- 0:30Speaker 3: Hey, everybody, welcome to Conspiracy the Show.
- 0:34Speaker 4: I'm Adam Todd Brown. Who are you?
- 0:36Speaker 2: I'm physit to Sonny.
- 0:37Speaker 4: We are your goddamn hosts.
- 0:39Speaker 2: That's right.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Probably literally God damned after this episode.
- 0:43Speaker 2: You know, it depends who you call God or what
- 0:46Speaker 2: you call God.
- 0:46Speaker 5: Yeah, that's a good point. By but yeah, some one
- 0:49Speaker 5: by God is gonna damn us.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Maybe by this the subjects of today's episode, well maybe yeah,
- 0:54Speaker 2: maybe they're that God frown upon us.
- 0:57Speaker 4: This is a weird one. It's a very weird episode.
- 0:59Speaker 2: When you texted me this shit last night, I man,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I wasn't ready.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I sprung this on you very late. It took me
- 1:07Speaker 3: a while because I know we still have to do
- 1:09Speaker 3: part two of that Finders episode. But god damn it,
- 1:12Speaker 3: it's almost Christmas. I don't have them. I'm just not
- 1:16Speaker 3: in the headspace for that right now. Maybe in twenty
- 1:19Speaker 3: twenty we'll get back to talking about global sex trafficking rings.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a lot. It was a lot, you know.
- 1:24Speaker 2: I think we can wait for the next installment.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and then so look Cliffhanger, Yeah, and this was.
- 1:30Speaker 2: You were switching it up a lot, like I don't
- 1:32Speaker 2: think I've talked about Trump at all on here.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Yeah, and I was.
- 1:36Speaker 5: I was not even fully about him. It's not really
- 1:39Speaker 5: just a sort of a figure him. Yeah, he's the
- 1:42Speaker 5: figure at the center of it. And I was trying
- 1:46Speaker 5: to find something Christmas related. But we did the War
- 1:48Speaker 5: on Christmas last year at Christmas, so we couldn't really
- 1:52Speaker 5: do that again.
- 1:53Speaker 4: I found a.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Conspiracy theory from a guy who says Christianity as a
- 1:58Speaker 3: whole was made up to keep like, uh, I think
- 2:04Speaker 3: Roman slaves in check. But that seemed a little too
- 2:10Speaker 3: like that's then it felt like I was participating in
- 2:12Speaker 3: the War on Christmas, Like, yeah, I could do that
- 2:15Speaker 3: episode anytime. Why would I do it at Christmas?
- 2:18Speaker 2: What does Christmas have to do with the birth of
- 2:19Speaker 2: Christ Christmas today?
- 2:21Speaker 4: That's that's in December.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And also Christianity wasn't that sort of filtered heavily through
- 2:28Speaker 2: the Romans?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's one of the theories, is that it's
- 2:33Speaker 3: actually theory.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I thought that was that's his history.
- 2:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean to what extent was it filtered? Though?
- 2:39Speaker 3: Because there's this there's a theory out there that Christianity
- 2:43Speaker 3: is just not real, Like the entire story of Jesus
- 2:47Speaker 3: is plagiarized from other texts.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Well, I'll say this much, Jesus seems dope if he
- 2:51Speaker 2: was real, dope a character, still dope, but like all
- 2:56Speaker 2: this shit. You know, I'm not a fan of dogma.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not a big organized religion guy.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Well yeah, the whole like you have to do this
- 3:05Speaker 2: or you're it's the whole wrong or right? I think
- 3:07Speaker 2: black or white these you know, that doesn't sit well
- 3:11Speaker 2: with me personally, but you know, whoever it does, what
- 3:14Speaker 2: do you My thing has always killed people.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Then that there are so.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Many groups out there who think, well, our way is
- 3:20Speaker 3: the right way, and if you don't do what we're doing,
- 3:23Speaker 3: you're all going to Hell or whatever happens to you after.
- 3:26Speaker 3: And it, yeah, it's just it just makes it like
- 3:28Speaker 3: that can't be right, Like that can't logically how could it?
- 3:31Speaker 4: That can't possibly be right.
- 3:33Speaker 3: So I've fought, like since since I was a kid,
- 3:35Speaker 3: I've kind of had that thought about organized religion likewise,
- 3:39Speaker 3: and I like, I don't necessarily.
- 3:41Speaker 2: It was like that, you know what the thing is
- 3:43Speaker 2: is like that was my introduction to like sort of
- 3:48Speaker 2: I guess, I don't want to say spirituality, but like
- 3:50Speaker 2: that sort of thing, like so that was crazy to have,
- 3:52Speaker 2: Like that is your first window to that.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Yeah, and it. I don't like, I don't necessarily like,
- 3:58Speaker 3: I'm not an atheist. I don't like necessarily believe there's
- 4:02Speaker 3: no God.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I just I don't. I don't know.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I like I like to think of God as a concept. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 2: I'm an operating system if nothing else.
- 4:10Speaker 3: God exists as a concept like whether a person, like
- 4:14Speaker 3: whether Ricky Gervais believes it or not, like so many
- 4:17Speaker 3: other people do.
- 4:19Speaker 4: And in that way, like God.
- 4:21Speaker 3: At least exists to those people and as a force
- 4:23Speaker 3: in the world that you have to reckon with.
- 4:25Speaker 2: But yeah, also I guess yes, so maybe a better
- 4:28Speaker 2: term would be sort of like force versus like because
- 4:32Speaker 2: the personification, I think is where, you know, things get
- 4:36Speaker 2: a little muddled.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Oh yeah, for sure, you know. I think.
- 4:40Speaker 2: I like to think, like, Okay, we're all God playing
- 4:43Speaker 2: like you're playing Adam and I'm playing Pizza right until
- 4:46Speaker 2: we're done.
- 4:47Speaker 4: We're going to destroy Mars someday.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I mean, I don't really sky War Mike, I tried
- 4:52Speaker 2: to not Oh.
- 4:53Speaker 4: I'm a sky god. I'm sorry.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Calm oh, I'm a yeah, I'm a I'm a peaceful
- 4:58Speaker 2: I'm a peaceful god.
- 5:00Speaker 4: I guess I'm winning that war.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Huh yeah, yeah, you know, I'm just a path the
- 5:03Speaker 2: least resistant. You don't even like, do we have to fight?
- 5:06Speaker 2: Can we talk?
- 5:08Speaker 3: Just go around, take the left, Leane, go your bedroom.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So we're all, God, we're talking about the Trump prophecy.
- 5:20Speaker 3: That's what I somehow landed on for a Christmas esque topic.
- 5:25Speaker 3: And this is one of those things that seems kind
- 5:28Speaker 3: of silly and lighthearted, but it's really not like this
- 5:31Speaker 3: is Oh it was heavy. It's heavy, and it's like
- 5:36Speaker 3: it actually happened. It's like it's a silly movie you
- 5:39Speaker 3: can watch on Amazon. But also the things depicted in
- 5:44Speaker 3: the movie in some sense did occur, and uh it
- 5:48Speaker 3: it feels it has a lot of the same elements
- 5:51Speaker 3: as the flat Earth conspiracy to me, in that once
- 5:55Speaker 3: you believe the flat Earth conspiracy, there's so many other
- 5:59Speaker 3: Like one of the underlying beliefs of flat Earthers is
- 6:03Speaker 3: that all of history and science is basically a lie.
- 6:07Speaker 3: So you can't come back at them with scientific evidence
- 6:11Speaker 3: proving the Earth is round. Yeah, they'll just go, well,
- 6:16Speaker 3: that's yeah, that's science lying to us. And this does
- 6:19Speaker 3: the same thing because this is a movie based on
- 6:23Speaker 3: actual events that kind of inspired the theory that Trump
- 6:29Speaker 3: is ordained by God to be our president right now.
- 6:35Speaker 3: And that is such a dangerous belief for people in
- 6:42Speaker 3: at least the American political system to have, because you're
- 6:46Speaker 3: not like once a leader's base believes that that this
- 6:51Speaker 3: is a mission from God and.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Like a divine interception and the specific motive, I mean,
- 6:58Speaker 2: like it happened, so it's like obvious, you know, it
- 7:01Speaker 2: was right allowed to happen, or it was meant to
- 7:04Speaker 2: be because it is. But you know, as far as God,
- 7:08Speaker 2: you know, having the specific agenda right in favor of
- 7:13Speaker 2: a few privileged people is ridiculous.
- 7:16Speaker 4: It's yeah, it's it's ridiculous.
- 7:18Speaker 3: And it also eliminates any possibility that at least that
- 7:23Speaker 3: segment of Trump's base is ever going to question anything
- 7:27Speaker 3: he does.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very hard to reach people right when they
- 7:31Speaker 2: have that programming, because that's what it is.
- 7:33Speaker 4: It's it's absolutely programming.
- 7:35Speaker 2: So it's like it would how could you you know,
- 7:38Speaker 2: how could you connect and reason there?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Right?
- 7:40Speaker 2: How could could you? There'd be a difficulty finding common
- 7:43Speaker 2: ground because everything, you know, it's God's plan.
- 7:46Speaker 3: So if God's do if if if it happened in
- 7:49Speaker 3: the course of God's ordained plan for the United States.
- 7:54Speaker 3: So what like that when Trump says I could shoot
- 7:57Speaker 3: someone on Fifth Avenue and my followers wouldn't give up
- 8:01Speaker 3: on me, that's what he means.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Like they know.
- 8:04Speaker 3: That, Like, especially people who deal with political campaigns, and
- 8:10Speaker 3: especially political campaigns that appeal to evangelical types, they know that.
- 8:16Speaker 3: They know that once they have a leader in their mind,
- 8:20Speaker 3: like if you can get it in their heads that
- 8:22Speaker 3: God is the one who wants him to be president,
- 8:26Speaker 3: nothing else matters.
- 8:26Speaker 2: That's the bedrock of their faith and foundation of how
- 8:29Speaker 2: they operate. So it's just like you questioning that is
- 8:32Speaker 2: just like would be shattering. For whatever reason they fell
- 8:34Speaker 2: into that, and it's and it feels good to them, right,
- 8:37Speaker 2: it feels good. And yeah, I guess that is. That's
- 8:42Speaker 2: that's so not where I am. It's it's it's difficult
- 8:49Speaker 2: knowing just not having sort of any common ground, yeah, aside,
- 8:54Speaker 2: you know, aside from basic human stuff, but like you know,
- 8:56Speaker 2: in society.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Right, yeah, yeah, this was wild. So let's talk about
- 9:03Speaker 3: the actual story. Mark Taylor, which is also his name
- 9:07Speaker 3: in the movie. The movie is called The Trump Prophecy.
- 9:09Speaker 3: It's on Amazon thing biopick or is a biopic. Yeah,
- 9:13Speaker 3: it's by I think biopic.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Biopic group of doctors. It sounds like something like a procedure.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Uh.
- 9:22Speaker 3: And it's based on a guy named Mark Taylor who
- 9:26Speaker 3: is a retired Orlando based firefighter, which meaningless detail. That's
- 9:32Speaker 3: the kind of thing that people throw in so you
- 9:36Speaker 3: hear it and go, oh, well, he must be a
- 9:37Speaker 3: good dude. He's a firefighter. Fuck that, it's just a job. Yeah,
- 9:41Speaker 3: he's a firefighter. Firefighters can have nervous breakdowns also, which
- 9:46Speaker 3: I think is clearly what happened to Ushan. Yeah, he's
- 9:50Speaker 3: just a person.
- 9:51Speaker 2: And yeah, it's like there's you know, they're not Yeah,
- 9:54Speaker 2: I think maybe. So you think they're sort.
- 9:55Speaker 6: Of using that as a kind of like as a pitch, Yeah,
- 10:01Speaker 6: sort of like so marketing, like this guy's character is
- 10:05Speaker 6: so because there is the As we get into this,
- 10:09Speaker 6: it becomes pretty clear that either this guy has some
- 10:11Speaker 6: sort of mental illness or he's just a scam artist.
- 10:15Speaker 3: And at this point in history, I'm not sure which
- 10:19Speaker 3: it is, but in the movie they depict it as
- 10:21Speaker 3: sort of a mental illness, but not really what.
- 10:25Speaker 2: He does have mental health issueses PTSD.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Yeah, from we'll talk about it.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I can't. Let let's dig in.
- 10:34Speaker 3: But what he claims, and this is in real life.
- 10:38Speaker 3: He claims this in twenty eleven, he was watching a
- 10:42Speaker 3: TV interview with Donald Trump, and during that interview, he
- 10:45Speaker 3: hears the voice of God tell him you're hearing the
- 10:49Speaker 3: voice of president, not even of a president, You're hearing
- 10:54Speaker 3: the voice of president.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Okay, there was not even an article before it.
- 10:58Speaker 4: No, no, so gives a point. Yeah, God not English.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Isn't God's first language?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean why would it be?
- 11:06Speaker 3: Yeah, it's historically, it doesn't seem like that would track
- 11:09Speaker 3: that it would be.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Why would there even need to be language?
- 11:12Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, Maybe that Maybe that's God. He knows we
- 11:16Speaker 3: don't even need that fucking a there, Like he's just
- 11:19Speaker 3: that that much more enlightened than us. And he claims that, Yeah,
- 11:25Speaker 3: God said, you're hearing the voice of president.
- 11:27Speaker 2: And Trump was on the TV while he was watching.
- 11:30Speaker 3: And Trump was on the TV. So he he's like, shit,
- 11:34Speaker 3: I'm a prophet because Trump was like toying with the
- 11:37Speaker 3: idea of running for office in twenty twelve.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Also, yeah, so this was actually yeah, this is twenty eleven,
- 11:43Speaker 2: right when he was watching TV and got you know,
- 11:47Speaker 2: on his download from the power greater than him.
- 11:51Speaker 3: And God was wrong at least in that election, because
- 11:54Speaker 3: time is Trump didn't.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, obviously twenty twelve.
- 12:00Speaker 3: It would be funny if like after the twenty twelve
- 12:02Speaker 3: election he gets another message from God that's like, oh listen,
- 12:06Speaker 3: I'm not perfect. Okay, it's gonna happen, But this guy
- 12:10Speaker 3: is getting mental health treatment.
- 12:12Speaker 4: I believe he's seeing a doctor.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's PTSD from prior to his last rescue
- 12:22Speaker 2: what is that what they call him? Rescue mission? A
- 12:25Speaker 2: child died in a fire. I think it was a
- 12:26Speaker 2: crack house, right, he yeah, he was.
- 12:31Speaker 4: He was.
- 12:32Speaker 3: He was all torn up over it, even though in
- 12:34Speaker 3: the movie at one point he's like, I've seen everything
- 12:36Speaker 3: on my job, and it's like the death of one
- 12:38Speaker 3: kid fucked you up this bad? Then, Yeah, that's that's
- 12:42Speaker 3: included in everything. Yeah, so you know you implies you've
- 12:45Speaker 3: seen like dead little girls, dead old women, dead old men,
- 12:49Speaker 3: dead pets.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I just wonder, how is you know that was
- 12:52Speaker 2: the straw that you know, yeah, broke the proverbial camel's back.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Why are there so many deaths in his fires? Also
- 12:59Speaker 3: get this fire faster Mark Taylor? Maybe that was the problem.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Geez uh damn firefighter prophet so well by now. But yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 2: I mean that's horrible. But yeah, so he had PTSD.
- 13:11Speaker 2: He was seeing a doctor for it. I think maybe
- 13:14Speaker 2: he was medicated. I don't remember. I fell asleep during
- 13:17Speaker 2: the movie, to be honest. So I read up on
- 13:19Speaker 2: the stick since it was based on real events, I
- 13:21Speaker 2: just read up on this story.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, he's prescribed medication in the movie at one point,
- 13:25Speaker 3: but then he's like, I'm.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Not taking those pills. It's like, oh, good good, Yeah,
- 13:29Speaker 4: this is heading down a good road.
- 13:32Speaker 3: And the doctor he was seeing was a guy named
- 13:35Speaker 3: doctor Don Colbert. And Don Colbert gets a at one
- 13:39Speaker 3: point notebook full of basically messages from God that Mark
- 13:44Speaker 3: Taylor has received over the years.
- 13:48Speaker 2: So yeah, so Mark recorded his prophecies down, he wrote them,
- 13:53Speaker 2: and then for some reason he brought them to his doctor.
- 13:56Speaker 2: And instead of his doctor, instead of like saying, hey,
- 14:00Speaker 2: maybe we should talk about this and giving him a referral,
- 14:04Speaker 2: showed it to his wife, who is an was she
- 14:07Speaker 2: an she evangelist.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Or is a international ministry networker. Her name's Mary Colbert,
- 14:18Speaker 3: and I mean networker. She just builds networks of like
- 14:22Speaker 3: minded people, I assume, because that's what she did in
- 14:24Speaker 3: this case. Instead of oh, why she gave him a career,
- 14:28Speaker 3: she did, yeah, she What happened is she gets this
- 14:31Speaker 3: notebook and instead of his doctor going, because that's like
- 14:35Speaker 3: the one good decision in this whole story, is Mark
- 14:38Speaker 3: Taylor going, maybe my doctor should see this notebook of
- 14:41Speaker 3: messages from God. And instead of his doctor going like
- 14:45Speaker 3: you need fucking electroshock therapy or something, Jesus Christ and
- 14:49Speaker 3: so much for us the hipocratic, Yeah, he passes it
- 14:52Speaker 3: to his ultra religious wife and she's like, yeah, this
- 14:56Speaker 3: does sound like prophecy.
- 14:58Speaker 4: She actually in.
- 14:58Speaker 2: The movie uses you remember what year this was.
- 15:01Speaker 3: This was two thousand and sixteen. It was right before
- 15:05Speaker 3: the twenty sixteen election happened.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, I was right before Trump was elected. Right,
- 15:10Speaker 2: And yeah, the prophecy, the one that I think he's
- 15:13Speaker 2: famous for is the Trump prophecy.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Right, And that's the one that she reads that really
- 15:19Speaker 3: resonates with her, and she decides, well, this is the
- 15:22Speaker 3: word of God, and now we need to see.
- 15:24Speaker 2: It's crazy that that one is the one that resonates
- 15:27Speaker 2: with her, that this like you know, real estate tycoon
- 15:30Speaker 2: who grabs woman by the pussy, is the is the one.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Insane such is her heart.
- 15:34Speaker 3: It's insane that this is the dude evangelicals landed on
- 15:40Speaker 3: as their choice. Wild but because God told Mark Taylor
- 15:44Speaker 3: it was so. And this woman sets up a daily
- 15:49Speaker 3: prayer conference call that at one point builds to one
- 15:55Speaker 3: hundred thousand callers per day. Well, just all praying in
- 16:00Speaker 3: Unison that Donald Trump be elected. So you're created forty
- 16:04Speaker 3: fifth president.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Creating a devoted, loyal following there that will work for
- 16:10Speaker 2: his like to get him right, you know, and get
- 16:13Speaker 2: him elected.
- 16:13Speaker 4: And one hundred thousand that's not nothing. That's a lot
- 16:16Speaker 4: of people.
- 16:17Speaker 2: One hundred thousand a day, right, you know, I don't
- 16:19Speaker 2: know if everyone is doing this every day.
- 16:21Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 16:22Speaker 3: I mean she did it every day. So you didn't
- 16:25Speaker 3: you fell asleep watching the movie. You didn't see the
- 16:26Speaker 3: part where they blow the horns.
- 16:28Speaker 2: No, I fell asleep. Pretty it was.
- 16:32Speaker 3: It was, Yeah, it's a bad movie. It's it's a
- 16:35Speaker 3: very bad movie. And we're gonna we'll talk about some
- 16:38Speaker 3: of the details of the movie.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, for what I what I caught.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Is it's it's a fucking nightmare. But also had a
- 16:48Speaker 3: pretty decent budget. Two million dollars was the budget.
- 16:51Speaker 2: But they had a student crew.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Liberty University which is one of the biggest Christian colleges
- 16:56Speaker 3: in the United States. It's owned by Jerry Folwell Junior,
- 17:00Speaker 3: I think, okay, and he's like a huge evangelical leader.
- 17:07Speaker 4: So it was a student crew.
- 17:09Speaker 3: But it was that university puts out like videos all
- 17:14Speaker 3: the time and they try to make one feature film
- 17:17Speaker 3: every year.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I heard they didn't. They didn't make the money back,
- 17:21Speaker 2: but it was still considered somewhat of like pretty much
- 17:24Speaker 2: a success.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:25Speaker 3: I made six hundred thousand dollars at the box office,
- 17:27Speaker 3: which is more than I think most people would expect
- 17:30Speaker 3: that it would have made. And so they they organized
- 17:35Speaker 3: this daily prayer of one hundred thousand dollars a day,
- 17:40Speaker 3: and sure enough, Trump wins, and immediately after Trump wins,
- 17:45Speaker 3: not just Mary Colbert, but several other religious types are
- 17:50Speaker 3: like God, because God valid Yeah, that's why Trump won
- 17:56Speaker 3: because we prayed and he is God's chosen candidate. It
- 18:01Speaker 3: write it down, and it should be noted. Not every
- 18:04Speaker 3: religious leader, like not even like mainstream Christian types in
- 18:08Speaker 3: the United States. Some of them were like, ah, you're
- 18:12Speaker 3: being heretics right now.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Ye this There were a lot of students at the
- 18:17Speaker 2: university protested having this be the film that they were
- 18:20Speaker 2: going to shoot this year.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Right, and mostly on the grounds that this is a
- 18:25Speaker 3: movie about how God selected a fucking a moral grifter
- 18:29Speaker 3: to be president of the United States.
- 18:32Speaker 2: It's not really a good look. It's a terrible look, so,
- 18:35Speaker 2: I mean, and it's so confused. Everything's so confusing here.
- 18:40Speaker 3: And so that's the crux of what happened. This guy
- 18:43Speaker 3: has a fucking hallucination basically and decides Trump is going
- 18:48Speaker 3: to be president.
- 18:48Speaker 2: And prior to this, he was having regular fever dreams
- 18:52Speaker 2: where he was in Hell and would see a demonic figure.
- 18:55Speaker 2: He'd be like tortured by like some hell demon or something.
- 19:00Speaker 4: Yeah, he was sick. He was he had mental illness.
- 19:03Speaker 2: And his so his doctor is I mean, does anyone
- 19:06Speaker 2: you know looking into that.
- 19:09Speaker 3: That's the thing this is practice for like the audience
- 19:12Speaker 3: this is for wants this already so bad yea, So
- 19:16Speaker 3: they're not going to ask that many questions, like to them,
- 19:20Speaker 3: and especially as you see it in the movie, he's
- 19:23Speaker 3: not mentally ill, like he doesn't need pills, he doesn't
- 19:27Speaker 3: like he's just he needs he needs Trump to fucking
- 19:29Speaker 3: get elected so all of his crazy prophecies can be
- 19:34Speaker 3: shown to be true.
- 19:36Speaker 2: And he's had other prophecies that didn't turn out.
- 19:40Speaker 3: He's got that's the thing this guy has. Will talk
- 19:44Speaker 3: about it more at the end of the episode. But
- 19:46Speaker 3: this guy has gone on to start a YouTube page
- 19:48Speaker 3: that's got like hundreds of prophecy videos and he's got
- 19:52Speaker 3: a ton.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Of followers five five figures.
- 19:56Speaker 3: Yeah, he's got forty three thousand followers plus on YouTube,
- 20:00Speaker 3: which is a lot.
- 20:01Speaker 4: It's more than this show has.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Like he's reaching more of an audience than us with
- 20:05Speaker 3: a really fucking destructive message. But this movie, this movie
- 20:10Speaker 3: is fucking terrible.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I was hoping it was a documentary. When I saw
- 20:14Speaker 2: it was like a scripted film.
- 20:15Speaker 3: I was like, that's why I had to watch it,
- 20:18Speaker 3: knowing it was a scripted film.
- 20:21Speaker 2: It was funny, it is.
- 20:22Speaker 3: There are parts of it that are are very funny.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Not in the they didn't intend it to be funny, Yeah,
- 20:28Speaker 3: but very funny. It again, it tells the story of
- 20:33Speaker 3: Mark Taylor. It opens with the famous house fire. Yeah,
- 20:38Speaker 3: and my favorite thing about this house fire scene in
- 20:41Speaker 3: the movie. He runs in and for one thing, the
- 20:44Speaker 3: kid is standing up but is apparently also dead.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Oh, I only I must have zoned out. He was
- 20:50Speaker 2: like I saw him when he was carrying the kid out.
- 20:52Speaker 3: He runs in the room and finds him and the
- 20:54Speaker 3: kids standing but like the back of his neck is
- 20:57Speaker 3: burnt a little bit, and he carries this kid out
- 21:02Speaker 3: into this menagerie of fellow firefighters and no one even
- 21:07Speaker 3: tries to revive the kid.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Yeah, it was. There was a lot of logic holes
- 21:13Speaker 2: in logic.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Yeah, throughout.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I mean you can just you can tell it's not
- 21:17Speaker 2: you know, like they were there wasn't a priority.
- 21:19Speaker 3: No, No, the priority was the message. They weren't expecting
- 21:23Speaker 3: us to watch this. There's like, like the funniest part
- 21:28Speaker 3: about that scene is they he walks out the kid
- 21:31Speaker 3: is clearly dead because no one's even going to check
- 21:33Speaker 3: or give.
- 21:34Speaker 4: Him mouth to mouth or anything.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and all the firefighters around him like get sad
- 21:39Speaker 3: and shake their heads and start heading back to the fire.
- 21:43Speaker 4: Truck to leave. The house is still on fire.
- 21:46Speaker 1: That's right, they just leave either because the kid died
- 21:50Speaker 1: in the house it's still burning. Who directed this the
- 21:54Speaker 1: students of Liberty University, I'm guessing, but also Liberty University.
- 21:58Speaker 1: It's such a big institute, especially among Christian types.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Where is it?
- 22:03Speaker 3: I don't I didn't look that up where. It's got
- 22:07Speaker 3: to be Florida, right.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I mean, I haven't heard I feel like i'd have
- 22:10Speaker 2: heard of it. It was in Florida University. It is uh, Virginia.
- 22:16Speaker 5: It sounds about right Lynchburg. No, that really sounds about
- 22:21Speaker 5: l y n h Burg. H Wow, how'd that town
- 22:25Speaker 5: get that name?
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:27Speaker 3: Uh yeah, Liberty University it's a it's a pretty well
- 22:31Speaker 3: respected institution, at least among uh.
- 22:34Speaker 2: That there were there were some people there who were like, no,
- 22:38Speaker 2: maybe this is not the best look.
- 22:41Speaker 4: Yeah, so it's yeah, so it's yeah.
- 22:43Speaker 2: They ended up might be more in touch with the pulse.
- 22:46Speaker 3: They ended up getting something like twenty five hundred signatures
- 22:49Speaker 3: on that petition to like ban this movie or whatever
- 22:53Speaker 3: they wanted to do.
- 22:54Speaker 2: So why did Liberty just go ahead? Like, why was
- 22:56Speaker 2: this so important to them?
- 22:58Speaker 3: I think it's important to them because it the message
- 23:03Speaker 3: this movie is sending is very much don't question what's
- 23:08Speaker 3: happening with Donald Trump.
- 23:10Speaker 2: That's very dangerous.
- 23:11Speaker 3: It's God's plan, and your job is to pray for
- 23:16Speaker 3: a powerful authority figure to guide America through these troubled times.
- 23:21Speaker 2: It's God's plan as told to us by a firefighter
- 23:25Speaker 2: who suffers from PTSD and correct and hallucinations.
- 23:30Speaker 3: But they did all that praying and Trump won. So
- 23:33Speaker 3: obviously this is God's plan and that's what That's what
- 23:36Speaker 3: really bothers me about this, and it's why I want
- 23:38Speaker 3: to do the episode because it is a little more
- 23:40Speaker 3: dangerous than it seems.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I think a big person who's responsible for this is
- 23:45Speaker 2: Mary Colbert, so almost a puppet, and she's you know,
- 23:49Speaker 2: I wonder how invest I mean, she's co authored the
- 23:53Speaker 2: book they were like released.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Right right, and Don Colbert is also he's been featured
- 24:01Speaker 3: regularly on all of these televangelist shows and shit, like
- 24:06Speaker 3: he's a fixture on that scene also, and they like
- 24:09Speaker 3: it does seem like there was a little bit of
- 24:11Speaker 3: opportunism where he sees this book and he's like let's
- 24:14Speaker 3: do something with this. Let's pretend it's really the voice.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Of God or maybe he believes it.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Yeah, that could be. That's as depicted in the film.
- 24:22Speaker 3: That's what happens. They like clearly believe this is God
- 24:25Speaker 3: saying Trump is gonna be president and we need to
- 24:28Speaker 3: put all of our energy behind it. And they like
- 24:31Speaker 3: where it starts to feel like propaganda.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Is lucky for Trump to have people just that into
- 24:36Speaker 2: his winning.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like it's yeah, lucky's one word for I
- 24:41Speaker 3: hope it's just luck. Like there's always the possibility that
- 24:45Speaker 3: someone behind his campaign wanted this sort of outcome because
- 24:50Speaker 3: it's not like.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Well, it's just like how it's so odd how it unfolded.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Yeah, it's and then.
- 24:56Speaker 2: It took off and this is a movement. How mainstream
- 24:59Speaker 2: is this movement on mainstream?
- 25:00Speaker 4: Right?
- 25:00Speaker 2: It's still like a I.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Mean everyone like that's the thing. Liberty University is a
- 25:06Speaker 4: pretty mainstream.
- 25:07Speaker 2: That's pretty scary, so is in this It does a
- 25:12Speaker 2: large portion of the population consider Mark Taylor a profit.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Well, again, he's got forty three thousand subscribers to his
- 25:20Speaker 3: YouTube channel and he does videos like daily, so you
- 25:24Speaker 3: have to like that doesn't necessarily mean forty three thousand people,
- 25:28Speaker 3: but that also doesn't necessarily mean it's less like that
- 25:31Speaker 3: could be some of those could be household accounts where
- 25:34Speaker 3: several people watching those videos from the same account all
- 25:39Speaker 3: believe the same thing, like it's not it's it's probably
- 25:43Speaker 3: represents the most rabid part of Trump's base, but they're
- 25:48Speaker 3: also kind of the most dangerous part of Trump's base.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean there's no there's no reasoning or reaching
- 25:56Speaker 2: a middle ground or like you know, leveling right who
- 26:00Speaker 2: if they don't have a willingness to do that, Like
- 26:03Speaker 2: if it's just this and this.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Is it, and there's a I mentioned this book all
- 26:08Speaker 3: the time. I don't know how much I've mentioned it
- 26:11Speaker 3: on this show, though. There's a book. You can find
- 26:15Speaker 3: it online. You can read it online for free. It's
- 26:17Speaker 3: called The Authoritarians. It's by a guy named Bob Altemeyer
- 26:20Speaker 3: who was a or he's still alive, but he's retired now.
- 26:25Speaker 3: But he was a professor at the University of Manitoba
- 26:27Speaker 3: and he for like fifteen years gave every incoming freshman
- 26:32Speaker 3: this survey that was meant to determine how prone the
- 26:38Speaker 3: population in general is to seeking out an authoritarian leader,
- 26:43Speaker 3: like someone like Trump. But he wrote this way before
- 26:45Speaker 3: Trump ran for office, Like he did all this research
- 26:49Speaker 3: in the seventies and eighties, and then someone was writing
- 26:53Speaker 3: a book about George Bush and came across this guy's
- 26:56Speaker 3: work and was like, oh, you need to make this
- 26:59Speaker 3: a book.
- 27:00Speaker 4: And he wrote.
- 27:01Speaker 3: He wrote it and put it out, but it hasn't
- 27:03Speaker 3: gotten a ton of attention.
- 27:05Speaker 4: You didn't have Mary Colbert exactly.
- 27:08Speaker 3: And the book it describes the kind of people who
- 27:12Speaker 3: seek an authoritarian leader, which is what Trump is.
- 27:16Speaker 2: And I think that is I think, you know, people
- 27:19Speaker 2: in sort of people who seek authoritarian leadership and are
- 27:24Speaker 2: very sort of into dogma. I think are people who
- 27:28Speaker 2: really feel a need for that anchoring to feel sisty,
- 27:31Speaker 2: you know. And it's just like if they can sort
- 27:33Speaker 2: of adopt a belief system and it resonates with them somehow,
- 27:40Speaker 2: then they're you know, that's their coping, that's their coping
- 27:43Speaker 2: mechanism and it or that's a coping mechanism, right.
- 27:47Speaker 3: And and what you end up finding in those people
- 27:51Speaker 3: is they their line of thinking tends to be like
- 27:57Speaker 3: an ends justify the means kind of thing, where well,
- 28:00Speaker 3: that's the guy we want to be our authority figure,
- 28:04Speaker 3: and whatever he's doing ends with him still being our
- 28:08Speaker 3: authority figure. So it's fine, he can do anything he wants.
- 28:12Speaker 2: It's just like they just want to be right.
- 28:14Speaker 3: Yeah, they want to be right, and they want they
- 28:18Speaker 3: want to feel like their guy is in charge and
- 28:22Speaker 3: that he's going to bring some semblance of law and
- 28:26Speaker 3: order to the country.
- 28:28Speaker 2: And that's again coming from a place of insecurity and fear.
- 28:32Speaker 2: It's like, oh, it's just like walking around being scared.
- 28:35Speaker 2: The dogmatic God is a fear based god, I think,
- 28:38Speaker 2: oh yeah.
- 28:39Speaker 4: For sure.
- 28:39Speaker 3: And it like what this movie does is those the
- 28:44Speaker 3: people who are like most fervently following Trump right now,
- 28:48Speaker 3: they already have that streak where they want to believe
- 28:52Speaker 3: that everything he does is right because it ends with
- 28:56Speaker 3: him being president. But a movie like this just selit
- 29:00Speaker 3: defies it so much because it brings God into it.
- 29:03Speaker 3: And now it's not just well, our leader, that's who
- 29:06Speaker 3: we wanted for a leader. Now it's oh, well, it's
- 29:09Speaker 3: not like God wanted our leader. Like that's who we wanted,
- 29:12Speaker 3: and then God wants him too, So nothing anyone can
- 29:16Speaker 3: say is ever gonna change our mind. And that's why
- 29:19Speaker 3: I think this movie was made. I think it's it's
- 29:22Speaker 3: meant to kind of quietly solidify Trump's evangelical base, but
- 29:29Speaker 3: in a way that like people on the left are
- 29:31Speaker 3: gonna look at this and go silly bullshit. Ye like,
- 29:34Speaker 3: who fucking cares about this? But when you dig into
- 29:37Speaker 3: Mark Taylor and what he's up to today, he's not
- 29:40Speaker 3: just pushing Trump is great. He's pushing QAnon stuff, like
- 29:44Speaker 3: he's getting deep into like like the violent conspiracy theories. It's, uh,
- 29:50Speaker 3: it's not nothing, and it's it's it's not funny. It
- 29:54Speaker 3: just looks funny.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I mean, I think there was another prophecy
- 29:59Speaker 2: related to our relations with Israel. Yes, that was I
- 30:03Speaker 2: think a major thing that kept coming up when I
- 30:05Speaker 2: looked at some of the other prophecies.
- 30:07Speaker 4: What we should we should listen to.
- 30:09Speaker 3: This is the actual Commander in Chief prophecy as read
- 30:13Speaker 3: by Mark Taylor, and it also brings up it's the
- 30:16Speaker 3: same one that brings up Israel.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah. You look at the pictures and all these guys
- 30:20Speaker 2: have mustaches.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Yeah, this guy, I mean, he looks perfectly normal, I suppose.
- 30:26Speaker 4: But here we go.
- 30:27Speaker 7: Spirit of God says I've shown this an Donald Trump
- 30:29Speaker 7: for such a time as this for us, Benjamin and
- 30:32Speaker 7: Yahoo is to Israel. So shall this man be the
- 30:34Speaker 7: United States of America. For I will use this man
- 30:36Speaker 7: to bring honor, respect, and restoration to America. America will
- 30:40Speaker 7: be respected once again as the most powerful, prosperous nation
- 30:42Speaker 7: on earth other than Israel. The dollar will be the
- 30:44Speaker 7: strongest that has ever been in the history of the
- 30:46Speaker 7: United States, and will once again be the currency by
- 30:48Speaker 7: which all others are judged. The Spirit of God says,
- 30:51Speaker 7: the enemy will quake and shake and fear this man
- 30:53Speaker 7: I have anointed. They will even quake and shake when
- 30:55Speaker 7: he announces he is running for president. It will be
- 30:58Speaker 7: like the shot heard across the world. Will say, what
- 31:00Speaker 7: shall we do now? This man knows all our tricks
- 31:03Speaker 7: and schemes. We have been robbing America for decades. What
- 31:06Speaker 7: shall we do to stop this? The Spirit says, ha,
- 31:08Speaker 7: No one shall stop this that I have started. For
- 31:10Speaker 7: the enemy has stolen from America for decades, and it
- 31:13Speaker 7: stops now. For I will use this man to reap
- 31:15Speaker 7: the harvest that the United States has sown for and
- 31:17Speaker 7: plunder from the enemy what he has stolen and return
- 31:20Speaker 7: it sevenfold back to the United States. The enemy will say, Israel, Israel,
- 31:24Speaker 7: What about Israel? For Israel will be protected by America
- 31:27Speaker 7: once again. The Spirit says, Yes, America will once again
- 31:29Speaker 7: stand hand in hand with Israel, and the two shall
- 31:31Speaker 7: be as one. For the ties between Israel and America
- 31:34Speaker 7: will be stronger than ever, and Israel will flourished like
- 31:36Speaker 7: never before. The Spirit of God says, I will protect
- 31:39Speaker 7: America and Israel. For this next president will be a
- 31:41Speaker 7: man of his word. When he speaks, the world will
- 31:43Speaker 7: listen and know that there is something greater in him
- 31:46Speaker 7: than all the others before him. This man's word is
- 31:48Speaker 7: his bond, and the world in America will know this,
- 31:50Speaker 7: and the enemy will fear this. For this man will
- 31:53Speaker 7: be fear less, the Spirit says. When the financial harvest begins,
- 31:56Speaker 7: socialist parallel and the spiritual for America, the Spirit of
- 31:59Speaker 7: God says, in this next election, they will spend billions
- 32:01Speaker 7: to keep this president in. It will be like flushing
- 32:03Speaker 7: their money down the toilet. Let them waste their money
- 32:05Speaker 7: before it comes from evil forces at work. But they
- 32:08Speaker 7: will not succeed, for this next election will be a
- 32:11Speaker 7: clean sweep for the man I have chosen. They will
- 32:13Speaker 7: say things about this man the enemy, but it will
- 32:15Speaker 7: not affect him. They will say, it shall roll off
- 32:17Speaker 7: of him like the duck. For as the feathers of
- 32:19Speaker 7: a duck protect it, so shall my feathers protect this
- 32:21Speaker 7: next president. Even mainstream mediativated by this man and the
- 32:25Speaker 7: abilities that I have gifted him with bond.
- 32:28Speaker 2: The spirit of God spirits said, where it is bond.
- 32:31Speaker 2: And then also it's like, you know, the whole plunder
- 32:34Speaker 2: from our enemies, that's not very turn they you know,
- 32:36Speaker 2: turn the other cheek.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Yeah. And who's he talking about?
- 32:40Speaker 2: And are they Christian? Yeah, because there's no mention of
- 32:44Speaker 2: like their main dude.
- 32:46Speaker 3: No, No, Well that's because this is God talking to
- 32:49Speaker 3: him about how great Trump is. Like that if you
- 32:52Speaker 3: watch that, like the picture that he looks like he's
- 32:54Speaker 3: fucking Cia in that video.
- 32:56Speaker 4: He's got the mustache, he's got the suit like.
- 32:58Speaker 2: The dudes have stash.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Yeah, Like something's up like this This feels like, I mean,
- 33:06Speaker 3: not necessarily a government plot, but someone wants to really
- 33:12Speaker 3: reinforce the idea that Trump is God's president.
- 33:15Speaker 2: If this exists, then the government can use it.
- 33:19Speaker 4: That's true.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Like it's always something that can be exploited. And the
- 33:25Speaker 3: thing is, like this movie, it it's a shitty movie
- 33:29Speaker 3: that I would not recommend people watch, but it's six
- 33:33Speaker 3: hundred thousand dollars at the box office. It was promoted,
- 33:38Speaker 3: but like it was only shown on two days also
- 33:41Speaker 3: I think October second, October fourth, twenty eighteen for some reason,
- 33:46Speaker 3: several theaters, right something, but yeah, something like it was
- 33:50Speaker 3: through Fathom Events, which if you're ever at a movie
- 33:53Speaker 3: during the trailers at the beginning, they'll be like, fucking
- 33:56Speaker 3: rob Zombie in concert one night, only watch it in theater.
- 34:00Speaker 4: Like that's Fathom Events.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Six hundred thousand in two days.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Two days, and it was in something like more than
- 34:07Speaker 3: a thousand theaters, and it was promoted by all of
- 34:11Speaker 3: the different televangelists of the world.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Like that's a.
- 34:15Speaker 2: See these networks they have such huge following. So yeah,
- 34:19Speaker 2: it's like in terms of marketing, you know, they they
- 34:22Speaker 2: had a lot of resources.
- 34:24Speaker 3: And they exist in this bubble that most people don't
- 34:29Speaker 3: ever penetrate or look into or even acknowledge at all.
- 34:33Speaker 4: So they get to.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Tell these motherfuckers whenever they want, and they've spent the past.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Because these are coming from individuals. These are humans. These
- 34:42Speaker 2: are coming through the Even if if this dude was
- 34:45Speaker 2: talking to like spirit, the ultimate Spirit, it's just like
- 34:49Speaker 2: you're still still getting filtered through a dude.
- 34:51Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't know the you don't know the Spirit
- 34:54Speaker 3: isn't up there going Hey, I didn't say that.
- 34:57Speaker 4: You take it easy.
- 34:58Speaker 2: You want to spirit only talk to one dude?
- 35:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 35:01Speaker 3: Why this guy who also happened to have PTSD, one
- 35:04Speaker 3: of the symptoms sometimes being hearing voices.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and how come everyone who follows this is white?
- 35:10Speaker 3: Well, I mean, as depicted in the movie, he had
- 35:14Speaker 3: a couple black friends, so.
- 35:18Speaker 2: That was casting.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Yeah, Like his best firefighter friend was a Latino guy.
- 35:24Speaker 3: And like they they really went out of their way
- 35:27Speaker 3: to make it seem like, hey, this is an inclusive,
- 35:30Speaker 3: inclusive movement, when it's really not. One of the one
- 35:34Speaker 3: of the things that was brought up after this came
- 35:37Speaker 3: out is a lot of their.
- 35:40Speaker 4: A lot of the.
- 35:41Speaker 3: Ideas that are being pushed, especially in the movie, are
- 35:46Speaker 3: based on the ideas of a group called the New
- 35:50Speaker 3: Apostolic Reformation, and they are a group that believes the
- 35:54Speaker 3: entire world must become Christian for the Second Coming to happen.
- 35:59Speaker 4: Oh, that's the exact thing.
- 36:02Speaker 3: People on the right have been accusing Muslims of forever,
- 36:06Speaker 3: at least since nine to eleven that oh, well, what
- 36:08Speaker 3: they want is to make the entire world. They want
- 36:13Speaker 3: Islam to be the only religion in the world.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sure, I'm sure all of them do.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, that's the whole thing. Like, so do you.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Right there?
- 36:21Speaker 4: You know?
- 36:22Speaker 3: Yeah, And that that's another reason why it's really hard
- 36:25Speaker 3: to get behind organized religions, Yeah, because of shit.
- 36:28Speaker 2: Like that doesn't sit well with me.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Right, and like what they're proposing, like people aren't just
- 36:35Speaker 3: gonna become Christian because you ask, like, I mean, yeah,
- 36:38Speaker 3: oh yeah, it takes violence in reprogramming. And so it's
- 36:45Speaker 3: like what's at the root of this is actually really
- 36:48Speaker 3: scary and not great, but it's all wrapped in this silly,
- 36:52Speaker 3: fucking movie that's on Amazon that looks stupid. And then
- 36:55Speaker 3: at the end, uh, you're lucky you fell asleep, because
- 36:59Speaker 3: the last twenty minute is just uh, it's not even
- 37:02Speaker 3: movie anymore. It's like all these evangelicals like chastising people
- 37:06Speaker 3: about how they need to be praying for this authority
- 37:09Speaker 3: figure that's in power now to stay in power and
- 37:12Speaker 3: to guide America to our new prosperity. Like this is
- 37:17Speaker 3: it's it's fucking programming like this. Yeah, this is absolutely propaganda,
- 37:22Speaker 3: in dangerous propaganda.
- 37:25Speaker 2: I mean, can you imagine if the movie was good?
- 37:27Speaker 4: Yeah, that would be even worse.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean what are these actors doing?
- 37:33Speaker 7: Now?
- 37:34Speaker 2: See some of them shot recently? Actually, yeah, are these
- 37:37Speaker 2: Hollywood actors or student actors?
- 37:39Speaker 3: Some of them looked like they were vaguely familiar, like
- 37:42Speaker 3: as character actors in something.
- 37:45Speaker 4: But the acting terrible.
- 37:48Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying is like character actors are generally good.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Yeah, they're I don't know, I didn't like they all
- 37:57Speaker 3: had familiar faces, but it was probably that thing where
- 38:01Speaker 3: they're like, let's get people who look like yeah people
- 38:04Speaker 3: people already know. So these dummies will think it's like
- 38:06Speaker 3: a big Hollywood production. Yeah, which two million dollars. That's
- 38:09Speaker 3: not I mean, that's not a big not nothing. It's
- 38:11Speaker 3: not big budget. But it's a budget. Yeah, it's a
- 38:15Speaker 3: lot of fucking money. And yeah the right now, like
- 38:18Speaker 3: this Mark Taylor guy now has flipped all of this
- 38:23Speaker 3: into this like YouTube empire where he's on damn near
- 38:27Speaker 3: every day spreading like QAnon theories and this shit about
- 38:33Speaker 3: Trump being God's chosen candidate, and it it's fucking dangerous.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Like it's again, there's no coming back from a belief
- 38:41Speaker 3: like this, There's no rescuing someone when they think God
- 38:45Speaker 3: wants that person to be our president.
- 38:48Speaker 2: This is the type of shit that makes Handmaid's Tail
- 38:51Speaker 2: very scary sometimes. Yeah, and just knowing that, like you
- 38:55Speaker 2: know the and I think that's why the awareness is important.
- 38:57Speaker 2: So wh're you know you don't want to be sucker
- 38:59Speaker 2: punched by an underground army, yeah that you know wants
- 39:04Speaker 2: to eliminate everything except Christianity.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Well, it's like this again seems like a small, niche thing.
- 39:12Speaker 3: But when you to draw another comparison to the flat
- 39:16Speaker 3: Earth movement, like those both at their core want the
- 39:20Speaker 3: same thing, which is a very strict interpretation of the
- 39:25Speaker 3: Christian Bible, and that's the ultimate, Like that's the end
- 39:30Speaker 3: point of the flat earth theory, even though it doesn't
- 39:33Speaker 3: seem like it on the surface. It's again like another
- 39:36Speaker 3: kind of so rigid, kind of funny thing that people
- 39:39Speaker 3: on the left look at. And it's like Kyrie Irving
- 39:42Speaker 3: believes the Earth is flat, and it's like that shit matters.
- 39:45Speaker 4: And when you combine because.
- 39:46Speaker 2: You're programming generations. Yeah, and when you know it's like
- 39:50Speaker 2: the people born into this, it's I mean, that's tough.
- 39:53Speaker 2: That's tough to get out of it. It's I mean,
- 39:56Speaker 2: to me, that's it's mental illness.
- 39:59Speaker 4: It absolutely is, and it's it's mental.
- 40:02Speaker 3: It's they took this guy's mental illness and are basically
- 40:07Speaker 3: spreading it. They're like forcing it on people as a law,
- 40:13Speaker 3: like religious law, their law. Like it's again, the movie
- 40:17Speaker 3: ends with them just chastising people about how they need
- 40:20Speaker 3: to be praying for Trump, and it when you combine
- 40:24Speaker 3: how many people are following this guy, which is right
- 40:27Speaker 3: now forty three thousand on just on YouTube, and how
- 40:31Speaker 3: many flat earthers there are, that's when like I'm sure
- 40:35Speaker 3: those venn diagrams overlap, yeah, pretty fucking heavily. But they're
- 40:40Speaker 3: also both gonna bring each other into the fold eventually
- 40:44Speaker 3: because they're all they're both pushing toward a really strict
- 40:49Speaker 3: Christian conservative world, not just United States, but world in general.
- 40:55Speaker 3: And you're right to bring up Handmaid's Tale, like I
- 40:59Speaker 3: say it about flat Earth all the time, like it's
- 41:01Speaker 3: funny until you wake up one day and like flat
- 41:05Speaker 3: earthers have stormed Congress and now they're the government, and
- 41:08Speaker 3: it's like, oh shit, fifty percent of the military is
- 41:10Speaker 3: flat earthers. We had no idea, and it's like now
- 41:13Speaker 3: you know, and we're all fucked.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's I mean, I think that's why they're It's
- 41:17Speaker 2: good to have an awareness. But the thing is, I'm
- 41:19Speaker 2: sure the you know, the government already does, but it's
- 41:23Speaker 2: just like, yeah, you know, like so you know, they
- 41:25Speaker 2: become a and then it just becomes you know, the
- 41:27Speaker 2: people in power. It's just like what's their motive? Right,
- 41:31Speaker 2: because this is this is a big tool there. That's
- 41:33Speaker 2: a lot of people.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a whole lot of people, especially like they
- 41:37Speaker 3: have a movie, they have a YouTube page, like there's
- 41:40Speaker 3: a book out there. Like they're reaching a lot of
- 41:42Speaker 3: people with this message. And unless you're doing something like
- 41:46Speaker 3: we're doing right now, there's no reason for you to
- 41:50Speaker 3: seek this out unless you already kind of believe.
- 41:52Speaker 2: I've never heard of this prophecy. Yeah, for this movement,
- 41:55Speaker 2: I like I have seen their people who are like, oh,
- 41:58Speaker 2: it's God's will because you know, like for some reason,
- 42:02Speaker 2: you know, a lot of you know, a lot of
- 42:04Speaker 2: religious conservative support a guy who doesn't really seem to
- 42:08Speaker 2: it just seems incongruent with with what they say their
- 42:11Speaker 2: values and beliefs are right, This leader, this chosen leader,
- 42:16Speaker 2: does not match. So that's what's confusing to.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Me, and I think that's what's confusing to all those
- 42:23Speaker 3: students who signed that petition about this movie also. But
- 42:27Speaker 3: I think the people behind this movie get that. They
- 42:31Speaker 3: get that Trump is very antithetical to what their values
- 42:35Speaker 3: are supposed to be. And that's why a movie like
- 42:38Speaker 3: this helps because once you know it's God's plan, none
- 42:41Speaker 3: of that matters.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Yeah, which is that's not cool.
- 42:45Speaker 3: No, No, it's dangerous propaganda, is what it is.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Cool Like, it's just like, you know, it's it just
- 42:53Speaker 2: you can't question anything. You're like, this is just what
- 42:55Speaker 2: it is and it doesn't matter how many people get.
- 42:58Speaker 4: Hurt, right, And they were.
- 43:00Speaker 3: They were able to get one hundred matter one hundred
- 43:02Speaker 3: thousand people a day to carry out this one act
- 43:06Speaker 3: on behalf of Trump.
- 43:08Speaker 2: And that's a lot of people who went out and voted. Yeah,
- 43:11Speaker 2: it's a lot of people who went out. If you're
- 43:13Speaker 2: praying about it, you're definitely campaigning for him.
- 43:17Speaker 3: And it's also one of the things they bring up
- 43:20Speaker 3: in that Authoritarians book is that people who follow leaders
- 43:23Speaker 3: like this are prone to violence, especially if they're directed
- 43:28Speaker 3: to do it at the behest of that leader or
- 43:31Speaker 3: for the benefit of that leader.
- 43:33Speaker 2: So threat right, if you're you know, if you're driven
- 43:36Speaker 2: to you know, it's if every if you're feeling so threatened,
- 43:40Speaker 2: you know, you're you're fuse for violence is gonna be
- 43:42Speaker 2: much shorter.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Right, So what how do these people react when if
- 43:47Speaker 3: if Trump is impeached, Like, it's gonna it's not gonna
- 43:50Speaker 3: be a hard flip switch to flip to go Okay, well, instead.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Of praying someone's gonna freak out, you're.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Gonna have to take it to the streets.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Now, they're gonna be an organized freak out.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Right, And is it going to turn into like a
- 44:03Speaker 3: war type situation, like a civil war type of thing,
- 44:07Speaker 3: like there are like there's obviously at least one hundred
- 44:10Speaker 3: thousand people who are kind of on board.
- 44:13Speaker 2: With this, Like do you think they're heavily armed, Oh.
- 44:16Speaker 3: I'm sure they're heavily armed. Like a lot of them
- 44:19Speaker 3: are heavily armed.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Now I'll be honest, I don't love going to like
- 44:23Speaker 2: very crowded public places.
- 44:25Speaker 3: No, No, I didn't before they were getting shot up,
- 44:29Speaker 3: and now I especially don't.
- 44:31Speaker 2: Yeah, same, same, I'm not like I don't love three
- 44:34Speaker 2: you know, ton like I don't love crowds. But yeah,
- 44:36Speaker 2: like that's just it just feels like such a target
- 44:38Speaker 2: like Disney.
- 44:39Speaker 5: Worlder Yeah, and especially being in La yeah, big city.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Like this would be a place where someone some conservative
- 44:48Speaker 3: fuckstick would want to send a message. Yeah I'm not
- 44:51Speaker 3: trying to be part of that message.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Yeah, well just leave me the fuck out of it, exactly.
- 44:56Speaker 3: And yeah, that's the thing, like a lot of people
- 44:59Speaker 3: who probably a lot of people who probably also didn't
- 45:05Speaker 3: want to be part of this message are part of
- 45:07Speaker 3: it now because they've seen this movie.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Hey, I mean the spirit said word is bond.
- 45:10Speaker 4: You know exactly. You know, Spearon had bars.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Fire Man just spitting fire.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Fucking hell fire. So did you get demon Man?
- 45:23Speaker 2: The demon in the movie that like sweird cgi animated.
- 45:27Speaker 4: Like first climbed across the ceiling.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Looking like like Gollum on fire Like.
- 45:32Speaker 3: It looked neat at first, but then when it was
- 45:34Speaker 3: like there were scenes where it got up close.
- 45:36Speaker 2: I watched it really late at night, and I was like,
- 45:38Speaker 2: I can't take this.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Yeah, it that's the thing, the way the movie lays
- 45:45Speaker 3: out this story, it's just so clearly a story of
- 45:49Speaker 3: ignored mental illness. Yeah, and they want it to seem
- 45:53Speaker 3: like prophecy.
- 45:55Speaker 2: And yeah, I mean, I'm very curious how the Colberts
- 45:58Speaker 2: are living nowadays.
- 45:59Speaker 4: I'm sure they're doing fine.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Like, especially if you're the woman behind the campaign that
- 46:04Speaker 3: all these evangelicals think got Trump elected.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Can you imagine just the couple sort of planning this.
- 46:12Speaker 2: They're like, look, I have this dude, he has all
- 46:14Speaker 2: these messages. You know, he's let's let's use him. He'll
- 46:19Speaker 2: be easy to manipulate.
- 46:21Speaker 4: Yeah, seems like such a grift.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and it does. It feels like that has to
- 46:26Speaker 3: be kind of what happened. And it's either that or
- 46:30Speaker 3: maybe they're all crazy. Maybe Mary Colbert's and fucking whack
- 46:34Speaker 3: a doo also, but I don't.
- 46:36Speaker 2: Think so, I could do fock stick.
- 46:39Speaker 3: I feel like she like, I feel like she and
- 46:42Speaker 3: her doctor husband saw an opportunity here, especially with like
- 46:47Speaker 3: she's into real estate too and shit like that, Like
- 46:50Speaker 3: of course she.
- 46:50Speaker 4: Wants Trump to win.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Well, yeah.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Like, and if you're if you're a well in the family, yeah,
- 46:56Speaker 3: and if you're like a ministry networker, like you already
- 46:59Speaker 3: know so many people who want Trump to win, and
- 47:01Speaker 3: this is just like.
- 47:02Speaker 2: A worldwide networker you have money, right, Oh.
- 47:05Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely.
- 47:06Speaker 3: And it's not like this is the kind of thing
- 47:09Speaker 3: you're gonna take to the media. You're not like gonna
- 47:11Speaker 3: hit up CNN and be like, hey, God told this
- 47:14Speaker 3: guy that Trump is gonna win the election. No, you're
- 47:16Speaker 3: just gonna take it to the people you know who
- 47:18Speaker 3: will believe it. Yeah, the people who have been following
- 47:21Speaker 3: all the crazy shit you say up to this point.
- 47:23Speaker 4: So why wouldn't they believe Trump's gonna win?
- 47:25Speaker 2: It already sounded like she had a huge community.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Yeah, yeahs as a networker, and and yeah, it just
- 47:31Speaker 3: it seems really uh, this seems like something more than Mark.
- 47:35Speaker 2: Taylor made it.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Man, he did, he made it.
- 47:38Speaker 3: He won the lottery, He won the fucking mental illness loty.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Yeah, can you believe it?
- 47:43Speaker 3: Someone said, yes, sir, you are sick. Let's make a
- 47:46Speaker 3: YouTube star out of you.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Oh he's a like that's wild, and it like he
- 47:51Speaker 2: doesn't someone gonna hear this podcast in LA and they're
- 47:55Speaker 2: gonna get an idea of how to make it in
- 47:57Speaker 2: this industry.
- 47:58Speaker 4: Maybe we need to figure out Yeah, like we.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Maybe I need to use my mental illness.
- 48:03Speaker 4: Yeah, we just need to be the left version of this.
- 48:06Speaker 2: You know, just why fight it?
- 48:08Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 48:08Speaker 3: Hey, what if we tell people it's God's plan that
- 48:12Speaker 3: Trump isn't president? Yeah, you know what, see if we can,
- 48:16Speaker 3: we'll make a movie.
- 48:17Speaker 2: If people want to hear God filtered through me? I
- 48:20Speaker 2: am I am for it. Oh yeah, here for it.
- 48:24Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean I'm ready to be a cult leader.
- 48:26Speaker 2: I'll say you're filtered through me. I'm gonna be very
- 48:28Speaker 2: there's gonna be full transparency. I'll be like, you know, it's.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Filtered through me.
- 48:31Speaker 2: So if you don't, if you need to find someone
- 48:33Speaker 2: else that resonates more.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Me and God don't always agree. Sometimes that changes words
- 48:39Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 48:40Speaker 3: You know, I'm gonna have to deal with it. He's
- 48:42Speaker 3: only talking to me. That would be fun, That would
- 48:46Speaker 3: be a fun position to be. And I don't like
- 48:48Speaker 3: I get it. Like if if you go to people
- 48:52Speaker 3: and say God's talking to me and they're like, we
- 48:54Speaker 3: believe you, that's got it. That's got to be really powerful.
- 48:56Speaker 2: And if you got that many people who believe you,
- 48:58Speaker 2: it's just going to be get more followers, right, and
- 49:01Speaker 2: people drink kool aid.
- 49:02Speaker 3: And that's if you go out to his YouTube page,
- 49:04Speaker 3: you'll see that that's what's happening. He's got tens of
- 49:07Speaker 3: thousands of followers, so many videos, and he's like any
- 49:12Speaker 3: other QAnon guy. He'll be like, Oh, this thing's happened
- 49:15Speaker 3: in Monday, and then it doesn't happen and you're like,
- 49:17Speaker 3: what the fuck, dude, are you just crazy?
- 49:19Speaker 4: He's like nah, but he is.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, there there were a couple of things.
- 49:23Speaker 2: I wish I remembered all of the prophecies. I mean,
- 49:25Speaker 2: for some reason, this is the one that is. I mean,
- 49:28Speaker 2: I think Trump is such a buzzword that this is probably,
- 49:33Speaker 2: like again, a marketing thing. Yeah, and they wanted him
- 49:36Speaker 2: to win. I think that was probably the most important thing,
- 49:38Speaker 2: the most the biggest thing at stake. Yeah, and them
- 49:42Speaker 2: for whatever reason.
- 49:42Speaker 3: And when you have a doctor who's like, oh, yeah,
- 49:46Speaker 3: this isn't mental illness, this is.
- 49:47Speaker 2: It validates yeah the guy.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's just it's just a really insidious example
- 49:54Speaker 3: of how that side works and especially as it pertains
- 50:00Speaker 3: to like the most over zealous segments of Trump's base,
- 50:05Speaker 3: Like they know how malleable those people are, and they
- 50:08Speaker 3: really fucking take advantage of it, and it's probably gonna
- 50:11Speaker 3: be to the detriment of us all someday.
- 50:14Speaker 2: I mean, I like to try to remain optimistic, but yeah, gross,
- 50:18Speaker 2: probably right.
- 50:20Speaker 4: What's your problem be an optimistic?
- 50:22Speaker 2: It's my it's my way of coping.
- 50:24Speaker 4: Oh okay, well, I guess that's it's just sort.
- 50:26Speaker 2: Of my nature. It's my wiring.
- 50:28Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, but I get it.
- 50:31Speaker 2: I understand. I understand why you would take my.
- 50:33Speaker 4: Wiring for now, give it till twenty twenty.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Yeah seriously.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Uh so, Yeah, I wouldn't say I recommend that people
- 50:40Speaker 3: go watch this movie, but be aware that it exists
- 50:44Speaker 3: and be aware that this is happening. And if you
- 50:47Speaker 3: have a really uh die hard Trump supporter in your life,
- 50:52Speaker 3: ask them if they've seen this movie.
- 50:53Speaker 2: Oh, that'd be very interesting to see, like how mainstream
- 50:57Speaker 2: this is in those communities.
- 50:59Speaker 3: It's gonna be a good indicator of how far gone
- 51:02Speaker 3: they are.
- 51:02Speaker 4: For one thing.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Yeah, ask him if they've seen it, and if they
- 51:06Speaker 3: either refuse to talk to you, about it or talk
- 51:10Speaker 3: about it very enthusiastically, be worried, or.
- 51:13Speaker 2: See if they talk about it like a movie critic,
- 51:15Speaker 2: and if they say.
- 51:15Speaker 3: It's right, then I actually didn't like the character. The
- 51:20Speaker 3: guy that played Don Colbert. He doesn't actually look like
- 51:23Speaker 3: that in real life.
- 51:24Speaker 4: It's like, that's not what I'm asking.
- 51:26Speaker 2: That's a casting issue.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Yeah, just as you ask your Trump support and relatives
- 51:32Speaker 3: if they have seen this movie and if they believe it,
- 51:35Speaker 3: and if they if they don't, hey fuck it, watch.
- 51:38Speaker 4: It with them. The Trump prophecy, it's on Amazon.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Mark Taylor, the Firefighter Prophet.
- 51:45Speaker 4: The fire fighter Prophet, and.
- 51:48Speaker 2: He has a boatload of followers, big.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Boat forty three thousand. You can check him out on YouTube.
- 51:55Speaker 3: Don't if you're probably don't follow him. Don't follow him.
- 51:59Speaker 4: But I'm just.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Views also like you're adding views. But I mean, it's
- 52:03Speaker 2: I don't know, it's it exists.
- 52:06Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the thing. I don't.
- 52:07Speaker 3: I don't really bring this up to make fun of
- 52:10Speaker 3: how bad the movie is, even though the movie's very bad.
- 52:13Speaker 3: I do think this is a legitimately troubling thing that's
- 52:16Speaker 3: kind of wrapped up in a bunch of goofiness. And
- 52:19Speaker 3: silliness that people on the left, which I count myself
- 52:22Speaker 3: as that, sometimes discount stuff like this and assume it
- 52:27Speaker 3: doesn't matter because it's so foreign to how a lot
- 52:31Speaker 3: of people on the left live and operate, Like there's
- 52:35Speaker 3: I don't think there's anyone that would like that, there's
- 52:39Speaker 3: nothing to this theory, Like this is a a full
- 52:43Speaker 3: on faith based thing and.
- 52:45Speaker 2: Full on yeah, completely, you're taking the word of two people.
- 52:49Speaker 3: And that's such a foreign concept to a lot of people.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Three people, if you're including the doctor's validation that this
- 52:56Speaker 2: is the same person.
- 52:58Speaker 3: And and that's so opposite of how a lot of
- 53:01Speaker 3: people who oppose Trump operate. So something like this seems
- 53:06Speaker 3: inconsequential and silly, but it's not.
- 53:09Speaker 4: And it's the.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Kind of stuff you sort of need to know about
- 53:13Speaker 3: Trump supporters. And like, if it seems like you're hitting
- 53:17Speaker 3: a brick wall trying to convince them they shouldn't be
- 53:20Speaker 3: voting for Trump, it's because you are, and you're probably
- 53:23Speaker 3: not doing yourself any favors, You're not doing them any favors. Like, unfortunately,
- 53:28Speaker 3: part of understanding Trump supporters is understanding shit like this.
- 53:31Speaker 3: Some of them just think this is God's plan and
- 53:34Speaker 3: nothing you say is going to make that bad.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I think it is understanding mental health and programming
- 53:42Speaker 2: because it is like, yeah, if you don't, I mean
- 53:44Speaker 2: a lot of people. I don't think the way to
- 53:46Speaker 2: deal with that is by like, you know, you can't.
- 53:49Speaker 2: You're not gonna get anywhere by clashing, right, I think
- 53:53Speaker 2: probably the most effective way to reach people are like,
- 53:56Speaker 2: and this is not efficient, but like one on one
- 53:58Speaker 2: human to human, Hey, I'm a human and then they
- 54:01Speaker 2: see you as a human. Then it's like, well, you know,
- 54:04Speaker 2: if you like me, then how you know, how can
- 54:07Speaker 2: you support things that hurt me?
- 54:10Speaker 4: Right?
- 54:11Speaker 2: So, but that's not an efficient way, you know, especially
- 54:13Speaker 2: when people are you know, I think programming. Can you know,
- 54:17Speaker 2: if you're having kids, you're having generations of people being raised,
- 54:22Speaker 2: you know with these belief systems.
- 54:24Speaker 4: That's the thing, Like these these are beliefs that are
- 54:27Speaker 4: going to carry on.
- 54:28Speaker 2: And you're giving them. These are the coping mechanisms, because
- 54:31Speaker 2: that's a lot of what I think organized religion is
- 54:34Speaker 2: used for personally, right, is for coping.
- 54:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and this is like this I could see this
- 54:41Speaker 4: being like.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Other people use drugs like this.
- 54:44Speaker 3: This movie is that pill you give someone when they're like,
- 54:47Speaker 3: everyone's telling me bad things about Trump, and you're telling
- 54:50Speaker 3: me we should be voting for him because God said so, Like,
- 54:52Speaker 3: where is that even coming from?
- 54:53Speaker 4: They're like, watch this film, it's very powerful.
- 54:56Speaker 2: But the film is not powerful.
- 54:58Speaker 4: The film is terrible.
- 55:00Speaker 2: To be good, I want to do some entertainment.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it would have at least been like if it
- 55:04Speaker 3: was like legitimately scary or funny or.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Something something, but it was. It was kind of dull.
- 55:09Speaker 4: It was trying to be a Hallmark movie.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Yes, ye, demons, I don't do Hallmark movies.
- 55:14Speaker 4: No, no, uh.
- 55:16Speaker 2: You're bland. It was bland.
- 55:18Speaker 4: It was very bland. Yeah. Uh.
- 55:21Speaker 3: And then the last thirty minutes it's just old white
- 55:23Speaker 3: dudes griping at you bland, very bland, uh, being lectured.
- 55:29Speaker 3: But it's been effective so far, unfortunately. And yeah, just
- 55:35Speaker 3: I'm telling you this flat earth theory. Don't be surprised
- 55:38Speaker 3: if we wake up one day and we're all flat
- 55:41Speaker 3: earthers now because our government decided.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Because we have to take the flat earth oath out loud,
- 55:46Speaker 2: yes exactly.
- 55:48Speaker 3: And if your phone doesn't hear you doing it, it
- 55:51Speaker 3: will send someone here, just like your phone can hear
- 55:54Speaker 3: you talking about dish racks. Yeah, and then you go
- 55:58Speaker 3: on Instagram, Hey you need a dish rack? We got
- 56:01Speaker 3: we click here.
- 56:02Speaker 2: My favorite was red boots. Oh yeah, I need some
- 56:04Speaker 2: red boots.
- 56:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:06Speaker 3: I think people underestimate that that could just be turned
- 56:08Speaker 3: into like a surveillance thing, because I assume it is like,
- 56:12Speaker 3: how big of a leap is it from Oh, well,
- 56:15Speaker 3: your phone just heard you say something shitty about the government,
- 56:19Speaker 3: So we're going to send someone out to talk and
- 56:22Speaker 3: just make sure you're doing all right.
- 56:23Speaker 4: It's not a big leap.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:25Speaker 2: Well, I think to that it takes a certain level
- 56:27Speaker 2: of power and celebrity. So here's hoping.
- 56:30Speaker 4: Yeah, and.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Like when you hear like crazy suggestions like that, it's
- 56:37Speaker 3: because of movies like this that at least some portion
- 56:39Speaker 3: of the population would be like, that's fine.
- 56:41Speaker 2: What about the illuminati? Do we need to get to
- 56:43Speaker 2: bring the do we need to join forces?
- 56:46Speaker 3: I feel like we need to they need to be
- 56:48Speaker 3: more public. Yeah, they should go rogue, Like they should
- 56:51Speaker 3: take a heel turn and start opposing all the like
- 56:54Speaker 3: systems of power in the United States and.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Be like let them eliminate each other.
- 57:00Speaker 3: Yeah, like those ancient fucking sky battles that are depicted
- 57:04Speaker 3: in all these ancient textrina.
- 57:06Speaker 2: Like why do we have to leave the rest of
- 57:08Speaker 2: us out of this ship?
- 57:09Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 57:09Speaker 2: Please, I want to, you know, watch good movies and.
- 57:14Speaker 3: Good movies like the Trump Prophecy. Oh my god, on
- 57:18Speaker 3: Rotten Tomatoes.
- 57:19Speaker 2: Can we see if it's on Rotten Tomatoes please? Oh yes,
- 57:22Speaker 2: I want to see it's Tomatoes score, and if it's
- 57:24Speaker 2: been reviewed as well. Trump Prophecy, Yeah, it was on
- 57:29Speaker 2: Amazon when I pulled it up. Came out in twenty eighteen.
- 57:33Speaker 4: Yeah, it's on Amazon Prime.
- 57:34Speaker 2: The fact, namely, movie is a Trump prophecy, voice of hope,
- 57:37Speaker 2: a movement of prayer, A voice of hope, a movement
- 57:41Speaker 2: of prayer.
- 57:42Speaker 3: Rotten Tomatoes doesn't even want to fucking open. Yeah, you know,
- 57:45Speaker 3: tell me what the RT score is? No critics score? Yeah,
- 57:52Speaker 3: so critics were not allowed to watch this movie. The
- 57:56Speaker 3: audience only gave it thirty. That's actually a little more
- 57:59Speaker 3: respectable then I thought it would be.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Same thing.
- 58:02Speaker 3: Yeah, this feels like this had This has better ratings
- 58:06Speaker 3: than Movie forty three.
- 58:07Speaker 4: Come on, movie forty three was great.
- 58:10Speaker 2: I whatever, Like again, like one of the main photos
- 58:12Speaker 2: is Trump. It's not even Trump's story.
- 58:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 58:15Speaker 3: It takes something like seventy six minutes for Trump's voice
- 58:20Speaker 3: to be heard or his.
- 58:21Speaker 4: Face to be seen in this movie.
- 58:23Speaker 2: And I was long, like in r I was in
- 58:25Speaker 2: my rems sit.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Yeah, by that point, I was like, can you just
- 58:28Speaker 3: show me Trump and get this fucking over with.
- 58:30Speaker 4: I was like happy to see him.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Oh, something's happening in this movie.
- 58:35Speaker 4: So fuck this movie.
- 58:38Speaker 3: If someone you know has seen this movie and likes it, uh,
- 58:42Speaker 3: toss him in a van and get him to a
- 58:43Speaker 3: cult de programmer because they are pretty far gone.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe we should leave some numbers at the end
- 58:49Speaker 2: of the episode for d programmers.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Yeah, that means your Trump supporting relative is not the
- 58:55Speaker 3: Oh it's just about trade deals type they think God
- 58:58Speaker 3: wants Trump to be president.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the red flags are there. If it's
- 59:01Speaker 2: someone you really care about, you know, reach.
- 59:03Speaker 5: Out and get them some help, yeah, or like you
- 59:06Speaker 5: know something something, or just move abandon them.
- 59:10Speaker 2: It's just the world's so complicated.
- 59:13Speaker 3: It really is, and this isn't helping. But that was
- 59:17Speaker 3: an episode, and it was a good episode.
- 59:18Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, you know what every this is. It's
- 59:21Speaker 2: just another sort of story. The world's very interesting. It's
- 59:24Speaker 2: like all this any if you can think of it,
- 59:27Speaker 2: it's it can happen, and.
- 59:29Speaker 3: It's probably happening. Yeah, somewhere like the Trump prophecies. Oh boy,
- 59:35Speaker 3: do we have anything to plug before we get out
- 59:36Speaker 3: of here?
- 59:37Speaker 2: For me, it would just be my tour Facial Recognition Comedy.
- 59:43Speaker 2: And we're gonna be at New York Comedy Club December twentieth,
- 59:47Speaker 2: eleven thirty pm, New York Comedy Club, Grammarcy location. And

- 59:53Speaker 2: Sunday of every month, and we're going to be at

- 1:00:15Speaker 2: I'm a goddamn fool.
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: God damn fool. Yeah, but your word is bond.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Word is bond, man, right, because I'm getting.
- 1:00:23Speaker 4: It from spirit right from on high.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Spirit. He'd be funny if he was just talking
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: about the airlines like he was talking about like Spirit Airlines,
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: the PR or like the you know, like that he
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: was getting all their information from. You know what I
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: thought First Airline, what I thought would have been really
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: funny in this movie. There's a scene where they're watching
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: election night and then they both go to bed because
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: they think Trump's gonna lose and they're all sad. And
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: then the wife wakes up the next morning and sees
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: that Trump won and runs in the bedroom to tell
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Mark Taylor, and I just thought it would be funny
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: if he was like hanging all freddy, she has like
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: cut him down.
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: We won great, great great, or she.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Was actually the one that hung him up.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: She's like Trump one just shoots him in the chest.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: Fuck you.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Oh goodness.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: Yeah, but none of that happened. So this movie sucked.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: Yeah it was. It was pretty like uh one note.
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: Yeah, pretty bad. Uh oh.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Hey. You can follow me on Instagram at Adam Todd
