Speaker 3: to download those apps to your, device
- 15:17Speaker 3: in order to to, add things and follow them
- 15:21Speaker 3: and add them to your library.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Okay.
- 15:29Speaker 1: So welcome to Apple Podcasts, which is
- 15:33Speaker 1: the native podcatcher, and that's what they call
- 15:37Speaker 1: these apps, podcatchers.
- 15:42Speaker 1: The that is on your iPhone
- 15:46Speaker 1: from the start.
- 15:47Speaker 1: So it's a it's one of the apps that gets in installed
- 15:53Speaker 1: right when you
- 15:55Speaker 1: upgrade to a new iOS version, when you get a new
- 15:59Speaker 1: iPhone, it's there.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It's one of the native apps.
- 16:03Speaker 1: And like every or most apps, it has
- 16:07Speaker 1: tabs
- 16:09Speaker 1: at the bottom of the screen that change
- 16:14Speaker 1: what's on the screen.
- 16:16Speaker 1: And in the pod in podcasts, the tabs
- 16:20Speaker 1: are now home, new,
- 16:24Speaker 1: library, and search.
- 16:27Speaker 1: So those are the four tabs on the bottom and it will always open
- 16:31Speaker 1: to home, which is where we are now.
- 16:35Speaker 1: And on your home screen
- 16:39Speaker 1: is basically a collection of things which
- 16:44Speaker 1: may or may not help.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Some are podcasts that you might like, that it thinks
- 16:49Speaker 1: you might like.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Like every other app, it it decides what it tries to decide from
- 16:55Speaker 1: what's in your library what it should show you.
- 16:59Speaker 1: And so on my home screen
- 17:01Speaker 5: Adding.
- 17:02Speaker 1: The as at the top, it says home.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And then I'm just gonna flick for a bit.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Account settings button.
- 17:11Speaker 1: So that's where I would change how I want podcasts to
- 17:15Speaker 1: act, whether I want them to download right away, whether I
- 17:19Speaker 1: wanna know about them, whether I want them to stay in my
- 17:23Speaker 1: library, just anything to do with with
- 17:27Speaker 1: settings on on my account for podcasts.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Up next.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Button.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Adding.
- 17:34Speaker 1: So up next is whatever I was playing
- 17:38Speaker 1: last.
- 17:40Speaker 1: It's gonna decide what's up next, but god only knows what it's gonna be.
- 17:44Speaker 5: IBytes podcast followed.
- 17:47Speaker 5: E b p zero two eight, winding down from Techtember.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Today on iBytes, Daniel and Sajundeep talk about Apple's jaw
- 17:56Speaker 5: dropping event.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Apple releases new updates.
- 17:59Speaker 5: MetisConnect event.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Organizing your grocery list with the bring app.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Nova Launcher is gone bang.
- 18:06Speaker 5: Have questions or feedback?
- 18:09Speaker 5: You can email us at ibids podcast at g mail dot com.
- 18:12Speaker 5: Follow us on x at iBytes podcast.
- 18:14Speaker 5: Check us out on YouTube at iBytes.
- 18:17Speaker 5: Actions available.
- 18:19Speaker 5: IBytes.
- 18:20Speaker 1: So Podcast.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Remember I said that that usually a podcast episode
- 18:26Speaker 1: will tell you they will tell you what the episode is
- 18:30Speaker 1: about so that you don't have to listen to it if you don't like
- 18:34Speaker 1: any of that.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And it says that actions are available.
- 18:39Speaker 1: This is one of the podcasts that I followed because I
- 18:43Speaker 1: think I follow it.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I think it said that I follow it, because there was an
- 18:50Speaker 1: an episode that sounded interesting,
- 18:53Speaker 1: but I don't think I've listened to it yet.
- 18:56Speaker 1: But let's see what the actions are.
- 18:57Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna flick down.
- 18:59Speaker 5: Play remaining time, one hour, twelve minutes.
- 19:04Speaker 1: K.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Remember I said podcasts can be any length.
- 19:08Speaker 1: This one's an hour and twelve minutes.
- 19:11Speaker 5: More.
- 19:12Speaker 1: And there's a more.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Explore image.
- 19:14Speaker 1: There's an explore image.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Activate default.
- 19:18Speaker 1: And activate, which is probably gonna take me to that
- 19:22Speaker 1: episode's page,
- 19:25Speaker 1: and let me read more about it.
- 19:28Speaker 1: But I can also play it right from there.
- 19:30Speaker 1: And the more,
- 19:33Speaker 5: can
- 19:33Speaker 1: I just go there just to see what's
- 19:36Speaker 5: Download button?
- 19:37Speaker 1: Ah, so I can download it.
- 19:39Speaker 5: Save button.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I can save it.
- 19:42Speaker 1: Share button.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I can share it with someone else.
- 19:45Speaker 1: So that would send a link to that particular episode.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And it the regular share sheet would come up so I could send it
- 19:52Speaker 1: via messages or via mail, you know, if I wanted
- 19:57Speaker 1: someone else to know about this podcast.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Play next button.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I can play the next episode.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Mark as played button.
- 20:05Speaker 1: I can mark it as played.
- 20:06Speaker 5: View transcript button.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Ah, if there's a transcript, I can view the transcript of the podcast.
- 20:13Speaker 1: And that's becoming more,
- 20:16Speaker 1: often that that there are transcripts.
- 20:20Speaker 5: Right?
- 20:20Speaker 5: Go to episode button.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I can go to the episode.
- 20:24Speaker 1: So that would take me to the episodes page.
- 20:28Speaker 5: Go to show
- 20:29Speaker 1: that button.
- 20:30Speaker 2: That's really good for for me to pass on to the deaf blind communities
- 20:34Speaker 2: here because, you know, the episode being able to
- 20:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:40Speaker 1: You you can go to there are transcripts.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Now don't ask me how good they are.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Some are gonna be better than others, because some are gonna
- 20:52Speaker 1: be AI generated and some may be human generated.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I I don't plan I don't,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I don't I haven't honestly checked them out.
- 21:03Speaker 1: But they exist.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Well, just knowing they exist.
- 21:07Speaker 2: That's great.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Oh, you can report a concern.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So that probably that might go to Apple or it might go
- 21:15Speaker 1: to the developer of the podcast.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Not sure.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Never used it.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Remove from up next button.
- 21:21Speaker 1: You can remove it from up next so it won't that particular
- 21:26Speaker 1: episode won't play.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Dismiss context menu.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Can dismiss the context menu.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So we'll do that.
- 21:33Speaker 5: Home.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Heading.
- 21:34Speaker 1: So we're back at home.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:36Speaker 1: So we've got button.
- 21:38Speaker 5: High bytes.
- 21:38Speaker 1: High bytes.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Reflections.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Reflections.
- 21:41Speaker 5: A, b, c audio.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yep.
- 21:43Speaker 1: There's our a d o a, b, c audio.
- 21:47Speaker 1: So it's gonna show me a bunch of my it looks like it's showing
- 21:50Speaker 1: me a bunch of my podcasts that I have followed
- 21:54Speaker 1: on the home screen so I don't have to go anywhere to find them.
- 21:58Speaker 1: But usually, you're gonna wanna go to your library
- 22:02Speaker 1: because you're you're gonna wanna go to to a specific show
- 22:07Speaker 1: or a specific episode.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So the new, I'm assuming is gonna show brand
- 22:13Speaker 1: new podcasts that I might be interested in.
- 22:17Speaker 1: But library is where you're where you're probably
- 22:22Speaker 1: going to live.
- 22:23Speaker 5: Tab three of four.
- 22:25Speaker 1: K.
- 22:25Speaker 1: So we're gonna go to library.
- 22:30Speaker 5: Library.
- 22:31Speaker 5: Heading.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And I'm just gonna flick across, and you'll see what your choices
- 22:37Speaker 1: are as to how to sort your library.
- 22:41Speaker 5: More dimmed button.
- 22:43Speaker 5: Account settings button.
- 22:45Speaker 5: Latest episodes button.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Channels button.
- 22:49Speaker 5: Categories button.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Saved button.
- 22:52Speaker 5: Shows button.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Downloaded button.
- 22:56Speaker 5: Recently updated heading.
- 22:59Speaker 1: K.
- 23:00Speaker 1: And then recently updated is a heading, which means it's gonna show
- 23:04Speaker 1: me which shows have new episodes, and it's gonna show
- 23:08Speaker 1: me the episodes that they have.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Shows is the actual
- 23:15Speaker 1: that's where you would go if you wanna see all the different podcasts
- 23:19Speaker 1: you follow.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Downloaded is if you've downloaded episodes.
- 23:26Speaker 1: And please don't ask me what the difference between saved and
- 23:30Speaker 1: downloaded is because I have been trying to figure that out for
- 23:35Speaker 1: years.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I still don't know.
- 23:39Speaker 1: But they are two categories.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And, honestly, downloaded, they end
- 23:45Speaker 1: up on your phone, on your device somewhere, but you can't the
- 23:49Speaker 1: only way you can access them is through the podcast
- 23:53Speaker 1: app.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Some apps, you can they they allow you
- 23:58Speaker 1: to get at the actual files, but
- 24:03Speaker 1: Apple does not.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Shows so shows is where you would go.
- 24:08Speaker 1: So let's go there.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Select selected followed button one of two.
- 24:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:15Speaker 1: So followed are those shows that you have quote, unquote
- 24:19Speaker 1: followed or subscribed to.
- 24:21Speaker 1: So these are shows that you wanna keep track of, and
- 24:25Speaker 1: you might wanna go and look at all their episodes or you might be
- 24:29Speaker 1: waiting for a specific episode.
- 24:31Speaker 1: But here's and then the next one is all podcasts, and that'll
- 24:36Speaker 1: bring in anything and everything, that you might
- 24:40Speaker 1: have looked at in the past.
- 24:41Speaker 5: All button.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Two of two.
- 24:43Speaker 1: So here's here are my shows.
- 24:46Speaker 5: Reflections, two hours ago, middle dot, for new
- 24:50Speaker 5: button.
- 24:51Speaker 1: So it'll
- 24:52Speaker 5: tell available.
- 24:53Speaker 5: Reflections
- 24:54Speaker 1: Oh.
- 24:55Speaker 1: M.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It's gonna tell okay.
- 24:57Speaker 1: So Reflections is the latest one that I followed,
- 25:03Speaker 1: and the the newest episode was two hours
- 25:07Speaker 1: ago.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It was posted.
- 25:09Speaker 5: ABC audio, five d ago.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Middle dot, two new button.
- 25:14Speaker 5: Talking flicks, followed August seventeenth, button.
- 25:17Speaker 5: Eye Bytes podcast, followed June twenty seventh, button.
- 25:22Speaker 5: Tech Talk, followed February sixteenth, button.
- 25:25Speaker 1: So these are all the available.
- 25:28Speaker 1: And all these shows, I can go I can play them.
- 25:31Speaker 1: I can go to the latest episode.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I can, probably unfollow them if I, you know,
- 25:38Speaker 1: if I've decided that I don't want to be, to have anything
- 25:42Speaker 1: to do with them or or you know?
- 25:46Speaker 1: The fourth tab, which is search, is literally it gives
- 25:50Speaker 1: you a search field, probably at the bottom again
- 25:55Speaker 1: because that seems to be with iOS twenty six that all
- 25:59Speaker 1: the search fields end up at the bottom.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Let me just figure out if that's the case.
- 26:05Speaker 5: Tab bar.
- 26:06Speaker 1: So I need to go Search.
- 26:08Speaker 1: There
- 26:08Speaker 5: we go.
- 26:09Speaker 5: Four selected search dictate button.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Yep.
- 26:13Speaker 1: There's the dictate.
- 26:15Speaker 5: And let's September second.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Where is this?
- 26:19Speaker 5: Forward sixty seconds.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Search.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Heading.
- 26:22Speaker 5: Account setting.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Top charts.
- 26:24Speaker 5: Horror and supernatural.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:27Speaker 1: So when you when you go to the search field, you the search page,
- 26:31Speaker 1: you can decide, oh, I wanna go see horror podcasts.
- 26:36Speaker 1: No thanks.
- 26:37Speaker 5: September second.
- 26:39Speaker 1: But the actual play.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Search.
- 26:43Speaker 1: But
- 26:44Speaker 5: AppleBot dictate.
- 26:45Speaker 5: Dictate button Apple Podcasts.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Search field.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Is at the very bottom again.
- 26:51Speaker 1: So it has moved.
- 26:53Speaker 1: The dictate is the far right corner if you wanna dictate.
- 26:56Speaker 1: Otherwise, you would double tap on that Apple podcast
- 27:01Speaker 1: edit field to open it up, and then you could either type or dictate
- 27:05Speaker 1: or use a keyboard or whatever.
- 27:09Speaker 1: When you search,
- 27:12Speaker 1: be as specific as possible because there are so many
- 27:16Speaker 1: podcasts out there that have similar names so that the closer
- 27:20Speaker 1: you can get, the better.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Otherwise, you're gonna be looking for quite a while.
- 27:27Speaker 1: You can also there is a way
- 27:31Speaker 1: to put a if someone sends you a web link for a
- 27:35Speaker 1: podcast, so the RSS feed, so the the link that
- 27:39Speaker 1: would take you to that podcast's actual
- 27:43Speaker 1: hosting site, you can put that website
- 27:48Speaker 1: in that URL
- 27:50Speaker 1: in there, and it will search for that podcast and find it as well.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So you can search various ways,
- 28:00Speaker 1: to find the podcast you want.
- 28:03Speaker 1: And then you can download them and and or you can stream
- 28:07Speaker 1: them.
- 28:08Speaker 1: So you can just,
- 28:10Speaker 1: sit in your house and and listen to podcasts all day if you want.
- 28:15Speaker 1: There are just tons and tons of them.
- 28:19Speaker 1: And they all the the different apps I mean, I I used
- 28:23Speaker 1: Overcast and Downcast for a bit, and they all have the same
- 28:28Speaker 1: idea of the things that you can do with them.
- 28:31Speaker 1: So you can subscribe to podcasts.
- 28:34Speaker 1: You can search for podcasts.
- 28:36Speaker 1: They will have their own library set up.
- 28:41Speaker 1: And, you know, then they they will have different
- 28:46Speaker 1: options.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Every app is different as we all know.
- 28:50Speaker 1: You know, if you think of GPS apps or reading
- 28:54Speaker 1: apps, they're all different.
- 28:56Speaker 1: And it's just you find the one that that works for you, that that
- 29:01Speaker 1: is the most comfortable for you.
- 29:05Speaker 1: And, and that, you know, that's basically,
- 29:11Speaker 1: that's podcasting.
- 29:12Speaker 1: It's,
- 29:14Speaker 1: it's an amazing creation.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Like I said, it it sort of makes me think of of old radio
- 29:22Speaker 1: shows because
- 29:24Speaker 1: they have been saved from
- 29:28Speaker 1: way back when.
- 29:30Speaker 1: And now you've got these podcasts that going forward are
- 29:34Speaker 1: being saved, and you can go back on demand and and
- 29:38Speaker 1: listen to episodes from a few years back if
- 29:42Speaker 1: the podcasting,
- 29:46Speaker 1: company or or group has saved all of their
- 29:50Speaker 1: episodes, and it's it's fascinating.
- 29:53Speaker 1: It really is.
- 29:55Speaker 1: It's it's the new world of of how to get
- 29:59Speaker 1: information and entertainment because it's it's definitely
- 30:04Speaker 1: on demand.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I mean, you can listen to a podcast that came out
- 30:10Speaker 1: three weeks ago.
- 30:11Speaker 1: You can listen to it today, and it's, you know, it's the
- 30:15Speaker 1: same as it was three weeks ago, and you didn't you can do it
- 30:19Speaker 1: on your time.
- 30:21Speaker 1: That's the the amazing thing about podcasts is that it's
- 30:25Speaker 1: information that you can retrieve at at your
- 30:30Speaker 1: leisure when it suits you,
- 30:34Speaker 1: which is, yeah.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It's a totally different it's it's part of that whole on
- 30:39Speaker 1: demand,
- 30:41Speaker 1: thing that we've become used to with Netflix
- 30:45Speaker 1: and, you know, and those kinds of streaming services.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And podcasts do the same thing.
- 30:55Speaker 1: So questions, anybody?
- 31:03Speaker 1: Anyone?
- 31:06Speaker 1: I heard some people unmuting at some point.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I will be a brat and ask if you can
- 31:16Speaker 3: I I don't mean to be a brat, but I think people might be
- 31:20Speaker 3: thinking?
- 31:22Speaker 3: Can you show if you searched for a podcast?
- 31:26Speaker 3: Sure.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Find one and then add it to your library.
- 31:30Speaker 3: Sure.
- 31:31Speaker 5: Podcasts.
- 31:32Speaker 5: Search field.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:34Speaker 5: Search field.
- 31:35Speaker 5: Search field is editing happy podcast.
- 31:38Speaker 1: K.
- 31:39Speaker 1: How about I don't I'm trying to think of one that I'm
- 31:43Speaker 1: not subscribed to that that
- 31:49Speaker 1: well, let's look for
- 31:54Speaker 1: how about the word movie?
- 31:57Speaker 1: Let's see what happens if I just search for the word movie,
- 32:01Speaker 1: and we'll just pick one.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Movie.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Clear text button.
- 32:12Speaker 5: Close button.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Tab bar.
- 32:15Speaker 5: Library.
- 32:15Speaker 5: Collapse selected.
- 32:17Speaker 5: Apple podcast library.
- 32:19Speaker 5: The movies that made me.
- 32:22Speaker 1: The Movies That Made Me.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Well, that sounds interesting.
- 32:29Speaker 5: Movie crush.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Movie crush.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Movies that raised us.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Oh, that sounds interesting.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Let's go to that one.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Movies that raised us.
- 32:40Speaker 5: Movies that raised us.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Movies that raised us.
- 32:43Speaker 5: Sixty ago.

- 33:08Speaker 5: But more.
- 33:09Speaker 5: But September eleventh two thousand twenty four.
- 33:14Speaker 5: Negative squared.
- 33:14Speaker 5: Latin capital letter e.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Ferris Bueller's day off.
- 33:18Speaker 5: Heading.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Oh.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Podcast artwork, movies that raised us.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Image.

- 33:27Speaker 5: Play.
- 33:28Speaker 5: Remaining time, one hour forty eight minutes.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Button.
- 33:33Speaker 1: Wow.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Alarm.
- 33:35Speaker 1: Button.
- 33:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 5: Save episode.
- 33:38Speaker 5: Off button.
- 33:39Speaker 5: Welcome to back to school September.
- 33:41Speaker 5: Back by
- 33:42Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:43Speaker 1: So it's gonna babble about Ferris Bueller's day
- 33:45Speaker 5: off.
- 33:46Speaker 5: September.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Let's go back.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Button.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:48Speaker 1: There's a more, which is right at the top.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Button.
- 33:52Speaker 1: And I'm I'm going to assume
- 33:55Speaker 1: that the follow is there.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Dismiss context.
- 33:58Speaker 5: Dismiss con report a concern.
- 34:00Speaker 5: Go to show.
- 34:01Speaker 5: But view transcript.
- 34:02Speaker 5: Mark as played.
- 34:04Speaker 5: Play next, but follow show button.
- 34:07Speaker 2: Oh, yep.
- 34:08Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna do that.
- 34:12Speaker 5: Search.
- 34:14Speaker 5: Search.
- 34:14Speaker 1: And there button.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:16Speaker 1: So then I'm gonna get out of the search.
- 34:18Speaker 5: September eleventh.
- 34:20Speaker 5: Search.
- 34:20Speaker 5: Search.
- 34:21Speaker 5: Back button.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Movies that raised us.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Two thousand twenty four.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Movies that raised us.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Search field.
- 34:28Speaker 1: And I'm gonna close
- 34:30Speaker 5: movie set.
- 34:30Speaker 5: Movie move movie clear text.
- 34:33Speaker 5: Close button.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So I'm gonna close the search.
- 34:37Speaker 5: Search heading.
- 34:38Speaker 1: And I'm gonna go back to my library and show you that that show
- 34:42Speaker 1: is now part of it.
- 34:43Speaker 5: Apple Podcasts tab bar live go tab bar
- 34:48Speaker 5: library collapsed shows button.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And we're gonna
- 34:52Speaker 5: Tab bar more accounts latest channels
- 34:56Speaker 5: category saved shows button.
- 34:59Speaker 1: And And we're gonna get this sorted.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Followed.
- 35:02Speaker 5: Button.
- 35:03Speaker 5: All.
- 35:03Speaker 5: Button.
- 35:04Speaker 5: Movies that raised us.
- 35:06Speaker 2: There we go.
- 35:06Speaker 5: Today.
- 35:07Speaker 5: Explicit.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Button.
- 35:09Speaker 5: Actions available.
- 35:11Speaker 5: Movies that k a
- 35:13Speaker 1: k.
- 35:13Speaker 1: So that's that's the simplest.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Honestly, it is once you get to the show
- 35:21Speaker 1: that you want or an episode of the show that you want, there is
- 35:25Speaker 1: a more button at the top, and you just double tap on it.
- 35:29Speaker 1: And one of the items on that little menu that
- 35:33Speaker 1: comes up will be follow.
- 35:35Speaker 1: And like I said, it could be called subscribe.
- 35:39Speaker 1: It used to be subscribe,
- 35:42Speaker 1: and they used to say subscribe to podcasts, and now they say
- 35:46Speaker 1: follow podcasts.
- 35:47Speaker 1: So
- 35:48Speaker 1: whatever.
- 35:49Speaker 1: It's the same thing.
- 35:52Speaker 1: And now I've got this crazy podcast that I'm really curious
- 35:56Speaker 1: about.
- 35:57Speaker 1: So Yes.
- 35:58Speaker 1: I can now check out all of the episodes on that podcast,
- 36:03Speaker 1: and see whether well, I think I've gotta go see what
- 36:07Speaker 1: they say about Ferris Bueller.
- 36:09Speaker 1: You know, I'm I'm almost wondering if they're actually running the movie
- 36:15Speaker 1: because an hour and forty eight minutes, that seems to be about
- 36:19Speaker 1: how long that movie was.
- 36:21Speaker 1: So who knows what it is?
- 36:24Speaker 1: It could be just the audio version of the movie, which would be rather
- 36:27Speaker 1: interesting.
- 36:30Speaker 1: But that's
- 36:31Speaker 4: What if you start playing that particular podcast then?
- 36:37Speaker 1: K.
- 36:37Speaker 1: I can do that.
- 36:39Speaker 1: And and when you start playing a podcast, when you if
- 36:43Speaker 1: you stop it in the middle, when you come back, it will resume
- 36:47Speaker 1: where you left off.
- 36:49Speaker 1: So it's it's like an audiobook, like on Audible when you
- 36:53Speaker 1: play when you start a podcast episode, and you could come back
- 36:57Speaker 1: twenty minutes later or twenty days later
- 37:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 37:00Speaker 1: To that various that episode, and it will remember where you
- 37:04Speaker 1: are.
- 37:05Speaker 1: So
- 37:06Speaker 5: Movies that raised us followed today explicit button.
- 37:11Speaker 1: So we'll double tap on that, and then we'll
- 37:15Speaker 5: go latest episode button.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Let's see what the latest episode is.
- 37:20Speaker 5: Playing remaining time.
- 37:23Speaker 5: Shows back button.
- 37:24Speaker 5: Out of
- 37:24Speaker 4: there.
- 37:25Speaker 4: The haunted train.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Oh.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Oh my god, guys.
- 37:28Speaker 5: Do you hear
- 37:29Speaker 4: a train?
- 37:29Speaker 4: I don't even live near a train.
- 37:31Speaker 4: Oh my god.
- 37:31Speaker 4: This is the Pretty Little Liars ghost train.
- 37:33Speaker 4: It's coming up.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Oh, okay.
- 37:41Speaker 5: Download tab bar selected.
- 37:44Speaker 5: New home.
- 37:45Speaker 5: Go forward to pause button play.
- 37:48Speaker 1: So at the bottom of of the screen when you start a
- 37:52Speaker 1: podcast playing, and even if you're not starting a
- 37:56Speaker 1: podcast playing, there's this little mini player that has a rewind
- 38:01Speaker 1: and a and a pause play and a forward.
- 38:05Speaker 1: And in settings, I believe you can set
- 38:09Speaker 1: how much the how how much forward and backward
- 38:14Speaker 1: it does.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Mine is set to sixty seconds, and I can't remember when I did that
- 38:19Speaker 1: or if I you know, if if it's the default.
- 38:23Speaker 1: But I've just paused it and if I start it again.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But now I think I've figured this out.
- 38:28Speaker 1: So this is two women who are going to talk all the way
- 38:32Speaker 1: through a movie.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I'm not sure.
- 38:34Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm gonna ask, but that's
- 38:38Speaker 1: now I may be wrong, but that's what it sound like to me.
- 38:42Speaker 1: So you never know what it's gonna be when you when
- 38:46Speaker 1: you find a podcast and and you start it.
- 38:50Speaker 1: It could be anything.
- 38:51Speaker 1: It could be two people talking.
- 38:52Speaker 1: It could be one person.
- 38:54Speaker 1: It could be and sometimes you can figure that out if
- 38:58Speaker 1: you read what's on their show page.
- 39:01Speaker 1: And sometimes you, you know, and sometimes it's a surprise.
- 39:06Speaker 1: And and that's the thing about podcasts is that they
- 39:10Speaker 1: are so they can be as creative as the people who make
- 39:14Speaker 1: them.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Mhmm.
- 39:16Speaker 1: And so some of them are really, really creative, and some of them
- 39:20Speaker 1: you start listening and you think, no.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Not interested in that.
- 39:26Speaker 1: And sometimes it's the the the personalities of the people,
- 39:30Speaker 1: You
- 39:32Speaker 1: know?
- 39:34Speaker 1: They sometimes you can just, wonder where
- 39:38Speaker 1: where they're coming from.
- 39:41Speaker 1: But, honestly, like I said, any anything you can think of, there's
- 39:45Speaker 1: probably a podcast
- 39:47Speaker 1: about it.
- 39:50Speaker 1: If anyone likes the show Outlander, there have got to be about
- 39:54Speaker 1: probably a dozen or two dozen podcasts that
- 39:59Speaker 1: are to do that deal with Outlander in various ways.
- 40:02Speaker 1: So whatever your little heart desires, you know, there
- 40:07Speaker 1: is a podcast for that.
- 40:09Speaker 1: You know, it's almost like, you know.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Okay.
- 40:12Speaker 3: If you if you didn't know or if you want you could have played
- 40:17Speaker 3: that episode and or an episode from that search as well
- 40:22Speaker 3: if you didn't wanna bother to add it, right, until you knew
- 40:26Speaker 3: whether you liked it.
- 40:27Speaker 3: There because there was a play button there too.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 40:30Speaker 1: You can play them.
- 40:31Speaker 1: You don't have to follow them.
- 40:34Speaker 1: You you can just pick an episode
- 40:36Speaker 6: of someone's mute button.
- 40:37Speaker 6: Mute my audio button.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Whoever is playing with their iPhone.
- 40:42Speaker 6: Active display or save the play button.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Oh, sorry.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:49Speaker 3: Remember?
- 40:50Speaker 3: I had a call earlier.
- 40:51Speaker 3: Did that come through?
- 40:53Speaker 1: No.
- 40:53Speaker 1: No.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Good.
- 40:54Speaker 1: No.
- 40:55Speaker 1: No.
- 40:56Speaker 1: But you are now.
- 40:59Speaker 1: So, yes, you can play.
- 41:01Speaker 1: If you search for something, you can just play whatever
- 41:05Speaker 1: you find.
- 41:06Speaker 1: You don't need to follow it, and you can you don't have to come
- 41:09Speaker 1: back to it.
- 41:11Speaker 1: No one really cares.
- 41:13Speaker 1: The
- 41:16Speaker 1: you know, it it you can just play it and then be done and
- 41:19Speaker 1: never think about it again.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Which is really nice because sometimes that's all you wanna do.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Someone will tell you about a podcast episode or you'll hear about
- 41:30Speaker 1: one somewhere.
- 41:32Speaker 1: You'll read about one, and you go and listen to it and you realize,
- 41:37Speaker 1: okay.
- 41:37Speaker 1: That was interesting, but I don't think I wanna listen to any more of
- 41:41Speaker 1: that.
- 41:42Speaker 1: And so you just forget about it, and you don't have
- 41:46Speaker 1: to follow it.
- 41:47Speaker 6: Hilton's iPad two thousand seventeen.
- 41:49Speaker 6: But left.
- 41:51Speaker 2: But you but you won't, you
- 41:55Speaker 2: it won't pick up from where you left off if you don't save it
- 41:59Speaker 2: or follow it.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 42:00Speaker 1: It will.
- 42:01Speaker 1: Yes.
- 42:01Speaker 1: It will.
- 42:03Speaker 1: If you start listening to a podcast and then you come back
- 42:07Speaker 1: to it later, it will pick up where you left off.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Even though you didn't save it or follow it.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Because it it there there is something that keeps bookmarks
- 42:17Speaker 1: somewhere.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure that regardless of whether you've saved whether you've it's
- 42:23Speaker 1: in your library or not, and someone can tell me if I'm wrong.
- 42:28Speaker 1: I have never
- 42:30Speaker 1: tested this, but I'm I'm almost guessing it would probably
- 42:34Speaker 1: remember where you were.
- 42:37Speaker 7: So my question then is if you close the app switcher and close out
- 42:41Speaker 7: Apple add Apple Podcasts, if you came back in,
- 42:45Speaker 7: would it recognize where you were the last time, the last episode you were
- 42:49Speaker 7: listening, or do you have
- 42:50Speaker 1: to start over?
- 42:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 42:51Speaker 1: It probably would, and we can test that.
- 42:54Speaker 1: So we left it on that movies that whatever it was, movies
- 42:59Speaker 1: that made that raised us or made us.
- 43:04Speaker 1: But we were.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Which
- 43:06Speaker 2: I'll get gas.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yes.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I did.
- 43:08Speaker 1: But it
- 43:09Speaker 2: but That's not the same.
- 43:11Speaker 1: No.
- 43:11Speaker 1: But she wants to know if it would remember where where I was in
- 43:15Speaker 1: an episode, if it would open to that episode.
- 43:18Speaker 1: So we'll test that.
- 43:20Speaker 5: Close podcasts.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Bye bye.
- 43:21Speaker 5: Setting up switcher.
- 43:23Speaker 5: Settings.
- 43:24Speaker 5: Production.
- 43:25Speaker 5: Close settings.

- 43:29Speaker 5: Settings.
- 43:31Speaker 1: We're not gonna play with Siri because my map is likely
- 43:35Speaker 1: to
- 43:36Speaker 5: edge droppers something crazy.
- 43:38Speaker 5: Extras, podcasts.
- 43:42Speaker 5: Podcasts, home.
- 43:45Speaker 5: Home, head, tab bar, live Yes.

- 48:46Speaker 5: Let's talk about myths.
- 48:47Speaker 5: Up next.
- 48:48Speaker 5: Account settings.
- 48:49Speaker 5: Up next.
- 48:50Speaker 5: Button.
- 48:51Speaker 5: Heading.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Let's see what happens if I hit the play button at the bar.
- 48:55Speaker 1: New.
- 48:55Speaker 5: Selected.
- 48:55Speaker 5: Hop go forward sixty.
- 48:56Speaker 5: Play button.
- 49:02Speaker 5: Counting.
- 49:03Speaker 5: Oh, adding.
- 49:04Speaker 8: Let's talk about miss Baby.
- 49:06Speaker 8: Ad free along with so much
- 49:08Speaker 1: That's the same woman.
- 49:10Speaker 1: So if you were searching for something and you found something
- 49:14Speaker 1: you liked and you accidentally closed it, it's going to
- 49:18Speaker 1: pick up the last episode you were listening to.
- 49:22Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 49:25Speaker 9: Marcy?
- 49:26Speaker 9: Yes.
- 49:27Speaker 9: I believe Spotify does that for sure as well because
- 49:31Speaker 9: sometimes I've tried to get out of it thinking, why can't I just go
- 49:34Speaker 9: to what I wanna listen to?
- 49:36Speaker 9: But I listened to that last month.
- 49:38Speaker 9: I don't wanna hear it anymore.
- 49:40Speaker 9: And, the other comment I was going to make is some,
- 49:44Speaker 9: podcast producers, what I really like, I'm thinking of AT Banter,
- 49:49Speaker 9: and there are a few others that I've come across.
- 49:51Speaker 9: They number their podcasts.
- 49:53Speaker 5: Yes.
- 49:54Speaker 9: So if you're looking for something specific, you might wanna know,
- 49:58Speaker 9: gee, you know, podcast number forty seven was the one
- 50:02Speaker 9: that I wanted to listen to again, then, yeah, you can
- 50:06Speaker 9: kind of search that way and it makes it easier.
- 50:09Speaker 1: And some of them will have actual seasons.
- 50:13Speaker 1: I I can't remember what podcast I have, but
- 50:17Speaker 1: it they they did it in seasons.
- 50:20Speaker 1: So they'll do a a run of, say, twenty episodes or twelve
- 50:24Speaker 1: episodes, and then they'll call it season one, and then they'll have
- 50:28Speaker 1: season two.
- 50:29Speaker 1: And then so that they've they sort of separate
- 50:33Speaker 1: the episodes into,
- 50:36Speaker 1: little chunks so that it's easier to look things up.
- 50:40Speaker 1: And then you'll you'll hear read the the list of seasons,
- 50:44Speaker 1: and then you pick one.
- 50:47Speaker 1: So I think that's about it unless there are any more
- 50:51Speaker 1: questions.
- 50:52Speaker 1: It's a it's a very
- 50:54Speaker 1: creative space.
- 50:56Speaker 1: It can be incredibly creative and, incredibly
- 51:01Speaker 1: informative, and it's the new way to go
- 51:05Speaker 1: for news for you.
- 51:07Speaker 7: I'm gonna ask one more question.
- 51:08Speaker 7: Just for the curiosity, has anybody ever found recipe podcast?
- 51:13Speaker 1: Oh, there are tons of those too.
- 51:16Speaker 1: I'm sure there are.
- 51:19Speaker 7: I figured there must be.
- 51:20Speaker 7: I just never gotten looking.
- 51:22Speaker 1: Well, just search for cooking or search for a recipe.
- 51:28Speaker 1: You know, try different search words, and you'll like, I tried
- 51:32Speaker 1: movies, and my god, we could go crazy on them.
- 51:35Speaker 1: So you never know.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Like I said, it there there's a podcast for just about
- 51:42Speaker 1: anything, I think, these days.
- 51:44Speaker 1: And and the the the other thing is is that some of them will
- 51:48Speaker 1: be done very well, and some of them will be very
- 51:53Speaker 1: rudimentary, very basic.
- 51:56Speaker 1: So you get all levels of technical
- 52:00Speaker 1: prowess
- 52:02Speaker 1: and, all levels of informative,
- 52:06Speaker 1: you know, topics and everything in between.
- 52:12Speaker 1: So thank you for,
- 52:16Speaker 1: for joining us, and I'm just going to close this.
- 52:24Speaker 0: We hope you have enjoyed this presentation.
