- 6:07Hathaway.
- 6:10This donation, the largest ever to a medical school in the U.S., is part of the Gottsman's
- 6:15longstanding commitment to healthcare philanthropy.
- 6:18Dr. Ruth Gottsman's impactful career at the college includes founding the adult literacy
- 6:24program, and the Emily Fisher Lando Center for the Treatment of Learning Disabilities.
- 6:31This transformative gift aims to attract diverse, talented students, relieving them of the burden

- 8:58And now back to the show.
- 9:03Let's talk science.
- 9:05Yesterday we had our minds blown talking about time crystals.
- 9:09As promised, today we explain what a qubit actually is.
- 9:16Qbits or quantum bits are the fundamental units of quantum computing, similar to bits
- 9:21in classical computing.
- 9:25While a bit is a binary unit, that can be either 0 or 1.
- 9:29A qubit differs significantly.
- 9:31They can exist not only as 0 or 1, but also in a state of superposition, where it embodies
- 9:39both values simultaneously.
- 9:42This unique trait arises from quantum phenomena like superposition and entanglement.
- 9:49Qbits are made from quantum systems, such as electrons or photons, and have two distinct
- 9:55states representing 0 and 1.
- 9:57They're versatile, being able to undergo incompatible measurements and entangle with
- 10:02other qubits.
- 10:05This ability enables quantum computers to perform complex computations far beyond the
- 10:11scope of classical computers.
- 10:14Qubits come in various forms, including spin, trapped atoms and ions, photons and superconducting
- 10:20circuits, each with unique properties suited for different quantum technologies.
- 10:26Ouch, my brain.
- 10:31And in entertainment news, Kevin Costner, renowned for his roles in Westerns, is set
- 10:38to captivate audiences with his latest project, Horizon, an American saga.
- 10:45This ambitious cinematic endeavor, directed co-written and starring Costner, unfolds across
- 10:51four separate movies.
- 10:54The saga, set in the post-Civil War era, promises a fresh perspective on Westerns, moving away
- 11:00from the conventional town-based narratives.
- 11:03Costner describes this project as the biggest struggle of his career, both in ambition and
- 11:09budget.
- 11:11The star-studded cast includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Gina Malone and more.
- 11:18The story explores the tumultuous period of the Civil War from 1861 to 1865, delving into
- 11:26the experiences of various families and individuals during this critical time in American history.
- 11:33And the first chapter of this epic tale is set to release in theaters on June 28th, followed
- 11:39by the second chapter on August 16th.
- 11:43Fans of Costner and Westerns alike eagerly await this groundbreaking series, but we are
- 11:49all a little peeved that he bailed on the finale of Yellowstone, one of the best drama
- 11:54series of the last 20 years.
- 11:59Well alrighty folks, it's time for the quote of the day, and today our quote comes from
- 12:04Albert Einstein.
- 12:07Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.
- 12:13The important thing is not to stop questioning.
- 12:18And that's a wrap for this morning.
- 12:21Remember to stay tuned tomorrow for more news and updates.
- 12:24Have an amazing day my good friends.
