- 0:18SPEAKER_04: The divas, the playmakers, and the people that just make the NFL world spin.
- 0:25SPEAKER_04: We are talking wide receivers and specifically wide receiver rankings in this episode of FF Space Podcast.
- 0:33SPEAKER_04: Of course, I am Nada alongside the tip and Nico.
- 0:37SPEAKER_04: Man, hey guys, okay, I don't want to hot take artists this right into the show, but Nico, let me know.
- 0:44SPEAKER_04: Because I see a lot of this going on, a lot of this talk, a lot of discussion happening, and it's the death of the wide receiver, too.
- 0:51SPEAKER_04: Now, in a brief summary, maybe not even a summary, a couple phrases or sentences.
- 0:55SPEAKER_04: Do you like agree or disagree with the fact that there just isn't one?
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm gonna disagree with that.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: I, you know, obviously for this show tonight, we went through our rankings, we put together a top 40.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: And for me, when I was filling out kind of those wide receiver two rankings, when you're looking through wide receiver 12 through 24, you know, I definitely had the guys that I wanted in that section or in that tier, if you will.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Um, it was just a matter of obviously combing through it and you know identifying the upside and you know the range of outcomes for that specific player.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I would say the age of the wide receiver two is alive and well.
- 1:35SPEAKER_04: Now is is it worse or better than the running back twos?
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: Well, so I definitely think that in your first three rounds, you have to have two solid running backs.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: Um, I that I think that's the key this year, um, because the drop is so far um on the on the on the running back side.
- 2:01SPEAKER_02: The wide receiver side, um, there's some interesting names, and one name that sticks out right now for me is Wandell Robinson.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: I think he finished like wide receiver 14 last year.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: He had a thousand yards, 90 plus catches.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: I think that that's a guy who you're gonna draft hopefully as your wide receiver three, but can give you wide receiver two value.
- 2:24SPEAKER_02: The question is, how many of those players?
- 2:26SPEAKER_02: There just weren't that many.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: It was like a bunch of wide receiver ones, and then it was like a hodgepodge of wide receiver twos and threes together.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: So that that's what it was, or what we projected wide receiver threes, they became wide receiver twos like Wando Robinson.
- 2:40SPEAKER_02: So it's just one of those situations where I don't know if it's dead, like Nico is saying, but there's definitely like a drop-off somewhere.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: It's just like where the hell is it?
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: Like we we don't know where the drop-off is.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: I mean, Zay Flowers last year had more points than uh um AJ Brown.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: Like, like, come on, like who saw that, you know?
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: So, and I think it'll happen again, but we're not gonna talk about that.
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 3:04SPEAKER_04: So, on this episode, of course, we're gonna be discussing our rankings, debating who should go over what, because I mean, realistically, in your redraft leagues, going to the draft, you're gonna be put in a situation where you got to decide do I want this player over this player, over that player, or this position in general.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: So, of course, we're gonna be discussing that to make sure you are set and prepped when you hit that redraft season.
- 3:25SPEAKER_04: But of course, hey, you're gonna want to make sure you like the video, follow the socials, and of course, comment down below what you think of the show.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: We are live on YouTube and Twitch and Twitter, of course, as a matter of fact.
- 3:37SPEAKER_04: So, if you want to interact with us, we are putting comments up on the screen.
- 3:40SPEAKER_04: So, you want to make sure that you comment up, ask questions, join the discussion, and of course, subscribe to the channel.
- 3:46SPEAKER_04: And of course, if you are if you are an audio listener, you can find us on any podcasting platform at FF Space.
- 3:53SPEAKER_04: So, of course, we got a lot of news and notes to talk about, but of course, Nico, this one's all you NFL headlines.
- 4:08SPEAKER_01: Well, last week, you know, Tip was saying, hey, it's the dog days of summer, this and that, and not a lot of news.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: So I definitely wanted to come prepared.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: And um, we're you know, about to get bombarded with news daily, hourly, you know, as soon as camp starts and whatnot, but I always find uh few nuggets uh here worth talking about, and there's quite a bit of news, so I'm just gonna breeze through it, guys.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: Uh, tip matter at the end, feel free to share any thoughts on the news and notes.
- 4:36SPEAKER_01: So, first of all, uh Jacoby Brissett's contract still unresolved.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: JJ McCarthy and Kyler Murray will battle it out uh right up to the start of the season.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: Uh Ian Rappaport reported.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: Uh, DeAndre Swift, a quote unquote vital part of the Bears offense, and he's capable of much more.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: An old friend of ours, Le'Veon Bell, was arrested in Canton.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Tip, I think you're you're you're gonna be in Canton this weekend.
- 5:07SPEAKER_01: Maybe you can uh go uh dude.
- 5:09SPEAKER_02: I am gonna put my gumshoe, uh detective Dick Tracy, uh Columbo.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna I'm I'm I'm going to find out what the hell happened.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm pretty sure I can read it, but I need to know.
- 5:21SPEAKER_02: Like, I'm gonna be there.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: Le'Veon Bell, what the hell?
- 5:24SPEAKER_02: Come on, Le'Veon Bell, what the hell?
- 5:27SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 5:28SPEAKER_01: Uh, Cam Scadaboo, for those of you that are on social media, which is probably a lot of you.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, he did a backflip live uh last week.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: He is apparently okay um after falling over from that backflip.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: George Pickens will officially play on the franchise tender.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: Um, and Saints running back Alvin Camara has agreed to a restructured contract to keep him in New Orleans.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: There had been significant speculation that Camara could be the odd man out, but because of his high salary and the team signing of ETN, uh he will restructure and remain in New Orleans.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Jaguars head coach, Liam Cohen, um, was praising Byshall Tutin, Scootin' Tutin, um, the other day, saying his yards after contact and rushing yards, man, when he can get going and downhill.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, he was a 4.28 coming out.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: This dude can fly.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: We're expecting big things from Tootin this year.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Bucky Irving, our uh friend of the show, he will be good to go for training camp.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Sam Laporta fully cleared.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: Uh, he had been dealing with a herniated disc and he was fully cleared earlier this month.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Uh, per source setting him up for a full go at training camp.
- 6:51SPEAKER_01: Makai Lemon, ready to go after dealing with uh hamstring injury and OTAs.
- 6:57SPEAKER_01: Charbonnet will officially start the year on the pup, the physical, physically unable to perform.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Um, and then lastly, wide receiver.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: We haven't heard of this guy in a while.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: We did not hear of him last year.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Tank Dell.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: Uh, he showed some videos online of him, you know, running routes.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: He looks pretty sharp.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Let's pull him up and see what he looks like.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: Maybe we'll do that some other time.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, there it is.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: No, there it is.
- 7:33SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, oh dang, okay.
- 7:37SPEAKER_02: That knee looks nice, but I need to see it on the NFL field.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Dude, that injury was gruesome.
- 7:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you guys are.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: He looks slippery, like you said.
- 7:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, he looks good.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: Um, I I fantasy-wise, for me, um, this is only like a last result.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: I I've been doing some drafts here recently, mock drafts and real drafts.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: He's not going off the board.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: Like, I have not seen Tank Dell, and I'm doing a 16-team D I IDP league right now, uh, with my guy Iggy.
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: Shout out to him, FF7s, um, supporting Kawasaki's disease.
- 8:13SPEAKER_02: I gotta, I gotta always plug my guy Iggy, but um, but yeah, I'm doing at least and I don't think he's come off the board yet.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: And it's a 16-team 20 rounds, like I might just scoop him up because we're like in like round 18.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, for me, I think he's kind of more of a best ball bet, you know, play the upside, but obviously a lot going on there.
- 8:33SPEAKER_01: Um, I think for me, out of all the news that came out over the past week, uh, it's worth noting the Camara news and the effect that it might have on uh Travis Etienne.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: Like AK is a Saints legend.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Uh, and if they restructured his contract to bring him back, it's obviously because they want him back.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: It's not so much that I think that you should be, you know, targeting Kamara, but more of a hit, I would say, to ETN's ceiling.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: I still like ETN, like he was super efficient last year.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: He was eighth in yards created, 11th in evaded tackles, and he averaged 14.3 fantasy points per game and was the RB10 on the season, but again, something for fantasy managers to uh keep tabs on.
- 9:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's interesting.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: Natter, what do you think on that one?
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: Or do you have any other ones that you wanted to talk about?
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: Two and baby, you guys spent yeah, I don't know how many last episodes.
- 9:29SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: I just want to say, like, hey, once again, correct, and it's just a reoccurring has not blown yet, sir.
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: Stop though.
- 9:40SPEAKER_04: It doesn't matter.
- 9:41SPEAKER_04: His I told you, fourth round ADP is not where he's going to end up.
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: It's going to start climbing, it's gonna start moving up, and the earlier you're able to grab him, the better at this point.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: Because, like you guys mentioned, there is a steep drop-off in running back talent once you start reaching the third round.
- 9:58SPEAKER_04: And of course, you know, this is a wide receiver episode.
- 10:01SPEAKER_04: So, of course, when you start going into three wide receiver leagues or full PPR leagues, you're gonna have to start making business decisions on who you're gonna give up in those earlier rounds.
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: Like you can go two wide receivers and then RB, or you can go RB, two wide receivers, fourth round, you go for the value pick, and tootin' gonna be there somewhere to help you out and fill a lot of the gaps that you have on your roster because he's going to, I guarantee it, he's going to outplay his ADP this year compared to somebody else, like um shoot Bucky Irving.
- 10:30SPEAKER_04: He's not outplaying his ADP this year, but Brewster a bit, uh, my boy Tutin, he's gonna outplay his ADP this year.
- 10:36SPEAKER_04: He's gotta be somebody you go after.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you might have his name in our little mock draft.
- 10:41SPEAKER_04: I'm not gonna try to, I just know him as Tutin.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: All right, like I'm not saying the first name, but you guys already know I can't say names, don't do this to me.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: No, but I think that it was on to something.
- 10:53SPEAKER_02: Natter drafted him like fourth in our like in a little that little mock draft that we did, and we we we clowned him.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: Well, we were like, what the hell?
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: But you might be on to something, man.
- 11:03SPEAKER_02: I really was thinking Chris Rodriguez was gonna make some more noise, but I guess he's not fully healed from that foot injury.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: So Tutin is is the guy.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: What do you call him?
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: Scootin' Tutin.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there you go.
- 11:13SPEAKER_04: That's that's Newton.
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: That's uh Nico's name for him.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: Me, I just he's just he's just that guy, he's just he's just him.
- 11:19SPEAKER_02: But if we then I gotta get a next I I well, I'm gonna just call him Shaw.
- 11:23SPEAKER_04: Shaw.
- 11:24SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: Shaw Shaw.
- 11:25SPEAKER_04: We should get Shaw.
- 11:28SPEAKER_04: Oh, Bait Shaw.
- 11:29SPEAKER_04: Okay, uh, true.
- 11:30SPEAKER_04: Shaw guy, yeah.
- 11:30SPEAKER_04: I'm calling him Shaw.
- 11:31SPEAKER_04: That's what's one way to get it.
- 11:32SPEAKER_04: That's like people who name their uh uh the kids like Deborah, but they always go by Debbie, but never bruh.
- 11:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, never bruh.
- 11:40SPEAKER_04: Bruh.
- 11:41SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 11:42SPEAKER_04: I think that sounds better, but that's just can we get a brah sound bite?
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we mean what bruh, but of course, hey, you know what?
- 11:52SPEAKER_04: That's a perfect segue to the wide receivers, and let's start talking rankings, wide receiver ranking.
- 12:03SPEAKER_02: Nice, okay.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: Did you like that one?
- 12:06SPEAKER_04: I came up with oh, that looked kind of anime-ish.
- 12:09SPEAKER_04: I know, kind of not bad, huh?
- 12:10SPEAKER_04: I'm patting myself on the back one for that one.
- 12:12SPEAKER_04: But all right, of course, we got our rankings going on, and of course, we're gonna start with the top.
- 12:16SPEAKER_04: Jamar Chase, he's 101, right?
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Tip, lead us on.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: No, he is number one for me, and and I don't understand why he's not number one for you guys.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: I like, you know, I'm not concerned about T.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: Higgins.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: T.
- 12:30SPEAKER_02: Higgins, his ceiling as far as targets, was 110 targets.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: Um, that's around what he'll average if he's healthy, and that's the if that's the thing.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: If he's not healthy, which he's you know, only played one healthy season in his in his career.
- 12:44SPEAKER_02: But Jamar Chase is just commanding targets at an easy, like he's 180 plus targets, and that's what he's gonna get again this year.
- 12:52SPEAKER_02: Even if Joe Burrow doesn't play, they still they're gonna be throwing the ball, they're gonna throw the ball to Jamar Chase, they're gonna find ways to get him the ball uh in space, and that's exactly what they'll continue to do.
- 13:03SPEAKER_02: So Jamar Chase is number one for me, it's not even close.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: He's one of the strongest run uh wide receivers in the league.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, the dude is built like a tank, he runs like a running back when the ball is in his hand, and if he has a full head of steam safeties, DBs look out because you're gonna get run over.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Uh, the dude is just insane.
- 13:22SPEAKER_02: His ceiling is off the charts.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: He's had games where he's had 20 targets, 16 catches.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: Like this kid is just I I know the puka nakua, I get it, but not for me this year, man.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: It's Jamar Chase.
- 13:36SPEAKER_04: I mean, Nico, help me out here.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: You're on my side.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: I tell him why he's wrong.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so the Bengals have obviously they've made a lot of off-season moves to, you know, improve their defense.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: Um, obviously bringing in like sexy Dexie, uh, signing Boy Mafe.
- 13:56SPEAKER_01: Like they have made some moves to improve their defense, which you know, when you look at it in a lens, it's like they were kind of like the Cardinals to some degree offensively, where it was like game flow was just like always in their favor because of how bad their defense was.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: And for me, the reason I had Puka at my number one wide receiver over Jamar, albeit still in tier one, those were the two that were in tier one.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: It was really just a combination of you know, Puka being more efficient than Jamar in yards per route run, first downs per route run, two metrics I talk about a lot in my evaluation of players, and the Bengals having a really, really solid wide receiver two and young wide receiver two still in T Higgins, who at this time to me is a better option um than the 33-year-old Devonta Adams.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: And when you combine a better head coach, a better offensive scheme, Adams's TD regression that I fully expect for this year, it should more open up more room for guys like Puka and the Rams running backs to score more touchdowns.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Ultimately, similar to uh Bijan and Gibbs last week when we were talking about them as kind of one and two, I'd be ecstatic to have either.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: But if I'm on the clock and these two are my options, I'm rolling with Puka Nukes.
- 15:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and I you know what I gotta agree with Nico, and it's not necessarily a talent issue because honestly, I think Jamar Chase is a better wide receiver than Puka, but of course, it just becomes a situation around him.
- 15:34SPEAKER_04: Like, okay, is Joe Burrow gonna play 17 games this season?
- 15:38SPEAKER_04: Probably not.
- 15:38SPEAKER_04: He always finds a way to get hurt, and uh what happens when, of course, the best quarter, what I should say, the best one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL gets hurt.
- 15:47SPEAKER_04: There's a significant uh points per game per uh reduction from the of course all wide receivers, it's just gonna happen naturally, right?
- 15:55SPEAKER_04: But of course, I fully expect Matthew Stafford to play all 17 games.
- 15:59SPEAKER_04: He's one of those guys that it doesn't matter if he can stand, he's playing, and that's what you want out of your quarterback.
- 16:05SPEAKER_04: Joe Burrow, like he always finds a way to get hurt.
- 16:07SPEAKER_04: Now, granted, his injuries are a little significant, but like they just always seem to happen to the guy.
- 16:11SPEAKER_04: So, unfortunately, that is something you always have to think about when you're talking about the person that you're building your team off of.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: And Puka, he's just a much safer bet in that aspect.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: I mean, like everything Nico said, better head coach, better scheme, better offensive line, better quarterback when it comes to throwing the ball downfield and just throwing those precision uh passes to make sure that he's getting those fantasy points that you need.
- 16:35SPEAKER_04: The only thing about Puka that really knocks him down is that his off-the-field antics are a little interesting.
- 16:41SPEAKER_04: Uh, I mean, there's a lot to be said on his uh uh maturity, I guess I should say, in that aspect.
- 16:48SPEAKER_04: But I mean, when it comes to on the field, I gotta go with him all day.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: I knew it's also not like it's also not like crazy off-the-field, like Rashida IU stuff.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: It's more just like, dude, you're being a little silly.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Like, let's let's keep some things internal.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: But uh, tip, what do you got?
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: What's your rebuttal?
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know, that may be a weakness of his.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know the dudes, but I but but I will say this I knew the quarterback situation was gonna come up.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: I knew it.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: I knew you guys were gonna come on here and try to tell me that a 38-year-old Matthew Stafford is better than a 29-year-old Joe Burrow, who I think look, I'm not gonna sit here and dog Matthew Stafford because I think Matthew Stafford is a pocket demon, but you're not gonna sit here and tell me that Joe Burrow went healthy and don't look at the injury stuff.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: That's football.
- 17:42SPEAKER_02: That is football.
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Like, yes, he he's gotten hurt several times, and it's several times when people needed him.
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: He's only had what two full healthy seasons.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: But when Joe Burrow, Joe Cool, when he's out there, the dude is smoking the competition.
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: So I I think that you know, yes, you gotta you got a better coach.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: I will give you that.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: Sean McVay is far superior than Zach Taylor, and I'm not understanding why the brown the Bengals to keep higher, keep keep him, maybe because he's on a cheap contract because they're cheap, but anyway.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: But um, I I just think Joe Burrow, dude, why not?
- 18:15SPEAKER_02: If you have an opportunity to have Jamar Chase and you have a person like Joe Burrow throwing you the ball, man, I'm going for it all the time.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: And then the other issue, too, you you you said it, Nico.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: Yes, Devontae Adams is 33 years old.
- 18:29SPEAKER_02: He we both are not high on Devontae Adams, but can Devontae Adams get eight touchdowns?
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: Yes, easily.
- 18:36SPEAKER_02: I think as long as he stays healthy, he will get touchdowns.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: That's where they will utilize him, and that's why I think sometimes Puka might get forgotten.
- 18:43SPEAKER_02: Puka's a big size wide receiver himself, but you know, Devontae Adams, they had that chemistry last year, and I just think that that's something that can maintain over uh to the second year with both of them.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, it's hard for me to knock on Joe Burrow because just two weeks ago I was singing his praises, and again, tip, like you said, if he's healthy, he's elite.
- 19:03SPEAKER_04: But I mean, name another quarterback that in their stand of what is it, seven years torn their ACL, uh, other ACL, uh uh toe turf toe, uh yeah, them too.
- 19:15SPEAKER_04: Um, and then their UCL destroyed his elbow.
- 19:19SPEAKER_04: Like it's just I I know quarterback has had that.
- 19:22SPEAKER_04: Some people like Matthew Stafford, they're just durable, like they just don't get hurt, they don't put themselves in that kind of position.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: He's the one quarterback that I'll keep going back to that well, though.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: Like, I I don't care.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: I like like Joe Burrow, Joe Burrow.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: I don't care.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: I don't like I I Joe Burrow's the only quarterback where I'm like, I can care less about the rushing.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: I like he will do it if he needs to, but I really could care less about it because I know that if he's healthy a full season, I'm getting 4,000 yards plus and I'm getting 40 touchdowns easy.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Like, like that, that's no question.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna get that.
- 19:54SPEAKER_02: Um and now all I gotta think on is health, right?
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: And let's not forget, too, like Flacco is still there, and Jamar was revived when Flacco was traded over from the Browns.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: So, you know, quarterback proof.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: The bet, yeah.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, I mean, you could say that.
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, no, I mean you bring up a lot of good points, and at the end of the day, you know, it truthfully is you know two really solid options at the top of your draft.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: I definitely am just leaning more on the head coach and the better, what I believe to be offense and the team that has that goal of you know winning it all and gonna be locked in all year and try to let Stafford, you know, ride off into the sunset.
- 20:39SPEAKER_02: Well, from a team that's that's you know projected to win it all to the Atlanta Falcons, we go.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Um the the Atlanta Falcons.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: I I I I gotta ask uh Natter.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Um, I thought you hated Drake London.
- 20:54SPEAKER_02: I thought you did not like Drake London.
- 20:55SPEAKER_02: I thought that I do he was for sure gonna be outside of your top 10, and he wound up being number nine.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: That's some lovable hate.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Oh what you know, what happened?
- 21:08SPEAKER_04: I hate him.
- 21:09SPEAKER_04: Don't get me wrong.
- 21:11SPEAKER_04: I he he's on the specifically the top of him and Jonathan Taylor, the two players that you just do not draft.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: Like, if you want to win your league, don't draft them, skip up on them and let somebody else do that.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: But when it comes to rankings, I can't sit there and just drop uh Drake London from nine that I currently have to 15 or 16, um, just because I don't like them, because if anything else, it's just rage bait and just inaccurate rankings at that point.
- 21:39SPEAKER_04: And at some point, you know, you gotta have legitimacy to it.
- 21:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 21:42SPEAKER_04: I'm always accurate, like I'm always right, and that's the problem.
- 21:45SPEAKER_04: You know, I might not be right right now, but I will be right later on.
- 21:49SPEAKER_04: And because of that, uh I mean, uh I still don't agree with drafting Drake London.
- 21:55SPEAKER_04: I think you should be drafting somebody like you know, of course, uh Rasheed Rice over.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Him uh and and that's when like the drop off of talent that we discussed for me is significant.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: Like Chris Olave, he's gonna be up there.
- 22:07SPEAKER_04: I expect a big season.
- 22:09SPEAKER_04: He's just also never really healthy majority of the time.
- 22:12SPEAKER_04: And his injuries are significant because they're always to the head.
- 22:15SPEAKER_04: Um, Territor McMillan, like okay, like I'm you're really gonna ask me to draft a Panthers player over Trey Columbia, like it's just hard to do, and that makes it so like I can't realistically drop him on the list, but I still could say I don't want him.
- 22:31SPEAKER_04: And in a redraft league, if I'm in that situation, no, I'm looking towards a running back, I'm looking towards a quarterback.
- 22:37SPEAKER_04: I'm seeing the oh, did what did any tight ends get drafted?
- 22:40SPEAKER_04: Okay, let me take a look at that real fast.
- 22:42SPEAKER_04: I will circumvent my way around the draft to make sure he doesn't end up on my roster, and that's why I still don't like him.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: So this kind of sounds like how you felt about Taylor last week when we were talking about running backs, like it's out of respect and talent that they're you know ranked where you rank them.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: But at the end of the day, you know, in the handful of drafts you've done already and your rankings, like it's not necessarily someone you're targeting, but it's more so because of their talent, they have to be there.
- 23:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, at some point you have to be realistic with it, and you can't just be one of those rage bay and uh hot take artists like on ESPN and sorts to to actually have some analysis to it, you could just still not like a player and not want them on your roster.
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: Sure.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: See, for me, I've always been team Drake, I have him at my wide receiver seven.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: I think this guy's a dog.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, with zero target competition in the wide receiver room when he's got Zacchaeus.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't even know how.
- 23:40SPEAKER_01: See, you want to talk about not knowing how to say players' name, Olamade and Zacchaeus.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we'll go with that.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: That's why I just said Zacchaeus, but I mean Jahan Dotson, like, nah, like sure, there's there's Kyle Pitts, but you know, to me, Drake London, he should absolutely dominate target share.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, last season, London, he was third in red zone target share, sixth in fantasy points per game, fifth in target share, eighth in yards per route run, and first downs per route run.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: And he finished as the wide receiver 17 on the season, but it's because he missed five games.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: I'm not worried about his QB situation.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: They can throw out any lefty they want.
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: I believe in London's talent, I believe that he's gonna be, you know, a great pick in the second round of your draft.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: I think this guy's a stud, and um I have him as my wide receiver seven.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: I have him uh right behind C D and Justin Jefferson and right before one spot above AJ Brown.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: Look, I I have him at 11.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm not it's not we're not far off, guys.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: It's that this is not one of those where it's like, whoa, like we're 10 plus spots of uh you know difference, but I I can see points on both sides.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: I could see points with uh where where Nico went, and then I could see some points with Natter as well.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: Because I mean this offense could be a sputtering offense, it could be a Bichon, that's it, offense.
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: And you know, some weeks he uh Drake London shows up and has a blow-up game like he has done in the past, and some weeks he likes what the hell happened, and and you don't want to put all your eggs if as a number one wide receiver, that's what you don't want to do.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Um, so that's where you kind of have to be careful with him.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, I totally hear you in 2024.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: He was also the wide receiver five on the season, and he played the whole season.
- 25:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, he dominated target cherry at 158, 100 receptions, nine TDs.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Like to me, this guy, I mean it's him and Bijan, right?
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: And a sprinkle of pits, and you know, at the end of the day, regardless of whatever quarterback throws to him, like his efficiency and opportunity is elite, and that's why I rank him elite.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: I am curious, Tip.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: You said you have him at wide receiver 11.
- 26:02SPEAKER_01: Hmm, yeah, who are the people that's what's the can you can you list like 10, 9, 8, and 7 then?
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: Sure, yeah.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: So I have Chris Olave 10, George Pickens 9, Nico Collins eight, and Rasheed Rice seven.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Ooh, all right.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: Did you say seven?
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: And I have Zay Fla uh Rishi Rice.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: Okay, okay.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: Okay, we'll we'll talk about it.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: We're we're gonna talk about it.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: We're gonna talk about it.
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: Well, you one of the names you mentioned was Nico Collins.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: I like this guy, he's got a cool name.
- 26:34SPEAKER_01: Um wide receiver name.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, definitely a wide receiver name.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: Uh, and we we seem to have him pretty close.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: Uh, we're all basically in agreement on Nico Collins.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: Um, Natter, why do you think that is?
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: I mean, you have to think of the talent around him and his talent specifically.
- 26:54SPEAKER_04: He's a guy that even in a struggling offensive line, even a struggling quarterback, even a struggling team last year on the offensive side, he still was just dominating man coverage, dominating soft spots for zone defense.
- 27:08SPEAKER_04: He just is a overall elite wide receiver.
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: He is talent-wise, significantly better than somebody like Drake London, in my opinion, Chris uh Olave, Rasheed Rice, say Flowers, so on and so forth.
- 27:21SPEAKER_04: It's just the only thing that stops him from being a top five to even like a top three wide receiver is the the can uh the quarterback CJ Stroud elevate himself back to that rookie year status, considering every single year he's kind of been just declining a little bit in an awkward fashion.
- 27:39SPEAKER_04: And if he's able to stabilize himself and just be slightly average to above average, then Chris Olave, he might honestly inch towards the wide receiver one status.
- 27:50SPEAKER_04: And I don't think that's a hot take at that point.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: I think when it comes to him, his ability and the offense that he currently runs, especially when somebody like Tank Dell still isn't gonna see the field.
- 27:59SPEAKER_04: Their options at wide receiver two are inadequate, making it so he is forced to kind of have a bulk load of the offense.
- 28:07SPEAKER_04: The running backs, in my opinion, David Montgomery below average.
- 28:11SPEAKER_04: He's still going to be somebody that you don't necessarily want in your redraft drafts, making it so like what else are you gonna do?
- 28:18SPEAKER_04: Force it to Nico Collins, and he's gonna have a huge target share.
- 28:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, my biggest thing with Nico is like kind of game flow.
- 28:30SPEAKER_01: You know, they have an elite defense.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: I think arguably we can safely say it's a top five, let's call it defense.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: Um, some might argue top three or one, but you know, they brought in Montgomery for a reason.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: You know, I believe they want him to be a Balkout back.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm not gonna sit here and say he's going to be Montgomery, that is gonna be the most efficient running back of all time, you know, but I think he's going to get, you know, a lot of touches.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: They're gonna play a very conservative offense.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: And with Nico, it's not a matter of talent.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: It to me, it's more so a matter of QB play.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: You know, Nico's finished inside the top 10 at the wide receiver position in two of the last three years, and the year that he didn't, he only played in 12 games.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: He was seventh amongst wide receivers in red zone targets, ninth in air yards, and seventh in the NFL in yards per reception, and ninth in fantasy points per game at 15.1.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: So he is really kind of that intermediate deep guy versus, you know, like a heavy target hog, you know, that's gonna be seeing, you know, Jamar Puka type of targets where it's like 150 or 160, you know, it's gonna be sitting more around like 120, you know.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: Hopefully it ramps up a little bit this year.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: But his efficiency metrics were also great.
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, ninth and explosive rating, 11th in yards per out run.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: You know, for him, it's it's all about just getting the opportunities and getting some better QB play out of CJ Stroud this year.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Nico is no doubt the alpha on the team, and he should capitalize on more opportunities this year.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: I think Stroud is gonna not necessarily bounce back in a big way, but I think he's gonna play a lot better this year with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder, enough so that Nico um remains in the top 10 at the position.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: I have him ranked as my wide receiver nine, uh, right behind AJ Brown and right before Rice Olave and my plant my flag player of the year, Devontae Smith.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think if you start your team running back, running back, and or running back and then get somebody like Nico Collins um as your wide receiver one and then put another running back in there.
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: So if you have two running backs with Nico Collins, that is a solid, solid, solid start to your uh fantasy drafts.
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: And I think that you're right.
- 30:50SPEAKER_02: I think there is a a resurgence this year uh for CJ Stroud.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: I think that he has a better year.
- 30:56SPEAKER_02: Look, I think we were chasing what we saw his rookie season, obviously in year two.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: I don't think we're ever gonna really get that from him.
- 31:03SPEAKER_02: Um, more of a game manager, more of you know, gonna hand the ball off, let the defense do what the defense does.
- 31:08SPEAKER_02: And um also every once in a while, Nico Collins will just take you know take over a game.
- 31:14SPEAKER_02: But the thing is, he had seven games last year where he had uh under 60 yards, uh uh 60 yards receiving.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: So that you know that's gotta they he's gotta help with the consistency a little bit.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: That that's the only thing I think we see, and that's gonna come from CJ Stroud uh playing a little bit better too.
- 31:32SPEAKER_02: So hopefully they can connect, they can link up this year uh a little bit better.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: I think they will.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: Um, so I'm I'm buying in on it.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a lot of those games you refer to, tip, like were the games where he was getting like three to five targets a game, and it was odd.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: And you know, I think you know, I'd have to, you know, maybe go back to the specific games and the game script of those games, but that kind of ties into you know a situation where it's like they are a very conservative team with a really good defense, um, and they'll lean on that because of Stroud's inefficiencies.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: And to your point, I don't think he's gonna come back to rookie year, but you know, hopefully it's more serviceable, and yeah, Nico's the clear guy in the room.
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Um, but I you make a lot of valid points for sure.
- 32:21SPEAKER_04: Now, that being said, if I have the option between the two, I'm taking AJ Brown.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Considering I have him one spot ahead of Nico, I concur.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: There you go, tip.
- 32:32SPEAKER_04: I know tip disagree.
- 32:33SPEAKER_02: I'm still doing Nico.
- 32:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm still doing Nico.
- 32:36SPEAKER_04: I mean, I can't I can't knock on it, I don't think that's a bad option.
- 32:39SPEAKER_04: I just think AJ Brown is just going to absolutely decimate defenses this year.
- 32:45SPEAKER_04: But speaking of decimations, uh Rashid Rice.
- 32:50SPEAKER_04: We brought him up a few times, yeah.
- 32:52SPEAKER_04: We we talked about him a few times.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: Right now, I currently have him as uh wide receiver 10.
- 32:57SPEAKER_04: And honestly, I kind of wanted to put him higher.
- 32:59SPEAKER_04: It's just his uh potential.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: I don't think he's actually getting suspended.
- 33:02SPEAKER_04: I think that's fake news at this point.
- 33:04SPEAKER_04: Uh but tip, you're high on the guy.
- 33:07SPEAKER_04: Talk to him.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: Why?
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, look, I I gotta talk to you guys about Rasheed Rice, man.
- 33:18SPEAKER_02: I I look Patrick Mahomes, first of all.
- 33:20SPEAKER_02: I I'm never gonna deny this guy um, you know, the red zone usage with uh Rasheed Rice last year, and this isn't a big number, but for a wide receiver, it is 21 red zone attempts.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: And you remember he missed the first six games of the season.
- 33:35SPEAKER_02: He didn't come on until week seven.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: Week seven, he had four red zone uh opportunities or touches and converted on two of them and got two touchdowns in week seven when his first week.
- 33:46SPEAKER_02: So this is something that they're gonna utilize.
- 33:48SPEAKER_02: Um, he he's gonna be utilizing the offense the same way.
- 33:51SPEAKER_02: He's a strong wide receiver.
- 33:53SPEAKER_02: I went back and looked at some of his film, man.
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: He's actually pretty slippery as well.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: Um, and not only that, man, he he he's he's a dynamic wide receiver.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: He can take over a game, he can do a lot of different things, but Patrick Mahomes likes to get him that ball, dump off that ball to him.
- 34:08SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, he he does those quick curl routes, and I just think that it's gonna happen again.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: I'm not worried about, yes, we you know, we played the police siren.
- 34:17SPEAKER_02: I think all of that might be behind him now.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: We got to see the maturity level thing has got me nervous.
- 34:22SPEAKER_02: I will say that.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: But other than that, man, it's like, yeah, you got to deal with the injury stuff.
- 34:28SPEAKER_02: Okay, whatever.
- 34:29SPEAKER_02: But I think the kid is is dynamic, and I think that they utilize him well enough.
- 34:33SPEAKER_02: And look, if Patrick Mahomes playing week one, I'm putting Rasheed Rice in my lineups.
- 34:39SPEAKER_02: I'm drafting him right now.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Uh, I'm feeling comfortable drafting him as a wide receiver one, and just see what happens.
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: I I really am with this.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: And and look, if if you if you want to do, if you want to do this, I don't recommend it, but if you want to do this, if you want to go ahead and get Rasheed Rice, and then later on down the road um in your drafts, get somebody like uh Xavier Worthy, who's been dropping in drafts for some reason, you get somebody like Xavier Worthy because now you're like, okay, I just want a piece of this offense.
- 35:10SPEAKER_02: Everybody always wants a piece of this offense.
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: Um, and rightfully so, it's a good offense to have a piece of.
- 35:16SPEAKER_02: Um you you could do that.
- 35:18SPEAKER_02: I again I wouldn't recommend it, um, but it's always you can handcuff other positions.
- 35:22SPEAKER_02: You can't just, it's not just running backs, you can handcuff other positions in fantasy football.
- 35:27SPEAKER_02: It's just you got to be strategic about doing it, and you don't want to draft, you don't want to waste a draft pick on somebody like Xavier Worthy or you know, another player that you think could emerge on that team.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: Um but look, I'm still gonna go with him.
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: I'm I like Rasheed Rice, man.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: It's it's it's it's it's his time to shine, and he's gonna play a full season.
- 35:47SPEAKER_04: I mean, they gotta throw the ball to somebody, right?
- 35:51SPEAKER_04: And it's not gonna be Mr.
- 35:53SPEAKER_04: Swift.
- 35:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Mr.
- 35:54SPEAKER_04: I mean, Mr.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: Swift is gonna have a big year this year.
- 35:56SPEAKER_04: I mean, we'll talk about him when you get to tight ends, he'll have a big year.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: Your favorite, he but he he's uh our boy rice is going to be an elite wide receiver one in this offense just because he has to be like they're gonna force just like Nico Collins, he has to be an elite impacting player on that offense because who else is going to do it?
- 36:15SPEAKER_04: And when if you have a quarterback like Mahomes playing, and it's not still assured that he's playing week one.
- 36:20SPEAKER_04: Now, if Justin Fields is playing week one, we got a problem, and uh Rashid Rice's rankings are going to significantly dive bomb right now.
- 36:29SPEAKER_04: I'm looking he has an ADP of 32, so that's probably late second round, early third, depending on how many players you have in that league.
- 36:36SPEAKER_04: And he's easily one of those players that is going to overperform his ADP because again, somebody's got to do it in that offense, and they're always gonna be a team with Mahomes and Andy Reid that have playoff aspirations.
- 36:50SPEAKER_04: You always gotta think like they have two really good matchups throughout the year because they play the Raiders twice, and those teams are easy 20 plus points because I mean it's just the Raiders, they're just such a bad team that you know they're gonna have a tremendous uh performance against those.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: Uh other than that, I mean I could potentially look elsewhere for better receivers.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: And and and look, James, James, James, James Tow, I love James.
- 37:18SPEAKER_02: You know, he is the schedule guy, he's the schedule guru.
- 37:21SPEAKER_02: I I don't like I I I'm not gonna sit here and say I don't look at schedules, but I'm more of a week by week guy.
- 37:27SPEAKER_02: I I really just I mean, these players are so good, they can take over at any moment.
- 37:33SPEAKER_02: I'm not concerned that Rasheed Rice is playing Denver twice because he's he's beat up on Denver before.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: And and and so like I I I I I understand that, but I don't let that dictate my draft strategy.
- 37:46SPEAKER_02: Like when I'm I I will look at it for uh specific type of drafts, like if I'm in a guillotine league or different types of leagues, but um man, if it's redraft, and I know that that's a player like Nader is saying that is going to be just fully in this offense from start to finish, you gotta go with that talent.
- 38:07SPEAKER_02: And again, it's it's Patrick Mahomes.
- 38:09SPEAKER_02: I know he's been more of a game manager of late, but man, they're getting back, they're getting back uh Eric Bienemy.
- 38:16SPEAKER_02: And I think that the last couple years they had Matt Nagy, and I don't you guys know how I feel about him.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: They're getting back Eric Bienemy.
- 38:24SPEAKER_02: I I wouldn't be surprised if this maybe not this, maybe not right away, because you got to worry about Patrick Mahomes getting healthy, fully healthy, but I wouldn't be surprised by the end of this season, they started to really make some noise on that offense, and then you know, of course, next year, but um, yeah, I I really like the offense.
- 38:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I mean we talked about it last week too.
- 38:44SPEAKER_01: They also got in extremely efficient running back in Kenneth Walker to now join the party to make that whole offense more efficient.
- 38:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm buying in, no doubt, to Rasheed Rice, and I am absolutely targeting him uh based on the upside because when he does play, he's a dog.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: He was fourth in targets per route run, first in red zone target share, seventh in red zone targets, eighth in design targets.
- 39:10SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, he's not getting the deep ball and the air yards, like he was 97th in a dot, but he averaged 18.8 points per game when he played and was a top 15 in yards per route run, first downs per out run, fifth in dominator rating.
- 39:26SPEAKER_01: Like you combine that with essentially all of the design targets and target share that he's getting, you know, he truly is the offense.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: The offensive passing game is going to go through him, and there's just no competition in my eyes.
- 39:42SPEAKER_01: There's a washed up Travis Kelsey.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm not a big Xavier worthy guy.
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: Like Rice to me has league winning upside, breakout type upside.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: But because of the off-the-field issues and some of the risk that does come with that, uh, yeah, I actually have him same as Natter.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: I guess Tip, I think you said you were around seven or eight, but I have him as my wide receiver 10 behind Nico, but ahead of Olave.
- 40:10SPEAKER_04: Olave's like another player that I don't think any of us really want.
- 40:17SPEAKER_04: Right?
- 40:18SPEAKER_04: No, I don't know.
- 40:19SPEAKER_02: I no, I like Olave.
- 40:21SPEAKER_02: I like I like that offense.
- 40:25SPEAKER_02: I think that offense is gonna take a big step forward this year.
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: I I really, really do.
- 40:29SPEAKER_02: And a lot of people have been saying it.
- 40:31SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, and I I really think that Kellen Moore is gonna get in in man, I I I think this offense will take another step.
- 40:39SPEAKER_02: And I like Olave a lot.
- 40:41SPEAKER_01: Olave was a target hog.
- 40:43SPEAKER_01: I mean, he was fifth in targets, ninth in target rate, first in deep targets and air yards.
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: Like, dude, he was getting peppered with targets, but it's because they didn't have anyone else.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: Like Juwan Johnson was their second option in the passing game, and you know, now they got Jordan Tyson in the mix, who, you know, I think he's an elite young wide receiver.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: So I think it's gonna really break down, you know, what does that target share look like with Tyson now in the picture?
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: Because Olave he thrived on opportunity, which turned into production.
- 41:17SPEAKER_01: He wasn't necessarily the most efficient wide receiver, but um, at the end of the day, you know, he does deserve our respect, and that's why I have him ranked at 11th, right behind Rasheed Rice and ahead of my plant my flag player of the year.
- 41:33SPEAKER_04: So right now, Chris Olave has an ADP of 26.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: Rasheed Rice has an ADP of 32, so you could technically get Rasheed Rice at a better cost, better value, I should say, and expect higher production.
- 41:47SPEAKER_04: I I personally I expect higher production out of him.
- 41:49SPEAKER_04: Kurs Olave, he kind of reminds me of like David Montgomery, where you don't really want him, but like if you really got to take him, okay, you'll take him and you know, be somewhat satisfied with him.
- 42:00SPEAKER_02: I think that tune's changing.
- 42:01SPEAKER_02: I think that tune's changing on the David Montgomery.
- 42:04SPEAKER_02: Now that they see what the Texans are doing, no, I think it is.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: I think I seriously think that the tune is changing.
- 42:10SPEAKER_02: I think he can be one of those guys that you know, as a wide as a running back, too, man, possibly even running back.
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: I I don't think you can do a three now, but running back two, yeah.
- 42:19SPEAKER_02: He I I think he can light it up, man.
- 42:21SPEAKER_02: Uh, I mean, I like him a lot.
- 42:23SPEAKER_02: But could you guys could you guys imagine this though?
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: Could you imagine having a team where where you get Saquon Barkley, Amarian Hampton, and Rasheed Rice as your first three picks?
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: Like, oh my god, like that's big dude.
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: If you get Saquon Bark, because Saquon Barkley's going around that one, two turn, and then I think he should be higher, but and then you get somebody like Amarion Hampton or or maybe even Ashton Genty, because I know people are getting him around that one-two turn as well, and then turning around and having your first wide receiver be Rasheed Rice.
- 42:56SPEAKER_01: I just don't know if Rasheed Rice is making it all the way back, yeah.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: After the first you don't think so.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 43:03SPEAKER_02: So you would have to this, I mean not for a second.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: How about this?
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: If he does, if you are drafting 10 through 12 and Rasheed Rice makes it back to you in the third round, you should be aesthetic.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm most consensus rankings I'm looking at, uh, he's going around 27, which would essentially be you know, like at the 2-3 turn.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: So that's where I'm saying, like, I don't see that being an option for anyone drafting at the back half of drafts, and I wouldn't reach on him, you know, at like 14th or 15th overall when you got you know other guys available.
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: So it would be more like Saquon Barkley or or Mario Hampton, and then Rasheed Rice, and then getting that running back.
- 43:51SPEAKER_02: Because I again I think in the first three rounds, you got to get two running backs.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: It it would be more like you get a Gibbs or Bichon, and then on the way back, maybe you get like a Nico and Or Rasheed and AJ Brown if he falls.
- 44:02SPEAKER_01: But um, anyways, let's we the show must go on, right?
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: So Natter, I was I haven't looked through your rankings as a whole, but I did quickly peek, and you have Tet McMillan ranked as a borderline wide receiver one.
- 44:22SPEAKER_01: And I know you're bit you're a big Mike Evans guy.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Where are you at right now with Tetaroa McMillan?
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Is he kind of like does he resemble Mike Evans to you in any capacity?
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: Like, is he kind of the thousand-yard king?
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: Like, talk to me a little bit about how you feel about Ted because I have him quite a bit lower than you do.
- 44:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it becomes a volume is king, size is okay.
- 44:48SPEAKER_04: That sounds bad.
- 44:49SPEAKER_04: Size is good.
- 44:49SPEAKER_04: Um, let me walk that back real set real fast.
- 44:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but it's it's one of those things where you sit there and the offense is set up for him to succeed.
- 45:04SPEAKER_04: You know, he has a quarterback that is oddly enough not afraid to sling it.
- 45:08SPEAKER_04: He has a offensive head coach that kind of uh mirrors what he wants to do on the offensive side and it matches Ted, making it so he is set up in a weaker division to be able to put up a thousand-yard season.
- 45:21SPEAKER_04: And he obviously physically is identical to Mike Evans, big bodied, a little bit slower, possession, able to really box out defenders on the deep ball, great hands, um, struggles to get open against main defense or create any real separation, making it so he has to utilize the offensive scheme into really developing those down the field passes.
- 45:42SPEAKER_04: And of course, making it so like okay, he's not a wide receiver one, but you would be very satisfied and ecstatic to sit there in I don't know what the fourth, fifth round to just kind of snag tap on Ted and add him to the wide receiver two slot of your roster.
- 45:59SPEAKER_04: Great moment.
- 46:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I like Ted a lot as a talent.
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: Like for me, it's just it's the situation.
- 46:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, Bryce Young, he's averaged 180.2 yards per game in his career.
- 46:16SPEAKER_01: Uh, and while I do expect, to your point, Tet to just absolutely dominate target share, I'm just not sure how quality those targets are going to be.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: Bryce Young was 24th in EPA, 33rd in yards per attempt, 21st in passing yards at 188.2.
- 46:34SPEAKER_01: Like he's not explosive.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: And the reason I have Ted as my wide receiver, right?
- 46:39SPEAKER_01: Wide receiver 19 is I would rather take guys like Waddle and Christian Watson, who we've talked about in past shows, who I'm feeling very confident about.
- 46:49SPEAKER_01: Um, in regards to Ted, I just think it's the situation.
- 46:54SPEAKER_03: Hmm.
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I mean, it's it is a weird situation.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: We gotta talk about Jalen Coker as well.
- 47:02SPEAKER_02: Um, I think that he's gonna get into the mix, they're gonna utilize him in the slot, and and he's a big receiver as well.
- 47:09SPEAKER_02: Um, then you got the Legget.
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: It could turn into the one of those situations where I think that you know, tech gets a thousand yards because what it was just a couple episodes now that we were talking about like it doesn't take a lot for you to get a thousand, what is it, like 60 yards and average?
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: So I think he'll get the thousand yards, but it's just gonna be like very splotchy.
- 47:28SPEAKER_02: Um, it's not gonna be consistent, it's gonna be one of those situations.
- 47:31SPEAKER_02: I have him ranked as number 17 because of some of those things.
- 47:35SPEAKER_02: Um, I just think that consistency is gonna be what we're searching for.
- 47:39SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, another player that we've been searching for, uh, Nico, is Terry McLaurin.
- 47:45SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know, we wanted him to have a good season last year after uh the 2024 season where Jaden Daniels was the rookie and uh they had a great season.
- 47:55SPEAKER_02: So are we gonna get a bounce back from Terry McLaurin?
- 47:58SPEAKER_02: Uh I mean you got other receivers like um Roma Dunze, Marvin Harrison Jr., Mike Evans, Mike Evans, uh Lad McConkey going all in that same grouping.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: Um what are your thoughts on Terry McLaurin?
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm a firm believer in Terry McLaurin this year, and it solely revolves around Jaden Daniels uh in his health.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: Uh, we talked about uh McLaurin a few episodes ago, um, so I won't go too deep into it, but you know, he's really somebody that, you know, around that same time frame of Waddell and Evans, like guys that I'm targeting.
- 48:34SPEAKER_01: Currently, I have McLaurin ranked as my uh 21st wide receiver off the board, and that is right behind T.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: Higgins at 20 and right ahead of Ladd McConkey at 22, Mike Evans at 23, and Luther Burden at 24.
- 48:53SPEAKER_02: Okay, now those out of those players that we just talked about, could any of them you think finish inside the top 15?
- 49:00SPEAKER_02: Roma Dunze, Marvin Harrison, Mike Evans, Lad McConkey, or Terry McClure?
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: Top 15?
- 49:07SPEAKER_01: Well, I mean, Mike Evans could if he has a Devontae Adams type season where you know he has 13, 14 touchdowns, even if it is only say 900 yards.
- 49:17SPEAKER_01: Um, Mike Evans, he's scored 11 plus touchdowns uh six times in his career.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: Um, but between the two, I do believe that when you combine TD upside, which you know McLaurin clearly had um in the 2024 season with JD5, combined with being the alpha in the room and being the target share hog.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, they still haven't even really brought in a wide receiver two, which is why a lot of people are loving on Chig right now.
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm gonna go with McLaurin one, Evans two, and I don't think any of those other guys really have much of a shot at top 15, to be honest.
- 50:03SPEAKER_02: That was a heartbreaking song.
- 50:05SPEAKER_02: And speaking of breaking hearts, both of you guys are heartbreakers.
- 50:08SPEAKER_02: Uh Nico something to ask that.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: Literally, I mean why are you?
- 50:13SPEAKER_02: Wait, wait, wait, so hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: Hold on, hold on.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: So, like, we're talking about breaking hearts here.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: Like last year it was obviously Brian Thomas Jr., it was obviously Ladd McConkey.
- 50:27SPEAKER_01: Heck, I had a league where I drafted both of them, and safe to say, I was like it was my worst league by far.
- 50:35SPEAKER_01: Um who's gonna disappoint us in 2026?
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: And you know, how quickly into the season do you think you know fantasy managers will regret drafting them?
- 50:45SPEAKER_01: We're gonna I'm gonna list three DK Metcalf, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 50:52SPEAKER_01: Again, Chris Godwin.
- 50:55SPEAKER_04: The second you hit draft immediately.
- 51:01SPEAKER_04: I don't think there's any moment of where you won't regret it.
- 51:07SPEAKER_04: Maybe Brian Thomas Jr.
- 51:08SPEAKER_04: is somebody you won't sit there and say, I okay, maybe he has potential to do something because he does in that offense.
- 51:14SPEAKER_04: He does have the potential to to really rebound.
- 51:16SPEAKER_04: Now, DK Metcalf and Chris Godwin, no, no potential, and it it'll just an instant donut whenever you put them in your lineup, especially DK.
- 51:26SPEAKER_04: DK will be the biggest disappointment of the year, and non-injury disappointment, he will be the biggest one.
- 51:34SPEAKER_04: His career is moving over exactly exactly like I mean, uh you could potentially make a case for Godwin, but even then, he's just not uh a person that you want to take the risk on.
- 51:45SPEAKER_04: He's just somebody you want to let somebody else take the risk on.
- 51:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and so you're saying I have to agree, but you're right.
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: No, no, he's saying DK, he's saying is the biggest one.
- 51:55SPEAKER_01: Um, I would be very fond of either of the three, so yeah, not fond of either of them.
- 52:00SPEAKER_04: I would be okay with Brian Thomas Jr., but sure if I could avoid it, I will.
- 52:05SPEAKER_02: I think if you get the dip on your field, oh go ahead.
- 52:10SPEAKER_01: I'm willing to buy the dip on Brian Thomas Jr., you know, similar to guys like Rome, Adunze, and Marvin Harrison.
- 52:17SPEAKER_01: Like obviously lots of target competition, but I'm not ready to give up on him after what he proved that he can do in his rookie season, where he went for almost 1,300 yards and 10 TDs.
- 52:28SPEAKER_01: Godwin, you know, maybe a safe PPR floor.
- 52:32SPEAKER_01: Uh, but DK, I'm with you.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Nah, I'm out on that dude.
- 52:35SPEAKER_01: DK will break your heart.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: I think Pittman is the guy, uh, Michael Pittman, that is, is the guy to have there as kind of like your short intermediate dominator that Kenneth Gainwell was last year, but now with Tampa Bay.
- 52:49SPEAKER_01: I don't know, tip, what do you think?
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: Who's yeah?
- 52:52SPEAKER_02: No, I'd say if you're pissed off, if you get a pissed off uh Baker Mayfield, then you are um you're you're you're Chris Godwin can do some work.
- 53:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, he can have those PPR weeks.
- 53:03SPEAKER_02: You know, you're not gonna get a lot of touchdowns, you're not gonna get, but you're gonna get a lot of catches and you're gonna get a lot of yards.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: Uh so that that'll be good.
- 53:09SPEAKER_02: Brian Thomas Jr., I think you guys are in line um on it.
- 53:12SPEAKER_02: I think you guys are in line with uh DK Metcalf as well.
- 53:15SPEAKER_02: I think it was you, Natter, who even talked about um the reason DK Metcalf struggles so much is because Aaron Rodgers can't throw the ball deep like he could back in the day.
- 53:26SPEAKER_02: And if I'm not mistaken, that's something that kind of helped or hurt him, um, is what you were talking about.
- 53:31SPEAKER_02: And then they it Michael Pittman is one of those guys who fits in the wheelhouse of where Aaron Rodgers feels comfortable throwing um accurately.
- 53:39SPEAKER_02: And it's so I I think you guys are all in line.
- 53:41SPEAKER_02: I think DK Metcalf is the biggest um heartbreaker here for sure.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: You guys watch uh quarterback on Netflix?
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yet no, like if you watch the Risa one, sorry.
- 53:53SPEAKER_02: No, yeah, I've been watching it.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: All right, Baker's on so much better than last year.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, I don't even remember who was on last year, but I feel that's yeah, don't go waste your time.
- 54:03SPEAKER_01: Baker, uh, yeah.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, they're Baker's one of the uh four quarterbacks that they talk about.
- 54:08SPEAKER_01: And I mean, that dude, he was a detriment to his team because he was too tough and he was trying to play through too much when he probably should have just taken like a week or two off and then come back healthier in two weeks.
- 54:24SPEAKER_01: And we all saw what happened with the Buccaneers.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: Um, he even even his wife was like, That's being Baker.
- 54:30SPEAKER_02: So, I mean, that's right, right.
- 54:32SPEAKER_02: That's what he's gonna do.
- 54:34SPEAKER_02: Um, but you know, I love that.
- 54:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I love that they pick Baker Mayfield.
- 54:38SPEAKER_02: Man, he's just he's just got that charisma, dude.
- 54:40SPEAKER_02: He's got that it, man.
- 54:41SPEAKER_02: And I and oh man, I I yeah, no, that's a good show.
- 54:44SPEAKER_02: You guys should definitely check it out.
- 54:46SPEAKER_02: And another thing that we should also take a look at and check out is top five top 15 wide receivers who could finish outside the top 30.
- 54:54SPEAKER_02: Um, so let's start.
- 54:55SPEAKER_02: This is a part where we're gonna be a little negative, but we're gonna talk about some of these players that are currently inside your top 15 who could finish outside your top 30.
- 55:04SPEAKER_02: Not because you hate them, not because of injury, but because of his downside is larger than people are realizing.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: So, Nico, we're gonna start with you.
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: Oh man, that is so tough.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: Uh, injuries and off-the-field issues aside, uh, Koughkoff for She Rice, play the sirens.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: Um, and because I think he's a bit overvalued in consensus rankings, I'm actually gonna go with George Pickens.
- 55:32SPEAKER_01: Now, just because he is coming off, he's coming off a career year, he finished as the wide receiver five when in his first three seasons in the NFL, albeit with the Steelers, he finished 37, wide receiver 37, wide receiver 26, and wide receiver 42.
- 55:48SPEAKER_01: Now, combine that with, in my opinion, a CD legacy bounce back season, if you will.
- 55:55SPEAKER_01: And similar to what I was talking about earlier with the Bengals, and when we were talking about Jamar Chase, is the Cowboys improved their defense uh fairly significantly.
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: You know, they brought in Jalen Thompson, D Winters, Rashawn Gary, and they drafted uh Caleb Downs, and they may not find themselves in as many projected shootouts.
- 56:16SPEAKER_01: They also re-signed Javante Williams, so like he's one guy that you know, if he goes back to his 100-ish target pace compared to the 137 that he had last year since the Cowboys were in a shootout essentially every single week.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: For me, I'm personally lower on him.
- 56:39SPEAKER_01: Um, I have him as my wide receiver 13.
- 56:42SPEAKER_01: Um, now do I see this happening where he falls out of the top 30?
- 56:48SPEAKER_01: No, but if I had to pick, I'm gonna roll with George Pickens coming off Matter.
- 56:55SPEAKER_02: Matter, what about you?
- 56:56SPEAKER_04: Uh I'm gonna try to take injury out of the equation, and I'm going Justin Jefferson solely not because of him, of course, solely just around the system of the the potential idea of which quarterback is gonna be taking the reigns.
- 57:09SPEAKER_04: Like, even if Kyler Murray is the quarterback, I'm still not that high on Justin Jefferson, even if, of course, uh our boy nine is the quarterback, I'm even unfortunately less on on Justin Jefferson.
- 57:21SPEAKER_04: The the risk to reward factor of where he's being drafted just isn't worth it.
- 57:26SPEAKER_04: It's like, okay, what's his potential compared to what he will he probably do?
- 57:31SPEAKER_04: And it's it's not reasonable or fathomable for you to sit there and say, okay, I'm comfortable taking Justin Jefferson in the first round of my fantasy draft, to sit there and wonder, okay, who's going to be the quarterback?
- 57:43SPEAKER_04: How well is the quarterback going to play?
- 57:45SPEAKER_04: And are they going to be able to scheme him open knowing they're most likely going to double team him a whole uh or not maybe not even a majority of the game, the whole game, making it so there's a pretty good chance that he finishes out of the top 15 or top 30?
- 58:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, I I'm not either one of them.
- 58:05SPEAKER_02: I there's question marks, and there's another question mark for uh Devonta Smith for me.
- 58:11SPEAKER_02: Um, I know Nico has planted his flag on this guy.
- 58:15SPEAKER_02: I I like Devonta Smith.
- 58:17SPEAKER_02: It's just I have him ranked as 15 because I just don't know what to do with him.
- 58:21SPEAKER_02: I the consistency situation, I know he is the guy now, supposedly, but you got Mikhail Lemon, you got Saquon Barkley, who I think is gonna catch the ball a ton in this offense.
- 58:33SPEAKER_02: Uh you've got Dontavian Wicks, excuse me, and then you also have Dallas Goddard as well.
- 58:40SPEAKER_02: So like you've got a situation where they don't throw the ball, or or in the last few seasons, they haven't thrown the ball a ton.
- 58:47SPEAKER_02: They've utilized the their offensive line, they utilize their run game.
- 58:50SPEAKER_02: I think they're gonna throw a little bit more, obviously.
- 58:52SPEAKER_02: With Sean Mannion, he's gonna get this offense going, but it's gonna take a little bit of time, and I think that that also takes a little bit of time for skinny Batman, Devonta Smith.
- 59:01SPEAKER_02: So that that's one of the reasons why I'm just kind of like, I'm not gonna I I'm gonna respect him because he's got a lot going for him, but I'm also gonna put him right in the middle because man, it can go down really, really fast, and we could be looking for that consistency.
- 59:15SPEAKER_02: Um, so uh Natter, you know what?
- 59:20SPEAKER_02: Really quick, really quick.
- 59:21SPEAKER_02: Go ahead, go ahead.
- 59:22SPEAKER_01: On on X, I saw earlier today, Justin Jefferson on who the best cornerback that he's gone against.
- 59:28SPEAKER_01: He said, if I had somebody that really played me true man-to-man all game, then I can answer that question.
- 59:34SPEAKER_01: But I haven't had a true one-on-one game for a long time now.
- 59:38SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 59:39SPEAKER_04: That that only I feel like uh solidifies my take that he just doesn't get single coverage a lot.
- 59:48SPEAKER_04: He'll he's always in a bracket, two-man system.
- 59:52SPEAKER_04: It makes it difficult for him, and especially the quarterback, uh, to fit in uh precision, precise passes that you're gonna sit there and be like, okay, I can beat double coverage.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_04: Kyler Murray ain't that guy.
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_04: Uh let me tell you, nine, he's I think he's more of that guy than Kyler Murray.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_04: Let's just put it that way.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_04: It's just tough like uh it's tough.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_04: It's not I'm not dogging um Justin Jefferson because I think when it comes route for route, he is the best wide receiver in the league.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_04: It's just okay.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_04: Hey, the situation around him isn't helping him out.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I I I yeah, it that's another tough one, too, for me.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_02: That's another one too.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_02: It it is tough.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_02: Um, so we're gonna close out the show, Natter.
