- 0:00Speaker 1: And it is now signed for football.
- 0:01Speaker 2: For Jeff Moscher inside, the Bird's gonna join us today. Jeff,
- 0:08Speaker 2: what an ending yesterday, to say the least, by the
- 0:11Speaker 2: Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Ernshaw filling in for Mike Gilpg my
- 0:15Speaker 2: on site producer, and Jeff, I want to start with
- 0:18Speaker 2: the defense. I'm gonna start you with a positive note. Okay,
- 0:21Speaker 2: the defense was spectacular yesterday. They got to Josh Allen
- 0:24Speaker 2: five times and Jalen Carter he was right in the
- 0:27Speaker 2: middle of it.
- 0:28Speaker 1: What did you make of the return of Jalen Carter?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, we talked about this last week. You know,
- 0:36Speaker 3: he's either gonna feel better because he took three not
- 0:40Speaker 3: took three weeks off, but he didn't play or practice
- 0:42Speaker 3: in three weeks, or because the PRP injections really help.
- 0:46Speaker 3: You know. I've spoke to a few medical professionals who
- 0:49Speaker 3: don't really who say that there's really not enough of
- 0:51Speaker 3: a data of efficacy on these things to really say
- 0:54Speaker 3: that their work. But any in any case, if you
- 0:57Speaker 3: give a guy, you know, three weeks off, he's gonna
- 0:59Speaker 3: look a little bit more spry. And he even said
- 1:02Speaker 3: to reporters, you know, he couldn't do a push up
- 1:05Speaker 3: before you know, his arms were hurting that much, and
- 1:08Speaker 3: now he can and I thought he obviously again came
- 1:10Speaker 3: through with two of the biggest plays in the game,
- 1:13Speaker 3: the sack on Josh Allen and of course maybe the
- 1:16Speaker 3: biggest play, the pat block.
- 1:19Speaker 4: I think you have to give a guy a.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Lot of credit, a defensive lineman when they make plays
- 1:24Speaker 3: that are outside of their normal jurisdiction. I mean, this guy,
- 1:28Speaker 3: you guys have seen this, right, he tries to intercept
- 1:32Speaker 3: the spike on several which just shows you how much
- 1:35Speaker 3: hustle and desire that he's got. And of course we've
- 1:38Speaker 3: seen him and Jordan Davis block kicks on special teams
- 1:41Speaker 3: this season, so this is a good sign for him
- 1:44Speaker 3: and for the Eagles front. I just have to wonder
- 1:49Speaker 3: as he can he'll probably you know, if they rest too,
- 1:51Speaker 3: he won't play against the Commanders, But can the shoulders
- 1:53Speaker 3: hold up over the grind of the playoff, which is
- 1:56Speaker 3: you know, going to be most likely four games and
- 1:58Speaker 3: in four.
- 1:59Speaker 4: To five weeks.
- 1:59Speaker 3: And I even he said it like he's not one
- 2:03Speaker 3: hundred percent, so I'm sure some of this will start
- 2:05Speaker 3: to impact him. But if he can play at that level,
- 2:07Speaker 3: that's pretty good for the Eagles.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Mosher yesterday defensively, I mean they held him to twelve points.
- 2:14Speaker 2: James Cook seventy four year yards on twenty carries. What
- 2:18Speaker 2: was your biggest takeaway from the defense as a whole,
- 2:21Speaker 2: going into Buffalo, tough weather conditions against Josh Allen and
- 2:26Speaker 2: coming away with a victory.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Like they did.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that, You know, I definitely had some
- 2:32Speaker 3: questions despite how dominant they were against the Raiders and
- 2:37Speaker 3: against the Commanders, because I really wanted to see them
- 2:40Speaker 3: going up against and even the Chargers had that really
- 2:42Speaker 3: beat up offensive line.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I mean you've if you watch any Chargers game since.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Then, it's amazing how good they've been offensively, or justin Herbert,
- 2:50Speaker 3: because that guy gets beat up every single time the
- 2:52Speaker 3: ball gets snapped to him. But this Bill's offensive line
- 2:55Speaker 3: is a good offensive line. Their running game is fantastic,
- 2:58Speaker 3: and the Eagles shut it down. So if they were
- 2:59Speaker 3: an lingering questions since the Bears game really about how
- 3:03Speaker 3: efficient how effective they can be against the run, which
- 3:06Speaker 3: is where it all has to start for them, don't
- 3:09Speaker 3: should be answering.
- 3:09Speaker 4: I think they're in a really good place and to
- 3:11Speaker 4: be able to do all that without Nikobe Dean. I
- 3:14Speaker 4: think was really good. There's nothing bad to say against
- 3:18Speaker 4: about the defense.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I don't even think some of the plays the Bill's
- 3:21Speaker 3: made in the second half that were big plays, we're
- 3:24Speaker 3: bad defensive plays. I mean, they really almost pitched a
- 3:27Speaker 3: perfect game there.
- 3:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean those Brandon Cooks catches where just.
- 3:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Mosch I wanted to ask you about Sirianni after the game.
- 3:36Speaker 6: He said, if you come out of this game focused
- 3:39Speaker 6: on the negative, you're going to have a quote unquote
- 3:41Speaker 6: miserable existence. And he talked about how hard it is
- 3:45Speaker 6: to win in Buffalo. You got to give yourself points
- 3:47Speaker 6: for these tough wins. Do you get a sense from
- 3:50Speaker 6: him and the coaching staff that they know how bad
- 3:54Speaker 6: the offense has been in some of these tough wins
- 3:57Speaker 6: that they've talked about, or is this just their formula
- 4:01Speaker 6: for success and they're gonna keep running it until, uh,
- 4:04Speaker 6: you know, they turn into a pumpkin.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I tell you, I've always thought Nick Sirianni had the
- 4:08Speaker 3: right temperament and mindset for what he's got to deal
- 4:11Speaker 3: with in Philadelphia, and I still think he does. However,
- 4:15Speaker 3: and it's really hard to read too much into a
- 4:17Speaker 3: clip of something you see. But there's that video of
- 4:21Speaker 3: him walking into the stadium after the wind and he's
- 4:24Speaker 3: like hamming it up, and uh now, what's everybody gonna say?
- 4:29Speaker 4: And right next to him is A J. Brown looking
- 4:31Speaker 4: at him like what.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I have no idea if A Brown even understood orknew
- 4:37Speaker 3: So I'm not really judging it off a J.
- 4:39Speaker 4: Brown's blank look.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But I do think it's a little awkward to sit
- 4:44Speaker 3: there and pound your chest after because nobody else seemed
- 4:48Speaker 3: to be doing it, right. I mean, it's okay to
- 4:49Speaker 3: be happy with a win. It's okay to tell the
- 4:51Speaker 3: media to tell your team that that was a hard
- 4:54Speaker 3: fought win, that that's fine. It was just a very
- 4:57Speaker 3: strange flex though, to be like, what are they gonna
- 5:01Speaker 3: say about us now?
- 5:02Speaker 4: I think that's what he says. There's something of that
- 5:04Speaker 4: when when what they're saying about you.
- 5:06Speaker 3: Now is how lucky you were to win that game
- 5:09Speaker 3: and how if this keeps up, which I mean, we're
- 5:12Speaker 3: week seventeen pillows, right, it's not even about keeping up.
- 5:15Speaker 3: If this is who the Eagles are, very well co
- 5:19Speaker 3: come back to bite them in the playoffs.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Football four Powered by the Inside the Birds podcast. Jeff
- 5:25Speaker 2: Moscher also Philly Voice joining us right now, and Jeff,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I tuned into the postgame show with you and Kaplan
- 5:31Speaker 2: last night.
- 5:31Speaker 1: A little bit, and you made a great analogy. Okay,
- 5:33Speaker 1: you said, you're trying not to be negative, but you're
- 5:36Speaker 1: just disappointed.
- 5:37Speaker 2: They're like like a kid, like you just disappointed them.
- 5:39Speaker 2: You're not mad at them, but you're just disappointed in
- 5:42Speaker 2: the way the offense has played this year. I mean
- 5:45Speaker 2: that second half, the philosophy coming out of halftime, I mean, run, run, pass.
- 5:50Speaker 1: It was so predictable.
- 5:52Speaker 2: I mean, what do you make of the way they
- 5:54Speaker 2: came out of halftime yesterday?
- 5:56Speaker 4: Well, I tried.
- 5:57Speaker 3: It's hard because when you own run that few places,
- 6:01Speaker 3: it's very I have no empirical evidence to say if
- 6:04Speaker 3: they went past past run that they would have been
- 6:06Speaker 3: in any better right, Like.
- 6:08Speaker 4: We just we do not know.
- 6:10Speaker 3: I feel though, fair in being critical because I felt
- 6:14Speaker 3: and you probably heard me and me and Kaplin a
- 6:16Speaker 3: little bit arguing about it, like in the first half,
- 6:19Speaker 3: even though they were more aggressive in the first half,
- 6:22Speaker 3: which is true, they came out throwing them all times.
- 6:24Speaker 3: There were two or three plays in this first half
- 6:28Speaker 3: that I felt were almost harbingers for the second half,
- 6:32Speaker 3: like submissive type plays. I mean they were at the
- 6:34Speaker 3: thirteen yard line up ten to nothing, second quarter, you know,
- 6:39Speaker 3: not too much time left, and you got a chance
- 6:42Speaker 3: to put the ball on the end zone there it's
- 6:44Speaker 3: third and eight, and you so no matter what, like
- 6:48Speaker 3: if you put the ball in the end zone and
- 6:49Speaker 3: you don't get a touchdown, you still kick the field
- 6:51Speaker 3: go anywhere, right, I guess you're mitigating against turnover, which
- 6:55Speaker 3: bothers me sometimes. But they threw that little swing screen
- 6:59Speaker 3: to Dallas, got her for three yards, and I thought
- 7:02Speaker 3: you didn't even throw a forward pass there.
- 7:03Speaker 4: I mean, you have the Bills on the ropes.
- 7:06Speaker 3: You need points because the Bills have a history of,
- 7:08Speaker 3: especially in their stadium, coming back, and you were moving
- 7:11Speaker 3: the ball. Well, I just felt that that was submissive.
- 7:14Speaker 3: There was a second and long run that was submissive.
- 7:17Speaker 3: And so even though and I understood Adam's point about,
- 7:21Speaker 3: yes they were aggressive in the first half, but it's
- 7:23Speaker 3: like the analogy I make would be like you're not
- 7:25Speaker 3: a straight A student if you get five a's and
- 7:27Speaker 3: one b. So they weren't a super aggressive team to
- 7:30Speaker 3: be in the first half because I'm knocking them for
- 7:33Speaker 3: two or three submissive plays that I believe started to
- 7:36Speaker 3: set the stage for how they were going to play
- 7:37Speaker 3: in the second half.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Right and looking at the second half, they had five
- 7:42Speaker 2: third downs of third and six or more. I mean,
- 7:45Speaker 2: that's not a formula to win football games and drive
- 7:49Speaker 2: down the field, Jeff So, I mean when they're in
- 7:51Speaker 2: these third.
- 7:54Speaker 4: They've lived in third and long all year along, I know, right, So, I.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Mean looking at that, based upon you know they were,
- 8:01Speaker 2: it seemed like they were more aggressive. I mean the
- 8:03Speaker 2: first three plays of the game they went past, past,
- 8:06Speaker 2: past to start it. So that's why I think people
- 8:07Speaker 2: were like, oh, they were really aggressive in the first half, yes,
- 8:10Speaker 2: and then the second half it was just a total opposite.
- 8:13Speaker 2: I mean, why why go back and revert back to.
- 8:16Speaker 1: What you've done and didn't work early on in the season.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Why do that?
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, you know, I mean maybe because
- 8:23Speaker 3: they ran the ball pretty decently in the first half,
- 8:25Speaker 3: they I'm gonna listen, of course, they expected that they
- 8:28Speaker 3: were gonna get good runs when they weren't. There was
- 8:31Speaker 3: a play though, where they went under center and handed
- 8:36Speaker 3: it off to Berkley and he got annihilated. And if
- 8:38Speaker 3: you if you just look at the play before the
- 8:41Speaker 3: ball is snapped and the Bills have everybody in the box,
- 8:44Speaker 3: it seemed like a pretty good time to either change
- 8:48Speaker 3: the play call, like flip the direction of the runs
- 8:50Speaker 3: or it was not up the middle, or just check
- 8:52Speaker 3: into something else.
- 8:53Speaker 4: But we've seen this all year. They don't do that.
- 8:55Speaker 3: They wait for a second left on the clock to
- 8:58Speaker 3: snap the ball so that the defense is surveyed them
- 9:00Speaker 3: for about an hour, it seems like, and diagnosed the play.
- 9:04Speaker 3: So you have a whole lot of issues there that
- 9:06Speaker 3: you've seen all year long, and you're asking why, And
- 9:09Speaker 3: I can't tell you why other than they look at
- 9:13Speaker 3: the They seem to look at the overall record and
- 9:15Speaker 3: think because we win.
- 9:18Speaker 4: But I mean, that's great until you don't win.
- 9:20Speaker 6: Yeah, It's it's like playing the over unders and you
- 9:22Speaker 6: play the under, you know, ten straight times, and then
- 9:26Speaker 6: that one time you get bit when the game goes over.
- 9:28Speaker 5: At least that's what happens to me all the time.
- 9:31Speaker 6: But Mosher, I want to ask you about the offensive
- 9:33Speaker 6: line you talked about Barker. The phone number, Yeah, Gambler,
- 9:39Speaker 6: they got to post it somewhere in here. Uh, the
- 9:42Speaker 6: offensive line. You talked about Barkley getting hit in the backfield.
- 9:46Speaker 6: I think that was the Cam Jurgens whiff maybe you're
- 9:48Speaker 6: referring to.
- 9:49Speaker 4: But I think that was earlier.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Maybe, but I mean he he had a bad whiff.
- 9:54Speaker 6: Fred Johnson almost got injured because Tyler Steen got pushed
- 9:58Speaker 6: back into him.
- 9:59Speaker 5: He went nuts on the sidelines.
- 10:01Speaker 6: What do you think of the offensive line yesterday and
- 10:03Speaker 6: the second half?
- 10:04Speaker 5: I mean, was that why they couldn't really do much?
- 10:06Speaker 5: I mean, did you understand the play calling from a
- 10:09Speaker 5: sense they try to run.
- 10:10Speaker 6: The ball, try to eat the clock up. They were
- 10:13Speaker 6: up thirteen to nothing in Buffalo and they just couldn't.
- 10:16Speaker 6: They just could not run the ball. Did you understand
- 10:18Speaker 6: the play calling from that side of things?
- 10:20Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, like I said, I understood if they
- 10:23Speaker 3: expected that they were going to run the ball.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Bet I don't believe. I don't think.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I said it in the postgame show sort of like
- 10:30Speaker 3: tongue in cheek, that they were coaching as if they
- 10:33Speaker 3: were up twenty six nothing, not thirteen nothing. I don't
- 10:35Speaker 3: think they were calling plays to take time off the clock.
- 10:38Speaker 3: I mean they didn't have enough plays to be able
- 10:41Speaker 3: to do that. Although I do think by that third
- 10:43Speaker 3: possession of the second half when they did go run,
- 10:46Speaker 3: run pass like early.
- 10:47Speaker 4: In the fourth quarter, I did think that they.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Were getting into that moment because at that point you're
- 10:51Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter. Now your third quarter offense was
- 10:53Speaker 3: not very good, and you're kind of doing the same thing.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Just hoping as your defense just holds them and holds them.
- 10:58Speaker 3: You're just probably thinking, Bam, you know, we're gonna just
- 11:04Speaker 3: keep our defense will keep bailing us out. So I
- 11:05Speaker 3: do think there was some of that leader as a
- 11:08Speaker 3: game went on. I just don't know in the third
- 11:10Speaker 3: quarter what they thought that they were going to get
- 11:12Speaker 3: or what they were hoping to get, but they weren't
- 11:14Speaker 3: getting it.
- 11:15Speaker 2: We're talking with Jeff Moscher inside the Birds Football at four. Jeff,
- 11:21Speaker 2: when we talk about the offense, Jalen Hurts somehow seems
- 11:24Speaker 2: to find a wess record against Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes,
- 11:28Speaker 2: Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson is unbelievable seven to one over
- 11:32Speaker 2: the past couple of years.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Right, So for Jalen, I know the second half was
- 11:37Speaker 1: a struggle.
- 11:38Speaker 2: They did not He did not complete a pass for
- 11:39Speaker 2: the second time in the second half.
- 11:41Speaker 1: And still won the game.
- 11:42Speaker 4: This year.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Just tell me about how he continues to find ways
- 11:47Speaker 2: to win, and it just shows that maybe I guess
- 11:49Speaker 2: he's just a big game quarterback. He doesn't need to
- 11:51Speaker 2: put up those numbers like all those other quarterbacks that
- 11:53Speaker 2: I just listed.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I don't.
- 11:56Speaker 3: This is not It just doesn't feel like the game
- 11:58Speaker 3: to use that as the comparison, because they could have
- 12:03Speaker 3: lost it just as easily as they want it, right,
- 12:05Speaker 3: and it wasn't his fault either way. I'm not saying
- 12:07Speaker 3: you had a bad game. I don't think oh for
- 12:09Speaker 3: seven was like he was.
- 12:10Speaker 4: He was terrible. He wasn't great, but he wasn't terrible.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I just what I would say to that is I
- 12:16Speaker 3: think that Jalen Hurts has made strides this year as
- 12:19Speaker 3: a passer. I thought that ball that he threw in
- 12:22Speaker 3: the first half on the fourth possession, maybe second possesion
- 12:26Speaker 3: of the second quarter to DeVante Smith between two defenders
- 12:29Speaker 3: was one of his best throws of the season, and
- 12:31Speaker 3: he's made a couple of those kind of throws lately,
- 12:34Speaker 3: like the Chargers are the same DeVante Smith third and
- 12:37Speaker 3: long right, And it bottles my mind that they put
- 12:42Speaker 3: the ball in his hands in those situations, he makes
- 12:45Speaker 3: those throws, and then they sort of not let him
- 12:48Speaker 3: do that as the game goes on, and I, yeah,
- 12:50Speaker 3: I know, you know, this is not a guy you
- 12:54Speaker 3: want drop him.
- 12:54Speaker 4: Back forty times. Totally understand that. But he was in
- 12:58Speaker 4: a good rhythm.
- 12:59Speaker 3: And I felt like the play call and got him
- 13:01Speaker 3: out of that rhythm, got the whole offense out of
- 13:04Speaker 3: that rhythm. And you know, I think if the Eagles
- 13:09Speaker 3: are gonna lose, right, I would almost rather see him
- 13:11Speaker 3: go down like thirty four to thirty and say, hey,
- 13:15Speaker 3: you know, they left it all on the table with
- 13:16Speaker 3: their passing game and tried because they know that they're
- 13:19Speaker 3: just not getting that impactful run game.
- 13:22Speaker 4: That they got last year back.
- 13:23Speaker 3: And you almost could probably be more at peace with
- 13:25Speaker 3: it than if they lose a game thirteen to twelve
- 13:28Speaker 3: in the playoffs because they just did the same thing
- 13:30Speaker 3: over and over again.
- 13:31Speaker 6: Yeah, is that them like playing scared, like just risk averse,
- 13:35Speaker 6: like not wanting to make that costly turnover and they
- 13:39Speaker 6: might just go down like that.
- 13:41Speaker 4: They don't call it that.
- 13:42Speaker 5: They don't want to call that mark.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I mean, even Jalen Hurts do you think Jalen hurts
- 13:46Speaker 3: the ball, people would sort of kind of go all
- 13:49Speaker 3: aj Brown on it and say, hey, let me throw
- 13:52Speaker 3: the ball little more when we're doing well like that.
- 13:53Speaker 3: But he he defends the decisions as much as Nick
- 13:57Speaker 3: Cuianni or anyone else, and he says that this is
- 14:00Speaker 3: the smart way to play. And you know, if you're
- 14:02Speaker 3: into analytics, and it's correct because they win. You know,
- 14:05Speaker 3: they've wonted like a seventy five percent clip this year,
- 14:08Speaker 3: so if you count the beginning of the year end
- 14:10Speaker 3: this year. So it's hard to argue with until you
- 14:14Speaker 3: lose a game. And I think, as the Eagles have
- 14:16Speaker 3: showed you this year against the Giants, against the Bears,
- 14:19Speaker 3: against the Bronco or like, they're not as flawless as
- 14:23Speaker 3: they were last year.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Right last year at this time, we felt, man.
- 14:26Speaker 3: It's either them or the Lions, and they're probably just
- 14:28Speaker 3: as good, if not better than the Lions. We never
- 14:31Speaker 3: got that matchup, and as soon as the Lions were out,
- 14:33Speaker 3: it was like the Eagles are going to.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Be in the super Bowl.
- 14:35Speaker 3: And then as soon as the Super Bowl and you
- 14:37Speaker 3: saw how the Chiefs were playing, it felt like inevitable.
- 14:39Speaker 4: This year I think we can all agree.
- 14:41Speaker 3: At least, it feels like the gap between the Eagles
- 14:44Speaker 3: and other teams are not only closer, but the Eagles
- 14:46Speaker 3: may not be the best team in the NFC. I mean,
- 14:49Speaker 3: I think the Rams are the most complete team or
- 14:51Speaker 3: played the best football from start to finish than the Eagles.
- 14:55Speaker 3: Not to say the Eagles can't beat any of these teams,
- 14:57Speaker 3: but the gap just isn't there.
- 15:00Speaker 6: You mentioned last year Detroit was the one seed, the
- 15:02Speaker 6: Eagles were the two seed. Lions got clipped. Eagles became
- 15:06Speaker 6: the one seed. This year they have a chance to
- 15:09Speaker 6: become the two seed again, but they're gonna need help
- 15:12Speaker 6: to do that. Siriano was asked about playing the starters
- 15:15Speaker 6: in week eighteen. He kind of said, we're not there yet,
- 15:17Speaker 6: but we do see the value in resting our guys
- 15:20Speaker 6: because we've done it before and we've succeeded with that.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Where do you stand on Week eighteen, Jeff?
- 15:27Speaker 3: So, all right, if you guys may have to help
- 15:29Speaker 3: me out, just so that I understand, I've been busy
- 15:31Speaker 3: with some Philly Voice stuff today. The Bears would have
- 15:35Speaker 3: to lose is it more than just the Bears would
- 15:37Speaker 3: have to lose?
- 15:37Speaker 4: For the Eagles to get.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Just the Bears have to lose to the Lions. The
- 15:42Speaker 2: Eagles have to beat the Commanders.
- 15:44Speaker 1: That is how they get the two.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Seed, right, and the Bears are gonna play the early
- 15:47Speaker 3: game correct at the NFL simultaneously, yep, the.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Right, listen.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I personally think the number two seed is very important
- 16:00Speaker 3: at the extra home game, right, Like, if it's there,
- 16:04Speaker 3: you should go for it. I don't know what Nick
- 16:06Speaker 3: Sirianni is gonna do, but I mean, if it's there,
- 16:08Speaker 3: at least you should go for it with your eye
- 16:10Speaker 3: on the scoreboard. And you know, if the Bears are
- 16:14Speaker 3: pulling away and you feel good, you can take guys out,
- 16:16Speaker 3: you know.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But I.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Mean that is their m just the rest of their guys.
- 16:21Speaker 6: They really see the value when not playing their guys
- 16:24Speaker 6: when they don't have to.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Yeah, but there's not really been a This is a
- 16:29Speaker 3: different situation where there's a big difference between me and
- 16:32Speaker 3: obviously the two in three seed as far as home game.
- 16:34Speaker 3: So I think that that would merit maybe some a
- 16:38Speaker 3: different course of action.
- 16:39Speaker 2: And if you're the two seed, you would play the
- 16:41Speaker 2: Green Bay Packers in the first round. I mean, that's
- 16:45Speaker 2: difference than then it's different than San Francisco or the Rams,
- 16:49Speaker 2: et cetera.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Like that would be a more favorable matchup.
- 16:52Speaker 2: But Jeff, I mean, how much trust do you have
- 16:54Speaker 2: in the Lions to beat the Chicago Bears, Especially with
- 16:57Speaker 2: Chicago coming off of a loss last night, They're going
- 17:00Speaker 2: want to find a way to win in the final
- 17:01Speaker 2: week of the year.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Well, I mean, there's certainly worse teams that they could
- 17:04Speaker 3: be playing. A Lions have had a disappointing season, but
- 17:07Speaker 3: they are eight to eight and they will I think
- 17:09Speaker 3: they've got the right guy and Dan Campbell to motivate
- 17:12Speaker 3: them to want to win that game.
- 17:16Speaker 4: So I mean, I would think that this is not going.
- 17:19Speaker 3: To be a cakewalk for the Bears by any stretch,
- 17:23Speaker 3: so that will keep things interesting. But like going back
- 17:26Speaker 3: to that conversation, the two seed would get you, most
- 17:30Speaker 3: likely right the Packers.
- 17:31Speaker 4: The way the Packers have been, they're a little beat up.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I know Jordan Love was out, He'll probably be back,
- 17:37Speaker 3: But I'm gonna know if the Rams wind up getting
- 17:39Speaker 3: the six seed or the the Niners get to say,
- 17:42Speaker 3: is that any better?
- 17:42Speaker 4: I mean, it almost makes me think.
- 17:44Speaker 3: The three to six matchup might be well, let's see
- 17:47Speaker 3: if they get the Yeah, it almost makes me think
- 17:50Speaker 3: that you should go for the two seed to get
- 17:52Speaker 3: the Packers, because that might.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Actually be a better opponent than the Rams or the Seahawks.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Are the Niners, right, so you would so you would
- 18:00Speaker 2: start everybody next week going into the game and then
- 18:02Speaker 2: scoreboard watch.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Would that be my best case scenario?
- 18:04Speaker 3: I would go for the two seed. I think it's important.
- 18:07Speaker 3: I think getting a home game, another home game is
- 18:09Speaker 3: a big thing.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Mosher, before we let you go.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Lane Johnson most likely going to be back for the postseason.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I don't know about next week.
- 18:18Speaker 2: But how much of a difference will he make to
- 18:21Speaker 2: this offense, if any, in the running game if he
- 18:25Speaker 2: is to return for the postseason.
- 18:27Speaker 4: I mean, Lane Johnson has played.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I think he's I'm trying to think of ten or
- 18:34Speaker 3: eleven games this year, and while he's great, it's not
- 18:39Speaker 3: like the Eagles have had a fantastic running game at
- 18:42Speaker 3: all at any point this year.
- 18:44Speaker 4: So he certainly helps.
- 18:46Speaker 3: And you've wont him back, but I don't think Fred
- 18:48Speaker 3: has been a liability very much, if at all.
- 18:52Speaker 4: Yeah, Lane's played.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Ten games and the Eagles have not had a great
- 18:56Speaker 3: running game in any of the Taniello maybe against the
- 18:59Speaker 3: Giant stats. I think a couple of good moments. But
- 19:01Speaker 3: I guess I'm saying is I don't think it's going
- 19:03Speaker 3: to make some kind of huge difference in the run game,
- 19:06Speaker 3: which is the area of the offense that must be.
- 19:11Speaker 4: Must improve, or well, listen the.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Air of the offense that if it did get back
- 19:15Speaker 3: to last year's for him, you'd feel really.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Really good about the Eagles winning the Super Bowl again.
- 19:20Speaker 2: All right, Jeff, that'll wrap it up for us at
- 19:22Speaker 2: football at four. We appreciate you jumping on today with
- 19:25Speaker 2: the BC team.
