- 0:09And I cut off the music a little early this morning.
- 0:11Good morning. It's Monday, October 19th, 2026.
- 0:15Thank you for joining the program with Ted Rall
- 0:18and Jamarl Thomas. Hope you all had a fantastic
- 0:21weekend. Good morning, Jamarl. Good to see you.
- 0:24Good morning. And let's talk about what we're
- 0:29going to be talking about. Obviously, the lead
- 0:31story today is France and the harsh, very stark
- 0:35contrast between the No Kings protests
- 0:38here in the United States and what's
- 0:41going on in France. We'll get into that, I'm sure,
- 0:44in some considerable detail. Lots going
- 0:47on in the Middle East. Israel is finally forced
- 0:50to confront the reality of its West Bank settler
- 0:55terrorists who are on such a wilding spree that
- 0:58they're going after diplomats and Western reporters
- 1:02who are normally a protected class. We'll get into
- 1:05that. Trump informally endorses Benjamin Netanyahu.
- 1:10So is that election interference? Russian Foreign
- 1:13Minister Sergey Lavrov is in Tehran today. The
- 1:17Gulf states are begging him to beg the Iranians
- 1:20to stop beating the shit out of them. Doubt that
- 1:24that's going to get very far. Vladimir Putin
- 1:26has suggested that there be a summit about the
- 1:30Russia-Ukraine conflict with Trump and President
- 1:33Xi of China. That idea apparently was floated
- 1:38about 10 days ago in a phone call. That's the
- 1:40same phone call that sealed the Russian diesel
- 1:43deal, such as it is. Trump's polls continue to
- 1:47tank. Now it's the Washington Post, which is
- 1:49now showing Trump at its record low for Trump
- 1:52of 33%, 66% disapproving. If you like the show,
- 1:58please like, follow, and share the show. If you
- 2:00don't like the show, still like, follow, and
- 2:03share the show. We don't really care. It's not
- 2:06a democracy. Thank you so much for being here.
- 2:10We really do need your support. Please consider
- 2:12supporting the show with a subscription. Okay.
- 2:16Good morning, Jamarl. What should we do first?
- 2:18Good morning. Viva la France. Indeed. Viva la
- 2:23France. I watched that protest over the weekend.
- 2:28And there's one clip in particular that I said,
- 2:31this is the most French thing I've ever seen
- 2:34in my life. And it is effing fantastic. I'm going
- 2:38to put it into the bottom just in case Robby
- 2:43can put this clip into it. I saw that and I was
- 2:47like, that's fantastic. That's super French.
- 2:50And that is awesome. And there were other protests,
- 2:54obviously, in France. But the protests weren't
- 2:55just in France, right? Italy? No. Fighting with
- 2:58cops. Albania. Albania was going bananas.
- 3:01They were like at the palace or whatever. But
- 3:04the French protests were so, the number of people
- 3:07that were in the back of their protests on some
- 3:10of those videos was just astonishing. And I thought
- 3:13to myself, this is a rational act. Now, I know
- 3:17some people will look at that and say, well,
- 3:19they're burning stuff down. This is horrendous.
- 3:21And my thing will be, do you think that
- 3:24those people on a random Tuesday wanted to be
- 3:27out there doing that? And they're doing that
- 3:31because there's something driving them to do
- 3:34that. And I want to put right beside
- 3:37this meeting as these protests were taking place.
- 3:39You had Zelensky begging the Europeans for money
- 3:42and complaining on U.S. media that Trump has
- 3:44cut off intelligence. Right. And the Europeans
- 3:46are on a hook for hundreds of billions of
- 3:49dollars. And they're talking about, we'll just
- 3:52borrow the money. Where are you borrowing hundreds
- 3:54of billions of dollars from when your governments
- 3:55are already underwater? France has one of the
- 3:58worst economies in Europe. Meaning the interest
- 4:02rate for France is higher than even the interest
- 4:04rate for Italy. These countries are not necessarily
- 4:07the most sovereign in the world. They're spending
- 4:09hundreds of billions of dollars on a project
- 4:10that has nothing to do with them ultimately,
- 4:13meaning the people of those countries, even up
- 4:16to the point of trying to ultimately feed them
- 4:19to the Russians in 2030. Why isn't this a rational
- 4:23act? Right? The elites have gotten to a
- 4:28point where they just don't necessarily care
- 4:29what the public needs, or for that matter, wants.
- 4:33And the public is no, meaning, I guess from my
- 4:36point of view, they had the Yellow Vest Movement.
- 4:37Yellow Vest was a peaceful movement. It went
- 4:39on for years. 70 to 80% of the public agreed
- 4:42with it. The Yellow Vest movement ultimately
- 4:44ends. Does the state change to accommodate the
- 4:47fact that you had all of these people protesting
- 4:50your rulership? And the answer is no. At a certain
- 4:55point people are going to rebel, and France does
- 4:58it very well. They do. They do.
- 5:05Look, the thing is, it's so interesting. I watched
- 5:08Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron, who basically
- 5:12sounded like opposite sides of the same coin,
- 5:15complaining about les casseurs, which is basically
- 5:18rioters. And look, there's no question that there
- 5:22are always, when there's a political uprising
- 5:25like Black Lives Matter, there are always going
- 5:28to be some opportunists who, I always wonder,
- 5:31by the way, where are these people the rest of
- 5:33the year? Right, the people like, hey guys,
- 5:36we gotta loot SoHo. They must not have anything
- 5:40to do most of the time. Right, 99% of the time
- 5:42there's no riots. So but France definitely
- 5:47has mobsters. It has gangsters. It has street
- 5:52thugs. It has bad people. French Americans may
- 5:56not think of France as that kind of country,
- 5:58but it does. And so there was looting of stores.
- 6:02And some of that might have been by poor youth.
- 6:06But I think probably most of it is criminality,
- 6:09right? But I remember, but I think of this,
- 6:12you walk around these beautiful streets,
- 6:16where these luxury shops like Hermès are. And
- 6:19those shops aren't for me. They're not for you,
- 6:23Jamarl. They're not for most of us. They're not
- 6:25for most French people. They're for the 1% of
- 6:28the 1%. They're for the super elites. And you're
- 6:32expected as a French citizen to be told every single
- 6:36day that you're in a country that elevates liberty,
- 6:39equality, and fraternity on its coinage and
- 6:43everywhere else on the front of public buildings,
- 6:45and you're told basically you're an
- 6:49equal, but these places, most of the country, most
- 6:52of these cities, the rents are unaffordable.
- 6:56They're not for you. There's no job for you, and
- 7:00even in a country like France that has far more
- 7:02social protections than the United States, it
- 7:04still kind of sucks. So it doesn't surprise me
- 7:09at all when people decide, oh, I might not
- 7:12personally burn this place, the Hermès store
- 7:15down and steal one of their $2,000 scarves for
- 7:18my mom. But I'm not going to give a shit if someone
- 7:22else does. I'm going to lose no sleep over this
- 7:26at all. It's like if I walk by someone breaking
- 7:29into a Lamborghini in New York, I'm going to
- 7:33be far less likely to interfere than if they're
- 7:35breaking into a 1970s Dodge Dart. Okay,
- 7:40far less. So these people,
- 7:43it's kind of like the question always comes
- 7:47down to what is, in this case, what is France? Right?
- 7:50At the beginning of World War II, right, as
- 7:53the Germans were sweeping in and were about to
- 7:56occupy the entire country, Charles de Gaulle,
- 8:00the future leader of the Free France, Free French,
- 8:02who was just a one-star general at the time,
- 8:04met with Philippe Pétain, who was at that
- 8:08time about to become the head of the government
- 8:11of occupied France. And basically the old man
- 8:15and his protégé, right? The man in his 80s versus
- 8:18his young protégé. And his young protégé, de
- 8:21Gaulle, said, we have to fight to the
- 8:25death. We can set up shop in Brittany. We shouldn't
- 8:30withdraw. We have to just fight until we all
- 8:32die. And Pétain's like, you're crazy. It's like
- 8:37the Germans will do to Paris what they did to
- 8:40Warsaw, which they had just done months earlier.
- 8:43They had leveled it. And it looked like Gaza
- 8:45does today. And it's like, we can't
- 8:48have that happen to Paris. And de Gaulle said
- 8:50famously, but this is France is not
- 8:54a pile of bricks. France is an idea. Better that
- 8:57Paris should be leveled than the idea of France
- 9:00be destroyed. Who cares about these beautiful
- 9:02buildings? Fuck them. And that's the same question
- 9:05now. What is France? Is France a country with
- 9:08a bunch of expansive, beautiful boulevards
- 9:11and monuments and places that only wealthy people
- 9:14can live and shop? Or is it a place for everyone
- 9:18to live with decency and dignity? And that's
- 9:22what an explosion like this is about.
- 9:25I just thought to me the contrast between the
- 9:30flaccid No Kings rallies over the weekend, whose
- 9:35self-declared goal was to get people to go vote
- 9:40early for the Democratic Party, right? So the
- 9:42mask is off, right, if there ever was a mask.
- 9:44And that go vote for the Democrats, go team.
- 9:49And even the Democratic Party nominees couldn't
- 9:53be bothered to attend these rallies anymore,
- 9:55because even they know it's a waste of their
- 9:57time. This morning, sorry, Jamarl, I'm on a rant
- 10:02about this. I could go on forever. But on Facebook,
- 10:06one of my Facebook friends today showed a picture
- 10:09of herself in Brooklyn carrying some signs to
- 10:14a No Kings rally. And she said in her post, how
- 10:18much longer must we keep doing this? The signs
- 10:22keep getting reused. And I was like, France is
- 10:26showing you how it's done. OK, this is the
- 10:29way forward. The French government, whether you
- 10:32like their tactics or not of the protesters,
- 10:34they are going to have to address these issues
- 10:36in some way. They're going to have to. And
- 10:39there you are. You're wimping. You're
- 10:42whinging about having to show up once every four
- 10:45to six months on a beautiful weekend day when
- 10:49you don't even have to take time off from work
- 10:51in a demonstration where you're not
- 10:54going to have riot goons from the government
- 10:57spraying you and throwing at you and
- 11:00arresting you and beating the shit out of you. Nothing's
- 11:03going to happen to you, and that's
- 11:05too much for you. You can't handle that, and the
- 11:08answer to your question is if you ever actually
- 11:10start protesting, because you haven't. But if you
- 11:13ever start really protesting, the answer is you
- 11:15do that every single fucking day the rest of
- 11:18your life, because the fight for democracy versus
- 11:21oppression and liberation and emancipation versus
- 11:25oppression never, ever ends. I have a question
- 11:28for you, Ted, because you're talking about no
- 11:30France and no de Gaulle. France is an idea. Well,
- 11:35can that idea survive if you're in a system like
- 11:38the EU that allows open borders and if you have
- 11:42imported God knows how many people from around
- 11:45the world? Can that idea survive that? Well,
- 11:51I think it's a valid question.
- 11:54I don't think it is the France of de Gaulle.
- 11:56France's major pro-immigration has been a stressor
- 12:00on French culture and the economy, but it's not
- 12:04the only thing that's going on here by far.
- 12:07This is about capitalism first
- 12:10and foremost. Well, no, I get that, but here's
- 12:12the point I'm trying to make, though. No, and how
- 12:14much of this is accurate, I don't know, because
- 12:17I'm not in France. I'm in Kalispell. So I was
- 12:20like, JT, I was watching these riots over the weekend,
- 12:23and I'm seeing a lot of people who quite obviously
- 12:25are not native-born Frenchmen looting stores.
- 12:29So my question is, are those people out there
- 12:34rioting because they want to make France better?
- 12:37Or are they opportunists who should be rounded
- 12:39up by the French military and then sent back
- 12:41to the shithole from which they spawned? Well,
- 12:44there's a lot there, Robby. And the fact is,
- 12:46some of these people are opportunists. And I
- 12:49think some of them are. I don't know
- 12:51what you call legitimate protesters, but they're
- 12:54politicals. Some people are there to break and
- 12:56steal, but most people are there because they're
- 13:00really pissed off, and their needs and their desires
- 13:03have been ignored for years and decades by both,
- 13:08by all the major political classes, and therefore
- 13:11this is what happens. Right?
- 13:13If you're the French government, if you're in
- 13:16a French elite, you have a choice, and you had
- 13:19a choice all along. Every morning you could have
- 13:22woken up and said, we don't do something
- 13:24for the poor and the working class. Things could
- 13:27get spicy. Instead, he decided, fuck it.
- 13:31Let's just rape and pillage more.
- 13:34Every day you made that decision to do that.
- 13:36And so, okay. And so every now and
- 13:40then something like this is going to happen.
- 13:42It's inevitable. And in terms of the board, and
- 13:44just for the record, I voted against the EU.
- 13:46I don't think France should. I don't believe
- 13:48in the EU. I think under a nation-state system,
- 13:50the EU doesn't make sense. But I will
- 13:54say the idea behind it was that
- 13:58they were trying to take on the United States
- 14:00as they were kind of like it was like proto-BRICS.
- 14:03They were trying to be a counterweight to American
- 14:06hegemony. It turned out that they just ended
- 14:09up being now the U.S. instead of having to call
- 14:1120, 27 different capitals and tell them
- 14:15to bark like a dog. They only have to call Brussels.
- 14:17Yeah. Yeah. Look, I guess you can make an analogy
- 14:24of water carrying refuse downstream.
- 14:28They know that in any notion of a protest that's
- 14:32going to take place, this is inevitable. I
- 14:36don't have to think about any particular individual.
- 14:39It's inevitable that this is going to take place,
- 14:41whether it was an Arab or a Muslim or whatever
- 14:44that was in a quote country, whatever that country
- 14:48is. I imagine, by the way, many of those countries
- 14:51were rendered by French colonialism, right? Well,
- 14:54that's what was going to kind of make the point.
- 14:58France decided to colonize all of these countries.
- 15:00How can they about the people who've coming back
- 15:02into their countries as a result of their own
- 15:04policies going back for all of these years? That's
- 15:06not France. Meaning, if you didn't want these
- 15:09groups in your country, don't invade the countries.
- 15:11It's even worse than the United States with
- 15:13what we bitch about the Hondurans
- 15:16after we broke the Honduran government, right?
- 15:18Well, it's like, okay, France is even
- 15:20worse because they outright colonized these countries.
- 15:23They didn't even just fuck with them.
- 15:26They went beyond that. And they were
- 15:28still fucking with them to this day, using terrorists
- 15:31to try to overthrow Sahel states. The point I
- 15:34was making is I don't know how many, how much,
- 15:37what percentage of the protesters were people
- 15:40who obviously are not French. That's the point
- 15:43I was making. Your average Frenchman looks like
- 15:46me, looks like Ted. Well, I don't understand.
- 15:49From your point of view, your bias is going to
- 15:51immediately go to these people are obviously
- 15:53immigrants from somewhere else that is doing
- 15:55X, Y, Z. The reality of it is this started off
- 15:58because of schools. Let's start there first.
- 16:03The school protesters were not violent. They
- 16:06weren't burning shit down. They weren't doing
- 16:08any of that stuff. They were protesting in schools.
- 16:10Macron sent the goons out in order to go after
- 16:12those particular protesters. The protesters get
- 16:15that much more vigilant. And inevitably, in any
- 16:16protest, even if France had no immigrants, do
- 16:20you really believe that people wouldn't be knocking
- 16:22down buildings or burning shit down?
- 16:26Do you honestly believe that even if... Yeah, in
- 16:29BLM, it wasn't immigrants who set
- 16:31things on fire and looted those stores in SoHo.
- 16:34Yeah, it always comes about. It's just kind of
- 16:37an inevitable part of the protests. No, I get
- 16:40it. I guess my point is this started off as peaceful
- 16:42protests against schools and the failing capability
- 16:44of the state to do anything about schools. So
- 16:47you at least have to start there. If you want
- 16:51to say, okay, they were provocateurs
- 16:53in the crowd or whatever. Fair enough. Same thing happens
- 16:56on the right, too. In Charlottesville, I'm pretty
- 16:59sure that the organizers didn't plan to have
- 17:04psychos show up with their cars and try to run
- 17:06people over. For sure. Listen, if I was in North
- 17:10Carolina, I would have been in that Charlottesville
- 17:13riot because I think it's wrong to tear down
- 17:15historical monuments. I think it's wrong to try
- 17:17to erase history. I'm not a Nazi.
- 17:20I would have 100% would have been there. I guess that
- 17:23the question that I'm asking, and this just goes
- 17:27back to the point that you're making, Ted, is
- 17:33the whole reason it's come from is that de Gaulle
- 17:35was right when he said that a nation is not a
- 17:37pile of bricks. It doesn't matter if it's France,
- 17:40England, America, Russia. It doesn't matter.
- 17:41A nation is an idea. What is that idea? We are
- 17:44a group of people with a shared history, a shared
- 17:48language, a shared heritage, and we are in this
- 17:50together. And a shared set of values. In France,
- 17:52the shared set of values is the most important
- 17:55of those things. And the question that I'm asking.
- 17:57In France, it's like if you're willing to assimilate,
- 18:00speak French, act French, dress French, even
- 18:03have a French name changed to, then you can become
- 18:08French. That's kind of my point, Robby, where
- 18:13I was pointing out a bias. That's your idea of
- 18:16France. That's not necessarily France's idea
- 18:18of France. You've added the racial component
- 18:21into it. And I'm saying the French idea may be
- 18:23more values-driven, not necessarily racially
- 18:26identity-driven. Maybe a lesser culture comes
- 18:29in, right? So if you go through and if you look
- 18:32at the record of live births over the last 50
- 18:34years, you're seeing a lot more Mohammeds being
- 18:40born in Paris now than you were, say, in 1940.
- 18:43How does that reflect with the idea of a nation?
- 18:47Which what de Gaulle was trying to say is that
- 18:51France is an idea. It fits in well with the idea
- 18:52of the French nation going back to the very beginning.
- 18:55So, for example, there was the Haitian slave uprising.
- 18:58Haiti was a French colony under Toussaint. And
- 19:02Napoleon dispatched the French military to put
- 19:05it down. And there's a famous incident when the
- 19:11Napoleonic army shows up and confronts and is
- 19:13about to engage in battle against Toussaint's
- 19:18troops, where they hear Toussaint's troops singing.
- 19:20And they assume that they're singing indigenous
- 19:24songs. And as they drew closer, they realized
- 19:27that they were singing the Marseillaise, which
- 19:31is, of course, the French national anthem, the
- 19:34revolutionary anthem of France. This is only
- 19:36a few years after the revolution. And the French
- 19:40white Catholic soldiers rebelled against their
- 19:43officers, and they said, we cannot attack these
- 19:47people. They are more French than we are. They
- 19:50know our values. They know that we're about liberty,
- 19:53equality, and fraternity. We're like they are more
- 19:57like us than we are like us. And there was a
- 20:00mutiny there. The point is that that's
- 20:04what France really, and that's a storied,
- 20:07that's taught in French schools. It's like, OK,
- 20:10obviously it was a complicated
- 20:13thing, and the war went on, and the French
- 20:16weren't done fucking with the
- 20:19Haitians. But that's the ideal. That's the ideal
- 20:21of France. It's like these people are if they
- 20:25believe in our ideals, then they are like us.
- 20:29I get that. I guess the question I'm trying to
- 20:31get here is from what y'all have seen over the
- 20:34weekend is the media and the blogosphere going
- 20:36out and pushing the images of the migrants
- 20:41misbehaving to try and get a knee-jerk reaction
- 20:44out of people who are more nativist like what
- 20:47I am to try and say, no, look at French, no, doing
- 20:49this. Yes. I've been reading social media
- 20:52all week for the last few weeks. And the right
- 20:55wing talking point, even coming from quote-unquote
- 20:59mainstream politicians like Speaker Mike Johnson,
- 21:01right, is that we've, oh, this is what
- 21:04happens when you open your borders.
- 21:07They'll come in and burn things down. Be careful.
- 21:10That could happen here. If you vote Democratic,
- 21:14they'll open the borders and that'll happen here.
- 21:17Okay. What that ignores is that the French
- 21:19white Catholics are really good at burning shit
- 21:23down and mixing it up with the cops and rioting
- 21:27and looting without any help from dark-skinned
- 21:30people at all. They've been doing this
- 21:32there throughout their entire history. So it
- 21:35has nothing to do really with that. So if that's
- 21:38correct, they're cherry-picking. And I guarantee
- 21:43you also there are lots of white kids looting
- 21:45those stores too. Oh, I'm sure there are. Listen,
- 21:48anytime you have social unrest, you're going
- 21:50to have people out there that misbehave, and
- 21:52that's going to happen. The question comes down,
- 21:54though, to motive. If you are there, and if you're
- 21:56protesting, by the way, I support what the French
- 22:00citizens are doing. I wish Americans would do
- 22:02that here. Me too. I'm in awe. I'm jealous of
- 22:04them. I'm like, you guys are awesome. Now, here's
- 22:09the pushback that I have, though. Someone is
- 22:13out there and is legitimately breaking stuff
- 22:15because your government actively hates you and
- 22:17you're fighting back is one thing. But if you
- 22:21are out there and you're just taking advantage
- 22:23of a situation to hurt some store owner someplace,
- 22:26you should pay a price. There's a difference
- 22:30between... Well, they're definitely making the
- 22:34protesters look bad. Obviously, the mere
- 22:36fact that we have to address this right here
- 22:39is evidence of that. Yeah, for sure. And so for
- 22:41the people out there, a lot of ordinary French
- 22:45people obviously disapprove. They sit in their
- 22:46living rooms in the suburbs and they look
- 22:49at this and they say, oh my God, this is terrible.
- 22:51Right. This is, of course. Yeah.
- 22:53The Yellow Vest effectiveness was because they
- 22:56didn't do shit like this. Just to be very
- 22:58clear. Now, it's also true that the French government
- 23:01did what they're repeating the mistakes of 1968,
- 23:04where they're sending in goons. Right. There's
- 23:07the French have a. They have the gendarmes,
- 23:09which are local police. They're not involved
- 23:13in this. Then there's the national police, which
- 23:15used to be called the Sûreté, which are somewhat
- 23:18involved. But the CRS, which is basically the
- 23:21goon squads of the state, and they are very effective
- 23:24at this because they're not based in the local
- 23:27community. They don't live there. So they're
- 23:29parachuted in from somewhere else, usually from
- 23:32more conservative parts of the country, to go
- 23:35in and beat the shit out of people, out of protesters.
- 23:38And that's what turns the protests. That's why
- 23:40I like the left. They call it police riots. In
- 23:44other words, it's the riots that started by the
- 23:47police. This would not have disintegrated
- 23:49to this point if the police hadn't poured on
- 23:52the pressure. Yeah. Yeah.
- 23:54Look, I agree with Robby in the sense of, I don't want store
- 24:00owners and people like that hurt and injured
- 24:02by the protests. And there's no but to
- 24:04that, short of the fact that it would be inhuman
- 24:09if that didn't happen. All right. Meaning
- 24:13you, unless you have just an organized protest
- 24:16where people are, how can I say it? Like during
- 24:19the civil rights movement, during the civil rights
- 24:23movement, those protesters were taught how to
- 24:25be protesters. They went in it knowing they were
- 24:27going to take it. They wore suits and ties. Yet
- 24:29suits and ties. It was very, they had
- 24:32that stuff down almost like a science. This is
- 24:35chaos, but this is more honest in the context
- 24:38of chaos. It's how it's how people are, right?
- 24:41You put people under pressure for a very long
- 24:44period of time. You have a government that doesn't
- 24:46pay attention to what they want, and the catch
- 24:48becomes in addition to just decent people who
- 24:50are protesting for their rights, you get the rioters.
- 24:53Now, maybe you can even make an argument that
- 24:58the rioters are almost a necessary part of it,
- 25:00even if they're the worst aspect of it, because
- 25:02at the very least, that's the level of, that's
- 25:05the teeth of a protest. But I don't know. I agree
- 25:07with the premise that I don't like the fact that
- 25:12businesses are being blown up. But I understand
- 25:13that they're protesting for France, for themselves,
- 25:15which is France. Macron may be a figurehead,
- 25:20but that's different than being the people in
- 25:23the population of a particular country. Right.
- 25:25So, no, I get it. It's never clean, if that makes
- 25:27sense. Well, if it's clean, it's nothing.
- 25:34There's a No Kings protest. Exactly. That's exactly
- 25:41right. If you want to see this,
- 25:44hey, the No Kings organizers can pat themselves
- 25:47on the ass this morning and say, look at us.
- 25:49We're not like France. We didn't, no
- 25:52store windows were broken. No shops were looted.
- 25:55No store owners were inconvenienced. Hell, there
- 25:59wasn't even heavy traffic. Nothing happened.
- 26:02Because it has no impact. The difference between
- 26:05an ordinary Saturday afternoon and a Saturday
- 26:11full of No Kings rallies equals zero. There's
- 26:14nothing going on. They don't threaten the state.
- 26:17The French protests do. There's a difference.
- 26:22That's exactly it. One thing I was
- 26:25thinking about, too, is just to contrast the
- 26:28Tiananmen Square protests and how the Chinese
- 26:30government dealt with that versus what's going
- 26:34on in France right now and how Macron's dealing
- 26:37with that. Well, it's pretty similar. The CRS
- 26:38is more of the Tiananmen Square Chinese government
- 26:41approach. Well, I don't see the French out there
- 26:44massacring people, running them over with tanks.
- 26:48So I'm just saying, all things considered, the
- 26:50French should be really lucky that they're doing
- 26:53this crap in France, in these weak Western European
- 26:55countries, and not in their serious country like
- 26:57China. Protesters have and will die in France
- 26:59as a result of brutal police tactics.
- 27:03There's nothing to be... It's scary to be on
- 27:06the streets when the CRS is coming after you.
- 27:10They are fucking goons. And they are
- 27:13despised by the labor movement, by
- 27:17the student groups, by working-class people. Everyone
- 27:21hates them. These are not like officer
- 27:25friendly. I have a question. Do you want to put
- 27:27up that poster, that video? Yeah, I'll
- 27:29throw it up, but just a quick question. How long
- 27:32do you think it'll be before the EU leadership
- 27:33out of Brussels starts blaming this on the Russians?
- 27:36That's a serious question. Or the Chinese or
- 27:40Iranians. Yeah. How long do you think it will
- 27:41be before they say these protests are being whipped
- 27:44up by Iranian or Russian agent provocateurs?
- 27:48I don't think they're going to do that. They
- 27:51can't get away with it. It's too obvious what
- 27:53this is. It's like student protests. Okay, the
- 27:57Russians whipped the students up, right? Or the
- 28:00woman being dragged out of her house and dying
- 28:04as a result of them dragging her out of her house.
- 28:06Right. She was an Iranian sleeper agent.
- 28:08Italy is a little different, I suppose, but it's
- 28:12still the same issue. How it's like you guys
- 28:15are giving all of this money. Yeah, here it is.
- 28:18Let's have it. Kill the music. Kill the music.
- 28:23Don't kill the music. Robby, you gotta kill
- 28:32the music. I didn't have to kill the music, dude.
- 28:37I killed it. The music is gone. Hopefully we don't
- 28:40get struck, dear YouTube gods. Every show muted
- 29:12on my end, and I could not hear it. That is the
- 29:17most French thing that I've ever seen. And there's
- 29:21a part of it where he's in like the finger to
- 29:24the cops and stuff like that. And I thought to
- 29:25myself, that is amazing. How does the state lose?
- 29:27I was having a conversation with Jason Smith
- 29:32earlier. Once you've lost Pink Panther, you've
- 29:34lost France. Yeah. Well, no, I guess I was thinking,
- 29:36how do you lose a population like this?
- 29:40How does your population get to this level where
- 29:43they're this angry that they come out in order
- 29:45to just basically end up fighting cops?
- 29:48Even if they didn't go out there with the intention
- 29:52of doing that, it escalates to that particular
- 29:53point where you get a large share. And again,
- 29:55this wasn't like 100 people. It's with thousands
- 29:57of people, right? Well, this is also, part of
- 30:01it is that the French have a lower, they have
- 30:04a lower tolerance for bullshit than Americans
- 30:06do. So if, look, those schools
- 30:08that the French are complaining about? Oh. Most
- 30:12Americans would love their kids to go to a school
- 30:15that looked like that. They're in much better
- 30:17condition than ours, right? So the French basically
- 30:20don't put up with bullshit. They know, they internalize
- 30:24the fact that the idea that the government is
- 30:29there to serve them, that that's why they pay
- 30:32taxes, and they expect their government to deliver
- 30:34for them. They also know that they shouldn't
- 30:37trust their government and that their government
- 30:40can't, you can't just outsource. In the case
- 30:42of France, every five years to the president
- 30:45and, okay, well, we voted for you. Now we hope
- 30:47you do a good job, and you go back to work. It's
- 30:50not like that in France. I want to address something
- 30:52Robby said, saying they should be lucky that
- 30:55this is not the Chinese government and the Chinese
- 30:58government just mowed them down. I just had a
- 30:59guest who was on the show talking about China.
- 31:02And if you talk to the Chinese and you ask them
- 31:04how they feel about their government, they would
- 31:08say it's competent, and we basically believe in
- 31:10it because the government has effectively raised
- 31:13so many people out of poverty over the course
- 31:14of the, I don't know, what, 20 years. The mandate
- 31:16of heaven. You're competent. You're doing your
- 31:20job. You're getting us out of poverty. You've
- 31:23made us a world leader in this particular case.
- 31:25You have a blessing for it. But there are liberal
- 31:27values, right? And it is a benefit of France
- 31:30to have liberal values in that way, that they
- 31:35don't bring out tanks and mow people down. That's
- 31:38not a positive, right? That's not something
- 31:40that you should try to emulate. Hey, we have
- 31:43people who are very angry at the things the government
- 31:45has been doing. And so let's murder our population
- 31:48because they're angry about the things that our
- 31:51government is doing. There is something to be
- 31:53said for, quote, liberal values in the way that
- 31:55they call them. And restraint is built into it,
- 31:57especially in the context of people who are rioting
- 32:00against their government. That's not a positive.
- 32:02Now, I'm glad that you brought that up.
- 32:05Here's the thing. Okay, so in the Tulip
- 32:07Revolution, that was basically a CIA operation
- 32:10against the government of Kyrgyzstan. They overthrew
- 32:13President Akayev, who was the first democratically
- 32:16elected president of a Central Asian republic.
- 32:20Basically, the CIA recruited a bunch of Islamists,
- 32:25and they marched on Bishkek and overthrew him.
- 32:28He had the opportunity, he had the option
- 32:31to order his troops, his presidential guard, to fire
- 32:36on the crowd before they rushed the presidential
- 32:38palace. He forbade it. He said, no Kyrgyz should
- 32:41die because of my government. If the Kyrgyz people
- 32:44don't want me, I will not be here. And I think
- 32:47honestly I don't think any government should
- 32:50really be. I don't know if it's ever appropriate
- 32:54for a government to use force like that against
- 32:59its people. If things get to that point,
- 33:01because the government's supposed to
- 33:04serve the people. If the people are that pissed
- 33:05that you feel compelled to go and shoot at them,
- 33:08you're the problem, not them. And this is why
- 33:12color revolutions are so effective. Well, the
- 33:18color revolutions were pulled by,
- 33:23they were puppets, right? They were
- 33:26pulled by external. They were manipulated by
- 33:29the U.S. That's my point. You have a huge amount
- 33:31of the population that is either being manipulated
- 33:35or, for that matter, paid with all sorts of NGOs,
- 33:37all sorts of media. I'm not counting that. But
- 33:40in France, that's not the situation, right?
- 33:42There's no evidence or accusation of
- 33:45foreign interference here. I know. I'm not saying
- 33:48that. Yeah. So I'm just saying, in the
- 33:51case of France, if I'm President Macron,
- 33:53waking up every morning with my
- 33:58former teacher beating me up, I'm thinking,
- 34:00if this, if they don't, okay,
- 34:04look, I had a job as a tutor in East Harlem.
- 34:08And the kids were spicy. They were middle schoolers.
- 34:12And I remember they would throw
- 34:15chairs at each other. They'd break windows. And
- 34:17I just hated it. At a certain point, I was like,
- 34:20I don't want to be a cop. I want to teach these
- 34:23kids math. And if they don't want to learn math,
- 34:25then bless them. I'm out. Right. And so I quit.
- 34:27Right. I can't be effective here. Right. Right.
- 34:32Yeah. And if they don't want me, okay, fine.
- 34:36I'm not going to shove math down their
- 34:38throats. Right. Okay. I kind of feel
- 34:41like if I were Macron, I would feel that way.
- 34:44If they don't like me, if they don't
- 34:46like the cut of my jib anymore, okay, bye. I'll
- 34:48quit. I'll resign. That's what he should do.
- 34:52And his party kept losing. There's that. And
- 34:54he's at 10% in the polls, too. Yeah. And even
- 34:58with the prime ministership, right, where he
- 35:02effectively gained it to where he was in control
- 35:03of something that the public didn't necessarily
- 35:06want him to be in control of because they voted
- 35:07for the AFD and they voted for the, what is it,
- 35:09Unbowed. I think it's going about. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 35:11He doesn't even have political legitimacy in
- 35:15real terms. It's like, yes, you're, and he's a lame
- 35:21duck on top of it, and he's the lame duck on top
- 35:23of it. So, yeah, it's like, okay, this doesn't
- 35:25look good for you right now. I was saying, JT, I
- 35:28think that you might be right. I was how I asked
- 35:33y'all how long will this be before they blame
- 35:35these protests on the Russians or the Iranians.
- 35:37They blame them. No, no, they haven't. I don't
- 35:40think that they can, because remember back before
- 35:43Trump started his war against Iran, what did
- 35:45the American and the Israeli government do? They
- 35:48whipped up all these riots, basically tried to
- 35:50foment a rebellion against the Iranian government.
- 35:52Yes. And then the Iranian government does what
- 35:54governments do. Government is not a teddy bear.
- 35:57Government is force. They used force. They stacked
- 35:59a lot of bodies, and they put it down. Yes.
- 36:02That happened. And just to be clear, though,
- 36:06that happened because those protesters that you
- 36:09pointed out was whipped up by the Israelis and
- 36:11the Americans in order to destabilize the government.
- 36:13100%. And so then... A force of sorts. For sure.
- 36:16And that's why the French could not blame this
- 36:22on the Russians because if they did, they would
- 36:24have to start stacking bodies of their own people
- 36:27in their own streets and then make that same
- 36:28argument. These people are not protesters, they're
- 36:30rebels. And I don't think the French got the
- 36:32spine to do that. By the way, the French know
- 36:34a little bit more. Rebels from where? The French
- 36:35definitely know their history better. Well,
- 36:38think about what I just now said. The Iranian
- 36:40protesters started because they were whipped
- 36:44up by American and Israeli agent provocateurs
- 36:47to try to overthrow the government of the state.
- 36:50The Iranian government responded in an act of
- 36:54self-defense and started stacking bodies because
- 36:56that's what governments do. Government is force.
- 36:58It is fire. That's what it does. Right, but nobody's
- 37:00whipping this up. These are just French. I understand
- 37:04that. This is indigenous. And I was answering
- 37:06my own question. This is why the French, this is
- 37:09why I'm sorry, this is why the French could not
- 37:11go out and say this is the Russians, because then
- 37:13the nationals, then the response would have been
- 37:16if that is true, if these are agent factors working
- 37:18for another nation, why are you not stacking them
- 37:21on a main street there in Paris? That's
- 37:24why. That's why they can't do it because the
- 37:28optics doesn't make any sense. No, I don't think
- 37:31yeah, I agree with you. I think it would be hard.
- 37:33These people are idiots. They made all
- 37:35sorts of weird arguments in the past, but that
- 37:38will be a tough one. Yeah, it's impossible. Removing
- 37:41the agency of the people who are basically doing
- 37:44the protests and the reasons that they were doing
- 37:46the protests. And again, they started off students.
- 37:48I have a theory of protests that they always
- 37:50escalate. That if you can't snuff it out very
- 37:53early on, that the people and the demands start
- 37:58to get higher and higher. Because at that point,
- 38:01they start to confer, they start to talk, they
- 38:04start to engage each other. And in engaging each
- 38:05other, they become somewhat of a movement in
- 38:08and of itself saying, this is what we want. Whereas
- 38:09before, it might have started off as something
- 38:12small. Well, we care about the schools. And then
- 38:13it becomes, we want the state to fail at some
- 38:15point, right? It never fails. And if these protests
- 38:18continue on, like the Yellow Vest movement, their
- 38:23demands will escalate. Agreed. We have a lot
- 38:25of comments, so we should hit them. Where
- 38:30the gopher tortoise roam. Hey, Ted, what about the
- 38:32MAGA chuds who beat the shit out of the rotund
- 38:35woman with the Release the Epstein Files shirt
- 38:39at the Trump rally? That was very disturbing. Yeah,
- 38:41that is. That was here. That was when Trump was
- 38:45here in Kalispell. Here on Thursday, was it? It
- 38:48was here. That's the first time I've ever seen
- 38:50it. Saw a No Kings rally. It was about, I don't
- 38:52know, maybe 20 boomers with their little signs,
- 38:56standing there in front of the Majestic Arena
- 38:59there on Highway 93, just standing there. It
- 39:02was, talk about flaccid. It was really sad. It's
- 39:06really the right word. So what about this woman?
- 39:11I thought Republicans believed in traditional
- 39:14values, which, protecting, not beating
- 39:18up women seems like at the core of that. Where
- 39:21did you get that idea from? It's unfortunate
- 39:24to see decent white men acting that way. Something
- 39:27like that. You said that they caught him on the
- 39:30uptake at January. He's right. He said white men,
- 39:32decent black man. You're not, you're not supposed
- 39:37to act like that. Yeah, you're a guy. She's
- 39:40a woman. What the are you doing? Yeah, they beat
- 39:43out that woman. Yeah, it's crazy. If you
- 39:47look at a Trump rally, watch the overwhelming
- 39:51demographic of people at a Trump rally. It's
- 39:52white dudes. That's the majority of it.
- 39:56Well, anyway, they have women with them. Sure.
- 39:59I get that, but I'm talking about just the majority.
- 40:03You need to break down. There are people from
- 40:07my church. Oh, yeah, there's no question. It's
- 40:09just like, oh, yeah, we got to go see the God
- 40:11Emperor Trump. But also, who lives in Montana?
- 40:14By the way, I can't get into the mind of people
- 40:16when they're looking at Trump sometimes. Sometimes
- 40:20it blows my mind to hear people say stuff like
- 40:23that when I've seen interviews or debates
- 40:24and stuff. And people like, for example, there's
- 40:27this guy who would go to a bar. He would
- 40:29be talking to people. All of these people are
- 40:31Trump supporters. And they would be saying stuff
- 40:33like, no, Donald Trump is doing this. And it's
- 40:35like five-dimensional chess because he's trying
- 40:39to do this. And the guy points out to him,
- 40:40dude, you're not making sense. But they believe
- 40:42it. Are they really like that in Kalispell, Montana?
- 40:46Meaning there's, are they still true believers
- 40:49in that way? Some are. Not as many. It's
- 40:53Trump has lost. Trump has lost the working class
- 40:57here. Listen, there's a reason why he was here
- 41:00in the reddest of red districts in a red state.
- 41:03It's because the ranchers are not going to turn
- 41:06out for them. They're pissed off because diesel prices and then Trump importing millions
- 41:09of tons of Argentine beef. The workers are not
- 41:11going to turn out for them because most workers
- 41:14are having to leave because they can't afford
- 41:19to live here just because the cost of housing
- 41:20or else is so high. Yeah. It's the entire coalition
- 41:22that he built, that he built is falling around.
- 41:25And you have Aaron Flint here say, oh, we need
- 41:29to build more data centers here in the middle
- 41:32of Northwest Montana. When we do not have the
- 41:33infrastructure to support it from an electrical
- 41:36standpoint, forget about just the, just how many
- 41:39thousands of acres of forest. So you're going
- 41:42to have to cut down and make this thing happen.
- 41:45The power grid can't do it. And then Trump said,
- 41:47we've got to have Aaron Flint. We've got to deal
- 41:50with Iran. Iran's got to be defeated very quickly.
- 41:53Meanwhile, three quarters. A little late for
- 41:56that. Half of the arena is empty. And people
- 41:59are like, dude, screw you. Wow. Well, I'm glad
- 42:00you brought up, Robby, I wanted to talk about
- 42:05that anyway. So we should talk about the poll,
- 42:09right? So we talked about the AP-NORC poll hitting
- 42:11a record low about a week ago. 32%. All the polls
- 42:13are a little bit different because the measurements,
- 42:17they, there are different. But the
- 42:22Washington Post, if so's poll is now down to
- 42:24a record low, also 33%. That's just the
- 42:26trend across the board. And that's not going
- 42:28to change. It's going to be a 66% disapproval
- 42:32rating, right? So the president is 33 points
- 42:37underwater. Democrats basically are projected
- 42:41now to take back the Senate as well as the House
- 42:43of Representatives. Obviously, those
- 42:48polls have been less reliable recently than they
- 42:51have been in the past. But, yeah, I'm on Team
- 42:54Jamarl here. I think there's no question,
- 42:57the Democrats are going to have an amazing
- 43:00night a couple of weeks from now.
- 43:05I think it's going to be historic. I don't even
- 43:09know the argument. When Mike Johnson and
- 43:11these guys are making the arguments that the
- 43:14polls are obviously wrong, it's like all of
- 43:16them. It's like every last one of them. It's like
- 43:20it's not like they're telling a different story,
- 43:24right? It's not like there's no undecideds, right?
- 43:25That's what went wrong in a lot of these polls
- 43:29that went wrong is with Saeed. It's like
- 43:31there were tons of undecideds, and we just focused
- 43:33on the spread between the pro, the pros and
- 43:36the cons, right? But when there's not a ton
- 43:39of undecideds here when it comes to the midterms,
- 43:42yeah, and I gotta be honest with you. I wasn't
- 43:45even paying attention to the individual races.
- 43:47It just, it's a model. How the president goes,
- 43:49especially if he's a luminary like Trump, so
- 43:53goes the party. People are furious. The president
- 43:56is always on the ballot. That's my argument.
- 43:59I've always made the argument. The president
- 44:01is always on the ballot. And the public, especially
- 44:02for somebody like Trump, doubly so. Because Donald
- 44:05Trump is everywhere. Donald Trump was like...
- 44:08As Robby's saying, he's out there giving stump
- 44:10speeches while he's at 33% approval. And he's
- 44:12like hamming it up to the audience. He's like,
- 44:16I beat the shit out of Iran. Gas prices are low.
- 44:18Prices are low. Everything is
- 44:23great. And it's like you're making this argument
- 44:26to people who are suffering. Yeah. You're literally
- 44:28like, you're welcome. I'm awesome. You should
- 44:31be thanking me. And he's monetized to the tune
- 44:36of billions of dollars. So it's like, not only
- 44:39are you making other people poor, you're getting
- 44:41richer while they're getting poorer. And you're
- 44:44out here on the stage. Good sense would be if
- 44:46Donald Trump gave a shit about anybody other
- 44:50than himself to just shut up. Honestly, yeah,
- 44:52big cup of shut the fuck up. Yeah, he doesn't
- 44:56do that. He goes out of his rally. Thanks for
- 44:58the five bucks. I hope they burn it to the ground
- 45:02for what they did to Africa. England is next.
- 45:05What's happened, Mr. A. Lee says, what's happening
- 45:08in France isn't immigration. It's the economy.
- 45:12True. And okay. And Blake, it's Milk Me Monday
- 45:14with Ted Rall. Blah, blah, blah. What a legend.
- 45:22Sent Senali back last year and expel every non
- 45:25-indigenous French person from France leaves
- 45:27today. Let's go. Five dollars. We're getting closer.
- 45:30Keep the fibers coming. We need a little
- 45:33graphic that we can show every time that comes
- 45:37up. Yeah, we're going to have to develop that.
- 45:39Okay, Douglas says the Sahel states in Central
- 45:43Africa have kicked France out, and now they're
- 45:49improving rapidly. France is funding terrorists
- 45:51to send back into those countries trying to destabilize
- 45:53them. France needs more rioters. By the way,
- 45:56France was fucking that country over royally.
- 46:00The money that that government was... The amount
- 46:02that France was paying for, let's say, uranium,
- 46:05was like pennies on the dollar for what it was
- 46:07called. Yeah, the concessions were incredibly
- 46:10low. Yeah, the locals weren't getting anything.
- 46:12If you so, thanks for the buck. Robby, most
- 46:16of those French protesters look awfully white
- 46:19to me. You're regurgitating right-wing Trump
- 46:21propaganda. Well, it's also been cherry. The
- 46:23photos are cherry-picked, the ones that right
- 46:25-wing media puts up. Phileas Fogg, the EU has
- 46:27open internal borders but pays warlords in
- 46:30countries like Libya to stop immigrants crossing
- 46:33the Mediterranean from North Africa to Italy.
- 46:36Success in the Syrian war. They were paying Turkey
- 46:38to keep the basically don't allow the Syrians
- 46:42to come through to Europe. Yeah, and the Greeks
- 46:46kick them back into the Mediterranean
- 46:48if you so, but it's okay for the French to force
- 46:50their culture forcefully all across Africa.
- 46:52Right. This is not. This is just French policy.
- 46:58They decided to colonize. And now they're being,
- 47:04quote-unquote, colonized in a way that the right
- 47:06wing says. OK, but they did that. Right. Nobody
- 47:08told them to go to Africa. They went to Africa.
- 47:12Not to mention they had a policy for years that
- 47:15if you were an African citizen of
- 47:18a French colony like Cameroon, that you could
- 47:20immigrate freely to France. This is not really
- 47:23a new thing. They wanted the cheap labor.
- 47:25Rod and Goo, the violent protest of this weekend
- 47:29looks staged by the Macron regime. They knowingly
- 47:32let the rioters run wild by putting TV cameras
- 47:35on. I would say it's more likely provoked the
- 47:38rioters with the CRS cops. Well, that's a good
- 47:41point, though. What do you think of that, though,
- 47:45this idea of provocateurs that are added in order
- 47:46for the state to be able to say, hey, look how
- 47:49violent they are. Aren't they dangerous? Don't
- 47:51you want the state to put down this violence?
- 47:53Or do you think, no, I think there's a strong cost.
- 47:56I think there's a, well, I think it's mostly organic,
- 47:58but there's also a possibility that
- 48:00obviously there's a desire on the
- 48:03state to have an ex. They want the pretext, the
- 48:06excuse to crack down on all the protesters and
- 48:09quash them, right? Well, we know their agent provocateurs
- 48:12on January 6th. One of them is. It's
- 48:15all over the place. I agree with them, by the way.
- 48:19The word agent provocateur is a French word.
- 48:22I know. This isn't a new tactic. This
- 48:26is something the governments do all the time
- 48:29to make an opposition look bad so when they do
- 48:30start busting heads, they have a valid excuse
- 48:34to do it. Yep. This has happened all throughout
- 48:37history. This isn't new. No. With one caveat.
- 48:40Depends on how sustained the protest is. Because
- 48:44you may have protesters who need the government
- 48:47to kill in order to legitimate or to legitimize
- 48:49the protests that much more so. Meaning, if you
- 48:52can get the state to murder a lot of people,
- 48:54then you've, depending upon the country, you
- 48:57may piss off a lot of other people. Nepal is
- 49:00a really good example of this, right? There are
- 49:03protests, student protests. The state comes out,
- 49:05kills several of the kids that were at the protests.
- 49:07And the Nepalese start burning down buildings
- 49:10belonging to the state and burning down houses
- 49:13that were belonging to the people who were part
- 49:15of the state. Many, they didn't take that.
- 49:16Hey, they lost their. I jumped into the country
- 49:18immediately after they were doing this, and the
- 49:22guy explained it to me. So they killed the kids,
- 49:25and the people lost it. Yeah, but and that
- 49:27makes the point about why I brought up about
- 49:30France earlier. If they were just burning down
- 49:31government buildings and things like that, I would
- 49:33say rah, rah, rah, go at it. Yeah, but you may create
- 49:36a civil war, which is the kind of point I'm making
- 49:39in Nepal. When they killed those kids, the response
- 49:41of the public was fire, right?
- 49:43It was intolerable.
- 49:48The state fell as a result of them doing it.
- 49:51And don't forget, these protests in France began
- 49:53with kids also, and the cops, and they sent in
- 49:56riot cops to blow off the hands of
- 50:00kids, shoot them, blind them.
- 50:04These are children. I get that. And I guess what
- 50:07I'm hoping for is that the protesters are able
- 50:12to start self-policing and keep the
- 50:14thugs from looting grandma's corner store. I think
- 50:19that's a trap, to be honest. Yeah, and I think
- 50:23part of what pro offers a threat.
- 50:26I think first of all, if you're part of a
- 50:28left-wing protest movement or any protest
- 50:31movement, you can't be self-policing
- 50:33once you do that. You're going to start tearing
- 50:36yourself apart. You've got to keep moving and
- 50:39expanding and be dynamic and keep the powers
- 50:42that be guessing. At a certain point,
- 50:45you're riding a tiger, right? It's like
- 50:47shit's just happening now. Now it's like you're
- 50:51not in control. The government's not in control.
- 50:54It's a pre-revolutionary situation. Anything
- 50:57can happen and will happen. And you're not the
- 51:01state, and you shouldn't act like the state.
- 51:03So then if all this cantina gets looted, burned
- 51:08to the ground, you should just say, oh, well,
- 51:10my livelihood's up in smoke because these people
- 51:12are pissed off. That's why God invented insurance.
- 51:15If you can afford it, you'll be all right. Can
- 51:17you afford insurance if you are a business owner
- 51:20in France? If you can't afford insurance, it's
- 51:24like eating out. You can't afford a tip. You
- 51:26can't afford that day in business if you can't
- 51:28afford to. Yeah, you need insurance. Are
- 51:30you kidding? If you have a business, a store
- 51:33in France, you've got to know that it could burn
- 51:35down at some point. Yeah, you should have
- 51:37insurance. Okay, so there's insurance in France,
- 51:41no. People in Ferguson, they tried to
- 51:43file insurance to get recompensated for the riots
- 51:46that happened over there after Michael
- 51:50Brown got taken out, and those claims were not
- 51:53honored because Doug's
- 51:58burning down your store wasn't covered in your
- 52:00policy. Well, their mistake was they should have
- 52:02burned down the insurance company. But okay.
- 52:05Anyway. That's my point. There comes
- 52:08a point where you got to have the public with
- 52:10you. I actually think it's both. Things
- 52:13can be both, right? It sucks that grandma lost
- 52:16her business. Yeah. I don't want that. It's like
- 52:19she only sold cookies, and she was a very nice
- 52:21person. And yet they burned that shit down because
- 52:23ultimately she was just there. It's like a hurricane.
- 52:26By the same token, yeah, I don't think you can
- 52:29police your people like talking about. At a certain
- 52:31point, you lose control in general. Let's
- 52:33say in 90, what is it? It was like 90%
- 52:36of the protests that took place for Black Lives
- 52:38Matter were peaceful. The other 10%, less so.
- 52:42And it's like, okay, how do you really, yeah,
- 52:44how do you police that 10%? And do you, yeah,
- 52:49I don't think you can. Because then you just
- 52:52become cops yourselves. It looks bad
- 52:55when people loot liquor stores and have a protest
- 52:57claiming that they're doing it for the rights
- 53:00of Blacks. Yeah, it looks bad. That looks horrible.
- 53:04I don't want that on Fox News. But how do I stop
- 53:06the thugs and the goons from doing that as I'm
- 53:08trying to prosecute my case? You can't. I don't
- 53:11know if you can. No, you just can't.
- 53:13It's kind of like this is just kind of party
- 53:17to the process. It's what a revolutionary protest
- 53:20looks like. Rod and Goo, thanks for the 10 euros.
- 53:23The goal is to scare the normies and push them
- 53:26to ask for a NATO authoritarian regime and shut
- 53:30up about the incoming austerity. Macron doesn't
- 53:34want anyone to bring up how he has bankrupted
- 53:36the country. He has bankrupted the country. And
- 53:39of course, Nord Stream did not help. Yes, great
- 53:44point. But see, from my point of view. If they
- 53:47don't do anything, Europe is trying to push these
- 53:49people into a fight with the Russians. Rebellion
- 53:53might be the only way out, unless they have a
- 53:56political solution to the issue. Well,
- 53:59so, yeah, I don't know if, yeah, I don't
- 54:02know how electoral college, right now,
- 54:05if we had the French elections, which
- 54:08are scheduled for the, I think, spring of next
- 54:11year, you're going to be looking at... It looks
- 54:15like there's not going to be a significant centrist
- 54:18component there. It's going to be a battle between
- 54:21Marine Le Pen and Jean-Luc Mélenchon of La France
- 54:25Insoumise. And so it's going to be left versus
- 54:28right, which means the French people are going
- 54:30to have a clear, decisive decision to make at
- 54:34the polls. I'm envious of them. It's going to
- 54:37be super exciting. They're first going to have
- 54:39a two-part election. There's going to be dozens
- 54:42of parties, but those two are going to be in
- 54:45the runoff, probably. She certainly will be,
- 54:48whether Mélenchon makes it. Right now,
- 54:52of course, it's so interesting because the powers
- 54:55that be, like Macron, are blaming the left, but
- 54:58not the right, for all the problems. And so you
- 55:01can sort of see where their bread is ultimately
- 55:04buttered. Centrists are basically conservatives.
- 55:08What do you think? What do you think the public
- 55:11will go with that? I'm very curious. Do you think
- 55:15they would go the unbalanced direction? Do you
- 55:17think they would go the national reality direction?
- 55:19I don't. Right now, the polls indicate that it
- 55:22would go to Le Pen. But it's a long
- 55:29way between now and the elections.
- 55:33It could, yeah. The LFI has to be able
- 55:38to put together a platform that combines the
- 55:42sweet spot of a better life, optimism, as well
- 55:47as law and order. That's kind of the thread,
- 55:50the needle that Mélenchon is going to have to
- 55:53thread. And he can't really talk about
- 55:56law and order right now while this is all going
- 55:58on. But there would have to be sort of a,
- 56:01if I were him. The argument I would
- 56:04make to the French people would go something
- 56:06along the lines of, look, law and order
- 56:10is useless if people are poor and starving. And
- 56:15peace will naturally restore when these issues
- 56:20are finally addressed. It's like the
- 56:24people are not really to blame for getting angry
- 56:27after years of provocation. That would be my...
- 56:30You kept poking this bear, and finally it bit
- 56:36you. How is he going to deal with the French
- 56:39budget? That's the other issue, right? One idea
- 56:44that he has is to write off part of the debt.
- 56:47Countries have done that. They've defaulted on
- 56:49their debt. I can't imagine he would do that.
- 56:53Look, the French have things they could do. First
- 56:57of all, the French economy is... The economy
- 57:02itself is vibrant. They have high productivity.
- 57:04They have a lot of great industries. What they
- 57:10have is serious problems with perpetual long
- 57:13-term unemployment. A lot of companies have trouble
- 57:19paying their retirees because of the demographics,
- 57:22because of the low birth rate. So they have to
- 57:24address issues like that. But, for
- 57:27example, can you imagine if the LFI
- 57:30were to come to power? And by the way, Mélenchon
- 57:32could say this, one of my first acts will be
- 57:34to get to make nice with Putin. I'll
- 57:38restore France's traditional friendly
- 57:42relations with Russia, which go back hundreds
- 57:44of years. It's like we're not, we're
- 57:47not gonna keep doing this way. Let's
- 57:49finish. Let's rebuild Nord Stream.
- 57:52Let's get, make an energy, get
- 57:55our, get affordable energy into the French
- 57:58economy. There's a lot of things they can do.
- 58:01Well, also they don't control their own currency,
- 58:03which is the main point, right? It's the
- 58:06break. Well, the LFI would definitely both made
- 58:09the left and the right would break away from.
- 58:11They would definitely break away from the monetary
- 58:13union if they could. Really? So, yeah, they might
- 58:17stay in the EU politically, but they would probably
- 58:20want more kind of the deal that the UK had before
- 58:23Brexit, where they have their own currency and
- 58:26they're in charge of their own destiny. That's the thing, too, right? France and Germany,
- 58:28they still, it's so funny because technically
- 58:30the mark and the franc still sort of exist in
- 58:32an abstract floating zone. And those back up
- 58:36the euro far disproportionately more than
- 58:39the Mediterranean countries like
- 58:42Greece and Italy. They're subsidizing the rest
- 58:44of the EU, and they can't afford it. True, but are
- 58:46they going to do anything about it? That's the
- 58:51catch. Meaning if Mélenchon gets in the
- 58:53office, A, they're going to have to deal with the
- 58:56debt. They're going to deal with the fact that
- 58:58the interest rate in France is basically higher
- 59:00than anywhere else, which means they have so much
- 59:02money to pay back. And they're gonna have to
- 59:04deal with the fact that that's not. By the way,
- 59:06we have the same issue here in these states, right?
- 59:09Our interest rate is low because we are the world
- 59:11currency. But $40 trillion in debt, $2 trillion
- 59:13a year that we're paying on it. That number is
- 59:17accelerating, by the way. That number is going
- 59:19up with Trump. And the moment that the big, beautiful
- 59:20bill comes into full fruition, that number is
- 59:22going to go through the roof. It's going to be
- 59:24like $50 trillion in debt. And nobody is saying,
- 59:26how do we pay this back? And I guess I'm saying,
- 59:29is it France in the same spot? Especially for
- 59:31somebody like Mélenchon coming in. No, France
- 59:33has major, they do have major problems. And they're
- 59:34going to have to deal with it. And they don't
- 59:37even control their own currency. So maybe he
- 59:38does something dramatic. But if France does something
- 59:41dramatic, that destroys the European Union. France
- 59:43would have to end its pension system.
- 59:46That's what people don't want to admit. That's
- 59:50what's going to have to happen. If you don't
- 59:52have enough, if you have told your population
- 59:55you no longer need to have kids because they're
- 59:59an inconvenience, and then you don't have those
- 1:00:02kids anymore to continue paying taxes for the
- 1:00:05old people, then the entire thing just implodes.
- 1:00:07So either A, you got to start telling Frenchies
- 1:00:12to start having more babies, or B, you got to
- 1:00:14cough grandma off of her pension checks. It's
- 1:00:17a binary choice. Why don't they start having
- 1:00:21more kids, Ted? They don't like having sex. It's
- 1:00:22supposed to be the city of love. It's supposed
- 1:00:26to be the country of love, right? France is the
- 1:00:29country that has porn on their regular TV show
- 1:00:31or channels, right? Are they able to show women's
- 1:00:34breasts on their regular TV? Yeah, we don't do
- 1:00:36that shit in America. So how does that country
- 1:00:39not have enough babies? The real problem
- 1:00:41is that to be if you're 18, 19, 25
- 1:00:45years old in France, you're fucking poor. You
- 1:00:49know, there's, it's impossible to find a job or
- 1:00:53even if you find a job to find a good job. So
- 1:00:56basically, it's kind of like an extreme version
- 1:00:59of what happened to Gen X here in the United
- 1:01:01States when Gen X got out of high
- 1:01:04school and college and they found that
- 1:01:07they had to postpone marriage and having kids
- 1:01:09and buying a car and all that because they were
- 1:01:11so poor. So by the time they're able
- 1:01:13to afford to get into the work, you don't really
- 1:01:17get into the workplace in France until in the
- 1:01:20real workplace until you're in your 30s or even
- 1:01:2340s. That's the problem. Yeah, Japan and South Korea
- 1:01:25have the same problem. Yeah, we do have the same
- 1:01:28problem, I think. Yeah, that would be. I would
- 1:01:31be full-on 100% supporting it. People are calling
- 1:01:35me the commie. I will gladly get the hammer and
- 1:01:39sickle. If you would march on the Marseilles
- 1:01:41Palace, burn Paris to the ground, burn the Imperial
- 1:01:44Palace in Tokyo to the ground, burn the Presidential
- 1:01:48Palace in Seoul to the ground, and say, you are
- 1:01:50going to end this. We are going to take our futures
- 1:01:53back. We do not live for you. You work for us.
- 1:01:55You're going to fix this economic problem. We're
- 1:01:57going to have kids. Eat a dick. That's a revolution
- 1:02:00I could 100% get on board with. So, we should
- 1:02:03keep talking because we have a lot. We should
- 1:02:09move on. We have a lot more to talk about. By
- 1:02:13the way, just a little bit of housekeeping. On
- 1:02:16Thursday, later in the week, we will have Thaddeus
- 1:02:18Russell, the author of Savior and Seducer, Renegade
- 1:02:22History of the United States in the World. His
- 1:02:26thesis is basically that the U.S. likes to brutalize
- 1:02:29foreigners through its foreign policy and seduce
- 1:02:34them through their pop culture. And this one
- 1:02:38later in next week, we're going to have Steve
- 1:02:41Kinzer, author of Boiling Point. I just finished
- 1:02:44it. How America brought the war to Ukraine. OK,
- 1:02:47so he's spot on because he even talks
- 1:02:50about how the Biden administration shut down
- 1:02:53RT and Sputnik. Does he? He does. Does he? Not
- 1:02:56approvingly. Not approvingly at all. Oh, I love
- 1:03:01him already. Yeah, no, he's totally spot on talking
- 1:03:06about how the U.S. pulled the
- 1:03:11strings at Maidan, kowtowed to neo
- 1:03:14-Nazis, propped up neo-Nazis, and how Ukraine,
- 1:03:18U.S. support for Ukraine is a giant fucking
- 1:03:22scam. But what I did not know was how
- 1:03:24far back this went, that the United States has
- 1:03:28been using Ukraine as a lever against the USSR
- 1:03:31and then the Russian Federation going back at
- 1:03:34least to the 1940s. And they've had a, this has
- 1:03:37been a CIA project from day one. It's fascinating.
- 1:03:41And so he's a big get, by the way. So we are
- 1:03:45here until 11 o'clock today, so please stay
- 1:03:51tuned. We are a two-hour show, Monday, Wednesdays,
- 1:03:55and Fridays, one hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- 1:03:59Okay. Question. Oh, we have a couple more comments.
- 1:04:03I see some of these comments. These comments
- 1:04:07aren't free. All right, PW Walker. Dems have
- 1:04:08the 2016... Hillary rotten Clinton problem. Media
- 1:04:13keeps saying Dems will win, so Dems will think
- 1:04:17we're winning anyways, so I don't need to bother
- 1:04:19to vote. And thanks for the $5. I appreciate
- 1:04:21that comment, but I don't think that's going
- 1:04:25to happen that way. And the reason I don't think
- 1:04:27that's going to happen that way is because I
- 1:04:29think people are going to be very enthused to
- 1:04:30vote against Trump, especially with the numbers.
- 1:04:31That's what I think, too. Also, it's a whole
- 1:04:34different world now. Most voters are now casting
- 1:04:38their vote by mail. It's so much easier to vote.
- 1:04:41A lot of municipalities send you your
- 1:04:46ballot. It just comes in the mail. And you're
- 1:04:48like, all you have to do is put that back into
- 1:04:51your mailbox with the little flag up. And that's
- 1:04:53it. You don't have to go see the old ladies down
- 1:04:56at the precinct in the church or in the firehouse.
- 1:04:58It's like, voting is easier than it used
- 1:05:01to be. I think that's a huge thing. I can vote
- 1:05:04in my underwear. But does voting matter? That's
- 1:05:08the question. Well, that is the answer, of course.
- 1:05:14Oh, well, you mean next year when the Democrats
- 1:05:18have the House and the Senate, and the, and they're
- 1:05:21talking about how they can't change anything
- 1:05:24and they can't do anything, and how the economy
- 1:05:26still sucks, and that prices are still going up,
- 1:05:28and that wages are still going down. You mean
- 1:05:31in that way, is it going to mean anything?
- 1:05:33Yeah, correct. Well, people are because in France
- 1:05:36you would go out and go down, go out and burn
- 1:05:44down your city hall, but here you either have
- 1:05:46the choice of a flaccid march or to,
- 1:05:50every two to four years, you can rant at the
- 1:05:53party, the incumbent party, and vote against
- 1:05:55them and turn them out and then end up hating
- 1:05:58the party that you voted for. People are flailing.
- 1:06:00Americans are basically, we're lost. We are disorganized
- 1:06:05and we're lost. It's like a married couple where
- 1:06:11one side yells at the other, but the other knows
- 1:06:15that the person who's yelling is not really ever
- 1:06:18going to do anything. It's like, okay, I have
- 1:06:20to accept you being pissed off at me, but you're
- 1:06:22not going anywhere. We hate each other, but nobody's
- 1:06:25getting divorced. Yeah, but nobody's getting
- 1:06:30divorced. It's that, right? Which is very frustrating.
- 1:06:32But it's because that one side doesn't necessarily
- 1:06:36know where to go. And I think that's the way
- 1:06:40with the Americans in politics. They've been
- 1:06:43taught for the longest time there are two political
- 1:06:46parties, Democrats and Republicans, and you have
- 1:06:47your choice of one or the other. That's what
- 1:06:49you've been taught. That's what you've been programmed
- 1:06:51to believe. And as you grow up, you just believe
- 1:06:53it. And the idea of something beyond the boundaries
- 1:06:55of these two things don't even really come into
- 1:06:58contact. It doesn't really apply. And you
- 1:07:01would get people who would fight vigorously.
- 1:07:04We shouldn't talk about third parties because
- 1:07:05we need to focus on this particular election.
- 1:07:07They've been saying this shit for like 30, 40
- 1:07:09years and probably longer. Well, we shouldn't
- 1:07:11talk about third parties. Third parties are interesting,
- 1:07:14but we should talk about those later after the
- 1:07:16election. At some other point in the future.
- 1:07:18Not this time. During this very important election,
- 1:07:21the most important election of our lifetimes,
- 1:07:24we cannot talk about it this time. Every year
- 1:07:26they say it. Every year they say it. Every time.
- 1:07:30Nancy Pelosi, I remember, I will never forget
- 1:07:33it, because it shows how cynical they are. She
- 1:07:36was like, they'll come back. They will get tired
- 1:07:38of them. Where else will they go? Where else
- 1:07:41will they go? And you think to yourself, I suspect
- 1:07:44that's the position that Americans are in. Where
- 1:07:47do we go? And they haven't come to some kind
- 1:07:50of consensus that there's more beyond these two.
- 1:07:53Correct. Well, then, to answer your question.
- 1:07:56This is like one of those dystopian sci-fi movies
- 1:07:59or shows where people are living in a bubble
- 1:08:02city. And they're told, we can't go outside.
- 1:08:05It's all irradiated due to World War III. It's
- 1:08:09like, if you go out there, you'll die. It's all
- 1:08:12cannibals. Who knows? And you're waiting for
- 1:08:14that moment for someone cool to
- 1:08:19to break out and say, I'm gonna check
- 1:08:23that out for myself. I'm not so sure I believe
- 1:08:25you. So then basically, so basically what y'all
- 1:08:27are saying is right now it's like a, it's like
- 1:08:33a bad marriage where the people are screaming
- 1:08:35each other. I think where you'll see if something
- 1:08:37changes, and I'm sure that you both have have
- 1:08:39known people who are married who are in bad marriages
- 1:08:42and getting a divorce. It's not yelling and screaming.
- 1:08:45It's when they stop screaming at each other. That's
- 1:08:47when stuff gets bad. Well, that's when the divorce
- 1:08:49is imminent. Yeah, I wonder when or if the American
- 1:08:53people can rouse themselves from their slumber
- 1:08:57to even be bothered at this point. Yeah, at sufficient
- 1:09:01pain levels, I suppose. Look, I think the RFK
- 1:09:06quote that's attributed to him is right, which
- 1:09:10is, before revolution, revolution seems impossible.
- 1:09:14After revolution, revolution looks like it was
- 1:09:16inevitable. Yeah, we just right now we
- 1:09:19just can't see it because we don't know what,
- 1:09:23obviously we don't know the future. Okay, yeah,
- 1:09:2415 minutes left. Okay, shall we talk about? I'm
- 1:09:29interested in this in Putin's idea for a summit.
- 1:09:34Yeah, so Putin decided it has apparently they
- 1:09:38are currently considering having a summit meeting
- 1:09:44next month between the leaders of Russia, the
- 1:09:47United States, and China to try to figure out
- 1:09:51a landing for the Russia war. Obviously Trump's
- 1:09:55really at a, Trump's relationship with Zelensky
- 1:09:58is, he has had its ups and downs. This is one
- 1:10:01of its biggest downs, I would say. He's really
- 1:10:04upset. There's been a lot of drone warfare
- 1:10:07back and forth between Russia and Ukraine, and
- 1:10:11my take on this, Jamarl, is that the
- 1:10:15urgency for Trump comes down to the effect on
- 1:10:17global energy prices. His advisors are telling
- 1:10:22him, look, it's not just the Strait of Hormuz,
- 1:10:25it's not just the Houthis, but also the effect
- 1:10:27of Russia as a major exporter of LNG, crude oil.
- 1:10:31It's like, and if they are not able to, if their
- 1:10:38facilities are fucked up to the point where they
- 1:10:40have to focus entirely on supplying domestic
- 1:10:43demand, then that's more of an effect on the
- 1:10:46global energy market, and prices here will continue
- 1:10:49to go up. And that's just one more factor that's
- 1:10:52effect that's beating us up in the polls. And
- 1:10:54that's what this is ultimately about. Yeah, I
- 1:10:57agree with you. It's Donald Trump can't admit
- 1:11:00the honest reality that the war in Iran has created
- 1:11:04all sorts of headwinds for him and himself, meaning
- 1:11:08he can't come out and say, look, this war has increased
- 1:11:10prices in regards to inflation and has created
- 1:11:13a crisis in regards to diesel because ultimately
- 1:11:16that's Donald Trump is effectively accepting
- 1:11:20blame for war that didn't need to take place
- 1:11:21and the pain that everybody else is causing. I
- 1:11:24think he looks at Putin as somebody I can make
- 1:11:27a deal with, but I don't think fully understands
- 1:11:29what Russia needs for that to be a deal. I don't
- 1:11:32even know if he cares. And I think it's a faculty
- 1:11:36of the U.S. In the old days, during the Cold War,
- 1:11:39we could negotiate deals. It may take years,
- 1:11:43but we could do it. We could sit down and we
- 1:11:45could do it. These days, we've gotten so hegemonic
- 1:11:47that the idea of us having to make a deal with
- 1:11:52anybody just seems off the table. We dictate.
- 1:11:54And now we've come up in multiple... Because we
- 1:11:56don't know, we can't possibly put ourselves in
- 1:11:58the position of the people that we're
- 1:12:02negotiating against. Right, in this book, right,
- 1:12:05he taught in Kinzer's book, he talks about how
- 1:12:10there's how George W. Bush and Bill Clinton
- 1:12:13were baffled over the course of 20 years at how
- 1:12:17shitty relations between the United States, which
- 1:12:21started out fairly well at the when
- 1:12:24Russia became independence, how shitty they became
- 1:12:26over the course of the 90s and the aughts,
- 1:12:28and internally they were
- 1:12:32both like, well, we want good relations with
- 1:12:36Russia. We, they, they really told their internal
- 1:12:41advisors that, really confused. They,
- 1:12:43obviously they didn't want to, but Russia
- 1:12:46kept telling them over and over and over, don't
- 1:12:49expand NATO. It's really our line, our red line.
- 1:12:52It's the one thing we really need you to not
- 1:12:55do. Just don't expand NATO. As Medvedev said
- 1:12:58at one point, no country would be
- 1:13:03happy about having a military alliance,
- 1:13:06a military block on its own border that it's
- 1:13:09not a member of. Right, okay, and spreading
- 1:13:12to its border. And after assurances that that
- 1:13:15would not happen, right? And then basically the
- 1:13:19Americans played cute, well, you didn't
- 1:13:21get it in writing. You know, you didn't say,
- 1:13:24we didn't say Simon says. So basically
- 1:13:26it was a handshake deal. Gorbachev was an idiot.
- 1:13:29He had a handshake deal with the first
- 1:13:32Bush administration to not, and the Reagan administration
- 1:13:35not to expand eastward. And they just kept fucking
- 1:13:39doing it. I feel like that's what this
- 1:13:44is about, right? It's kind of like, well,
- 1:13:47we want good relations with you, but we're just
- 1:13:50not willing to give you the things that you want
- 1:13:52and need. Yeah, it's right. Because a lot of
- 1:13:54people think that Donald Trump, especially in
- 1:13:58the alternate media, that Trump doesn't want
- 1:14:00to deal. I don't think that's true. I just think
- 1:14:03he wants to deal on American terms, which is
- 1:14:06impossible to get. Losers don't get to dictate
- 1:14:08terms. You lost the war. You don't get to dictate
- 1:14:12the outcome of that war. Even if we spin this
- 1:14:16from an American point of view, at best, you're
- 1:14:19going to say it's a stalemate. Okay, at best.
- 1:14:22You can say, look, clearly, you could certainly
- 1:14:24argue that Russia hasn't closed the deal. They
- 1:14:28haven't deposed Zelensky. They haven't captured
- 1:14:30Kiev. Okay, fine. But there's no world in which
- 1:14:32Ukraine is ever going to get Crimea back or the
- 1:14:39Donbass, right? No way. So it's like, at best,
- 1:14:41it's a stalemate. And in a stalemate, if you
- 1:14:46want to resolve a stalemate, both sides have
- 1:14:48to give something. The Americans, it's
- 1:14:51not just Trump. And by the way, the entire
- 1:14:55American foreign policy infrastructure is infested
- 1:14:58by people with ties to Eastern Europe or Central
- 1:15:02Europe. People who, including Trump himself,
- 1:15:06who fucking are, who come from, who are sort
- 1:15:09of paranoid of Russia and have reasons,
- 1:15:12historical reasons to distrust Russia. But,
- 1:15:17yeah. Not Trump. Trump is German. No, I
- 1:15:21thought you meant like financial ties. I thought
- 1:15:26you meant like many of the people there. No,
- 1:15:28no, no. I mean like the Victoria Nulands of the
- 1:15:29world and Brzezinski and all those kind of people.
- 1:15:33They're all a bunch of Central and Eastern Europeans
- 1:15:36who have heritage from places that have been
- 1:15:39invaded by Russia historically and don't like
- 1:15:44Russia. And that's going to be true in Iran.
- 1:15:48That's going to be true in Ukraine. And any deal
- 1:15:52that he makes, as the Russians keep saying, and
- 1:15:55I think they fully are standing by this with
- 1:15:57guns in hand in order to ensure that such is
- 1:16:00true, are going to deal with the problems that
- 1:16:03started the war in the first place, which is
- 1:16:06the expansion of NATO. Putin, God, man,
- 1:16:07he had been out there over and over and over
- 1:16:10again, basically begging these guys for new security
- 1:16:12architecture of Europe that would ensure the
- 1:16:14safety of Russia and Europe. And their point
- 1:16:16of view was, you lost. Russia fell or the Soviet
- 1:16:18Union fell. We don't have to listen to you. We
- 1:16:21don't have to listen. And it's like, OK, that's
- 1:16:23exactly what they thought. Russia is a beaten
- 1:16:27country. It's backwards. It's the
- 1:16:29sad man of Europe or whatever. It will never
- 1:16:32be a superpower. And by the way, Kinzer
- 1:16:34challenged us again. And so this was also part
- 1:16:37of Kinzer points out that there was this longstanding
- 1:16:40theory among American policymakers down at Foggy
- 1:16:42Bottom that they needed to that basically Ukraine
- 1:16:46was a key to Russia being an empire, that if you
- 1:16:49separate Russia, if you separated Russia, Ukraine
- 1:16:52away from Russia, it wouldn't, wasn't really an
- 1:16:55empire anymore, right? And therefore that was really
- 1:16:57key to keep Ukraine away from Russia. And I would
- 1:17:00imagine they also knew that the gateway into
- 1:17:03Russia that was happened multiple times by the
- 1:17:06Europeans was through Ukraine. Yeah, most famously
- 1:17:08in 1941 over the course of those two wars through
- 1:17:12intrusion through Ukraine. So yeah, it's like,
- 1:17:16will they be dodgy about their borders when their
- 1:17:19borders being breached in that specific area
- 1:17:21ends up killing 50 million people? Yes, they
- 1:17:24will be. Obviously. As anyone would be.
- 1:17:26As Kinzer says, you could argue that
- 1:17:30Donald, that Donald, that Putin's
- 1:17:33invasion of Ukraine was illegal under international
- 1:17:36law, but the fact is no leader of Russia would
- 1:17:39have ever done anything else, regardless of their
- 1:17:42ideology, the form of government, anything. No
- 1:17:45one. I agree with that. If I were the
- 1:17:49president of Russia, I would have done the same
- 1:17:50thing. There's no fucking choice. There's no
- 1:17:51choice. Yeah, no leader of America would have
- 1:17:54done anything different. No, they invaded Grenada
- 1:17:57because they thought the commies were coming.
- 1:18:00They were going to end the world over Cuba. Right.
- 1:18:03There is a premise in international law called
- 1:18:06preemptive self-defense based on a, I forget
- 1:18:08what the name of the ship was. It was a British
- 1:18:12ship back in the 1840s, if I remember correctly.
- 1:18:14And the British attacked first, citing preemptive
- 1:18:17self-defense because they did not want their
- 1:18:21ship to be captured by a hostile power. You are
- 1:18:23not obligated to be hit in the face first before
- 1:18:26you respond. I don't think that principle would
- 1:18:29have operated, though, in the case of 2022 because
- 1:18:31that would have required the Ukrainian military
- 1:18:34to be massed on Russia's borders and present
- 1:18:35that kind of imminent threat of invasion. Wait
- 1:18:38a minute, they were on the Russian borders. Well,
- 1:18:42oh, okay, well, no, the Ukrainians were not massed
- 1:18:44on the Russian borders. Well, the trigger there
- 1:18:47was honestly was when Kamala Harris said, we
- 1:18:51are going to bring you in. We're going to bring
- 1:18:54you into NATO, and we are going to start establishing
- 1:18:56NATO bases like a week before the Russians went
- 1:18:58in. By the way, they kept trying until the very
- 1:19:02last minute. The Russians kept saying, all we
- 1:19:05want to hear is Zelensky, for example, say
- 1:19:08we will not join NATO. And this whole thing is
- 1:19:11is not going to happen. It'll be fine. People
- 1:19:13need to realize this war that's going on in Ukraine
- 1:19:16is not that sure, it's Russians and Ukrainians
- 1:19:19who are dying, but this is a war between Russia
- 1:19:21and the United States. It's a proxy war. It is
- 1:19:24a proxy war, and the preemptive strike
- 1:19:27was not against Ukraine per se. It was against
- 1:19:32American and Western interests in Europe, in Ukraine
- 1:19:35specifically. That's that. That's the trigger. It
- 1:19:39was never about Ukraine if what you mean by that
- 1:19:43is expansion of NATO either in de facto or operative
- 1:19:46sense. It doesn't matter. No, listen, if you're
- 1:19:49training an army to NATO standards and if you
- 1:19:52are training it with NATO tactics and if you
- 1:19:54are sharing intelligence and if you're giving
- 1:19:56them weapons, does it really matter what the pill
- 1:19:58is that you have on your jacket? You're a NATO
- 1:20:01army. That is exactly that's the point. That is
- 1:20:04true. That is the point. Yeah. Yeah, and of course,
- 1:20:08the thing is, it's like the U.S. has been like,
- 1:20:12well, we don't believe in spheres of influence
- 1:20:13anymore. We're a bunch of fucking hypocritical
- 1:20:16bastards. We still stick to the Monroe Doctrine,
- 1:20:18right? Of course we believe in spheres
- 1:20:21of influence. We don't think Mexico and Canada
- 1:20:23are in our sphere of influence? Bullshit. Just
- 1:20:26stole Venezuela. Rubio was just talking about
- 1:20:28the money we're stealing from Venezuela. Venezuela
- 1:20:31is nowhere near our border. And they say this
- 1:20:33stuff so openly. It's amazing to me the way that
- 1:20:37some of the stuff they say is accepted. It's
- 1:20:43like they're antithetical to the values that
- 1:20:45you're taught as kids. It's like, yeah, we stole
- 1:20:47this, we took it. Even Trump, when he's out there
- 1:20:50making a speech, the president cursing, saying
- 1:20:52we beat the shit out of somebody is rather amazing.
- 1:20:54It's like, so I can bring my kids to the presidential
- 1:20:58speech now because the president's going to be
- 1:21:01cursing like an alligator? It's not the argument
- 1:21:02that Netanyahu and now Trump has been making.
- 1:21:07Netanyahu for the last 20 years and Trump ever
- 1:21:10since the Israelis started paying his legal bills
- 1:21:12is that Iran is weeks away from getting a nuclear
- 1:21:14weapon. We must strike them first. That is the
- 1:21:17exact same argument that Vladimir Putin made.
- 1:21:20That's the exact same argument that Vladimir
- 1:21:24Putin made. Matter of fact, Netanyahu over the
- 1:21:25weekend after Trump endorsed him. What a... Just
- 1:21:28like we got to talk about the Iranians are going
- 1:21:32to build ICBMs and hold American cities hostage.
- 1:21:33It's the exact same thing. Sure, sure they are.
- 1:21:36Why does Israel get a pass but Russia's the villain?
- 1:21:40It's the same principle. Well, except there's no
- 1:21:42credibility on the Israeli side. All
- 1:21:47right, we got to talk about that. We have a
- 1:21:51few more comments to do. Okay, here we go.
- 1:21:53Rate. Thanks for the donation. And yes, I love
- 1:21:57the Ramones too. McCraw has no children. No,
- 1:22:01if you say he never knocked up his husband, indeed.
- 1:22:06That's what I was laughing at. So horrible. And
- 1:22:10can I ask the two hosts a question? Is it just
- 1:22:17me or are the Democrats doing absolutely nothing
- 1:22:19to try and stop Trump? Is it me or does it seem
- 1:22:21like the Democrats are helping the Republicans?
- 1:22:24Not you. No. The idea was straightforward. Let
- 1:22:28Trump be Trump. I think that was the Democratic
- 1:22:32plan. The other thing was, don't get in the way
- 1:22:35of Trump effing it up. For once, the Democrats
- 1:22:37finally did something right. Gorbachev himself
- 1:22:40said there was no deal not to expand NATO. Why
- 1:22:44do you guys keep insisting there was? Because
- 1:22:46there was. Gorbachev had numerous meetings with
- 1:22:48Western leaders, and they had a handshake agreement.
- 1:22:53He received assurances from all sorts of European
- 1:22:58leaders saying, don't worry, these are all NATO
- 1:23:02members. They said, we will not vote to support
- 1:23:04that. And so what he said before he died, there
- 1:23:07was no deal. What he meant was there was no written
- 1:23:11deal. And that's true. There was no written deal.
- 1:23:14Western people, it was James Baker if I'm
- 1:23:19not mistaken, and maybe I'm getting the name wrong.
- 1:23:21I'd even noted that. That's right. It's James Baker.
- 1:23:23Yeah. God, man, I have such conflicted feelings
- 1:23:26about Gold Trust. Oh, me too, because I was raised
- 1:23:30as an American, right? And Americans are like, oh,
- 1:23:32he's such a great leader. And then any Russian
- 1:23:35you talk to, they'll be like, that guy. No, I said,
- 1:23:38I say, I kind of say that guy too. I do
- 1:23:40too. I was reading the book Collapse yesterday,
- 1:23:44and he, God, he was incompetent. Yeah, it just
- 1:23:46like some of the stuff, right, where the people
- 1:23:53are like, how are you trying to at once have a
- 1:23:54strong state and strong individual states that
- 1:23:59are like a strong central government, strong individual
- 1:24:02states, and the point is you can't have both. They're
- 1:24:04going to immediately try to get independence
- 1:24:06because they're strong states, right? Right, and
- 1:24:08yet he would not listen to anybody on that
- 1:24:12stuff. It would get rid of people and just like,
- 1:24:15no, we're pursuing this course. This is the course
- 1:24:17that we're pursuing. And it all fell apart. And
- 1:24:19people, I kind of paid him. I think, I think it
- 1:24:22was a catastrophe for the world. It really was.
- 1:24:25It really was. And Americans have no idea, right?
- 1:24:28When they talk with, Putin,
- 1:24:32he's far to my
- 1:24:34right, and politically I'm not
- 1:24:37aligned with him, and his ties to
- 1:24:40religion and all that stuff, I don't
- 1:24:42relate to, but I gotta say, the man is
- 1:24:45a fucking colossus as a political leader.
- 1:24:47He turned a country that was destroyed with
- 1:24:50where there was widespread famine that had been
- 1:24:54completely vaporized by the West and
- 1:24:56rebuilt it from scratch, modernized it, strengthened
- 1:25:00it, brought it back onto the world
- 1:25:04stage as a superpower. It's so fucking
- 1:25:07impressive what that guy did. There's
- 1:25:11no wonder Russians, even people who are
- 1:25:14not on the right, vote for him because they're
- 1:25:17like, he's the George Washington of the Russian
- 1:25:20Federation. He is defending his state. Full stop.
- 1:25:22It's that. He's defending the integrity of the
- 1:25:26state. He's so impressive. So impressive. And
- 1:25:29he's taking muscular action to do so, realizing
- 1:25:31that muscular action was required. They tried
- 1:25:33the pussy style with Yeltsin. That didn't work.
- 1:25:37It didn't work. It just made it worse. For God's sake, they put, they overthrew a country
- 1:25:40on the border of Russia and filled it with lunatics
- 1:25:44and Nazis. As a Russian, what do you
- 1:25:47think about this? Right. You're looking at this,
- 1:25:50and you're seeing what the West is doing. And
- 1:25:54you look at what they did to Iraq and Afghanistan,
- 1:25:55meaning you've seen this entity knock over country
- 1:25:58after country after country. And now they've
- 1:26:00knocked over the border, and they're looking at
- 1:26:02you, and your first response is no further. Yeah,
- 1:26:03enough. It stops here. You guys don't take my
- 1:26:06word. Fair enough. Here are my werewolves, as
- 1:26:09Garland will call them. So is this war summit
- 1:26:14going to happen? Who knows? Yes, it probably
- 1:26:17will. I strongly suspect that Donald Trump is
- 1:26:22going to want the gravitas of meeting with the
- 1:26:25world leaders, the strong leaders, the ones that
- 1:26:28have military. All the Ukrainian,
- 1:26:30it's such a fucking infection. Even people who are
- 1:26:38on the left and smart still support Ukraine.
- 1:26:40It's fucking maddening. But anyway, Trump is
- 1:26:44going to catch shit. This idea is going to catch
- 1:26:48shit for the fact that Ukraine is not going to
- 1:26:51be involved. Why would they? These are about
- 1:26:53the world leaders. Yeah, this is like Yalta,
- 1:26:57kind of. The big boys are taking care of this.
- 1:27:00These are sovereign leaders of countries with
- 1:27:03militaries that can use those militaries and
- 1:27:05that are sovereign. We'll let you know what we
- 1:27:07decide, Zelensky. Right, right. Listen, if this
- 1:27:11happens, and I mean this, this is not sarcasm.
- 1:27:16I hope it happens in Pyongyang. And the reason
- 1:27:19is... Well, it won't. I understand it won't,
- 1:27:22but it should. Because if you look at the flashpoints
- 1:27:25that are going on right now in the world, because
- 1:27:28this involves interests for the three superpowers
- 1:27:30on the planet. It'll be in China. Well, wait
- 1:27:33a minute. I thought this was at a summit coming
- 1:27:36up where all three were going to be at the summit.
- 1:27:38I don't remember where the summit was stationed.
- 1:27:40They haven't decided where it's going to be.
- 1:27:41Well, that's what I'm saying. China should be
- 1:27:43the host country. Well, no, I don't think so.
- 1:27:46Because look at how the Republicans and the Democrats
- 1:27:49both paint China. They don't paint China as an
- 1:27:51adversary or as a competitor. Enemy. They paint
- 1:27:53Russia as an enemy. Yeah, but Trump doesn't care
- 1:27:58about that. Well, you're assuming Trump has agency.
- 1:28:01He doesn't. Also, the thing
- 1:28:04is Putin has to be able to travel safely. He
- 1:28:06can easily travel to China. Sure, but Trump went
- 1:28:10to China like a few months ago. And also China,
- 1:28:14it makes sense because the adverse, this is a
- 1:28:16proxy war, as you yourself said, between Russia
- 1:28:18and the United States. So China is kind of the
- 1:28:20intermediary. I just wonder, would he be allowed
- 1:28:23to do that, though, by the people who control
- 1:28:28him? I don't know. I don't think Trump is a robot.
- 1:28:30Trump's demented. He's incompetent. I don't think
- 1:28:36he's a robot. He's already been to Beijing. And
- 1:28:38the question is what comes out of this summit,
- 1:28:43hopefully. What are the possibilities?
- 1:28:45The summit likely will not succeed because of
- 1:28:48American intransigence. I don't think he's going
- 1:28:51to find a way out of the war. If that's the conversation.
- 1:28:55Yeah, that's the conversation. They'll seem to
- 1:28:59be really pissed off at Zelensky. The intelligence thing is fascinating to me.
- 1:29:01I don't know if you saw Marco Rubio when
- 1:29:03he was given an interview. And Rubio, they asked
- 1:29:05him, hey, did you do anything about intelligence?
- 1:29:07And they even asked him the question about Starlink.
- 1:29:09He was like, I don't know what they're talking
- 1:29:12about, the Starlink stuff. Scene that just went
- 1:29:14off. So their argument is, it just happened.
- 1:29:15It might just be a book. It just happened. And
- 1:29:18from the standpoint of intel, because Zelensky
- 1:29:21has gone on TV once again crying about the fact
- 1:29:23that he's not getting intelligence. And you think
- 1:29:25to yourself, so how are you bitching at anything?
- 1:29:27You are so reliant on the U.S. either giving
- 1:29:34you information for ballistic missiles coming
- 1:29:37into the country or for using the technology
- 1:29:39that the U.S. provides for your missiles and
- 1:29:41for your technology. By the way, not even supposed
- 1:29:43to be using it for this, but whatever. U.S.
- 1:29:45turns a blind eye to attack them. Your ability
- 1:29:47to defend and attack is entirely dependent upon
- 1:29:50the United States. And you are bitching at every
- 1:29:52turn about Trump. Yeah. I don't blame Trump for
- 1:29:55having had enough. I'd say he's been very patient.
- 1:29:58He should have had enough a long time ago. He
- 1:30:02should have walked on day one. Meaning he is
- 1:30:04stuck in a war now where as opposed to him walking
- 1:30:07on day one, now they're attributing this stuff
- 1:30:09to him. Yeah. And Trump's paying the price, and
- 1:30:11he's about to get jelacked. Yeah. So, all right.
- 1:30:15Do you think this... So, yeah. So, basically,
- 1:30:20this will just be... I think the meeting happens.
- 1:30:22It depends. But it won't end the war,
- 1:30:24though. No, it's not going to end the war. But
- 1:30:27I thought they were going to meet at a summit
- 1:30:29somewhere. I thought there was going to
- 1:30:30be a summit that had already been pre-planned.
- 1:30:32Oh, no, no, no. This is about a new...
- 1:30:35This is something separate. Something separate,
- 1:30:37yeah. I don't know if they're going to meet.
- 1:30:40It's not about meeting at an existing summit,
- 1:30:41behind the scenes. This is about
- 1:30:43setting up something completely new. Okay, yeah.
- 1:30:45OK, if it's the sideline meeting at the conference
- 1:30:49that I'm thinking about, then yes, it's going
- 1:30:51to take place. If this is just something separate,
- 1:30:53who knows? I don't know. Yeah, it's a who knows.
- 1:30:55All the reschedules will have to go. Well, also,
- 1:30:59what's the point? Why would you move the Americans?
- 1:31:02You can't trust them. Yeah, but China. Yeah,
- 1:31:03but you're not going to end this war any other
- 1:31:07way because the United States is behind it. Oh,
- 1:31:09the Russians can end this war if Putin
- 1:31:11would be off his blessed assurance and let the
- 1:31:14military do what militaries do. Russia,
- 1:31:16that's the rub, right? From my point
- 1:31:20of view, it's like because I've been on that bandwagon
- 1:31:23too. It's like Putin needs to take the gloves off.
- 1:31:25What the F is he doing? He's done that. What
- 1:31:28is happening to Ukraine right now is they're
- 1:31:32getting taken apart. Their infrastructure is just
- 1:31:33being completely demolished. St. Petersburg just
- 1:31:36got two plants. St. Petersburg just got slapped
- 1:31:38yesterday. True, because St. Peter's, because
- 1:31:41the Urate. Yes, because European countries allow
- 1:31:44their airspace to be used to hit Russia in a
- 1:31:47weird angle. That's true. So then what you do
- 1:31:50is that you occupy Ukraine all the way to the
- 1:31:54Dnieper River. You take Odessa, and then you
- 1:31:57let the little rump state formerly known as Ukraine
- 1:31:59know if you don't stop, we will not stop to reach
- 1:32:02the Polish border. Well, look, I think that's
- 1:32:04what they're going to do anyway, meaning I think
- 1:32:07the policy is to take Odessa. It's been five
- 1:32:09years. How long is it going to take? Robby,
- 1:32:11how can I answer that question? I know. But that's
- 1:32:14the point they're making. Putin is too soft.
- 1:32:16He has let the werewolves loose. He's giving
- 1:32:19you what you wanted. Because that's my point.
- 1:32:23It's going to take a little more time. It's time,
- 1:32:27right? I see fleas. I don't see werewolves. For
- 1:32:29one, drone warfare has changed a lot of the way
- 1:32:33that militaries can organize themselves, right?
- 1:32:36You can't have a million men just lined
- 1:32:38up like they did in Germany and just kind of
- 1:32:40rush through. Two, they've been fighting multiple
- 1:32:41militaries that have been rebuilt over and over
- 1:32:44again with European money, where hundreds of
- 1:32:46billions of dollars of European money and American
- 1:32:49money has gone into a dumping ground for Ukraine.
- 1:32:51I guess what I'm saying, it's not that
- 1:32:54easy. That's my point. I feel like I'm arguing
- 1:32:55the other side, because I used to press Mark
- 1:32:57on this. I feel like I'm on the other side now.
- 1:32:59He has let the world loose. He has shut off the
- 1:33:01ports. He has not. He's encroaching on Slavyansk,
- 1:33:04Kramatorsk. They're going after Zaporozhye. They're
- 1:33:08probably going to take Odessa. They're doing
- 1:33:10all of those things. They're destroying Kiev.
- 1:33:12Kiev is now a frontline city. Many years before,
- 1:33:14this stuff was happening in Donbass. Now, this
- 1:33:16stuff is happening in Kiev. Kiev doesn't matter
- 1:33:18in this. It's Lvov that matters. Oh, it matters.
- 1:33:19It matters because that's where the international
- 1:33:22press is. You don't think it matters? Oh, I think
- 1:33:23it does matter. It's the capital of the country.
- 1:33:26Here's the point that I'm making, though. From
- 1:33:27a logistical standpoint, wars are won or lost
- 1:33:29based off logistics. That is a statement of fact
- 1:33:32going back to the Romans. That's why the Carthaginians
- 1:33:34lost. Hannibal lost because of logistics. As
- 1:33:37long as Lvov is untouched, as long as the railways
- 1:33:41coming in from Poland and Latvia and Estonia,
- 1:33:45the bridges are still standing. As long as you
- 1:33:48keep on allowing these intelligence infrastructures,
- 1:33:50where you know that they are, to continue operating
- 1:33:54with impunity because they have foreign contractors,
- 1:33:56operators that are working on them, and you don't
- 1:33:59smack them, the Ukrainians can continue to reconstitute
- 1:34:02and reconstitute and reconstitute. That's the
- 1:34:05point. If you want to end this thing, you cut
- 1:34:07off, you decapitate the logistics system, and
- 1:34:10Putin is not willing to do that because of the
- 1:34:14bad optics. He's the senior statesman. Oh, I don't
- 1:34:17think it's bad optics. Oh, I think Ukraine is in
- 1:34:20no, he's afraid of bad optics. If Putin goes
- 1:34:24in and if he turns Lvov into Gaza, it's bad, but
- 1:34:27he doesn't want to do that. I don't think that's
- 1:34:31my point, but that's what he needs to do to end
- 1:34:33the war. I know, but for one, I don't know if that
- 1:34:35ends the war because Ukraine is not necessarily
- 1:34:38functioning under the power of Ukraine. Ukraine
- 1:34:41is functioning as a proxy. Meaning when Zelensky
- 1:34:43says the reason that they like him as a dictator
- 1:34:45is because you don't have to, dictators don't
- 1:34:47have to negotiate with parliament. Dictators
- 1:34:50are dictators. Zelensky is unelected in this
- 1:34:51case, in which case he is doing the bidding of
- 1:34:54a foreign country against his own country. Meaning
- 1:34:56the overwhelming majority of the population of
- 1:34:59Ukraine says stop the war. Under normal circumstances,
- 1:35:01that should matter in this case. But it doesn't
- 1:35:04matter. Right. Which means that even if you decimate,
- 1:35:08let's say, Lvov, it doesn't necessarily mean
- 1:35:11the war stops. No, it does. And I got to be honest,
- 1:35:13no world leader wants to act that way. I understand
- 1:35:16that we as Americans have gotten very used to
- 1:35:19decimating the leaders of countries or just turning
- 1:35:21countries in the glass like we did in the wars
- 1:35:28in either Iraq or for that matter, I'm thinking
- 1:35:30of Mosul. But they shouldn't act that way. That's
- 1:35:33not good. Listen, I'm not saying that you've
- 1:35:37got to turn Ukraine. I think we're both speaking
- 1:35:39English, but I'm speaking a different language
- 1:35:43here. I'm not saying turn Ukraine into a parking
- 1:35:44lot. The reason why there were no Patriot interceptors
- 1:35:47intercepting the missiles over the weekend over
- 1:35:52Kiev is because Ukraine doesn't have them. Right.
- 1:35:53So if you want to put the war to bed, you deny
- 1:35:57the Ukrainian military the ability to continue
- 1:36:00to reconstitute itself. How do you do that? By
- 1:36:02destroying the logistical hubs, allowing the
- 1:36:05reconstitution of that military. I guess I would
- 1:36:07argue that they're doing that, Robby. When they're going after, let me ask you this.
- 1:36:10Sure. When they hit that building and the building
- 1:36:12exploded. Which one? And people were like, hey,
- 1:36:14it looks like you were holding armaments in the
- 1:36:16cotton candy factory or whatever the fact, whatever
- 1:36:20they want to call it, right? Okay, those things
- 1:36:24end up killing people who are around the area
- 1:36:27because of the ammunition depot that was blown
- 1:36:30up, meaning that's a logistics hub. When they're
- 1:36:33hitting many of these places like the places that do aluminum or the places that
- 1:36:35do chemicals or places that do metals and the
- 1:36:37plant, they keep hitting these places preventing
- 1:36:40the places from ever coming back. Those are logistics
- 1:36:42hubs. They're doing that. I get your point. Your
- 1:36:44point is stop the trains. If the trains are bringing
- 1:36:46things in, stop those trains. You close the border,
- 1:36:48make Ukraine almost like a separate universe
- 1:36:50from Europe. I get your point. No, listen,
- 1:36:53the Russians have the ability to do to Ukraine
- 1:36:55what the United States has done to Cuba. Geography
- 1:37:00is on their side. It's a Strait of Hormuz and
- 1:37:03Iran. You have the geography. You have the military
- 1:37:08ability to do this. My question is, are you so
- 1:37:11afraid of looking bad in the international press
- 1:37:15that you're not willing to let the wolves out
- 1:37:19to do what needs to be done? I don't know if
- 1:37:23it's looking... I don't know if the issue is looking
- 1:37:25bad. Yeah. I just don't like that. There's
- 1:37:27too many people that have been killed. Guys,
- 1:37:30I'm calling a repetition alert here. We're going
- 1:37:33in circles. We're moving on. Oh, sorry. I'll
- 1:37:35go away now. Okay. So on the same point, Lavrov,
- 1:37:38he's the foreign minister of the Russian Federation,
- 1:37:41is in Iran right now. I assume this is just basically
- 1:37:51a consultation visit, just to catch up. And basically,
- 1:37:52the Gulf states are asking Russia to please,
- 1:37:56please, please ask your Iranian buddies to stop
- 1:38:02beating the shit out of us. Why would they ask
- 1:38:06him? And why would he comply? And why would he
- 1:38:10pass that message along? I don't understand
- 1:38:14that story at all. Well, the Gulf states are
- 1:38:19living in a fantasy world. And I don't know.
- 1:38:21That's where I have a problem, that the shit
- 1:38:24that they're peddling is going outside of themselves?
- 1:38:28Meaning, I don't know if they're trying to sell
- 1:38:31something that is unsellable. It's like, hey,
- 1:38:33I know we're in Alaska, but would you like to
- 1:38:36buy some ice? Yeah, no, not really, right? They're
- 1:38:38pretending as if they have nothing to do with
- 1:38:40any of this. And it's like, dude, not only were
- 1:38:44you protecting Israel, but Iran and Israel were
- 1:38:47fighting one another, which is bad enough. You
- 1:38:52also are allowing your bases and your countries
- 1:38:55to be used as platforms to attack Iran. And Iran
- 1:38:59strikes back. They're like, oh my God, I can't
- 1:39:01believe we're being attacked like this by Iran.
- 1:39:04Are you serious right now? And I keep thinking,
- 1:39:06is this for their own domestic consumption? Because
- 1:39:08this is ridiculous that they're even making this
- 1:39:12case. How on earth are you looking at me with
- 1:39:14a straight face asking me why is my country being
- 1:39:18attacked? Because your country is attacking my
- 1:39:20country. Over and over. And for whatever reason,
- 1:39:24they're trying to sell this nonsense. Oh
- 1:39:26my God, I can't believe Iran keeps hitting us.
- 1:39:29Why does Russia give a shit what the Gulf states
- 1:39:31want? It's like, what have you little pipsqueaks
- 1:39:35done for me lately? Right. Now, Russia will carry
- 1:39:39the message. It was like, hey, by the way, the
- 1:39:43GCC state said this. And Iran said, okay, thank
- 1:39:44you for telling us. Hey, let's go get some liquor.
- 1:39:47Let's go get a beer. Yeah, let's get some of
- 1:39:51those fancy chocolates. Yeah, bye. Yeah, it's
- 1:39:53absurd. Now the catch becomes, and a
- 1:39:57lot of people would say, in the association between
- 1:40:01Donald Trump and Putin, is Russia selling Iran
- 1:40:04out for its own self-interest? And I have to
- 1:40:11say, I think that would be insane from the Russian
- 1:40:14point of view. A, you can't trust what the U
- 1:40:17.S. is telling you at any particular moment.
- 1:40:20And B, Iran is a linchpin in regards to... safety
- 1:40:22of China and Russia. If anything happens to Iran,
- 1:40:26ultimately whether the government changes or
- 1:40:28anything else, it dramatically affects China and
- 1:40:30Russia's positioning in the world, meaning how
- 1:40:32they see the world. So I don't see it as being
- 1:40:34this kind of overt realist, even if we have
- 1:40:37to put a knife in an ally, except I don't think
- 1:40:43it's that. Yeah, but will they carry the message?
- 1:40:45Yeah, but the Gulf states are living in a fantasy,
- 1:40:47and so Saudi Arabia. Well, also the fact that
- 1:40:48the Russians can't protect their refineries from
- 1:40:51Yuki drones. So it would not surprise me at all
- 1:40:53if the Russians are buying a nice amount of Iranian
- 1:40:56diesel. There's that too. So that goes
- 1:41:00to my point. Yeah. I'm sorry, Rob. Yeah,
- 1:41:04that's my whole point. Until the Russians
- 1:41:09can figure out how to put this war to bed and
- 1:41:13win it, they need Iran. They need Iran because
- 1:41:15the Russian military cannot protect its refineries.
- 1:41:20And Iran wants to export its supplies, so it's
- 1:41:23a win-win. And the Caspian Sea is like right
- 1:41:29there. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. I think a lot
- 1:41:31of people are looking at, oh, Iran is going to
- 1:41:36fall. Iran is going to fall. Whoever is talking
- 1:41:37to Trump, I think they're telling him the wrong
- 1:41:39thing. I can see the Israelis. I could
- 1:41:41see the U.S. or the Israelis attacking vessels
- 1:41:44in the Caspian Sea, but that would open up a can
- 1:41:46of worms too with the Central Asian republics
- 1:41:48like Turkmenistan is and yeah, and Turkmenistan
- 1:41:51and Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan
- 1:41:55all have part of that sea. And those
- 1:41:58are, they have studied new policies of
- 1:42:02neutrality, and they would be pissed off. Oh, the
- 1:42:05Azeris wouldn't care. They're Israel's
- 1:42:07lapdogs. They don't have no problem. It would be
- 1:42:09the other countries. Well, the Turkmen and the
- 1:42:11Turkmen and the Kazakhs wouldn't like it. Oh, for
- 1:42:13sure. The Kazakhs have oil. They have oil refineries
- 1:42:16there. Oh, yeah. Listen, I agree with you,
- 1:42:18but I would not put the Azeris in that list, and
- 1:42:21they do whatever the Israelis tell them
- 1:42:23to do. But the other countries, though, they would
- 1:42:26have serious feelings about their ships being
- 1:42:29hit in the Caspian Sea. It's not like Russia's
- 1:42:31going to look at that and be okay with that.
- 1:42:35Yeah, nobody's going to be okay with that. I'm
- 1:42:36furious, to put it mildly. No, these are relationships.
- 1:42:38Yeah, these are relationships. And they have
- 1:42:45a shared interest in the future, moving forward.
- 1:42:49Yeah, so this is obviously, I think we're on
- 1:42:51the same page about that. Okay, so... Let's talk
- 1:42:53about, oh yeah, let's talk about Israel. Did
- 1:42:58you see Egypt entering the war with Yemen? Yes,
- 1:43:01I did see that. That's wild. That is wild to
- 1:43:07me. Because people, to put it in context,
- 1:43:12Saudi Arabia has been making this argument that
- 1:43:16Shia Islam, specifically Ansar al-Assad, somehow
- 1:43:18lesser Islam or heretical, and that the Sunnis
- 1:43:21need to come together. And in some response,
- 1:43:25the Mecca pact, right? You have all of these
- 1:43:27countries that are supposed to be Sunni Muslim
- 1:43:29nations coming together, and Egypt was like, well,
- 1:43:31I don't want to be a part of it. Fair enough, but
- 1:43:35if you notice they didn't form the Mecca pact
- 1:43:38to go after and protect Gaza in a sense of Israel
- 1:43:40murdering and mass, mass killing
- 1:43:43in Gaza. They formed a compact to deal with a Muslim
- 1:43:47country. It's like what? And then Egypt has
- 1:43:50quotes where they're like, we're not going to
- 1:43:55risk ourselves in the pursuit of Gaza. I'm going
- 1:43:56to stand for Egypt. This is El-Sisi. And then
- 1:43:59for this is like, we are going to go after and
- 1:44:02protect Saudi Arabia. So you would not protect
- 1:44:04this other Muslim nation or this other Muslim
- 1:44:07enclave right on your border. However, you will
- 1:44:09protect Saudi Arabia at all costs. OK, somebody's
- 1:44:13being exposed. Some countries are being exposed.
- 1:44:17That's outrageous. They were saying in
- 1:44:21Egyptian parliament, there was people pissed
- 1:44:23off, yelling and whatnot. This is just wild.
- 1:44:25And the UAE apparently is also trying to get
- 1:44:29back involved in this war. Ansar Allah made the
- 1:44:31point very clear. We will hit your cities. We
- 1:44:33will shut down the Suez Canal. Do not mess with
- 1:44:36us. Yeah. Yeah, well, the lesson clearly has
- 1:44:39not been learned. It has not. So it'll
- 1:44:43just have to get spicier. Speaking of which.
- 1:44:47So in the West Bank, we all know about the Israeli,
- 1:44:51the Jewish settler terrorists who've been obviously
- 1:44:54for years violently brutalizing the local Palestinians.
- 1:44:57And now they've with, I guess they
- 1:45:02just feel like nothing could ever, ever stop
- 1:45:06them. They beat up a Washington Post photojournalist
- 1:45:09lady and a bunch of European diplomats when they
- 1:45:16went to visit during the olive harvest season.
- 1:45:20The photographer had broken bones. They beat
- 1:45:25her up for like 10 minutes. It's on video. And
- 1:45:29with all of that, Netanyahu said, oh, we
- 1:45:32will look into it, but we're not really sure
- 1:45:36what happened. I think everyone's sure what happened,
- 1:45:39but he said he's claiming they're
- 1:45:42going to investigate. They have to pay attention
- 1:45:44and pretend to care about all this. But anyway,
- 1:45:46in the midst of all this, the elections are in
- 1:45:49nine days, and Netanyahu is about it. Just got
- 1:45:51endorsed by Trump. I don't know if that I guess
- 1:45:55that probably helps him in Israel. Yeah,
- 1:45:58yeah, Trump is popular there. But whatever
- 1:46:04happened to election interference being a problem?
- 1:46:08This is election interference in Israel,
- 1:46:11isn't it? The only Middle East democracy?
- 1:46:14The U.S., which is the big funder
- 1:46:18of Israel, the president is endorsing a candidate
- 1:46:23in your campaign. It's even more disgusting
- 1:46:27than usual. Well, they beat that, what, it was
- 1:46:31like 80 or more settlers that were involved in
- 1:46:34that raid or the pogrom, if you want to call
- 1:46:37it that. They beat the reporter, apparently with
- 1:46:39bats and whatnot or sticks or whatever they were
- 1:46:43using to beat her. She had broken ribs. Part
- 1:46:45of her finger had been ripped off. Yeah, they
- 1:46:47put her in the hospital. She's in the
- 1:46:51hospital as we speak. They are doing this with
- 1:46:52impunity. And what's wild to me about it, my
- 1:46:55mom told me about it the other day, right? She
- 1:46:59was like, hey, did you see what they did to that
- 1:47:00reporter in the West Bank? And I said, they do
- 1:47:02that every day, right? Yeah, this is this is
- 1:47:05only because for whatever particular reason this
- 1:47:16has become a focus of news, and when the news
- 1:47:19media goes there, they're like, oh my God, I can't
- 1:47:21believe they're beating us and other people with
- 1:47:24bats and taking our stuff. Yes, that's what they've
- 1:47:26been doing. That's what we've been saying they've
- 1:47:28been doing. They've been doing that every day.
- 1:47:31You just didn't have your reporters on the ground.
- 1:47:32And now from their point of view, no consequences.
- 1:47:35And guess what? They're right. Beating a reporter
- 1:47:38is a rational act. If there are no consequences
- 1:47:40for the act, what stops them from doing so, right?
- 1:47:43They're trying to get... But you know there's
- 1:47:44protected classes, and a Washington Post reporter
- 1:47:47is generally a protected class, which is why
- 1:47:50not anymore. Although nothing really happened
- 1:47:52with the killing of Jamal Khashoggi. But it did
- 1:47:57cause inconvenience to Saudi Arabia, right?
- 1:48:00They still catch shit about it. Well,
- 1:48:04the settlers, from their point of view,
- 1:48:06there is no consequence. There are no protected
- 1:48:10classes as far as they're concerned. From their
- 1:48:12point of view, we want people to not come here.
- 1:48:15We don't want people videotaping this. We don't
- 1:48:17want people reporting on what's happening on
- 1:48:18the ground. So we want to intimidate by beating
- 1:48:21the shit out of every reporter that comes into
- 1:48:22the location. That's their point of view. And
- 1:48:25until there's some kind of consequence
- 1:48:26for doing that, they will continue to do that.
- 1:48:28I give you another one, the flotilla, and
- 1:48:32how the attacks on the people in the flotilla
- 1:48:34got increasingly worse up until the point of
- 1:48:36one woman said she was sexually assaulted in
- 1:48:39their prisons. They were doing that stuff
- 1:48:41where they were escalating the violence on the
- 1:48:43people because they didn't want it to continue,
- 1:48:44and I would put to you the settlers the same.
- 1:48:46The cops ends up coming. I'm sorry, the military
- 1:48:49police to oversee the beatings as they're taking
- 1:48:53place, right? These guys are working in tandem.
- 1:48:56This is not one or the other. All of these
- 1:48:59guys are working in tandem with one another.
- 1:49:01Yeah, it is election interference kind of, but
- 1:49:04it's, is it interference if you're okay with interference?
- 1:49:06Israel seems to be okay with the fact that the
- 1:49:08U.S. president is interfering into the quote
- 1:49:12-unquote into their elections. I know Netanyahu
- 1:49:15is okay with it. Did you see something about a
- 1:49:19behind-the-scenes deal with Netanyahu stays in
- 1:49:21office for two years and then leaves gracefully
- 1:49:23or something like that? No, how would that work?
- 1:49:27I saw some reporting about it, that Donald Trump
- 1:49:29was in, again, take the reporting with a grain
- 1:49:32of salt, that there was conversations between
- 1:49:34the White House and other elements of the Israeli
- 1:49:36government to allow Netanyahu to stay in for
- 1:49:39additional two years and then allow him to leave
- 1:49:42with somebody else coming into fruition because
- 1:49:44Trump apparently prefers Netanyahu to be in office.
- 1:49:47I don't know if that's true. Who knows? That
- 1:49:50doesn't sound right. Yeah, but he is openly saying
- 1:49:53he wants Netanyahu to stay in office. And for
- 1:49:55whatever reason, Israel seems to like Donald
- 1:49:58Trump. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, they do all because
- 1:50:02he did so much for them. Right. He moved
- 1:50:04the capital, the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and
- 1:50:07all this other stuff. By the way, I should point
- 1:50:09out that tomorrow, just as a reminder, we have
- 1:50:12an expert on the Israeli election system coming
- 1:50:16on to the show. Professor Gideon Rahat. He's
- 1:50:21a faculty member of the political science department
- 1:50:23at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an
- 1:50:26international fellow at the Center for the Study
- 1:50:29of Democracy at UC Irvine and the co-author
- 1:50:33of a book called Reforming Israel's Political
- 1:50:36System, also published by the Israel Democracy
- 1:50:39Institute. Now, this is not going to be some
- 1:50:43referendum on Zionism here on DeProgram. We
- 1:50:46all know where we stand on that. This is about
- 1:50:48understanding the mechanics of the Israeli electoral
- 1:50:52system and questions like you just
- 1:50:55mentioned, Jamarl, what exactly can we expect
- 1:50:58to see happen in the election and the immediate
- 1:51:01aftermath with coalition building and so on.
- 1:51:04Yeah. Yeah. It'll be interesting. You
- 1:51:07get a window view in regards to Israeli politics.
- 1:51:11Yeah. Yeah. I want to get y'all's opinion on
- 1:51:15this because y'all are both professional political
- 1:51:18talking head types. Netanyahu is about as popular
- 1:51:23as AIDS, maybe herpes here in the United States.
- 1:51:26He then gets on his soapbox and starts to lecture
- 1:51:30the American people about complaining about cost
- 1:51:33of living and high fuel prices. And then immediately
- 1:51:36after this foreign leader who is less popular
- 1:51:39than herpes gets endorsed by the leader of the
- 1:51:42Republican Party, who's out campaigning in deep
- 1:51:46red places that should be a shoe-in. What is,
- 1:51:50what are the Republicans thinking here? Is that
- 1:51:54really the closing message that you want to have
- 1:51:56is a foreign leader telling your electorate,
- 1:51:59your people, sit down, shut up, stop crying,
- 1:52:03be thankful that we're fighting these radical
- 1:52:05Islamists for you? Or that seems to be what the
- 1:52:11Republican Party wants the message to be. I think
- 1:52:14that's insane. I agree with you. I agree with
- 1:52:17you. It's like this guy is less popular than
- 1:52:20herpes. At least with herpes, you had sex to
- 1:52:22get the herpes. Okay, that's not bad. You had
- 1:52:24some fun. You had some fun. Oh, the Republican
- 1:52:31Party has this incredible, both parties
- 1:52:35do, but the Republican Party even more so than
- 1:52:37the Democrats. The gap ideologically between
- 1:52:40what the elites who run the party believe and
- 1:52:44what the voters believe is un-fucking-believable.
- 1:52:48There's just absolutely no relationship whatsoever
- 1:52:51between what ordinary Republican voters like
- 1:52:56and what the direction that the party keeps pushing
- 1:52:59in. That's not quite as true with the Democrats.
- 1:53:04Is it? It's not quite as true. For example, Democrats
- 1:53:10are a little more in sync ideologically with
- 1:53:13the rhetoric coming out of their leadership.
- 1:53:16I don't think so. Okay, with the rhetoric
- 1:53:19coming out of their leadership. Yeah. Okay. I'm
- 1:53:23not even sure if that's true. Let me answer
- 1:53:29this. Would you prefer to be lied to or would
- 1:53:30you prefer for them to tell you the truth? I
- 1:53:33always prefer the truth. Yeah. But when they're
- 1:53:37given their rhetoric and they're talking about,
- 1:53:39well, we need to ensure that the inflation is
- 1:53:42too high and that we need to bring down the gas
- 1:53:45prices. Okay, well, what are they talking about,
- 1:53:47right? And Joe Biden, they were perfectly fine
- 1:53:49with gas prices going up, and they called it
- 1:53:50Putin's price hike. Right? And now they're trying
- 1:53:53to exploit the fact that Donald Trump is involved
- 1:53:55in a war, even though they also hate Iran. If
- 1:53:59you listen to, they wouldn't necessarily
- 1:54:01give Iran credit for fighting back. When Ro Khanna
- 1:54:05was asked about whether Iran had a
- 1:54:07right to defend itself, he was like, yeah, kind
- 1:54:09of, but not the way they kind of did, because,
- 1:54:12they blew up American bases. Okay,
- 1:54:15is that really? Right. You can't use violence
- 1:54:18to defend yourself in a war. Yeah, of course.
- 1:54:21I'm trying to make the point of saying, though,
- 1:54:25are liberals. I agree that liberals, basic liberals.
- 1:54:30That's what I'm talking about. That is the party.
- 1:54:33Right. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah. But
- 1:54:3790 percent of Republicans are not in favor
- 1:54:41of the policies that are pushed by the in open by the president. I don't think that's
- 1:54:44true. Well, I think it is true because Trump
- 1:54:48said the exact opposite of what he's doing right
- 1:54:51now on all counts. Meaning everything that they
- 1:54:55voted him in for, he is doing the opposite. Correct.
- 1:54:59But what I'm saying is that I'm not talking about
- 1:55:03right-wingers like me. I'm talking about Republicans.
- 1:55:05I think that they are all in like the MAGA-style
- 1:55:08Republican. Trump can do no wrong. I know I got
- 1:55:11executed from my church on Friday. Oh, God, yes.
- 1:55:15100%. No, because we were talking about pride.
- 1:55:20And I said, well, saying that America is an exceptional
- 1:55:25nation is pride. And pride is one of the things
- 1:55:28that God hates. And I was immediately, Ted, you'll
- 1:55:31love this. They called me a communist. What?
- 1:55:36Well, we already know you're a North Korean communist.
- 1:55:40That's fine, right? But yeah, no, it
- 1:55:44just went wild. So why is it that y'all do this?
- 1:55:47Wait, just to be clear, you had this fight in
- 1:55:51church. It's a Friday morning prayer meeting.
- 1:55:53Every Friday morning at 6 a.m. I go to church,
- 1:55:57and I'm there for like 30 minutes because I have
- 1:55:59to be here before 7. So we go there, we sing
- 1:56:01a hymn, we read a book, the Proverbs of the day
- 1:56:04based off the date, and then we have a discussion
- 1:56:08about it. And one of these, we're talking about
- 1:56:09is pride is. So here's my question for
- 1:56:12y'all because you're gonna keep my. Trump was
- 1:56:14just in, was just in town the day before. This
- 1:56:16is like, we're talking about how. I just want to
- 1:56:19explain. You want this up? I did. I 100 brought
- 1:56:24this up. Listen, I have no problem punching to
- 1:56:27my right at all. No, y'all know me. I'm
- 1:56:29not the most diplomatic person. It's just
- 1:56:31funny to me that you put this up in the middle
- 1:56:34of the church, but good, good. Well, because
- 1:56:35because the principle is the same, right? If
- 1:56:38God hates pride, then you just can't flip on
- 1:56:40a dime. And so I'm so proud of what Trump has
- 1:56:44done. America is an exceptional country and all
- 1:56:47this other stuff because if God hates pride and
- 1:56:50if God establishes and brings down nations, then
- 1:56:53if you live in a wicked nation, which we do,
- 1:56:56then God's going to judge this country. I may
- 1:56:58as well have just said that. I was denying the
- 1:57:02faith or something because it was that outlandish.
- 1:57:06The pastor took umbrage with me and actually
- 1:57:08made that the topic on last Friday's prayer podcast
- 1:57:11I did. It was wild. And so just like, no, if
- 1:57:15we do not bless Israel, then God's going to judge
- 1:57:21America. I said, I can't find it anywhere in
- 1:57:24the Bible. Now I can't see where if a nation
- 1:57:25lives by the sword or dies by the sword. God
- 1:57:28has a problem with hands that shed innocent blood
- 1:57:32rather than a nation or a person. And so our
- 1:57:36nation does both of these things while actively
- 1:57:39supporting things that God says he hates, like
- 1:57:42violence, unrestricted warfare, and collective
- 1:57:45punishment. So that's a problem that you have
- 1:57:46to make. Well, I'm curious. Did the pastor just
- 1:57:50get angry at you, or did he have a defense? Oh,
- 1:57:53no, no, it was, it was me against eight other
- 1:57:55dudes, and it was off to the right. Did, were they,
- 1:57:58were they just, yeah, they were, they were mad at
- 1:58:01me. Were they using, the Bible, were they
- 1:58:04using what were, or were they just yelling at
- 1:58:07you? They were yelling at me. Did they argue? I
- 1:58:09mean, I guess I'm trying to get it. Did they
- 1:58:13make an argument as to why you were wrong, or
- 1:58:14did they just get angry? Was it an argument
- 1:58:17or was it a fight? Yeah, it was no, it was a full
- 1:58:19-on fight. It was just like, no, Robby, if you don't
- 1:58:22love America, you can leave it. That, you're
- 1:58:24too much. You're influenced too much by
- 1:58:26your left-wing hosts. It's just like, it's like
- 1:58:28no, no, the issue is that I actually believe what
- 1:58:38the Bible says. I'm reading it, and one thing that
- 1:58:39God hates, that's the bad influence. It's that.
- 1:58:42But of course it is. Well, 100. It was like, so
- 1:58:44y'all let me know how many atheists it is that
- 1:58:48you bring on to a podcast of you to come talk
- 1:58:50to you and get challenged on things. And then
- 1:58:53you let me know how I'm wrong whenever I'm taking
- 1:58:57scripture out directly from the Bible and not
- 1:58:59just cherry-picking verses, showing where you
- 1:59:02are wrong. I said, y'all are making the United
- 1:59:05States, Donald Trump, and Israel as an idol.
- 1:59:08You should be ashamed of yourselves. Wow. And
- 1:59:10I was removed. And I was removed from my ministry
- 1:59:14position on Saturday as a result. Were you really?
- 1:59:17I was. Oh, I'm really sorry to hear that. That
- 1:59:20sucks. I'm not. Listen, that gives me more time
- 1:59:23to sit in the congregation with my wife and hold
- 1:59:27her hand. But listen, people who think, people
- 1:59:28who are on here, and y'all just see one part
- 1:59:32of me. Y'all understand I'm like a full person.
- 1:59:35I've always tried to be very consistent with
- 1:59:38what it is that I believe. It doesn't matter
- 1:59:40if I'm talking to y'all, talking to Ted or JT.
- 1:59:41Talking to Sonali, calling her a heifer, or going
- 1:59:44to church. I always try to be consistent. I have
- 1:59:47to tip out because I have an interview coming
- 1:59:51up. No, you're good. Okay, you go. I'll wrap
- 1:59:52up. I'll wrap up. I'll see you in an hour, JT.
- 1:59:55All right. It was wild. We'll wrap up with the
- 2:00:00comments, and then we'll be on our way here because
- 2:00:06I've got to get ready for the pre-tape. Bridget
- 2:00:08often tag-teams me with Miriam, except she doesn't
- 2:00:11need a crystal ball crystal strap-on. Please
- 2:00:14don't piss her off. I don't need her trying to
- 2:00:16open the straight-up Trump-oos owl from Zaldivar.
- 2:00:18Thanks for the $10. I'm not going to address
- 2:00:21any of that. If you so, I cannot believe there
- 2:00:23is genociding in this establishment. I'm shocked.
- 2:00:26Serious questions for the two hosts. Is there
- 2:00:30anywhere in the world Bad Cookies wants to know
- 2:00:33where someone can go to escape the reach of the
- 2:00:35American empire, or are we screwed from here on
- 2:00:37out? No, I don't know anywhere. Yeah, but still the
- 2:00:41yeah, China maybe, or Iran. Ted, is Clovis
- 2:00:45a Russian blue? Even your cats, Akami. Yes, Macadam.
- 2:00:52Clovis is a Russian blue. Dead Meme Club, thanks
- 2:00:55very much for the $10, and happy Monday back
- 2:00:59to you. And Bad Cookie says, we'll wrap it up.
- 2:01:02Let him have the last word or her. Robby, your
- 2:01:06contrast in ideology is welcomed and wanted perspective.
- 2:01:09Even if I don't agree with you, you're at least
- 2:01:12willing to talk about it. Some others will just
- 2:01:14shout you down and call you a limb. And that
- 2:01:16is very true. With that... Robby, I'll see you
- 2:01:19and JT in about 57 minutes. As for everyone else,
- 2:01:24we'll see you guys at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning,
- 2:01:299 to 10 for Tuesday's regular one-hour DeProgram.
- 2:01:32You'll have me for about 40 minutes because I
- 2:01:37have to do Jeff Dornick's show at 11 my time.
- 2:01:40Okay. All right. No worries. See you soon. Bye.
- 2:01:42Bye, y'all
